Bought this AB/Y pedal to allow me to use both my guitar amps…..Fender 68 Custom Princeton Reverb and Blues Jr. NOS (Tweed). I waffled back and forth between Morley, the Fender, and a more expensive one with lift, ground, etc. switches. I figured for the price (it was on sale after Thanksgiving) it would be noisy, hum, etc. but it's dead quiet and works EXACTLY as advertised. Years ago, I'd use my two Black face Fender Deluxe Reverbs by going out of the #2 input on the 1st amp and then go to the second Deluxe Reverb input #1, but you always had both amps on and the second one had to be set at a higher volume due to the #2 output being attenuated. This AB/Y pedal allows switching from one amp to the other, or having both on. Haven't tried using it with one amp and two guitars (the other option for the pedal's use). Get one if you've got two amps and want to use both!!64 Tele

Very well built and quality ABY. However, I fell for the the audiophile hype thst s non buffered ABY doesnt change youre tone. Thats true, but it also cuts the volume on the second output. I retuned it for a switchbone v2 and coulnt be happier. I debated the twin city, but went for the switchbone for the additional boost functions and am glad I did. Radial makes a great sturdy durable product, so if you truely need a powerless situation, this will work. Otw, go with the powered buffered pedalsCbouty
I was looking for an ABY switch pedal in order for me to play Rocksmith through my Spark amp so that I would be able to hear my guitar without turning the song down in the game. I was considering another brand but then came across the Big Shot and decided on it mainly due to the price being about $50 less than the other brand. The Big Shot also features a ground lift switch that the other brand didn't have, this features reduces the amount of feed back received when having both A&B amps on. Hooked the pedal to my Spark, PS4 and guitar and everything worked just as hoped it would. I've had this for about 3 weeks now and glad I chose the Big Shot by Radial.Andrew
After utilizing simple A/B boxes for my amp and effects chain switching. I had far too much noise and I needed a better solution. The Radial Bigshot is perfect. It fixed my amp polarity issues and I can't hear a change in the signal. Plus, with the LED's it's super easy to see my signal path on a dark stage. Completely happy, no brainer buy again solution.

Reviews:
I think it's fantastic that for 50 bucks you can get a signal splitter. I saw techniques online for creating beefier tones by splitting your signal to real amps and digital effects as well. It would be annoying to route a computer signal into an amp, and then back into the computer, so this defeats that method.

Got it for practicing with two different bass guitars running off one amp. Discovered that when we have an active guitar plugged into A and a passive guitar plugged into B, A's volume knob controlled B's output. As long as A was turned up, B could control its volume with its volume knob, but when A's volume knob was turned down, B's volume went down with it. Literally, A turning itself down could totally mute B. This really isn't a problem as long as you know that. If you want total, independent control, you might want to look for a buffered ABY solution. We also tried it running a Fender Strat guitar into the Y, and the AB outputs were run into a dual input tube preamp that had a Fender input and a Marshall input. Running the AB outputs of the switch into each of the amp's inputs allowed us to very quickly compare the difference between the two inputs and it was very noticeable. One input was very clean and the other had a little distortion added. We got the fattest, richest sound running both inputs simultaneously.schwagerjt
Pedal works perfectly however the base is warped so won't sit on a flat surface. Mine goes on a carpet so not an issue. Might not work on a pedal board. There are no problems with the sound and very flexible ins and outs. The addition of gain on each input is invaluable as I'm mixing magnetic and piezo pickups.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
7. Morley Selector Combiner Aby
Product Details:
This is a simple, passive 2-1 or 1-2 switch. because it is passive, the signal can flow freely in either direction. you can take two signals and send it to one output simultaneously (i.e. you can combine them into one), or can select between the signals, sending only one signal at a time to your external device, essentially muting the other. these are great little boxes and served me well in the few situations that i needed them. they are in great condition and you can't beat the price point.

Makes it way easier to put my TC Helicon Play Guitar near the power source and control it remotely. I did end up getting an extra TRS cable that was longer (25 ft) so I could move the remote even further away from the box. By the way, it arrived way earlier than I was expecting. Thanks!sharkzz
Very solid pedal. No power source or battery needed. I use with the play acoustic to switch on/off guitar chorus, boost and vocal harmony. Allows me to keep the play acoustic on a stand for easy use without bending down to the floor to make adjustments. You can select what you want the pedal to control, looper, or up and down through harmony presets for instance, adjustable through the play acoustic settings. Uses a TRS cable (provided) to connect to play acoustic (regular instrument cable won't work). Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that there is no on/of indicator light for each switch to let you know when your effect is on or off. TRS cable rather short (6ft), with straight jacks which may be enough for you, I chose to get a longer replacement off ebay with one end a 90 degree angle so it doesn't stick out of the pedal so far which works great for me. Check out you tube to see how it works. Great addition to the play acoustic!c-cwerner

Very well built, and easy to maintain. when added in with the Ground Control Pro, the user has an ultimate setup that can make changing signals extremely easy and versatile. There are several advantages in using this product as it gives so much flexibility with very little effort by the user. I have used the GCX with absolutely no problems, I would highly recommend this product.John B.
I spent a long time searching for that elusive solution to one stomp to control pedals, MIDI devices and amp channel switching. Coupled with the Ground Control, this switch can be configured to use or bypass your favorite pedals (in front of your preamp), operate your MIDI rack effects (for behind your preamp) and actually control your channel switching of your preamps. With a single stomp, I can switch to my high gain preamp, feed through my overdrive pedal, and switch to my G-Major's lead preset. No more stomping on three different switches every time I do something as simple as change to a lead tone. The switch uses relays, so there's no degridation of the original signal as experienced with transistor switches. It's expandable, too… you can chain up to three of them together. I can't see ever having to redesign my rig again.Model Me Obsolete Guitarist
In the end I rely heavily on this unit, and have been completly satisfied. It has met all my needs and enabled me to streamline my rig greatly. Voodoo labs smaller pedal version of this unit may be a better value for individuals that don't need as many loops. I hope that one day voodoo labs offers a second version of the GCX that supplies power, is color coated for trouble shooting, and offers channel linking. 8 independent loops allow effects an processors to be switched out in real time, perform channel switching, or rout between preamps. I use loop one as a kill switch (and to tune silently, via the second out put of the buffered input). loops 2 &3 for each channel of a dbx compressor; switching between lead and rhythm compression. Loop 4 for a boss octave effect (which does load down the signal slightly when bypassed). Loop 7&8 are used to switch between presence 1&2 and volume 1&2 on an engl 540/50. All this plus multieffect processors are controlled via the ground control pro with an easy setup time and flawless integration. I do wish that the loops were color coded for quich trouble shooting (i used colorful electric tape). I would have liked to have seen a swich to link channels to avoid using jumper cables. And a Built in power supply could prove valuable to people more pedal oriented then me. I have also used this unit to switch between inputs of a dual rec and a Peavy JSX, as well as swich function on the dual rec flawlessly. I have had absolutely no problems with this unit in 4 years of use. Voodoo labs tech support is incredible and they demonstrate a myriad of complex set ups on their website. Even with repeated pluging and unplugging of cords i have yet tohave a jack go bad. The power supply is robust but fits on a monster power conditioner easily. Since the Jacks are gold I used mogami gold cables for better conductence and intend to have the rest of my input and output jacks switched to gold later. The only reson that this unit does not get a ten in this department is i wished that they would have included a way to link channels instead of having to use a jumper cable via a switch. I also would like to have seen a some form of powersupply built in like on the TC electronics G-system. For its price & features it is an awsome value and outstanding tool for complex or even just simpilifying a rig that already uses MIDI.tom-J1AjT

Reviews:
I bought this because I wanted to switch between a Friedman Dirty Shirley and another Friedman Head I don't have yet (saving up) but i do have an Orange amp to get things going and to try the new switcher. Connecting was simple, programming it was a breeze, it looks great and I loved the led lights, big and bright. Everything is now working plus the tuner out, the problem is there is a hum depending on where I'm standing, even in the best position there is a hum. I now tried completely isolating the power supply from my tuner, no change. I don't have any other pedals. The next problem is there is a popping sound when switching amps, I tried all the hum reducing features but they were already in the best position, without the ground loop or phase thing the hum is about five times louder, so those hum reducers work but there is still humming going on. The popping made me a little scared so I turned down the gain and volume very very low to not hurt my brand new 4×12 Friedman bottom. All the cables are brand new Mogami gold cables, but I just touched one of the cable ends on the switcher side and it crackled, I started to move it more and the cracking sound was loud. I disconnected the switcher to test all the cables straight into the amp and total silence, not to mention I can dime the Dirty Shirley with barely a hiss, It's the most silent amp I've ever heard. That being said after hooking everything back up it was one of the output jacks again that was crackling loudly. So between the popping, humming and hissing, and crackling on one of the outputs made me return this. There is no way I'm using a switcher that can not only damage my speakers with the popping (I can only imagine what would have happened if my amp was loud) but hums like crazy depending on where you're standing. I got this after reading many good reviews and it looks like they make quality stuff, I'm sure I just got a defective one, I did however lose confidence with the Lehle Dual SGos.Moe

I was using mine to switch amps and was getting hum in the non-selected amp. So I opened up the box and found out why. All the needed components are inside for silent and properly grounded construction, only EH didn't bother to do it right!!1) All jacks' negative leads are grounded to the chassis and they even connect the jacks lugs together. This results in ground loop humming2) the non-selected jack's positive lead isn't shunted to ground, again creating hum3) the jacks that come with the pedal include the ability to shunt the positive to the negative when a plug isn't in the jack. This feature wasn't being used, so again humming resulted. It took me a half hour to re-design the circuit and another half hour to re-solder it correctly. Now that I have, the thing is dead silent. The non-active jack shunts it's ground so if you're using it to switch amps, the non-active one won't be humming. All jacks now shunt their positive and negative when a plug's not in them, which means if you disconnect the input your amps are silent. What's especially sad about all this is that EH actually went to the trouble of creating PCBs for the circuit to make assmebly easy. But they did it wrong, so I had to cut all their nice PCBs apart to repair what should never have passed quality control. What is up with companies that put SOOO little thought into doing things correctly?! EH could've done the job right for the same cost as doing it wrong. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.Feel free to contact me if you want a conversion schematic and instructions.FrostBottomBoys
this is a good switch. There is some bleed through but only at really high volumes but its negligible. It has no batteries or power and no popping when switching between amps. For the price it works great. its lightweight and its tough. not sure how it would work for pedal loops but for my use its perfect.Anonymous
I needed an A/B box to change signal path from my strat's signal chain so I could route it to a tuner and kill my normal output in order to tune silently. It would also go out through the tuner to a separate clean amplifier in case of failure in one of my pedal chain.I came across the new Electro-Harmonix Nano Switchblade. It has cool cosmetics, its lightweight, and a solid cast frame that gives it a sturdy feel. The price tag is friendly, too. However, when I plugged in both units and powered my amps on, I heard a noticeable buzzing on the silent channel. When I switched over, I had the loud hum on the other channel. This shouldn't happen. I would suggest stepping up to a whirlwind.Great idea, good price, and nice, compact size, but doesn't deliver on performance. Will be sending mine back.Dave-yrs8g

Reviews:
I use this to plug an acoustic and electric into a looper. In so doing I can lay down a rhythm track with the electric and solo with the acoustic or vice versa. It's a great pedal and does exactly what I need it to do. Just beautiful. Blue light for one guitar, red light for another. I love it.G2
It's a mini pedal, it's not going to have a battery compartment. It's a passive pedal, it doesn't need power. The description states that DC Power is required for the LED light to function. What pedal have you EVER purchased that came with a FREE DC ADAPTER?! This is a great, compact device for switching sources. Be it 2 amps or a normal and top boost channel – you won't be disappointed.Not-a-Dumby
