I have purchased some cheap headphones in my day. All of them were terrible. I have purchased soem expensive headphones as well, Pioneer, AKG, Sennheiser, and I promise you. THESE ARE BETTER. They have 50mm drivers that just pound. I have not tried using a headphone amp but for 50$ you can buy a tube amp that would make these headphones sound even better. They are comfy, and they come with two cords, that are re-moveable. A feature only offered on high end headphones. And the cable is SO NICE. It even has a bend protector on the cable. very nice! The sound is rich and full, sounds just as good or better than a pair of Beats. using these for Ableton and Serato. BUY THESE. I PROMISE they won't let you down.honestdealsusa

The headphones are good. The customer service is not. I received what I ordered which included a boom mic to be connected to and used with headphones. However, the cord on the boom mic does not fit into the port on the headphones. It is too small. Only one cord in the box fits and it is an extension cord with no volume or mute controls on it.

I have emailed back and forth with their CS, and all I get are replies for more information, which I had already provide in the previous emails. I was then asked for a video of the problem and even with that, I received a reply asking for more information. Extremely frustrating since they only have a foreign number to call.

Pros: I bought these to act as both handsfree for calls and also for listening to podcasts and music on my phone. The sound quality is great for the budget price, the handsfree is also good. The cushions are comfortable which is nice. Cons: Honestly, any improvements will push up product price and I suspect this headphone set, might struggle to compete for sound quality in a higher price bracket, with other headsets.Generally the headphones are pretty durable for what they are but perhaps slightly stronger headband? I'm a mid 30s male with an average sized head. I bought these for a cheap wired solution my desk set up. I couldn't be happier for $20. They sound good, fit comfortably and feel sturdy enough for being budget headphones. These are not noise canceling and they are not amazing compared to JBL or Bose. If you're after a decent budget headphone with a mic though, you could do infinitely worse than these for the money. I use them for music and video conferencing and have no issues with audio or others hearing me.coach_mcguirk

I bought these to replace my Skullcandy over-the-ear headphones, which are starting to fall apart but still sound great.

First, I should have realized that you get what you pay for. They were 40 dollar headphones on sale for 20. Okay. But as soon as I took them out of the box, they just felt really flimsy. Also, they are not over-the-ear. I tested them by plugging into my stereo system to play a 180 gram vinyl record. They sounded horrible! No treble, no fidelity, no depth at all…just muddy, cruddy bass. Blech! The sound reminded me of an old cassette tape that's been played 200 times. I listened for all of five seconds and put them back in the box. Luckily I have my receipt. I will be taking them back tomorrow.

Like I said, you get what you pay for. Still, I've had several pairs of 15 dollar JVC headphones, which are terrific. I've even had an older pair in the Sony MDR series that was good. I had read that the band adjusters for these headphones were very stiff and didn't extend enough to fit some users heads comfortably but I had neither of these problems and found them very comfortable to wear, with very soft enclosing earpads (and I have big ears!) The sound quality listening to music via bluetooth is great and latency seems low. Many reviewers have commented that these phones emphasise the bass, possibly slightly too much, but comparison with my older wired headphones actually seemed to give a little less bass than them, so who knows. They work well and are nice looking, I would recommend the OneOdio A70 headphones.jellyfishaudio

These are the perfect headphones for DJ'ing in a loud club. Crisp mids and highs but not over powering. Can listen for hours without fatigue. I wish they had a bit more low end but I suspect they saved the bass for the HDJ-X10's which were a bit above my price point. Either way these were great for the money.The BasS Addict

Though these sound pretty good, the hinges at the ear cups are garbage. These were purchased in July, and now the hinges are 3/4 cracked. Don't waste your money, unless you don't mind ending up with a pair of small, ear cup style speakers. Absolute junk.Anton

I've been looking for a new set of headphones for a very long time that can do what I need them to do… Which is to use as my primary monitors while drumming live and while recording in-studio. I play a Roland TD-50 kit, and the punch of the kick drum is very demanding on headphones. Very. I've been using Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones for years. However, they have never lasted more than a year and a half, before the dreaded kick drum rattle starts. I took a gamble and bought a set of these Pioneers, and let me tell you… They are FANTASTIC for monitoring my drums. Fantastic. They do have quite a bit of mid-range in them, and the bass isn't some super ultra rich, manufactured bass frequency. They give me that raw, punchy feel that I want when I'm playing, and these don't fail at higher volumes. Too much bass frequency actually drives me up the wall. These are accurate, they fit great, they sound awesome, and they can take what electronic drums dish out! I absolutely recommend these headphones. This has got to be the worst headphones ever. After a few weeks, one of the speaker always goes out. I have went through about 3 of these. Keep returning it because it keeps breaking down. Even for the cheap cost, it's still not worth the hassle.KState

I purchased these headphones for use at the gym and possibly occasional online game use. The JBL headphones quickly connected to Bluetooth on my Samsung tablet. I had to bring up a hidden menu the first time connected to my Moto G Power 2021 phone so make sure location is turned on to the Hidden Menus system app. After initial connection, it became easy to connect to Bluetooth through Bluetooth settings. The headphones sound really good for a lesser expensive set. They are easily adjusted for a comfortable fit on the ears. The head part is padded although you can feel it after they've been on awhile. I have not tried answering a phone call on these. I use them mostly for music. These sure beats those earphones that kept falling out of my ears. Most phone chargers will work for these. The charging cord doesn't fit very tight so make sure the charging light illuminates. If the light turns white, you are not connected to Bluetooth.geigi41fisherman

Maybe I just have a really big head-OR I just need to get used to headphones again? I’ve been using various earphones for years, mid to upper edge quality. I’m more or less bedridden right now, going through Chemo and I purchased these to wear to my almost daily appointments. Right now, a comfortable fit is even more important than sound-although it is WONDERFUL to hear such great quality and an even greater price! My only real issue is I can’t wear them more than about 15min at a time because my ears get sore and I develop a headache after 30 min or so. I’m hoping that with frequent use, I “break them in” so-to-speak; OR just become more comfortable with use. I’m not going to return them because I realize it WILL take more than a few days to get used to. If I still can’t tolerate them after a month or so of use…my beautiful eldest daughter has a smaller head! Early Christmas present for her and her wife! They sound so good though and I DO want try try and keep them for myself! Other than that; everything worked GREAT out of the box: charge time, play length, pairing, controls, volume, bass and treble, distance, etc. ONLY other issue is I have to either keep it out of my dear kitty’s reach OR watch her when I have them on to make sure she doesn’t try stealing them again. When the headphones get low on charge, they beep at their max volume with a high pitch. This is obnoxious and probably damages your ears. If you aren't wearing the headphones, you can clearly hear it from 10 feet away. It also pauses the playback of whatever you were listening for couple seconds during the beep, so you have to rewind. If you thought that was already bad, it does this every couple minutes for 10+ times until it finally runs out of power or is recharged. What were the engineers thinking??? One of the worst design choices ever made and needs to get fixed asap for next batch of the product. One beep is enough, it should be up to the listener is he/she wants to recharge or not. It definitely shouldn't pause the playback and the beep shouldn't be so loud that it hurts your ears.Ahonen

First off if you are looking for something simple and just to get a little edge on your terrible TV speakers this is a great buy. However if you are looking for an actual quality sound I say you should look elsewhere. The first thing I noticed is that this sound bar is very forward on dialogue and for that I actually like this. I feel like most full sound systems the dialogue is where it gets lost unless you really have the speakers quite loud. So for my living room TV where I usually watch sports, newscasts and Youtube videos this was a great addition. Also my TV speakers are quite terrible so this was a great way to introduce just a bit of extra sound throughout the hearing range. Next this speaker has all the great new features including bluetooth, wifi, chromecast, dolby surround and even Earc. With all this you even get auto room correction where the speaker will play some sounds and calibrate the sound to your room. I highly recommend that everyone that buys this speaker do that right away before listening to anything. As before I did the calibration my side speakers were extremely louder than the front. So if you were sitting off to the side you would get sharp loud sounds and just by walking around there was no blend between the speakers there were harsh lines where you could tell which speakers are playing. Lastly the sound for music or for just enjoyable listening there is much to be desired. The bass begins to clip very early in the volume range and lowering the bass does little to help this along. The mids are clear until you really start to push it and then they really lose quality and detail. However the highs are quite detailed and clear no matter how much you push the speaker. Lastly I am very happy to see that the quality is quite unchanged when changing inputs from wifi, bluetooth or HDMI. In the I would recommend this for anyone that needs an upgrade to their TV speakers, but if you are speakers are ok this speaker will not wow you in the least. As my OLED TV has a fairly similar sound quality and loudness. I will keep using this on my TV with bad speakers but will look for something else when it comes to my OLED.RussMaf101

I have tested this sound bar in the shop (with bluetooth and FLAC files) before buying online (and who doesn't…). Really amazed with the quality. I chose a bar without a sub-woofer as most of the time it will be TV broadcasts (and not 4k Netflix and such like) that will be listend to Therefore, a sub-woofer would be too much. Now the minus points: Pity it does not have an ext audio in (3.5mm jack). The HDMI in/out did not work for me despite trying several cables and configurations. There was no video out but I had sound. "Problem" solved by using an optical cable (PCM mode) from TV to soundbar. The Ethernet connection and using an app to play music I found very confusing and have abandoned it. Although here a plus point, when connected to ethernet, it does perform an automatic s/w upgrade. Once this is done, disconnect the ethernet as I didn't like the thought of others listening in for "command recogntion". The Alexa app only works if you have an Amazon account. – I don't. Suggestion for improvement for this product: * A small led or other subtle permanent indicator to show that the soundbar is actually on. * 3.5mm external input * A set of feet that raises the unit a 2 to 3 cm higher to allow it to sit in front of a TV that has sloping support feet. (The more modern TV's have flat feet designed for soundbars). I made my own and it looks part of the unit. Footnote: I bought this unit as a replacement for a Charge 3 speaker which had functioned as a "sound bar" for the last four years and gave good sound for such a speaker. I got to test this through Reviewclub, and I´ve had it for almost a week now. For a long time I´ve wanted to kiss our sub goodbye, because I hate that big box that just stands in the way. However I've hesitated, because well…can a soundbar without a sub do the job? The short answer to that is yes, with an asterisk *. Over to the longer answer… The soundbar was really easy to set up. The user manual has a design that even my grandmother would understand, so that's all good. No trouble connecting to Wifi either, but after having connected, an update started. This update takes a while, so be patient. At first I wasn't impressed with the sound, but after having run the calibration, and placing myself around 2 meters away from the soundbar, it sounded a lot different. I think it sounds best in surround-mode. I really like that there are so many options to connect wirelessly to the soundbar. There was no problem connecting to Google Home, and adding it as a speaker in our setup there. Airplay also works great. We don't have any products with Alexa, so I haven't tested that feature. If you're looking for bass that rocks your world, this isn't your best option, but if you want to upgrade your TV-sound, while also adding an extra speaker to your home, this is a great option. The design isn't the most attractive, but at the same time, it's pretty discreet. I would give the sound a 4/5 in the soundbar universe.Bluppsi

Purchased believing audio quality would surpass that of my current less expensive MDR-XB500 headphones However, sound quality is very similar to that experienced using MDR-XB500 model. I dislike giving unfavorable reviews but these headphones were a significant disappointment. I echo much of the reviewers in stating these headphones are muddy-sounding and lack mid and up clarity (IMHO). The lower-mids and below is muddy without clarity (though dominate). I got these headphones on a SDOTD to have reasonable closed-back headphones to listen to music while my partner has Web conferences in the same room (she insists on using speakers). These headphones do isolate reasonable-well. However the performance has gotten to me more and more. Putting on my very old Kenwood headphones from the early 80's is a breath of fresh air after listening to these. Note I am used to listening to open and semi-open back headphones so you may want to take this into account. I gave these three-stars which I think is generous. I know – picky picky! If the bass is too strong, just turn it down a little! It's really not that bad, but compared to my other headsets, it is a bit heavy in the mid to upper bass. I probably would have given it 4 1/2 stars if that were possible, but I like them enough that I didn't want to down-rate them. I bought these to replace an Audio-Technica ATH-M35 set that died, couldn't be repaired, and are no longer available. These are so similar that I wondered if they might have come from the same manufacturer. These are lightweight, comfortable when worn for long sessions, and overall have a clean, smooth sound, except for the slight rise in bass response. For a lightweight set they do fairly well at blocking ambient noise, and they cover the ears well. I would recommend against them for DJ or on-location mixing because of the lightweight construction, but for general listening or lighter-duty work, they work well.Bill

After doing some online research for best extra Bass headphones I came across Sony and going to it's webpage it showed this model after watching a few online videos futher review reading for this wired headphone set I made the purchase in March. With this Sony model it is very good for the price point under the price $100 price range. This why I give it 5 stars. They are not noise canceling but I don't care about that feature. I don't have a budget to pay over a $100 for headphones no matter how much better they might be with noise cancelling that I probably wwoun't notice anyway. The best thing about these headphones is not just the added Bass it produces but great sounds from all 3 sound ranges. Plus block out some outside noise like when a person is talking right at you. This headphone is good enough for an average music listener even for audiophiles that just like to hear extra Bass in Hi-FI. Not only are the sounds so perfect and natural in Bass the earcuffs and headband are all so comfortable you can wear these for long hours on end and your ears should never hurt. The headband is adjustable with the underneath padding at the top so a users head won't hurt either because they are also very lightweight. I have a V20 with a 32 bit QUAD DAC so that is why I chose these wired headphones over bluetooth. With my phone these headphones are just so good. For under $60.00 your not going fined a much better brand with extra bass. The matte black finish on the plastic earcuffs doesn't look so bad in aesthetics compared to previous version in shiny metal. I should mention the mic works great. It's perfect using this headphone set for talking on the phone for private converstations. I like the thickness of the cord so it won't tangle, break or stretch easily. TBH, most of the time when I listen to music, I'll grab whatever headphones are closest (given I already filter out some of the worst offenders as they come into the house). These are borderline for me since I listen to a pretty wide variety of stuff and when they really fall flat, it's noticeable enough to be disappointing, but if your favorite genres are top/bottom heavy or if you set your EQ to U-shape and jam, you'll really LOVE these. I bought them for a bit over $20 and would still be happy to own them if they cost twice that. Physically they are very light. The cable is unique – like a flat egg noodle pasta ribbon, does not seem to unplug from the 'cans'. The cups rotate to lay very flat but do not collapse into a tight package. Despite being light, the plastic feels strong/durable. I'd still normally carry them in a case, though. The headband doesn't pinch your head tightly. The cups are a flimsy thin plastic but they do a tremendous job of sealing out the sounds of the outside world. ** For anything under thirty dollars, these are a tremendous value. If you want normally want bump rap or techno or if you want to be in your own sonic world, these are a great choice even at a higher price.Adam D.

The quality of your headphones can make or break your listening experience. I have found several sets of wireless on-ear headphones in the past few years that I use on a regular basis and this pair from Sony has made the cut. I look at several factors when I test out headphones including battery life, comfort level, and listening experience with different types of media. From the moment I took these headphones out of their box, I knew they were something special and as I was to find, they will stand up against more premium brands with no problems. Battery Life: While I didn’t test out the full 30-hour claim for the headphone’s battery life, I did find them to have an above average lifespan. I had several long-length listening sessions with these headphones and didn’t have them die on me once. I love that they charge using USB-C instead of the ‘old standard’ of Micro USB. After several days of use (probably at least 2 hours of listening time each day), the battery is still at 50%. Comfort: Because of their light weight, these headphones are some of the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever worn. I was surprised at how easy they are to wear. The band is easily adjustable and it has ample padding in the headband. Even though the ear cups are ‘on-ear’ style, my ears never seemed to get overheated and sweat wasn’t a problem. The controls are easy to reach and the tactile buttons make operation simple. I do like that there is a separate button for the voice assistant. Music: I’ve listened to several different styles of music using these headphones and found that tracks sound rich and full. The ‘extra bass’ feature of these headphones is unmatched without a separate EQ. One of my favorite tests for straight music listening is to listen to Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. The revolutionary album has a lot of different sounds mixed into the tracks and a very pronounced heartbeat drives several parts of the album. This is where the extra bass feature really shines. I’ve listening to this album many times before and found it to be much more intense using the Sony headphones. I loved the stereo effects of the headphones in conjunction with this album. I also listened to my Pandora station that features 90s hip-hop music and thought it was remarkable how deep the bass was. As far as music goes, I think these are the headphones to have. Spoken Word: After listening to several different types of music, I switched to my podcast app to see how the headphones would fare against spoken word. Voices were clear and precise. It didn’t matter what timber the person’s voice had, the headphones made them sing. I really enjoyed listening to podcasts with these headphones just as much as — if not more than — music. For one thing, podcasts typically require a longer listening session than music. For example, one of the podcasts I listen to is one hour in length. So, the fact that these headphones are so comfortable makes spoken word pieces wonderful to listen to. Soundtrack/Mix: I’m a big nerd when it comes to movie soundtracks and audio editing/mixing. So, I always use a few movie clips to test out headphones. One of those clips is the intro sequence to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It’s a vibrant soundtrack/mix that includes spoken word, music, score, and of course, sound effects. While there were definitely some bright spots in the soundtrack, I have actually had a better listening experience from a different set of headphones. I would say these are a solid 7 out of 10 for watching a film with an advanced soundtrack. You’ll get a lot out of them, but not everything. . I do wish they features Active Noise Canceling, but I’ve been happy with the amount of noise isolation I get from my ears being covered by the ear cups. The exceptional battery life and comfort level paired with an above average sound quality make these a wonderful choice for their price point. I would recommend these to all types of users. These are the best headphones I've ever purchased, and the value for the price is truly remarkable. The sound is deep and rich, and the base does not overwhelm higher frequencies. The bass does not sound manufactured nor artificial at all. I agree with another reviewer that it's good to have an equalizer on your music player because the bass does not appear to be adjustable on the headphones and for some songs, you want to tone it down a bit. That's the only drawback I've seen to these headphones. The phone-answer button is simple to use and when in music mode functions as a track-forward feature on Android phones. The padding does an excellent job of reducing ambient noise, and as a bus commuter who likes to watch Pluralsight IT instructional videos on the way to work, that's quite important to me. I actually bought these headphones today to use in the gym and tested them out when I got home. The sound is amazing! Not to mention it works with my iPhone 5 just fine. I love the easy to use control button on the cord, conveniently located by your neck so you don't have to fumble with the cord to find it. You can use these headphones to listen to music, take or make calls and it worked fantastic when I was using FaceTime. I ended up needing to go with some on ear headphones instead of earbuds or around the ear headphones because my ears are so small and because whenever I use earbuds and I get sweaty at the gym they always fall out. Grandpa is hard of hearing so I got these for him with one of my orders with the intention of using them at night for tv instead of rattling windows when everyone is trying to sleep. He uses them with the iPad or the Roku remote and has no issues. They were cost effective and work perfectly for the purpose I needed them for. I am really surprised by the sound quality of these headphones, it is exceptional for the price. I am hearing things I have never heard before in songs with my other headphones and in-ear phones. Also while watching movies etc the speech is very clear. I suspect it has a very neutral or close to neutral frequency response – hence the audio sounds true to its source without much colouring/frequency enhancements. Perfect for me. I have already recommended these headphones to a few friends. Will definitely be buying more myself in the future. The build quality may not be stellar, but it is still very much worth a buy. The sound is flat, as a monitoring set these are not designed for music listening. Size of the ear muffs is good, I would consider these to be average and would fit most ears. This is a great product for the price. I do highly recommend buying these for listening to music & for recording. I highly doubt you will find a better pair of headphones in an electronics store for twice as much. However, I DO NOT recommend using these for mixing/mastering due to the lack of flatness in the sound quality. The bass is pretty intense for mixing/mastering in my opinion. I use several different pairs of headphones for mixing/mastering, just to get an overall 'feel' for the sound of the mix, so for that reason I don't regret buying these. Bottom line? Ordered these for an upcoming recording project. They don't fit real comfortably and become sweaty quickly. There isn't a lot of clean low end you'd expect from a headphone. I'm going to keep them to complete the recording project, my mates aren't too picky. The cables will be plenty long enough. I will be wearing different phones to better monitor the mix. On a side note….2 days after I ordered two of these, the two pack went on the sdotd on another site. If you need a cheap headphone…and see that deal….you might be okay. This is a great little unit. It adds zero noise to the mix, boosts each individual headphone with zero bleed to the other channels. Is tiny and portable. My only wish was that it could take battery as well as AC power, so I could use it either in places without access to power (like the park or the beach) as well as require one less (proprietary) plug to lug around. I have to say I was impressed with this little guy! I had it connected to my home studio in minutes. Sound quality is good…I have it running out of a Presonus AudioBox 44vsl. I set the phones output on my AudioBox between 1/4 & 1/2 (depending on project), and the phones sound perfect. No distortion, very clear sound! Pots feel pretty good….I encourage making sure the unit is secure, it is very lightweight and could easily fall off your console if a headphone pulled on it. I plan placing velcro on mine to lock it in place. No on/off switch, but not a big deal. I run a master switch that controls all my equipment in my studio. I had read many, many reviews on these and from what I read I was concerned that the call quality would not be on par with what I needed. I wanted to avoid a headset with a mic that extended out enough to take the chance on these. 1.) I am not an audiophile and I didn't purchase these for getting the cleanest, most perfect sound. 2.) I spend all day on calls and needed something that was comfortable and allowed me a break from my usual AirPods. Having them in-ear in all day was becoming a pain. 3.) I paid $39 for these headphones in black which were selling for $149 in the other colors. They are not the newest model but that shouldn't deter anyone from buying these – for what I paid they're an awesome value; at full price my tune might change, given the sheer number of options and features available in the $149 – $249 range. For (cost) comparison I bought my son Spiderman novelty headphones for $25 So far they sound great when listening to music, and anything else. Good bass without sounding muddy or overly bass-y. Phone calls were pretty straight forward and without any drama. No complaints about being inaudible. For any one who is concerned: the call quality to me as the listener, is at least as good if not better than what I get with my gen 2 AirPods and that's all I needed them to accomplish. They were a little uncomfortable the first day or 2, likely due to never really using this style headphone and/or just having big 'ole ears but they are much better now. Now I am even able to use them without pain while wearing eyeglasses. Build quality is solid, battery life is longer than most people could reasonably anticipate needing. They are not ANC, but they isolate background noise fairly well. These come in at less than 1/2 the cost of a comparable model with ANC. It wasn't needed or worth the extra money for my use case which is generally limited to office use or watching videos in bed. The equalizer is pretty helpful for tuning the sound to one's needs. Im sure other reviewers have mentioned about the sound, the sound is acceptable to me even though my favourite is still my wired in-ear phones from a Japanese brand that I used to work for. But that came at a price that could have bought 3 sets of this so I don’t really expect the sound to be equivalent The phones fit me really well and they also fit my kindergartner – im 5’3” and she is 3’10”. That said, I find the normal sized headphones too large and cumbersome so I’m very glad to find something my size (real kids headphones don’t fit me either). Now I can enjoy TV when my husband is working from home in the same room and I can walk around the whole apartment still hearing what goes on with the programme. Even though this has no ANC and I can hear running water when I wash dishes, I don’t hear anything from further than 6ft away with these on. The feature that has some issues is the multipoint connection. When I connect to both the TV and the phone, the tv sound crackles and skips quite a bit. With one device, the Bluetooth connection is very stable. Overall I love these!Wintersun

First off, im autistic. I got REALLY lucky and bought these on clearance from my local walmart for under $20 (box had a small hole and one side had to be taped shut, nothing else was wrong) and honestly? solid headphones. I use them for both HEAVY every day use (shopping, etc) and gaming (moving it to only every day use since they are now old and the side headphone pads are starting to wear out.) There is a default white noise that plays while they are on with no audio playing but it cuts off shortly after audio stops perfectly fine with me but i know some people may not like it. The turn on is EXTREMELY loud however, but if you can ignore that its pretty good. Sound is fairly crisp with decent enough bass and such for the full price. They dont cause me severe headaches. My only real complaint is that occasionally they will either only play audio in one ear (turn off/on fixes it), or cut audio entirely while im using it for pc (again, turning off/on fixes it, just a hassle to be in a match and have to stop, hide in a bush and hope nobody sees me while i disconnect them from my pc and fix it). Occasionally i do have to be careful which way my head tilts because now theyve stretched out to match my headshape and slide off if i learn my head back to far.Althrael

I got these at memorial day sale price of 100 at local best buy. I had got my son a half price sale model line noise canceling of JBL headphones at Christmas time that were really good, so I figured these at 35 buck more would really blow the doors off the entry model. Ultimately, not so much. They do sound great, and the app is decent so far with this set. I like the idea of washable muffs… although it is not as simple as the book shows it and I will wait to fully remove the until really needed as I fear harming them. I think the set my son has is great at the around 100 price point, I got them at 65 normally 130. Do think the clarity and EQ settings on this are better, but would not have considered at all if not on sail. These did great as I actually use them as I mow the yard and the cancellation is significant (of course you can still hear some mower, but sounds was clear and not cranked. I would agree max volume is not ear splitting, but loud enough as I had range to increase even on my mower. If you need louder than these, you are probably damaging you hearing, or driving with your head out a window, riding a motorcycle (with loud pipes and no helmet) or at a gun range. Do think at the regular 300 price there are several brands to look at that do as well or better, having some experience with different headsets over the years. Overall happy so far with these, but at this price range unless you get them on sale like I did, look around. Now to see durability.Wiseguy945

I'd like to meet the dope that put that giant bull's head button in the right ear cup and kick his butt. You cannot lay down with these things on because that stupid button gets pressed if you turn to the right and then the headphones announce loudly "Noise cancelling off!" and then a second later "Noise cancelling on!" then "Ambient aware!". I get it – these are meant for working out. But does it really need a button the size of a half-dollar coin? Sitting on a plane trying to sleep against the right window seat initiates a repeated chorus of noise cancelling alerts. Another complaint is the other controls. For $300 I expect separate volume, play, and skip buttons. Not this overpriced toy. There is one control that does everything and it sucks at doing everything. First it is positioned too far back – it's hard to reach. Second, the play and stop bit almost never works. Always ends up just increasing the volume. Third, to skip you have to press the volume button twice quickly and then it takes half an eternity to start the next track. And then there are the lights. You could work in a coalmine with the freaking light these things emit. Very bright (for goodness only knows why) white light shines from the front. Again, not good for laying down and listening and playing on your phone with 40 watts of white light glaring on it. Then there's the blue light on the bad which clearly meant to annoy your spouse as they sleep. Taped over the white light but the blue light is embedded in the On-Off switch. Best I could do was to color it with a black marker. The overall comfort is not too bad while standing or sitting. Simply dreadful laying down. The sound quality is excellent and the noise cancelling work great. For what I paid ($100 on sale) I can tolerate the bad bits but don't you even think about paying full price for these.DrOfdoom

This headset is loaded with features, most features hit close to 5 stars but not quite. Comfort: I have XXL size head (24"-24 1/2") and it fits me well – above average compared to others that Ive tried, Clamp force is high – just like any other ANC headset, it can start to hurt after few hours. 4 stars Sound: Quality is good, Its more focused on "live" immersion music setup (I have tried adjusting with EQ), it reminds me of Bose sound style of tune up, Im not the biggest fan of it because it lacks in very crisp highs and very deep lows, Max volume level not very high, I would say average at best. As Ive mentioned lacks in crisp highs and bass in general – if you try to increase those levels you will lose volume – its well known Bluetooth technology flaw. It does have fully featured app with custom EQ available. Overall sound quality feels premium but lacks in those areas Ive mentioned. 3.5 stars ANC: I would say its well above average and works quite well – I use it mostly at the gym and gives me plenty of isolation with higher volume. It has 2 different ANC settings. Bionic hearing for conversations also excellent and can be quickly turned on and off on the side of the headset. 5 stars Other features: Battery life is accurate and will last over 40 hours, Bluetooth range is on par with 5.0 version reach. Earcups are comfy and dries quickly – also washable. Dedicated app is excellent and covers all features and beyond. 5 stars I use them mostly for the gym and happy with them. Wish it had more volume and base, luckily ANC helps with isolation and higher volume is adequate. Things to consider: this headset may not work for you if you plan on using it for long sessions (work, study, gaming) – clamp force is high and will eventually start to bother you – also ears will warm up quite a bit. It may not be for you if you are avid music listener – sound quality is nice but lacks in volume and high/low range. For retail or slight discount price I would rate them 3.5 stars, for big discount that I have paid for them I will give it 4.25 stars.sizeXXL

I read numerous great reviews for these headphones and waited until they were back in stock to buy them. When I received them I was astonished at the thin little wires, cheap plastic construction, and bad sound quality. Sure, they are cheap, but they sound and look even cheaper. I only kept them as backup phones for if I need an extra pair while recording. They are certainly not good for evaluating music and look like they will come apart if handled very much. I do not recommend them.RICHARD

I have used Yamaha products for many years, including Organs and Home Theatre amps. I found these headphones to be excellent quality with good frequency response and tonal balance. As an aged person with certain hearing losses, the headphones compensate for those losses much more than I anticipated. Whatever your age these will add to your listening pleasure. The marantz MPH2 headphones are good utility headphones for monitoring in the studio. They are loud. They handle a lot of power without losing quality of sound. For a tracking situation I would recommend. Not so much for checking a mix or mixing. Probably good for a DJ too. Nice top end, almost bright compared to others. Very good low end and deep bass is represented properly. Compared to other headphones in this price range, the Marantz MPH2 are scooped in the midrange. Thats ok because they sound good and work well.bab-jame

There alright. I bought them to use with my electronic drum kit as my old headphones bit the bullet. They sounded alright but not as good as 70 USD. I started using them with my drum kit and it was going fine. Then they started making weird noises in the right ear with the low tones of the kick drum and the floor Tom. There would be a buzz and it would quiet down all the other sounds for a spit second in the right ear. Could have been my fault considering they were very loud but it shouldn't do that just because if the volume. And they felt like I could snap them in half really easily. I'd say they aren't worth their price, maybe 55-60 USDLuke

Bought this for my teenage son for Christmas. Worked fine for about 1 month. Then the connection at the insert stopped working. Sound would go in and out. If I held it sideways it would work okay, but eventually it stopped working – only parts of the music would come through – for example only the music (no vocals) would play at a low volume, even though volume setting was set to high; and the vocals would be muted out. I called Musicians Friend for a replacement, but the rep on the phone coldly explained that the headphones have a high rating and I was 2 weeks past the 45 day return period. She gave me a number for the manufacturer.B-Rad
