I typically play steel string acoustics. I wanted a quality nylon string guitar without the wide flat neck of a standard classical guitar. This is it. Extremely well made with quality woods (no laminates) that has a great sound (both amplified and unplugged). It does not have a large body and projection is somewhat limited when playing unplugged but has incredible sound both amplified and not amplified. Can be played quietly when everyone else has gone to sleep, or can flood the house with music if they're awake. The action and intonation on this guitar was fabulous right out of the box and I didn't have to make any setup adjustments. This is an awesome guitar and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nylon string acoustic.John
In 1981 I had three guitars, two of them acoustics, and one of those was an Ovation Country Artist–a nylon-string guitar with a 14 fret, comparatively narrow neck. It was my first good guitar, but when I left for grad school, I kept only a Martin OO-18, and sold the Ovation. In the 30 years since, I have been trying to find a replacement, I tried various Ibanez and Yamaha guitars, but they didn't have what it took. Then, a couple of months ago, needing a brain break, I left work and took myself to the acoustic room at Sam Ash. There was another guy in there playing, so I looked for a quiet instrument, and took this one down off the wall. Immediately, I knew that it was special. The clarity of the tone, and the richness of the bass, it was all there. The other guy liked the sound too, and soon we were jamming and telling stories. Both of us tried other neoclassical guitars, and agreed that this one was best. I loved the guitar at first note, but when I looked at the price tag, I knew I could never own it. So I bought (online) a similar guitar, but it lacked the feel and sound of this one. My wife heard me playing, asked what I thought about the similar guitar I'd bought, and I explained that it wasn't the same. Then she told me to buy this one. So I did, And I have been playing it daily since then. The OO-18 is still with me and still gets some time, but right now my fingers itch to play and hear this one. This guitar has crispy sound right out of the box, I enjoy using it, it's a really fun guitar to use. before I brag on the EF341D , I want to brag on the staff at the las Vegas Sam Ash store. I purchased a Martin DC-13E Road series and decided the sound and quality was not to my liking. It had a strange resonation during strumming chords and plugged in to amp seemed worse. Maybe the type of wood it is made of or just me, and personnel likes. Anyway called the Sam Ash store and told them my dilemma, and honestly thought I would get the same Runa round I've gotten from other retail stores. I was wrong, I was treated with the utmost respect and understanding and exchanged the Martin for the EF341D without any Hassel whatsoever. The Senior Manager, Tony Giuffre was GREAT, he let me play every guitar hanging on the wall until I found the one I liked. Which turned out to be the Takamine EF341D. It sounds great through my old Fender Acoustasonic amp. I don't consider myself a professional guitarist , more like a hacker at best, but I perform at small venues and occasional wedding or Church service and Takamine makes me sound better than I am, and is a great quality instrument for my budget. So highest praise for Sam Ash, Tony Giuffre and Takamine. And please don't think I'm knocking Martin Guitars, I played on them many times and loved them, just didn't bond with the DC-13E this time .Anyway I would be hard pressed to go to any other music store ever again. When I'm sitting at home, my go to guitar is my Martin 000-28. If that guitar is not in my hands then I have my gn75ce in my lap. This guitar was playable and set up well right out of the box. Good enough that it's not worth the money to take to luthier to have it dialed in. I don't use the electronics on this guitar so I can't comment on that. As far as everything else , this is a well-constructed durable mid-range priced guitar. I'm quite pleased that I purchased it. it makes a wonderful addition my collection. It's a beautiful looking axe. I would highly recommend this guitar to anybody just starting to learn how to play or somebody wanting to add to their collection without spending thousands of dollars.Matthew Topp

Here is a like new customized takamine gd20ce-ns acoustic electric guitar. this guitar has sweet yet warm tone that will only get better with age. the satin finished solid cedar top is complimented nicely with mahogany(okoume) back and sides also finished in satin. this satin finish really gives this guitar a nice open voice that will surprise you. the electronics sounds terrific and the tuner is rock solid. the pinless bridge is also a nice modern touch that makes string changes a breeze and also adds better sustain to the sound. the tuners have been upgraded to gold with darker style amber buttons. this guitar has been setup, it feels and plays much better than your average out of box model. the leopard style pickguard is a beautiful touch and color contrast that really stands out on this model. included gig bag with interior neck support.

Overall, I'd say that I'm very happy with the guitar. It plays well, and it sounds great. I had to tweak it a bit, though. It had a respectable amount of bow in the neck when I received it. I've torqued most of it out, but I have the truss rod tightened as far as I dare to. The action is still a bit high at the 12th fret, but I'll take care of that when I change out the strings. It sounds very chimey and bright with no bottom end at all, hopefully a beefier set of strings will help with that. Skinny frets, I wish they were a bit more robust. String spacing (between pairs) isn't consistent between the nut and the bridge, I may notch the bridge a bit to eliminate that. Otherwise, it's a beautifully built guitar and a great value for the price. You won't be disappointed.
I had a cheap 12 string guitar for about almost two years. I had been playing corridos during this time. However, I had played guitar for several years. Mainly rock and other stuff. Well, after I got it, I could play all the solos I couldn't really play clean. I guess the other guitar really was bad, or this one is great. Funny thing, I had a really good player tell me to not buy this model but the more expensive one. Well, I'm glad I decided to go with this one. This guitar sounds great and it's extremely easy to play. The guitar stays in tune fairly well for a 12 string guitar. The action is low. I haven't tried it the electronics aside from the tuner which works fairly well compared to my snark. I do have a Taylor and Martin guitar, and the tone on this guitar is pretty clean.Juan
This Guitar plays like a dream, sounds great no matter if it is plugged in or not, stays in tune and looks great. This is a great price for a guitar of this quality, but thanks to another dealers daily deal and Guitar Center's price matching, it was even better. I was able to get this out of layaway for $240 less. I am very happy with this guitar. I have not played in a band for a while, but getting back into practice and plan to start back with some solo acoustic gigs. Takamine give us a quality dreadnought in their top of the line pro series with this p3d acoustic guitar. this electro acoustic is made with a solid cedar top and solid sapele back with laminate sides. the p3d gives a full and warm sound full of detail and nuance that lends itself to strumming but really excels at fingerpicked parts. there is a dimension and sparkle to this model that is very musical! of course, being made of all-solid timbers for the top and back, this will vibrate more and improve the more you play it: the depth will continue for years. this model has a venetian cutaway in the lower bout to facilitate upper fret playing.visually the p3d is an understated affair, though there are nice details like the wooden soundhole rosette, the dot-in-dot inlays and the gold & amber tuners. the guitar has a natural satin finish.taking the p3d on stage? a fantastic ct4b ii pickup and preamp system is installed to give you a great live sound, too. this system has a powerful preamp mounted on the shoulder of the guitar which includes a 3-band eq and an electronic tuner to keep you right at all times! this guitar is a very good all-rounder and acquits itself admirably well on stage and off.

Can be played quietly when everyone else has gone to sleep, or can flood the house with music if they're awake. The action and intonation on this guitar was fabulous right out of the box and I didn't have to make any setup adjustments. There was another guy in there playing, so I looked for a quiet instrument, and took this one down off the wall. Immediately, I knew that it was special. The clarity of the tone, and the richness of the bass, it was all there. The other guy liked the sound too, and soon we were jamming and telling stories. Both of us tried other neoclassical guitars, and agreed that this one was best. I loved the guitar at first note, but when I looked at the price tag, I knew I could never own it. So I bought (online) a similar guitar, but it lacked the feel and sound of this one. My wife heard me playing, asked what I thought about the similar guitar I'd bought, and I explained that it wasn't the same. Then she told me to buy this one. Playability is far superior that the price would suggest. All it needed was a little tuning, strings were slightly flat, but thats to be expected. I’m a huge fan of 12-string guitars. I have two others, as well as a 12-string banjo (banjitar). My other instruments are usually kept at the performance venue where I work, and I wanted a guitar to keep at home and write with. Ordering online without playing first is always risky, but the Takamine GJ72-CE was ready to go almost right out of the box,” not to mention visually appealing. After tuning up, it was wonderful. The action is very nice, very good for faster playing, and the overall sound is well balanced. It’s quite a bright sound, but there is plenty of bass tone and good mid-range to match. The intonation is also exceptional. Chords and notes voiced in the upper frets are in tune across all strings. The electronics are very good, especially for the price. There is a great deal of control over the sound, and it sounds very natural. And oddly enough (to my ears, anyway), it sounds the best and most natural with “EQ Bypass” turned on. The only complaint I have is the sticker on the back of the headstock is difficult to remove and left some adhesive residue, but I don’t think it’s worth knocking off a star for something trivial like that. Overall, for the price, this is a fantastic guitar. It sounds great and looks great. Five stars.

When I'm sitting at home, my go to guitar is my Martin 000-28. If that guitar is not in my hands then I have my gn75ce in my lap. This guitar was playable and set up well right out of the box. Good enough that it's not worth the money to take to luthier to have it dialed in. I don't use the electronics on this guitar so I can't comment on that. As far as everything else , this is a well-constructed durable mid-range priced guitar. I'm quite pleased that I purchased it. it makes a wonderful addition my collection. It's a beautiful looking axe. I would highly recommend this guitar to anybody just starting to learn how to play or somebody wanting to add to their collection without spending thousands of dollars.Matthew Topp

I've owned this Takamine TC135SC Classical 24-Fret Cutaway guitar for six months now and I decided to let patential buyers get an opinion on it. All I have to say about this guitar is GOOD things. I was surprized at the guitars weight at first for the Preamp is heavy duty carrying 4 AA batteries. Since that very first impression everytime I pick up this guitar the warth builds and I am amazed each time I hit an open position E maj chord how balanced and smooth yet bright and warm this guitar is. I can get lost playing for hours up and down the 24 frets and wouldnt think of trading in or ever upgrading this to something different. I play mostly Flamenco with a lot of attack. If you want to have a subtle Classical guitar I wouldnt suggest this for a lot of sound is sacrificed by the preamp and cutaway even though I feel that the over all tone and volume is fantastic. I have a Taylor 814CE V Class and am hard to please with the sound quality of acoustic guitars. The Taylor has been my standard. I wanted a nylon string acoustic with a nut width close to my Taylor steel string.The Takamine TC135SC seemed to fit the bill. I'm a 48 year-old rock guitarist and I've had a guitar in my hand since age 4. I've been fortunate enough to have played a variety of guitars over the years and I'm very fond of acoustic instruments. The Takamine GJ72CE jumbo acoustic/electric is without a shred of doubt, one of the best guitars I've played in my life. I ordered it a couple of months ago and I can't seem to be able to put it down. Although it has a slightly larger body due to the jumbo size, it is very comfortable. The mahogany neck fits in my hand just right and the sound, …oh lord, the sound is just crystal clear, warm and downright beautiful. As I sit here and think about my experience with it, I honestly cannot come up with any negative things about this guitar. I know it sounds like bull, but it really is that good and I'm very happy with it. The only thing that wasn't quite right, was that it came with a 9-volt battery that lasted about 10 minutes. If you're ordering one and plan to plug it into a PA, I recommend you get a name-brand battery as the one it came with is not going to last. If you're looking for an acoustic/electric guitar or even just a regular acoustic with a big sound that will not break the bank, by all means give this guitar a look. It is worth every dollar, it sounds great, it looks gorgeous and if you play your cards right, you'll definitely get noticed in a positive way.

I love my Tak EF341SC! I bought it because I didn't have enough money for a $1600 Martin or a $2100 Taylor, but I like the feel and sound of this better than those other guitars I was debating between! The sound is a little brighter than the Martin, but a lot more mellow than the Taylor… It is perfect! I have always thought that the best low end guitars on the market, the most guitar for the dollar, etc. are Takemine's. This GD30 is a prime example of that. The quality in finish, tone and the playability are typical of an instrument one would pay a lot more for in other brands. For someone who doesn't want to pay a whole lot of money for a guitar but still wants one that is playable, looks good, sounds decent and will last a while, you really can't beat the Takemine.beau900

On the guitar, it feels and plays very high end. Upgrading from a budget beginner the difference is night and day. Very low action makes this easy to play. Solid top, D'Addario strings, built in tuner. Wow, I am beyond impressed. Worth every penny. On Walmart online, again awesome. This guitar was flawless and they actually sent the guitar foam wrapped in the hard case within a thick cardboard box. This is a precision musical instrument and it was packaged and handled as such.coben
