Reviews:
I bought this guitar online with high hopes, but got a seemingly used piece in which the knobs that tune the guitar were turning copperish, as if discoloured. Definitely got a used piece, despite paying full price for a BRAND NEW product. Very unacceptable practice by best buy. And on top of it, they expect me to go through the hassle of returning the product through shipping such a large item back to them and then get a new one. I bought this as a gift for someone, I don't have the time to keep returning and waiting for new pieces, which will probably also be used. Disappointed, never again. Even Amazon gives quality products.sonu
If you are older when you start playing the guitar, you might not make it to Eric Clapton levels of talent. That’s okay as he probably had one in utero. Sometimes I sit back in awe of him or Jimmy Page, and hear the notes and chords moving at a riveting speed. Both their hand eye coordination/hands, and mathematic abilities must be off the charts. They are the guitar heroes. Yet I’ve been quite happy with the Takamine Jasmine acoustic, which I bought for around $100. The sound quality for its price is impressive. A couple of friends of mine whom play in a band, believe it’s better than Yamahas that cost $50 to $100 more. I’ll trust their ears, as they have experience and talent. My neighbors are glad I got the acoustic, and with practice I’ve been learning some basic songs. It has been time consuming, frustrating, and yet so rewarding. Strings are easy to replace or tune on this, and it’s forgiving nature has helped with my self esteem. I won’t always hit the six strings as I’m supposed to, or mess up on the frets, but I’m pleased with the purchase of this.michael.r
For a lower end guitar, I’m overall impressed. You really aren’t going to get good quality without going a few hundred more, but for the beginner / someone who plays a little as a hobby, this is better than some of the cheaper priced ones. I have used for recording as background music, and taught students with this guitar. If you’re looking to spend under $150 on an acoustic this is your best bet.Loagz Beatz

Reviews:
Open Box / Blemish – still can't find any blemish, maybe two tiny smudges on the back of the body, but with the satin finish they're hard to spot. The NEX body is comfortable and it really projects the sound. The action was way too high, even for a factory setup. But it was easy to get it lower and lock in the harmonics.Mike
The Takamine GN20 is a great guitar. The natural wood matte finish is handsome. It's a baby jumbo that gives you full quality projection, with beautifully balanced tone. The cedar top and mahagony back and sides provide a depth of tone, that makes the instrument sound wonderful in performance. Your hand fits easily around the slim neck and makes playing a real pleasure. To me, it feels like a vintage Ovation guitar. I've had mine for two years, and perform with it on weekends on a regular basis. It still looks like new. The price was easy to handle. Wait for the sale price, then buy this guitar. You won't regret it.Ovationation

Reviews:
If you're looking for the best acoustics, best pre amp, best build quality and everything you look for in a guitar this is the one. The acoustics are the best i've heard in any 12 string and would purchase this guitar over and over again. This is a very good guitar for all your uses. Very comfortable and has great resonation. This is my favorite guitar in my collection.alex
I typically play steel string acoustics. I wanted a quality nylon string guitar without the wide flat neck of a standard classical guitar. This is it. Extremely well made with quality woods (no laminates) that has a great sound (both amplified and unplugged). It does not have a large body and projection is somewhat limited when playing unplugged but has incredible sound both amplified and not amplified. Can be played quietly when everyone else has gone to sleep, or can flood the house with music if they're awake. The action and intonation on this guitar was fabulous right out of the box and I didn't have to make any setup adjustments. This is an awesome guitar and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nylon string acoustic.John
In 1981 I had three guitars, two of them acoustics, and one of those was an Ovation Country Artist–a nylon-string guitar with a 14 fret, comparatively narrow neck. It was my first good guitar, but when I left for grad school, I kept only a Martin OO-18, and sold the Ovation. In the 30 years since, I have been trying to find a replacement, I tried various Ibanez and Yamaha guitars, but they didn't have what it took. Then, a couple of months ago, needing a brain break, I left work and took myself to the acoustic room at Sam Ash. There was another guy in there playing, so I looked for a quiet instrument, and took this one down off the wall. Immediately, I knew that it was special. The clarity of the tone, and the richness of the bass, it was all there. The other guy liked the sound too, and soon we were jamming and telling stories. Both of us tried other neoclassical guitars, and agreed that this one was best. I loved the guitar at first note, but when I looked at the price tag, I knew I could never own it. So I bought (online) a similar guitar, but it lacked the feel and sound of this one. My wife heard me playing, asked what I thought about the similar guitar I'd bought, and I explained that it wasn't the same. Then she told me to buy this one. So I did, And I have been playing it daily since then. The OO-18 is still with me and still gets some time, but right now my fingers itch to play and hear this one. Did it replace my long-gone Country Artist? Not exactly–this Takamine is significantly superiod to the Country Artist in all respects. Even if I don't play it plugged in 🙂Andy M_S

Great guitar for the price, lovely tone and sounds great plugged in.acton3523
I didn't think I would see a great difference in sound between guitars, until I bought this Takamine., I brought it to work where there are a lot of guitar players and they all praised that guitar…..What a great sound they said !!!………and when I told them how much I paid for it, they couldn't believe it.! Told them it was a B stock which means cosmetic defects……and they were searching for the cosmetic flaw until I pointed out what I thought was the actual defect……they couldn't believe I got a $600.00 guitar for half price because of that cosmetic flaw………..and now, they all envy me !!joeyndre

Reviews:
Overall, I'd say that I'm very happy with the guitar. It plays well, and it sounds great. I had to tweak it a bit, though. It had a respectable amount of bow in the neck when I received it. I've torqued most of it out, but I have the truss rod tightened as far as I dare to. The action is still a bit high at the 12th fret, but I'll take care of that when I change out the strings. It sounds very chimey and bright with no bottom end at all, hopefully a beefier set of strings will help with that. Skinny frets, I wish they were a bit more robust. String spacing (between pairs) isn't consistent between the nut and the bridge, I may notch the bridge a bit to eliminate that. Otherwise, it's a beautifully built guitar and a great value for the price. You won't be disappointed.
I had a cheap 12 string guitar for about almost two years. I had been playing corridos during this time. However, I had played guitar for several years. Mainly rock and other stuff. Well, after I got it, I could play all the solos I couldn't really play clean. I guess the other guitar really was bad, or this one is great. Funny thing, I had a really good player tell me to not buy this model but the more expensive one. Well, I'm glad I decided to go with this one. This guitar sounds great and it's extremely easy to play. The guitar stays in tune fairly well for a 12 string guitar. The action is low. I haven't tried it the electronics aside from the tuner which works fairly well compared to my snark. I do have a Taylor and Martin guitar, and the tone on this guitar is pretty clean.Juan
This Guitar plays like a dream, sounds great no matter if it is plugged in or not, stays in tune and looks great. This is a great price for a guitar of this quality, but thanks to another dealers daily deal and Guitar Center's price matching, it was even better. I was able to get this out of layaway for $240 less. I am very happy with this guitar. I have not played in a band for a while, but getting back into practice and plan to start back with some solo acoustic gigs. Having this awesome new guitar is surely an inspiration to help me want to practice more.Kip

Reviews:
This is my first 'Cedar Top' acoustic guitar. I've always had various kinds of spruce on some very high end units with the exception of one mahogany top. I'd heard cedar was softer and not as lively as spruce. I would have to agree with that, but in a good way. The tone is nicely balanced over the entire spectrum with a very beautiful sustain quality that lends itself to excellent backup for vocals. I guess you could term it 'mellow' overall as it won't be a bluegrass pickers choice to really project like a Martin for instance. But once you've played it awhile, you will really appreciate the unique quality of it's sound. For the money invested, you just can't go wrong here. They knocked this one out of the park in my opinion.MacMan
Got it today but instantly in love. I've owned many acoustics, jasmine, ibanez, savannah, yamaha, some off brand ones too. Visually beautiful but plain looking I got it in natural color, the neck is very flat good for resting your thumb, its also a bit thin, it works very well for fingerpicking. The cedar top projects really nicely, I have to say this sounds better than any of my other guitars. If I could sum it up in 1 word It plays and sounds like "Butter" its pretty bright, not too brassy/deep sounding like my okoume ibanez but it still resonates nicely. The pinless bridge is nice. I don't do bends or thing I use the guitar for celtic fingerpicking music. honestly glad I got this, i feel like it plays more like a guitar priced twice as highantman
Overall: IT's okay, it's a good looking well built guitar, it's just got a nasty sound to it. The fret board will stain your fingers with blue dye, WTF, that's a first. It does not sound like a Takamine guitar, I realize it's a 330.00 guitar mass produced but………..not impressed. I've written good to great reviews on guitars I have bought here with zZounds and is absulutley no reflection on them, I give them 5 stars all day long.

before I brag on the EF341D , I want to brag on the staff at the las Vegas Sam Ash store. I purchased a Martin DC-13E Road series and decided the sound and quality was not to my liking. It had a strange resonation during strumming chords and plugged in to amp seemed worse. Maybe the type of wood it is made of or just me, and personnel likes. Anyway called the Sam Ash store and told them my dilemma, and honestly thought I would get the same Runa round I've gotten from other retail stores. I was wrong, I was treated with the utmost respect and understanding and exchanged the Martin for the EF341D without any Hassel whatsoever. The Senior Manager, Tony Giuffre was GREAT, he let me play every guitar hanging on the wall until I found the one I liked. Which turned out to be the Takamine EF341D. It sounds great through my old Fender Acoustasonic amp. I don't consider myself a professional guitarist , more like a hacker at best, but I perform at small venues and occasional wedding or Church service and Takamine makes me sound better than I am, and is a great quality instrument for my budget. So highest praise for Sam Ash, Tony Giuffre and Takamine. And please don't think I'm knocking Martin Guitars, I played on them many times and loved them, just didn't bond with the DC-13E this time .Anyway I would be hard pressed to go to any other music store ever again. So peace out and God bless everyone, even a wretched one like me.JESSE

Reviews:
When I'm sitting at home, my go to guitar is my Martin 000-28. If that guitar is not in my hands then I have my gn75ce in my lap. This guitar was playable and set up well right out of the box. Good enough that it's not worth the money to take to luthier to have it dialed in. I don't use the electronics on this guitar so I can't comment on that. As far as everything else , this is a well-constructed durable mid-range priced guitar. I'm quite pleased that I purchased it. it makes a wonderful addition my collection. It's a beautiful looking axe. I would highly recommend this guitar to anybody just starting to learn how to play or somebody wanting to add to their collection without spending thousands of dollars.Matthew Topp

Reviews:
I love my Tak EF341SC! I bought it because I didn't have enough money for a $1600 Martin or a $2100 Taylor, but I like the feel and sound of this better than those other guitars I was debating between! The sound is a little brighter than the Martin, but a lot more mellow than the Taylor… It is perfect! Once again, you have to thank the Asians for making something better and more affordable than we Americans… I have been leading worship at a contemporary church on the southside of Chicago for 3 years and I love the sound both acoustically and plugged in.guitarworship83
Jordan at Sam Ash was great during my purchase. He was busy with multiple customers at the time, but kept checking in with me as I played several different guitars. The guitar is great, it sounds fantastic both amplified and not. It plays very well and I got a good deal. Thanks to everyone at Sam Ash!DAVID
Great guitar for performing. Excellent sound plugged in.danpol467
