This pedal is for users who are very capable at dialling in. Equally this pedal makes for a good starter pedal if you just want to experience overdrive and what that does to your sound. But for everyone else, I think the natural mid boost gives a little too much mud to be a popular pedal board decision over more modern pedals. The main difference in a Tube Screamer and the Boss SD-1 is the type of clipping. SD-1 utilizes asymmetrical clipping, and a Tube Screamer uses symmetrical clipping. They both have a mid-hump as for as the EQ curve. You can use them both as boosts into other pedals or amps. As straight up overdrives, the Tube Screamer often sounds like a layer of dirty and a layer of clean, where as with the SD-1, you get the single layer of dirty because of the circuit's clipping type. Either are great. Some prefer one over the other. I have both the TS and the Boss. Either work great with many configurations, and in some cases you might prefer one to the other with a particular setup. I have more than one tube amp, and I have a variety of pedals that I use on this one or that one.agentsalarm
After watching a few John5 interviews it dawned on me he doesn't use many pedals. But this is one he does use, so got me interested. Did some homework Dagan mentioned it on the pedal review and I thought yeah let's get it. Amazing pedal built like a tank, super tough. Currently I have just this an a NS-2. I only have a cheaper Blackstar Amp but this paired with passive-pickups sounds epic! I have this wired into the send and receive jacks on the NS-2 and it sounds the best.Bradley B.

Overall: I'm only recently getting more into pedals and doing my first actual pedal board "build". With that said, my knowledge of this stuff is limited so I bought these thinking they would suffice in place of an actual isolated power supply, but I was wrong. I find I get a not overbearing, but still very noticeable hum/static noise when my pedal chain is connected to the amp, even with all pedals turned off. If I plug my guitar straight to the amp, the noise is gone. After doing more research I learned this is a common issue with using a daisy chain power supply. If you don't mind the noise I suppose it's fine for home practice, but probably a big no-go for recording or live use. I will be purchasing a proper power supply to replace this.

there is little or no QC regarding the power plugs–it's hit or miss whether they will fit in your pedals or not; even more hit or miss whether they will STAY in the power IN jack — many of them just slip out by themselves without you having moved the pedal. The only way to make sure they stay in place is to use rubber bands around the cable and your pedal — or whatever fastener you are willing to risk using on your expensive pedals. There are many other low-cost and more reliable daisy chain power sources available. Don;t even consider this one.alle_bala

This pedal has gotta be one of the most underrated OD pedals out there…. especially given its price point. I have A,B'd this thing against modded BD-2s, modded OD-3's, and the SD-1W and the Mojomojo is just bigger and less tinty. I dont want it to be, but it is. It is a wonderful sounding OD and is great for OD rhythm sounds. It is in the cranked Marshall class of OD's so not to be confused with the green OD pedal. The only area that some of my modded ODs beat it in is sustain. It does tail off on lead stuff sooner than some more expensive pedals. That is the only area that it doesn't win though. You can also use this as an always on boost as well. All in all this thing always seems to knock more expensive pedals off my board time and time again. Highly recommend this pedal and at it's price point it should be in all OD aficionados collection.KL
I use the MojoMojo on my Fender G-DEC Junior and it helps to make the amp sound warmer, richer and fuller. The MojoMojo when dialed in right adds a very slight and suttle low mid thickness, hard to explain. I find its not a "set it and forget it" type of pedal (i.e. Tube screamer), for each amp setting I have to dial it in or it will sound muddy but with a little tweaking between the amp settings and the pedal settings (usually level settings rather than tone knobs) I can get them matched tonally and sonically, bass tone knob is usually set pretty low. I use low output humbuckers and it works great with these. I can get nice overdrive without changing the amps overall characteristic sound.

I picked up one of these beauties after trying a bunch of units at my local GC. It was the last one I tried and I stopped right there. At the lower settings it gives me that great tube growl without having to turn my Amp up to earsplitting volumes. At higher settings the depth and saturation increase without becoming muddy or loosing definition. If you are a metal head you'll probably not want this one, but if heavy blues, rock, or covers are your thing you will love it. The crunch button adds a nice boost overall especially in the upper ranges without adding the harshness of other units. Built like a tank with battery or AC power and at this price it's a steal. I've even used it with my acoustic/electric with interesting results. Go get one!Donald

I enjoy this pedal. it cuts down on some of the noise. the pedal related stuff. most guitarists are hearing the amp noise and pedals don't cut that out, or from what I have read the stuff like the decimator may, but it has been said to mess with the tone. this seems to keep my tone intact. I have the knobs, from left to right, at like 9-10 o'clock, the middle lower knob at about 10-12 o'clock, and the right knob at about 10, that is where it stops the pedal noise. it can lend itself to a slight warbling sound like when a record is warped, kind of slightly up and down at the end of notes ringing out, I tend to like that, but it means one of the knobs is set too aggressive. worth it for the money before you think of getting the icp line, or whatever they are called. the decimator onesJared J
This pedal is getting 4 stars from me instead of 5…and I'll tell you why. It DOES do everything the pedal is designed to do…but good Lord Electro-Harmonix; why does it have to be so difficult (and sensitively touchy) to dial in the "sweet spot"?!? Any time you eliminate, or add a pedal to your chain (this means physically, not just clicking a pedal in the chain to by-pass, but actually adding or removing a pedal completely in the chain) you have to go through the painful process of dialing The Silencer in again…and the controls are extremely picky. You WILL find the sweet spot, but it can be frustrating getting to it. I recommend (if you're gonna use this pedal as a noise gate), arrange ALL the pedals you intend to use in your chain, and put The Silencer behind the noisy 'high gain' pedals (Distortion, Drive, etc…) and in front of the quiet pedals (Delay, Chorus, etc…)—set it, forget it, and leave the chain (and the controls on The Silencer) alone; and this pedal will be your best friend. As always, Electro-Harmonix makes their pedals virtually bullet proof, and this one is no different. High quality build, materials, and looks. There are a lot simpler noise gate pedals out there, but you may have to sacrifice quality for ease…and at this reasonable price, I'll put up with the time consuming difficulty of setting up The Silencer, because, with patience, the end result is ear pleasing bliss.White Dog
Electro Harmonix has or had a digital noise eliminator available. This Silencer is a gate. It works. As per Bogner Tech, I go into my MXR Super Comp, then into the Silencer input. My Drive, Fuzz, excetera…pedals are in the Silencer loop. And then the Silencer out, goes to my amp input. My delay and reverb pedals are running in my effects loop of amp. This gate kills noise present, when no notes from guitar are being played. Any time you are playing, the sound input from guitar overrides the dead signal, allowing signal to circuit to your amp. It does seem to also eliminate noise as effects trails and sustained notes fade. So it is a bit more than a gate. Compressor is first in line because, Silencer is buffered, and buffered circuits will effect a compressor's function…as per Bogner info, which definitely seems to be correct. Upgraded to this unit from a Pod XT Pro rack. This unit not only has amazing and better sounds but more flexible options and a wider array of effects and amps. Pros: -Sound is stunning. I've not done a side-by-side with a real amp mic'ed with a specific mic in a certain position, but it's utterly convincing to my ears. -Blocks can be re-ordered without restriction. For example, want to daisy chain two amps to get that "you really got me" sound? You can do it and it actually works. -Multiple outs and routing -Flexible pedal assignments. You can connect up another two external footswitches (or exp pedals) and assign to any block. OR, you can assign more than one block to a single pedal (so you could activate a tube screamer, digital delay, and anything else with a single press ready for your solo). OR, you can just use a snapshot and change dozens of parameters with a single press. No more "dancing" around the pedal board, hitting the wrong pedals in the process, looking like an utter berk etc. -Preset sounds with flexible ways to work through them. At a gig I don't have time to change an abundance of settings so have a preset for each song. Sound completely changed in half a second. Next song started without hesitation. -All functions of the unit look like they can be configured through the front panel without having to use the Windows or MAC editor. Cons -Terrible, terrible power supply brick. I can't believe Line 6 sell it like this. They even know it's rubbish – the manual says something to the effect of: "we know the power supply is big but it needs to be special to give you enough juice". Big is not the problem – being stuck upwards in the air from your mains socket standing proud like, er, ahem, well something unmentionable is the problem. Plus when you try to unplug it, the power supply comes in half leaving a little bit left in the mains socket. Which will inevitably get left at a gig. Can't wait for that to happen. -limited number of presets. I need a preset for each of 60 songs. I keep a copy of each preset as a master then duplicate them in the order of the night's set list into other presets – so with that I need at least 120 presets, allowing myself one or two to fiddle with. If I recall correctly this has around 126. Best not learn three more songs that need a different sound each. -It's a little difficult to program the thing – the button layout is confusing and unintuitive compared to the Pod XT pro I have just replaced. I can make the trade-off for the sound but this would not work for many I suspect. -Windows or MAC editor – really? Where do I set that up then? Ah yes I just need a $1000 laptop or a chuffing great desktop unit and monitor to hand. I want to spend my money on guitar gear, thanks! Some other vendors have bluetooth and android apps, line 6 for a change is behind the curve. Two final points. 1) If you need something easier to use buy something with more buttons, knobs and pedal switches. 2) If you really like a particular sound, go out and buy the real amp / effect. You just can't beat the real thing. But this gets very, very close, and of course you have several hundred "things" to choose from with no crackles, no mic stand to get kicked, etc etc.
Purchased as a desktop amp to replace a Kemper head and footswitch, primarily for desktop and recording purposes. The unit is very solidly made and takes up next to no space. Although there are limited knobs on the unit itself, the Windows HX Edit software is excellent and makes it super easy to configure presets. Whilst the HX Stomp's effects blocks are very limited compared with the full size Helix, if you typically use a straightforward setup with, say 3-4 pedals, an amp, a cab/IR I don't see why this tiny device couldn't replace an entire rig. One minus point is that the external PSU has poorly designed plastic adapters for different plug types (UK/Euro etc) which disconnect from the PSU far too easily. First time I took mine out the house I unplugged it and didn't realise the adapter had remained in the socket. I had to buy a US to UK adapter. Something to be aware of if you plan on taking this on the road. Also bear in mind that at the time of writing it's not possible to share presets between Stomp and the larger Helix units.
Where do I begin? What a fantastic unit. I've played it both through a tube, stereo 4×12 rig and an FRFR and it sounds incredible through both. The delays, the mods, the tube amps, the pedals the IR options. The most exciting thing about this is the sound! The Helix class software lets me play like me and sound like me. However, another fantastic feature is the edit-ability, and that you get Helix Native for 99 bucks that loads in full Helix profiles with tons of presets. I love loading the profiles into Native and scaling them down for Stomp XL. Another is the portability. I can tote this thing around everywhere and not even feel the pain of dragging around heavy processing gear. I haven't had it long and am just digging in, but i can tell you, it gets more and more exciting what the Helix class software/ HX Stomp can do the further I go. Seamless computer to unit edits and updates are easy. Get it…get it now. You wont regret it. Five stars in every category.Bobby O'Dell

I went with 3 stars, but this isn't a bad pedal at all. It's classic, but MXR has since done much better. Once I got the Super Badass Distorion, I never used it again on my main board. Honestly for years I made the mistake of using the Distortion + as a main distortion. It functions much better as an overdrive through a dirty signal.
I'd recommend this pedal for a beginner or a hobbyist looking for a simple, user friendly distortion to beef up their sound. The more serious players, I'd say look further down the MXR line.Coffee Stain
This is a comparison between the (1983) Series 2000 model and the current Dunlop Re-release. In 1983 I bought the Dist+ after seeing it in the equipment lists of Alex Lifeson and some guy named Randy Rhoads. Upon hearing this wonderbox, I immediately traded away my previous (Ross) distortion pedal. After only thirty years, one of the pots showed signs of dying and I had to find a replacement. I considered Boss, among others, and read countless reviews. The Series 2000 was a superlative product with dual outputs; #1 was pure wet signal, #2 mixed the wet with dry signal. It had silent switching and was built like a tank. Finding a replacement promised to be a pain. I am grateful to the many reviewers of the Dunlop version who gave me the faith to buy the new model. I had to "daisy chain" the two pedals and swap back and forth to get "my sound" as the knobs on the two pedals are marked differently (Series 2000: Level/Drive, Dunlop: Output/Distortion). My efforts were successful and I marked the positions lest the knobs get bumped/moved. The Dunlop model allows for a higher level of distortion and has more gain than the Series 2000 so I am more than happy with the Dunlop version. Whether it will last thirty years remains to be seen but I wouldn't think twice about buying it again. My style is inspired by the psychedelic rock of the late 1960's and the Dist.+ gives a nice fuzzy Yardbirds sound. …and that's a good thing. I'm probably gonna make some people mad by writing that, but it's true. It's a fizzy, gritty, dirty drive pedal like the 'Lead' channel on a Peavey Classic 50. The Classic 50 is a criminally underrated amp by the way, just ask Pearl Jam and Satriani. I've never heard the original Timmy, but I would guess that since the original designer of it was involved with the MXR version, it's probably pretty close. I didn't notice a huge difference when flipping through the toggle, though the middle setting is the cleanest of the bunch. It's cleans up ok with the volume rolled back but not all the way like a klone. For me the sound is so close to the Classic 50 that I don't (completely) regret getting rid of mine, so it's pure nostalgia. Best part is that you can use it in a low wattage amp and get the same snarl as the 50 watt monster at bedroom levels.Guy on the sofa
The MXR Timmy was one of the OD tones I have been looking for. The gain knob is perfect for adjusting with a glassy clean Princeton Reverb. So now, I can play my Princeton at bedroom volume and get an excellent overdrive tone. I also used it on my Blues Jr with the Hemp cone speaker and its edge of breakup, which sounded beautiful. I even used the Timmy on my Fender Bronco from the 90s, a solid-state amplifier on the clean channel through a Mesa 2×12 cab, and it was great. The Timmy MXR pedal is worth the investment and more affordable than buying a Paul Cochrane handmade Timmy pedal. But this pedal was a collaboration between MXR and Paul Cochrane but made accessible to guitarists who want the Timmy but at the working-class hero price. I borrowed an original Tim from a friend some time ago to try it with my Fender Deluxe Reverb Tonemaster and I was very impressed at the time. I rely on my trusted Boss Blues Driver which I also love. But I decided to try the MXR Timmy especially for low gain overdrive, which is where I spend most of my playing time. I really like the Timmy, it sounds as though it improves the amp tone that I already love, without colouring it too much. I tried a few different kinds (tube screamer, crayon, hot tubes) but all got me away too much from the core tone. Now with Timmy I feel like I do not have any reason to switch this pedal off, ever. From a very subtle push to a nice crunchy tone. The EQ works great, it helps me to cut away some bass from my P90 Les Paul or some treble away from my Strat without changing the other frequencies too much. To my ear and memory this sounds very comparable to the original Tim I tried a while ago. But please check all the YouTube video's of side by side comparisons. The build quality is great. I have not found any downsides to this pedal yet and can surely recommend it.

I was looking for a new pedal to push my Origin Effects Revival Drive when I came upon the Golden Pearl. After watching all of the demo videos I could find I decided to pull the trigger. That was a great move. Even though there are dozens of "transparent" overdrives on the market, this one really nails it. The two switches really help fine tune the response and the amount of detail that is revealed is amazing. It truly "enhances" the sound of the RD which is already excellent and takes it's tone to another level. It's really inspirational to play through. The only problem I could see with the GP is the fact that a less than stellar tone might be magnified in an honest but unflattering way much like a fine microphone can reveal problems with the source. This pedal works as advertised. It does not alter the tone of your guitar and amp, and is designed to push an already cranky amp. I use it at 18 volts with my Orange OR15 and Gibson Les Paul. The Orange can be kind of picky about what kind of overdrive you put in front of it. I have been setting the Golden Pearl up as a saturated rhythm sound and then boosting my (silver) Archer into it for a more mid-focused lead tone. I really like the high-cut switch. It is subtle, but effective, especially for recording. I also tried the Golden Pearl with my Marshall DSL40C, and it sounds great on both channels with that amp too. I've gone through a few overdrive pedals over the last couple years (OCD, Maxon OD808, TS9, and Modded Boss SD-1), and I am really happy I picked this one up.Man on the Moon

This is a lightly used and in overall very good condition night wire from earthquaker devices. the night wire is a harmonic tremolo which means the signal is split into high pass and low pass filters, then modulated with an lfo that is split 180 degrees. it takes the traditional harmonic tremolo a few steps further by allowing the center point of both filters to be adjusted for different tones. the filter frequency and tremolo sections have multiple modes to choose from that allows the used to mix and tweet the harmonic features of the tremolo to create a wide palate of sounds. the v2 of the pedal now has an upgraded low noise circuit and earthquaker flexiswitch technology. this relay-based, true bypass switching style allows you to simultaneously use momentary and latching style switching. for standard latching operation, tap the footswitch once to activate the effect and then tap again to bypass. for momentary operation, hold the footswitch down for as long as you’d like to use the effect. once you release the switch the effect will be bypassed.

The Night Wire is a fun pedal and a great springboard for creativity. I love tremolo and I already have a number of tremolo pedals (including one with harmonic trem). But I wanted one with the Ramp down function, which is why I got the Night Wire. To my mind, the voice of the Night Wire doesn’t quite nail the chewiness of vintage harmonic tremolo, but then this is clearly a contemporary interpretation of a vintage effect and it’s very good at what it does. The depth of the tremolo sound is impressive. It is deep and throbby and it works well with both clean and overdriven/fuzz sounds (not always the case with Trem in my opinion). I have only scratched the surface of the other functions and there’s clearly a lot of versatility within the pedal to engender creativity. It’s also worth mentioning the soft switching, which is a joy to use… I wish more pedal builders incorporated this feature. Oh, the colour and finish is cool too. Recently I have received a few pedals (Not Earthquaker) where quality control hasn’t really been up to par. Out of interest, I took a look inside the Night Wire and was very impressed with the superb quality of the workmanship…. EQD are cool guys and they run a tight ship. It strikes me that everyone who works there takes great pride in their work. This is my third EQD pedal and it won’t be my last, that’s for sure. This is my second Earthquaker Devices pedal, after the Aqueduct vibe pedal, and this is a bit more conventional and versatile at the same time. Its my first harmonic tremolo but I love all the optical tremolo pedals Ive tried. Its visually stunning with a nice intense purple glitter finish, solid switching and knobs. Hand-numbered on the label on the bottom gives a good indication of the dedication to detail the makers invest in their pedals, and I couldnt be happier with the Night Wiretootsrambles

I’ve played a lot of different overdrive pedals over the years and this is easily one of the best. I use it as my primary drive pedal on my board going straight into a 65 Princeton reverb set clean with a TS style pedal in front for a mid push for solos and it sounds fantastic. It will go from totally clean boost (very handy) to full on distortion bordering on fuzz with a very low noise floor (also handy). It very much reacts like a cranked valve amp with great touch sensitivity so when you pick lightly it cleans up and when you dig in it roars. I tend to keep it on the flat setting as I mainly use humbucker guitars but the phat setting sounds great with a strat neck pickup, just adding a bit of extra low mid thump. Really versatile, great sounding drive pedal that works well with all my guitars/amps. Great fun and highly recommended!Rhys L.
I had a Boss BD-2 modded by Keeley back in 2006. I will never part with it as it sounds so good and now a collector's item. Just pulled the trigger on Keeley's Phat Mod which after some play sounds even better. It seems to have less noise and more headroom(volume). I play a Fender Telecaster into a Carvin V3M. This Phat Mod sounds so delicious! My favorite setting is the phat switch on, level at noon, gain around 10:00 and tone around 1:00. At this setting you won't want to turn it off. as it is a like a volume-responsive clean boost that provides a little break-up as you play hard and/or increase volume. Also, this thing before another drive like the Keeley Oxblood… yummy. That is how I will use it. Bottom line: arguably the best transparent over-drive out there. I would consider having two on my board, one at the above setting and one with the drive up, phat switch off, for lead.Ryan C.

My search for the ever-elusive tone I've been hearing in my head for years is finally over. This pedal has the greatest tone out there. It's actually 2 separate pedals. The right side is my 'always on' side. I play in a classic rock cover band and the Underdog covers it all from soft crunch Stones to all-out in your face Zeppelin. I actually vought it for that country over drive or distortion tone Like Paisley % many other country players seem to just have.However having, A steel string singer, a Lenny pedal, A blue note,amd two Rat pedals in front of the paisley drive gives me quite alot of options and different tones it works GREAT. and the trugh is I don't use a distorted tone for my sound. I mostley use clapton guirs which altreay have a built in preamp plus with a Fender Showman or 4-10 blues deville just sounds amazing but this pedal with my other puts ity over thetop when I asm looking for more or different tones. works great on my pedal board which I just put together after 48 years. Much easier than bending down and hooking up each pedal so this is the first time in all these years I can actually use all my effects together at once.
I researched this pedal long a hard before making the purchase. I can’t recall how many videos I watch or musicians I spoke with about the Paisley Deluxe. It was the first dual OD/Distortion which was perfect for my pedalboard setup. I use Decible 11 Pedal Palettes exclusively on my personal pedalboard and the nature of the internal switching and outputs of this pedal were perfect! I love the ability of Channel 2 to give that just-breaking-up OD sound I’ve been looking for. The Distortion side (Channel 1) is absolutely fantastic in creating that Full-Tilt, maxed out Overdrive pedal sound we all grew to love. Together the channels can create a near Metal sound or, as I accidentally discovered, a beefed up Fuzz sound. This, of course, all depends on the Channel Routing and your Tone and Gain settings. Pedal arrived on time my only complaint is the pedal came out of he box almost looking used. It was dirty and the pedal box looked like it was thrown down a flight of stairs. There was a battery in it which was cool but it died after the second day which makes me think it may have been a return? Love it! So far, I've used this Vox Silk Drive going directly into my recording interface as well as the "line" input on my Vox Cambridge50 – sounds warm and creamy in both situations. I also compared its sound going through studio monitors with my Vox AC15, and while the character is different, it's definitely in the same league for both clean and crunch playing. I've been a NuTube fan since Vox came out with the MV50 miniamps a few years back. While the MV50 Boutique is my favorite, all distort like a 12ax7 tube, but clearer in a way. Compared to the NuTube sound, my Fender, Marshall and Vox tube amps all have a papery kind of sound covering the distorted signal. The NuTube has 12ax7-style warmth when overdriven, but without the papery edge. But the Vox amps with the NuTubes always had some connectivity issue, such as missing an effects loop, or had extra stuff that got in the way like digital modeling. This Valvenergy pedal has the missing pieces! It's fully analog, so no fizzy sound. Full EQ, and especially the bright switch and mid control, which fix the only tone issue with the MV50 Boutique which is that it can sound a little cold. This pedal has the same character as the Boutique, but with filled-out EQ options. But like the Boutique, if you push it hard with another boost pedal and it just gets creamier, like a good tube amp front end. The "preamp" output settings don't seem to be boosting the signal, so I'm guessing they're an impedance switch designed to let you plug straight into a sound board or DAW without a DI box – they work great going into my board. And the cab sim setting is wonderful – it seems to be the same as in the MV50s, which I once compared to micing my Marshall 1960 cabinet with a Neumann KM84 and I couldn't tell the difference between the two.
I use the Vox Silk Drive with Cab. Sim. mode in front of my Acoustic A20 amplifier to get that nice overdriven sound that only a tube amplifier can provide. This pedal is not just for overdrive though; this pedal even improves my sound with the gain down. On the other end of the setting there is plenty of gain to get some rocking good distortion; my guitar is a Hanson Firenze with three vintage-wound (6.5 K Ohm) blade-style mini humbuckers. So plenty of gain despite the fact that this pedal is the low-gain member of the family and my guitar doesn't have hot pickups. This tube-preamp pedal also works well with a compressor or tube screamer (drive on low for tone shaping only). I am enjoying playing through this pedal; my guitar once again sounds as good as it did in the store when I bought it after demoing through an expensive Supro amplifier.Dave

This review is for the Keely Red Dirt overdrive pedal. I really like this pedal a lot. I am 65 and I've been collecting pedals for many years. I currently own 26 overdrive pedals. Everything from old to new….from tube based to sold state and mixtures of both. This is one of the better ones…especially for the price. I believe most people will be happy with this pedal. Its very responsive, very adjustable, very predictable and sounds very good (to me). It falls somewhere between a Bogner Lagrange and a Zvex Box of Rock in my opinion. I've searched high and low for the best 808 style overdrive. Ibanez, Maxon, JHS, Analogman, Fulltone, the list is endless in terms of all of the companies out there that claim to make the best 808/TubeScreamer available. Adjustable mid range, sub-miniature tube boost, 9 vs. 18 volts, mid range control, low boost/clipping switch, the options are immense and I don't have it in me to buy all of them, only to find out most of them aren't worth my time or my money, so I went with the name that is synomous with not taking away, but adding to the sound and greatness of the best and most user-friendly overdrive in the world, the 808. I initially got in touch with Keeley to mod my 808, but I figured, between shipping my Maxon OD808 twice, true-bypass switching, doing two mods, and hoping for the best, why not buy the Red Dirt for that price? It IS the OD808, but better, with the Plus/Baked mods built in, built of the best components available, with true bypass switching. I went for it, and I love it. I'll run it with everything, boosting low wattage blues amps, or adding amazing gain to a big master volume tube amp, and lastly, using it as a clean boost in front of a 100 watt high gain head for a tight, dynamic, and articulate high gain distortion. It does it all, it does it better, all while not sucking the low end, and boosting the mid range of your tone to unbearable levels. It also gives you the perfect amount of compression. Go with Keeley. I bought my pedal straight from the company via e-mail…Initially the Katana upon their recommendation for a clean boost…When it didn't work for what I was doing, they told me, no problem, send it back, we'll get you what you initially inquired about, the Red Dirt, and I haven't looking back. I run two in my rig with my Soldano SLO-100. One (always on) as a clean boost in the Baked position, one after that as a solo boost in the Plus position…Ridiculous. Get it.KSAV
20. Cioks 1533 3-Way Daisy Chain Flex 1

Cioks ci-1533 3-way daisy chain flex cable 50+30+30cm this flex cable makes it possible to power three pedals using only one outlet of the power supply. you need to make sure that the three pedals can all be powered by the same voltage and that they all use the most common 5,5/2,1mm centre negative dc plug, the boss standard. on this daisy chain the first dc plug is 50cm from the plug which goes into the power supplys outlet. theres 30cm in-between the first and the second dc plug and also 30cm in-between the second and third dcplug. the total length of this special flex cable is approx. 110cm. the longer distance between the plugs gives you more freedom in placing the pedals youd like to power with the daisy chain on your pedalboard. when using the daisy chain flex make sure that the sum of the three pedals currents in ma stays below the max. current rating of the outlet used. please also note that the daisy chain flex cable has all three dc plugs connected in parallel to the power supplys outlet. this is to avoid the risk of a digital pedal introducing noise into your guitar signal when being powered in a parallel connection with a simple analogue pedal.
