Had my reservations about buying this, a cheap headphone amp, as I have had others in the past and the o/d or distortion always sound awful. Don't get me wrong it isn't replacing my Marshall amp, but for a really portable and handy headphone amp it is great. I can use this, and move, whilst the kids are in bed, no more having to be 2 mtrs from my big amp….. As a practice and experimenting tool I love this!gastall1978

Reviews:
NUX Mighty Plug is a very cool gadget, easy-to-use and the phone/tablet, Android app is great for tweaking your guitars voice to the sound you desire, I have only had it for about 3 hours now and already very familiar with the Mighty Plug and the app. There are many reviews on YouTube that will teach you to use it in no time. The sound may not be 100% perfect but let's face it they have put a guitar amplifier and many effects on the end of a plug which isn't much bigger than a matchbox Worth the money I'm sure I'm going to have a lot of fun with itfnewbery
Great sound and easy edit from the phone app. Built it drums for practice/warmup. It also uses backing tracks but I haven't figured out how to have them play through the plug (they play in the phone). Also have another brand plug amp, this sound much better with added effects and multiple voicings. Rechargeable makes it better than my other battery unit. Could easily be a 5 star, except for the confusion with the backing track( not explained well) and possible longevity issues with the battery down the road.B.R.Williams
4. Blackstar Amplug2 Fly Headphone Guitar Amp
Product Details:
The blackstar amplug2 fly guitar headphone amp is the perfect silent practice solution for any guitarist. battery-powered, these headphone amps are super compact allowing you to carry real blackstar tone wherever you go, perfect for when inspiration strikes. on the fly there are three channels on the amplug2 fly guitar with clean, crunch and lead tones. each has the tone shaping capabilities offered by blackstar's patented isf feature to ensure you have every sound you need. the clean chimes nicely and has a warm break-up when pushed, the crunch has a classic tone 'hot-rodded' with clarity and definition and finally the lead setting gives you a harmonically-rich, mid-boosted overdrive that's great for heavy riffing and lead playing. infinite shape feature this patented technology allows you to sculpt your sound to the exact tonal signature you prefer. at it's lowest setting, isf allows for an 'american' characteristic with a tight bottom-end and aggressive mid-range tones. turn it higher and you get the quintessential 'british' sound characteristic, less aggressive and more 'woody'. nine built-in effects can be selected on any channel, with three each of chorus, delay and reverb, great for adding texture to your tone when practicing. anytime, anywhere the amplug2 fly has a foldable input jack that rotates 180 degrees, ensure it will fit into any guitar body type. with 17 hours of play time from two aaa batteries you can play for longer and the handy auto power-off feature means that after 30 minutes of no signal the unit will automatically turn itself off. the blackstar amplug2 fly guitar headphone amp is a fantastic little unit that will suit the newbie guitarist wanting to play late into the night, or the veteran player looking to warm up backstage or flesh out ideas in between shows.
Reviews:
So I am writing this review after using it for a week straight and my conclusion is this: great sound for your buck. I've been reading some of these negative reviews and it's unbelievable that these reviews leave you thinking that this device should sound and act like a $500 amp but in all reality it is not. It's a practice amp used for those situations where noise level is an issue. It has great tones and great effects. Yes it's very limited, but you're not locked in to any one tone. Roll of on the gain and you have some Texas blues tones. As for the effects, they are good. Not the best, but good. If you're looking to jam out and practice your chops just get it. Don't listen to those negative reviews.
Seems as well built as the other options I've seen. Better tonal range than Vox and better than having to buy 2 or three devices. First impressions were not that good but as I've used it a bit more I can see me getting more used to it. I probably expected to much and was basing my hopes on the FLY amps. I think the effects are too limited to be worthwhile and would prefer Blackstar to focus on better amp tone. Still, I'm happy with it and for the type of device this is I know of nothing that sounds better. If I lost it I would probably look at the latest options but as it stands this is still the one I would buy. I think all of this type of device are over priced when you consider what a small amp costs but for portable practice in a small space it can't be beaten. This Blackstar amplug is in my opinion the best VFM option available.Paul S.
Amazing bit of kit for the price! Clean, over drive and distortion channels in a small box the amps to headphones perfectly! Can’t really comment on the effects as not really tried them out! But if you need a tiny portable amp that connects to your headphone for practice i would throughly recommend! Just noticed it even has aux in so I can listen to my Fender tutors without having to have 2 different sets of headphones on the go!!! Total novice managed to get it working in 3 minutes without reading the instructions!Mike

Reviews:
I recently a BOSS Katana Artist MkII amplifier (which I have reviewed elsewhere) and love it. However, it is somewhat of a pain to connect my phone and studio headphones to it to do a little nighttime jamming – both of those require cables, which makes setup and teardown enough pain that I don't want to do it. When I heard of the WAZA-AIR, I found it is almost exactly a Katana in convenient headphone shape. To be clear, I love this thing. It sounds good enough that I will play it and it is a snap to get started. I traded a Fender Mustang Micro for the WAZA-AIR, and the two are not even in the same ballpark. To be fair, the Mustang is about a third the price, so I'm not surprised, but if you are struggling to get a good sound from a Mustang – and if you have the cash – the WAZA-AIR is likely to do what you need. The software and firmware are…finicky at times. There are a few oddities that I can't explain that differ from the Katana software. For instance, it appears that I cannot use both a Booster and the Modulation at the same time. I don't get that. I can still connect a wireless MIDI controller to the WAZA-AIR, and that might open up more possibilities. It's also another investment, and I'm still trying to determine if being able to hit a pedal is worth it. Overall, I do recommend the WAZA-AIR. It sounds great, the convenience can't be beaten, and it is just very solid and feels right. There are a couple of strange parts that – so far – do not detract enough from the experience for me to try to change them. If you are reading this now, I recommend you give it a try. You'll probably be impressed.Robert
I have both the Waza Air Guitar and Waza Air Bass and like them both. The headphones are comfortable and it's great to be wireless. Like others have mentioned, I do lose the Bluetooth signal from the transmitter to the headphones every now and then, but it isn't too bad. The intermittent loss of Bluetooth is easy to compensate for by just unplugging the transmitter from the cable jack, on either the guitar or bass, and re-plugging it in. Each time, when I first start using them, I'm careful to put the headphones on my coffee table, turn them on, and let them stay still for a little while, as not to confuse the gyros. They mention letting them stay still for a short while in the online information, and it seems to work, as I have not noticed the drifting others have mentioned. I do sometimes get a brief bit of static, but this is mostly on the Waza Air Bass set, and was possibly or partially due to some fret buzz I had before I got a good set up on the bass. The static might also occur a little bit more when the Bass is in active mode rather than a passive Bass mode. The thing I love about the Waza Air's is the ability to practice at all hours and not make too much sound that would bothering my neighbor. I've used the Mustang Micro guitar headphone amp, which is great too, but I like the cordless operation of the Waza Air. The Waza Air Bass is probably one of the few good solutions for headphones to use with a bass, as there aren't many other options. The Waza Air Guitar is a great solution for guitar, and though there are other options for guitar, so far I like using the Waza Air Guitar better. Since I have both the Bass and Guitar versions of the Waza Air I also have a total of two charge cables to charge both the transmitter and headphones at the same time, which I like. I mark the different components with a piece of Artist tape so I don't mix up the Guitar and Bass versions. I also am careful to charge each of the headphones with the correct original cable for each one. You cannot use the unit and charge it at the same time however. The transmitter often needs no charging after one use and seems to charge very quickly. The headphones take a little longer to charge and do not have as many hours of operation per charge as the transmitter. They say the headphones get about 5 hours of use per charge and the transmitter about 12 hours of use per charge. That said, I have never depleted the charge on either unit during one usage. I use my older standard Apple iPhone chargers (cubes with the green dots that are USB A connections) to charge the units, as they say not to use a rapid charger. Overall, I think both the Waza Air guitar and Waza Air Bass are great and I'm very happy I have them. They are a bit pricy, but not too bad, if you consider that you are getting a transmitter, a receiver, and headphones all included. Your experience might vary but I'm glad I got them, think they are great, and love practicing whenever I want.
I am not sure, but I don't think anyone has ever invented this. It's just headphones that connect to your electric guitar wirelessly, right? In fact, I was just thinking of this, before I discovered these on Sam Ash – because i was sitting there, tangled in headphone wires, guitar cables, and I wondered – can't somebody do this wirelessly? So I did a search, and voi la! Here's the other thing – inside the phones, it sounds like outside the phones. In other words, these are not JUST wireless guitar headphones – they are wireless amplifier headphones. The one thing I don't like – and maybe someone knows the answer – but, the controls, through the app, are pretty limited. Or at least, it's not like a amp modeler, like Spark. But then, Spark is not like Amplitube – actually models hundreds of real amplifier setups – from the real world. If the WAZA could pair up with something like Amplitube, it would be over the top.kronikole

Does exactly what it's supposed to do. In a crowded room, with lots of cell phones and laptops, I plugged the receiver into my pedal board, and the transmitter into one of my Strats. I had no drops or interference of any kind. Units were left on for about 4.5 hours, and had plenty of charge to play at home. . . for some time in fact, and the indicators NEVER showed a need for recharge, I just did it. Recharge takes a while, but so far, I'm VERY HAPPY with my purchase.rizeri_v8mp6o

Reviews:
So far so good. I have only been using them for about a week now, but they seem to be meeting my needs. I used to have 3m worktunes, I went through 2 sets of them and had issues with the wire that connected each side of the headset breaking and they no longer worked. These appear ti be much more sturdy and well built. The connection cable between the two sides of the headset is much thicker and should not have the issues I had with 3m. I work 10 hour shifts and the battery has lasted through the entire shift. One odd thing is the headset automatically seems to shut off after about 4 hours of use all by itself. I just power it back on and off I go. Not sure what the reason is or why this feature is in there, other than to preserve battery life if you are not using them to play audio and forgot they were on and paired to a phone. For what I use them for, I am satisfied so far. As far as noise reduction, they do as they are designed and do cut out quite a bit of noise. I do find I have to take them off to hear someone talking to me at work, though I do work in a very noisy shop with presses and other stamping machinery that is very loud. Between my not so great hearing and all the background noise, I have a hard time hearing anyone talking with these on. As far as comfort, like any headset of this type, they do "Squeeze" a bit on your head. This does not bother me as I have worn this type of hearing protection before, and prefer it as it holds my safety glasses on my face better so they don't fall off when I bend over. Some folks don't like the squeeze feeling and prefer the earplug type protection. I have talked with a couple of employees how they like the ISOtunes in the plug style and they say they like them. ISOtunes has a few different options for this. I personally don't care for the in ear plugs as I have smaller ear canals and they tend to irritate more due to this, thus my over the ear preference. I have read reviews where the headband bothers people, especially with "Bald" heads. I do shave my hair (What is left of it) down pretty close, but I have a few weeks growth right now, so I can't say how they feel when they are directly on my skin. My opinion is if folks do have an issue with this, wear a ball cap or wrap a bandanna around the headband so it doesn't bother you. Again, so far so good for me. Overall quality, construction, battery life and sound all meet my expectations. They will prove their value over time as long as they don't have any failures that would render them useless. They are a bit more expensive than the 3m worktunes, but appear to have a much better quality of build and workmanship for about $25 more pending on where you purchase them.David
The wife and i love them, great for mowing, long battery life eazy set up.RevBob

Great little unit. Plug and play which is perfect for me. A fantastic recording tool.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
I bought one of these with the intention of purchasing more for my classroom. Once I figured out how to use it (not hard), I fell in love. The app they recommend isn't the best which made it seem harder to use initially, but there are soooo many other amazing apps that work with it (I prefer the tonebridge app since it models any song effects you can think of and is free and foolproof). Now the device is super easy to use and I love how I can toggle between sending the feed into an amp or exclusively into headphones. This will make my playing tests and recording the students a breeze, not to mention saving everyone's ears while the kids try to work out riffs or chord progressions.Dave

Reviews:
This is built predominantly for ipad/iphone users and would work straight out of the box for them. I use android and unfortunately the pack had cables for older android devices and didn't come with usb-c cables that more modern android devices use. I'm using my windows laptop for now and it works perfectly with amplitude 5. Sounds is quite reasonable, and you can play backing tracks or any audio through your computer and play along. Looking forward to being able to use it through my phone. It's more portable than my laptop, and have more apps available to choose from such as tonebridge to use with my ultimate guitar subscription.
I didn’t think there were enough reviews around the pro. I wanted to use it playing for a complete session, so 2-3 hours of continuous use. I mainly use an acoustic guitar but I made this purchase to save carrying my main fx board. It took a little bit of setup (mainly trying to find a nice clean sound that represents my acoustic), but the unit works better than expected. I’m running it off an iPhone 6 Plus and find it perfect to use. Might be easier to manipulate on an iPad, but I wanted portability. I am totally blown away with the quality of the product and the amount of leads and adaptors it ships with to run from any device. MONEY WELL SPENT!Graham A.
It’s pretty lightweight but it works like it should. Great for traveling.Dan

Reviews:
I had read that the band adjusters for these headphones were very stiff and didn't extend enough to fit some users heads comfortably but I had neither of these problems and found them very comfortable to wear, with very soft enclosing earpads (and I have big ears!) The sound quality listening to music via bluetooth is great and latency seems low. Many reviewers have commented that these phones emphasise the bass, possibly slightly too much, but comparison with my older wired headphones actually seemed to give a little less bass than them, so who knows. They work well and are nice looking, I would recommend the OneOdio A70 headphones.jellyfishaudio

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For those looking for an on-ear headset this is a good option depending on your needs. Charging the headset is pretty quick so if you only have a few minutes 10 minutes will give you 90 minutes of play. A full charge is great and I can use it multiple times before needing the charge it. It says it makes it 35 hours on a full charge and after using it for a while, I agree. In regards to what I don’t like about the charging, a charging cord that was a longer would be beneficial, the short cord makes it more difficult to charge because it barley allows the headphones to rest securely on the counter without standing them up against something. The headset itself adjusts easily to my head size and is comfortable sitting on my ears. The sound of the headphones is good. I feel that playback is clear and crisp. The Bluetooth range is good as well. I can get 20-30 feet away from my phone and I don’t lose the connection. It connects quickly to the phone without me having to mess around and figure out what’s happening. The buttons for power and volume and easy to decipher on the headset. Using them with the headset is on is taking some adjustment. It’s quicker and easier to adjust the what I need on the phone as opposed to using the headphone. The headphones have a mic for making calls but I DON’T LIKE THIS FEATURE AT ALL. When trying to use it for calls all I hear is myself in stereo. Me talking and my talking coming through the headphones. The person on the other end of the call said I sounded fine but I found it overly distracting. My final thoughts on these headphones are if you’re looking for an on-ear headset option for the purpose of listening to music, podcasts or videos then this is a good option. It lasts for hours, charges quickly and is comfortable to wear. The lack of longer charging cord isn’t a reason to not buy this product and hopefully a cord with some more length is something Sony will look into. If you’re looking for something to chat and make phone calls with, look for something else. I definitely recommend these headphones depending on your needs.JamieM
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sony WH-CH510 Wireless Headphones is a great set of headphones with quality sound! Right out of the box, they feel great and are lightweight. I did charge them for about 6 hours before using them. Setting them up wirelessly with my computer and smartphone is just a matter of fixing the settings to bluetooth. Then once it scans and finds the WH-CH510 and you click to pair them, it takes a few seconds for it to say they are connected. The buttons on the right earphone is where the setting buttons are located and easy to use and adjust volume. Very easy to get used to where the buttons are located. The head band is easy to adjust to fit each person that uses it. The ear cups cover the ears well and they swivel also to make them easier to move around. They are great for the whole family to use for games, homework and especially music. They cover the ears so they keep out the extra noises and the great quality sound in your ear. The buttons have the ability to play, stop or skip tracks and adjusting the up and down volume so easily. It will also allow you to access your phone's voice assistant and communicate with your contacts. With the built in microphone, you can also make hands free calling as well. They have a battery life up to 35 hours of continuous play on a full charge with the included USB type-C cord. I would highly recommend the Sony WH-CH510 Wireless Headphones for overall great sound quality that are lightweight and easy to setup and operate! Happy listening!DStock
I had read reviews before choosing these wireless headphones, and had hoped (but was sceptical) that the reality would live up to reviews. Honestly I have to say I think theyre probably as good or better than the reviews suggest.A big pro for this product is the price point. Obviously wireless headphones are expensive, and this had prevented us buying them until a few months ago when we found these at a price we were happier with. They are such a great product! The battery never seems to run out. Each time you turn them on it gives you an indication of whether the battery is nearly full, around 75%, 50% etc. While we dont use them every day, we probably use them at least a few hours each week, and I dont think weve charged them in three months, yet the battery is still at 50%!The sound quality and volume levels are really good, and being wireless and easy to connect, it means that theyre perfect for commuting, or we can watch Netflix on our phone without disturbing the other person even while they sleep, or just while doing chores where a wired connected would get in the way. It really is very easy to connect your phone, adjust the volume, pause, fast forward and rewind. The ear pieces are soft and comfortable, and also rotate freely to suit different head shapes or store easily while travelling. I would 100% recommend this product to anyone considering wireless headphones or just good quality headphones in general.anonymous

I purchased these to replace an earlier Sony model which had given faithful service for many years. The sound quality is excellent and they are very comfortable to wear. I particularly like the stand which incorporates the transmitter, you just have to place the headphones on the stand to recharge them. Overall, excellent product.Gary01
I bought this last May. It was easy to set up and gave good sound. One problem was that they were a bit tight and uncomfortable on the ears, though I have a small head. Over the following months it became looser, often slipping off my head if I bent forward. Today it slipped off my head and hit my knee, breaking the plastic arm connecting the left headphone just above the headphone. It had only fallen about 30 inches and I would have thought it should have survived that. I think the plastic had become brittle after less than 12 months. I guess the 2 year guarantee won't cover this so I will have to replace it. Incidentally my previous Panasonic headphones also broke in the same place but they lasted over five years though they cost less. I did use these Sony headphones for hours every day. I will try to find replacement headphones with metal rather than plastic arms next time.Max1951
Bought these to help watching TV. Very comfortable and relatively light on the head. My hearing is not too good and worse in my right ear. Unfortunately there is no left right volume adjustment. The left/right side of the headset is not always easy to get at first and certainly getting the headset and stand aligned is a bit of luck. These crits do not detract from the overall function, but a little more R&D may have helped. Thank you.RWest

Reviews:
V-MODA Crossfade 2 are headphones, unlike anything you experienced before…Heck, they are unlike anything I've tried before with all my years of reviewing headphones. Really these have made me have higher expectations for headphones in this price range. I mean I can rave on and on about how they good they are but I love to take a moment to about the presentation first before. The box itself feels like they took love and honor crafting itself. To be perfectly honest I feel like this is equitant to getting keys to a Ferrari for audiophiles. I never really talk about unboxing experiences but I feel like if you are a fan of electronics you would appreciate this to the highest levels. The carrying hook on the box itself has leather straps it feels and it's insane. Once you get past that point you pull out the headphones and greeted with lots of premium instructions and products to other V-Moda things like the boom mic. They give you a card called "50% IMMORAL LIFE" program where if they break you can get a new pair for half the price. I don't know any other company who would offer such a thing but trust me you would want to sign up. This is great and BIG thumbs up to V-Moda for looking out for their customers. The V-MODA Crossfade 2 Design is unlike anything ever encountered. They call it "Milano Design" I call it "Bliss in luxury." I can't find another word to say other then it is pure premium. Crossfade 2 has a bold yet luxury style to them. And yes its enough to turn heads to even people with other headphones on. (I was in an art store in Chicago and a man with Bose QC35 turned his head in disgust lol.) If you want to get really serious about being customizable you can buy "Sheilds" that are custom to your liking raging from $25 to $35,000…Yep, you heard that correctly. There are basic colors, 3D plated prints, leather, and some made out of platinum/24 ct. gold. They have so many more and even get your name printed. World-class quality? No, more like Universe-class quality. You should know these headphones are well built. Hi-res CCAW coils, Memory foam on the cups, Super strong hinge, Soft & comfortable ergonomic headband made out of steel inside, Reinforced cable if you need it, Clicky strong Bluetooth buttons and 50MM cups on the hears are perfectly fitted to your head. Nothing was cut out for your comfort at all and V-Moda understands this. The sound is beast and is worldly, with the cord you can get 5Hz to 40k Hz full of pure sound, I have an iPhone (AAC) but with an android, you get even more benefits with Qualcomm's APX sound which AMAZING when I tried it with a Galaxy S7+ there is nothing like it. Speaking of which there is passive noise cancelation, which to me easily trump active on any headphones on the market today. Every single sound is delivered to you as raw and pure as it can leaving levels and bass out evenly. The headphones are lightweight though I'm not sure I'll wear them to the Gym, it is possible to work out in these but for how long is remain to be seen. On a hot summer day in Chicago walking downtown, I did have to put them out after a while but luckily the Exo case that comes with the headphones. There is an area inside where you can make the case breathable so the sweat can dry out. Also, Zero Latency with the cord that's included so you can use it for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One with ease (there is also a boom mic you can buy if you also want to get serious for gaming but the cord included works just fine.) Battery life stays true to what V-Moda promised. Used the headphones all weekend and they just died on me but hey last the promised 14+ hours. I managed to squeeze 15+ out of them without worrying about BT. inside you get Speakeasy cable with mic, USB cable for charging, 1/4" Pro adapter and that's it. Bluetooth can connect to 2 devices at once like the iPhone and iPad at the same time. To me, these are the best I've ever had period.V-MODA Crossfade 2 is downright the headphones of the year at this point. Nothing even comes close to my hears and V-Moda is a company I'm going to keep my eyes on. Nothing cheapens the experience with these and one I would proudly spend the money on. Not sure your friends would spend the money on these but I will only recommend Crossfade 2. The warranty alone makes you feel good owning these. The "Ferrari" of headphone sounds are here…V-MODA Crossfade 2 is better than the rest.CrysisComplex
The price taken on upper side mostly for design but the earcup should have been large to fit ear tightly and correctly. The sound signature though not nuetral but it claims v signature sound but it doesn't excel in that department. While ath m50x is better than it in soundstage and bass. So it is not that much good for dj as bass matter. Otherwise it is same as ath m50x with price on upper side just for design.User
As of writing, I have used my V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless for a period of about 10 months. I really enjoy the sound signature on these headphones and they're great for J-Pop. I also found them to be comfortable, sturdy, and great for travel in general. The ear cushions weren't as uncomfortable as several other reviews led me believe despite having large ears. One critical design flaw is that they are not comfortable to wear around your neck, at all. The other critical design flaw is the Bluetooth failure. In the 10 months that I have owned my headphones, I have already sent them back for RMA twice. Each time I suffered the same issue: audio over Bluetooth failed after a few months, each time the audio on the left side would first begin to get distorted, and then stop altogether. My warranty coverage ends in about a month, and it is my hope that the left side completely stops working in that span of time so that I can send my headphones back for the third time before they surely and inevitably fail yet again. For a pair of headphones worth as much as these are, it's shockingly poor quality-control. I suppose there's a reason V-Moda offers a 2-year warranty on its wired products and only a 1-year warranty on its wireless headphones. Stick to the wired products, steer clear of the Crossfade 2 Wireless!Akash S.

What a great sounding mini amp. I've had to use headphone mini amps for the last 15 years due to time constraints and location of practice area. I didn't want to use the precious practice time I had just to set up full size amp for only an hour or so and then return everything back to storage area. It was so much simpler and convenient just to plug a mini amp into my guitar, put on head set and play. Down side was always the quality of the mini amps I was using. I was getting them for around half of what a vox cost.. I always wanted a vox but they were expensive. After joining mf rewards club and making several purchases I bought my vox for about half price by applying my points to the purchase. I should have never waited. This vox is 10 times better than the cheaper brands. As soon as I opened the packaging and held it in my hand I could feel the quality. When I first plugged it in and started playing I got really upset. Not at the mini amp but at myself for waiting so long. I highly recommend buying this mini amp. Trust me. It's really worth it and you'll be glad you did.Horn
I have enjoyed playing with this headphone amp quite a bit. It is lightweight, has a lot of features for the price and is easy to use. The one set back I have experienced, is that the plug in jack does not lock in a position, it has loosened with use. I can reccomend this type of amp for anyone who wants to practice with volume and effects that should not disturb others. I will likely purchase other styles of this headphone amp in the future.
Cannot praise this device highly enough. It sounds great, and is ridiculously versatile for such a small device, comprising not only Gain, Tone and Volume controls, together with three levels each of effects options Chorus, Delay and Reverb, but also Clean, Crunch and Lead. Two AAA batteries are required (included), and give hours of usage. Just plug it into your guitar, attach headphones (decent pair of over-ear type are best, but don't need to be expensive) and, if wishing to practice over a track by your favourite band, simply attach an appropriate device such as a tablet or 'phone. If you require to free your amPlug2 sound from the confines of headphones, Vox also offer a mini, 2 watt, amPlug2 amp/speaker to which you attach your amPlug2 and play out loud (but not loud enough to annoy the neighbours. The wonderful Vox 50 watt amp/cab stack Mini Superbeetle Audio blue tooth speaker also doubles as a guitar amp, complete with amPlug2 compatibility, but at full volume, this would definitely annoy the next door neighbours, and possibly those further afield. The amPlug has given me new found freedom to play and practice without needing to wait for opportunities where it can be done without audibly intruding on the personal space of others in the household. I have subsequently invested in the equally good Classic Rock amPlug2 (and which, on balance, I prefer), together with both the aforementioned Vox Mini amPlug2 cab/speaker and Superbeetle Audio blue tooth amp/speaker stack. Basically, the freedom afforded by the amPlug2 headphone amp has reinvigorated my love of guitar playing, and I try to squeeze in some practice time on a daily basis. I even felt enthused enough to unnecessarily treat myself to a new guitar. This amPlug2 is real value for money, but it has inadvertently cost me a small fortune.johnclark1954

Bought for work in lab and commute. Read reviews saying they leak sound too much for this purpose but have found that I can hear fine whilst not disturbing others. They do let pretty much all sound in though, so tube goers beware! Sound quality is great, especially over wired. In terms of wireless audio quality I'd say they punch a little below their price point. Battery life is also fantastic, easily get 2 week's worth of listening. Comfort was the main selling point for me. They unfortunately don't come with a case and would absolutely recommend buying as an extra.Joesd
I've been looking for headphones with great quality audio (i listen to music day), bluetooth (so I can leave the computer and make a cup of coffee) and wasn't really able to find that. I tried the Koss BT540i and they were terrible – awful audio quality, the earpads would always slip off and were difficult to get back on, etc. Then I stumbled across these after conceding blue-tooth and looking to buy a pair of regular corded Grados. And not only do I find bluetooth but a very decent mic as well. These things are worth every penny. The only thing that could be improved? Keep this model as the entry level but make a more expensive pair out of metal with easily replaceable parts. I would pre-order that.Toby K.
These headphones are unusual in more ways than one and that sense of their difference is immediately conspicuous from their retro' design integrity to the sound signature that they deliver. I had tried a series of Bluetooth headphones and never found any of them to be faithful to the original sound files without significant diminishment in quality. Or, the headphones produced a sound that was either too bright, too thin or insubstantial overall. Often, even if the sound seemed acceptable, the price most certainly was not. Then came these. Whilst their design might not be everybody's taste, they are indisputably light and very portable though the head-cups make them look a little larger in real life than they appear in most of the videos and pictures that I had seen, certainly. The Bluetooth pairing is fast and seamless with all devices and the sound quality is not only pleasingly close to the wired version (blissfully short cable included; perfect for travel and home use, too) but it is also not far off that which you obtain when using the cable! Battery life is way beyond Grado's suggested 15 hour window. I managed to get over 20 hours after the first charge which was a pleasant surprise. As for the sound; when testing these in store (Swiss Cottage) I tried them alongside the Dali headphones and found these to be way too flat, insipid even. I also noticed that vocals were not engaging and instrument separation was nigh on non-existent. I found them so brittle as to be unbearable. I switched to the Grado GW-100s. These have an immediacy, clarity, liveliness, warmth (without being coloured), bass sensitivity without being dominant and, most delightfully of all, instrument articulation that makes instruments settle in all the right places and the overall sound seem to occupy different spaces in the head rather than in either ear (something that could not be said of the Dali's, sadly). They are a touch bright in the treble and at higher frequencies (AT FIRST) but after a few hours of listening they soften and the initial, ostensible hint of, harshness dissipates. These headphones look great, rest comfortably on the head, are superbly and conveniently light, have that critical detachable cable option and deliver long-lasting Bluetooth decency at a price that leaves competitors reeling. I have found these to be so enjoyable that they have not left my head since buying them a week ago; my Beyer-Dynamic DT-990s sitting idle with resentment while I smile broadly beneath them!richtea123
20. Carl Martin Rock Bug Headphone Guitar Amp And Speaker Simulator
Product Details:
The carl martin rock bug is an amp/speaker simulator and headphone rehearsal unit that operates on a single 9v battery. although this type of accessory is not new, carl martin believes there is nothing on the market that feels as real or sounds as realistic as the rock bug! you simply get the feeling that you are playing through a good tube amp. just plug your guitar (with or without pedals) into the unbalanced ¼” input, plug your favourite headphones into the unbalanced ¼” output and off you go! adjust your instruments’ volume with the guitar knob, select an open cabinet or closed cabinet simulation with the mini-toggle switch, and wail away through the privacy of your headphones. if you like, use the aux stereo inputs and add an mp3, cd or dat player to the mix; adjust the master volume for your music, blend in your guitar sounds with the guitar volume, and either play along with your favourite cd’s or add a personal touch to your pre-recorded backing tracks. utilizing the balanced xlr output, you can connect your rock bug to a mixing console for recording, solo gigs accompanying the pre-recorded music with your live guitar, or as a di for live performance when you are packing light, or your amp goes down. you might not think an amp-speaker simulator is new, but with all these features, the rock bug is the little danish-swiss army knife that belongs in the pocket of every guitar-players gig-bag!

Reviews:
Just an update to my previous review:My previous comments apply to using the headphone output with a regular guitar cord into a PA's Hi-Z input. I can't speak to the effect of plugging an extenal sound source into the stereo aux inputs at the same time, as I don't intend to use that function. But this thing's simple design is even more brilliant than I thought. If you use the Balanced output with an XLR mic cable into a PA's Lo-Z input, the 'Master' knob is out of the circuit and it's absolutely dead quiet no matter where the 'Guitar' knob is set.(With all due respect to Winslo, an electric guitar does not produce any appreciable output in the 10-15kHz range, and in fact most guitar speakers only have measurable response up to about 8kHz; take a look at some of the frequency response graphs on Eminence's Website for example.)
The Rock Bug sounded like a very promising addition to my pedal board so I could stop dragging an amp back and forth to gigs. However, it was so noisy that the sound guy had to cut my 10-15kHz by -12db just to make it tolerable. This does not and can not replace an amp. You are better off getting a cheap combo amp with a direct out or invest 10 times more to get a full multi-effects modeling processor.Winzlo-CSa5U
