This guitar was designed to use these strings, so these are perfect.hiwattuser-half
I went up in price of product in the hope that the strings would be colour coded but more importantly, packed singly to make identifying the right string during a gig would be easier. Given the latest price hike, one tends to use the strings for longer and the risk of breaking one during a gig is higher. Guess I'll just have to use old packaging…hey ho.John V.
I dont really know if there are any pros??? to be honest with you, other than the price was fair. I feel like i fell for another marketing ploy .. there is really nothing any different from these strings than your basic Ernie ball's other than the EB"s come individually wrapped so i dont have to Mic each string.. cons… well the fact that you need to mic each string before putting them on kinda bummed me out.. lucky I have a mic and know how to use it… wonder if you do?ronshalita

I've used many strings over the yrs as most guitarists do. But I always go back to Ernie Ball. They are just simply the best quality and tone wise. I'm mad it took me so long to try these though. I love the slightly heavier bottom while still having the mid gauge on the highs that you normally get from the regular slinky set. They work great for standard tuning but work even better if you tune a half step down (my main tuning). Don't hesitate and get your pack or packs today. You won't be disappointed.Vince, T
Tried this string more for helping out with a slight string buzz on the low E. Thought a heavier low E would help out, which it did. That said, awesome sounds for thumping rhythm playing while leaving a standard 10s on the high end for note bending. Great balance when comparing 9-46 hybrid sets, which seemed more out of whack for me. Can't say yet for longevity but assume similar for Regular Slinky which benefit from a string cleaning after each use.Axel

Reviews:
These replaced the set of 10's that came on my 25.5 inch scale Hanson Firenze; Jazzmaster style offset with classic-wind Firebird-like blade pickups and a Bigsby. No setup changes were required when I dropped back to this lighter 9.5 set. I can't tell the difference in tone but my 64-year-old fingers aren't feeling nearly as much stress when I play. I liked the sound of the 10's compared to the 9's I was accustomed to but my fingers never quite adapted. These in-betweeners feel great and sound good too.Dave
I'm very surprised these strings aren't far more popular. I think it's because most guitarists don't think about in-between gauges. You get the easy playability of 9 gauge and the tuning stability of 10 gauge. They're not so stiff that ye lil finger tip gets all sore doing them bends and not so light that when ya get all into the groove and apply a tad too much pressure them notes start to sound a touch sharp. As for tone, these sound great! Not too bright. Not too dark. Just right. I play a lot in drop D using a Floyd and these are the perfect string. Not too stiff, not too light. Perfect for noodling around the fretboard. I mean, these are 5 bucks a set. Buy a set and check em' out. I'm sure as hell glad I did. As far as stuff getting on your hand as one reviewer stated, well uh, I think that's a dirty bridge and fretboard. Definitely not the strings. How would that even be possible??DanGoodShot
I am beyond gigging at 77 due to arthritis and Tennosynovitis, but these strings allow me to enjoy jams without sacrificing tone. Some necks also become "just right" when they are too limber for nines. If you're a "Tens" minimum guy, give them a try and give your fingers a break. Ernie Ball does it right !

I build guitars and buy these for setups period. I have tried to use these on one occasion just for kicks but found the tension all wrong. Not so much on the wound strings as the unwound upper strings. I found the tension and feel really poor. They seemed to be ridiculous to bend and if you managed that they felt like they were about ready to snap. I did not like the brittle tone either. The feel of these is just all wrong but they are cheap and fine to use for building but my guitars would never go out with these!Thump54
Musicians Gear strings are perfect for any player. If you get your strings for free because of an endorsement deal, you can claim a better value. I don't have that option = I pay for my strings. I change strings about once a month, sometimes more often, because NOTHING sounds as good as a new set of strings. But I can't afford big coins to keep fresh strings on them. These MGs are very affordable, they sound great, they play well, they are consistent, and I am very happy when I play with new strings. The new packaging helps stop rust and corrosion, so I usually buy in boxes of 10, just so I have some on hand.guitarpicker7
I use these strings all the time. Dont believe all the nonsense you read- they sound good, they last well and they are affordable. If you dont need to pay double or triple for hype, buy these strings. The best sounding strings in the world are new strings. Buy a stack of these and change them whenever you need to. The more you play, the more often you will need to change them. Even a cheap guitar will sound good with new strings. And the most expensive guitar will sound bad with old strings. I love them.reynardfoxe

Recommended by a friend. The action on them is great. Great tone. Love the way that they sound and feel. Have tried many other types of strings and these are by far the best ones I have used. I will use these from now on. I am still learning how to play and these strings are make it easier.Chris
Hey you music hounds out there! Give Guitar Center a shot at setting you up with some gear! I also asked if they traded used pedals towards a new pedal and, yes I walked out with a new distortion pedal!! Strings are the lowest around town and in stock. These 3250 nickel plated steel wound fender strings really sound good with the bullet ends (more surface touching the tremolo) and steel is stronger and less likely to break on a large bend and the sound is a little stronger on the pickup I've been playing 30 plus years and tried many string types and this is what I buy!!! I like regular gauge .10-.46 but the choice is yours =JamMan= play till I drop……
The reason I tried these strings (3150R) was because i bought a Telecaster (Baja) in 2007. I read about fret wear being less because it matches the alloy in the frets of new Fender guitars, in comparison to steel strings. Therefore there is the hope it offers less wear and tear on the frets. I had also had problems with the Telecaster 'icepick' sound on the bridge pickup. These strings softened the icepick sound I was getting with steel strings. They last for up to 4-6 months. I think the Tele and nickel string combo is a winner for me. My attitude towards Fender strings changed after this, so I tried the bullets on my Strats. Guess what they were even better with tremelo dives and resistance to detuning. But I thought the pure nickel really affected the sound I got. I like the biting sound from steel strings (GHS Boomers, 10-46) on both a 1970 Stratocaster and a Lace sensor stock equipped 1990 Strat Ultra, so I choose the nickel-plated (3250R) steel strings. Pure joy of sound from both. I had to get a refret on the '70 Strat in 2010, so it was a good move to use these strings to avoid fret wear.

Reviews:
Definitely the best strings at the price point lately. They have a thinner or smoother wind than Ernie Ball slinkys or Daddarrio exl and this results in less finger noise and a zingier tone IMO. I'm into clean and classic rock, and I doubt you would like these over the former two names if you were into more modern and metal sounds. It depends on the guitar for me, on my strat I could use just about any strings. My guitars with humbuckers seem more picky, at least to my ears. I prefer these over the other two as far as cheap strings go, and these are often cheaper. Win win. Used to be I would never have preferred Fender strings so either my tastes are changing or these strings have changed over the years.Joelish
Overall: Don't pay any attention to the low price these are great strings. Have used Fender 7250's on all kinds of bass guitars they always sound great and feel good. Years of use have proved quality. I put them on my Jazz bass, my PJ, and my Squire, have used them on Samick, Music man, OLP, and Epiphone basses, all good.Scott
According to a Fender rep, these are what came on the Fender PJ bass I ordered from Musician's Friend. They produce the classic Fender tone I wanted. I eventually replaced them with a set of Fender 7250L (.040, .060, .080, .100) to make it easier to play on the guitar's 9.5" fingerboard radius. I stayed with Fender because of the tone that the 7250M strings produce. The Light's have slightly less oomph on the low end, yet all the tone while the lighter gauge makes for nice melodic work on the high end of things. If you have a Fender bass and want Fender tone…Vice

Reviews:
I have used Ernie Ball Slinkys since I started playing guitar (time that can be measured in decades, that's all I say). I have been through other top brands, and just don't like them. I have gotten to know EB strings to the point where I can nearly predict when they'll break. That's good in my book. The lively tone and intonation stays for a LONG time. And they're good enough to scrape clean and, in the word of Billy Idol, Start Again. Well, that beats boiling them (RIP EVH). What's even better is all these new, attractive hybrid sets, allowing you to easily find your groove without having to get two packs for your ideal set! EB just keeps getting better.Guy lll

Reviews:
These strings are okay for the price, but I've had several problems with them. 1) This is not a sealed pack, so when I bought it the .010 had rusty patches right out of the pack and maybe the .013 too. They're in individual folded paper sleeves all together in an open-air fold-over plastic sheath. 2) They're NOT for your standard extended-range/long scale 8-string. Short scale guitars only. These fit my 25.5" guitar nicely, but when I tried putting these on my Agile Interceptor 30" scale guitar, they were probably 5"+ too short. Didn't even reach the nut, much less the peg (partly because it's a string-through, tune-o-matic, long scale, and reverse-inline, so lots of extra string is needed. Also, on the paper sleeve, it tells you that it's a 30" taper, which means that the string gets narrow after 30" to fit through the tuning peg. On many extended-rang/long scale guitars, the taper will begin before the nut, which you do NOT want. You want the string to be the same diameter along the entire vibrating length. 3) The tension balance is all out of whack. The gauges are okay on the last 6 strings for 25.5" scale. A little too tight from the .054 down (I can imagine on your typical long-scale 8-string they'd be way too tight), but I drop-tune the low strings to E and A, and the .074 is totally floppy and smacking the frets and the 0.64 could definitely be thicker. The Kev
I wrote a review earlier about these strings, but I have definitely changed my mind. I do have an eight string, and I used these for it and wow…they were not very good. The most obvious thing was the .74 string gets smaller WAY before the tuners, even for my seven string. So playing the first fret feels extremely awkward. Second, palm muting on these things sounds hideously dirty compared my old strings or even the stock strings. I also have to agree that a .54 for the E string is very ridiculous. The only thing I'd recommend these for is softer playing or if you never play chords. Otherwise, get the D'Addario or any other 8-string set.Brian Dice
Ernie Ball completely failed on this one! Ernie Ball is my usual brand of string, but whoever put this set together knows absoultely nothing about string tension or 8 string guitars. 8 string guitars are extended scale instruments from 27-30", so why are they putting a .054 for the E and a .064 on the B? In their 7 string sets they put a .052 or .056 on their low B, and that's for a normal 25.5" scale. Do you see any logic in this? Then they put a .074 on the 8th string. It's actually a good choice for the 8th string tension-wise (if the rest of the strings were balanced), but it has WAY too little tension compared to the low E and B. Compared to the other incredibly heavy strings in the pack it makes no sense. If you want a nice, balanced set look into LaBella Crazy 8's, or just buy a 7 string set and add on the appropriate 8th string.

Reviews:
I really like these strings. They are warm, and give what I believe to be the best tone on my Stratocaster's and Telecaster. I don't really remember when I first started using Pure Nickel strings (of any brand), but I DO know I have never used anything but Pure Nickel since. The strings got a 4 star rating. I purposely omitted 1 star because, I feel they don't last as long as say a Nickel wound D'Addario would…but then again, I have not found a Pure Nickel D'Addario set of strings. So I forfeit the longevity for the tone. I DID just today order some Fender 150M (medium gauge 11's)…which are also Pure Nickel. I would never order 10 sets of strings if I didn't like them. Once I get to play the 11's, I will give a review on that product page. As far as Fender Pure Nickel strings go…you can't go wrong on the tonal quality. Rock on!!!White Dog
For years I've played flatwound strings, but when I bought my new Fender American Professional Jaguar I was taken by how lively and expressive the strings were! I left them on. There was a learning curve, with me having to learn a lighter touch, but the more I played them the more I liked them, I went on the Fender website, clicked on the "Chat with us" button, and asked what set came on the Jaguar. It was this set – the Fender 250L Super 250 Nickel-Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings. VERY musical, VERY expressive! I play jazz-inflected folk, fingerstyle or various flatpicks, including Fender 351 Thins and Dunlop 204s. There's a reason Fender puts these on their guitars!RubyTuba
BUY THESE ! I hadn't used Fender strings for 30 years . A friend of mine bought out a music store so to liquidate he sold me all the strings and drum sticks in stock .. there were mostly Fender strings so I started using them . 20 packs of 9's lasted me well over a year . I work at least 3 night a week as a lead guitarists / vocalist . so I use my main Strat a lot . after I ran out of Fender's I used GHS and noticed I was breaking strings .. so I tried the Ernie Ball's .. breaking strings again ! I went to a local music store and bought a pack of Fender's . as an experiment I wasted to see how long before one would break . SIX WEEKS ! .. THEY LASTED 6 WEEKS ! .. That's 18 gigs , 3 hours pr night for a month and a half every Thursday Friday and Saturday . and they still sounded good ! FENDER RULES !horsesass123

Reviews:
Bought these strings cause I have been using Dunlop 10's for a few years now and wanted to try out a set of 7's. They do sound a little brighter to me then 10's as one would expect but they still have great tone. I can see why someone with a problem like arthritis should use these strings, fingering a cord is effortless and bends a just ridiculous. I could bend up 2 whole steps without a problem. If you use these you have to be a very light player. When I swapped out the 10's on my Les Paul for these I was thinking I could lower the action a bit but as it turns out if I played as hard as I did before I would get al kinds of buzzing. I would guess this is cause there is less tension on the strings which would allow the range they move to be more then a higher gauge string. I gave these 5 stars cause they are great strings, have great tone, I never broke a string in the time I used them and they stayed in tune. That being said I have since gone to 9's. As I said there not for everyone. I would recommend them to a friend but only if they were looking for the qualities that I found these strings to have.Shot
I've been using 7's for the past several years on my Epiphone SG's (with Gibson '57 humbuckers), and although they make the sound understandably a bit thin or tinny, you can make up for this a little bit depending on the amp you have. Even so, the better feel is what I was really after, and these have come through every time in that respect. My hands don't cramp up or anything, and I can do string bends with total ease. Previously I had used 8's, which I think were Ernie Ball, but noticed a better difference in feel and playability when I switched to these 7's (by the way, I use .46 Dunlop picks and have for many years). From the reviews I've read on these the past few years, a lot of people like these 7's like I do, so I hope Dunlop doesn't stop making them anytime soon. Their price is very reasonable too. I will say, however, that I've had a few issues at times with the high B & E strings popping out of the bridge saddle and, in the case of the high E, even getting snagged on the bottom edge of a fret or two, but this could've been the condition of the guitar too, plus my SG's are tuned a 1/2 step down from standard pitch, so the strings are even slinkier than they would be otherwise. Also, I've very rarely ever broken one of these 7's (if I ever have), but nonetheless there's an increased risk, surely, of that happening due to their thinness. Still, all things considered, I like these strings and will continue to use them when possible.Rick
These strings feel like clothes hangers. Hard and stiff and non responsive. They do not stay in tune after stretching. I feel bad to review this product poorly. I have always played Dean Markley Blue Steels forever…. trying these makes me understand why I would never change what works. ZZ Tops sound is amazing and how Billy G gets there is all his own… just would never work for me. All the Dunlop strings feel stiff and hard to the fingertips…. sorry… not sorrylongwhip

These are not bright strings, the sound is somewhat dull – not so much you can't boost highs and adjust mids to compensate enough for most purposes, but these will never sound great for anything that needs to pop with bright presence. I am forced to keep a 5 string tuned down a whole step for one of the bands I regularly work with and this is the only game in town. You will need to re adjust your bridge because your intonation will change with these strings on and it may be enough to make solos and high passages sound a but wonky. If you have to keep a rigged tuned down, these are what you need but they put an awful strain on the neck if you try to pull them up to standard pitch – use for lower tunings ONLY.Doug
In the interest of full disclosure, I am a DR endorsing artist. But I chose to endorse them because I truly believe they make the best strings I've ever used. At the same time, I realize that you have to have the right strings for the right bass, and your playing style and type of music you play also determine to a large extent which strings are right for you. I've tried almost every string they make, and they're all great, but not all perfect for every situation. These are definitely the right strings for me, though. I currently play a Lakland 55-60 with a maple fretboard. I used to swear by the Marcus Miller Fat Beams. But then DR sent me a set of these DDT's to try, and I was blown away! The MM strings are great, but these are much more to my liking for what I'm doing right now. I play in a modern country band and I never down-tune. But the tension, stability, and sustain of these strings are phenomenal. They also give my jazz bass a hotter output, probably due to the density of the strings. If you like tight, stiffer strings that will sustain for days and sound big and fat, give them a try! I'm giving quality an 9 because the build and overall quality is great, but they didn't last as long as I'd like. Unlike some strings that can lose tone over time, though, these pretty much sounded awesome for about a month (of playing 4 nights/wk) and then all of a sudden just didn't sound good anymore. Personally, I'd prefer it that way, rather than have strings that sound a little worse day after day. But I wish I could have gotten more use out of them. When you find the right string, you have to have it. And these are a great value. And they're cheaper than the Marcus Miller strings that I also loved, so bonus! : )
i've been using these strings for almost 2 years for hard/heavy rock. on a 36" scale 5-string the 135's feel great, and stay nice and tight at Eb or D tunings. at standard E tuning they are extremely tight. i've taken them down to C tuning, which puts the low B all the way down to seriously subterranean G, and that's about where they start to get floppy on a 36" scale bass. i would describe their tone as being loud and punchy, which suits loud, heavy music very well. as for longevity, i'm getting a solid month out of them at 10 hours per week of fairly vigorous playing. i kept the last set on to to see how long they'd go for. after 3 months they're starting to loose temper, and need to be replaced… but that's after a lot of playing.Wesley

Overall: These DRs are a pleasure to play, very nice sound whether his or lows. And their price is very competitive and that is what makes them special. Buy a pair to see what the bragging is all about. I don't know how long they'll last but my first set are well over a month old and still sounding super. Way to go!!!Glenn
I had dead strings on a guitar I bought new! I had tried the drop tuning strings from Dr and liked them. So I thought I would give these a try! Only thing I don't like is how the strings are packaged! Wish they were separate, not mixed with other sizes in the same envelope! But overall these sound great!Spike

15. Dean Markley 2557 Drop Tune Blue Steel Electric Guitar Strings
Product Details:
That's right, this is the one everyone's been talking about. it's simply amazing what a little -320 degrees liquid nitrogen can do to a guitar string. if i were you, i'd put on a set and see what all the noise is about. twice the tone and twice the life. blue steel strings are the world's first and finest cryogenic-processed strings. blue steel strings are a total breakthrough in string technology. starting with the very finest quality materials, blue steel strings are frozen to minus 320 degrees fahrenheit, held there for an exact period of time and then slowly and carefully brought back to their original temperature. this unique cryogenic treatment realigns the molecular structure of the string, giving blue steel more highs and lows, a longer life, and greater ability to stay in tune. blue steel strings are available for acoustic, electric, and electric bass guitars, and come in all popular gauges.

I was excited to try out the Blue Steel acoustic guitar strings. I got them in the mail and strung up my guitar with much anticipation. They were good at first, but after only about 20 minutes, my hands smelled like cheap metal, and the tone had already dulled. These strings made my high quality guitar sound like a tinny, cheap First Act Guitar. I would not recommend these strings to anyone. However, I would highly recommended Elixer nanowebs or polywebs. They are a far superior string. They are worth the extra price and will make any guitar sound great.Paul B.
Played guitar for 9 years. Have always picked and fretted with excessive force. My hands sweat and ruin strings. I've tried many strings, Elixrs were the best but too expensive, DR, D'addario, Ernie Ball, RotoSound….nothing felt like home. Somebody told me about these strings, I bought two packs of 12s and fell in love. Unlike the coated strings (Elixr) these are super-cooled so that the molecules lock together tighter. They stay in tune better than any strings I've played. These strings can take a beating. The tone is great for 4 or 5 weeks and it still sounds decent 2-3 months later. They are cheaper than most strings so you're crazy not to try them.TheCapitols
I've been using these strings for years. I love a wound 3rd string. They last up to a month for me where other brands only lasted a week tops. I just bought a new Les Paul with a Bigsby. It came with 9s on it and the intonation was way off. I had a set of 9s by EB and put them on to see what would happen. After a couple of days I could see it wasn't going to work out so I replaced them with a set of these 11s and the guitar locked right in tune.OleJazzer

First off, I am the biggest Van Halen fan you'll ever find and have nothing but respect for the Brown Sound. That said, you won't find it in these strings. They're awful. They're constantly at odds with my Floyd Rose and I've yet to keep them all in tune without the Low E flopping all over the fretboard. And the strings that do stay in tune produce a tinny, whiny sound through the same settings that were cranking out near-Van Halen tone from Ernie Balls. This is my first experience with the EVH equipment line and I must say I'm not impressed. The only connection to Van Halen I see here is that only Eddie himself could make these things sound good.Lee
If and when you find these for a reasonable price BUY THEM!! Since Eddy died anything with his name on it skyrockets in price. I don't play as often as I'd like, but when I do I play hard. These strings are some of very few that stay in tune, don't corrode or flatten out on the fret side. ALL strings should be thoroughly wiped down after use. GHS Fast fret is a great choice, rubbing alcohol followed by mineral oil is another.blue-mike
17. Fender Super Bullet 3250m Medium Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings
Product Details:
Combine the high output and dynamic sound of steel with the smooth feel of nickel. our signature super bullets are perfect strings for rock and other kinds of music requiring cutting guitar. best of all, the patented bullet end creates a sonic coupling between the string and the bridge block, offering rock-solid tuning stability and increased sustain. fender introduced its bullet-end electric guitar strings circa 1974 under the name “super bullets.” the new string-end design was especially well suited to stratocaster guitars because the bullet ends fit far more precisely into the tremolo block, closely fitting the circumference of the string channel, and they slipped out easily when changing strings. they were available in pure nickel and nickel-plated steel versions for electric guitar and bronze-wound for acoustic guitars. although super bullets electric strings could be used on many different guitars, they were especially popular with stratocaster players. super bullets existed largely unchanged until the early 1990s, when fender switched from zinc-plated steel to brass for the bullet ends. brass had the additional advantage of imparting improved sustain. by the mid-1990s, fender was offering pure-nickel bullet-end strings dubbed “bullets,” nickel-plated steel bullet-end strings dubbed “super bullets, and bullet-end acoustic strings in bronze and phosphor bronze versions. bullet-end stainless steel strings appeared in the late 1990s. today, fender continues to offer its classic bullet-end electric guitar strings in the strong, slender forms of its pure-nickel 3150 original bullets, which are ideal for vintage-style tone, and nickel-plated steel 3250 super bullets, which offer characteristic tonal power and durability.

I have tried a multitude of various strings. These DR strings are great. I have the Multi color; Yellow; Orange; Green and the Black Beauty ones. They perform great on my Gibsons; Epiphones and Ovation guitars. I use them on acoustic; acoustic electric and semi-solid guitars – all with equal positive results.Mr B t
I bought these strings for fun just to see how it would look on my guitar. I expected these strings not to be high quality but, wow, these strings are just HORRIBLE! I strung up my guitar and in less than 15 minutes of moderate playing (I estimate about 30% of) the coating of the unwound strings flaked off onto my guitar. Not only does this look bad but, more importantly, seriously diminishes playability. My fingers then slide over rough, flaking strings. Ouch! Cute idea…terrible execution! Cute idea. Looks nice….(before playing). I strung up my guitar and in less than 15 minutes of moderate playing (I estimate about 30% of) the coating of the unwound strings flaked off onto my guitar. Not only does this look bad but, more importantly, seriously diminishes playability. My fingers then slide over rough, flaking strings. Ouch! Value, with any product, is relative to quality. At $12 a set the value is not good. Even if they were $2 a set it would not be a good value because of the poor quality. I have purchased other string sets for as low as $4 that were much better.
These are excellent strings. I bought them for my son, who loves them. They stay in tune well. He likes their feel, they feel like the Elixir strings he used before. They seem to last well, he's had then on his Schecter about 3 weeks and they feel and look good and hold their tuning well. And did I mention they look really good under black light?Richard

I had been using 0.13 baritone strings on a 25.5 scale Ibanez 6 string and never could get it to intonate well if I went lower than b standard. With these strings I can get it to Ab standard or Drop F# while still maintaining an almost perfect intonation. Plain steel 3rd isn't my Forte, but it works.Barry Baritone
I got these strings hoping to tune to Dropped-C or Dropped-C#. They get tight at Dropped-B. If you plan on using them for Dropped-A (anything lower than that is just ridiculous), Dropped-Ab, or Dropped-B, these are good for that. The lowest string tends to sharpen when played on the frets higher than the 7th though. Otherwise they're fine, and it takes FOREVER for any of the strings to die. I've had them for 4 months and they still play just as well as they did when I got them. The sound is great… just get them if you plan to tune really REALLY low.
these sound incredible at the B and A range. Particularly A because they are so thick. I dont play in F but they still hold tune and tension amazingly. They sound sharp and are very lively strings. Im going to try the 10-60 next week. the 65 gauge is a little to big for versatility. I plan on buying a third guitar and that will have these strings designated to it.Reza

I've been playing for a long time. You can pay whatever you like for strings and I have always looking for that Holy Grail set of strings. Some last a bit longer. Some other strings also sound good but these just have that sound and feel for me. I play a lot and properly wiped down after playing these strings last a good long time for me but I wouldn't care if I changed sets two to one against DR's or anyone else's string. Two sets of these are no more expensive than DR's and DR's wish they sounded and played like these. Personally I think these last as long as DR's at half the price and I have NEVER had a problem or inconstancy with these strings. I cannot say the same for GHS, DR's, Rotosounds or others. It's just a great set of bass strings for a more than reasonable price!Thump 54
This is the only set of strings I have used where the low B has the same piano string clarity as the rest of the strings, and keeps its timbre for around 3 months average use!. Most 5 string packs (even Sadowsky) low B start off "just OK" and rapidly develop undesirable atonal harmonics, and after 30 days sounds like a detuned E from a Hofner hollow bass from a 60's beatles recording (yuuuuuuuk!). Highly recommend.Black B. B. M.
Before playing bass I always used Ernie Ball on my guitars, both electric and acoustic. I own a Gibson Les Paul (wired like Peter Green) Fender Strat, Fender Tele and a Dean Boca 12 String. I also own 2odd name acoustics along with a Fender Jazz, Epiphone Viola bass and a G&L JB 2 Tribute. I have never used EB strings on a bass. Since I needed to replace the strings on my G&L I decided to try the EB bass string and I'm sure glad I did. Easy to play great tone and the price is hard to beat. I will always use EB on my G&L and will consider them on my Fender Jazz if they have flat wounds. I won't on the Epiphone viola has I only use black nylon wrapped flat wounds on it (the way Paul did during the LET IT BE days). If you want bass strings that sound great and are so easy to play, get these stringsNever Too Many Guitars
