Sound: It's a basic looper, but the footswitch allows to stop with one tap. All I need for acoustic show. Overall: I purchased the RC-1 for my weekly acoustic shows to replace my RC-300 that I purchased several years ago and love to use, but after lugging up three floors for a show at a wine bar, and the fact that I don't even use the 2nd and 3rd tracks for acoustic show, I decided the only thing I really need for most of my acoustic looping was just one track. In no way could I get used to double-tap to stop, but I have my FS-6 footswitch that works great to stop the RC-1 with one tap AND I can move the footswitch a few feet away so I don't have to be 'perfect' on the stepping like I would the Rc-300. I would still use the 300 for rock/electric shows, as it has mega capabilities, but for my acoustic show where i just usually either want to loop the solo section, or the entire song, this little inexpensive RC-1 works great, and the $100 price justifies the purchase.
For a compact looper pedal this has, great features. The deal breaker is the circular led panel. While this pedal functions in a basic way the led tells you exactly what is happening and where you are in you loop. That knowledge makes me far more confident to use it live. You can end the playback and erase the loop silently or pause the playback and use it again – useful if a lead break is later in the song. You record the rhythm part, pause it and start it later on in the song. There options for adding extra pedal to control things but I found I got on OK without them. Basically a solid looper with a useful display that is, easy to read in a live situation. The trick to silently erase is to double tap and hold the second tap. Stops instantly and the erases a couple of seconds later – this isn't clear in the instructions.David M.

Maybe not for the touring professional who needs every bell and whistle, but for beginners or intermediates it's a really solid feature set and great quality at a price point that is just a hair over the price of some much more basic units. Spend the extra $20 and get a pedal you'll love! Loopers are super fun, this one is no exception. There is a learning curve but that's more on the player than the pedal. (If your timing/coordination are not on point, a looper, like any recording method, will really highlight that.) Another great effects pedal from BOSS. The DD-7 is quite like a 'Swiss-Army-Knife' in the realm of compact delay pedals. Built with the standard of quality that BOSS is known for. The delay range is amazingly vast from 1ms to 6.4 seconds, plus a 40 second looper, as well as assorted delay types like modulation, analog and reverse. I haven't purchased a Boss delay for years. I did buy a DM-2 Waza to retire my vintage unit. I've just always been an analog delay guy. However, I bought the DD-8 on a whim because I needed a delay for a project that required some specific sounds. Namely a stereo reverse delay sound. I figured I'd give this one a try. This is a home run pedal. Every notch on the mode knob yielded usable and inspiring delays. The only part that I haven't used is the looper but if it works like the other modes, I'm sure it's excellent. No regrets here on this one. It might even knock a Strymon delay off of my main board.JV
Really delivers a lot for the price point. I wanted a delay to do nearly everything and do it well, and this does it. I'm more of a digi, tape & analog delay user, and I don't care much for the more "out there" options, but they are fun to mess with. I use this in mono 99% of the time, so my only gripe against the pedal doesn't really matter much at all. I wish it had a wider stereo field and wish it had a ping pong options in settings, but again, I use it in mono mostly, so no big deal. The DD-200 is super easy to dial in and presets work simply. I like that it has a dedicated Manual mode so I can just use it without worrying about presets. Awesome delay.KC

I had and have high expectations for this unit. So far, it has been able to do nearly everything I've tried and I'm assuming some of the things I've failed at will be possible once I'm more familiar with the unit. So far I've done the following: 1. connected 3 midi devices (note: you will need probably need a midi thru box which is another 50) and send messages to each to turn on or switch their programs when I change patches on the es-5. I also have assigned CC messages to the assign button so I can do things like the divebomb effect in the Black Keys' Lonely Boy without using a pedal (just hit the channel switch, and it bombs until I let up the switch and it returns to pitch – this is achieved by connecting to my Whammy DT). 2. Connected 5 pedals in the loops and have dozens of patches created to turn on and off individual ones. I've also created many patches that allow me to hit the channel switch and turn on or off multiple loops at a time (guitar solo). 3. I've set up my banks to all be 1 bank per song. On some, I've created completely different sounds going from patch 1 to another. In others, I've created different options (turning off and on different patches on midi controlled pedals so I have different sounds to choose from for a song depending on what sound I like that day). In others, I've created versions of the 1st patch but bumped up and down by 3dB when I'm not sure how it will sound in a group environment (so I can quickly bump up or down the volume based on the patch). 4. Reasigned the 5th patch in each bank to mute. Things I haven't been able to do: 1. Fender 2 button amp switches have a resistor that controls whether the channel or reverb is being turned on/off via a mono cable. There appears to be no way to incorporate this in the es-5. 2. I have a boss EV-5 clone and tried using it to control various effects on my Mobius, Boss ME5, and Line6 M5 but failed. 3. No group switch (I reassigned the mute switch to group up).macjohn
Overall: I can't tell you how long I've been using BOSS and Roland products, but somehow I haven't thought of anything to say. Even though I've enjoyed their products throughout the years performing and recording with them. Well first it's affordable. After scouring the internet looking for a innovative, powerful switching system where the price was right, I finally came across the BOSS ES 8. Even though it arrived a little late in the pro switching system game, their incredible features and a doable price was just what the doctor ordered. Second, it's built like a tank and can handle the road for extensive touring. BOSS never makes flimsy products IMHO. An important feature I admire the most is that no matter where you place pedals on your pedal board, the ES-8 will allow you to place each pedal in any order. Because of that and it's powerful MIDI features, I'm able to assign any of my fourteen pedals in any order in any patch and bank. Yes, fourteen. You don't have to settle for just eight pedals on your board because you see eight programable switches. As with all of there products, even though the programming is easy, the possibilities is limitless. After I've spent some time with it to see how best it could serve my needs in the studio and during live performances, I came to the conclusion that I've made the right choice purchasing this product. It's a beautiful tool that will be in my arsenal for some years to come.Clifford

You can even use the mute button as a bank up or down button so you don't have to run through the banks 1-5 before you can get back to the bank you want. Takes some reading to get going, but once you figure out the first patch the rest is pretty simple. Much more to this thing than meets the eye. I was pleasantly surprised!Keith

Very convenient pedal that takes up very little space but does a whole lot. it has a quality preamp and di, so you can go straight to the board and leave the amp at home if you wish. you also get some key effects: chorus, octaver, fuzz/synth, boost, and tuner. for a lot of bass players, this maybe all they need. i bought it because i wanted a small set up for my gigs that i wasn't going to need a lot of effects for or need to drastically change my tone from song to song. it served its purpose well until i bought my helix. once i got that, i just had to bring it to all my gigs. so i haven't been using this pedal anymore and probably won't anytime soon, thus why i'm listing it. it still works great but does have a bit of cosmetic wear on it (as shown in the pics).

This is a great multi effects pedal/DI. Its all I need. Dont let its small size fool you. Its got some weight to it, so I assume its probably well built. All metal. Each effects sections knobs light up a different color. Tuner is accurate. I didnt give a full 5 stars because I wouldve liked a rate knob in the chorus section & maybe some more options in the compressor section. Overall, I recommend this pedal. Pleasantly surprised with the build & sound quality. I doubt Ill use the Dirty Q (envelope filter) much but its there if I need it. I bought this to use for expression pedal #3 on my line 6 Helix. First, I had to open it up and flip the little blue switch inside. That fixed the problem where it went from min to max and back to min all in the heel to toe stroke. Then i had invert the operation in the helix programming (heel position gives 100% and toe position gives 0% from the helix point of view) After doing that, it works perfect!JT

6. Boss Es 8 Effects Switching System

I'm going into a modelled setup so all my old pedal gear is available. i'm selling these together as a pedalboard setup, or separately. basically new es8, box and all. after a prolonged period of complicating my setup i've decided to u-turn and simplify to the max. save yourself a few quid on a board ready setup! i'm also selling the boss tu3s, the boss tuner designed for the tuner out on this the es8 also included are boss bck solder less patch cables and two.inatrument cables (both 15 foot). usually these run for around 90 quid for 12 cables, but here i have 28 complete ones of varying lengths (as long as 60/70cm) as they were used on my board. there's also some spare lengths of cable, and obviously they can be adjusted. all you need is some clippers and a small flat head screwdriver. usually these would run you over 200 quid to get them separate, and considering how long some of my runs were you could save yourself quite a pretty penny over buying new.

I used a Boss SD-9 until it broke, and I have an 80's ProCo Rat that doesn't quite work as the edge that I was looking for. I was using a Chinese T'Screamer clone pedal, and it was good…but I thought, wouldn't the real thing be better? I weighed price against quality and quality won out, and I went with the Maxon instead of the Ibanez TS simply because the reviews overall were better. I'm not disappointed; the OD-9 is exactly the rocket fuel I was needing to get into the cosmos. Running the 50's Classic Strat through the OD-9 into a Deluxe Reverb is like finding gold. It sounds like a beautiful, buxom angel is sitting on top of your amp and singing Glory Glory Hallelujah. It is the sound you wanted all along and never, until this moment, could you get. For additional fire, to invoke an angry, but still buxom, angel, I run the Rat after the OD-9 to dial in a little bit more divine wrath. This is the pedal you want. This pedal, IS the pedal. So it is written, so it shall be done.
I ordered in store and was told I'd get it 3-5 days. I ended up getting it after almost 2 weeks. Had the run around with fed ex. Fed Ex made the the entire thing a headache with their signature required delivery. I'm never home as I'm always working so it took 2 days to get it delivered after the initial day it was suppose to. Also, I ordered the original GREEN Maxon 808 and the order I got delivered to me was the new version of the pedal which is the Maxon 808X which is a red pedal. If it wasn't for the excellent updates on this pedal vs the original green id of returned and asked for my money back.JOE
Why 4 starts and not 5? If you know what a tube screamer does, then this does the business – 5 stars. It really feels like it's built to last, but this ‘80s style design means the pedal feels very heavy and ‘oversized’ compared to modern designs. Underneath it has built in rubber seating which means it is a bit difficult to attach velcro to fix to a pedal board. All this means that if you use it on the floor (‘80s) style then 5 stars, on a pedal board though 4 stars. Sound wise you might be shocked if all you do is compare the sound from a solo guitar with the pedal on and off – it sculptures the sound so that you notice a roll off of bass and treble … but in a mix or on stage the pedal is superb at highlighting the guitar. Just step on it for a solo and you get this wonderful midrange boost and suddenly your guitar just pop’s out of the mix for all to hear. All in all if this is your only pedal and you don’t play with a cranked tube amp you might be a bit disappointed. If you are combining with other overdrives and/or overdriven amps it can really bring out a clarity in the sound and is a great tool.David B.

I should start by telling you all that i play modern metal, not classic rock or anything close. I bought this pedal a few years back hoping to squash out the hiss in my amp due to my use of an overdrive in front of the amp.I used it in front of my amp with a ts9 in its little effects loop. it was very difficult to get the start-stop quick djent style stuff i wanted without a feedback remnant always cutting in. also, there was a noticable amount of cut on any palm-muted notes and really any note played would not sustain naturally. any setting on the decay would not help. but, i had to have the threshold up pretty high to knock out the hiss. you must also know that i am using a horrific amount of gain with a 6505+. I have the post gain maxed out and most other things maxed out as well.After much research and saving, i invested in the isp decimater g-string. this product was on a whole other level. the things that the ns-2 lacked this thing just has. It senses when you are playing, instead of opening a gate when you play loud enough. Even with my extreme gain settings, overdrive in front, booster in the effects loop, and volume all the way up on my guitar, i can start-stop all day long just like periphery and animals as leaders. plus, my palm muted notes fade naturally as do normally fretted notes. Another thing i have recently learned is that the ns-2 manufacturing process uses lead free solder, whereas the ns-1 has lead based solder. This resulted in a big difference in signal integrity, and is very evident if you leave the pedal on bypass and play something, then removeit from the chain, and play something. it darkens the tone alot. In conclusion, if you want play the new styles of metal with all the gain and start-stop, buy the isp decimater g-string or pro rack g.MTloveit
This is a must have if you have a multitude of effects esp. overdrives, distortions at high gains and volume. It's a huge compliment to any pedal board. If your tired of excessive hum, buzzing or just white noise especially when using multiple pedals on a pedal board this is the solution. I mated mine with a BOSS LS-2 Line Selector pedal at the start of my pedal chain so every pedal is covered by it. It allows instant quiet after quick aggressive picking starts and stops while using heavy distortion. It's a "Fire and Forget" pedal for the most part if your running the same gear regularly. This is a very great sounding pedal. If you like the original od808, you'll definitely like this pedal. Having said that, there are some drawbacks to this pedal as well. I primarily use an overdrive to tighten up my already overdriven amp, and this pedal seems to take away some of the lower mids. I use an 8 string guitar and losing those lower mids just turns my sound to mush ( granted, not very hard to do on an 8 string guitar). You may have to fine tune your eq if you are using a 7 or 8 string guitar. Adding more mids on my amp fixes it right up for meMegaCon
I use duncan humbuckers with 500k smooth duncan pots (2 vol config) with a 3-way CRL switch in most of my guitars, primarily a '59 SH-1 or a Jazz SH-2 in the neck position, and a JB SH-4 or Custom 5 SH-14 in the bridge position. From there I run this into the od808x (which stays on) then into the front of my Fender Blues Deluxe (high input jack) using the amp's foot switch as a boost between clean and dirty channels. Sometimes I throw a reverb in the fx loop, but that's it. With just this, I can dial in any killer rock, blues, or jazz tone that I want. (with the exception of the heavy stuff, like Pantera/Dimebag material) This setup will take me from soft (George Benson/ Kenny G music, all the way up to NOFX/Scorpions/Motley Crue/AC/DC/GNR territory with no problem) It sounds super clean, no funky noises (using a battery as supply voltage).. I favor this over my $200 Friedman BE-OD. That should say a lot.Steely Dad
Let me start with I got this for a very specific purpose (boosting an already high gain amp), so my review is limited to a single-case use. While it sounds as great as the original with even more output, it's not the "upgrade" I was looking for. For the specific amp/guitar/pickup combination I got this for, I have others that sound a little more defined and tight. How odd. This review was flagged for writing Big Mu** using the two F's 🙂 For the money, this is a really hard pedal to beat. It goes from mild and laid-back to wild and intense. The controls feel great…like as in excellent quality. This is a reissue of the original Big Mu** PI. I tried a Big Mu** PI with Wicker and forget about it. It hissed so loud in Wicker mode that I couldn't even here myself think and it got even worse with the tone switch off. And even in the so-called Big Mu** PI mode, it didn't sound anywhere near as good as this Rams Head does. And, the Rams Head is quiet compared to the BM PI with Wicker. One more thing, The BM PI with Wicker does not say anywhere on it nor in the included paperwork where it's made, whereas the RH BM PI clearly says New York City on the face of it…Vincent
The tone sweep is nice and there are some interesting spots because it is linear while kind of non-linear at 10 to noon and about 1-2 on tone control. I can't say why but usually I had purchased like more expensive versions of ehx pedals. That being said, I think people need to realize that these are quite accurate reissues and circuits, and just because it is an affordable pedal doesn't mean it isn't great.
Overall: Floats like a stone and stings like a nest of angry hornets! This box has the buzzsaw sound down pat. The fuzz is a thick, smooth, and consistent. I like this kind of fuzz in particular because it’s less fuzzy and little more distortion-like. The Tone knob has a really wide sweep from boomy bass to mid-range Hades. It has plenty of gain on tap and even sounds pretty good with the guitar’s volume rolled back a skosh.I’ve never used the original Green Russian Muff and have only heard them compared through videos online, so I can’t speak as to how they’re different/alike. I got it because I didn’t want to haul my vintage Black Russian Muff around from gig to gig anymore because it’s getting valuable and since it was a pretty jenky design to begin with, it’s liable to break with heavy use. That being said, the reissue Green Russian Muff has a different sound than an original V8 Black Russian Muff. It doesn’t sound as good to me, but it’s not so different that I wouldn’t use the Green Russian live in lieu of the Black Russian for the aforementioned reasons. One huge plus for the Green Russian is its pedalboard friendly size. The Black Russian is the size of an 80s metal lunchbox and took up an awkward sized chunk of the pedalboard. Now there’s more room for other unnecessary boxes (gulp)! One noteworthy ding for this pedal is how difficult it is to see the script on the top of the pedal. The words are printed right underneath the knobs, so if it’s kinda dark (which it usually is) and the lights are all in front of you (which they usually are) the words are impossible to see. Overall it’s a nice fuzz especially for the price. It’s noisy, but once the music gets rolling you won’t even notice it.Brad

Do some research, watch some videos… This is the best of the best of SOFT CLIPPING overdrive pedals. Soft clipping means it adds mid tone grit that isn't there to cut through the mix beautifully. But, the direct location of the amp or pa speaker in relation to the guitar will create a musical feedback response without turning around and trying to shove your guitar face first into the speaker as some do. It does a good job with overdrive and also compresses as well. My foundation is a Schecter semi-hollow that I've gutted and replaced with 50s wiring, vintage taper volume pots and unpotted humbuckers – my amp is Swart with RCA tubes throughout. Plugged straight in to amp, I can roll the volume and tone control on the guitar to get a lot of tonal variations. The tubescreamer colors all the nice things that great tubes produce. I think a more transparent overdrive like a Klon clone would suit my setup better and they can be constantly on all the time – the tubescreamer is different and not in a bad way as it is really cool at what it does. I can see it being well suited to warm and fatten the bridge pickup in a strat when playing leads. It has a nice buffer – just wish the buffer was on all the time. Overall: After purchasing – and being mostly disappointed with – modelers from other brands I was hesitant to spend the considerable sum on the GT 1000 core. But after extensive review of specs and sounds on Youtube and a good deal from zZounds I went for it. I purchased it solely for the presets because my past ventures into programming haven't been good. I haven't gotten through all of them yet but unlike all the other units I've tried that have only a very few actually useful preset patches, the GT-1000 has a considerable number of them, going straight into my studio console, flat EQ, no additional processing or effects. The verdict so far: I don't think I'll ever again have to use a microphone to record most guitar parts. Additionally, Boss has kept the noise levels surprisingly down on the hard overdriven patches, also unlike the other units I've mentioned. The only drawback I've found – and it isn't major – is that there is a dearth of straightforward Fender clean sounds without effects. I'm sure there's a way in the internal programming to deal with that but I haven't found it necessary yet. The effects are pristine – very well done. All-in-all, worth the money.Jerry
I sold my Line6 HD500X multi fx board and bought this because there were some effects I wanted, like autoswell and some other aspects of this that I preferred, like the smaller size and the ability to add 2 extra expression pedals was great (the inexpensive Nektar pedals=great). I was able to get sounds I liked, but was frustrated by some limitations to how many duplicate effects I could stack, and there were times when I got frustrated with it. I had an instance when trying to record with a friend when it just wouldn't pair with my MacBook Pro for recording through Logic. And other times when working with effects there would be some non-intuitive things I'd have to relearn how to do. I've been working with similar units like this from back in the day with rack effects, and owned many models of DOD, Digitech, LIne6, Rockman, and Zoom but this was my first Boss multi-effect unit. I tried to love it, and the form factor and size is great, but ultimately moved to the Headrush Pedalboard full size unit. It was between that and the Helix, but the Headrush got me. It's got the best user interface of anything out there, with the touch screen and custom naming for each of the footswitches, and the hands-free editing mode (so easy!). If I could give the Boss GT-1000 3.5 stars, I'd do that, but ultimately, I can't recommend it because for the money, the Headrush blows it away for usability: speed of creating presets, adjusting on the fly when performing, and ability to name the footswitch so you know what each one on a given preset does. The Boss has the advantage only for size and weight and the double external expression pedal jacks. As far as effects, I guess that comes down to personal preference on the specifics, but I'd say they are more similar than they are different. No effects unit out there can compete with the software plugins I use for recording and mixing, so for me, it came down to the best for live, spontaneous control, and that's where the GT-1000 lacked.Matt F
I originally tried the Headrush portable effects unit, and although it was simple to use, the sounds were not as close to the original petals as I was hoping for. I then switched to the HX stop, and although it had great amp emulations, again, most of the pedals did not sound that close to the originals to my ears. Upon switching to the GT 1000 core, the user interface was not as simple, but the tones were by far the closest to the original pedals that I had found. I do not use it for the amp emulations much, although those sound good too. But where this pedal shines for me is saving space on my pedalboard, by being all of the modulation pedals that I could ever want in one box, and they sound very close to the original pedals to my ears. I use it for the Boss chorus CE-2, the tape delay, Space Echo, plate reverb, phaser, flanger, harmonizer, pedal bend, and pitch shift. For all of those it is fantastic and sounds much closer to the originals than the others I tried did. It does have a slightly bigger learning curve to get everything set as compared to some of the others out there, but once you have it dialed in it is super simple to switch back-and-forth. And tone wise it is by far the best for me.S

I normally play flamenco guitar and have a very good acoustic amp I use for flamenco. I acquired an electric guitar, and needed a vintage overdrive sound, but I didn't want to buy another guitar amplifier. This unit does exactly what I need, providing a good range of distortion from mild to heavy, transforming my acoustic amp into what sounds more like a vintage tube amp. My wife likes the sound of the acoustic amp and TO800 combo, which surprised me because she usually doesn't care much for the sound of electric guitars. I'm very happy with this unit. I would highly recommend purchasing a power supply with the TO800. I discovered it goes through batteries much faster than I had anticipated.Timothy
I got this pedal to use with a low gain amp at rehearsals. I didn't want to drag out my regular board or take it apart. I was looking for an inexpensive overdrive pedal. I saw this , read the reviews and said what the heck. I actually got the pedal for free as I had enough reward points. I regularly use a Boss Blues Driver which I have had for over ten years. I got the pedal and hooked it up and was pleasantly surprised. It is very comparable to my Blues Driver. It accepts both my Dunlop nine volt adapters and my One Spot power supplies. The case is metal. I may even incorporate it into my regular board for another degree of overdrive. If you are considering trying an OD pedal, you can't go wrong with this. I am a semi professional guitarist with over fifty years of playing experience. I use tube amps and mainly American Fender guitars. I know what I'm talking about. An OD pedal is not the same as a distortion pedal. The purpose of an OD is to push you're amp to a higher gain level than it may be capable of or to give you a little more guts when playing a lead without changing the settings on your amp. The Bad: You have to press in the hinges on the pedal itself as the battery is under the pedal. It was scratched up before I even got to play it because of this. There's no reason the manufacturer could not have just put a small door in the bottom of the unit like every other pedal I've ever used. Also, the first time I changed the battery, the negative wire pulled out of the connector. I've decided that since I already bought it and like the way it sounds, I'm going to jury-rig a battery connector outside the main body. It'll look like cr4p, but I'll be able to use it without damaging it further and won't have to spend extra for a 110v adapter. I had read about the difficulty changing the battery, but figured I'd give it a shot because it's got so low-priced. Had I gone to a brink and mortar store and seen it, I would not have purchased this unit. If someone already has an adapter they plan on using with it, by all means do so.Russ G

I normally play flamenco guitar and have a very good acoustic amp I use for flamenco. I acquired an electric guitar, and needed a vintage overdrive sound, but I didn't want to buy another guitar amplifier. This unit does exactly what I need, providing a good range of distortion from mild to heavy, transforming my acoustic amp into what sounds more like a vintage tube amp. My wife likes the sound of the acoustic amp and TO800 combo, which surprised me because she usually doesn't care much for the sound of electric guitars. I'm very happy with this unit. I would highly recommend purchasing a power supply with the TO800. I discovered it goes through batteries much faster than I had anticipated.Timothy

I have an amp that doesn't have a reverb channel and was using a multieffects pedal that had a reverb function, but I decided it was time to have a seperate reverb pedal so I could run it alongside the multieffects – kind of to simulate a reverb channel on an amp. I did my research and picked this little guy. I was suprised first off at the weight – for being a die-cast chassis, it wasn't heavy at all. I found my favorite setting in the Hall reverb, simply because I liked the decay it produced, but all of the effects seemed to work very well. the response was accurate from effect to effect when you turn the amount knob. I found at about 9 o'clock you would get a minimal effect that usually is more heard at the tail end; and at 11-12 o'clock it blends with your dry signal so it's very prominent. once I got past 12 o'clock though, the more dynamic picking I'd do the more the effect would push through, so sometimes it would throw my drummer off a little bit since it was almost a slap-back decay. with the amount knob all the way dialed-in, the effect obviously overtakes all of your dry signal; and in the flerb setting you get some awesome sounding ambient sounds. All in all, I wish I could get a little bit more of a dry/wet amount ratio, but this pedal definitely has some cool sounds and can be used in a variety of settings. I think it's the best pedal to replace a reverb channel for an amp and gives you more versatility than that one sound your amp channel would give you.Clifton
Nice nice pedal, feels fairly tough, the difference between the spring and hall I thought was quite noticeable. It take me a while to get a setting I liked however I imagine it will depend on your amp and guitar plus we all like different tones. Picked one a few weeks ago because I switched to a tube head without reverb. Orange TH30 which is also awesome but felt the need to add some verb at times. I choose this pedal for 3 reasons, compact, simple operation and $. Good decision I believe. Had no problem daisy chaining to other pedals using my Snark 9V set up and love the spring setting. As others have said, the "Flirb" is virtually impossible to use for any practice purpose and Frank Zappa may be the one person who could have utilized it. Still a good pedal.Latty

I use the volume pedal in my signal chain almost more than the volume knob on my guitar. You can move it around from the effects loop or in front of the amp if your not getting the desired response. Dunlop makes a robust, durable and very responsive volume pedal. The only thing is that it looks exactly like my Dunlop Cry Baby Wah pedal.Chris
When I was a kid, I did not understand subtlety and tonal quality…whatever solid state amp and distortion/chorus set-up I could find was great…this pedal would have bored me to death. What little did I understand…the tone is just full and lush, like increasing your font from 10 to 12. There is a large amount of headroom for a 9v, very usable. The overdrive is very tasty once rolled on. It responds in such a transparent way (I played a clean sample loop through it so I could focus on what the controls actually do). I have a strong preference for a high degree of sag, but it would be usable in other ways, too. Combined with a good compressor and an eq, I have a newfound love of playing…lifelong humbucker/P90 fan and now I am just in love with the clarity and dynamic expression possible with a rich single coil on my strats and teles. It is worth money to make it fun; this pedal definitely makes playing fun for me.coopermatman
Pedal works good. Like the color of the pedal, and the lights when switches are activated. Makes pedal board look good. Distortion sounds good but not as heavy as I like. Would like to have separate switches so you could use distortion without the wah activated. Might have features I haven't figured out yet. I bought used with no power supply or manuals. Overall: This is purely a review on the quality of the product itself not based on the sound. For the price I am beyond disappointed on the quality of this pedal. The knobs are gritty, and make a noise when you twist them. They are so tall that your toes will hit them every time you turn the pedal on and off. The on/off buttons feel fragile, they won’t last very long. One the most infuriating things about this pedals design is the expression switch. It’s a inch away from the on off switch and like with everything else on this pedal feels fragile and will most likely get stepped on and broken off. The box is grey and the labeling is light blue which makes reading the pedal harder than it should have to be. Over all I’m feeling stupid for spending $400 after tax on this pedal.Nick
