Best Bass Guitar Speakers (2024 Update)

This is great for cabinets with four or more speakers. With 32 ohms wiring four in parallel bring it to a eight ohm load. Just do not use a keyboard dropped below rated feq. of about 57hz. This speakers can handle high spl's.Waldens Audio - 31934

I have a Rumble 1 x 15 cabinet. I wanted to upgrade from the Eminence-Made for Fender speaker. At the advise of an Eminence Tech I purchased the CB158. It sounds great! Clear deep tones I plan on buying a second Rumble 1 x 15 cabinet and I'll upgrade that one also! The sale price made it a great value!Chuck

You can experience quite a bit of satisfaction when a product you paid a fair amount of money for just plain works. And boy does this speaker work. The solid bass tones that come out of this baby has brought my 80s something Fender Bassman Compact back to life. I was happy all the bolt holes lined up with the pre drilled holes of the amp. The only little drawback is that it has made my amp heavier. Not a bad trade off for the quality sound that this speaker delivers.Darren

I refurbished an Ampeg 115hp bass cabinet and installed a CB158 15". The speaker provides tremendous frequency response, tight solid bottom end with crisp clean highs. I no longer use the horn in the cabinet…there is no need. I highly recommend this speaker to get the most out of a bass rig. It also pairs very well with my Ampeg PF210HE.Francis L

It�s often said you get what you pay for. In this case your getting better than what you pay for. Great sound and quality at a great prices. I definitely recommend Crunch products for a person on a budget but wanting a quality sound and product.Tywon

I can see these things really being great but unfortunately shipping from CA to FL I guess can be rough for a heavy package. One speaker ended up with a small dent which was okay. The other speaker was rattling with any low notes. So I have to exchange for another but seriously these speakers sound great and can really throw you off. No sub needed. I wanted to try my hand at building my own bass cab to complement my amp head and because I wanted a quality sound I decided to go with Eminence, since you can find them in a lot of high end bass cabs like Ampeg and Basson. I didn't buy these at first, I bought the B102's instead and was disappointed with the end product. There wasn't enough clean low-end, and, I tuned the cab too low to compensate for that and it was a muddy tone that came out of an expensive set of speakers. So a year later I tried it again, but, I bought these on sale (BP 102's) and also bought the Eminence compression driver; Horn; Cabinet ready crossover. I now have a 210 bass cab that sounds better than any cab I've ever heard. I recently purchased a new bass amp (Markbass Big Bang) and together they are a match made in BASS HEAVEN. In fact without the purchase of the new amp, I may have never written this review, I've had theses speakers for over 2 yrs. So if you need to replace a 10" driver or you want to custom build a cab, this is the best driver for the money you can buy. But remember, without a tweeter or compression driver you'll be disappointed.Jmac

Searching for something better in my current upgraded ESS AMT3's, I took a change on these after modeling them in BassBoxPro. All I can say is wow!! These speakers totally kick some tail. Clean deep, and don't loose their composure under high volumes. However the biggest thing is detail. What better to produce bass guitar/drums like a live performance then a real bass guitar speaker?!?! Luckily these go lower then most, pretty amazing for the price. I have 2 of these in the AMT3 stock, but braced enclosure. 2.76 liter. Heavily damped with 1 1/2" foam on walls, and 2 sheets of Auralux 2" wedge foam directly behind the woofers. 2x 3" ports, 6" length. That tunes the box to 36 hz. Don't be afraid to tune low, the lower the better. They still can handle a ton of power, xlimit is 10 mm. Never cam close because the bass is tight, clean and deep. Well controlled, but oh so sensitive!! Wow the detail of these woofers just blows my mind!! Nothing even comes close in normal "audio" woofers. Be aware however to cross over to the mid around 250hz, these don't do mids well. But who cares in a 3-way? A Alpha 6A, or larger mid woofer would be ideal. Enjoy while these are still a still!! Who needs expensive audio woofers that kill all the detail anyway?Mojo

I replaced the dead speaker in my old practice bass amp with this speaker and was quite surprised how good it sounded and was surprised that it was better than the original in sound quality. gave new life to that old amp and saved me the cost of new amp. I spent DAYS reading all of the specs on the various Eminence NEO speakers, and then I saw the specs on these, and they were CLOSER to what I wanted. I put two of them in a 2-12 cabinet with a Blonde Bassman Clone, and they are EXACTLY what I want. I can use them for bass, and I can use them with my heavy string Tele and Gretsch guitars. they really sound great. And the cabinet is SO LIGHT. I am going to be replacing several of my very heavy EVM's in the future with these. NO, they are not an EVM or a JBL, but they are more than ten pounds lighter each.lehm4206

Using it as a sub driver in a home made sealed cab powered by a fully reconditioned Crown DC 300A Series II in bridge mono mode. Great combo. X-over is a Dbx Drive Rack PA. This speaker can handle everything I throw at it from 40hz to 1200hz.Thomas

I put a pair of these in EV TL 806 Vented cabinets but the sound was not so good a bit hollow, empty and lacking punch. I built a 1.8 cu. ft. sealed cab and the sound was much improved smooth and punchey. I play a Rickenbacker bass that can be quite bright/ boomy on top end and these speakers handle it well.Randy

I've been using a 12 and 15 for my bass rig in small clubs, but was using an old Altec 12 that was meant for guitar. Switched to this speaker and BOOM! Much better. And much lighter! Huge improvement. Love it.GENE

I bought two of these several weeks ago to replace the very old drivers in my SWR series II 2-10 cab. Perfect fit. They have an inner seal ring that seals the speaker cutout. I think these must be direct replacements. They look identical. But sound even better. To my ears there is a bit more low end, but the midrange clarity is still there, something I missed when I tried the BP 102 in the same cab. I also tried Faital Pro 10PR300, but not nearly enough low end. The CA-10's passed the test so I purchased 2 more for the other cab. I've been waiting a long time for these. I've used them in live gigs and I'm totally happy with them. Can't beat the price, either.Bassman62

Big fan of Eminence to begin with and these speakers did not disappoint. I have a Hartke 2×10 and bought an empty Hartke 2×10 cabinet. I wanted a more traditional tone to complement the aluminum speakers. I bought the CA10's simply because they seemed to match my desired specs. After purchase I read several posts on various sites that they are NOT recommended for sealed cabinets. Well, mine are sealed and I think they sound great. Not sure what they would sound like in a ported cab but I don't really care. Yes I would recommend these speakers.GEORGE

Excellent mid-bass. I built a pair of ported high/mid cabinets, each using two of these and a high quality tweeter. Wired them up with Zobel and crossover networks. Very efficient with good power handling. Good transient response and clarity. Vocals, guiter, keyboard-piano, and things in that range really come through. Better clarity than typical high/mid cab with 12 or 15 inch woofer. Not much low bass, but not what they are designed for. Use with bottoms. Would buy again.Mike - 10766

Excellent bass guitar speaker at a reasonable price. I built a 3.9 cu-ft 4-ohm 410 (3 front + 1 rear) with these and like the way they are voiced. The cab is tuned to 50 Hz with port plugs which can be used to make it sealed for a tighter low end. The SC10-16 is also light weight with good sensitivity and reasonable power handling. With a 3/4" birch ply baffle and 1/2" european poplar ply for the rest of the cab final weight was only 47.6 lbs. (Picture imported with 90 deg rotation)5StringPocket

I replaced the speakers in a Hartke 2-10 cabinet with these. It sounds great at low volume, but it cannot be used for a gig, even in a small venue. At a moderate volume, anything at or below the low G on a bass makes the speakers rattle (I tried with the speakers outside the cabinet as well, so it's not the cabinet rattling). They don't seem to be able to handle the rated power, so this cabinet will be staying at home.David

Not being used as intended. After extensive research and 8ohm impeadance instead of 4 ohm they function really good with my sony avr and it powers these 4 of loud speakers nicely with my surround sound system in my home. Along with the 1.75 inch tweeters. They sound amazing when watching movies or playing games.Shawn H

I, have 4 of these running on a Taramps 800X4 and they sound Amazing esp in the place I,have them installed just with these 4 pro audio FXS mids I, have people asking me all,the time,what you running in there and when I,show them they walk around,shaking their heads because they can't believe how awesome they sound! they came in quick I have the on the rp150.ab with 2 others just like it 2 per channel wired to 2 ohms 2 1"super tweeters on the other two channels. the low end is skars zvx 18 2ohm wired to 1ohm reads .75 on tester pushed with rp2000 it's in a 6th order bandpass parallel configuration one port tuned at 32hz the other to 65hz. sound is awesome so much bass it hits so hard and at max volume the mids and hi sound clear as a whistle even with the sub beating my truck to death. def love skar audio thxDavid W

I've been through many, many 12s for Blackface style speakers. These are my faves. For good 60s tones in country and rock with a BF amp these guys work great. Take pedals well. Not shrill or muddy in my experience. Solid surfy bass. Smooth treble. 120 watts which is triple what I would ever throw at em. For a Deluxe or a Pro in a honkytonk bar, these are just the ticket.edol9871

For me the tones of these are somewhere in between American and British. I use these mainly in a 2×10 cab for a fender vibroverb style amp. Vs the Oxford speakers these have a lil more mid focus and rounded highs that work much better with higher gain tones. I also use these with my Marshall origin 50 set relatively clean to get a slightly bigger bottom end than V30s.RockinJohnson

I bought this speaker in the 16ohm version to replace a v30 in my orange ppc1x12. I love the v30 but I mainly use a 100w Marshall DSL100HR and the v30 by itself couldn't handle all that wattage since it's only 60watts. So I decided to go with the swamp thang cause a little more defined low end sounded like a good idea as I play a 7 string ltd (fishman fluence pups) half the time. But I was worried I would loose the highs that we need for attack in high gain situations as well as playing clean which I do very often also. But now that I've played tgrough this speaker I can say that is not a problem whatsoever. This speaker has twice the highs and twice the lows as my v30. Probably a little less midrange but since it's such a powerful speaker it doesn't feel like it's relying on mids the cut through. Full disclosure I've only had the speaker a few hours and played through it a little over an hour but if it sounds this good outta the box I'm confident things will only get better. It's a great sounding speaker in my opinion that would complement any style/set up. I plan on buying an empty Luke 2x12C cab from seismic audio soon so i can pair the ST and the v30 which im lookong forward to. But in the meantime im in no huge hurry since the ST sounds so good by itself.Michael I.

I would not quite call myself an audiophile, but I do listen to a lot of music (mainly alternative, rock, and classical) and am pretty conscience of sound quality and balance. I was very happy with these speakers while they worked and took good care of them (I rarely turned the volume up very loud and did not move them around much) so I was very disappointed when they broke. I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I am still using the one speaker and it sounds decent, just definitely not what I was wanting for $90.SAMUEL H.

First off. My shipment came from California all the way to a remote mining town in northern Canada. I swear the box looked like it was handed to me personally by the person who packed it. Not a dent or ding, no damage what so ever. Kudos to the shipping department and the shipping company. So I get the speakers set up. I am immediately impressed with the quality of manufacture. Fit and finish are perfect. The speakers look great with the grill either on or off. Fantastic sound. This speaker is lightweight and awesome! You can easily carry it around anywhere, it comes with wheels and a handle to drag it around, but you could also easily just carry it, it's that lightweight. I'm honestly flabbergasted when I received this product. I was going to give it to my little cousin, so she can karaoke but after playing with it for a few minutes…I decided to keep it and heres why: Light weight, portable- I'd say about 5 lbs. The sound of the mega bass was insane! My uncle and brother are very much into music and even they were impressed by the sound quality. I have to admit, i was giggling at the handle to push/ pull around because it reminds me of a suitcase BUT, it's actually extremely handy. I used bluetooth to play music from my iphone pro max and had no difficulty at all finding the speaker. All I did was turn on the unit and made sure it was in pairing mode for my phone to the speaker. I can't say I'll use the karaoke part of it much but this will definitely be something I will pull out when we have family gatherings/ parties. I don't have to strain my back picking up something heavy and can dance the night away! I wholeheartedly love this.Selena G

I'm using mine with Anthem Statement D1 Preamp, in a 6.1 gaming/music setup. The IN-8 v2's are Front left/right. These are super clear, I'm not an expert describing sound, but they are nice and I hear more (details) from the music. I have only had them a little while though. Speakers are nearly as important as the amp. If you like your amp but want a better tone, change your speakers, mix and match, look at what speakers the big boys use. This speaker certainly has its haters. By themselves, I usually felt something is missing. I had these in a Carvin USA 4×12 and Marshall 1960a 4×12. With my Marshall cab I have a Marshall JVM 210 head. This cab with the marshall head sounds great. It sounds so good I took the back off the cab to see if they were in fact 75s in there. I have a 1980s JCM 800 that also sounds great with this cab. However, my Engl amp sound ok but definitely not great with these speakers. I had and sold a Carvin MTS 3200 head because I could never get a good dirty tone out of it. I think now it was the lack of tone caused by the speakers. Thus I started my experiment. I took the Carvin cab apart and mixed in an X patern Vintage 30s and the 75s. Both speakers sound better in this combination. All my amps sounded great with this cab. I then mixed the 75s with G12h Anniversay and same result. Ditto for the greenbacks. I am not exaggerating that the tone changed signicantly, and every time for the better, when I mixed other top end speakers with the 75s. I'm keeping my marshall cab as is with the 75s. However, this cab sounded noticeably better than the Carvin cab with 75s in it. The Carvin cab is very high quality and well built. As a result, I will never ever use any other cab with just 75s in them. I will always mix them with other speakers and recommend this to you. I play classic rock and blues. By themselves, the speakers I like best are greenbacks. I had a wow moment there. The G12 H also sound great alone. The vintage 30s are more like the 75s. Alone, they can get on your nerves. The top end is outright harsh. But everyone knows that for cutting through the mix the V30s are great. So like the 75s, they need to be tamed by mixing them with another speaker. Verdict- great speaker for metal and players who like the mods scooped. For other players, they sound great mixed with V30s, greenbacks etc, etc. the 75s are not great at all at cutting through the mix. I think the best scenario if you want to buy this speaker or have a cab with them In it is to mix it with another top end speaker. My recommendation is if you have a 4×12 take two out and mix with either V30s or G12h. It will sound great. As a second option, if you have a cab with V 30s and you think they are too harsh sounding, the 75s will tame it. However, there are better speakers out there- tryout the greenbacks. Creambacks, and other speakers before you buy these.Ron

I bought this to replace my stock Peavey Sheffield in my 6505+ 112 combo and I'm very happy with the results. The amp now has the added character. The dirty cleans, mean crunch and the searing lead tones of the Peavey 6505+ are all way better through this speaker! Everything with gain sounds way more \m\ METAL /m/ than the stock speaker ever did to me. I play with a lot of gain so that's what i was after in choosing this upgrade. I never thought it would make such a difference, but i really hear the difference in quality of sound reproduction. "Getcha Pull" on this one for sure!Wade

This speaker did everything I hoped, completely transformed my 1×12 combo. Cleaned up the highs and mids and added chunk to the bass. Most importantly, it gave me projection. My sound was not lost in a blur 10 ft. from the amp anymore. Only con has nothing to do with the G12T. The old speaker had 6 mounting bolts, while Celestion uses only 4. It took me about an hour to take out the 4 I couldn't use and reinstall 2 in the right position.Paulie

I had some old speakers from a bar. They needed to be reconed. For about the same cost as a reconing kit, I purchased two Celestion Pulse speakers. Unlike the bar speakers, these are intended for bass guitar. I put together a Baltic Birch speaker box and mounted them. So far they work. Little undue resonance. Good heavy magnets on these speakers.Daniel
