FIRST REVIEW ON THIS GUITAR WOO-HOO Bought a mint condition return and it came without a single smudge. Its gray burst and is darker than the stock photo. In dull light you can barely see it (could be why it was returned??? just a guess). Ok down to the real stuff. This neck is AWESOME! Like a PRS thin with an Ibanez flat radius fret board. It is sleek and definitely made for tuning down. C# works very well. The neck carve is very deep. It actually starts behind the front strap button. Action is set fairly low I had some buzz and raised the bridge a little bit. The weight is similar to an ESP Eclipse. Pickups are just okay nothing spectacular. Tuners are fine for now. Input jack is recessed (which I like). Strap buttons are solid. Love the Quick Change tailpiece. Love the flip door on the truss rod cover. NO sharp frets. The nut had some sharp edges but its easy to round off with a small file. Bridge sits tight with no creaks or pops. Volume and tone knobs are rather tight but they are still new and may loosen up over time. Toggle switch could use some more resistance but does not feel like junk. Small compaints: While playing my fingers were turning black from whatever is on the rosewood. Between string changes I rubbed down the fret board with some polish and an old rag then used lemon seed oil and let it soak in a few moments before wiping the excess off. There are no jumbo frets. Really some jumbos would be great on this thing. Future: Would like to see a floating trem model and more color options. Flamed blue with silver binding would be awesome. I bought this guitar with the intention of modifying it. I'm looking at Lace Deathbucker pups, Schaller tuners,straplocks and bridge, different nut (have not decided on type), stainless jumbo frets, and upgraded pots. Relieved to get a guitar w/ pickups w. a nice harmonic sound as I once owned a fine Sach Ibanez w/ terrible stock pickups ie. I was fearin' to order this guitar. . The neck was bowed to a frightening curve, but after the initial truss rod adjust my friend who owns several Fender and Gibson said "This is the straightest neck I ever saw." needs pro tuners…peoxeronase

Sound: The stock pickups sound great especially with high gain. Nice crunch and break up. Features: For me the reason that I bought this model is that it is the least expensive way to get a real Edge tremolo. I can do subtle things with the Edge that I can’t do on an Original Floyd Rose. The bar is easier to position and it stays where ever you put it. As long as the torsion bushings on the bar aren’t worn out, the pop in bar is neither too tight or too sloppy. Value: This guitar is worth every penny. Manufacturer Support: I did not use Ibanez customer service and I did order half a dozen sets of torsion bushings, but had to order them from different places. The Wow Factor: I love the color of this one, Desert Sun Yellow. Overall: In the last 2 months I’ve bought 5 different Ibanez guitars, both lower and higher price. I must say that this guitar is the most bang for the buck out of any of my 21 guitars that I own.Got more than 200 bucks off on mine as it was sold as a slight blemish. When the guitar arrived, I noticed it did have a hairline crack in the paint on the bass side at the neck pocket. That was the only flaw I could find and it probably would have happened anyway if I would have got a “new” one.This is the shreddiest guitar that I have. The only thing that I had to address is that the 6th fret was a little proud. Other than that the fret job was good. All the frets were shiny and smooth and no fret sprout.This is the guitar that is at the price point where if you spend more money, you aren’t going to get much better. Overall: This guitar was a total impulse buy and I’m so glad I bought it! It’s easily worth twice the price of it. Can’t get too many mid tier guitars that are neck thru with decent pickups and a 5-way switch that has a fast and slim neck at this price. I mostly play baritone 6 strings and 7 strings but I needed a 25.5” scale for drop C and this is perfect for it with 10-54 strings. I did upgrade the nut with a Graphtech tusq nut and Hipshot locking tuners with knurled tuner buttons and looks even more badass while staying in perfect tune! I have an Ibanez rgib6 Iron Label 28” baritone and this is up there with that as far as quality and playability. The stock pickups aren’t bad at all and definitely surprised me cuz that’s usually the first thing I’ll change in an inexpensive guitar. As you can see by the other reviews people say it’s a great guitar and they’re not lying so if you’re on the fence about getting it then go for it! You won’t be disappointed at all and if for some reason you are then zZounds has a return policy within like 30-45 days so you won’t be stuck with a guitar you don’t love.Josh

There is plenty to like about this guitar, and I got it for the features I was looking for: locking tremelo, 24 frets, fast neck, 5 way pickup selector, and nice looks. My first impressions of the guitar was slight disappointment with how sloppy Ibanez was. The tops and bottoms of the frets needed to be beveled as they were pretty sharp, there was a noticeable nick on the fretboard, and there was a black smudge on the back of the neck. None of those was a huge deal. The main two issues I have with the guitar are that the middle pickup, the single coil, has such low output that the middle three positions are much quieter than the neck or bridge pickups alone. I do like the tone of the single coil in conjunction with the humbuckers, but those positions are somewhat useless considering how quiet they are, and I have ordered a humbucker to replace it. The single coil alone (middle position) has too much noise AND is too quiet. Not a big deal to replace a pickup, but why they are selling it this way, I'm not sure. The second issue is the volume control. Instead of a gradual swell, there is a sharp dropoff in volume at one point in the rotation of the dial, making it pretty much useless other than having it full on or all the way off. I am not sure if that is fixable, but if it is, I'll need to have that done as well. All that said, if the guitar had not arrived in such sloppy condition and the two problems were resolved, I'd give this guitar 5 stars.hickory spork

The Ibanez RG 450 or any of the RG's are with the exception of the factory p/u and electronic. capable of becoming one of the best performance guitars to own. The base Ibanez Floyd Rose system is fiddley but, after learning how to adjust/tune quickly becomes appreciated for holding tune no matter the severity of attacks you use with the tremolo. The Wizard(ll or lll ?) You would need to go to custom built to exceed the easy play and comfortable frets you will find on and RG. This recent RG450 I upgraded to equal the higher priced models by adding the De Marzio Tone Zone (B), Air Norton (N). And instead of going with the True Velvet. Added the Seymour Duncan Vintage Hot Stack for the middle position and added better electrics to even out the upgrades.. End result; This guitar plays and sound equal to guitars costing over $1,000.00!! Good bones! Yes this can be played well and many will find happiness with this as stock., and, will perform well against the competition dollar for dollar!ikeus

I used to own an '89 Ibanez VBK JEM that I regrettably sold to buy a gaming pc. I wanted to get a newer entry level RG so I could have a floyd,HSH superstrat in E standard. I've had this RG for long enough to know it's a keeper. This thing has the same feel and vibe of my old JEM! Minus the monkey grip and other features obviously. The neck feels fantastic and I only had to do very minor setup adjustments to my liking. I would have liked a rosewood or ebony fingerboard but of course this is the lower end model. The Jatoba feels good under the fingers, similar to rosewood but with a slightly lighter shade to it. Like most guitars you buy online mine came desperately needing some good oil and cleaning. The Jatoba fingerboard seems to require a bit more lubrication than rosewood. The neck binding is done well, not perfect but to a good standard. I do wish the trem was an Edge lo-pro… But again, this is the lower priced model. There is nothing wrong with the Edge tremolo, it stays in tune well with whammy bar abuse but it is one of the bulkier Original Floyd Rose style bridges. The stock Quantum pickups are among the best stock Ibanez pickups I've tried. They are hot but versatile. However I did swap them out with the classic Dimarzio Air Norton/Steves Special combo and a True Velvet middle. I do believe a higher end Ibanez will obviously sound better than this but for the price it really is hard to beat! Well done Ibanez and AMS!Nevin

First off, the guitar came well wrapped inside a gig bag which has an Ibanez logo on it with padding around 10.5mm, I'm guessing. (A Road Runner Gig bag, which feels thicker, is at 20mm padding.) It also came with a guitar multi-tool like a multi-tool for a bike. No more wrinkled baggy of loose tools. Second, I like to check the frets as an easy indicator of craftsmanship and can say tops and bottoms are both smooth, but also expected from a guitar this price. Also, no fret buzz found on the string/fret test. So far so good. Third, playing and feel. This guitar feels solid and sounds great! The guitars body resonates well and long, probably thanks to the Basswood and I really dig the DiMarzio pickups because they are very clear. I never had a set like this before and basically had to stop playing cause my fingers started hurting. You know how that goes. Also, no issues with the T1502 Tremolo. The quick disconnect is a nice function for the lever. Last of all, looks. The faded black around the edge of the body looks exactly how it's pictured, so I am very happy with that. I also like how the wood grain can still be seen through the finish on the rear of the body. Although the gold trim fits the guitar well, I am not a fan of it and will be swapping them out for black or Cosmo black parts. Overall, I would definitely recommend. I am very happy with the guitar. Compared to the S621QM, there is no fret buzz, overall quality is better (3x more expensive), and the AZ47P1QM came exactly as pictured. (The S621QM had a brown fade despite the picture showing a black fade, which was disappointing.) Hopefully this review helps you. Keep shredding my friends!Allan

This guitar rises above the 'super Strat' identifier. The playability of this instrument is incredible, especially if you are used to the neck profile of these guitars. All the standard pre-requesite Strat tones are here, instantly available for you via the 5 way switch. However, flip the dyna-MIX9 switch, and you have Tele style neck/bridge combo, the option of a neck humbucker (neck & middle PUs in series), 2 humbuckers, and bridge single coil (which I have used more than any guitar I have owned other than a Tele). The playability of this guitar is off the charts! Roasted maple neck & locking tuners keep it in tune for gigs beyond what I have seen in guitars before. This is a 'Swiss Army knife' guitar for all seeking Strat tones with harder rock edge or country flavors.Jeff

I had one of the first series AZ back in 2019, a Premium model, which was very good although there were some things I didn't like that much or were not my cup of tea. The veneer was not to my liking, the pickups although good was a bit hot to my taste and liking, and no idea if it's the basswood body or the constructions difference, but when playing unplugged it didn't resonate as much, although plugged in was totally fine (but I tend to play unplugged as well so I look for guitars I enjoy playing unplugged too) Then I decided to go to a traditional strat and later on I went for a Suhr Guitar. Suhr is fantastic in every way. I sold my Suhrs because I was looking for a more vintage style strat but then decided wanted again a kind of superstrat HSS more modern sounding to replace a PRS I'm selling that it's great but a bit too much for me, and want a more player guitar. I was thinking on the Suhr, but then I saw the 2021 Ibanez AZ with rosewood and tortoise pickguard, covered humbucker, and less hotter pickups and wow, this guitar was perfect for what I was looking. Looks very classy, I got the blue one, single-coils sound great, very good clarity (not vintage style like my other strat, but I like that because they complement very well and serve 2 different purposes), the humbucker is great for rock, hard rock and like 80's rock (I'm not into extreme metal so not looking for that sound). And unplugged this Prestige resonates well, different than the premium I had, so unplugged sounds alive, and like these pickups much more than the Hyperion (but that's my personal preference) Neck is a bit thinner than the Suhr I had, but for a more modern approach is very nice and comfortable. I have no issues going from my 50's neck les paul back to the Ibanez AZ. And quality is there. Pros vs the Suhr, is that it has roasted maple that I really like, and the 9 switch sound options, that for me having the neck and middle parallel is like having a neck humbucker which is really awesome, what a versatile guitar. And of course the price! Pros on the Suhr is that those really are on the top of their game in quality and pickups I liked the Suhr ones a bit more. And the neck on the Suhr is fantastic. This doesn't mean the Ibanez is bad, on the contrary, I'm very very pleased and happy with the Ibanez, is more than enough for me, and even though the Suhr is amazing and overall I give them the edge over the Ibanez AZ, the AZ is top quality guitar too as well and I don't have the need to go for a Suhr with this AZ.Nico

This (and the blue with rosewood/hardtail) are my first Ibanezes. I mostly play strats and Les Pauls. As I understand it, these have been referred to as Super Strats, because of the double cutaway and the HH. The blue has a matching headstock and a five tone switch. The neck is the most comfortable I've played, the strings are evenly spaced and there's plenty of room for your fingers, even at the top. The satin finished body has the same feel as the neck and it weighs around 6 pounds. After I found the dragon eye (reverse matching headstock, maple fretboard and whammy) at the same price, I couldn't let go of the blue, so now I have two. I'm playing them through my Boss Katana, and it's a good match. Gotta say, it's a totally new guitar playing experience, and the only question is which one to pick up first. If you're thinking about an Ibanez, this would be the one (or two).Rich at the Beach

Looks are stunning. Sound is great. Pups have high output despite "medium" description. Rocks with all genres of music (Jazz to metal). Love that I can use my clean channel for both sparkle and overdrive just by turning up the vol. The 3 position switches for coil tapping aren't really necessary, but you can "kind-of" sound like a single coil Pup. Dont buy this if you want to sound like a strat style coil. This guitar can give a Les Paul studio are run for its money.Gerry

After months of searching for my next guitar I finally settled on the Ibanez Prestige AZ series. As a lifelong strat player, my goal was to find a guitar that married modern features with classic American Strat-like qualities. The obvious choice might be the modern Suhr series, but the pricing on those was too high for me to even entertain exploring. The Ibanez Prestige AZ2402 is the perfect rendition of the featuree I was looking for and after 3 weeks of playing, I could not be happier with this purchase. I was able to secure the guitar for a few hundred less than new, as it was labelled as "minor blemish" on the AMS site. I immediately jumped on it and am ecstatic that I did so. To this day 3 weeks later, I cannot tell what the "blemish" could be. This thing looks, feels, plays and sounds like a brand new guitar. Out of the box the guitar was set up and only just slightly flat of tune. To meet my preference, some minor adjustments were made to the neck and bridge, but the 20 minutes or so that it took to slap some fresh strings on and make the measurements was well worth it. I have even had to do this on product that was brand new before, so I could not even attribute this to the "minor blemish" label. Th pickups are amazing. The coil switch mechanisms are great for added versatility, but the standard humbuckers are excellent and the guitar should still be considered even if you do not plan to use the switching system. The neck is super creamy and clear as a bell, while the bridge is just hot enough for metal and crystal clear enough to jangle some clean chords. The bridge is very solid with comfortable saddles and screams top quality. Tuning stability has not been any sort of issue, even with the use of the bar. I am not an extreme whammy bar user, but I did do some tests on deep dives and the guitar tuning needed no adjustment afterwards. In fact, since I changed the strings and did the setup on the second day, the guitar has not gone out of tune at all. I will highlight that the neck is way thicker than what I was anticipating, but in a few hours I was right at home with the feel. I have played many wizard necks and it simply was not what I was looking for, being accustomed to chunkier modern strat necks. The AZ neck is big, chunkier than the strat but I am now in love with it and this guitar has become my go to #1. Definitely recommend even at the full new price. This same guitar made in the US with all the exact same appointments would cost in excess of 4K. Great Guitar!Ryan

Sound: The Hyperion pickups do a great job overall and offer up a nice array of different sounds for just about every style of music. When in HH mode it goes from blues to rock and beyond with no problem. When the DynaMix switch is engaged the guitar takes on a completely different characteristic from jangly to warm and has some great tonal options for clean and crunch. I like the versatility of this guitar. It takes a bit of time to get used to all the options and you’ll have to tweak your EQ here and there to avoid them sounding thin or shrill, but I think you'll be able to find quite a few useful tones with this guitar. Features: The Gotoh tuners are sturdy and stable. The ratio is great and they really smooth with no issues at all holding tune. I had never used them before and I had to YouTube how to unlock them lol, but they work great. I prefer locking tuners with the knob on the back, but that's just personal preference. The Gotoh bridge feels spectacular. The titanium saddles are so smooth, no more rubbing your palm raw over rough saddles or screws. I don't use a trem much these days but it does a good job staying in tune even with some dive bombs and flutters. The roasted maple neck is beautiful and has a great smooth feel on the back. The cutaway and contours are very comfortable and the recessed input jack is a thoughtful highlight. And yes, most wireless transmitters will fit. I could not get my Line 6 G10 transmitter to fit in the AZ Premium I had. The Prestige is not as deeply recessed and the transmitter fits just fine. This is my first go around with stainless steel frets but I do like the feel of them and they look good too. Ease of Use: It’s a fairly straightforward guitar to use and maintain. Nothing overly complicated here. Changing strings on a 2 point trem is a breeze compared to Floyd Rose or Edge terms and with the locking tuners you can get through the task in just a few minutes. All the back panels open easily for access to trem springs, input jack, and electronics. The exposed truss rod socket makes adjusting the neck a snap. The included multi-tool is really all you will ever need for quick changes. Quality: This is where everyone will say they have high end made in America PRS, or Custom Shop whatevers and this is just as good or better. They will say that for a good reason because it’s the truth. Fit and finish are spectacular. No gaps or wiggles to be found. Fret work and fingerboard are simply top notch. It feels like it’s been your guitar for years. Electronics are smooth and there is an overall premium feel to this instrument. The hype is real…. FujiGen makes great guitars. Value: Value is a subjective measure. This is an expensive guitar for sure but when compared to similar “modern player” guitars out there the 2402 sits right in the middle price-wise. I feel it’s well within reason for what you get and it’s a good value for your money. I’d rather get a painted body with stainless steel frets than a bookmatched top and standard frets. Manufacturer Support: Haven't needed it The Wow Factor: In my humble opinion the wow factor is somewhat unseen. The story behind the AZ series is quite novel in that Ibanez reached out and met with some of the best and brightest guitarists around today. Over a period of 2 or 3 years and through several prototypes they compiled all of those suggestions into this amazing series of instruments. If all the artists involved really feel that this is their ultimate guitar then that’s pretty wow in my book. Overall: OK first let’s talk about the 800 pound gorilla in the room. That neck!!!! If you have done any research on the AZ series you already know it’s not a Wizard neck, but you may be surprised at how big it is. When I first grabbed it I was thinking I was going to return it, but after playing on it for a few days it felt like home. Like a lot of things about this guitar, the neck is a paradox. It shouldn’t feel this comfortable to someone who prefers Charvel and Jacksons, but it does. It doesn’t feel like a shred neck, but you can play that way remarkably well on it. It has its own unique shape like nothing I’ve played before. If I had to compare it to something I’d say somewhat resembles a Fender American Elite neck but more of a U shape with bigger shoulders. I can say that I don’t notice a huge change when going back and forth with my other guitars. It’s easy to transition between them without a lot of readjustment time to ‘get the feel’. I’ve seen a lot of forum posts asking about how the AZ Prestige stacks up to other instruments. Here’s my opinion. I own a Charvel Pro Mod DK24 HSS with the roasted neck and I really like that guitar a lot. The 2402 is a little lighter and sleeker and has a higher quality feel. I think the Hyperions as humbuckers are more versatile than the Full Shred. The 2402 neck is thicker and feels a little wider vs the DK which is more like a very thin Strat neck. First off the Japanese craftsmanship on these guitars a second to none! Perfect execution in every way! Neck, body, frets, tremolo everything just fits together in joyful harmony to make for an awesome axe that practically plays itself. Stainless steel frets will last a life-time and pickups offer a wide array of tone arsenal. If you need just one axe in your collection i would recommend this for sure. Everything I wanted in a semi-hollow. I spent hours at two GC's AB testing Gretsch, Epiphone, D'Angelico, and Ibanez. I wanted to stay below $600 plus tax. GC was having a 15% off sale so this was just under. They don't carry the AS93FM in any store near me so I was trying the Green Valley Gradation AS73FM. The Ibanez just felt and sounded better in all aspects. I fully planned to get the Epiphone ES-335 Pro, but all of the Epiphone's had an overly bright top end with little mids or lows and the Epiphone frets felt a little rough on almost every guitar. Felt like grit when bending the strings on blues leads. The Gretsch were really nice and played well, but the Ibanez fretboards were just better. I broke my own rule by buying a guitar I have never played by ordering the AS93FM. I wanted the ebony fret-board on the AS93FM vs the Laurel on the AS73. I have had the AS93FM for three weeks now and I am so impressed every time I plug it in. The ebony fretboard and neck are really nice. The tone is better than I could have asked. It just sings to me. The lows, mids, and highs are balanced nicely and the Super 58 custom pickups sound so good. I have a '91 Gibson Les Paul Studio and a 2019 Fender SSS Strat (all from GC over the last 28 years) and the tone from the Ibanez is just so good I can't hardly put it down. I play classic rock (AC/DC, Steve Miller, Joan Jett), Blues (BB, Bo), and some classic country (Cash, John Denver, Elvis), and the tone is better than I expected in every genre. The setup out of the box was good although I always change strings right away. I did polish the frets and oil the ebony board, but I didn't really need to. I highly recommend! Overall: I don't need to make this a long review simply because I can summarize this in a few short sentences. When you want way more value for the money you spend on a guitar this is what your looking for. Excellent build quality, materials, fit and finish, set up and hardware.Not one single adjustment has to be made when I first played it. It was dead on perfect. Action, neck relief, intonation, everything just flawless. As good as any Gibson Semi-hollow body I have ever played for 5 times less money. I don't know how Ibanez does it but they just proved it to me. This is now the crown jewel in my collection of 12 guitars that cost considerably more money. After 54 years of experience playing guitar all I can do is suggest you give this one a try if your looking for a world class semi-hollow body guitar, I would normally never give anything a perfect score but this time I am compelled to. This guitar is by far the best 8 string I have ever played. The extra scale length gives it the tuning stability an instrument like this needs, but at the same time, Ibanez have managed to keep it an extremely playable guitar. The pickup in this is absolutely outstanding, and incredibly versatile. This is a fun guitar to play and it has a really nice sound. The finish on the wood by the pickup where I rest my pinky shows serious wear in only 6 months. Shame because it's a really cool matte finish, but where my pinky has worn it down is shiny. The guitar came with a defected lock screw that broke off inside when trying to unscrew it. Cost an extra hundo to get that shipped back to Ibanez. Slightly annoying, but no big deal. The other lock screws have a "cheap" feel to them. Other than those minor things its a fun instrument. If you haven't played an eight, get ready to stretch your fingers out.Stamm

I didn't buy mine through Musicians Friend but I recently bought mine and I'm madly in love with it. First off it looks nothing like the pictures here. The grain pattern is wildly different from this picture. It's gorgeous. Everyone I show it to falls in love with it. Also the roasted maple neck is way darker and looks so sexy. If you're expecting a traditional Ibanez playing experience this is not your guitar. The neck is super thick but crazy comfortable and easy to play on. I hear everyone comparing it to a Fender modern C neck but it feels way more like a Les Paul neck or to be exact it feels exactly like the PRS SE Holcomb whereas it has a wider 20' radius on it so the two feel almost identical. Yes you can absolutely play fast on it. It's smooth, it's fast, it's amazing. Ok now I'm not sure if you're familiar with Suhr but I think somebody at Ibanez bought one and suddenly took instant inspiration from it because the two Suhr are alike (see what I did there? Lol). I mean come on the knobs are even the same lol. Which those knobs are really fantastic. If you like to fiddle knobs and flip switches when you play these are definitely killer too use from the top grip and overall feel of them. When comparing this to a Suhr does it feel like a $5k Suhr? No, of course not but it really does come close. The thing I like more about the Ibanez though is the tremendous versatility if the ten different pickup combinations via the two switches. There's not a single tone that you can't get with this guitar and it does it amazingly well. It definitely does metal but at the same time I beats the majority of single coil tones I've gotten from Tex Mex loaded USA strats. This guitar does it all. This is a very versatile guitar and is able to cover all of most guitarist needs. The roasted maple neck is perfect for this guitar. The pickups are very balanced and play clean very well. The pickups have enough output to play high gain or distortion if you need it. You can get a single coil Strat like tone with this guitar. With the selector switch and the added series / paralel switch you get 10 different tones. Limitless possibilities for a guitarist.deepspacecowboy111

It is light. The neck has a beautiful profile and the finish is very smooth. The pickups can be selected as single coil or full humbucker. A very good value guitar considering the features, the Seymour Duncan pickups and the Gotoh hardware.farrell4643

Qualité et finition irréprochables.Etui mallette tres soigné.Mais le manche est bien trop fin et plat pour moi ,malgré les avis que j'avais consulté qui annonçaient un radius plat de 12 certes mais un profil bien plus "vintage" en main que le wizzard usuel de la marque.Je reste perplexe par le choix des 10 positions promises :pour moi elles sont tres inhomogènes entre elles donc cela rend l'instrument inutile pour moi .Je préfère 3 ou 5 positions bien azimutées que les 10 proposées.Les positions 2 et 4 ,dites intermédiaires ,sont un échec selon moi.Que ce soit en mode humbucker ou coil split.Ravi d'avoir pu l'essayer néanmoins.Elle me faisait vraiment rêver.grunblatt g.

Overall: The guitar feels great! Only issue is that every hole on the guitar has paint issues, neck bolt holes, jack input, the cavity around the bridge etc.. . The bolts holding the neck look like they are starting to corrode as well. And those holes had marker around them? Side dots were sloppy. Very bad quality control. The neck is nice but it’s not worth the money in the condition it is in. I felt as tho it was an open box or blemished item as well. Everything looked tampered with and it was tuned to drop d. So this would be the second time I’m returning an item because it’s quality. I Still love Ibanez I feel zZounds is to blame more so than Ibanez? If I’m spending over 2000 on a guitar I expect it to be perfect.Douglas

I've always been a sucker for a good RG and have several that I love. This kept coming back around for consideration. I have had this guitar now for almost a year and it rose to the top. There's just something about it. The neck is not flat, doesn't feel "fast" at first grip, but somehow it's just magical and feels great. There's nothing I can't play on it now that I can play on others. I love the trem / tuning stability without having to deal with the locking nuts, drop D is a breeze in a flash. The trem doesn't have the full range of the Edge trems but still has plenty of give. I came back to review this tonight because I just realized the ultra lite trem UTA20 from the JS models fits it and was kind of excited about it. The Hyperion pickups are something else. Man this thing just sounds SO good. Bright grumbly tubey rock chords, takes gain just fine for harder stuff. Offers 9 different tone positions all of which can't lose. This is the swiss army knife of guitars and does it all. Don't compare this to Fender, it is clearly taking on Suhr and the like. You're not going to find a better guitar at this price point.M. R.

Die Verarbeitung der Gitarre ist in jeder hinsicht makellos. Die Gitarre kam schon guz eingestellt. Die Soundvielfalt ist mega. Die Qualität der einzelnen Sounds für meine Begriffe absolut top. Der klassische 5 wege Schalter plus die Erweiterung um den Modulationsschalter ergeben super abgestimmte Sounds, von brillanten Höhen bis crunchem Humbucker alles direkt abrufbar. Der enthaltene Koffer ist ebenfalls top. Mein neues Lieblingsinstrument!Rudolf

My 10 year old daughter has asked to learn guitar so I've started teaching her. In 38 years of playing this is the first time I've taught anyone and I've always been against the idea of short length guitars. I started with a couple of my electrics and they were all too heavy and she couldn't comfortably stretch down to the end of the neck to fret notes. I reneged and bought her the 3/4 length Ibanez GRGM21M and I'm amazed. As a below £200 guitar I'm astonished at the quality. Its exactly what I'd expect from Ibanez. Not 100% perfect set up straight out of the box but way more than enough for a beginner. She loves it. I think back to my first guitar and this is light years away from that. Superb beginners guitar, she's already really coming on after changing to something more comfortable, well worth it.Graham M.

I always liked the Ibanez instruments and products. This guitar for the money has a great sound, is light and small, very practical for people with small hands, or for children. Playability is nice, the pickups are good, hardware is good. It's versatile also for all types of genre's. Ideal for rock and metal, shreds real nice. If you're looking for a good but inexpensive guitar, this one is a good purchase. It's not only for beginners, it's for all level players.John
