Selling my 60s hornet bass. this guitar has been played, and it's got tons of stories to tell. lots of cool appeal. features a lightening-fast action and a great 60s garage sound. currently strung with flatwound strings. i'm including two of the original silver dome knobs and a replacement metal headstock logo in case you want to add it yourself. the existing holes are slightly wider, so i'll leave the modification to the next owner. feel free to reach out with any questions. thanks for your interest!

Here we have an awesome vintage bass. this baby is made out of masonite and is light as a feather. it also has a shorter scale, which is easy to maneuver. the bass is not in great shape, although it is all there.there are a couple condition issues with the bass. the first obvious one being cosmetic issues. there is some heavy scratching throughout the entire bass as well as some few moderate blemishes here and there. i am sure that one of the tuners is stripped, so the bass will likely need a new set a of tuners. i would like to leave this to the new owner. the wiring still works, so it is not too much of a project. the bass will ship in a decently nice gig bag.

Lovies guitars is offering up this ampeg asb-1 devil scroll bass with a rad fireburst finish! the asb-1 was a limited production variation on the basic design of the aeb-1. they were introduced around december 1966, which is about six months after the aeb-1, and were made for about a year. the most distinctive feature is the unusual body, with two long, skinny, outward-curving horns and triangular cutouts that go all the way through the back. for obvious reasons, they've have acquired the nicknames of "devil bass" or "longhorn bass”. the devil bass was the brainchild of an ampeg employee named mike roman, who was inspired by the danelectro longhorn basses. he finally convinced everett hull to let him develop and build them as an optional model. they were doomed from the start. nobody at ampeg except mike liked them, and dealers were sending them back. customers were just beginning to accept the unusual appearance of the aeb-1, but they thought the devil bass was way too weird. the serial number on a devil bass is on the underside of the tailpiece, so you have to peer into the gap between it and the body, or unscrew it and raise it up to read it. devil basses were made randomly from late '66 through late '67, in small batches. it's interesting that some of them are beautiful, and others are poorly made. the earlier ones have a lot of red on the body, including red on the front and back faces of the horns. the bodies of early devil basses with serial numbers under #1000 are made of maple with a birch plywood back, similar to the aeb-1. this unique axe came to us from garry tallent (e street band, bruce springsteen's primary backing band), with a story of this being a gift for him from adam clayton of u2. in good shape, especially for its age, however there is some finish checks and finish chipping on the body, 7.5/10! all original. no breaks or repairs. includes an original hard-shell case! weighs in at: 9.75 lbs .865” at the 1st fret nut width: 1 11/16” serial: 906 sku: 4248 14 day money back return policy. buy with confidence. all guitars are guaranteed to arrive in described condition for full refund will be issued. all guitars are fully insured and we will deal with it. lovies guitars has cites master file and certificates will be issued when and where needed. also declaration friendly.

So i think because of the cut of wood that is on the neck, someone needs to be buying this and recarve in shape that neck to fit some thing or make something amazing. it plays and performs fine, it does have their share of dings and chips, but it does work perfectly
