This is going to be a marmite product – if you only plays Chicago blues you are going to struggle to find a use. However if you enjoy playing many other styles, it adds to your tone pallet. Gut feeling is it will take practice to get more than swoop up/down Morello impersonations- it's like a new instrument at my feet. As pitch shifters go it has impeccable tracking and wealth of features. It covers several other Digitech products in one rather large red box – going to need a bigger pedal board. One feature is the warbleless chorus. All that richness without the whooshing. Another feature is the fixed pitch shifting which lets it be used as a virtual capo. I use this only sparingly, but it is so awesome to be able to transpose my guitar a half step up or a half step down in seconds to play songs in the key our singer requests while keeping proper fingering and not needing addtional, alternately tuned guitars. Does an awesome job tracking, but again, I only go a half step up or down, so the sound quality is still really good….sure beats the hassle of bringing several guitars and having to switch. We tune a half step down, and I use it for this purpose on few of the songs we perform at gigs. I have this first in line, right after my guitar, so it works extremely well for whammy and drop/raise tuning applications, but since it is not in an effects loop, the harmony option doesn't sound good. I run this into the front of my Soldano SLO100. I also love the whammy side on rare occasion, to throw in a wild noise ,,,or if I'm ever asked to play any Rage Against the Machine songs. Again, I use it very rarely/sparingly, but I highly recommend and I love having it on my board for when I do use it.Al

This pedal is terrific. Very easy to learn and intuitive. It has two sides: on the left, you have your whammy/harmony effects, with some nice chorus-y sounding detune effects thrown in for good measure. On the right, you have your detune effects where you can go up or down seven semitones, or a full octave higher or lower, with or without dry signal. This means you can instantly take your standard tuned guitar down to C, or B, or hell, even A if you're TRVLY CVLT. You can play an octave lower with dry signal and voila, you now have a bassline running underneath your guitar. I bought this pedal because I love whammy effects, and originally was going to buy the Whammy 5, but this is that pedal PLUS the detune effects. This is especially useful with Floyd Rose or other floating bridge guitars. We all know what a pain in the @$$ those things are to tune.kdbrown777

Really great drum machine if you want something that's fairly quick and easy to get up and running. The samples are good, it has plenty of right hand rhythmic variation and grooves available via a rotary knob, and the ability to select alternate sounds (hat/ride/floor tom), (snare/cross-stick/tambourine) is really handy. The auto-generated chorus is also quite useful, especially if you want to create your drum parts on the fly. There is a bit of a learning curve, particularly if you want to utilize more than just its basic features, but it's worth diving into the manual to learn all that the SDRUM is capable of. I also recommend utilizing the optional foot switch in order to access its additional capabilities.jacobkaran

Amazing quality of features in such a compact pedal. Simple functions are super easy. I love that it can store up to 36 songs, each with its own verse, chorus, and bridge. The learning feature is so intelligent that it's almost scary. Be sure to read the online user's manual to understand all of the features and uses.dominic71280

Amazing all the features this pedal has, first thing when you get one is download full manuel. The best place to learn about this pedal is youtube by the pedal guy, very informative videos, 4 he has out on this pedal! Can be complicated at first but not bad after i watched videos on it. Learned everything now and theirs not much it doesnt do, it doesnt seem to like more than 2 bars or so with metronome on ive noticed but a really good pedal to learn timing and have fun with!pazdra2008

Had this on want list for awhile. Bought it new when I saw a price break of 17% on MF. Software & plugins misadvertised by IK multimedia. They make it sound like you get all the iOS and OS X plugins and amplitube included with the pedal. Well some you do as freebie hook and bait and others you have to buy. They do give you Amplitube 4 Deluxe which is good, (4)-T-Racks processors, Mic Room, Ableton Live 9 Lite (Mac/PC), Amplitube Acoustic, VocalLive and Mic Room for iOS .I already previously bought Amplitube Max for OS X and most of the iPad amps & stomp effects apps for iOS. Previously using iRig HD as interface into iPad Pro 12.9 1st Gen. This pedal allows you to control amp and stomp effects for live performances and studio using stomp mode and LIVE settings and to scroll between user saved settings and favorites. I am constantly tweaking my user settings. I mount iPad on separate stand with an extension cable not included, so I can control some settings with my fingers. tips and tricks. I like how IK Multimedia approaches tone through modeling Amplifiers very quality sounding industry top of the line manufacturers. Tuner is good. I figured out by accident by placing finger and holding on volume knobs on amps using ASSIGN CONTROL to assign a selected parameter to pedal or external controller. You can save this to your settings and the parameters you select are highlighted in faint yellow color. I was wanting to see a volume pedal and this satisfied my desire. Having to have an iPad or Computer is not cheap to use with this pedal, but top of the line stuff here IMHO. IK Multimedia is an Italian company and product. I would say this falls into the Ferrari category of effects and control pedals.JamnJohnny

I have been playing guitar for a long time. I was certified by the Recording Workshop in Ohio, for studio recording (though I am an amateur). I will admit, I already owned an iPhone 8s, and had already purchased a few of the amp models in the app to use with iRig HD, which I feel is important, because if this product is to be used with iOS, it comes with a very limited set of amps. On PC/Mac it has much wider utility out of the box. However, this product is great. The tones I have been getting are fantastic, I can emulate famous tones I hear on records, pretty much on the fly, the presets are not great, but the recording is, imo, high quality and sound really good. I have not used this on an iPhone 7, and have heard there are issues, but on PC and my iPhone 8s, it has worked great. Because I liked this so much, I splurged and bought a new iPad, and upgraded the software to the MAX version, and I really love, it. I have had the stomp for about a month and a half, and bought the iPad 12 days ago, I will be returning it and getting more storage, because I have already created so much new content from the ease of use, I am worried I'll fill up the smaller capacity at only 32gb. The only real negative I have experienced, has been: if I have the app running on my iOS device, and unplug and the stomp from my device, and then reconnect the stomp, it will not work. I have to stop the app, reconnect the stomp and restart the app. It's annoying but no big deal, as I don't have to unplug it very often in the middle of using it, but enough that I noticed the issue.Nel

First of all, I paid $200 for the floor pedal that controls my amp, and that’s all it does, but this for $300 for me wasn’t a hard choice honestly. The first thing I did was plug my phone into it, then ran a cable to my practice amp, and it sounds great! It was so easy to use since I already have AmpliTube for the iPhone, and I’m looking forward to checking out Ableton 10 lite and the AmpliTube custom shop (both came with it), but I also use some Positive Grid products, like Bias FX and JamUp. I was happily surprised to find out, with a small amount of “googling”, that this can be used with just about anything you’d want to use it with. You just have to slightly mess around with the midi assignments (look it up if you’re scared, it’s super easy) and you can use it as a controller for other amp/music programs and recording software. I think this thing is built like a tank, and since I used the payment plan through AMS, it was a really easy choice for the price.KillBill

Got mine over a year ago from eBay for 30. Works with the iPhone 4s well but the phone is now a tad out dated but the pedal is fantastic. Most of the downloaded pedals are free so playing around with them is fun. I would recommend this at a low cost, good for home use but lags somewhat for live as it can take time to load the next pedal.. Lovely sounding pedals tho.davedave1965

I have tried the boss ME series which is similar, but the DigiTech had more variety of tone and I. My opinion easier to dial in and make changes to your tone. Using in in pedal board mode is the best. Bypassing the amp modeling. It has XLR inputs so I can plug in properly to the soundboard when playing live. This is the third time I have come back to this pedal after being curious about others. I'm never leaving again. 🙂hockeylife29

Excellent sounds, and typical easy to use Digitech layout. Manual could be clearer. In my opinion, it's not QUITE as good as my Boss GT-100, but damn near. DAMN near. Only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is, it's original list price was close to $300, and at that price it should have soft-touch switches instead of the older style "dimmer" switches, and an effects loop. It DOES have XLR outputs for going direct, and that is a very useful feature. I promise you it's a bargain at 150 bucks, so 100 bucks is a steal.thatsjeffy

I am the original owner of a DIGITECH RP5. It's got to be over 25 years old. It still works but needs some minor repair. When I saw the DIGITECH RP500 on sale at ProAudioStar for $99, I thought "What a deal!" This multi-FX board has quite a few upgrades since I first purchased my RP5, including Bal / Unbalanced stereo In & Outputs and a USB interface. Fully programmable, it includes many of the best stomp box presets available today – all wrapped up in one package.As a bonus, It also features a programmable Expression pedal for Volume, LFO and WAH control. Fairly easy to setup, I've already experimented with a couple of preset Mods and am quite satisfied with the tones I am able to produce. With 100 pre-configured "factory" effects, and user-editable copies of each or them, you have a huge variety of sounds and uses. Even though I don't like some of the extreme distortion effects, some users may love them. For me, I just use the ones I like. I downloaded the full PDF manual from digitech's web site, and then made a copy of the page having the list of effects. I marked the ones I liked, and I keep it in my music folder with my chord sheets and lead sheets. I have about 25 favorites, and I can quickly switch between them with the pedal buttons.Jack Number 30

Versatile device. If you're new to the game this should take you through the intermediate level. Combine with a Looper, a function it does not have, and you're a Rock Star. An added useful function is, with headphones plugged in, you don't need a amplifier. It acts as, and can simulate, many classic amplifiers. Great if you're away from home and don't want to lug along your practice amp. Even has an "Acoustic Guitar Simulator". Suggest you check out the User's Manual on the Digitech website. The rp360xp is an excellent multi effects, amp and cabinet emulator. For a full rundown of what the unit can emulate, please see the manual online via the digitech website. In short, I have found the unit to be very easy to use and very robust. It’s metal housing is very reassuring and having all effects, amps and cabs self contained means there is no need for a pedal board with a bunch of patch cables and PSUs waiting to break. I plug the RP360xp into the mixing board of a Yamaha PA system and it sounds great. The unit has an option for outputting to with an amp/cab or PA system. Very useful to ensure the integrity of each patch. The rp360 can create a lot of authentic tones produced by popular amps and gear. However, to get the most out of it you will need to create your own patches to get the exact sound you are after. The factory presets installed with the unit tend to sound extreme, and will quickly fatigue most ears. I assume the extreme nature of most presets is to show off the rp360’s capabilities. Fortunately, coming up with you own patches is very straight forward, and made simple with a visual interface depicting a clean representation of an effects chain with pedals, amp, cab, EQ, gate, etc. Every item in the chain can be moved to the desired position and tweaked in real-time. User created tones can be saved as a patch and recalled instantly with the push of a stomp button, or dial of the select/data knob. The expression pedal of the XP is well built, made from the same material as the body, and has a good degree of travel. The rp360xp also supports usb connection to PC and the nexus software allows backup and transfer of patches. Backup occurs very quick. As an added bonus it is also possible to share and download other users patches. This is probably the best multi effects pedal produced by digitech since the original Johnson J-Station (Harmen/Digitech). It is feature rich, sturdy, and highly portable. There is a lot to love about the rp360xp, but there are a few quirks I must address. First, the rp360xp (and rp360) does not have a power switch on the unit. You just plug the PSU into the power outlet and it turns on automatically. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, it just seems ‘odd’. I got over it’s absence fairly quickly. I also feel the quality of the Harmen branded PSU could be better. Specifically the wired cable could be thicker. It’s plastic sheath seems a little cheap and likely to fray if stepped on. Considering this device is built for performance (and the unit’s price) I would expect a power supply/cable built for rugged conditions. A greater issue (in my opinion) is the absence of a dual delay pedal or the ability to chain two delays. The delays included are great (even nice tape delay) but I would have liked the inclusion of a dual delay. On this point, the inclusion of an FX loop might have been nice so I could add my own ‘exotic’ pedal into the mix, but I guess that might have increased the size of the unit. I know it is probably a lot to ask, but the RP360XP seem worthy of such an inclusion. I had another minor issue with the the effects chain categories; only one effect from a category can be used. For example, both chorus and pitch bend Belong to the ‘modulation’ category so you have to choose one effect over the other. Also, it is not possible to delete one effects category from the chain and replace it with another. For example, say I didn’t need distortion or wah, so I delete either of those effect categories and add in a second modulation box for my chorus and pitch bend. Sadly, not possible. I feel this could be fixed with a firmware update, but after browsing digitech’s sight I was not able to identify news on future updates, or even a run down of past firmware updates/patch notes. The last negative was a faulty power supply that came with my unit. It simply wasn’t supplying enough power to the rp360xp and would cause it to shut off randomly (perhaps the wiring had frayed—see my earlier comment). Fortunately, my local retailer, Manny’s, swapped the entire unit over without fuss (thanks Chris!). No issues since replacing the unit. All-in-all I am exceedingly happy with the rp360xp. A great alternative to lugging around an amp, and with some tweaking the rp360xp produces very usable and authentic tones. Cheers, Michael.Michael H.

I have been using an RP360XP for about 4 years now and i am very happy with it. my big duck feet will sometimes turn on the looper by mistake, but other than that user error, i find it a very usable and durable effects unit.creativebecky

I did receive the pedal and it seem to work fine as far as I can tell for the short time I have own it but the pedal was not as advertised. It was suppose to be new/sealed in the box but it was not, it also had a scratch that was cover with a sharpie but I did save a few dollars so I can live with that so in short I will rate the product a four. I also wasnt sure if I could register the product but because of the open box but I did and everything was fine.myc_78

The Good: When removing the amp/cab models, it sounds great driving a VOX AC15 directly into the guitar input the way you would with similar stomp boxes. Also works great direct to PA with acoustic guitars. Haven't tried amp/cab models to PA or FRFR, but there are a lot of them in there. It has tons of fuzz/dist models. It's really easy to program. I love that there is a separate Volume level for each patch, and also a global Master level. It has a great compact footprint size. The metal casing and solid buttons and switches feel sturdy. The Not So Good: After one gig, one of the rubber feet already fell off. It's too easy to start the looper even though you have to press both buttons 2 and 3. I wish there was a way to just disable the looper in the software, but there's not. The Wah can engage very easily if you're using the expression pedal to change other parameters like volume or drive. It doesn't take much pressure on the toe to engage Wah. Having said all that, it's still a great value and I'm glad it's working out for me overall.napynap

I like unit, seems sturdy. Alot of great sounds – many I'll never use. Two drawbacks: first the looper didnt work. That was disappointing but not enough to make me return it. Way worse, to activate the tuner you have to click & hold two buttons simultaneously. I am unable to get the hang of it. Sounds simple but is not. So I use a portable tuner instead. Did not have this problem with earlier version. But I have a workaround so I still use it and enjoy it. Plus software that allows you to view the & chg the pedal setup really cool.gleasorx

I actually had toured with a rp1000 and it sounded quite good what was a bit dated foot switches were really noisy etcetera so I decided to try out the rp360 XP. I'll keep it short… It's a great unit good sounds relatively quiet easy to navigate especially once you get used to the editing software and you plug it into your computer. But I have one monster complaint about this unit… The Looper! You have to tap the two right buttons when you're in stop mode and on stage it's super easy to do that and once it's activated there's no off button? I'm not kidding you end up with a screen that shows you your Loop options but no way to get back to your other presets which of the preset that you're on you are stuck working at the Looper interface I have found the only way to deal with this is to unplug it and plug it back in which I have done … on stage! For shame DigiTech. I recommend it but be awarejcwheels-n-deals

I love this thing, easy to connect to my ipad and runs my pedals just like I had hoped. No lag, quick to change when pressed. I use this for live music and this allowed me to remove the small pedal board that was there and use the effects I want to use. I use this with Bias FX but had have other simulator apps that it works with as well. Shipped fast and was a good price.scott

The bluetooth connectivity is fantastic, and will stay connected up to 30 yards away from the device you are controlling! It never drops out, and has a companion app that allows you to fully customize the pedal to work with whatever format you are using it with. You want to buy this pedal if you are running Bias Amp, Bias FX, Or Jam Up Pro, as I can control all of those apps, as well as my Amplitube 4 app all thru my IPAD, and it is the greatest sound I have ever been able to attain with my guitars before!!!!Scott

The blueboard is a nice addition to my setup. I play guitar through my iPad a lot and hooking the blueboard to switch to different Amplitube setups is nice and easy. The board is a little on the small side and is plastic but it's built pretty solid. The manual is brief and i had to go online to get more in-depth instructions about some of the advanced features of the board but syncing the bluetooth was easy. just put in the battery and i had it working in 5 minutes.JM3202

I bought this pedal used for 35 bucks and I haven't stopped using it since it arrived last week. This pedal is durable with complete metal housing, metal pedals and well built solid controls. I leave mine plugged in for hours at a time and it doesn't get hot, which is a big difference from other comparable pedals. The tone dial allows you to switch between different amplifier simulations and boasts 16 different combo's that are sure to satisfy guitarists of many genre's and styles. The effect dial allows you to add a ton of different effects, like phaser, flanger, delay, reverb and many others to your over all sound. There is another dial that allows you to control the depth of the effect you are using and a master volume dial to control sound output. It has an easy to control bypass function, a drum machine and a rocker pedal for wah wah simulating. This pedal is very user friendly and it's all around easy to control. This pedal also has a dedicated channel for you to customize your own sound, using any of the built in effects that you want with a little pre programming. Learning my way around this awesome pedal has been and will continue to be a positive overall experience and a very welcome addition to my own sound as a final product. I'm glad I decided to give it a try and itis most certainly money well spent.spoiledbrat.me

Very useful tool for practicing and recording or performing live within reason. Stereo outputs, Aux in, USB connection for streaming or X-Edit download, Mixer/Amp switch and Headphone option all very useful for me. I bought this for my 16 year old son, and the price was right. He loves it. It's perfect for him to explore and practice fine tuning his capabilities. Nothing is perfect so a 5-star rating on most anything isn’t very useful without critical review when trying to make a purchase decision so I would give it 2.5 stars if I could. The Trio+ concept was a good idea but in my view poorly executed and way over priced. Like many have already said, it is not generally easy to get a good result from the Trio+ Even after a few weeks of getting to grips with its functions. It’s hit and miss mostly when using it and mostly miss. “Sometimes” you can get “fairly decent“ results after multiple attempts but often the result is unusable. Their SDRUM product while not a looper provides better drum/bass accompaniment with much less fuss, is much easier to use and less expensive. The SDRUM coupled with their JamMan looper is far more intuitive and provides usable good results most of the time. I own both products and I use the SDRUM almost always instead of the Trio+. The trio+ just doesn’t live up to its cost or hype. Sometimes it works ok but just ok. If you get the results you want then maybe it’s for you but in my view I couldn’t in good faith recommend it to a friend so I definitely would not rec to a stranger. My advice is to get an SDRUM and if you need it get Digitech’s stand alone Looper to sync with it. That combo isn’t perfect either but far more satisfying and predictable to use. I do not recommend the Trio+ to anyone.Dennie

I've had two of these pedals die over the last couple years. The first one died one month after the warranty expired – when plugging it in, two LEDs lit up and it wouldn't pass signal. Contacted Difitech & they swapped it with another. 13 months later, the same thing happened. Digitech said someone from service would contact me but the never did. At this point I don't want it fixed and I don't want another pedal. Too unreliable.guitarz6

When I watched the videos about this pedal, I had to have it. Once I plugged it in, I was a little disappointed. It did what it said it was going to do. With some tweaks, I got the desired effect. For that feedback sound, it really only works best with single sustained notes. Chords or power chords work, but not as well. I'm not sure if this is just a novelty, or if this is going to be a useful tool. The best mode is the momentary latch ON with dry ON. This gives the ability for feedback on demand. I can see using it on solos or ending a song. The other options like momentary OFF or dry OFF, have that eBow sound. Personly, it didn't seem that useful for my style. One note on the sound. If you use the Freqout with a clean tone, you can tell what the pedal is doing. When the "feedback" is enabled, a harmonic tone drones over the dry signal then slowly takes over like a reverse gate. I quicky realised this guy needs some fuzz.Billy the Kid

Overall: Finally got another Whammy V after missing my prior one in a "stupid-sell all-great new multi unit dumb idea". Not sure what to say about this pedal as it would seem of the many vids I have seen on it, I cast doubt if anyone really can understand how to use it without having one for a time. I constantly hear this "weeeeoooo" thing and really that might be of use now and then but what nails this pedal for me is the harmonizer mode section. 8va's and 4ths,5ths, utterly amazing. This is not so much a moving the pedal thing as everyone seems to want to do. Most of th etime mine is parked up or dwn for a specific harmony or maybe a sweep of low to high octave, play a version of Dazed and Confused using this and you may just never be the same. The lowered 5th harmonizer mode on this puppy is probably one of the best all time tones I have ever had the pleasure of playing. A harmonizer, with no set key or scale restriction, polyphonic tracking, true bypass, I'd pay more just for that. The DT model is cool but I am not really doing step tuning variants. Anyway, this pedal is sooooo much better than what you will hear being done on typical vids. Mastering this puppy will afford you a range of really cool tone possibilities nothing else can muster. Those who hate this pedal suffer from the terrible videos of it or the old models that glitch and burble from only being monophonic tracking. The buffer has been removed and this is improved poly tracking tech! Full bandwidth 1M ohm and out. Simply no comparison tech wise to the previous models.Whambam

I love how certain players use this pedal. Bucketed is the absolute master of the Digitech Whammy. I like Buckethead and got a whammy to try for myself. The only time I actually use it during performance as a ad-lib bit. The problem is that when its engaged it sucks the life out of your tone. Its like going from an all tube amp to using an iRig to play your guitar through your cell phones speakers. The effects are crazy awesome though. People that don't know gear that hear you play, bug out when they are trying to figure out how in the world you are getting those crazy sounds. The pedal needs recalibrate all the time. For no reason, even when you have the pedal on heel down, when you engage the unit the pitch will shift. The dive bomb effects are crazy for weird rumbling effects. All in all, typical of my experience with Digitech, they aren the best effects tonally. But if you want to go weeeee-ooohhhhh, weed-ohhhhhh a bunch for the fun of it, this is your pedalSpaceman Spiff

Bought this in a heartbeat to replace my Digitech Whammy IV, which is a fantastic pedal but lacks the sound quality and additional features of this latest version: the Whammy V. For the uninitiated: The Digitech Whammy is a versatile pitch-shifting, harmonizer, octave, drop-tune, and chorus pedal used extensively by at least one of your favorite pro guitarists: Johnny Greenwood, Tom Morello, Jack White, Matt Bellamy, Buckethead, and countless others. I use it not just to replicate parts of their songs–Johnny's +2-octave riff in "Just", the solo in "Like a Stone", the "bass" line in "Seven Nation Army"–but in plenty of my own songs, both live and in the studio. The construction is solid and designed for both touring and in-studio use–durable but not too heavy, big but not obnoxious. Next, the upgrades: This new Whammy comes with two huge improvements. The first is true-bypass switching. Previous models are well known for being tone-sucking beasts, and although there is still a noticeable change in your sound when this latest version is on, when it's off it's off. The other massive upgrade is polyphonic tracking while pitch-shifting, which means it can shift entire chords up or down without sounding glitchy or garbled (e.g., "My Iron Lung"). For people who like that glitchy Whammy IV sound and want the option to use it, there's now a Classic/Chords switch which lets you do just that. On the cosmetic side, Digitech renamed a few modes, reorganized the layout, and brought back the Whammy logo on the expression pedal. All of these upgrades are godsends for long-time users. Finally, the drawbacks: First, as always, there is no "intelligent" harmonizer setting, so you're still limited to choosing an interval–4th, 5th, 7th–and not a key–Bb, C#, E–for your harmonies. Also, this latest version keeps the MIDI jack but ditches the dry output, which is a bummer. I was looking at purchasing a Helix LT and upon researching I came across the Pod Go Wireless. It does everything I required from the Helix but at less than half the price, size and weight. You can dial in some great tones, I use it through an 80w Marshall combi straight into the FX return (turning off the cab sim on the Pod) and it sounds very impressive. The amount of effects to choose from is incredible and you can tweak so many variables to get that perfect tone. The wah treadle is very good but it’s not so great when used as a volume pedal as it doesn’t seem to gradually increase/decrease the volume, it’s almost on/off. The wireless feature is very good, I’ve not had any connection issues and don’t have to worry about treading on my cable, which I’m very prone to. Overall, for what I need in a jamming/garage band capacity it is perfect and I’m very, very pleased with the purchase. PMT delivered the next day, it was very well packaged and was the best price I found on the internet.Martin M.

Sound: The sound on this board is amazing, I fee it’s also very responsive to your playing and you get that responsive feedback. Makes me feel like it’s easier and more joyful to play my guitar. I will say this you have to tweak settings to get your sound typically the pre made ones aren’t the best. Overall: Ok so first off I’m new to this thing, I never thought I get away from tube amps, but….this headrush caught my attention and I love it! I like the simplicity of it and it produces great models plus sounds really authentic for what it does. I will recommend pairing with headrush frfr108 or frfr 12 or a frfr (Full range flat response) speaker instead of an amp. That way you get the absolute most out of this. I got the headrush frfr108 and it’s sounds amazing! too. As far as the headrush’s competition I haven’t used them yet. But end of the day it’s all personal preference. First off, DO NOT judge the tones of this pedalboard by the preset rigs, they're pretty bad. Build new rigs from scratch and you will discover what this unit is capable of producing. It's not overloaded with every effect pedal out there, but there is more than enough to get any tone you want from Jazz, Country, Rock, Metal, and Blues. For overdriven and distorted tones, it may seem like you only have a few pedals to choose from, but once you combine them with all the various amps, cabs, mics, and impulse responses, you have hundreds of tones in your sound pallet. As for modulation and delay effects, it has all you need to produce any tone. Real Amps and FX Loop – In addition, you can use any of your favorite effects in the FX loop of the pedalboard. It also works great with tube amps and can work in a "four wire" setup with your modulation and delay effects going through the amplifiers FX loop. You can also run into the PA and to a stage tube amp simultaneously. Virtual Amps and IR's – The amps and impulse responses sound fantastic. I have several vintage tube amps and I am able to reproduce the same tones of mic'ing up those amps from this pedalboard directly to the PA or a recording desk. It has the easiest user interface of any of the pedalboards out there. If you can use a smartphone or tablet, this will be very easy to learn. One of the best features is the ability to assign the footswitches to any pedal or multiple pedals (scene function), or do either toggle or momentary mode. In addition, the mini screens for each footswitch change when you assign it to different pedals so it's easy to see what effects you are turning on and off in live performance. In addition, you can name a scene footswitch anything you want (e.g. Clean, Crunch, Solo, etc.). Makes live performance very easy, no more stomp pedal dancing. Set Lists – Organizing rigs into set lists to match your gigs and you can organize your rigs into groups based on type, song, genre, etc.Tod

Overall: First of all, I am pretty sold school when it comes to amps and effects. A simple tube amp pushed with a couple of tube screamers, the on board reverb from the amp itself, and some modulation like delay and chorus. I joined a band a few years back that was about to go into the studio to record an album the year before covid struck. As a result, I ended up buying a Pod HD500X as a way to try to consolidate the effects that I might need all in one unit. I used it mainly as a "pedal board" in front of the [tube] amp as if it were my old analog board full of individual pedals. Needless to say, the recording project got pushed back because of the pandemic, and I was stuck at home, with a lot of time to play around with the processor. It was "good" but it left me wanting an easier to use option. As you could imagine, what that kind of time on my hands, I did a lot of floating around the internet just looking at possible modelers. All of the names. Kemper, Helix, Axe FX, Fractal, and this HeadRush board. Out of everything that was out there, the HeadRush board seemed to be VASTLY easier to try to figure out. Pushing my late 40s now, I don't really 'enjoy' learning new technology the way I did in my teens and twenties, so I didn't want a steep learning curve just to be able to use this thing. I spent a day while it was being shipped looking over youtube tutorials as to how to use it. Only took me a few hours of messing around with it once it got here to dial in the tone that I had on the HD500X. If you can use your cell phone, you can figure this board out. The effects sound convincing and the amp models really seem as good as the competition's offerings (even if this board doesn't have quite as many jammed into it). We are about three weeks out from going in to start laying down the guide tracks for this LP [finally], and this will make things much easier to navigate when each little tone will be more heavily scrutinized. The ability to tweak it on the fly will save time (and thus MONEY) in that studio environment. No deep dives into large menus to try to make a minor adjustment. Gives me a lot more freedom to just try to play my parts instead of worrying about the setup itself. I think this board is a bit underrated as far as the amps and cabs as well. I still will be running it to my amplifier and mic-ing it up as I do still like the "feel" that tubes give when playing. But who knows, I may use some of the sims as well. Built like a tank. A bit heavier than I had expected. Should hold up well under live applications (though that was actually not a problem with the 500X either). I highly recommend this unit if you want to get something that doesn't take a degree from Berklee in sound engineering to get started making music.Kenneth

I connect this to a Moog Minitaur for adding low end to church praise music, and it works flawlessly for that. Super simple and, for me, was plug and play. Good feel under the feet. This is my first set of bass pedals, and I am extremely happy with the purchase.JVL

I've used this for a long time and its hooked up to my xk-3 now. I seldom use any of the program features. The hammond recognizes it with no problem. 17 pedals is enough to do decent bass parts. I don't think I'd be happy with 13. No issues with this product ever.dave

Ive got this since I wanted to rightsize my pedalboard (not downsize!), and that being having smaller and less pedals. Ive watched some videos and it looked good, but I wasnt completely convinced since theres no expression pedal. This is thing is super convenient, sounds amazing and its small. Tracking is fantastic! Whammy has that glitchiness which is not fond of it and using the 1 tone down was kind of crappy but did the job. Ricochet tracks way better and you can do tons of stuff with it. This is a great pedal if you are looking to add chord tones to your playing. This effect requires some imagination but if you are a "School Days" fan that is a good place to start realizing the possiblities. This is a solidly built and great sounding pedal but I realize it won't fit a lot of bass players styles. It works for me though!ChillyG

I own the original and this exceeds my expectations. I'm A little disappointed that digitech eliiminated the gain dial from the original model as it does drop your signal down a little. I also miss the push button selection, but this thing is way more sturdy. I love that they retained all the original settings and added a few more. Tracking is significantly improved over the original. 9 volt input is a welcome change. :D.Mike
