I had some old speakers from a bar. They needed to be reconed. For about the same cost as a reconing kit, I purchased two Celestion Pulse speakers. Unlike the bar speakers, these are intended for bass guitar. I put together a Baltic Birch speaker box and mounted them. So far they work. Little undue resonance. Good heavy magnets on these speakers.Daniel

Reviews:
I've been through many, many 12s for Blackface style speakers. These are my faves. For good 60s tones in country and rock with a BF amp these guys work great. Take pedals well. Not shrill or muddy in my experience. Solid surfy bass. Smooth treble. 120 watts which is triple what I would ever throw at em. For a Deluxe or a Pro in a honkytonk bar, these are just the ticket.edol9871
For me the tones of these are somewhere in between American and British. I use these mainly in a 2×10 cab for a fender vibroverb style amp. Vs the Oxford speakers these have a lil more mid focus and rounded highs that work much better with higher gain tones. I also use these with my Marshall origin 50 set relatively clean to get a slightly bigger bottom end than V30s.RockinJohnson
I bought this speaker in the 16ohm version to replace a v30 in my orange ppc1x12. I love the v30 but I mainly use a 100w Marshall DSL100HR and the v30 by itself couldn't handle all that wattage since it's only 60watts. So I decided to go with the swamp thang cause a little more defined low end sounded like a good idea as I play a 7 string ltd (fishman fluence pups) half the time. But I was worried I would loose the highs that we need for attack in high gain situations as well as playing clean which I do very often also. But now that I've played tgrough this speaker I can say that is not a problem whatsoever. This speaker has twice the highs and twice the lows as my v30. Probably a little less midrange but since it's such a powerful speaker it doesn't feel like it's relying on mids the cut through. Full disclosure I've only had the speaker a few hours and played through it a little over an hour but if it sounds this good outta the box I'm confident things will only get better. It's a great sounding speaker in my opinion that would complement any style/set up. I plan on buying an empty Luke 2x12C cab from seismic audio soon so i can pair the ST and the v30 which im lookong forward to. But in the meantime im in no huge hurry since the ST sounds so good by itself.Michael I.

Reviews:
I wanted to try my hand at building my own bass cab to complement my amp head and because I wanted a quality sound I decided to go with Eminence, since you can find them in a lot of high end bass cabs like Ampeg and Basson. I didn't buy these at first, I bought the B102's instead and was disappointed with the end product. There wasn't enough clean low-end, and, I tuned the cab too low to compensate for that and it was a muddy tone that came out of an expensive set of speakers. So a year later I tried it again, but, I bought these on sale (BP 102's) and also bought the Eminence compression driver; Horn; Cabinet ready crossover. I now have a 210 bass cab that sounds better than any cab I've ever heard. I recently purchased a new bass amp (Markbass Big Bang) and together they are a match made in BASS HEAVEN. In fact without the purchase of the new amp, I may have never written this review, I've had theses speakers for over 2 yrs. So if you need to replace a 10" driver or you want to custom build a cab, this is the best driver for the money you can buy. But remember, without a tweeter or compression driver you'll be disappointed.Jmac
Searching for something better in my current upgraded ESS AMT3's, I took a change on these after modeling them in BassBoxPro. All I can say is wow!! These speakers totally kick some tail. Clean deep, and don't loose their composure under high volumes. However the biggest thing is detail. What better to produce bass guitar/drums like a live performance then a real bass guitar speaker?!?! Luckily these go lower then most, pretty amazing for the price. I have 2 of these in the AMT3 stock, but braced enclosure. 2.76 liter. Heavily damped with 1 1/2" foam on walls, and 2 sheets of Auralux 2" wedge foam directly behind the woofers. 2x 3" ports, 6" length. That tunes the box to 36 hz. Don't be afraid to tune low, the lower the better. They still can handle a ton of power, xlimit is 10 mm. Never cam close because the bass is tight, clean and deep. Well controlled, but oh so sensitive!! Wow the detail of these woofers just blows my mind!! Nothing even comes close in normal "audio" woofers. Be aware however to cross over to the mid around 250hz, these don't do mids well. But who cares in a 3-way? A Alpha 6A, or larger mid woofer would be ideal. Enjoy while these are still a still!! Who needs expensive audio woofers that kill all the detail anyway?Mojo
I replaced the dead speaker in my old practice bass amp with this speaker and was quite surprised how good it sounded and was surprised that it was better than the original in sound quality. gave new life to that old amp and saved me the cost of new amp. Good solid output in a sealed cabinet down to the low E on my 4 string fender bass.hotshoetom

I have a Rumble 1 x 15 cabinet. I wanted to upgrade from the Eminence-Made for Fender speaker. At the advise of an Eminence Tech I purchased the CB158. It sounds great! Clear deep tones I plan on buying a second Rumble 1 x 15 cabinet and I'll upgrade that one also! The sale price made it a great value!Chuck
You can experience quite a bit of satisfaction when a product you paid a fair amount of money for just plain works. And boy does this speaker work. The solid bass tones that come out of this baby has brought my 80s something Fender Bassman Compact back to life. I was happy all the bolt holes lined up with the pre drilled holes of the amp. The only little drawback is that it has made my amp heavier. Not a bad trade off for the quality sound that this speaker delivers.Darren
I refurbished an Ampeg 115hp bass cabinet and installed a CB158 15". The speaker provides tremendous frequency response, tight solid bottom end with crisp clean highs. I no longer use the horn in the cabinet…there is no need. I highly recommend this speaker to get the most out of a bass rig. It also pairs very well with my Ampeg PF210HE.Francis L

Reviews:
From what I have heard, these are absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, every time I go to order a pair of these…They are out of stock. When I contacted the company, I was informed that these are barely made because they are not popular….I find that a little hard to believe because every time they wind back up on the shelf…they're gone within a week or two! I would love to exclusively use Seismic Audio amplifiers!!
I actually found these used at my local GC, and since I had been playing through my friend's 2×15 cab for over a year, I knew I had to have them! I was afraid of losing a little of the low end by going to a 1×15, but surprisingly there's still plenty there (probably too much before?). The 2×10 adds just the right brightness and punch. I couldn't ask for a better setup. Yes, I now have to make two trips to carry them in, but it is two easy trips instead of one heavy and hard to handle trip with the 2×15. I play in a rock 'n roll cover band, playing everything from Bryan Adams to White Zombie, and Franz Ferdinand to Led Zeppelin, with some Iron Maiden and Queensryche thrown in. These cabs keep up with all of it! I play through a 200w SWR Workingman's 2004 amp head and have plenty of headroom no matter what venue we are playing. I definitely recommend this combo!Kyle D.
Ive purchased this bass cab and paired it with a trace eliot elf bass amp and Allen Eden jazz bass v…….the sound is flawless. It cuts right though the mix and I get alot of compliments from band members and the sound guy while playing at church. It's not too heavy and fits great inside my lil 4 door sedan while traveling to different gigs and churches. I feel like this cab is very sturdy and reliable, I would describe the sound to gk swr and aguilar cabs.

Reviews:
So far I'm impressed with the sound and weight reduction over the Bugera 10" they replaced. If they can stand up to 450 watts for the foreseeable future, I'll add the fifth star. My only reservation was the price but if they are a rugged as I hope they are, they'll be the right investment. Total weight savings for 2 10"- 10 pounds.JAMES
Went three stars on the features because its a driver only. Five string bass running through 1×10 combo from Line6. This driver much better than factory installed. Everything below B1 was total mud before. This Celestion has all the definition i want. Can play C#1 fifths and no distortion or mud just rich low end. Wonder what four in a 4×10 would sound like? Probably cause a tidal wave. Maybe price should be $120? With free shipping I don't care.Guest

Reviews:
I called Peavey, have been using their equipment for years, PA's , Basses, Bass amps and guitar amps and have always been satisfied. This is the worst sounding bass cabinet I have ever used. When I spoke to them, they said that I am the only one that has complained. i have a 4 x10" TXF cabinet which sounds great and wanted to get 2 sets of 2 x 10" for easier transport.I swapped speakers between the cabinets and the TXF cabinet sounded great with either set, the Headliner 210 sucked with either speaker. I did some internal measurements of the 210's and used speaker cabinet software and the 210's do not meet any specifications for a 2 x 10" speaker cabinet. bought them online and cost too much to return them. sold 1 set of them for a substantial loss and still can't get rid of the other one.Guy
Overall: I played a show recently that had an in house sound system. They had a headliner410 and a peavey tour750 amp. It sounded good but…. I had to go out to the trailer and grab my peavey 210cabinet with a built in tweeter. Im not impressed by cabinets that dont have a horn/tweeter, Im a funk r&b motown bassist. On some songs I have to slap or thump. Together the 2 of them sounded awesome……..Maverick
WOW is the only way to describe this cabinet. I purchased a "scratch & dent" product, let me tell you this cabinet was in almost perfect condition all but for a "REAL SMALL DENT" Played this cabinet for the first time "Live" three days after receiving it and …WOW…paired it with a 1×15 cab and a GK MB500 head and I literally shook the venue to where you could actually feel the vibrations on stage and the dance floor, thinking it was the 1×15 I disconnected it and to my surprise it was the Peavey 4×10 doiing the shaking , again WOW ! Some people in other reviews has giving negative comments for the "Carpet" to me no big deal because it is "A Lot" cheaper to recover the carpet then Tolex when that time comes, so not a big deal for me. I did install a set of removable Fender casters because this cabinet is heavy (75 lbs) and they make it real easy to move in and out of gigs… I also love the fact that I DOES NOT have a horn that suits our style of classic rock that we cover. YES I Highly recommend this cabinet over the more expensive brands, WHY pay three times the amount for the same results !!!!!Doug, bigdog2116

Overall: If you are looking to add volume and low end to your 10 inch combo or cabinet, look no further, this is it. The sound is pretty good for either clean or distorted sounds. It may not have the "magic" of some high end Celestions, but it sounds MUCH better than most stock speakers that come in mid to low priced amps and cabinets. In my opinion the best thing about this speaker is that this is the only speaker out there that makes a 10 inch combo sound like a 12 inch combo. (and it really does) I had put this speaker in a Laney Cub 10 and had it sitting on top of a 4X12 cabinet that I keep at my friend's practice space/ home studio. He walked in while I was playing and thought that I had it connected to the 4X12,.. no joke.Lawrence
Sound: Solid sound across a wide range of frequencies. The Ragin Cajun has a warm sound as opposed to the more jangly British sound that it replaced in a Vox Valvatronics VT40+. A definite improvement, especially as the original speaker had died. The Eminence product has more power handling capability so it is a step over the Vox "Original" sound. Features: Well its ceramic magnet is good but is not light weight like and alinco or neodymium would be. Ease of Use: Easy to install. Quality: Better than original. Value: Fair price! Manufacturer Support: Did not deal with the company directly, but the Eminence website has lots of data and you can hear the sounds on youtube. The Wow Factor: It has more of a bite than the original British sounding speaker and is also much louder, so it makes it possible to gig with a 10" amp. Overall: The speaker should outlast the amp. We'll see…
This 10” speaker is what every speaker should sound like. Tight low end, mids are just right and the high end is smooth. Now I put this in a fender frontman 25R. Yes it’s solid state, but this speaker made it a great practice amp. I would use this at a small gig that’s how much I think this speaker made this amp beyond usable now. I’m an Eminence fan for life.Vjgreen

I spent DAYS reading all of the specs on the various Eminence NEO speakers, and then I saw the specs on these, and they were CLOSER to what I wanted. I put two of them in a 2-12 cabinet with a Blonde Bassman Clone, and they are EXACTLY what I want. I can use them for bass, and I can use them with my heavy string Tele and Gretsch guitars. they really sound great. And the cabinet is SO LIGHT. I am going to be replacing several of my very heavy EVM's in the future with these. NO, they are not an EVM or a JBL, but they are more than ten pounds lighter each.lehm4206

I bought a pair of these for a Gibson Ranger GA-55RVT that I restored and converted to 2×12's instead of 4×10's. I cut the case down and installed a new speaker mounting plate, new Tolex, knobs, electrolytics, tubes, everything. The only thing I didn't have was a matched pair of 12-inch guitar speakers, so I installed a pair of ruggedized 12-inch "no-name" (Urban Audio Works) speakers until I got everything worked out on the Ranger. The Gibson actually sounded decent with the Urbans, but with these Legends, it really rocks! The sound is exactly as described in the ad: Lots of growl and muscle, especially with the front pickups, but zingy highs and midranges for lead work with the middle and back pickups. I was torn between the Jensen C12N's and C12K's, but then I saw Music123's ad for the Eminence Legend 1258s, and decided to give them a try. Plus, I heard the Jensen's were more "British" and "woody" sounding, and I wanted an American rock/Fender Twin sound for my Gibson. That amp uses two 6L6's for output (as opposed to four for the Fender) so I was worried that the C12K's might be too much, and the C12Ns too little. But the Legends are perfect. They really brought my Ranger to life, at all volume settings. The biggest thing Ive noticed is how these speakers bring out the differences in the switch and pickup settings on my various guitars, from Strats and Strat copies, to my 76 Kramer aluminum neck 450G. They really have a great tonal range. And the 75-watt rating (x2) is perfect for the 55-watt Gibson amp.John Young-Y0CQl
This speaker doesn't get a lot of press because it is overshadowed by the Patriot and Red Coat speakers in the Eminence brand. I've been through many Emi speakers in the newer lines but came back to this one. It is clean but definitely not sterile. Big warm (tight but not boomy) bass, mids are solid but smooth with just a touch of bite when you crank your mids. Highs are strong but musical – not harsh. It plays any style of music and keeps its composure at high volumes. I also like that it is slightly less efficient allowing me to turn my amp up more to get into the sweet spot. It just plain works for my Fender 40 watt black face amp. Cleans are exceptional and overdrive is very musical. For my purposes, it is the best speaker Emi sells.Super 400
I've been using a pair of these for 6 years, for different heads, amps too. Really powerful tight sound, I love em. However, with a silver stripe Bandit 112 they were too bright/harsh. It's because the Bandit is just too bright and harsh, I had a very hard time tweaking an overdrive distortion I liked from that amp…sold it. But I'm keeping the Legend 1258s, they make every other amp I've had sound great!!!!Buffalo_BiL

Reviews:
I bought two of these several weeks ago to replace the very old drivers in my SWR series II 2-10 cab. Perfect fit. They have an inner seal ring that seals the speaker cutout. I think these must be direct replacements. They look identical. But sound even better. To my ears there is a bit more low end, but the midrange clarity is still there, something I missed when I tried the BP 102 in the same cab. I also tried Faital Pro 10PR300, but not nearly enough low end. The CA-10's passed the test so I purchased 2 more for the other cab. I've been waiting a long time for these. I've used them in live gigs and I'm totally happy with them. Can't beat the price, either.Bassman62
Big fan of Eminence to begin with and these speakers did not disappoint. I have a Hartke 2×10 and bought an empty Hartke 2×10 cabinet. I wanted a more traditional tone to complement the aluminum speakers. I bought the CA10's simply because they seemed to match my desired specs. After purchase I read several posts on various sites that they are NOT recommended for sealed cabinets. Well, mine are sealed and I think they sound great. Not sure what they would sound like in a ported cab but I don't really care. Yes I would recommend these speakers.GEORGE

I put a pair of these in EV TL 806 Vented cabinets but the sound was not so good a bit hollow, empty and lacking punch. I built a 1.8 cu. ft. sealed cab and the sound was much improved smooth and punchey. I play a Rickenbacker bass that can be quite bright/ boomy on top end and these speakers handle it well.Randy

This is a replacement for a bass combo amplifier and it sounds better than the original. I was going to swap this out when the original came back from reconing, but will keep it as is and use the original in an extension cabinet.Pushes the low notes without overtones and cuts through the room. Very reasonable price for the quality.Sal

Reviews:
I bought this because it was on sale at a great price. Was not expecting it to sound this good, esp after reading a review somewhere that said it was a really "dry-sounding" amp. I don't find that at all. Of all the amps I have owned — Aguilar Tone Hammer, Mark Bass Big Bang, Hartke 5500, Hartke TA600, Mark Bass Little Tube, and Fender Rumble — this one has to best tone to me. When the amp was backordered I almost canceled the order but am really glad I didn't. The only amp I have that sounds better is a Hartke LH1000, which is a Class A tube amp and very very heavy. The Acoustic is a fantastic amp! Great EQ possibilities, lots of tone-shaping options. The low end is much clearer than the Aguilar Tone Hammer, which tends to distort at low frequencies. More than anything, I just love the sound of this amp. Kind of odd that they are not more popularSuperman
I believe this amp is way above average with any style that you play . But as far as hard rock/metal ? Its got to be the best I've ever experienced ! I've been playing since the mid eighties but I bought this head for my son . I also bought two B410C Acoustic bass cabinets to go with the B600HD head . A perfect match ! Unbelievable hard rock tone and the overdrive is awesome ! I used to use effect processors for overdrive and compression . Not with this head! The compressor does a great job and I don't see having to use anything else other than flange or some kind of delay if he chooses. Its extremely loud and you can get those cool sounds as Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath and Scott Reeder from Kyuss . You can turn overdrive off and it has great clear bass tones also with a great eq . I wasn't sure what a Notch filter was , but it does make a noticeable difference that is adjustable . Again the overdrive is so good , you wouldn't ever think about using the Tech 21 Sansamp bass driver . Sounds so much better!! Another great and puzzling thing is the price . How can it be so good and so inexpensive? I think Acoustic's marketing program is dropping the ball . More people should know about this company! Why anyone would by Ampeg or Harke is beyond me !! Acoustic blows them away !!! only con is that its so light and powerful it vibrates off the cabinet . I've got to find a solution to that . I'm very happy with Acoustic and my expectations were exceeded.Kyuss Fan #1

Sound: Replaced bass in a set of Studio Monitor speakers connected to NAD amp. Superb sound: clear, crisp at any volume. Much depends on a quality amp so, if you're thinking upgrade, consider the whole package to get the most out of Eminence speakers. Overall: No past experience with Eminence but researched the heck out of replacing bass before I settled on these. From what I learned, Beta's should last many years and they were a breeze to swap out the existing speakers. All it took was a screwdriver and in ten minutes I was listening to great music.
Quality and construction appear very good and I really appreciate the gasket on the back side of the basket for mounting on the front of the baffle. The packing from Eminence was excellent. I installed these speakers in mid sized sealed cabinets along with the 270-125 heavy duty titanium super tweeters. Over all I m very pleased. I am powering them with a 150W per channel mixer. These will play extremely loud with no hint of distortion. No rubs, buzzes, or other issues. The sound is fairly natural. Very punchy in the mid range. Vocals and guitar seem to come to the front of the mix. The bass is more subdued. Of course, this is probably due to overlap with the tweeters. At low and medium volume they still sound good. Almost as good as decent Hi-Fi speakers and better than most PA speakers on recorded music. I think they ll work really well for my indented purpose as PA vocal speakers.Parts Express Customer - 12732
Overall: bought this speaker after purchasing a cheaper speaker to upgrade a monitor cabinet. the cheaper speaker had a great appearance but was not pushing the db's. So I searched for a better alternative.. These Beta speakers are loud!!! and great for vocals.. They cover all frequencies perfectly.. The spec sheets do not lie.. I will be buying moreGregg
