Such a smooth guitar with incredible tone. I bought this expecting and achieving a perfect acoustic electric, fit for me at a decent price. I love the NEX body shape and the cut at the end so you can get to the higher frets(for solos) only thing i dislike is mine has a slight buzz after strumming.. but it's hardly noticable at all. hope this helps (:iryan90

I typically play steel string acoustics. I wanted a quality nylon string guitar without the wide flat neck of a standard classical guitar. This is it. Extremely well made with quality woods (no laminates) that has a great sound (both amplified and unplugged). It does not have a large body and projection is somewhat limited when playing unplugged but has incredible sound both amplified and not amplified. Can be played quietly when everyone else has gone to sleep, or can flood the house with music if they're awake. The action and intonation on this guitar was fabulous right out of the box and I didn't have to make any setup adjustments. This is an awesome guitar and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nylon string acoustic.John

It was my first good guitar, but when I left for grad school, I kept only a Martin OO-18, and sold the Ovation. In the 30 years since, I have been trying to find a replacement, I tried various Ibanez and Yamaha guitars, but they didn't have what it took. Then, a couple of months ago, needing a brain break, I left work and took myself to the acoustic room at Sam Ash. There was another guy in there playing, so I looked for a quiet instrument, and took this one down off the wall. Immediately, I knew that it was special. The clarity of the tone, and the richness of the bass, it was all there. The other guy liked the sound too, and soon we were jamming and telling stories. Both of us tried other neoclassical guitars, and agreed that this one was best. I loved the guitar at first note, but when I looked at the price tag, I knew I could never own it. So I bought (online) a similar guitar, but it lacked the feel and sound of this one. My wife heard me playing, asked what I thought about the similar guitar I'd bought, and I explained that it wasn't the same. Then she told me to buy this one. So I did, And I have been playing it daily since then. The OO-18 is still with me and still gets some time, but right now my fingers itch to play and hear this one. Did it replace my long-gone Country Artist? Not exactly–this Takamine is significantly superiod to the Country Artist in all respects. Even if I don't play it plugged in 🙂Andy M_S

I had a cheap 12 string guitar for about almost two years. I had been playing corridos during this time. However, I had played guitar for several years. Mainly rock and other stuff. Well, after I got it, I could play all the solos I couldn't really play clean. I guess the other guitar really was bad, or this one is great. Funny thing, I had a really good player tell me to not buy this model but the more expensive one. Well, I'm glad I decided to go with this one. This guitar sounds great and it's extremely easy to play. The guitar stays in tune fairly well for a 12 string guitar. The action is low. I haven't tried it the electronics aside from the tuner which works fairly well compared to my snark. I do have a Taylor and Martin guitar, and the tone on this guitar is pretty clean.Juan

This Guitar plays like a dream, sounds great no matter if it is plugged in or not, stays in tune and looks great. This is a great price for a guitar of this quality, but thanks to another dealers daily deal and Guitar Center's price matching, it was even better. I was able to get this out of layaway for $240 less. I am very happy with this guitar. I have not played in a band for a while, but getting back into practice and plan to start back with some solo acoustic gigs. Was very pleased with the Guild D240e overall until having to return it because LAYERS of fused on clear plastic over the pick guard would not come off cleanly. Understand, this was no usual one layer pull off. After I sent pictures, my Gear Advisor, Paul Mathews was extremely helpful in arranging the return. With the great customer service, I decided to upgrade to the Guild D260e Deluxe (Waiting on delivery as I write!). GUILD is fast becoming a favorite. I also have a Guild 12 string and a Martin. For the money, Guild offers incredible sound, playability, appearance and overall value. Linked with MF/GC, I can highly recommend others take a good honest look at these beauties.Mike

After owning this guitar for ~3 weeks, here is my honest review: I have found a total of 4 flaws with this guitar; 2 minor QC issues, 1 engineering oversight and 1 nit. Note, no concerns with playability, sound or build quality. Seriously, I'll add pics so you can see how minor the QC issues are. I'm basically hunting for "flaws". QC Issues: There is a small spot of adhesive on the top edge of the neck near the nut. There is uneven stain in two small spots on the back lower bout of the guitar. My guess is there was oil or something that kept the stain from penetrating evenly here. Engineering Issue: The corners of the bridge should be beveled as they are fairly sharp. Nit: The mahogany sides and back have a very "open" porous finish. When wiping the guitar down with a microfiber cloth you can feel and hear it catching. I imagine over time the crevices on these surfaces will become filled with dust and debris. Honestly, at this price point, the QC issues don't bother me. I can probably knock the glue off without damaging the finish, but I haven't been too concerned with it. The uneven stain just adds a little character. I might be a little more upset with it if this was one of the higher end models, but it's barely noticeable anyway. Overall great build quality and quality control at this price point. I'll probably knock the sharp edges off the bridge with a file. Shouldn't take much, just enough to take the "stabbiness" out of 'em! The texture of the sides and back bothers me most, but not enough to take away from my satisfaction with this guitar. Now to the good stuff! The guitar arrived well packaged. The action of the guitar was great out of the box, as was the intonation. I honestly have not had to do a setup on this guitar. This guitar is super light, but it sounds amazing for having such a light body. I attribute both of these to the arched back design which eliminates the bracing found in most dreadnoughts. I would put the sound of this guitar as comparable to guitars at a much higher price point. I can't wait to hear it mellow with age! The tone is well balanced with the light gauge strings supplied with the guitar. Light gauge is my preference so that's great news for me! This guitar has great resonance as well. She really does sing. The action and playability are on point and I haven't had any issues with it going out of tune. What else can I say? I purchased this guitar as an open box condition 2 for about half price. It came a brand new guitar. This guitar is flawless. Zero blemishs and workmanship is unbelieveable.The only flaw was that the pickup was not picking up the 1st string. The under saddle pickup was not positioned correctly. Had it fixed in about 10 minutes. Incredibly balanced sound. Still had the plastic on the pickguard. Neck is thin and straight and easy to play. Playable right out of the box. When I re-string next time, I might lower the action about a 64th to suit my feel. Love, love, love it. Love the satin finish. I stole this one. Thanks Lane.Gerald

Initially I was put off by the work required to set up the action on this guitar out of the box. I should mention that the only real work required was sanding the bottom of the bridge saddle to lower it. The nut was slotted perfect for low action out of the box. Now that I have done that and played the guitar for a while I can comment on the tone. This is a good sounding guitar unplugged, where it really shines is plugged in! The combination of wood, pickup, and pre-amp make this guitar sound fantastic through an amp. I now totally understand where it gets its high ratings. I have a wall of electric guitars waiting, this acoustic is hard to unplug, it really sounds that good. I have not played an acoustic electric that sounds as good as this Takamine EF341 plugged in, I am upgrading the rating. It's a keeper for sure.rosco

This guitar has crispy sound right out of the box, I enjoy using it, it's a really fun guitar to use. At gigs this guitar will not fail you, it has great sound acoustically and connected I have no issue with this guitar at all no imperfections whatsoever. before I brag on the EF341D , I want to brag on the staff at the las Vegas Sam Ash store. I purchased a Martin DC-13E Road series and decided the sound and quality was not to my liking. It had a strange resonation during strumming chords and plugged in to amp seemed worse. Maybe the type of wood it is made of or just me, and personnel likes. Anyway called the Sam Ash store and told them my dilemma, and honestly thought I would get the same Runa round I've gotten from other retail stores. I was wrong, I was treated with the utmost respect and understanding and exchanged the Martin for the EF341D without any Hassel whatsoever. The Senior Manager, Tony Giuffre was GREAT, he let me play every guitar hanging on the wall until I found the one I liked. Which turned out to be the Takamine EF341D. It sounds great through my old Fender Acoustasonic amp. I don't consider myself a professional guitarist , more like a hacker at best, but I perform at small venues and occasional wedding or Church service and Takamine makes me sound better than I am, and is a great quality instrument for my budget. So highest praise for Sam Ash, Tony Giuffre and Takamine. And please don't think I'm knocking Martin Guitars, I played on them many times and loved them, just didn't bond with the DC-13E this time .Anyway I would be hard pressed to go to any other music store ever again. Expected to sacrifice the rich acoustic tones for the thin line body, I was surprised. This is a fantastic instrument with great sustain and lower end. It may not be a J-200 but just flipped me out. The electric side has a great sound somewhere between an acoustic and a 335 electric. I own lots-o-guitars but this guitar just reached right in and grabbed my soul. Not sure if I could explain what it is about it but haven't put it down for a week. My fingers are numb and I'm loving it. The finish on it is top end and the case is more than nice.DickE

I love my Tak EF341SC! I bought it because I didn't have enough money for a $1600 Martin or a $2100 Taylor, but I like the feel and sound of this better than those other guitars I was debating between! The sound is a little brighter than the Martin, but a lot more mellow than the Taylor… It is perfect! Once again, you have to thank the Asians for making something better and more affordable than we Americans… I have been leading worship at a contemporary church on the southside of Chicago for 3 years and I love the sound both acoustically and plugged in.guitarworship83

I could not afford a Takamine Santa Fe model but I have 2 anyway. I love them both and the electronics are great sounding (Acoustic DSP AD-1). I do builds and repairs and have added a little to one of them that being turquoise I tumbled and polished then embedded around the soundhole. These are guitars you keep for your lifetime. I always advise players to leave a guitar in their stand so you will pick it up and play it a lot. Taylor guitar guys are crazy and leave them in cases in closets, that is no way to get better at playing and Taylors have thin tops that crack. Takamine (talk-uh-mee-nay) are built solid and worth every penny. NEVER leave weak batteries in the pre-amp and never leave them plugged in when not in use. Battery leaks will destroy the pre-amp.cravinbob

This guitar was set-up perfectly right out of the box. That has never happened before. I was fully expecting to have to do a little saddle and nut work, but nope. The action is perfect! Low and fast. The electronics are awesome. I play mainly through a PA system. Currently using a JBL PRX712 system through an Allen & Heath mixer through a TC Helicon VoiceLive3. The electronics allow you to tweak endlessly to achieve the sound you are looking for. Much more versatile than the Taylor Expression System (I have a Taylor 414CE). Unplugged, I give the edge to the Taylor…….plugged in….no comparison, the TSF48C kills it, and the action is better on the Takamine than the Taylor. I also have a Breedlove American C25/CRe-H fitted with the LR Baggs Anthem system. The Takamine provides much more control, and a more natural sound. There is nothing I can fault about this guitar. Small details of craftsmanship are evident everywhere. If you take the leap, I'm certain you will be happy. Thank you to the folks at Musicians Friend for a great purchase experience, too!JC

O.K. I have had the TSF48C for over six years now and I have no plans to depart from it. I play this Santa Fe mostly at Church for single songs on my Fender Acoustasonic Jr amp which sounds much better than the Church PA. The set-up remains low and smooth. Between this and my daily beater GJ72CE Tak I am set. The difference is that the Santa Fe is a milder tone and projection. The G body GJ72ce jumps out more and almost overrides the voice when playing alone, but in a group it holds it's own with anything out there.Dirt Dog

Got this to replace a cheap $80 dollar nylon string I got to see if I wanted to learn classical. This takamine is 100 times better, at least. I have had no trouble with my GC5CE Classical guitar. I am new to guitar playing. I have played this guitar everyday for over a month and it has worked great. I have read where the G5 series of Takamine is inferior to the higher priced Tak's. This guitar is as good as any guitar I have played. I also have a Big Baby Taylor guitar that I have trouble playing because of the 1 11/16 nut width. I am glad I went to a classical. The GC5CE has made the difference.Bristol

The gc3 has a really warm resonant sound. It is beautiful to look at. I got mine at a steal with a very slight cosmetic flaw. It is earning playing time next to my Blueridge BR371. For a different sound than steel strings I definitely recommend this guitar.tinytin56

Big shout out to AMS. Bought this Saturday A.M. had in my hands Sunday Morning, next day. This is not my first order and definite won't be my last. Service is Fantastic. Arrived without blemish. Playability is far superior that the price would suggest. All it needed was a little tuning, strings were slightly flat, but thats to be expected. For this amount of money I had great expectations and would not settle for almost great. This guitar did met my great hopes and is sonic perfection to my ears. The guitar is extremely articulate so exact finger positions are imperative. The nuances of this articulation also seem to translate well when plugged in. The guitar itself is not loud when played acoustically. The line driver is really fascinating. I have tried over a dozen pick ups in many guitars. None sound better or even as good as this one. Takamine is really building great guitars. I suspect that the thermal process has something to do with the incredible articulation with this guitar. I realize that there is a much cheaper substitute for this guitar however I would be willing to bet it does not perform like this model. Unfortunately the cost is high which likely means that some great players will not be able to own one of these. Although I have had the fortune to own hundred of acoustic guitars, none have sounded better. I have had a few that cost more and most have cost considerably less. I have zero regrets paying this much money for this guitar. I am a light flat picker but I suspect that finger style players would also love this guitar. The action was set a bit low for my tastes but that seems to be the current trend. The low action would be my only criticism and is very nitpicky for this great package. Despite the neck being described as a slim c it is thicker than my Taylor, Yamaha and fender. It's a little difficult to wrap my hand around but I am a woman. A man probably won't have that problem. I bought it to be a beater, something lightweight I can take around with me that I don't care about getting damaged. I actually wish I got the Taylor GS now because the neck will probably be what I am used to but I already have two Taylor's and wanted a different guitar, I like having different brands. The pick guard looks surprisingly cheap in person. Idk maybe other people like that look. I like a tortoise shell pick guard but this guild one just looks kinda faded out or something and the tortoise colors aren't blended well. It doesn't come with a gig bag anymore I guess, some people got one, maybe that is in other countries outside the US idk. The sound is what you would expect from a small guitar. The action is ok, a tad bit high which I might get lowered in the future. Doesn't bother me actually. The guitar is VERY lightweight.Jayjay L

The extra time at home during the pandemic has found me exploring short scale guitars and working on my finger-picking. I've acquired a Martin 000 Jr, and an all-mahogany Martin Dreadnought Jr. When I came across Guild's Jumbo Jr., I said, well, of course. How could I not? I thought a maple guitar would be a good addition to the Junior arsenal, and I wasn't disappointed. These Jumbo Juniors are beautiful, well made little instruments, fit and finish are superb. Mine has a couple bear claw inclusions on a very nicely book-matched solid Sitka spruce top, figured maple sides, and a bookmatched arched back of gorgeous, flamey, figured maple. The back and sides are laminates, but are very well chosen for their figuring. I thought the factory 13s were a bit too stiff, and the action a smidge high, so I had some nut and saddle work done, put a set of Martin Flexible Core 12s on, and just love this thing now. I think the factory idea behind the heavier strings is two-fold; to tighten up string tension that's inherently light due to the scale length, and to give it more low end. I think they just made it difficult to play. I haven't noticed any difference in tone switching to 12s, and the flexible core Martin strings have lighter string tension, enhancing playability. Given it's size, and that maple as a tone wood is on the bright side, you're not going to get a booming low end from this guitar – you might be better served in that regard by one of the mahogany bodied versions, but that's not what I was looking for. This guitar does have a fairly full and well balanced sound, nicely articulate with sparkling upper end resonance and great sustain. It plays well with the Martin Juniors, and has plenty of projection to keep up with the full-size boys, too. Great guitar!Rex K.

Now that I have the neck set-up & and my Martin Marquis strings are on it, I love it. I have another '77 model Tac that I've been using at my church for 10 years, and just love the quality, looks and sound of their guitars. This one is beautiful, the only thing, I would have changed so far is when using tuner, which is very accurate, amplification would be muted, which it does not do.Jim

This Takamine G51C Acoustic Electric Cutaway guitar is simply great. It has only taken me a short time to fall in love with playing it. With this, I replaced an old Takamine with the "Martin" style headstock, a Model G330 from the late 70's, which I have pass on to my daughter. She says that it is a family heirloom now, since she remembers me playing it for her since she was a small child. Funny, but I don't feel that old. Anyway, this new Takamine is great. it plays like a dream, the action is near perfect on it and only took a very minor adjustment to have it just the way I like it. It did come with a set of heavy guage strings on it and to be honest, I first thought I would not be able to play it for long at a time, but I changed these stock strings for a set of D'Addario light guage strings, and it now feels and plays fine. I love the electronics in this guitar, they are handy to reach and very responsive, making it easy to make any adjustments to the volume and tone while playing, right on the guitar without having to fool with the amp. This new Takamine has breathed some new life into my desire to play, and I look forward to sitting down with it everyday.Smoothie
