This unit is just incredible. I've been playing since the early 70's and with all the equipment that I've owned I really think the GT100 has possibly impressed me more than anything I've bought! There's some wonderful preset sounds in this tone monster and it's easy to edit the one's that you like. If you're already proficient at programming pedals then this one will be a dream for you to manipulate. This isn't my first multi effects pedal but I don't enjoy programming and this is by far the easiest to program of the one's I've owned. I can't say enough about the sound of this thing. It has every tone that you could ever need. It's extremely quiet too. I'm definitely glad that I made this purchase. I can see a lasting relationship building!Alan
Overall: I picked this up knowing it was at the end of it's market life, but I wanted to finally own one. COSM is starting to feel a little old, but it's still an amazing pedalboard. The amp modeling is good, especially the clean tones. The distortion can get a little "digital" sounding, but it's still very usable. The effects are top notch, especially the delay and reverb. What attracted me to this product was the routing options, specifically USB. I do a lot of home recording on my DAW and an underappreciated feature of this board is the ability to record both a dry and wet signal to your DAW at the same time. Reamping (routing the signal out of your DAW back into the device for processing after recording) is a great tool and something that is not found in a lot of boards. It really gives this kit an extended life off the stage and in the studio. 6 years after launch this is still a great product!Allan
I have to say I love his board, I've been through several multi effects and was recently building up an all analogue pedal board myself with some nice TRex and Keeley pedals in there. I was inspired after watching Johnny Marr and listening to some of the tones he got from the GT100 so I jumped when it was on offer. I run it through a small Behringer mixing desk into two Yamaha DBR12's and all I can say is that it sounds awesome. As a change to my usual random approach I went through each preset and made a note what it reminded me of or what it might be useful for,if I liked the patch. Its a testament to the board that out of the 200 presets I marked nearly 50 out for being useful out of the box. Now i just refer to that sheet and if I have a cover song I want to try or a feel for an original piece I just the closest preset as a starting point. There are so many features on this board its pointless trying to list them but suffice to say its got everything you are going to need, and there is always the effects loop if you are missing some random effect. What else can I say, oh yes its improving my playing as I use the metronome on it loads, really helping me improve my speed. The screens are clear and easy to view, and the whole menu is very intuitive to work with. Gets a definite thumbs up from me absolute winner of a product 🙂

Sound: The sound on this board is amazing, I fee it’s also very responsive to your playing and you get that responsive feedback. Makes me feel like it’s easier and more joyful to play my guitar. I will say this you have to tweak settings to get your sound typically the pre made ones aren’t the best. Overall: Ok so first off I’m new to this thing, I never thought I get away from tube amps, but….this headrush caught my attention and I love it! I like the simplicity of it and it produces great models plus sounds really authentic for what it does. I will recommend pairing with headrush frfr108 or frfr 12 or a frfr (Full range flat response) speaker instead of an amp. That way you get the absolute most out of this. I got the headrush frfr108 and it’s sounds amazing! too. As far as the headrush’s competition I haven’t used them yet. But end of the day it’s all personal preference. First off, DO NOT judge the tones of this pedalboard by the preset rigs, they're pretty bad. Build new rigs from scratch and you will discover what this unit is capable of producing. It's not overloaded with every effect pedal out there, but there is more than enough to get any tone you want from Jazz, Country, Rock, Metal, and Blues. For overdriven and distorted tones, it may seem like you only have a few pedals to choose from, but once you combine them with all the various amps, cabs, mics, and impulse responses, you have hundreds of tones in your sound pallet. As for modulation and delay effects, it has all you need to produce any tone. Real Amps and FX Loop – In addition, you can use any of your favorite effects in the FX loop of the pedalboard. It also works great with tube amps and can work in a "four wire" setup with your modulation and delay effects going through the amplifiers FX loop. You can also run into the PA and to a stage tube amp simultaneously. Virtual Amps and IR's – The amps and impulse responses sound fantastic. I have several vintage tube amps and I am able to reproduce the same tones of mic'ing up those amps from this pedalboard directly to the PA or a recording desk. It has the easiest user interface of any of the pedalboards out there. If you can use a smartphone or tablet, this will be very easy to learn. One of the best features is the ability to assign the footswitches to any pedal or multiple pedals (scene function), or do either toggle or momentary mode. In addition, the mini screens for each footswitch change when you assign it to different pedals so it's easy to see what effects you are turning on and off in live performance. In addition, you can name a scene footswitch anything you want (e.g. Clean, Crunch, Solo, etc.). Makes live performance very easy, no more stomp pedal dancing. Overall: First of all, I am pretty sold school when it comes to amps and effects. A simple tube amp pushed with a couple of tube screamers, the on board reverb from the amp itself, and some modulation like delay and chorus. I joined a band a few years back that was about to go into the studio to record an album the year before covid struck. As a result, I ended up buying a Pod HD500X as a way to try to consolidate the effects that I might need all in one unit. I used it mainly as a "pedal board" in front of the [tube] amp as if it were my old analog board full of individual pedals. Needless to say, the recording project got pushed back because of the pandemic, and I was stuck at home, with a lot of time to play around with the processor. It was "good" but it left me wanting an easier to use option. As you could imagine, what that kind of time on my hands, I did a lot of floating around the internet just looking at possible modelers. All of the names. Kemper, Helix, Axe FX, Fractal, and this HeadRush board. Out of everything that was out there, the HeadRush board seemed to be VASTLY easier to try to figure out. Pushing my late 40s now, I don't really 'enjoy' learning new technology the way I did in my teens and twenties, so I didn't want a steep learning curve just to be able to use this thing. I spent a day while it was being shipped looking over youtube tutorials as to how to use it. Only took me a few hours of messing around with it once it got here to dial in the tone that I had on the HD500X. If you can use your cell phone, you can figure this board out. The effects sound convincing and the amp models really seem as good as the competition's offerings (even if this board doesn't have quite as many jammed into it). We are about three weeks out from going in to start laying down the guide tracks for this LP [finally], and this will make things much easier to navigate when each little tone will be more heavily scrutinized. The ability to tweak it on the fly will save time (and thus MONEY) in that studio environment. No deep dives into large menus to try to make a minor adjustment. Gives me a lot more freedom to just try to play my parts instead of worrying about the setup itself. I think this board is a bit underrated as far as the amps and cabs as well. I still will be running it to my amplifier and mic-ing it up as I do still like the "feel" that tubes give when playing. But who knows, I may use some of the sims as well. Built like a tank. A bit heavier than I had expected. Should hold up well under live applications (though that was actually not a problem with the 500X either). I highly recommend this unit if you want to get something that doesn't take a degree from Berklee in sound engineering to get started making music.Kenneth

I could spend all day yapping about this pedal…In my travels i've tried countless pedals, but got tired of having 'too many' pedals. The weight, the time it took to hook it all up. I also busk, or play where electricity isn't available, and wanted a setup where i could make one trip with everything, and keep the weight down. I've always been a fan of ZOOM products, so trying out the Multistomp series was a no-brainer for me. The 50G met all my requirements, and exceed them all after i got one and started using it. Tones that are as good as any higher priced pedal, the versatility is second to none, and the price is killer for what this pedal can do. I would say the the Bluetooth version was my favorite, then the 70CDR, then the 50G, with the 50G's new 3.0 update, the 50 G is now my favorite pedal…period. The 50G started with maybe 50 patches, now it has 172, and best of all it has the Exciter patch, which to me is required on any pedal board. All i can suggest is watch the countless demo videos of this pedal. I would recommend this pedal for any level of guitarist, i would also recommend the MS-70CDR, watch the demo videos of the 70-CDR vs Strymons…amazing I cant say enough good things about the 50G, i believe it's near the perfect all around pedal. The MS-50G pedal is first class. It is every bit as clean, quiet, and well built as the Boss pedals. It is not a replacement for the Boss line. Zoom pedals have a character of their own. Personally, I like the Zoom tone. But I'm not a guitar player. There is a great ~15 minute YouTube instructional video for the MS-50G. I got over the learning curve for writing and storing effects by watching this video, then I bought pedal. It replaces several pieces of my high quality studio gear when I need fast results that are of high level audio quality. Zoom delivers with this product. After I watched this video I purchased the pedal. I also like my G1X as a companion to this pedal. The G1X has a nice volume/expression pedal.Sean
I needed something for my living room and practicing while watching TV late at night without a full pedal board or multi-effects box. This along with a Boss RC-3 and a mini mixer for my wireless headphones provides everything I have in my studio at a mini level. The sounds are good enough. There are enough options in sound to play most anything. Eventually I'll try this little beast as a sub for my full pedal board and see how it works in a live jam. One pedal to do everything. It's not perfect but it is great. I wish Zoom would provide updates to it and a better manager. It's pretty old by today's standards and if Zoom provided updated files they would sell even more if these great little boxes. Sturdy unit full of good quality effects. This is the first "cheap" unit that has impressed me with its pre amps. It even manages a passable vox sound that others at this price point fail to achieve. My favourite things about this unit are as follows : 1. The amount of usable presets out the box. Even the more whacky ones can generally be quickly tweaked into something usable. Other brands tend to fill their presets with ridiculous over the top high gain, and what I would call low budget sci-fi sound effects. Boss have done a good job with the GT1. 2. Ease of editing. While you can access the effects chain easily through the menu system, the buttons along the top physically represent a typical effects chain. Press and hold for a second on any one and you are straight into the effect behind it for easy editing or changing to a different effect. Negatives: lack of an on/off switch. It switches on by plugging in an instrument cable – minor annoyance but that's just me. Only other thing is no battery indicator, and I seriously doubt the 7hr battery life claim. The supplied ones died after about 2-3 hrs and the duracells I replaced them with haven't fared much better. I do have a power supply but wanted to see how the battery's would hold up if I had to do a gig on them. Probably wouldn't trust them and would carry two sets as backup rather than one.David B.
This is overall a great pedal. This will give you a wide variety of tones and effects that you can personalize for whatever music you play. Other pedals will offer maybe one tone and you may have to try different ones and might not be happy with them or have to buy multiple ones and spend lots of money to have a well set up pedal board. You can literally spend all day picking out distortion pedals and feel lost on where to go. With this you can go through a wide variety and set it up however you want and save the settings. Sturdy unit full of good quality effects. This is the first "cheap" unit that has impressed me with its pre amps. It even manages a passable vox sound that others at this price point fail to achieve. My favourite things about this unit are as follows : 1. The amount of usable presets out the box. Even the more whacky ones can generally be quickly tweaked into something usable. Other brands tend to fill their presets with ridiculous over the top high gain, and what I would call low budget sci-fi sound effects. Boss have done a good job with the GT1. 2. Ease of editing. While you can access the effects chain easily through the menu system, the buttons along the top physically represent a typical effects chain. Press and hold for a second on any one and you are straight into the effect behind it for easy editing or changing to a different effect. Negatives: lack of an on/off switch. It switches on by plugging in an instrument cable – minor annoyance but that's just me. Only other thing is no battery indicator, and I seriously doubt the 7hr battery life claim. The supplied ones died after about 2-3 hrs and the duracells I replaced them with haven't fared much better. I do have a power supply but wanted to see how the battery's would hold up if I had to do a gig on them. Probably wouldn't trust them and would carry two sets as backup rather than one.David B.
This is overall a great pedal. This will give you a wide variety of tones and effects that you can personalize for whatever music you play. Other pedals will offer maybe one tone and you may have to try different ones and might not be happy with them or have to buy multiple ones and spend lots of money to have a well set up pedal board. You can literally spend all day picking out distortion pedals and feel lost on where to go. With this you can go through a wide variety and set it up however you want and save the settings. Have still to explore all the tonal possibilities of this aptly-named dual distortion pedal but first impressions have been very positive. The unit is smaller and lighter than I expected but the two foot switches are well separated. With six controls for each channel plus shared 'hi' and 'lo' EQ there are plenty of tone-shaping options. The user manual helpfully suggests some settings to get you started. The internal noise gate has so far proved very effective left on the 'natural' setting. You can adjust the threshold to suit your guitar's output, but having used the pedal with guitars loaded with vintage, medium output and hot humbuckers, I've found no need to alter the default factory setting. If you're in the market for a versatile high-gain distortion pedal I would strongly recommend taking a look at this one.Christopher D.

I was looking for a new pedal to push my Origin Effects Revival Drive when I came upon the Golden Pearl. After watching all of the demo videos I could find I decided to pull the trigger. That was a great move. Even though there are dozens of "transparent" overdrives on the market, this one really nails it. The two switches really help fine tune the response and the amount of detail that is revealed is amazing. It truly "enhances" the sound of the RD which is already excellent and takes it's tone to another level. It's really inspirational to play through. The only problem I could see with the GP is the fact that a less than stellar tone might be magnified in an honest but unflattering way much like a fine microphone can reveal problems with the source. This pedal works as advertised. It does not alter the tone of your guitar and amp, and is designed to push an already cranky amp. I use it at 18 volts with my Orange OR15 and Gibson Les Paul. The Orange can be kind of picky about what kind of overdrive you put in front of it. I have been setting the Golden Pearl up as a saturated rhythm sound and then boosting my (silver) Archer into it for a more mid-focused lead tone. I really like the high-cut switch. It is subtle, but effective, especially for recording. I also tried the Golden Pearl with my Marshall DSL40C, and it sounds great on both channels with that amp too. I've gone through a few overdrive pedals over the last couple years (OCD, Maxon OD808, TS9, and Modded Boss SD-1), and I am really happy I picked this one up.Man on the Moon

Having already owned a couple of (Silicon) fuzzes, I didn't know what to expect from a Germanium fuzz. Ge fuzz is a totally different experience which is not translated in YouTube reviews and sound clips. It is more a feeling/experience than a sound. Fortunately, the Boss TB-2W fuzz surpasses my expectations by being gig/recording usable in all settings and being very versatile with my guitar's volume control. This pedal is for users who are very capable at dialling in. Equally this pedal makes for a good starter pedal if you just want to experience overdrive and what that does to your sound. But for everyone else, I think the natural mid boost gives a little too much mud to be a popular pedal board decision over more modern pedals. The main difference in a Tube Screamer and the Boss SD-1 is the type of clipping. SD-1 utilizes asymmetrical clipping, and a Tube Screamer uses symmetrical clipping. They both have a mid-hump as for as the EQ curve. You can use them both as boosts into other pedals or amps. As straight up overdrives, the Tube Screamer often sounds like a layer of dirty and a layer of clean, where as with the SD-1, you get the single layer of dirty because of the circuit's clipping type. Either are great. Some prefer one over the other. I have both the TS and the Boss. Either work great with many configurations, and in some cases you might prefer one to the other with a particular setup. I have more than one tube amp, and I have a variety of pedals that I use on this one or that one.agentsalarm
After watching a few John5 interviews it dawned on me he doesn't use many pedals. But this is one he does use, so got me interested. While some claim this compressor is an optical compressor, that couldn't be further from the truth. This compressor is an OTA (operational transconductance amplifuer) design, much like a Ross or Dynacomp. That being said it is an improvement in that design. A big one. If you're into great tone does it really matter whether it is OTA, optical, flux capacitor, or glow plug? No. The bottom line is that this compressor is awesome! It can do the Ross/Dynacomp thing where it DOES squash and color your tone, or it can be as transparent as you want it to be. Upgraded to this unit from a Pod XT Pro rack. This unit not only has amazing and better sounds but more flexible options and a wider array of effects and amps. Pros: -Sound is stunning. I've not done a side-by-side with a real amp mic'ed with a specific mic in a certain position, but it's utterly convincing to my ears. -Blocks can be re-ordered without restriction. For example, want to daisy chain two amps to get that "you really got me" sound? You can do it and it actually works. -Multiple outs and routing -Flexible pedal assignments. You can connect up another two external footswitches (or exp pedals) and assign to any block. OR, you can assign more than one block to a single pedal (so you could activate a tube screamer, digital delay, and anything else with a single press ready for your solo). OR, you can just use a snapshot and change dozens of parameters with a single press. No more "dancing" around the pedal board, hitting the wrong pedals in the process, looking like an utter berk etc. -Preset sounds with flexible ways to work through them. At a gig I don't have time to change an abundance of settings so have a preset for each song. Sound completely changed in half a second. Next song started without hesitation. -All functions of the unit look like they can be configured through the front panel without having to use the Windows or MAC editor. Cons -Terrible, terrible power supply brick. I can't believe Line 6 sell it like this. They even know it's rubbish – the manual says something to the effect of: "we know the power supply is big but it needs to be special to give you enough juice". Big is not the problem – being stuck upwards in the air from your mains socket standing proud like, er, ahem, well something unmentionable is the problem. Plus when you try to unplug it, the power supply comes in half leaving a little bit left in the mains socket. Which will inevitably get left at a gig. Can't wait for that to happen. -limited number of presets. I need a preset for each of 60 songs. I keep a copy of each preset as a master then duplicate them in the order of the night's set list into other presets – so with that I need at least 120 presets, allowing myself one or two to fiddle with. If I recall correctly this has around 126. Best not learn three more songs that need a different sound each. -It's a little difficult to program the thing – the button layout is confusing and unintuitive compared to the Pod XT pro I have just replaced. I can make the trade-off for the sound but this would not work for many I suspect. -Windows or MAC editor – really? Where do I set that up then? Ah yes I just need a $1000 laptop or a chuffing great desktop unit and monitor to hand. I want to spend my money on guitar gear, thanks! Some other vendors have bluetooth and android apps, line 6 for a change is behind the curve. Two final points. 1) If you need something easier to use buy something with more buttons, knobs and pedal switches. 2) If you really like a particular sound, go out and buy the real amp / effect. You just can't beat the real thing. But this gets very, very close, and of course you have several hundred "things" to choose from with no crackles, no mic stand to get kicked, etc etc.
Purchased as a desktop amp to replace a Kemper head and footswitch, primarily for desktop and recording purposes. The unit is very solidly made and takes up next to no space. Although there are limited knobs on the unit itself, the Windows HX Edit software is excellent and makes it super easy to configure presets. Whilst the HX Stomp's effects blocks are very limited compared with the full size Helix, if you typically use a straightforward setup with, say 3-4 pedals, an amp, a cab/IR I don't see why this tiny device couldn't replace an entire rig. One minus point is that the external PSU has poorly designed plastic adapters for different plug types (UK/Euro etc) which disconnect from the PSU far too easily. First time I took mine out the house I unplugged it and didn't realise the adapter had remained in the socket. I had to buy a US to UK adapter. Something to be aware of if you plan on taking this on the road. Also bear in mind that at the time of writing it's not possible to share presets between Stomp and the larger Helix units.
Where do I begin? What a fantastic unit. I've played it both through a tube, stereo 4×12 rig and an FRFR and it sounds incredible through both. The delays, the mods, the tube amps, the pedals the IR options. The most exciting thing about this is the sound! The Helix class software lets me play like me and sound like me. However, another fantastic feature is the edit-ability, and that you get Helix Native for 99 bucks that loads in full Helix profiles with tons of presets. I love loading the profiles into Native and scaling them down for Stomp XL. Another is the portability. I can tote this thing around everywhere and not even feel the pain of dragging around heavy processing gear. I haven't had it long and am just digging in, but i can tell you, it gets more and more exciting what the Helix class software/ HX Stomp can do the further I go. I use it to compress cleans with a Les Paul Standard with PAF's. Brilliant for this application. It can play nicely with some drives too. Hiss will be evident in all compression but this pedal was not to bad. Its up there with the best.if you know how to use the features. There are a lot of full-featured reverb pedals on the market today, most of them with some sort of shimmer/octave/pitch-shifting mode. A few things set this pedal apart from its counterparts. First off is just the amount of control you get over the processed signal. Being able to mix the signal heading into the reverb circuit, the reverb unit itself, and then the final blend, lets you get sounds that are just not possible on 4-knob units. Everything from subtle to watery to full-on church-organ psychedelia. Next, you get three memory banks to save your creations. You could use Red for no-frills reverb, blue for slight modulation, and red for the crazy stuff. Or just save different flavors of crazy stuff in all three, it's up to you. Lastly, you've also got the option of running it in stereo if you'd like (which really amplifies the effect), plugging in an expression pedal for realtime control of the reverb, and also plugging in a two-button controller to make the buttons more accessible if the Descent finds a home at the back of your pedalboard. I'm genuinely blown away by this unit… from ease of use to the sounds it produces. My band has recently gone to running a silent stage, and I wanted to try something other than running a line out from my Katana. I figured why lug and amp when I don't need to. I've used units like this before, (PD HD500X and an old Vox Tone Lab) but felt they still sounded artificial. The BOSS GX100 is amazing! The learning curve is hilariously easy, and the touch screen makes editing on the fly a breeze. The other guitar player in the band couldn't believe the sound coming through FOH… and the recording needed no tweaking in the studio. Incredibly happy with this purchase, as with everything I've purchased from Sweetwater. BOSS has outdone themselves again.
Overall: This is a heavy duty pedal with so many different great sounding amps and effects that I don't even know where to start. Well built is an understatement. The build of it screams professional. from the chassis to the knobs and expression pedal this thing feels Pro in every way.The amps are fewer than most companies offer but BOSS went the quality over quantity route here. From crystalline cleans to all out brutal and everything in between. The drives are excellent and so are the modulations, delays, and reverbs. I find them superior to my Helix actually. There's not enough room in this review box for me to go over everything I love. A couple things I do not love..There's no poly pitch in this unit. The assigns can be confusing at times especially when it comes to assigning the expression pedal. It was ok once I wrapped my head around it but it was definitely and obstacle I had to overcome. Overall this unit is well worth the 599 price tag. I have owned many modeling units for many years and this is one of the best I have had.Robert

I have owned and played a ton of guitar processors, use a Boss GT-Pro and live miking in thestudio, had every stupid tone robbing effect and gadget and finally see the light. This is simple, sounds amazing and as I said before… if you need more than these effects to play then you are just hiding behind a bunch of junk noise. What I liked about it was the lack of features. Been playing a long time and the more years pass the less I want to F-around with layer upon layer of menus that will work in the studio and then blow when you play live. The transition from headphones to monitors to a club's monitors and your amp, never works. So, this thing you plop in front of you and… boom, your ready to go. Two overdrive settings, real-world chorus, great analog delay, and a compressor that is plainly the best I have used in 42 years of playing. If you think you need anything else, you will be playing in your bedroom on YouTube for the rest of your life. Unless of course you play in a Flock Of Seagulls tribute band. Built like a tank, I am sure it will take a beating. I read another review that the said the knobs turn too easy…. they don't, mine was dampened fine. The only thing I am curious about is the AC cable… hardwired and no ground. I am sure they have a reason for this and the unit runs silent so that wasn't an issue. Also, I would recommend contacting the support dept of any company before you buy their products. I emailed Carl Martin a question before I received the item and they responded the same day… AND… it was the CEO. It seems a little pricey but if you add up the Carl Martin effects it would take to make this pedal I calculated about 1400.00 So, it's a deal. I own several Carl Martin products. The Quattro is an excellent analog Multi-fx unit that you can easily dial In great tones with a tube amp. Spend some time with it and you will Find that each effect is great. Compressor 2 overdrives Chorus Delay with tap tempo. Fx loop 2 line outs. I use in two set ups: Run line out direct to tube amp input. Another is connect by 4 cable method Utilizing fx loop on pedal board and Tube amp's fx loop. And lastly, if no amp, run the line out Into a Carl Martin Rock Bug then to the mixer. This is a good back up in case your amp Goes out.musicmasterguitarist
Do you want one high quality multi effects pedal you can use for your stage rig? I wanted an all analog signal path, since I have a pretty sweet sounding hand-built amp, and you know how digital effects pedals can destroy your sound. Compressor: I play mostly country music with a Telecaster, so the compressor is an integral part of the sound. I kind of wish I had a bit more control over the compressor, such as an attack, and perhaps blend control. This compressor can really squeeze your sound – a little goes a long way. I set mine at only 9 O'Clock and still get a very squashed sound. I set the volume to make the output a bit higher than the input to push the front end of my amp a bit. Overdrive/Distortion: such a nice overdrive with my amp. There are two drive knobs – a low gain and high gain – with a switch for selecting which one is active. This is a great set up, since you can use Drive 1 for nice, barely overdriven rhythms and Drive 2 for high gain leads. Note that there is practically no increase in volume with switching to Drive 2 if the Drive knobs are set about the same, so it's very smooth switching back and forth. Chorus: I don't use chorus, but you may like how subtle the effect can be, just adding some fullness. A very good chorus, but not designed for radical modulation effects. Delay: Love the delay. It has tap tempo and that's the only way to set the delay time, so remember to tap in the initial value. Very analog-sounding, and the tone control is very useful, allowing the delay effect to stay in the background and not interfere with lead playing at all. This pedal is also nice and quiet, at least in my rig. There is a line buffer that cannot be bypassed, but it's a high quality buffer, I believe much better than the average Boss pedal. When you think of its intended purpose as a quick, all-in-one pedal, it makes sense that it would have an always-on buffer. The power supply is built in, so you just plug in the two-prong AC plug to your power bar. No wal-wart here. The only things I would change is to have a blend control (blend dry and compress signal), and an attack control, and perhaps a delay time control. However, these extra controls would take up more space, and comprimise the minimilist design of the unit, so perhaps it's perfect as is.Lance135

I really wanted and expected to like this pedal, given Bogner's great amps and this high price tag. I was so disappointed. The distortion tone is good, but nothing very special. What really turned me off was the way the dynamics are totally squashed. I have played less expensive pedals by Wampler, Fulltone, Hermida, etc. that have gorgeous tone and are much more responsive to picking dynamics. I used it on a couple of gigs and found that this is not a pedal that cuts through a live mix very well. That's probably why they had to build in that fancy boost footswitch with the variable gain and output – you will need the volume boost if you want your solos to be heard at all. Also, the YouTube demos are somewhat misleading about the amount of boost adjustment – you can only add a little bit of gain and/or output volume. I ended up returning this pedal and trying the Wampler Pinnacle, which I find much more impressive.FinalGuitarist
Tone wise, it sounds like a boutique Marshall or Soldano. Really great sound. Incredibly tube-like tone and response. I would be hard-pressed to tell the difference between this and a tube head at anything other than concert decibels. Great sound at bedroom practice levels, but it still gets LOUD if you crank the volume. Utterly perfect for anything ranging from rock to modern metal. No doubt it can do blues too. It even stacks great with traditional Tubescreamer style overdrives. Again, very tube-like response when you boost it for metal. Great response on the EQ. Scooped sounds really decent, but dialing in a "frown" gets really creamy.J
Comparing the Bogner Red Ecstacy to the Pinnacle is misleading. Which Pinnacle version? I've owned them both in various release configurations (with or without the boost) and found the Pinnacle to be one trick pony. Why buy a Bogner pedal (which never mentions EVH) if looking for the "brown sound"? The Pinnacle or the Mad Professor should have looked at first. And yes, the stripped down Pinnacle is still the same cost as the Brown. If you add the boost to the Pinnacle, you're gonna pay more still. A lot of pesos to cover one guy LOL. I've watched the PGS clip and I really like what I hear. I can't wait until mine comes next week. I currently own a C. Martin Plexitone, an AMT O2 Orange dist/preamp and a Plextortion so I'm not biased against Wampler products. My Micro Terror and Traynor 12" cab prove very flexible with the pedals I have. With the addition of the Ecstacy, I feel I have my bases covered for my set list. I don't need a Mesa pedal although I love 'em 'cause I don't play death or thrash. Bogner is awesome.TempleTantrum

Absolutely incredible sounds from this pedal, build quality is brilliant and the different reverb types are endless, only fault that I can say about it was the lack of instructions in the instruction booklet that comes with it ! Pretty much useless as far as how to navigate the preset menu? Fortunately I did find some guidance on YouTube on how to find said presets! But after i found out it’s been an absolute joy to use, I was thinking if it was worth the quite high price tag ? This pedal is amazing, plain & simple. I was instantly energized in playing through my repertoire when plugging this thing in for the first time. The control knobs allow for creative combinations that make unique sounds I've never before seen in a reverb pedal. There are several creative presets that I instantly knew I could use. All in all, it's an amazing, majestic sounding pedal that is definitely gonna be on my pedal board for a long time coming.

I'll make this short and sweet. This thing is packed with sounds and there is a natural delay that seems to be missing with other delay pedals. My only complaint is not the product but Sam Ash the selector knob and mod knob get stuck when I press down. I wish I could take it back but unfortunately I live to far away to take it back and the minor annoyance is not worth my trouble. If I can avoid buying from Sam Ash going forward I probably will.Loco
beautiful sounds and so much more. From spacy delay to psychedelic to slap or whatever delay you have in mind in just a few pushes and twists away. There are many presets on this pedal so yeah a multiswitch or a midi controller will be in your future shoppinglist. also if you download strymon librarian program you can change your presets on your laptop. but you wil need a special midi cable for that. for the people who are doubting between timeline and nemesis. there are some other sounds on each of them but the same you need a midiswitch for presets and the nemesis has also a app to change the presets? you cant go wrong with any of them!
