I spent two days in the Jackson, MS GC center playing every acoustic-electric in my price-range (and quite a few that exceeded it) – while ALL of them sounded good, I was looking for a specific sounds and feel that would allow me to get back into playing after a wrist-injury that still brings fatigue and pain with some guitar necks. Guitar is mint – honestly, played maybe 10 times since purchased new. case is also new. sound is bright and loud throughout range, especially the bass (thanks to the rosewood) not muted or muddy and the intonation is good. believe this model was made in korea. electronics include tuner and equalizer. was a gift but neck is too narrow for me. 1-11/16 inches at nut, typical in the industry, not great for me. played it several times, never picked it up again.

I typically play steel string acoustics. I wanted a quality nylon string guitar without the wide flat neck of a standard classical guitar. This is it. Extremely well made with quality woods (no laminates) that has a great sound (both amplified and unplugged). It does not have a large body and projection is somewhat limited when playing unplugged but has incredible sound both amplified and not amplified. Can be played quietly when everyone else has gone to sleep, or can flood the house with music if they're awake. The action and intonation on this guitar was fabulous right out of the box and I didn't have to make any setup adjustments. This is an awesome guitar and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nylon string acoustic.John
In 1981 I had three guitars, two of them acoustics, and one of those was an Ovation Country Artist–a nylon-string guitar with a 14 fret, comparatively narrow neck. It was my first good guitar, but when I left for grad school, I kept only a Martin OO-18, and sold the Ovation. In the 30 years since, I have been trying to find a replacement, I tried various Ibanez and Yamaha guitars, but they didn't have what it took. Then, a couple of months ago, needing a brain break, I left work and took myself to the acoustic room at Sam Ash. There was another guy in there playing, so I looked for a quiet instrument, and took this one down off the wall. Immediately, I knew that it was special. The clarity of the tone, and the richness of the bass, it was all there. The other guy liked the sound too, and soon we were jamming and telling stories. Both of us tried other neoclassical guitars, and agreed that this one was best. I loved the guitar at first note, but when I looked at the price tag, I knew I could never own it. So I bought (online) a similar guitar, but it lacked the feel and sound of this one. My wife heard me playing, asked what I thought about the similar guitar I'd bought, and I explained that it wasn't the same. Then she told me to buy this one. So I did, And I have been playing it daily since then. The OO-18 is still with me and still gets some time, but right now my fingers itch to play and hear this one. Did it replace my long-gone Country Artist? Not exactly–this Takamine is significantly superiod to the Country Artist in all respects. Even if I don't play it plugged in 🙂Andy M_S

The Takamine GB30CE is a performance level instrument. Good sustain, solid electronics, vibrant amped lows, acoustic feel and sound. It has reasonable projection unplugged. First used on a very active stage (in front of uncaged drums, near sub-woofer, front pointing hung speakers running hot) without any feedback problem. I wanted it to fill a niche with my 6 string bass, electric upright, and Ubass, and it fits perfectly in the mix. Like any full-bodied acoustic electric I've ever played, it must be played with a little bit more finesse than a solid body (slap is too harsh for it, in my opinion). Built in tuner is just okay; I prefer a pedal tuner. EQ, mid-shift and bass boost are all very solid. The neck is good, with no fret buzz anywhere out of the box. No noticable bridge-lift. Holds it's tuning well. It will be one of my workhorse basses.steverc999

I have always thought that the best low end guitars on the market, the most guitar for the dollar, etc. are Takemine's. This GD30 is a prime example of that. I have had no trouble with my GC5CE Classical guitar. I am new to guitar playing. I have played this guitar everyday for over a month and it has worked great. I have read where the G5 series of Takamine is inferior to the higher priced Tak's. This guitar is as good as any guitar I have played. I also have a Big Baby Taylor guitar that I have trouble playing because of the 1 11/16 nut width. I am glad I went to a classical. The GC5CE has made the difference.Bristol
I have a La Patrie Etude model classical which now are made using the Godin name but still called the Etude model. It has a solid Cedar top and sells for about $600.00 new without a preamp or cutaway body. The Takamine sounds better unplugged than the Godin La Patrie which is made in Canada. The La Patrie is a nice sounding guitar in its own right but again the Takamine does sound better. I bought the Takamine new from Sweetwater a couple months ago and for what you get it seems like a fair value for the money.

I love my Tak EF341SC! I bought it because I didn't have enough money for a $1600 Martin or a $2100 Taylor, but I like the feel and sound of this better than those other guitars I was debating between! I bought this guitar online with high hopes, but got a seemingly used piece in which the knobs that tune the guitar were turning copperish, as if discoloured. Definitely got a used piece, despite paying full price for a BRAND NEW product. Very unacceptable practice by best buy. And on top of it, they expect me to go through the hassle of returning the product through shipping such a large item back to them and then get a new one. I bought this as a gift for someone, I don't have the time to keep returning and waiting for new pieces, which will probably also be used. Disappointed, never again. If you are older when you start playing the guitar, you might not make it to Eric Clapton levels of talent. That’s okay as he probably had one in utero. Sometimes I sit back in awe of him or Jimmy Page, and hear the notes and chords moving at a riveting speed. Both their hand eye coordination/hands, and mathematic abilities must be off the charts. They are the guitar heroes. Yet I’ve been quite happy with the Takamine Jasmine acoustic, which I bought for around $100. The sound quality for its price is impressive. A couple of friends of mine whom play in a band, believe it’s better than Yamahas that cost $50 to $100 more. I’ll trust their ears, as they have experience and talent. My neighbors are glad I got the acoustic, and with practice I’ve been learning some basic songs. It has been time consuming, frustrating, and yet so rewarding. Strings are easy to replace or tune on this, and it’s forgiving nature has helped with my self esteem. I won’t always hit the six strings as I’m supposed to, or mess up on the frets, but I’m pleased with the purchase of this.michael.r
For a lower end guitar, I’m overall impressed. You really aren’t going to get good quality without going a few hundred more, but for the beginner / someone who plays a little as a hobby, this is better than some of the cheaper priced ones. I have only been playing guitar for about a year and a half. I have had this guitar for 9 months. I think the sound is very full and rich. It does have a small amount of fret buzz. I am a small woman, so the size is a little large and cumbersome. I like it overall. I have a smaller guitar now but the sound is not as good as this one. Earlier today, UPS dropped off my Tak GD30NAT, deluxe dreadnought guitar case, and three sets of extra D'Addario strings. All are in perfect order and condition. And just like the other review, it was ready to play right out of the box. I need to do a wee bit of tuning, but I expected that. What sold me on this guitar was that it was a Tak, the price was an absolute steal for the superb quality and sound (someone at Guitar Center was asleep at the wheel on this one, but don't tell anyone), and a couple reviews on YouTube. Go get yours before that person wakes up. Come on, go. They won't last at this price.Don

I bought this guitar about 7 years ago and haven't played anything that I like better. It tunes easy, plays good with very low strings, and holds tune for weeks. I play the crap out of it and rarely have to tune it with Elixir strings. I play two or three gigs a month and have only had trouble with the DSP electronics. They are great when it comes to features, but they shot themselves in the foot when they converted the 9 volt system to two AAs. They last about 6 hours and crap out (Energizer, Duracell, rechargeable, doesn't matter). Also, when using a Boss pedal tuner in line, the pedal tuner has trouble picking up the output and refuses to ever pick up the drop D tuning on the low E string. May be the guitar, may be the tuner. I also have the matching JJ signature 12 string that is an exact copy of the 6 string. I love this guitar as well. If you order it, don't order the DSP. You'll love the guitar, but hate the electronics.4x4Dually

I've always been a fan of Takamine guitars. They play and sound amazing. I tried this one at my local Sam Ash and was blown away with how full and rich the tone was. It sounded better than everything else in its price range and definitely hits above its weight class! And it's simply beautiful to look at. At it's price point, it makes a great beginner guitar, but the quality will hold up as one's skills improve. I can't rave enough about this guitar!Shawn
I have been playing guitar for 15 years, and this guitar is very very nice. It has a great sound and it looks and feels fantastic. The look is more flat than other typical guitars that have a high gloss finish. The internal pickups sounds as good through an amp as it does acoustic. The only draw back is it feels a little heavy compared to some other acoustic electrics I have played. That being said it is not so drastic that it would bother most players. It's a fantastic deal for the price in my opinion, and I would buy it again.ANDREW

This guitar has crispy sound right out of the box, I enjoy using it, it's a really fun guitar to use. before I brag on the EF341D , I want to brag on the staff at the las Vegas Sam Ash store. I purchased a Martin DC-13E Road series and decided the sound and quality was not to my liking. It had a strange resonation during strumming chords and plugged in to amp seemed worse. Maybe the type of wood it is made of or just me, and personnel likes. Anyway called the Sam Ash store and told them my dilemma, and honestly thought I would get the same Runa round I've gotten from other retail stores. I was wrong, I was treated with the utmost respect and understanding and exchanged the Martin for the EF341D without any Hassel whatsoever. The Senior Manager, Tony Giuffre was GREAT, he let me play every guitar hanging on the wall until I found the one I liked. Which turned out to be the Takamine EF341D. It sounds great through my old Fender Acoustasonic amp. I don't consider myself a professional guitarist , more like a hacker at best, but I perform at small venues and occasional wedding or Church service and Takamine makes me sound better than I am, and is a great quality instrument for my budget. So highest praise for Sam Ash, Tony Giuffre and Takamine. And please don't think I'm knocking Martin Guitars, I played on them many times and loved them, just didn't bond with the DC-13E this time .Anyway I would be hard pressed to go to any other music store ever again.
