I tried things like trumpet value oil and basic type lubricants (that everyone knows about) but they only worked VERY temporarily. Why did I? Because this product is expensive, and admittedly, I'm a big cheep skate. Fellow guitarists…it's not worth the cheep oils to keep your guitar in tune. I watched a guy using his SG after using nut sauce on the nut and saddles and he was going crazy with his Gibson Vibrola which are notoriously bad for staying in tune. So, I did the same on mine and it would not go out of tune! Just pay the extra money. It's worth every penny, guys. SOLD!!Scotty
I bought this primarily to alleviate some string binding issues on a couple of guitars but its use is not limited to that. It can also be used as a lubricant e.g. on bridge saddles. I have not used it for any length of time so its difficult to tell how effective it will be in the long run. It seems to have helped with the string binding for now anyway. Long term users have been positive so I have no reason to doubt its effectiveness. It's a very small 'syringe' but a very small quantity is all that is needed when applying it to nut slots. Value is a subjective issue, particularly with imported products, but, on balance, I would say it does the job well and will probably last a couple of years.tricky654
Recently bought a new guitar with a tremolo system on it. Took it to my luthier, and had it "set up" and changed my string gauges to a heavier diameter, etc. On stage, no matter what I did, could not keep the new guitar in tune. Tried everything I knew how to do; restrung the guitar, filed and even re-cut the nut, took it back to the luthier, etc. It was better – but every time – I even looked at the tremolo bar – the G and low E would stick a bit, resulting in being out of tune. I was recently stranded when my car's remote key fob stopped functioning (not the battery in it). I keep the actual key handy; however, it had been so long since I'd actually used it that the locks had frozen. AAA was suggesting a 4 hr. window for showing up, and the nearest car dealership where I could purchase a new remote would have been closed by then. I'm lucky in that the lock-out happened not on a remote road but at a shopping mall. I figured I was in luck when I saw Harbor Freight's sign. Sure enough, they had this silicone spray, and it worked immediately. Fortunately, I did not listen to the salesperson who thought your store didn't carry it. The only negative is the size of the can. I think this would be handy to carry with me for just such emergencies if it were a small size. I have been using silicone spray for years now produced by many different manufacturers. WD-40 is a brand that you can trust. Very nice that I can now pick up a can as needed at HF while I am there picking up other needed items as well as items I don't need. Silicone spray has a variety of uses. If it sticks, a little spray goes a long way. Excellent on window tracks, door latches, hinges, etc.. Safe for plastic, rubber and vinyl. As a lover of the "Classic" WD40, as most of you are, I was using it for everything, for rusted bolts, water repellant on car electrics, and protection against sea spray. I was searching for high quality and affordable lubrication for my Hasselblad 553ELX camera gears, then I came across this super lube. I recently dismantled my table saw, It wasn't cutting straight. It's a Hercules saw from HF, I used Super Lube grease on the trunion. That is where my problem was. Whenever I tried to tilt the blade, it would stick and eventually go out of alignment. The trunion is cradled to the underside of the table with plastic fittings. They dried up and began to stick. I used Super lube on those plastic fittings and I was able to adjust the blade. It cuts super straight and when I need to tilt the blade, it is smooth as silk.Roc

I used it on motorcycle clutch and brake levers, go good first wash or rain. Used it on a sliding latch. No good after first time water gets in. Worked OK in ratchets to lube. I've been using Fingerease for many years. It works great, as advertised… When used correctly, quiets string chatter, definitely speeds my playing, prolongs string life, helps keep calluses just moist enough so they don't dry and peel off, prevents the long day/gig finger tip pain, makes slides effortless. Works great at outdoor gigs when humidity or sweat cause finger and hand to neck drag. Surprisingly, does not cause your fingers to slip off the string while doing bends. This review in which I have observed and feel may not be persuaded to others, but this is not my intention in doing at all. So I want to clarify that it is an ok use for but for some critique reasons. First off, I am still a fan of this product to this day, and yes I have use this quite often. BUT, there are some few things you have to be aware of when you buy this. Most of the times when I change strings it's because they feel stiff and I have no I idea why they keep feeling stiff most of the time, until I come to realize it's the finger ease that's being in use. Here is my tip on buying a product. "ALWAYS READ WHAT'S ON THE BACK!" and yes, I have to learn this the hard way. The 1st line of the 1st paragraph is the crucial evident you have to think about, in which the part is read, "Reduces finger tenderness-stops string talk…" To me, that would mean that it will stiffen the strings to the point where there will be little or no string talk, in which case, you'll be sacrificing string bending. Many songs that are played are highly used for bending strings and such, but if you don't do strings bending at all, you wouldn't care much at all then. Also, this takes away you callous from your fingers! "…residue transfers from strings to fingers and conditions callouses, keeping soft and smooth without snags." I don't know if I am interpreting correctly, but YOU NEED TO HAVE HARD CALLOUSED FINGERS TO PLAY GUITAR OR ANY OTHER STRING INSTRUMENT! I think that this is good for nylon strings but not steel strings at all… I replaced my old elixirs nanoweb .009 over dunlop .009 and it was very good at first when I played to stretch out the strings, but after when I applied the finger ease to the strings, it just started to sound and feel really different. Now, many of you who may read this read this review will not agree with me maybe because most of you have better experience with the this more than me; But this is my experience with the product which is the reason why I'm giving this a 3 stars. It is not a good product, but it is not bad either. For now, this product will be my last can when I finish it. Until the manufacturer improves this product, I will buy it once again. By the way, the guitar that I put my strings on is a Charvel DST-FR1 which is similar to the LTD/ESP Gus-g Random star.

This is a great product for frozen fittings, especially iron. The key is patience. Brush off surface rust. Spray liberally. Gently tap the fitting with a hammer then wait. Spray again, tap again, and wait. Try to separate parts. If no joy, repeat spray/tapping. It may take a while, but I have yet to find a drum trap or or pipe fitting I could not break using this method. This seems like a lot of bother and it is, but it beats extensive demolition or risking applying heat in close quarters.William
I've been using this product for years to help break rusty nuts/bolts/etc loose. If you drench the problem item (preferably from multiple sides) and wait a few minutes, this will probably solve the problem 90+% of the time. The only negative is that it smells pretty weird, so you might want to wear some nitrile gloves. Still 5 stars though-you're getting grimy anyway, what's a little weird smell?Jon
Had some spark plugs that were still in from the factory at 185K miles. I was worried that they were going to twist off like a PBR bottle cap in the Ford head, so I shook up a can of BP Blaster like a baby that wouldn't shut up and filled the holes to the rim with frothy lube. Waited a cool 20 minutes and the plugs came out faster than a straight man at a Nickleback concert.Ken

I use Tri-Flow when working (playing) with old sewing machines. Have heard is a favorite with Bike enthusiasts as well. The squeeze bottle with the long applicator tube works well for getting just the right amount where it is needed. Does not gum up or leave a film like WD40. When facilitating a sewing machine cleaning seminar, include one of these in the kit with other supplies. One bottle should be enough for most users, but getting in this quantity at this price allows me to share with participants. Shake well before using!murf49
Tri Flow is awsome stuff. Guy at the Hdwr store turned me onto it in the spray can. Spray Teflon. I like these little bottles, as I put a couple of drops on my vending machine locks and they turn very easily, lots of less wear and tear on the key and lock and my hand, wrist, elbow, arm. Don't seem to attract dust like oils do which is a problem in my locks. Might be the be lubricant I have ever found.mcsemiked

ARP recommends that all torque applied to engine fasteners is done with lube applied (wet-torque). Having no experience, I went with ARP's recommended lube. Not sure I would spend the money again, with other assembly lubricants out there, but no problems with multiple assembly and reassemblies. No coking or freezing up.EDWARD

Gets you within 5% of the required pre-load on the first pull and stays consistent with each subsequent cycle-race prep, machining, pre-assembly and final assembly. premium grade moly base with rust and corrosion inhibitors. effective lubrication range -30 to 550f, with a load range of 500,000 psi. because of frictional inconsistencies with oil, moly, and other lubricants it takes multiple cycles of torquing the bolt, loosening it, and tightening it again to obtain the required preload or stretch. typically, when a fastener is first tightened, friction is at its highest point and the preload value or stretch is low. as the fastener is cycled numerous times the friction decreases and the preload increases. this phenomenon is called "preload scatter." with this arp ultra torque assembly lubricant, a fastener need only be torqued once to get within 5 percent of ideal preload, and it remains consistent through all subsequent cycles (from race-prep machining through final assembly). moreover, given the inconsistencies of ordinary lubes, it is quite possible for adjacent head bolts or studs to have vastly different preloads. this scatter causes bore distortion, hampers piston ring seal, and leads to poor head gasket sealing.

This lets you get oil in those hard to reach places. Having it's brand name on the bottle makes it easy to identify what's inside. The child proof cap on the front makes it so easy to refill. You use up all of your oil as sometimes the cans run out of gas leaving you with a half can of oil with no way to get it out. This item is hard to find in retail and much cheaper online. Received product and was the spray bottle only! There is no WD-40 in the bottle. If you go and read the website listing, you are under the impression that you will receive a spray bottle of WD-40! If you order a can of WD-40, you don't receive an empty can! Very misleading and upsetting to say the least! Wrote a complaint to Walmart on the listing. Buyer beware… you can buy a spray bottle for $1 at the dollar store as there is nothing special about this spray bottle, except the side refill provision.James

Great product! I use the Tri-Flow grease for work in restoring vintage sewing machines. In the bottom of the 158 series Kenmore sewing machines that were made in the 60's and 70's, there is a box with a gear under the bobbin case. I like to remove the old grease and repack it with the Tri-flow grease. Works great and makes these old machines purr like new! I also use the Tri-flow oil on sewing machines. Good, good, good. Get this if you want good lubricating clean grease. Im also an advocate for Gojo natural pumice soap for the after effects to your hands for easy clean-up. Also a big shout out to CRC Electronic Cleaner to clean up anything aside from your hands that gets messy or started out messy prior to beginning the project. Works like magic with just A LITTLE spritz to make greasy or sticky things seem to disintegrate everything gunky you had building up for so long. Great for any hobby motorized stuff, for clean-up, or pre-clean of the parts you will be greasing with this product. CAUTION!! I would go light on the first application or things CAN completely lock up instantly with the complete lack of lubrication (always use CRC sparingly). Was designed to spray solder flux paste off electronic circuit boards, but cleans gears really aggressively. If youve never tried any of these products, you will thank me for the results (using sparingly). You can always hit it with a 2nd application, but you will have trouble if gears lock up.
