Jbl Bass Guitar Speakers For Sale (2024 Update)

I had been hesitant to buy this product, but the most recent sale swayed me. Now keep in mind that this style subwoofer will not outperform a similar sized sub with a corresponding box. However, for those with limited space (two seater convertibles such as my Toyota MR2 Spyder), it fills that low-end void that the two 6.5 speakers and two 1 tweeters lacked. The JBL BassPro SL2 gives full and robust bass without overpowering the mid and high frequencies.Eric

This JBL subwoofer is very well built with plenty of adjustments. Keep in mind that it may not fit under your seat and it really will not replace a dedicated subwoofer box with a high powered amp. I needed to still have a usable trunk in my Mustang GT convertible and the solution was to create a small port to have some of the woofer inside the boot area. I don;t need a big booming bass box, just some bottom end to fill in on some songs and send some waves to be felt in my seat. This also allowed the installer to adjust cutoffs for the interior JBL speakers because some songs were really pushing those speakers too hard with distortion. Now the Sony/JBL system plays much louder and distortion free with the top down and I can hear more bass details on many songs. RCA inputs and very adjustable . Get a qulaity amp install kit because the power is going to the battery and you don't want hum, noise or issues .Sparky

After running my power wire, ground wire, and remote wire, this subwoofer did not turn on. The led power indicator flickered a couple times, but that’s it. I realize a bad unit can happen occasionally. JBL has authorized a replacement and I’m waiting for my warranty replacement. I’m looking forward to hearing what this sub can do…after I receive a working unit. I appreciate JBL honoring their warrantee, although I’m waiting on the replacement.ScoopedMids

I put it in my 2014 Infiniti QX70 which has an 11 speaker Bose system. It had a spare tire subwoofer which consists of a 5 1/4 subwoofer with a separate amplifier. Believe me when I say that I could holler louder. I have this JBL SPARE TIRE SUBWOOFER and the difference is night and day. You must use an amplifier wiring kit. Its not the same as a ported 12 but it will rattle your hatch so plan on installing sound deading material. The wired controller is a big plus. If you have a hatchback that stores your spare tire and you want your subwoofer hid this is the one to buy!QX70

I have been running STX828s Subs for some time and they require more power to give a really good bump outside. I was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency of this SRX828 cabinet and it was just the ting I need to give my small outdoor PA more presence. FYI, I ran this cabinet with a QSC PLD 4.5 4 Channel Bridged and set the output to 3,000 watts; worked great.gamble300

First and foremost, the price cannot be beat! I opted for this bundle over the 306P bundle for more headroom in sound. Second, despite the crazy winter freeze we had, my order arrived at a decent time frame in CA.Now on to the items.THE SPEAKERS: 5 Stars. Very robust and well built. I might've bought more that what I needed (maybe I should've gone with the 306P bundle). But nonetheless these speakers are well built, has some decent weight to it, and the option of either a 1/4" or XLR input is a plus. Volume adjust knob is your basic 0-10 scale. I have these set to 6 with my DDJ-SX3 main volume and EQs at 12 o'clock…it is plenty loud at that level. You will need plenty of room if you are planning on using these as "book case" speakers.THE STANDS: 4 Stars. I think the platforms are a bit small for the speakers imo, but they still hold and support the speakers just fine. Although a bit teeter-tottery, they work well (they are sitting on carpet). Centering the speaker on it allows for a decent stand. The base weight will do well for speakers of this size and smaller. Adjustments are easy. Having a safety pin is a plus as well. However, be careful that you do not over tighten the knobs, or you can potentially strip the threads.THE MOPADS: 3 Stars. I am using them now. But honestly, I do not think they do too much at the volume I have them at. I can see them working better if the volumes are higher. But for now it is a meh for the pads for me. So i am satisfied with them. What they do add, is a larger platform for the speakers to sit on.THE TRS CABLES: 5 Stars. What DJ will not appreciate an extra pair of audio cables? These cables come in handy for when I actually need to use the 308Ps as monitors once I start gigging again. My DDJ-SX3 has dedicated outs for monitors and these TRS cables are an appreciated addition.A great bundle at a great price! Pick it up when they are in stock. I have had a recording studio for many years. I had Tannoy 6D speakers and Yamaha NS10s On my bridge. With age I have sold most of the analog audio gear. My Tannoys finally died after 15 years of good use. I bought these because the rest of my house has JBL speakers. These are good speakers. Not as much bass as I would have liked. I interfaced a graphic equalizer and used the Tannoy Sub and it is very good now. Now I am using the JBL 308P speakers on each side of my LG 55 OLED monitor in my MacPro. DaVinci Resolve 17 Studio. The speakers are well-defined but, not as good as the Tannoy reference monitors. For the price, a steal. PS: I am not being paid by the JBL company for this review.hartkopproductions

Well, I give them 5 stars because they sound like that; best sound in their category and several ones above. And no, there is no background hiss or anything, they are extremely quiet and silences are dark black. I am actually re-listening lots of music to learn a lot about what I couldn't discern before. Apart from the joy of discovering details and instruments unheard previously, some recordings will not be faring well, their mistakes and limitations are now evident, now that the masking is gone. And it is surprising how well they sound despite my small room. Therefore most everything is superb, except for a little, very minor detail… The other day I was on a session with a trumpeter, with whom we make some music together. Since my part was playing a recorded track as musical base (and his, was jamming on top), then – while I was busy equalizing the base live real-time -, suddenly on a particularly crowded Mid freqs. section of the track, a strange noise came out unexpectedly. I do know the track quite well, so I looked for resonances around, and there closely on the speakers themselves it was a middle freq. coveted rattling. I understand it is resonates by so precise specific frequencies and harmonic content (that have to be played) at a very high volume that it even couldn't be replicated with just a frequency sweep. I found it because that is the unusual type of middle freq. content and variation I like to play with, which is very rare in common musical genres. So after reading on reviews at the net, there is a good chance that the new shinny black plastic cover needs some silicone/material for padding. I use both the Eon12s and the Eon15s. Both are excellent powered speakers. The bass sounds better than QSC and the highs are very crisp. I dj weddings. The speakers look beautiful and sound fantastic. The DSP EQ Settings are wonderful. The EON 15s and 12s are selling at a great price because previous buyers didnt understand that the blue tooth is only for adjusting the speakers EQ. I used to use the old JBS MR 15s with a QSC Amp. These speakers sound almost as good as expensive passive speakers. What is best about them? They can take punishment. 3 years and no problems with any of the 15 EONs my DJs use. These speakers are also very simple to use and run in series with each other. Speakers that cost $1,800.00 do not sound as good as the EON Series from JBL. I run my audio feed to them through a compressor, which keep the audio spikes from blowing the speakers. They also sound great using them with a raw feed directly out of your mixer. Buy a pair and you will never regret it.jimmyhmets

I've been using a ~$200 10" powered speaker with Roland synth modules and a Yamaha WX7 for a couple years to emulate brass, winds, and strings. Clean sound, portability, and small size are all a must. This speaker was "ok," but in some situations, sounded slightly ragged. I need another speaker and decided to go upscale with the EON 610, knowing it was about 6lb and a couple inches larger, all around. Compared to my old 10" speaker, the JBL seems taller, wider, and deeper than the dimensional differences would suggest — it's almost as large as some economy 12" models. Where the old box could be planted unobtrusively in front of a music stand or to the side of my chair, the JBL's size might be an issue. Sound-wise, the EON 610 is LOUD, very clean (like listening with a pair of headphones), tight, and transparent. Even with the gain set for mic input, it is extremely quiet. Instruments are smoother and more realistic, although not dramatically. Extended A-B comparison gave the JBL the edge, which, at near twice the cost and twice the power, isn't surprising. Dual channel mixer and selectable EQ curves are nice touches. It's definitely worth the extra $$$, size, and weight. The negatives — yes there are a few. No manual in the box (you need to download it). The Android Bluetooth app requires Android 4.4 or better (why not 4.0?). Unless you have a device with Kit Kat, you are out of luck (or more $$$) to use the heavily advertised Bluetooth feature to tweak EQ and gain with your smart phone or tablet. Various JBL info states all the EON 600 series boxes have a handle on each side, but the 610 has side handles only. Lastly (and this is an observation, not a gripe), the 610 appears not to have the fancy woofer wave guide. Regardless, the coverage is still wider than the 12" or 15" model. In all, the EON 610 might be a little large for a tight pit orchestra, but can probably hold its own on stage for many applications where the smaller box won't cut it. Great performance extracts a small penalty in weight and size. Price gets JBL sound and quality, and a sense of confidence that goes with them. It's a keeper.Guy

I get good compliments for having this JBL brand EON610 PA/speaker for its realistic, clear sound of my voice, which is very easy to understand, even in the back of the audience. I use this for small church audiences. I am told it that my voice sounds very clear and the volume is very good, even from the back of the audience, without being too loud for the front row. One frustrating hassle is that the instructions are extremely brief. If you really search online you can find enough info eventually, but it takes time and persistence, It took me a few hours, over the course of a few days, to figure out how to make the most out of just plugging in my Shure vocal microphone. The Channel 1 and Channel 2 Mic/Line switches are confusing to look at and hard to use without getting a tool to operate the button. The symbols next to the Mic/Line switches say depressed for Mic and not depressed for Line, but it LOOKS like the button is missing! it is actually a white button recessed behind the hole, it requires a dow rod (or anything that will fit) narrow enough to stick in the hole, only then is it easy to feel the click of depressing the button for Mic, (my EON610 arrived as not depressed for Line, so my Shure vocal mic was only as loud as my speaking voice, with the GAIN and MASTER VOLUME both at max). I wondered and stressed for a day if I needed to buy a preamp, before I figured this trick on my own. I don't like having to use my iPhone to operate the EQ. I don't like having to have a mandatory third party remote control. The iPhone app is sluggish making its Bluetooth connection, so I have to fumble around for 10 minutes or more. To be fair, the JBL preset for SPEECH seems to be just fine for my audience, even though it seems a bit boomy to me. The mid-range EQ seems to offer more versatility after much research online. I would recommend this to a friend if I could show them the tricks, straight out of the box. You really need someone to give you tips.Rev316

I have these speakers in a 99 Corvette with an Alpine 126Bt, Alpine KTP 445 power pack, Infinity Ref 5.25 and a Sound ordinance powered sub. They are probably a little under powered in my system but I find loud does not always mean sounds better. I have JBL speakers in all 3 of my vehicles so I may be biased. The bass in these speakers will surprise you, I know it did me. The 2 ohms make it feasible to use your existing stock wiring as well and they were built with that in mind, thus one of the reasons for 2 ohm. If you're powering them with a big amp you may want to upgrade your wiring though. The positioning of the speakers in a C5 Corvette is suspect so I don't get the full potential from these speakers, but I have the JBL 608C in my Mustang and they are also excellent speakers with way better positioning, so I rate them even with the edge going to the 660 if you are adding a big amp. You will have to play around with the db setting. I actually have one set at 0 and one at -6. Both at -6 is to low and both at 0 was to crisp. HPF set at 80 on these and on the sub. I would put these speakers up against any of what I call over priced speakers that attempt to make you believe they're better just because they have a high price. Oh yeah, the crossover is huge so you will have to find an adequate place for it. I personally don't see much of a difference in the 660 and the 608C so long as you have a mild amp, or no amp at all. Nice speaker. Ive tried kenwood coax its too loud for me,, then infinity kappa full range w/c is loud and clear., but since this jbl is component its more define. I feed this speaker with alpine 1300 wts 4 channel and tune it with kicker front row., i put sound deadening in all my doors and trunk.Over all the clarity of jbl is good mid bass is ok twit is ok. Just let the prof tune it so youll be satisfied., remember diff cars diff sound outcome even you have same speakers.kalisilat13072

A lot much better then the single 18 inch 1500 watt edition and has a lot more power and much more bass than the single 18. Only downside is its 30 lbs heavier then the first product. But is very power conservative and very easy to use even the non tech savvy could figure it out .colton.l

Sound: I have been running sound for a touring Jam band now for over 5 years and the sound quality of these are amazing. I am always looking for a near perfect reproduction of what I hear on stage, and these speakers do it beyond belief! They require minimal EQing and sound great OOB. Features: Well built with JBL's heavy duty coating. Ease of Use: Plug and play with no EQing or add a little and REALLY make them sing! Quality: Seem to be built road tuff for the long haul! The Wow Factor: I started with the JRX series and worked up to the SRX series… The JRX speakers are stil sounding striong and were the workhorse of my system till this purchase, I see the SRX series as an amazign improvment and well worth the money. Trust me, you will not beleive the advancement n quality all around!!! Overall: So being an old school power amp guy, I went against my better judgment and bought a pair of the Powered JBL PRX815’s. First time out of the box was a small festival/album release party for the band I manage. Let me just say that I was HIGHLY disappointed. I am not sure where they achieved the 137 db peak, the pair I had went into limit mode with almost NO input. With that said, I was on the phone with JBL and zZounds before the first act left the stage… As always zZounds was amazing. Full return on the pair. I then did a few days of research and decided to bite the bullet and pay the almost $400 extra for the SRX815 passive speakers. WOW these things are amazing. First night out I decided to power them a little light with a pair of old school Samson SX2400 boat anchors bridged at 1500 watts. The sound quality was amazing! Crisp true sounding highs, full sounding mids and just enough punch on the bottom end to roll off into my PRX 818’s.Mike

WOW! WOW! These are a game changer. Go demo these!! To beat this sound quality and dynamic performance, I dare say you would have to go with VTX array speakers. Yes, I've heard the VTX arrays – that is a huge step, but there is voodoo magic going on with these SRX speakers. I'm not aware of anything that beats these without spending 5X in gear. And LOVE the iPad app that allows you to remote control them including master volume and EQ setting with ability to save multiple profiles (SHOWs). I sold my own personal home hi-fi the sound is that good… one might even say… almost M2 Monitor good. This is the only PA system that works for home hi-fi IMHO. The cooling fan goes into sleep mode so when the speaker is idle (NO ANNOYING FAN NOISE!!). Ability to remote control with App is essential for home hi-fi.Tom

Overall: I've owned a pair of JBL 835Ps for less than a year and just today on 2/11/22, when I turned them on, one of the speakers went into "Protect" mode. There was absolutely no power running through the speaker. When the XLR connection was hooked up, there was no audio. I switch the same cable to the other speaker and it worked fine. I then reached out to zZounds and they confirmed the speaker is covered under JBL warranty. I then called Harmon/JBL and they confirmed that the speaker is covered by their warranty. The tech on the phone said "OH, NO" when I explained the issue. It almost seemed to me, like it is an ongoing issue. Once I completed the phone call, I was told that the nearest JBL authorized repair shop is over 130 miles from my location. Quite a drive to drop off and then pick up, after approximately a 5-7 day expected turnaround time. Shipping for repairs, would cost a ton. When I decided to check the internet for JBL SRX powered series forums, there were many others who were having the same issue. I love the sound of the JBL SRX835Ps compared to EV, QSC and others I've owned, but this issue is a complete turn off.Victor

I bought this for my house and am blown away with its performance. I have very high expectations, but this just took it to another level, in fact I see myself purchasing a 2nd one. I don't like my neighbors so with a 2nd one I should see for sale signs going up soon. One note for any of you that are installing this in your home, you will run into a problem if your trying to run it out of the back of your AVR, the signal to the sub will not work as it is not strong enough. I had to purchase a small mixer, ran the sub ouput from my AVR to the mixer, and a 1/4" jack from the mixer to the Sub. Dont use a XLR connector is it is a balanced cable and does not work as well as a 1/4" unbalanced as I had to plug it into a RCA jack in my wall which is unbalanced as well. With the mixer this sub just flat kills it. It is amazing and I highly recommend it. 5 Stars.Evilgeniuz

Overall: I took my time and did the research it was between EV QSC and JBL. I almost jumped on the band wagon with the other DJ's who often complain about weight and size. I want a professional P.A. not another dj setup that played tricks. I found it in the JBL SRX 828 and 835's. I use for dj and live sound application indoor and out You can definitely tell the difference outside between 3" voice coil and the smaller voice coils in the other powered system. I had no drop off in clarity at 325 feet. Big Sound and I get loads of compliments. I wouldn't change a thing.Dj

This is a good all in one system. It's good bass but it won't shake the car next to you or rattle your fillings. One thing that was a little frustrating was the screws to tighten the power, ground, and remote are mounted upside down. So when it is sitting up right, the screws are underneath the wires and it's hard to get the screws in the holes while holding the wire while the screwdriver is pointing up from underneath. It would have been better to have open holes with the screws on top or an allen wrench to cinch down directly on the wire would be best. Also while the subwoofer bars look cool, they stick out at least 2 extra inches so if space is a premium, you might have to take them off. If you have a pretty decent factory system but you just want more bass, this is pretty simple and has enough bass for almost anybody.PlanoJimmy

Great powered sub at an amazing price! I installed it myself in a 2017 Dodge Durango using the speaker level inputs (high inputs). I tapped into the speaker wires from behind the 8.4” display and got the power from the battery under the passenger seat, then hid the wires on the run to the cargo space. I stuck the bass knob on my driverside seatbelt with Velcro tape and put a extra soft strip on the other side to prevent scuff marks on the console. After about 1.5 weeks of break-in this sub sounds better and better. It pounds and punches pretty nice. Some lower notes don’t hit as hard as I would like, but overall great product. It’s hard to believe this is only 150 watts RMS. Planning on buying another one for my car. Actual rating 4.5 starsTonyS

JBL GT-BassPro12 Cranks out good bass for its size. Can get a bit boomy if you turn the bass boost to high. I found that setting the amp to 3/4 with the remote set on min. This allows you to adjust the bass with the remote. Keeping the amps bass boost at 3/4 keeps it from being turned up to much. Of house you have to fine tune it as needed, just don't crank everything to max and wonder why it sounds boommy and distorted overloaded. Also check your factory, or othe head unit settings, some have bass boost to. I had it on 3 of 5 but backed it down to 0 very happy with it so far. May buy another for my truck.srxtreme

From the pics it looks like the perfect complement to the other Control series speakers we had (28-1) – and it is – but its also MASSIVE. Far, far deeper than the control speakers which is to be expected but I just didn't notice online. I didn't like that it had no 70V transformer and that this was a separate purchase when the other's already had one. I get that its a big, heavy transformer but just seems a bit shady given the cost already. Thankfully we found one cheap on ebay. One of the terminal posts for the transformer snapped off during install though so that was a shame – caused some problems getting that fixed/swapped. The terminals are a part of the backplate so its not a simple bolt swap either. Sound-wise its a pretty typical sub and doesn't reach as far into the low-mids as I'd hoped when pairing with some JBL 28-1's. If I had 4x of the 28's I think it might be a better fit, but with just 2x 28's and this sub, there is still a pretty nice hole about 100-200hz. That said, the sub does a great job in filling out the sound and for a restaurant or retail application this would probably be ideal. Given I'm building an outdoor PA for a church using retail speakers, its a pretty good end result. Going with one of the larger JBL outdoor speakers might solve the problem too, haven't been able to try those yet, but the 28's don't quite reach down low enough to give the illusion of a full range system. It was a nice touch that they threw in the weather resistant input plate cover with the sub (had to buy them with the 28's).Jon

As the dimensions show this thing is physically huge. The sound quality is great for our outdoor restaurant and bumps pretty good with the synthwave music we have on it.Thomas
