Speaker For Guitar Amp For Sale (2024 Update)

Speakers are nearly as important as the amp. If you like your amp but want a better tone, change your speakers, mix and match, look at what speakers the big boys use. This speaker certainly has its haters. By themselves, I usually felt something is missing. I had these in a Carvin USA 4×12 and Marshall 1960a 4×12. With my Marshall cab I have a Marshall JVM 210 head. This cab with the marshall head sounds great. It sounds so good I took the back off the cab to see if they were in fact 75s in there. I have a 1980s JCM 800 that also sounds great with this cab. However, my Engl amp sound ok but definitely not great with these speakers. I had and sold a Carvin MTS 3200 head because I could never get a good dirty tone out of it. I think now it was the lack of tone caused by the speakers. Thus I started my experiment. I took the Carvin cab apart and mixed in an X patern Vintage 30s and the 75s. Both speakers sound better in this combination. All my amps sounded great with this cab. I then mixed the 75s with G12h Anniversay and same result. Ditto for the greenbacks. I am not exaggerating that the tone changed signicantly, and every time for the better, when I mixed other top end speakers with the 75s. I'm keeping my marshall cab as is with the 75s. However, this cab sounded noticeably better than the Carvin cab with 75s in it. The Carvin cab is very high quality and well built. As a result, I will never ever use any other cab with just 75s in them. I will always mix them with other speakers and recommend this to you. I play classic rock and blues. By themselves, the speakers I like best are greenbacks. I had a wow moment there. The G12 H also sound great alone. The vintage 30s are more like the 75s. Alone, they can get on your nerves. The top end is outright harsh. But everyone knows that for cutting through the mix the V30s are great. So like the 75s, they need to be tamed by mixing them with another speaker. Verdict- great speaker for metal and players who like the mods scooped. For other players, they sound great mixed with V30s, greenbacks etc, etc. the 75s are not great at all at cutting through the mix. I think the best scenario if you want to buy this speaker or have a cab with them In it is to mix it with another top end speaker. My recommendation is if you have a 4×12 take two out and mix with either V30s or G12h. It will sound great. As a second option, if you have a cab with V 30s and you think they are too harsh sounding, the 75s will tame it. However, there are better speakers out there- tryout the greenbacks. Creambacks, and other speakers before you buy these.Ron

I bought this to replace my stock Peavey Sheffield in my 6505+ 112 combo and I'm very happy with the results. The amp now has the added character. The dirty cleans, mean crunch and the searing lead tones of the Peavey 6505+ are all way better through this speaker! Everything with gain sounds way more \m\ METAL /m/ than the stock speaker ever did to me. I play with a lot of gain so that's what i was after in choosing this upgrade. This speaker did everything I hoped, completely transformed my 1×12 combo. Cleaned up the highs and mids and added chunk to the bass. Most importantly, it gave me projection. My sound was not lost in a blur 10 ft. from the amp anymore. Only con has nothing to do with the G12T. The old speaker had 6 mounting bolts, while Celestion uses only 4. It took me about an hour to take out the 4 I couldn't use and reinstall 2 in the right position.Paulie

This speaker is ideal for the lead guitarist who needs to project well in the mix at gig volume in a band setting. It is not the ideal choice if you use it at home for practice and noodling. There are a lot better speakers that will enhance your tone at home — think Greenback, Creamback or similar. I have these mixed in two 4×12 cabs. Alone, the V30's highs are shrill and will drive you nuts. To maximize the advantages of this speaker, I suggest you mix them in an X pattern. I have mine mixed with G12T-75s in one cab and G12H in the other. Both sound great at any volume and with the V30s cut through the mix at gig volume. In short, this is a great speaker for the gigging lead guitarist who must project his sound. Works best at high volume which it handles with ease. This speaker's harsh tone can be tamed when paired with another speaker which will improve your tone. It works well with every speaker I paired it with. If you're not in a band or looking for killer tone with lower watt heads or just lower volume, I suggest you look at another speaker as there are better sounding speakers. This speaker is all about the gigging guitarist cutting through the mix.Ron

Not a good choice for a warm amp without good high frequencies ! My Jet City 2212c amp has a bright attack using a Legend 1258 speaker and even brighter with the stock custom Eminence speaker but this SPEAKER fixed the harsh attack and added nice harmonics I did not hear before from this amp ! I had my eyes opened when I tested the Jet City amp with the vintage 30 that came in my BadCat Cougar 5watt tube combo , wow what a difference ! This amp gets mediocre reviews with the stock speaker , not mediocre anymore and can cut up the treble or presents control for more of a Vox top boost amp tones ! It gets overdriven to clean like Tom Petty tones now ! Careful choosing a Cream back Celestion the EQ on my G12 65M cuts midrange noticeably which I did not like but it sure sounds good too ! You need beautiful midrange go with the Vintage 30 no question !golddust742

I had long heard about the celestion vintage 30 but only recently decided to see what the hype was all about. I can say that this speaker has truly made a huge difference in sound. Each note emanating from my guitar is now rich and full. This speaker makes the clean channel of my amp sound warm and chimey. And the gain channel packs much more punch. Without belaboring the point, this speaker is worth every penny and will inspire you. Now I know what the hype is all about.Gary

I've been through many, many 12s for Blackface style speakers. These are my faves. For good 60s tones in country and rock with a BF amp these guys work great. Take pedals well. Not shrill or muddy in my experience. Solid surfy bass. Smooth treble. 120 watts which is triple what I would ever throw at em. For me the tones of these are somewhere in between American and British. I use these mainly in a 2×10 cab for a fender vibroverb style amp. Vs the Oxford speakers these have a lil more mid focus and rounded highs that work much better with higher gain tones. I also use these with my Marshall origin 50 set relatively clean to get a slightly bigger bottom end than V30s.RockinJohnson

I bought this speaker in the 16ohm version to replace a v30 in my orange ppc1x12. I love the v30 but I mainly use a 100w Marshall DSL100HR and the v30 by itself couldn't handle all that wattage since it's only 60watts. So I decided to go with the swamp thang cause a little more defined low end sounded like a good idea as I play a 7 string ltd (fishman fluence pups) half the time. But I was worried I would loose the highs that we need for attack in high gain situations as well as playing clean which I do very often also. But now that I've played tgrough this speaker I can say that is not a problem whatsoever. This speaker has twice the highs and twice the lows as my v30. Probably a little less midrange but since it's such a powerful speaker it doesn't feel like it's relying on mids the cut through. Full disclosure I've only had the speaker a few hours and played through it a little over an hour but if it sounds this good outta the box I'm confident things will only get better. It's a great sounding speaker in my opinion that would complement any style/set up. I plan on buying an empty Luke 2x12C cab from seismic audio soon so i can pair the ST and the v30 which im lookong forward to. But in the meantime im in no huge hurry since the ST sounds so good by itself.Michael I.

I use a Marshall DSL20HR through a Blackstar cab with a Celestion Seventy 80 in it. I could only get a usable sound by turning the presence all the way down and the treble most of the way down. It was too ice-picky otherwise. I replaced the Seventy 80 with this Greenback, and what a difference. It warmed up the sound considerably without muddying it in the least.Bates

Overall this is my favorite Celestion speaker. I am running through a boutique Swart MOD 84 VOX inspired 15-watt amp and this speaker works perfectly! It sounds great clean with chimey and sparkling highs. Very articulate and touch sensitive. When overdriven it has the characteristic velvety smooth mids and tight bass. This is the sound of mid 60s through the 70s Rock and British Blues. AMS has great deals and payment plans to help musicians of all kinds. AMS shipped quickly. This is a great speaker. I have them in a 2×12 and use it with a Marshall JCM 800 50 W head and a Orange OR 15 head. The vintage tones are great. Really, off the map great. I see why Hendrix, ACDC, EVH and others rave about this speaker. I've experimented with lots of speakers, mixing different speakers and the Greenbacks give me a wow moment everytime. The cleans are crisp and clear. The distorted tone is vintage, very natural, and pure magic. Glorious! Sounds great with my les paul and strat — any guitar and any head. Best for classic rock vintage tones, blues, country or jazz. Metal players should look at something else. The only thing is they are rated 25W which can limit how you use it. Still, well worth the trade-0ff. If you like your amp but are struggling finding that tone we all search for, look at trying these speakers before you buy a new amp. The impact to your tone by adding these speakers is huge. This will upgrade any rig. Highly recommended.Ron

Overall: If you are looking to add volume and low end to your 10 inch combo or cabinet, look no further, this is it. The sound is pretty good for either clean or distorted sounds. It may not have the "magic" of some high end Celestions, but it sounds MUCH better than most stock speakers that come in mid to low priced amps and cabinets. In my opinion the best thing about this speaker is that this is the only speaker out there that makes a 10 inch combo sound like a 12 inch combo. (and it really does) I had put this speaker in a Laney Cub 10 and had it sitting on top of a 4X12 cabinet that I keep at my friend's practice space/ home studio. He walked in while I was playing and thought that I had it connected to the 4X12,.. no joke.Lawrence

This 10” speaker is what every speaker should sound like. Tight low end, mids are just right and the high end is smooth. Now I put this in a fender frontman 25R. Yes it’s solid state, but this speaker made it a great practice amp. I would use this at a small gig that’s how much I think this speaker made this amp beyond usable now. We replaced the stock speaker in a Fender 40 Champ with this. Everybody in the store was astounded and took turns playing through that amp after this upgrade.The local Jazz guru played chord-melody arrangements and told us that from his "old-school" perspective, this was one of the best sounding speakers for Jazz he'd ever heard. (he's over 60 and has played every kind of music through every kind of amp.)We all noticed how it brings out the notes of complex chords with definition and clarity.Then the younger shredders got hold of it. Even when pushed into ridiculous distortion we heard a good balance between tight-clear lows and defined yet sweet highs. There is plenty of high-end for clarity, but it never seemed harsh. All that from an OPEN BACK solid-state amp!The customer, who plays a wide variety of material in several cover bands, was delighted.He uses a Roland GT100 preamp before the amp and demonstrated a huge variety of classic hit tones he uses with his bands. Because he has TWO of these Fender 40 champ amps (for stereo) it was easy to A-B the two amps, which were identical except for the speakers.This speaker is noticeably LOUDER than stock, which can be good or bad depending on your needs. We spent a good hour (or more) listening to a wide variety of classic guitar tones through his system and everyone noticed the improved clarity, definition, articulation. He demonstrated blues tunes by Clapton and SRV, many famous rock licks by Jimmy Page and Hendrix, and floored us with a mess of chickin'-pickin' ala Brent Mason.It's hard to find meaningful adjectives since so many advertisers overwork terms like "warm" or "punchy." I used this speaker as a replacement for the Jensen stock speaker in a '64 Fender Custom Deluxe Reverb amp ..seems like a better made speaker, made by Eminence, designed by Allesandro. a U.S. made speaker with a bit more headroom and bottom end..the only downside all the bolt holes didn't line up..it's still in there though ..drwest845

I swapped original Boss Katana 100 MK2 factory speaker with Celestion Alnico Cream 8 ohm. The sound became awesome. Especially high gain. You should try it and won't be disappointed.Erik

Put it in a Deluxe reverb reissue. I liked the Jensen p12q alnico, but it wasn't loud enough for gigs. The celestion cures that problem and compliments the amp well. Plenty of headroom and still has a nice vintage tone, although not quite the same as the Jensen. Still keeps the fender character, but rolls off some of the harsh high end. No ice pick out of this speaker. I feel that it's an improvement over any of the Jensen. Of course for the price, it should be.J.Brazee

Wow. Finally a speaker I can load in any standard normal stage guitar cabinet and bring my modeler to complete life. Game changer. I am not a huge FRFR fan.. these kind of meet right in the middle giving you a guitar speaker sound and feel with all the dynamics and full modelling from your processor etc. Restored my faith in using a modeller for sure.Mark from SA

I am using this speaker with an ART SLA-2 and a Fractal Axe-FX II. Previously I was running Celestion Vintage 30s and since moving to these speakers it has opened all the different tones and nuances of the modeler. This speaker is a true full range speaker in comparison to the Vintage 30s (which has rolloff maybe around the 10khz. mark). I had to change my tone settings to adjust to the full range but that is not a bad thing since now I have full control all the way up to 20khz. The subtle highs that I was missing before are now adding to the creaminess of the tone. I highly recommend giving these speakers a test. I don't know if they are available in a cabinet, but I placed them into Seismic Audio Luke cabinets and they sound great and fit perfect.Mike

I recently purchased a Quilter 200 watt guitar amp along with the matching 1×12 speaker cab. Apparently, the supplied speaker is actually a bass guitar speaker, so it sounds a little dark with both my guitars and keyboards. I decided to add another speaker which will also raise the rig higher off the ground. I also decided to build a matching cab as the Quilter cabs are a bit pricey, especially since I won't be using the supplied speaker. So searching for a speaker, I came across the F12-X200. I liked that it could handle the power from the amp by itself, and the 2 way construction appealed to me, especially for use with my keyboards and acoustic guitars. It does not disappoint. Very balanced frequency response, and it extends to 20kHz, just like a PA speaker. I would describe the sound as very accurate and clean, even at higher volumes.Nexy

I bought a pair of these for a Gibson Ranger GA-55RVT that I restored and converted to 2×12's instead of 4×10's. I cut the case down and installed a new speaker mounting plate, new Tolex, knobs, electrolytics, tubes, everything. The only thing I didn't have was a matched pair of 12-inch guitar speakers, so I installed a pair of ruggedized 12-inch "no-name" (Urban Audio Works) speakers until I got everything worked out on the Ranger. The Gibson actually sounded decent with the Urbans, but with these Legends, it really rocks! The sound is exactly as described in the ad: Lots of growl and muscle, especially with the front pickups, but zingy highs and midranges for lead work with the middle and back pickups. I was torn between the Jensen C12N's and C12K's, but then I saw Music123's ad for the Eminence Legend 1258s, and decided to give them a try. Plus, I heard the Jensen's were more "British" and "woody" sounding, and I wanted an American rock/Fender Twin sound for my Gibson. That amp uses two 6L6's for output (as opposed to four for the Fender) so I was worried that the C12K's might be too much, and the C12Ns too little. But the Legends are perfect. They really brought my Ranger to life, at all volume settings. The biggest thing Ive noticed is how these speakers bring out the differences in the switch and pickup settings on my various guitars, from Strats and Strat copies, to my 76 Kramer aluminum neck 450G. They really have a great tonal range. And the 75-watt rating (x2) is perfect for the 55-watt Gibson amp.John Young-Y0CQl

This speaker doesn't get a lot of press because it is overshadowed by the Patriot and Red Coat speakers in the Eminence brand. I've been through many Emi speakers in the newer lines but came back to this one. It is clean but definitely not sterile. Big warm (tight but not boomy) bass, mids are solid but smooth with just a touch of bite when you crank your mids. Highs are strong but musical – not harsh. It plays any style of music and keeps its composure at high volumes. I also like that it is slightly less efficient allowing me to turn my amp up more to get into the sweet spot. It just plain works for my Fender 40 watt black face amp. Cleans are exceptional and overdrive is very musical. For my purposes, it is the best speaker Emi sells.Super 400

I've been using a pair of these for 6 years, for different heads, amps too. Really powerful tight sound, I love em. However, with a silver stripe Bandit 112 they were too bright/harsh. It's because the Bandit is just too bright and harsh, I had a very hard time tweaking an overdrive distortion I liked from that amp…sold it. This speaker sounds great in my 5w/1w Marshall DSL5C combo practice amp. I have now tried a ceramic speaker upgrade and an alnico upgrade in this amp and I prefer the alnico hands down. There were merits to both, but here is my experience: I upgraded the cheap stock 10" Celestion Ten-30 speaker in my Marshall to a Celestion G10 Vintage after I bought the amp and it improved the sound, but I always wondered what an alnico speaker would sound like. The cost of the Gold 10 was prohibitive, but after 12 months of playing with the Vintage I finally bit the bullet and bought the Gold. After first putting it in the amp I wasn't sure I liked the changes; it broke up a little differently in frequencies I wasn't used to, so I pulled it and put the 10" Vintage back in the amp. After playing the Vintage again I instantly decided the Gold 10 was better. I haven't looked back since. If you buy this, do the switch and hear for yourself. The ceramic Vintage has more bass, but everything else about the Gold is better. How can I describe it? It is tighter in the low end, just tighter and more controlled and better everywhere, more musical, slightly more defined everywhere, it doesn't lose any punchy-ness, it plays better with my pedals and improved them, distortion is more even, it chimes and rings like a bell on the cleans, it gets better with age as it breaks in, and on and on. I love playing with this speaker in my amp. I can't stop playing. I rush home from work to hear it. The reviews online are accurate and there is a reason there is so much praise for this speaker. You can spend months looking for a cheaper alnico that sounds this good or you can save time and spend the money for this one. Last thing I would say is that like everything GAS, this speaker is great but not the be all end all. It's a good upgrade but not the ultimate solution for your amp. It won't turn a bad amp into a good one, but I love the difference it made in mine.NoNick

This very loud alnico driver has made my Tone King Falcon able to express an assortment of harmonic overtones and complexities that I wasn't experiencing before. Before it sounded nice, but I already knew some details were being taken away from a extremely well designed circuit. When I put this speaker in, my amp is a lot louder, and after 50 or so hours of playing, I must say that the character of this amp has only gotten better. When played clean, the crispiness of this amp extends across all frequencies better, with a faint bell like chime that only couples to the amps sound. The bass is defined much better, the mids sing with more complexity, and the top chimes a bit in a sweet way. When overdriven, the character is still there and the harmonics are also overdriven, very nice! I can imagine this speaker making any circuit express its qualities a lower end speaker won't allow. Only sounds better when you break it in more, becomes more organic and fluid.Cyan

This is a high quality speaker that I just did not bond with. It was purchased for use in a Fender Princeton Reverb Reissue. I read many positive reviews (including ones for this specific amp and speaker combination) and thought I would give this highly regarded speaker a try. I gained thickness, volume, and midrange, but lost articulation, which I need. No amount of EQ adjustment would give me a sound I liked. I followed the recommended break in process from Celestion. I put the stock Jensen C10R back in and it sounds so much better…to me. There was nothing wrong with the G10 Gold, it just was not what I liked. So your mileage may vary. I have 4 WGS Green Beret drivers loaded in a Marshall 1960 TV cabinet…These speakers break up really quick at medium/high level volume levels…they don't handle max volume well. The manufacture claims they are a sonically matched to a 25 watt Celestion Greenback speaker and the manufacture claimed they improved on the tone…. I have owned and used a 4×12 with four Greenbacks installed and also four WGS Green Berets. They don't sound as good as an authentic Greenback when they are cranked but they are ok for being a single speaker. I'm not going to say that the WGS is a bad speaker but if you have ever used Greenbacks then switched to these ( I have) then you would hear the difference and it might be fine to some but I always mixed drivers and did so latter with the Celestion Greenbacks…I used two Celestion G12T and two Celsetion greenbacks in an X pattern loaded in a 1960 Marshall cab and it sounded better than just using 4 Greenbacks alone. The WGS Green Berets manage to remove the spiky treble which is signature to a Greenback when they are cranked…My over sized TV cab is designed to smooth out the greenback spike but now I am running WGS Green berets and they sound a little to fat when I crank them… My amps are Bugera 1960 Infinium with up graded Mullard power and pre-amp tubes…and also 1987 Marshall JCM-800 with KT-77, I've used the TV cab loaded with four WGS Green berets through both heads and the speakers still sound the same when cranked….Loud but WGS doesn't have that spiky treble I was looking for that Greenbacks do.Jeff

I enjoy buying used tube amps and trying different components to get different sounds. I've recently been messing with Traynor YCV 20 amps, trying different tubes and speakers. I swapped out the original Celestion Rocket 50 with both the Eminence Canibus Rex and the Warehouse GB. The Warehouse GB provided a better blues grit and a better classic rock drive with both a Les Paul and a Strat. The Traynor YCV 20 is only 15 watts, but has 2 channels plus a boost. Good for small gigs. This speaker will get muddy with too much drive, so a tube screamer is fine, but heavier distortion pedals are probably too much for this puppy. So, if your looking to get that vintage break-up out of a less expensive combination, this is a good choice. I did re-tube the amp with Tungsol pre-amp tubes and Electro Harmonix NOS power tubes. I replaced the stock Celestion 70/80 Speaker in my Traynor YCV40 which sounded pretty good. I've had that amp for many years and never changed it until now. Clean channel with a Lovepedal COT set low and a Dalelectro Cool Cat Drive. I watched a lot of youtube videos before I bought the Veteran 30. This is supposed to be a knock-off of the Celestion Vintage 30 which has a very pronounced midrange. The Veteran 30 seemed to have a more blanced EQ than the Vintage 30. More lows and not so shrill highs. The 70/80 has a bit of a fizzy quality in the upper frequencies. However, I did a close mike A/B recording of both the 70/80 and the Veteran 30 and was a bit disappointed with the results. The Veteran 30 sounded too dark, like a blanket was thrown over the amp. Just playing through the amp, it sounds much better with the Veteran 30. Less fizziness and tighter lows but nice midrange and punchier than the 70/80. Tip: If you don't like the sound of your amp, and before you invest in new tubes or speakers, turn down the highs and lows and boost the mids. Throughout the 40 years I've been playing, this is probably the most important thing one can do to improve tone. I've had many players compliment my tone and say they have the same amp but mine sounds better. I tell them to do this and one for one, they come back saying they love the sound of their amp now. If you listen closely to the guitar in recordings of all the great rock players, you will hear this midrange hump. This is counter-intuitive to most green players. The cut mids and boosted bass and treble frequencies sound pleasant. However, guitar is a midrange instrument. Those narly and seemingly offensive mids give the guitar it's character and help cut through the mix. You may find you don't even need to change the speaker in many cases if you tweak the eq on your amp this way.Funkyjones

Was very skeptical. Speaker under fifty ….can it actually sound decent. Yes, it does!! Great deal. Loaded in a 2×12 with a Chinese V30…can't tell the difference. Think I'll buy 2 more for another 2×12.Chad

I busted my Celestion Hot 100 speaker so I needed a quick fix in my main 12'' speaker cabinet (a gutted Marshall Haze). I have always been a fan of Mike Matthews' Electro Harmonix products and when I saw the price I went for it since it was so cheap. I have been breaking it in for a week now ( although it sounded decent out of the box) and have used a Randall RX120RH 120 watt solid state( which is my main gig head ( it took any and every pedal I threw at it ) , a cranked 12 watt Fender Princeton, straight guitar to amp, (Townsend for days) and a Marshall 50 watt (great sound with pedals and clean) All of this was done at low to mid volume (Randall and Marshall volumes no higher than 3) which would be loud enough for any small or medium club ). I am not sure how it would handle really high volumes ….BUT it sounds better than the Celestion which had a low end boom or whoosh at times on low notes. I am very happy with the results I achieved and still endorse EHX.B.L.

Carvin BelAir, 50 watt Twin. Had been trying diff American voiced speakers – all too shrill. Piercing highs, especially with a Tele which is what I play. Someone said to try vintage 30s or some such. Got these for cheap and am really surprised. These sound pretty great! Tamed the shrill, and really evened out the tone. Lost a little low end thump, but more than a fair trade. Overall the speakers seem ok, heavy magnet assembly but the frame seems thin and cheap compared to other speakers I owned. Will it bend over time and pinch the voice coil? Who knows? One thing to consider is the single set of tabs, rather than the usual doubles, so you will need to solder the wires on unless you get a set of double male/single female adapters. Overall these work well in this amp. They did not work well in a twin cab I have, they sounded bad there. Sometimes speakers are specific to the application an ymmv.Raul

I've been through many, many 12s for Blackface style speakers. These are my faves. For good 60s tones in country and rock with a BF amp these guys work great. Take pedals well. Not shrill or muddy in my experience. Solid surfy bass. Smooth treble. 120 watts which is triple what I would ever throw at em. For a Deluxe or a Pro in a honkytonk bar, these are just the ticket.edol9871

For me the tones of these are somewhere in between American and British. I use these mainly in a 2×10 cab for a fender vibroverb style amp. Vs the Oxford speakers these have a lil more mid focus and rounded highs that work much better with higher gain tones. I also use these with my Marshall origin 50 set relatively clean to get a slightly bigger bottom end than V30s.RockinJohnson

I bought this speaker in the 16ohm version to replace a v30 in my orange ppc1x12. I love the v30 but I mainly use a 100w Marshall DSL100HR and the v30 by itself couldn't handle all that wattage since it's only 60watts. So I decided to go with the swamp thang cause a little more defined low end sounded like a good idea as I play a 7 string ltd (fishman fluence pups) half the time. But I was worried I would loose the highs that we need for attack in high gain situations as well as playing clean which I do very often also. But now that I've played tgrough this speaker I can say that is not a problem whatsoever. This speaker has twice the highs and twice the lows as my v30. Probably a little less midrange but since it's such a powerful speaker it doesn't feel like it's relying on mids the cut through. Full disclosure I've only had the speaker a few hours and played through it a little over an hour but if it sounds this good outta the box I'm confident things will only get better. It's a great sounding speaker in my opinion that would complement any style/set up. I plan on buying an empty Luke 2x12C cab from seismic audio soon so i can pair the ST and the v30 which im lookong forward to. But in the meantime im in no huge hurry since the ST sounds so good by itself.Michael I.
