The audio quality of this little pedal is outstanding. It gives 4-5x clean boost and after that the output ranges from subtle breakup to full-on rock distortion. It doesn't sound all that great with full-on distribution into a clean amp but few pedals do. But hitting a cranked am on the edge of breakup it sounds great. At full rotation the tone controls produce a flat response. Turning the controls back produces bass and treble cut which is exactly what an overdrive pedal needs to do to keep the distortion sounding crisp. This is a keeper.rockbroker

This is absolutely a shameless clone of the Timmy circuit by Paul Cochrane that walks the line between the Timmy and the hugely expensive Vemuram Jan Ray. For the money, this cannot be beat. It is EXCELLENT and works well with Fender amps (the Timmy did not work well with my fender amps so I sold it). If you want a transparent drive with fantastic tone shaping ability that can walk the line from boost to medium overdrive this is your pedal. I run mine towards the end of the chain and set it to simulate the edge of breakup on my amp. I can have clean with it off, hairy with it on and then hit it with whatever overdrive you have from medium gain to singing lead. I am sad that this may take money away from the person who had the original idea but having owned a Timmy and moved it on, this is AWESOME.saltlessjesus

I think this is going to be one of them pedals people will say I should have bought one of those Caline pure sky pedals… back in the day they were 30 bucks..lol… this replaced my Xotic pedals/ suhr pedal/tube amp/ Im using Quilter … works really good with non-tube amps… . I play a Fender Strat with Dimarzio pickups…I found that I had to lower the pickups and got even a better tone.. The pedals pots are sensitive and easy to find a sweet spot.. just buy it … Aloha!502nalu

This is the amazing Boss DS-1 distortion pedal, loved by all who use it. Amazing value at just £55. I won't bore you with stories about how robust it is, because we all know Boss equipment lasts forever. It looks and feels great, but most importantly, sounds incredible. I play punk rock, and with my Gibson SG Special, plugged into my Marshall JCM 900 this delivers exactly the sound I want. I loved that in the manual it gives example sound setting, one of which was British Punk. That just made me smile. I knew instantly it was right up my street. Oh, and if you're into electronics, this thing is made of pin-through-hole components, so it leaves it open for a good bit of modding. There are plenty of guides for that online. Sitting in my Boss BCB-30 pedal board this never fails to make me smile.Thomas B.

Now I don't hate it, but Its not my first go to pedal. I like the more modern BOSS "Metal Core". It is however like all BOSS PEDALS built like a tank, extremely reliable and a great first pedal. For the money, this is a super value. I found that I like it for "Gain Stacking" in combination with the BOSS MD-2"Mega Distortion" and a few other pedals. Even two DS-1 DISTORTION together improve the performance to me. Overall it's not terrible and I see were for some it could really be a price but I lean towards Heavy… Heavy Metal and for that it's more a corvette when you need a Lamborghini. I have a 60w Fender Deville amp. Lovely clean sounds straight from the amp but couldn't really use the overdrive channel without the volume getting to an inconsiderate level at home. This pedal has addressed that issue really well. This pedal now provides me really raunchy distortion while providing a greater control for volume. The pedal also provides a nice boost in changing between a clean channel directly from the amp and then through the pedal. Very pleased with this investment, particularly for the price. I should start by telling you all that i play modern metal, not classic rock or anything close. I bought this pedal a few years back hoping to squash out the hiss in my amp due to my use of an overdrive in front of the amp.I used it in front of my amp with a ts9 in its little effects loop. it was very difficult to get the start-stop quick djent style stuff i wanted without a feedback remnant always cutting in. also, there was a noticable amount of cut on any palm-muted notes and really any note played would not sustain naturally. any setting on the decay would not help. but, i had to have the threshold up pretty high to knock out the hiss. you must also know that i am using a horrific amount of gain with a 6505+. I have the post gain maxed out and most other things maxed out as well.After much research and saving, i invested in the isp decimater g-string. this product was on a whole other level. the things that the ns-2 lacked this thing just has. It senses when you are playing, instead of opening a gate when you play loud enough. Even with my extreme gain settings, overdrive in front, booster in the effects loop, and volume all the way up on my guitar, i can start-stop all day long just like periphery and animals as leaders. plus, my palm muted notes fade naturally as do normally fretted notes. Another thing i have recently learned is that the ns-2 manufacturing process uses lead free solder, whereas the ns-1 has lead based solder. This resulted in a big difference in signal integrity, and is very evident if you leave the pedal on bypass and play something, then removeit from the chain, and play something. it darkens the tone alot. In conclusion, if you want play the new styles of metal with all the gain and start-stop, buy the isp decimater g-string or pro rack g.MTloveit

This is a must have if you have a multitude of effects esp. overdrives, distortions at high gains and volume. Any nuance of movement on a string and the cats are climbing the curtains and your pissing off your neighbors 🙂 BUT! with this suppressor your sloppy metal play is crisp and tight full of clarity and your sound is cleaned up. It's a huge compliment to any pedal board. If your tired of excessive hum, buzzing or just white noise especially when using multiple pedals on a pedal board this is the solution. I mated mine with a BOSS LS-2 Line Selector pedal at the start of my pedal chain so every pedal is covered by it. It allows instant quiet after quick aggressive picking starts and stops while using heavy distortion. It's a "Fire and Forget" pedal for the most part if your running the same gear regularly. I use the Carbon Copy on a 4 pedal board – TU-2 CS-2. TS-9 M169 it's a great set-up, quiet and compact with awesome sound quality. The M169 gives great slap back echo's and awesome smooth ghost like repeats.Craig

As a bass player, I haven'tused any pedals before, but I wanted to add a bit of depth to my sound. I have been practicing through a Mackie mixer that has digital delay and it sounds pretty good. BUT, this analog pedal kicks it up a notch and sounds great. The delay sounds more natural and less harsh than the sound of the mixer. Starting with all the controls at their center, the effects sounded so impressive and I felt that my bass sound had new life. The bypass switch is clean and quiet and it does not color my original bass sound when in bypass. I love the wonderful analogue delay sound on this pedal. The controls are intuitive and responsive. It is extremely simple. Regardless of what setting you use your notes seem to stand out up front loud and clear while the magic of the delay unfolds behind your playing. And the mod feature is the icing on the cake. Overall: I have more overdrive pedals then I realistically need but my selection of distortion pedals has always been disappointing for my taste, just never the right tone regardless of the set up. I figured this pedal wasn’t too much and saw good reviews for the pedal historically. Yes there are differences from the originals to the model we have today but this distortion pedal is ridiculously versatile. The distortion pot is very broad and goes from a subtle O\D to a full faced fuzz and then when you sweep thru the filter, that’s where you see how versatile the Rat truly is. Is this a pedal geared towards the modern metal sound? Probably not. Is this pedal a good product for the price? Absolutely! The ease of use with the three control knobs just makes this pedal a great first buy or for those, like myself, who seemed to keep coming up short with distortion pedals, a truly simple and reliable tank of a stomp box. The Rat pedal is a classic and was my first pedal in 1986 when hi gain amps werent affordable to 15 year old kids. That pedal was mean ! It had the original lm308 chip and gave me the Kill Em All sound I craved. Fast forward to 2020 and the pedal has not changed much. Its mean and can give you fuzz to mean hi gain rhythm and violin line like sustain on leads. For $69.99 it is affordable and awesome. Cons : you cant power this pedal with a standard Boss power supply. Its either buy a Rat power supply/wall wart or run it on batteries. Also, the battery compartment is plastic and not as tank like as the rest of the pedal. The changing of chips does make the pedal lose some of its magic. The new chip is fine but I do miss the lm308 and maybe its hype Im falling for. It likely is. So what can you do ? I sent my pedal of to Utah to be rehoused. The pedal itself is hard to adhere to a pedalboard bc it is so heavy and awkward. So mine is being put in a more pedalboard friendly housing. Also, all the components like in and out jacks etc will be replaced/upgraded as well as some cheap components inside the pedal. You also get the lm308 chip. Hell yeah ! For $150 you get a massively improved pedal. Do you need to do this ? No of course not. But if you want the best Rat pedal youcan get ( which in the new housing also allows being powered by a Boss style power supply via wall wart or pedalboard) then the mod will be a fun way to modify an already smoking pedal.swampdonkey90

This is a great pedal and is very versatile. It can go from an overdriven tube amp tone at low gain settings to very thick heavy distortion/fuzz tone. I like to set the gain low to a nice overdriven tube amp tone and then have my boss SD-1 in front of it pushing the pedal harder. It gives it a nice 80s hair metal, Marshall JCM800 type tone. The tone of the pedal is great and it is very versatile and a good deal. It will stay on my pedal board. The other nice thing is is it's extremely easy to use with just 3 knobs and very easy to find a great tone. When I first got this pedal I didn't like how bright it was but that where the filter knob comes into play and you can roll off the brightness to match the guitar and amp you have and get a great tone. This allows you to play it on bright and dark amps a like. I use it with a Gibson Les Paul standard with burst bucket pro pickups into my 65 reissue fender Princeton reverb and I will also run it into my Boss katana MKii 50 watt. This pedal works great on both tube and solid state amps.Rhinosaur

Great little device. Different to a looper. Great for creating background washes of tonal color on-the-fly. If you got adept at it, you could use it to great effect in live performance. Personally, I use it to practice scales and arpeggios. Very effective and easy to use. I don't know how different or similar the electronics are, but it would be great to see this device combined with a looper. They're similar in concept. An extra stomp switch combination, and you could be looping, not just freezing. Not a criticism. Just a suggestion.jamesbwar

This is a great little pedal! Whether I need to sustain a note or chord while playing/riffing over the chord, and/or using it to hold a note in a live performance, this pedal can do it. It's a seamless sustain pedal that you can't hear when it's turned on or off. This far exceeded my expectations. It's a nice pedal it's like a sustain pedal for the piano but for the guitar. Really fun to use. Been using it on my gigs ever since I got it. Works great for ballads and intros. The only issue is the foot button makes a loud click. Seems that they would have put a silent one in over the loud clicking one. Also wondering why they couldn't have made it more like an actual pedal like a wah or volume pedal… I've never seen one for the guitar so I imagine it has something to do with capturing the sound. But electro-harmonix if you're reading there's an idea for you. I know a lot of guitarists that would love a pedal that you can work like a true sustain pedal.Marco

Great and versatile overdrive, compact for small, simple, lightweight boards. I've used mine in one session as a medium gain rhythm drive, a smooth light cleanish blues driver, and a saturated solo tone with a delay. Can also approximate fuzz or replace your clean booster. As for the tubescreamer comparisons, it's completely different. I've had an expensive tubescreamer for years that still has no mileage on it, and it's really only usable in combination with other things. The Nobels is good on its own, as the center of your sound on a clean amp, or complimenting your other effects.tillitsleeps

Great overdrive! I hadn't heard of the Nobels ODR and thought to try this out based on reviews and reputation. I was not disappointed in the least. It lives up to it in spades. Transparent and more tube like than many tube overdrive emulators I've tried. The only con is size. Some may like the small footprint but if you don't have tiny feet, it becomes a con rather than a pro.Dave

Among the best pedals I have used. Incredibly flexible, if you have the time to play with it, any sound may probably be reproduced. Even the simple presets as suggested in several places are good enough and probably more than one needs. The controls interplay and therefore small differences may be produced with different setups. I love it. This is the 2nd time I buy one, I was stupid enough to sell the 1st one. Its the safe pedal to keep in the gig bag to make sure you have a good starting point at any gig situation, with unknoun amplifiction. If it had a Reverb and a Delay, even basic ones, it would be the perfect multieffect (for me at least)microvios

This is a good little pedal and built like a tank. You could probably throw this off a roof and it would survive. Within the parameters of the pedal and what is was designed for, the variations of sounds available are almost infinite, and if I had more patience I'm sure I could take this pedal to the absolute limit of sound that American amps can produce. Clone of Sansamp Tech 21 and what an excellent product. I have 2 Joyo models and they each have a different character. Both really satisfying in the pursuit of audio excellence. I run live into a Mackie 1202 VLZ USA mixer. With delay, reverb, tremolo, phaser, flanger and light compression at lower volumes all these (mainly Joyo) pedals REALLY WORK. It's 'my amp' like it used to be when I had my Fender Deluxe Reverb 40w valve or my Mesa Boogie 1 x12". Without the Joyo AC (VOX) & the Joyo American I would be lost. Mike S. Melb. Aust.mikey1au

Playing through a 60's fender super reverb, it is thin, sort of a DS-1 sound or texture. This would work best, I think, through a half-stack style setup, which are usually bottom heavy. Through a classic clean amp, this pedal simply does not have a bottom end. This thing needs more sweepable eq to sculpt a tone out of it.sensaschon

It arrived a few days ago from MF. I want to highlight what I like about it without repeating the contents of its manual. Bottom line, for my usage replacing a Fender black panel Deluxe, a spring reverb, and a Tube Screamer, it is excellent. I am using the Vibro King amp model for most of my tweaking, but I also set up the Twin Reverb (super clean), Super Reverb, and Marshall JCM800 (crunch even with the guitar volume relatively low). The Twin model would not distort without a boost included in the "scene" even with my guitar and the model volumes at 10. That was the one anomaly from my expectations. I like the Vibro King model, amplified by my QSC CP8 (on the floor, on its side, backside EQ set to floor monitor), and do not prefer my now sold Tone Master Deluxe. The first thing I did was download the 2022-10-31 Firmware update and install it. Instructions to put the pedal in "DFU" mode to accept the update were missing. A YouTube video found via Google explained to hold both foot switches while powering up. Next, I installed the main NuX App for my Mac. I disabled the third "scene" such that the "scene foot switch" becomes a "scene" toggle (one cleaner, one with the Tube Screamer engaged, both with spring reverb). I then went through the amp models I planned to use (two "scenes" each, which must be done individually) and set all the controls to 12 o'clock. I tweaked the amp, spring reverb, and Tube Screamer to taste. I now have three ways to boost for an overdriven solo starting with the Vibro King as my clean base: turn up the guitar, foot switch to the Tube Screamer "scene", or foot switch to the JCM800 amp model. I explain all this detail because it took about an hour and without this work the pedal is disappointing. The software was almost easy enough to use without the nonexistent manuals (to do it again it would take much less time). Once done, everything can be adjusted via the knobs and optionally saved with the left foot switch. No menus to navigate at a gig. You can see in the pictures that it is quite small (Tube Screamer for reference), weighs exactly 1 lb. (less than that Tube Screamer), and draws only 3 watts. Leaving it run over night only gets it to room temperature. My old HX Stomp would have been hot to the touch and required a 20-watt power supply. Is it a Universal Audio quality Twin Reverb, Super Reverb, JCM800, or Vibro King modeler? Impossible for me to know. But for what I want, a classic black panel 60s Fender amp tone, spring reverb, and foot switchable Tube Screamer, it is a complete solution in a small package. No aspect of IO is missing (XLR, USB-C, ¼", 3.5mm, MIDI over USB). It also has an effects loop, graphic EQ, all the usual reverb types, 1024 IR loader, a selection of boost/overdrive/compression pedal models, and a noise gate which I've not tried. If one of the amp models is acceptably flat response you could use its 1024 IR loader, reverb collection, and compressor collection for your acoustic guitar too. Wow! What's missing? For my usage a master volume not associated or saved with an amp model "scene" would be nice. It does make a click when switching amp models or "scenes". Sometimes when switching amp models there is a noticeable delay.Jon

How odd. This review was flagged for writing Big Mu** using the two F's 🙂 For the money, this is a really hard pedal to beat. It goes from mild and laid-back to wild and intense. The controls feel great…like as in excellent quality. This is a reissue of the original Big Mu** PI. I tried a Big Mu** PI with Wicker and forget about it. It hissed so loud in Wicker mode that I couldn't even here myself think and it got even worse with the tone switch off. And even in the so-called Big Mu** PI mode, it didn't sound anywhere near as good as this Rams Head does. And, the Rams Head is quiet compared to the BM PI with Wicker. One more thing, The BM PI with Wicker does not say anywhere on it nor in the included paperwork where it's made, whereas the RH BM PI clearly says New York City on the face of it…Vincent

Overall: Floats like a stone and stings like a nest of angry hornets! This box has the buzzsaw sound down pat. The fuzz is a thick, smooth, and consistent. I like this kind of fuzz in particular because it’s less fuzzy and little more distortion-like. The Tone knob has a really wide sweep from boomy bass to mid-range Hades. It has plenty of gain on tap and even sounds pretty good with the guitar’s volume rolled back a skosh.I’ve never used the original Green Russian Muff and have only heard them compared through videos online, so I can’t speak as to how they’re different/alike. I got it because I didn’t want to haul my vintage Black Russian Muff around from gig to gig anymore because it’s getting valuable and since it was a pretty jenky design to begin with, it’s liable to break with heavy use. That being said, the reissue Green Russian Muff has a different sound than an original V8 Black Russian Muff. It doesn’t sound as good to me, but it’s not so different that I wouldn’t use the Green Russian live in lieu of the Black Russian for the aforementioned reasons. One huge plus for the Green Russian is its pedalboard friendly size. The Black Russian is the size of an 80s metal lunchbox and took up an awkward sized chunk of the pedalboard. Now there’s more room for other unnecessary boxes (gulp)! One noteworthy ding for this pedal is how difficult it is to see the script on the top of the pedal. The words are printed right underneath the knobs, so if it’s kinda dark (which it usually is) and the lights are all in front of you (which they usually are) the words are impossible to see. Overall it’s a nice fuzz especially for the price. It’s noisy, but once the music gets rolling you won’t even notice it.Brad

I was looking at purchasing a Helix LT and upon researching I came across the Pod Go Wireless. It does everything I required from the Helix but at less than half the price, size and weight. You can dial in some great tones, I use it through an 80w Marshall combi straight into the FX return (turning off the cab sim on the Pod) and it sounds very impressive. The amount of effects to choose from is incredible and you can tweak so many variables to get that perfect tone. The wah treadle is very good but it’s not so great when used as a volume pedal as it doesn’t seem to gradually increase/decrease the volume, it’s almost on/off. The wireless feature is very good, I’ve not had any connection issues and don’t have to worry about treading on my cable, which I’m very prone to. Overall, for what I need in a jamming/garage band capacity it is perfect and I’m very, very pleased with the purchase. PMT delivered the next day, it was very well packaged and was the best price I found on the internet.Martin M.

Having gone back and forth between digital / emulated effects and analog / practical effects, I decided to add a Small Clone to my pedalboard. If I had one complaint about the unit, it would be that it has a switch for two different depth settings instead of an adjustment pot. That said, when I plugged in I found that of the two settings available for depth there is one that suits me just fine. The pedal is very quiet, and does not color my tone in any way. True bypass is always an added benefit. Electro Harmonix builds these pedals to last, and I can’t see myself ever moving to another chorus pedal from this one. I’m in love. Rig – Fender USA strat with EMGs into a Peavey 6505 head / cabinet. The pedal adds great modulation to both clean tones and leads. BUY THIS.Nick in NH

The Small Clone gives an awesome chorus effect to your sound! I always wanted that full warm grunge sound and so I figured why not put that icing on that cake and get the gear the legend himself used. The quality build is crisp, the sound I'm getting is satisfying and the price is pocket/wallet friendly!! I must say that I'm far from disappointment! As a solo acoustic finger style player, I was looking for a very subtle effect to enhance instrumental parts. I've owned other choruses in the past, and was skeptical at its rather large size and single control knob–and only a depth switch. I was pleasantly surprised. I run depth on high, the control knob on low, and get a nice fat–but subtle-melodic sound from my Martin. I haven't experimented with it much, since I'm so pleased with this setting. Good value, well made-though perhaps rather 20th century style–and USA made. Just what I wanted for a slightly different sound to bounce between my vocal parts and instrumental/lead parts. The foot switch is loud, but not enough to affect my performance. All in all, very pleased.2 birds

Sounds great. Also surprising versatility with the HP/LP settings. One criticism is that its very loud. Slotting in after 2 boosts and an OD, then before a fuzz has played havoc with my gain structure as, with those other pedals operating within normal vol ranges, I've found the volume on the OCD needs to be most of the way down when using drive greater than 12-o-clock which is even more noticeable on the HP setting. Btw, that's into a highish headroom amp so if you were using the OCD to further drive an already breaking up amp into much more compression then probably not that great an issueReviewed by Andertons Music Co.

I needed something to stack along side of my TS that did not overpower the sound of the other pedal or sound too thick on its own. This pedal sounds fantastic with single coil pickups and pairs extremely well with other OD pedals. I like the fact it can run on either battery, 9V, or 18V AC connections, making this a great choice if you have limited ports on your power supply. On its own, it stands out very well when dialing up the drive settings and it sounds absolutely great coming through a properly dimed tube amplifier. It is no coincidence you see these pedals on the boards of many great professional players… This box just has excellent tone and all their products are handmade in the USA with plenty of care involved–making them a quality purchase. I am looking at collecting a couple of other earlier versions as some have tonal differences that work better with other set ups. Overall very satisfied with this purchase.built_for_speed

I've owned the Fulltone OCD for just over a week now and I can confidently say it's the best overdrive effects pedal I've ever had the pleasure of using. It has a sturdy build, it's versatile, it retains the original tone and colour of your guitar/amp combo and it's LOUD! I wanted a pedal that would fit compliment my '65 Twin Reverb Reissue amp and Telecaster, I love the tone of my setup but I really needed some bite in the shape of a good overdrive. After doing some research and seeing the name Fulltone OCD pop up again and again I started to get very curious about this pedal, the clincher was when I saw it on the pedal board of a guitarist on youtube who was showing off some of my favourite licks! This pedal is awesome. So easy to use & very responsive. Goes from a slight breakup to all out Randy-Esque tone. Now I Know why RR used this pedal. I love it. I have this going through the front of both my ENGL & Marshall Head. (Alone or with an EQ pedal) Just a tremendous tone. I went with 3 stars, but this isn't a bad pedal at all. It's classic, but MXR has since done much better. Once I got the Super Badass Distorion, I never used it again on my main board. Honestly for years I made the mistake of using the Distortion + as a main distortion. It functions much better as an overdrive through a dirty signal.

I'd recommend this pedal for a beginner or a hobbyist looking for a simple, user friendly distortion to beef up their sound. The more serious players, I'd say look further down the MXR line.Coffee Stain

This is a comparison between the (1983) Series 2000 model and the current Dunlop Re-release. In 1983 I bought the Dist+ after seeing it in the equipment lists of Alex Lifeson and some guy named Randy Rhoads. Upon hearing this wonderbox, I immediately traded away my previous (Ross) distortion pedal. After only thirty years, one of the pots showed signs of dying and I had to find a replacement. I considered Boss, among others, and read countless reviews. The Series 2000 was a superlative product with dual outputs; #1 was pure wet signal, #2 mixed the wet with dry signal. It had silent switching and was built like a tank. Finding a replacement promised to be a pain. I am grateful to the many reviewers of the Dunlop version who gave me the faith to buy the new model. I had to "daisy chain" the two pedals and swap back and forth to get "my sound" as the knobs on the two pedals are marked differently (Series 2000: Level/Drive, Dunlop: Output/Distortion). My efforts were successful and I marked the positions lest the knobs get bumped/moved. The Dunlop model allows for a higher level of distortion and has more gain than the Series 2000 so I am more than happy with the Dunlop version. Whether it will last thirty years remains to be seen but I wouldn't think twice about buying it again. My style is inspired by the psychedelic rock of the late 1960's and the Dist.+ gives a nice fuzzy Yardbirds sound. If you're looking for a metalhead pedal, this may not be the one for you but hey, if it was good enough for Saint Randy… (Note: Randy also used an MXR 10 Band EQ to thicken the bottom end.)Les Paul Disciple

I preordered this on AMS without, obviously, trying it out. I had only seen some clips from NAMM, etc. I wanted a ‘noisemaker’ more than anything…a little secret weapon with another flavor on my board. It’s a lot of fun so far. It mentions that it’s not intended for chords like several times in the manual. But honestly, that’s where it gets cool & weird. Like, seriously science fiction stuff. Try it with an expression pedal! I have one for my EQD Avalanche Run so I tried it out on the Mono Synth for kicks and it opened up a whole new level. This pedal is not for everyone but it’s definitely worth checking out.suede

An excellent pedal. Cool synth sounds with a reasonable amount of variation for each. Not perfect. Being monophonic, some of the sounds require you to be very deliberate when playing as even a slight slurring of notes can cause the pedal to have a little mental breakdown. Overall excellent. A brilliant pedal that adds so many options to your palette as a guitar player. Great that you can dial in authentic synth sounds (especially if you don't want to buy/soundcheck a synth just for a certain riffs) and loads of possibilities once it interacts with overdrives and fuzz.Steven K.

Having replaced my early 80's 'Series 2000' MXR Phaser with first an MXR Zakk Wylde Phase 90 and then a Boss PH-2, I found myself using phaser effects less and less. I didn't really dig the harmonic distortion. I have an MXR Uni-Vibe that I keep in the 'Vibrato' mode for the same reason. Somewhere along the way I learned that the vintage MXR phasers ("script logo") didn't have the feedback feature that creates the pungent harmonic distortion. I couldn't decide between the Script Logo reissues of the Phase 45 or the Phase 90 because I liked what each had to offer. Then I happened upon the Phase 95. This pedal combines all four variations of the aforementioned pedals into one compact beauty of a pedal. I run in into my Uni-Vibe and the sound is magnificent. Jimmy Page used a Phase 90 on several Led Zeppelin recordings ('Ten Years Gone', 'Achilles' Last Stand' & 'Nobody's Fault But Mine') and he was using the Script Logo model (because the Block Logo hadn't yet been produced). I'm a huge fan of MXR pedals – I own 11 of them – and this one only serves to burnish their reputation as the first place to look when buying effects pedals.Les Paul Disciple

It’s the classic phaser sound, but with added versatility. 45 is mellow and 90 is full on, which work well for different applications. I like 45 for clean and 90 for drive. Also script mode is worth a mention as it can significantly change the effect; which I prefer on for drive as it’s more focused. Only ‘good’ for features as speed setting only, but suits me as it sounds impressive as is, so would not want more parameters myself, but others might.Reviewed by guitarguitar custome

I been meaning to get a phaser to add to my 80s style guitar playing when I do covers with my friends. After trying this pedal out at Guitar Center, I fell in love and took it home to attach it to my board! It's small so it fits practically anywhere and the 9v adaptor is in the perfect location to plug it in either straight or sideways. The dial is very dynamic and you can go from a Flanger feel to an alien chopper with a turn of the knob. Also, a cool trait is that you can switch between a phase 90 OR a phase 45, so if you want to dial back the tone, press the button from Blue to Red and make your tone from there. My hearing ain't the greatest so I can't really hear what the "script" feature does or doesn't do, but it's there for those who knows what it does! This thing tracks well with my Julianna Chorus, Mel9 pedal, Bigsky, blues driver and Revv G3 along with the numerous other modulations and delays I have on my board. Highly recommended for hair metal players or those who like a little flair to their cleans!John
