Overall: This thing is great. I have been searching for the right pedal to use with my electric violin that is versatile and gives me strange sounds if I need them. This pedal does it all. I use it with a light rock acoustic type band, a gypsy lounge jazz group (from originals to Kashmir by Zep), and an electronic project that I am working on. Its sturdy (I dropped it a couple times) easy to program with almost an infinite amount of possibilities. Totally worth the price! My next pedal of any sort will be an electro harmonix.PS – when I used the Cathedral Pipe Organ with the mandolin it freaked my family right out. Because the kids are older, rarely do they peek in anymore to see what I'm up to. The Pipe Organ did it. So cool. First, I love this pedal. As a keyboardist, organist & guitarist, from the moment I plugged this in and from the first notes, I fell in love with the sonic possibilities of the multi-octave generators right from the start. After all, that's how the organ can grow to such a monstrous cacophony of tones: simply by stacking octaves. But this pedal goes further by allowing you to set the level for each particular octave. Amazing concept. The attack delay, LPF & detune, and their button controls, also round this pedal out as a fantastic tone shaping tool. Simply put, it is an amazing sounding pedal. Polyphonic tracking is dead on, sans audio glitches (except for that with my noise gate, below). The eight preset slots at first don't seem like enough memory for all the different settings this pedal can handle, but the more I use it, the more that eight become more than enough. Very intuitive. The only sonic downside I noticed was when I had this pedal installed after my preamp and Silencer noise gate, the gate seems to mess with the polyphonic tracking of the POG; this was quickly remedied by placing the POG first in the signal chain before the gate. This is a bit on the pricy side for an EHX pedal, but if you have the cash, it is well worth the money for everything it can do. You will love how it makes your guitar sound.JOHN
Primarily bought this unit to substitute for a bass in home recording. Set all the other octaves and the original signal to zero and the -1 octave to full. With my Strat played through my Fender Rumble 150 the bass sound is ideal for home recording. Not suggesting it would replace a bass at live gigs, although it could possibly in a pinch. With the +1 octave at maximum and the original signal at 3/4 and the others all at zero it emulates a twelve string within limits. By that I mean if you use a jangley strum style and emphasize the third and fourth strings you can get a near twelve string sound. The other settings result in some interesting sounds but nothing I have yet found a practical purpose for. It is a bit pricey but appears to be well built and durable. I said it was mostly what I hoped for because it did exactly as I had hoped as a bass substitute but I was hoping for a more realistic twelve string sound.PMc

This pedal manages to deliver in every application. Vintage mode is my favorite, and the tracking is excellent (but also delightfully glitchy as was the OC-2). Poly mode with the adjustable lower octave is very useful as well. Unlike other octave pedals this thing sounds incredibly fat, with a nice mid-heavy octave sound that really cuts through a mix. Still doing some tweaking since I've only had it a week. The tracking it pretty amazing and the option to dial in how many strings you want to have affected in the Poly mode is a great addition to it's multiple options. I`m using this effect on bass just to have another trick in the bag, to me it sounds better on the D & G strings. It doesn`t come with a power supply and it is very picky about it. I`m using it with rechargeable 9 V batteries in order to avoid another cable on the floor and it will last me for about 10 hours. With batteries pay attention to the LED, the moment you see it dim replace the battery or it will stop sounding in no time.If that happen performing, you can remove the output cable and plug it into the "direct out" jack until you can replace the battery. And yes, it will drain out the battery if you have the cable connected to the pedal even if the pedal is "off" that`s why I replace the battery before a performance or practice with the band.Or you can use a power supply and avoid all this.Made in Malaysia. I can get this pedal to do three things: a very subtle reverb that adds a touch of space, a room-like reverb, and a super long-tailed ambient reverb that's so expansive it almost sounds like it's mixed with delay. There are other reverb pedals for a bit more money that have more options built into them-spring, plate, hall, room, shimmer, modulated reverb, and so on. With this pedal I find it difficult to switch between the different sounds since it's a lot of knob fiddling. It does sound absolutely killer, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but I don't recommend it if you want to easily switch between different types of reverb. For me it will be more of a "set and forget" pedal for long ambient reverbs.Andrew
I was recently using one pedal board for all my guitars, and the chorus I had was mainly designed for use with acoustic guitar. Now I'm rearranging things to have one board just for my electric guitars and all I needed was a basic chorus pedal of quality build and tone. I knew from reviews the JHS 3 series was perfect for me. I've been playing for 57 years and have owned pedals in the $100 to $500 range to provide my chorus effects. No matter if I had mulitple options in some stomp boxes I usually settled on a good subtle setting, so I knew there was no need for me to get anything fancier than the JHS. I admit that I'm fairly new to fuzz & octave fx. I've had a hard time finding and Octavia that works with a variety of guitars and pickup combos. I plugged this in, set everything at "noon" and played. It immediately responded with a useable tone. With minimal tweaking, I found a tone that worked on both my clean channel and on my dirty channel. It responds nicely to singles & p90's, and I only have to touch the volume on my LP to get a good tone. The bridge pickup offers a nice filtered, clipping fuzz tone, and when you use a neck pickup inside the 12th fret, it absolutely sings. I'm selling my Hoof Reaper.Poontwang77

As a bass player in a fusion band playing in a small bar weekly, I find myself getting buried in the sound during my soloing. Chances are you need this for bass tones in the poly mode.. sounds great on some things, and not so much on others. The bass frequency sounds a bit artificial. You'll find that it also degrades the output volume of your signal as well, so a boost or eq pedal is a nice addition with it, it seems. I did use this in a Bose house surround system and it sounded absolutely stunning. A nice addition on the right song.William
Great pedal with the polyphonic mode and ability to limit the range of effect enabled only low note on the guitar to be taken to the lower octave. Great to have your own bass player under your thumb on the low strings. Highly recommended for solo players wanting to expand their tones into the lower octaves with good tracking of the original signal. The Boss OC-3 Super Octave is a fantastic guitar pedal for creating unique/different/interesting lead tones. I personally like mine set Level 04:00, Oct Level 1 03:00, Oct Level 2 (dimed) full on, and mode set to Drive. This works with my Gibson Les Paul Standard to achieve that Led Zepplin/Jimmy Page "Fool in the Rain" solo tone. If you are looking for a different sound this is a good choice. The OC-3 is capable of so much more too. Boss pedals really are the best. I have been playing guitar for over 34 years and have been through tons of gear. Boss pedals sound great, are reliable, and are easy to replace especially if you travel as every music store carries them. Please remember this is just my opinion as sound is very subjective.

Overall: I have become an even bigger fan of Slash since his work with Myles Kennedy. I feel like he is one of the most melodic rock leads out there at the moment (just my opinion).I was really surprised by how much I actually like this pedal. I got this pedal because I’m a slash fan, this pedal is great at getting close to the lead tones for solos on paradise city. It is also just a great octa fuzz to cover all needs. I heard the demos online and liked the tones. I tried it at the store, played around for about 5 minutes, liked it and bought it. At home, i plugged it in and fell in love. I have a POG pedal which I love. I run one of my distortion/od/fuzz pedals into it and love the sounds. I thought the slash fuzz would be similar, but it has a totally unique sound. By playing with the fuzz,tone,octave up and octave down knobs, you can really get some cool, fun tones. I write original music, so was instantly inspired to write some cool riffs. Leads sound great too. It's got some interesting characteristics. For example, when you turn down the volume on your guitar, it doesn't seem to trigger the octaves as much. But, when you turn it up and bang on it, it gets fat. I love that about it. It's like it has personality and is moody. The pog + od has a metallic, chimy sound at lower volumes. This one doesn't. You can strum a chord lightly and it will sound somewhat clean. Then you hit it hard and it summons octave goodness. I also experimented with turning the "Sub octave into fuzz" off and hitting one of my dist/od/fuzz pedals. Even more tone options. The "Up" button is cool cause you turn on/off the upper octave. This is killer for some sonic variation within a song or to switch to a solo. I'll definitely be adding this sound to my stuff.

There are a lot of full-featured reverb pedals on the market today, most of them with some sort of shimmer/octave/pitch-shifting mode. A few things set this pedal apart from its counterparts. First off is just the amount of control you get over the processed signal. Being able to mix the signal heading into the reverb circuit, the reverb unit itself, and then the final blend, lets you get sounds that are just not possible on 4-knob units. Everything from subtle to watery to full-on church-organ psychedelia. Next, you get three memory banks to save your creations. You could use Red for no-frills reverb, blue for slight modulation, and red for the crazy stuff. Or just save different flavors of crazy stuff in all three, it's up to you. If you're looking for a killer octave pedal in a small enclosure, it doesn't get any better than this! The tracking is top notch and the feature set includes everything you want, but nothing that you don't need. I was able to quickly dial in great tones on both my active & passive basses — the clean blend knob & mids button are extremely helpful in terms of compensating for different bass pickups. Nothing will top the Foxrox Octron2 on my big board, but for a compact board this bests all of the small octave pedals I've tried (Boss, EBS, Original MXR, Aguilar). It would have been helpful to have included the level trimmer on the exterior of the pedal (in the form of a 4th knob); additionally, I would have preferred that Dunlop spare the wall wart adapter & drop the price somewhat, since the vast majority of users will utilize a micro pedal like this on a powered board. Does exactly what it claims to. The upper fifth and octave sounds a bit synth-like when played clean, but when fed through an overdrive definately delivers the desired effect of a crazy, beefy sound. However, if playing clean and accompanying a distorted guitar, the octave up helps to solidify harmony lines without the synth sound being too noticeable at all. I'm a metal guy at heart, so when I finally put the Metal Zone away and started building a grownup pedal board, a Tube Screamer was high on my list. I was particularly interested in this unit because of the size, since my beginner board probably isn't going to be very big. I plugged this little guy into my regular setup and was immediately blown away. If you've played some metal you know the setup: straight into a high gain amp, drive at 0, level at 10, and tone dialed in to taste. It made my Orange Micro Dark Terror, digital Bias FX rig, and even my sad old Marshall solid state roar, but in a much more defined way that never felt flabby or uncontrollable. I would recommend pairing it with a decent noise gate to trim down the hum, but that's just what electric guitars do when you crank the gain, and not a flaw of this pedal in particular. Okay, sure, it can do metal. I've also run this unit through a bunch of other setups and contexts. Through my Orange I definitely got very usable blues and classic rock tones by pulling the gain and volume back on the amp, and setting everything on the pedal around half way. I can even see potentially using it with the drive all the way up as a lead boost or to slightly break up a clean tone. This little thing is a beast for sure, and is pretty much perfect for my uses. It's not a transform your amp kind of effect, it's meant to compliment what your existing equipment already does. It has some specific things it does well, and it *really* nails them. #sweepstakesDan
Stop what you're doing right now. RIGHT NOW, and get this pedal. This tiny little monster sounds incredible and I am kicking myself for not trying any kind of Tube Screamer for my 20+ years of playing guitar. This literally sounds like a tube amp in a box. You can dial in the perfect amount of boost or drive without really impacting your guitar's true tone. If you push it all the way, it's almost in distortion territory, yet it retains warmth and picking dynamics…on the other hand it compresses nicely – like a tube amp. How does it do that? It's magic. I got this mini version because I'm building a mini pedal board, so it fits perfectly. Don't let the size fool you though, because it sounds incredible. The only drawback is that it needs an external power supply. Oh, and as an added bonus, this is made in Japan, and it shows. The switches, knobs, and inputs feel very high-quality. I collect Tube Screamers, and decided to get this for the collection. Soundwise, it works as a TS808; great transparent overdrive for stand-alone use but excels at boosting gain on an overdriven amp. Not as harsh or "dark" as a TS9, and a decent price. Definitely a TS to consider if you're trying to save some money; you definitely won't be missing out on the sound of the TS808. Also great if you want to add a Tube Screamer to a board, but need to save space. The only negative I can say is the Level and Tone knobs are difficult to see for settings, but that's true with most mini pedals. It doesn't take a battery, but there again, neither do most mini pedals. Construction is more solid than the Mooer Green Mile, and the TSMini is made in Japan (thought for sure it was Chinese). The price is great on these, but I'd also consider checking out the East River Overdrive by EHX; my current favorite Tube Screamer clone. As far as the Ibanez Tube Screamer line-up, this is seemingly the best value.Dave

I should start by telling you all that i play modern metal, not classic rock or anything close. I bought this pedal a few years back hoping to squash out the hiss in my amp due to my use of an overdrive in front of the amp.I used it in front of my amp with a ts9 in its little effects loop. it was very difficult to get the start-stop quick djent style stuff i wanted without a feedback remnant always cutting in. also, there was a noticable amount of cut on any palm-muted notes and really any note played would not sustain naturally. any setting on the decay would not help. but, i had to have the threshold up pretty high to knock out the hiss. you must also know that i am using a horrific amount of gain with a 6505+. I have the post gain maxed out and most other things maxed out as well.After much research and saving, i invested in the isp decimater g-string. this product was on a whole other level. the things that the ns-2 lacked this thing just has. It senses when you are playing, instead of opening a gate when you play loud enough. Even with my extreme gain settings, overdrive in front, booster in the effects loop, and volume all the way up on my guitar, i can start-stop all day long just like periphery and animals as leaders. plus, my palm muted notes fade naturally as do normally fretted notes. Another thing i have recently learned is that the ns-2 manufacturing process uses lead free solder, whereas the ns-1 has lead based solder. This resulted in a big difference in signal integrity, and is very evident if you leave the pedal on bypass and play something, then removeit from the chain, and play something. it darkens the tone alot. In conclusion, if you want play the new styles of metal with all the gain and start-stop, buy the isp decimater g-string or pro rack g.MTloveit

I mated mine with a BOSS LS-2 Line Selector pedal at the start of my pedal chain so every pedal is covered by it. It allows instant quiet after quick aggressive picking starts and stops while using heavy distortion. It's a "Fire and Forget" pedal for the most part if your running the same gear regularly. Sound: OK, so the pre-set programs are hit and miss for me. But that had to be expected, as I am not plugging a guitar into it, but rather a Korg RK100-S2 keytar. For obvious reasons, the cleaner patches, and patches designed around arpeggios sound decent, while the shredding metal patches sound like ass. I'm sure they would both sound good if I was hooked up with an actual 6 string. Features: The most useful feature as far as I'm concerned, are all of those knobs all over the front of the unit. They make it so easy to dial in the sound. Especially when compared to the all digital products like the GT-1. I had a GT-1B last year, and it was aggravating to modify sounds on the fly. The other most useful feature is the Tone Central app. OMG!!! Last month, I trashed Korg's design decision in their app for modifying the keytar's sounds. The window can't be resized, the lines of text are nearly microscopic, it isn't REMOTELY intuitive to figure out how to re-write the patches. Boss' Tone Central app is the EXACT OPPOSITE of all of that. Full screen, each effect section is on screen alone and has 3 different ways to modify the settings. Get things the way you want, name your patch, and click "write," then choose where you want it saved, and click "OK." It couldn't be simpler. Ease of Use: If the preset patches are hit and miss, the "manual mode" is why I bought this board. The keytar really needs some effects to come alive. This board is simply a placeholder until I can build a quality keytar/synth specific pedal board. Compression, delay, and/or phasers can add a lot of depth to my sound depending on what I'm currently using. Those dials make it super easy to get the sound right quickly. It does sort of suck that they are on the floor, but how could that have been avoided without bluetooth and a phone app? And, if that was the case, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place! Quality: I bought this "blemished." My guess, based on the condition of the box that the factory shipped to zZounds, is that this took a fall off of a shelf in the warehouse. One end of the box was mangled badly! Thanks to Boss' attention to detail in packaging, and legendary build quality, I got this product without a scuff, scratch, or dent for 20% off. I like that build quality. (Feel free to play football with some of those synth specific stomp boxes guys! *wink-wink*) Value: Before my fretting hand got too badly damaged to play bass anymore, I wanted the bass version of this product. I believe that it was discontinued, and I missed my chance. I got the GT-1B but didn't like working with it. When I saw that this was available, I didn't hesitate to put it into my cart. Only then, after the fact, did I realize that it was in "blemished" condition. I almost went back and put a new, full priced one in my cart simply because I didn't want the hassle of potentially returning a broken product. So, yes, I do believe this is worth the normal retail price. Manufacturer Support: In the 12 years I've been playing, I've owned several Boss products from tuners to metronomes to multi effects pedals and I have NEVER had to reach out for support. In my estimation, that's the BEST form of customer service! The Wow Factor: G.A.S.! I can't play guitar a lick. But I've bought guitars in the past simply to hang them on the wall. I can't say that I would ever buy THIS product if I didn't need it. But I'm sure that it will still find some place in my home studio, even after the actual pedal board is complete Overall: An easy recommendation for the guitarist on a budget. Depending on one's needs, stomp boxes and pedal boards can become quite pricey. Between this, the Tone Central app, and the hundreds of additional patches available there, if you can't get the sound you're looking for, the problem lies mostly with you.
I have been buying and selling multi effects for many years. I loved them all, even the silly ones such as the RP50, 505, ME30..too many. I guess my favorites were the Korg AX3000G(which I thought was ahead of its time) and the Digitech RP500(awesome reverbs, mods and filters),and even some Pods for their amp sims too. Yes yes.. they all had their short comings in different avenues.. Boss reliability is were a part of Ny early playing days since the 80s..and to this day, I use Boss single pedals almost exclusively as my main rig. I just love the simplicity of their individual pedals and this unit is the only one that comes close in terms of the logic of its settings. I love KNOBS, and the ME80 has plenty to go around with. SIMPLICITY is the key . No more scrolling up n down a screen on the floor which I can hardly see. Now is the ME80 the best sounding multi-effect out there? No sir! With all the current technologies which can produce units such as The Kemper, Fractals, Boss GT1000, and other high res IR capable units from Zoom and Line 6(including some very capable Chinese newcomers), the ME80 can be seen as kind of outdated to some, The ME80 is certainly not what the top guns use these days, especially when occupying an arena concert stages I'm sure(but I bet they still use one or two boss pedals in their rig lol)..Also, Let's not forget that the ME80 initial introduction day to the world was just about eight years ago.. shall we? But guess what, it's still alive and kicking! And that is exactly why you still see it here for sake in 2022 ar least until Boss comes out with some new monster that can handle the GT1000 chipsets and adding more KNOBS to its chassis. The ME80 is gorgeous, it sounds good, and it has a personality. It also has more to offer than its predecessors such as the ME50/70..I mean, the addition of a separate footswitch for reverb,EQ and a simple patch recall?? I would recommend this unit for any small club or a tight rehearsal space for a quick setup and a speedy wrap-up after a show, when it's finally time to go home, no patch cables required.I AM KEEPING THIS ONE FOR MYSELF! I don't want to program guitar effects. I don't want to read cheesy names for effects that I can't immediately recognize or understand. The young people like that stuff but I am old and old school. The ME-80 gives me my old stomp boxes but grouped on a modern platform. It is basically foot pedal controlled with a very nice expression pedal and 8 on-off pedals. The foot pedals work flawlessly. But the thing that makes this unit awesome is the knobs. You can turn a knob, set a value and get instant feedback on what you did and look at it anytime to see what it is set at. If you know stomp boxes then you know exactly how this thing works. It has by my estimation about $4K worth of stomp box effects and amp emulations. Whether you want an old Tube Screamer or a Big Muff Fuzz. This thing has it. And it has many new stomp box effects like the amazing Tera Echo, Harmonist, Freeze and a Looper. It has just about every effect you could want and you can play multiple effects at the same time. As far as I am concerned this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. And I am an original POD user. I still plug into the POD now and then. But the POD is history. The ME-80 is what I like today. I even commissioned a guy to build me an angled stand to boost up the knobs and pedal to make it easier for me to dial in changes. I had it painted orange to match my Orange Crush 35RT amp where I port the ME-80 output. Lastly, if you insist on being a programmer, they let you do that as well and offer a ton of presets online. You can hook up by USB to your computer and program away. Brilliant. The one down side… you have to buy an AC/DC adaptor for $30 or use up a lot of batteries. Overall: I've been playing through a Headrush gigboard and needed something different that was just as easy to use, had plenty of tones that were inspiring, that didn't cost as much. I've owned a few Line 6 products over the 30 years of playing music and decided to buy the Pod Go. So worth it! The tones were better than expected, and if you can't afford the Helix series, this is the best choice for a floor unit under $500. The built in expression pedal with toe switch is perfect. You can switch between volume and wah wah or other parameters just by pressing the toe switch in the expression pedal. Basically you don't have to have another expression pedal. The built in pedal can do what you need. I am not tech savvy, I bought the Headrush gigboard last year because of how easy it is to use. I didn't think a floor unit could be. Then comes the Pod Go. It's actually much easier to use than the Headrush. Granted the two have different features but I found making your own sounds easier with the Pod Go. It seems I make them in a shorter time. The color display along with color footswitches make organizing sounds easier than making coffee. If you need a floor unit under 500 the Pod Go is the best choice on the market. If you're a metal head or a traditional Jazz player or love the complexity of Fusion, the Pod Go has your sound.
I was looking at purchasing a Helix LT and upon researching I came across the Pod Go Wireless. It does everything I required from the Helix but at less than half the price, size and weight. You can dial in some great tones, I use it through an 80w Marshall combi straight into the FX return (turning off the cab sim on the Pod) and it sounds very impressive. The amount of effects to choose from is incredible and you can tweak so many variables to get that perfect tone. The wah treadle is very good but it’s not so great when used as a volume pedal as it doesn’t seem to gradually increase/decrease the volume, it’s almost on/off. The wireless feature is very good, I’ve not had any connection issues and don’t have to worry about treading on my cable, which I’m very prone to. Overall, for what I need in a jamming/garage band capacity it is perfect and I’m very, very pleased with the purchase. PMT delivered the next day, it was very well packaged and was the best price I found on the internet.Martin M.
Overall: I wish I could say something positive about this unit. Although it does have some great sounds and features, the fact that it is constantly having to be rebooted because it freezes up or shuts down on its own make it pretty much worthless (Yes I’ve done all the updates and other futile suggestions from the support folks at line 6). Add to that a power supply that is a complete piece of crap. It’s cheap, fragile and generally a bad design. It is almost impossible to find a replacement because line 6 wanted it that way. Simply using a Standard, generic replacement (9v 2500 mA) Is tricky and not guaranteed to work. My review for this product: Look for something else better from a company who is not obsessed with nickel and diming their customers to death over some ridiculous accessory.

Uniquely compact unit with such sophisicated vocal harmonising quality and variations in keys. I love this piece of equipment because it enhances my solo performance to a greater live producion. I perform solo at nursing homes and senior citizen events. I usually do an hour, sometimes up to an hour and a half, in small to medium size rooms. My voice is kind of thin on its own. The VE-2 improves it a lot. It's not perfect but it helps me a lot. I I use a touch of reverb at all times, and vary the harmonies from song to song (and within a song by switching them on/off). The controls are small (of course — it's a small unit) but I found it easy to use. The battery life is great. Practicing at home for a half-hour a day, the batteries last for a couple weeks. I use rechargeables; I don't know if regulars would be longer or shorter. It's not cheap but it's in the range of competitors' comparable units. Well worth the money to me.Jim
I lead worship services on guitar and have 20 years as a professional classical singer. Because I occasionally lead a service by myself, I thought this might be a useful tool for adding some richness to a song. I found on simple, single-key pieces, it chose well about 85% of the time, which is probably fine. If the piece was more complicated, it would often scramble and choose a sour note, or just struggle to stay in tune, singing the minor third in a major triad, for example. It also seems to think singing the flat seventh of any chord is a reasonable choice, and sometimes it isn't. If you're a singer-songwriter doing mostly three- and four-chord songs where it's more about the writing than anything else, this could be a very cool piece of equipment in your arsenal. If you're looking for spot-on perfection in performance, this isn't worth it. You won't be happy and it won't do what you want it to do. If you're considering using this in a band context, stop considering that immediately :). The natural differences between tuning for multiple instruments will just make any mistake the box makes harsher and will ruin whatever you're trying to do. That said, there's probably a performance art piece or experimental use for it by plugging in an electric guitar but not amping it and telling the box you're singing one thing, then having it try to harmonize with you. This is a new tentacle from earthquaker devices. the tentacle is the very same classic octave effect from the beloved hoof reaper pedal in a stand-alone unit. it can be paired with a overdriven amp, fuzz, overdrive, or and pedal of your choice to create a wide variety of new sounds. it has no adjustable controls, just simply on and off. the v2 of the pedal now has earthquaker flexiswitch technology. this relay-based, true bypass switching style allows you to simultaneously use momentary and latching style switching. for standard latching operation, tap the footswitch once to activate the effect and then tap again to bypass. for momentary operation, hold the footswitch down for as long as you'd like to use the effect. once you release the switch the effect will be bypassed.

I am an analog octave up (AOU) fiend. So when the this pedal came out, I had to try it. I tested it against a Green Ringer clone. Unfortunately, the Tentacle has an inherently harsh quality. You really have to adjust your rig's EQ to remove its ice pick sound. Other AOU pedals have a softer quality to them. While this pedal, with a fuzz, is bearable, I judge an AOU as a stand alone effect. Decent Green Ringer clones give more warmth, musicality, and overall practical use at about half the price.Sidewalk Sally
I matched it with my favorite fuzz and I was in business!!! It's very good at letting my amps tone to shine through.Eric
