Zoom Acoustic Guitar Pedal For Sale (2024 Update)

I could spend all day yapping about this pedal…In my travels i've tried countless pedals, but got tired of having 'too many' pedals. The weight, the time it took to hook it all up. I also busk, or play where electricity isn't available, and wanted a setup where i could make one trip with everything, and keep the weight down. I've always been a fan of ZOOM products, so trying out the Multistomp series was a no-brainer for me. The 50G met all my requirements, and exceed them all after i got one and started using it. Tones that are as good as any higher priced pedal, the versatility is second to none, and the price is killer for what this pedal can do. I would say the the Bluetooth version was my favorite, then the 70CDR, then the 50G, with the 50G's new 3.0 update, the 50 G is now my favorite pedal…period. The 50G started with maybe 50 patches, now it has 172, and best of all it has the Exciter patch, which to me is required on any pedal board. All i can suggest is watch the countless demo videos of this pedal. I would recommend this pedal for any level of guitarist, i would also recommend the MS-70CDR, watch the demo videos of the 70-CDR vs Strymons…amazing I cant say enough good things about the 50G, i believe it's near the perfect all around pedal. The MS-50G pedal is first class. It is every bit as clean, quiet, and well built as the Boss pedals. It is not a replacement for the Boss line. Zoom pedals have a character of their own. Personally, I like the Zoom tone. But I'm not a guitar player. There is a great ~15 minute YouTube instructional video for the MS-50G. I got over the learning curve for writing and storing effects by watching this video, then I bought pedal. It replaces several pieces of my high quality studio gear when I need fast results that are of high level audio quality. Zoom delivers with this product. After I watched this video I purchased the pedal. I also like my G1X as a companion to this pedal. The G1X has a nice volume/expression pedal.Sean

I needed something for my living room and practicing while watching TV late at night without a full pedal board or multi-effects box. This along with a Boss RC-3 and a mini mixer for my wireless headphones provides everything I have in my studio at a mini level. The sounds are good enough. There are enough options in sound to play most anything. Eventually I'll try this little beast as a sub for my full pedal board and see how it works in a live jam. One pedal to do everything. It's not perfect but it is great. I wish Zoom would provide updates to it and a better manager. It's pretty old by today's standards and if Zoom provided updated files they would sell even more if these great little boxes. I’ve been searching for multi effects/DI pedal to compliment my Weissenborn style acoustic guitar. My sound hole passive pickup does a great job except for a somewhat weak output. Enter The Zoom AC-3 to the rescue. Now I have output headroom to spare. Everything about it is top shelf. Extremely flexible effects (kudos to ZOOM for using knobs rather than menu driven). And, it’s build quality is terrific. Very solid unit. I’m very glad I decided to try the ZOOM AC-3. BTW, the AMS payment options are unbeatable!SC n NC

I needed a DI box that could also boost the signal to the PA for solos and the Zoom does that well; the stage tuner is helpful, though I still use headstock tuners from habit and have accidentally muted my guitar stepping on the tuner switch when I wanted the boost switch. Providing presets for guitar body style should be useful, but once an effect is chosen I'll likely stick with it and use the equalizer knobs instead. Rarely use reverb playing with other instruments through the PA. The anti-feedback function and lift button haven't been needed though that was a big problem with my old DI box. Not using batteries, but two AA ones probably wouldn't last long.Mike

Makes a 200 dollar guitar sound like a 1000 dollar guitar. Makes a 1000 dollar guitar sound like a 2000 dollar guitar and so forth. The tape delay and tremolo sound so lush and amazing. The other effects sound amazing too, but I love the tape delay. What is amazing about this pedal is that it gets your little nuances and fixes them by smoothing them over. It's hard to find this pedal under 300 dollars, but if you have to own just one pedal for an acoustic then this is the one.satu87121

Excellent acoustic sounds can result using this Zoom AC3. I plan to use it more for recording than live gigs. For live gigs, although the acoustic sound doesn't have the same perfection as the AC3, I find that the Zoom A2 is the most convenient for the various pre-set sounds that I tend to use. Pro's Had this pedal for a few weeks now, very pleased as I can plug my passive solid body electric violin straight in and it seems to balance the impedence just fine, so I don't lose the lower frequencies. Battery life is surprisingly good, also there is an eco function that makes the screen less bright for longer life. First thing I did was test it with cheap pound shop batteries, which lasted for a good few hours, so I was impressed as none of my other pedals can handle that. There is a very useful editor which you can download and gives full access to all of the various fx. Was also surprised that Zoom seem to keep adding these individual plug-in type effects. There is one set of patches that you can load in from the editor, created by a Japanese EV player. They are interesting and can be useful. The fx appear to be in a chain, but some seem parallel to my mind, as there is a mix control with some that seems to be a by-pass of some kind. There are quite a lot of different fx and some are aimed at getting that piezo squeek under control, which is important for EV players as the bow hair noise can be a distraction. The EQ fx seem to be aok at filtering out the annoying frequencies. The looper is quite handy for setting up, the frequency response to my ears seemed ok without any noticeable compression. Not many battery loopers out there, so this is ok for a street jam if that is your thing. It's just basic record, overdub x however many you want, stop or delete. This pedal worked well through my amps and like most pedals works well in that situation for live gig work. For studio, I could record DI straight into my DAW, but to gain a really natural sound used additional IR reverb and IR convolution snapshots that I've made. I also have the Zoom A2.1u pedal which is built like a tank but is less easy to program. I wasn't sure about the plastic base of the A1. However, it has a got a solid metal base and feels really strong+ it's light and a handy size, not too big. Unlike some of the floor guitar pedals I've got that take up a whole gig bag. I can set up my favourite patches in any order that I like, the editor makes this very easy. I can overwrite the presets, or re-set back to makers original settings. Makers patch 29 is one of the best octavers I have come across in a pedal like this. Makes a regular EV sound just like a Cello. Cons: There might be IR on this pedal but you can't load in your own and there is no way to get access to edit the convolution fx. I was overly impressed with the Violin pre-sets, but that's true of most pedal presets, you need to put you own to together to suit different EV's you might own. Overall I like this pedal and can see myself using it a lot because it is light, I can edit on the fly, good battery life, good price, ongoing support via the editor. I bought this pedal from Scan computers in Bolton and their service was excellent and they offered the most competitive price, so all good imo.Peak

This is NOT an acoustic guitar pedal! It has useless settings for sax, harmonica, trumpet, WHY ? They're just a bunch of unusable effects for a guitar, maybe a half dozen are useful. The looper is useless, you have to use your hand to get to it, it ONLY records a 30sec loop, not 24 seconds not one measure , 30 sec. And it doesn't start with sound activation, so the delay from when you turn it on stays in the loop, as does the remainder of the 30 seconds !!! What good is that ? And the pedal is right next to a control footswitch, that you WILL keep hitting and changing the setting as you play. There is no rhyme or reason to the lack of organization in the effects order, there isn't any. Bottom line, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !Badartdog

The main reason I bought this is that i had a Zoom 405 acoustic effects years ago and loved it. This has the same quality effects. The preset guitar types is surprisingly good, the EC preset is very very good. The rhythm is ok, standard level and useful for sure. Really loving this, getting back to playing after about 20 years away, got this multi effects pedal and I’m playing every day, plenty amp sims and effects to play with, got about 5 favourites already, not played about enough with the blank slots so can’t say too much about that. Drum beats are good for jamming along with and keepin time. Love the looper, really cool for dual parts ( I play a lot of iron maiden) and for noodling over your own backing track. Went for this one with the expression pedal, not using it much but that’s probably my style more than anything, it works. I’m using a standard mini usb to power, not tried recording yet, busy playing and having fun. Using headphones mostly, sounds great, put it through my 30 year old Marshall when I get the chance, sounds awesome. Bottom line, I’m just messing about in the spare room, having fun. Not a performer or gigging or anything. This has everything I need/want and the rest. Price is pretty good for what your getting. Should actually get a refund on this. Seemed like a good product but tried to connect with Guitar Lab to add effects. I got connected, added a couple of FX but lost some factory effects that were pretty good (Comp). Then, tried to connect again to get these back but can't connect anymore. Tried 2 computers as well, many times. Anyway, the box is stuck with FX it has now so, not good. Poor product if you can't get it to function properly.Zoom Man

It works well, covers a lot of different effects (including amps and cabinets), and the user interface is pretty easy to learn. There are some limitations in its capabilities (for instance, there's little memory available to add effects unless you uninstall some of the defaults, and some combinations of effects can't be used because it doesn't have enough processing power), but at this price you have to expect that. One thing they could improve without adding cost to the device is the documentation; expect to use your favourite search engine a lot while figuring this thing out.Steve

If you want to play different styles with the correct bass sound, be creative, or just have fun this pedal serves that purpose. Amazing amount of pedal simulators. Create your own sound and more. Overall: I've had this pedal for a couple of years. I originally bought it for practice but I've been gradually replacing my pedalboard with it mostly because of three reasons:1. The compressor and limiter simulations are top notch. 2. The reverbs and delays are as good as any I've used before. 3. The Ampeg SVT simulation is something that I keep going to.As a bass player I only need very few effects and a good compressor. The rest of my sound comes mostly from the type of bass I use and my fingers.This pedal is perfect for all your effect needs. I'm surprised that more players don't use this pedal. First of all let me say I also have the G1ON and bought the G1X Four for the enhanced features and so I'd have one with the expression pedal. I sold all my tube amps when I was laid off, retired and moved to Mexico. My reference point is tweed and blackface era tube amps. I gotta say, once you learn how to dial in the tones you want, these little plastic boxes do a pretty decent job of amp and effects modeling. Like the G1ON, the G1X 4 does a good job of imitating the touch and volume control dynamics of a cranked tube amp at any volume. I really like the Deluxe Reverb, AC30 and DC30 simulations. The G1ON has more vintage style amp types to choose from, and in that regard it is more useful to e. Two kinds of spring reverb, one eats up a lot of memory but really sounds lush like an external unit along with the other types (room, plate, hall, church, etc.). Tremolo is built into the Fender models that have tremolo along with a couple of very configurable trems and rotating speaker effects. The G1 4 does NOT have the Z Organ effect the G1ON does, boo hoo. Beyond that, there are tons of effects to play with and they all sound good to my ears. I currently have 3 small amp setups. 1. Quilter 101 mini docked in their 10" BlockDock cab. 2. Quilter MicroBlock 45 pedal teamed with a 5E3 pine cab with a Emi Legend 12" and 3. an old Carvin SX50 1×12". I can get all three do to do the Deluxe Reverb,Vox AC15/30, E and F series Tweed tones that don't make me miss my tube amps. Wish I would have had the G1ON and the 17.7lb Quilter 1×10" combo back when I was in a blues band and gigging. Interface improvements from the G1ON… Improved display allows for more descriptive/longer patch names. Four pots act as master vol, bass, middle, treble during performance mode for global tone and volume tweeking. The four pots also make adjusting settings easier. For several years now, my pedalboard has had only ONE guitar "FX" pedal. First it was the G1Xon. Now it's the G1Xfour. I play both acoustic AND electric thru the pedal, and they BOTH sound great! Though I've played for over 40 years, I'm not a professional musician and rarely play out; but I do play a lot at home and IMO this is the best VALUE "name brand" guitar multi-FX pedal on the market. The Zoom G1on multi-effects/modeling stompbox is a surprisingly capable device that's made all the more compelling a value for its ability to run for hours on 4 AA batteries. It has its limitations, of course, but you can find it used or refurbished all over eBay for around $50 shipped – and that's a steal by any yardstick! To begin with, the 2.0 BIOS update gives you 100 factory patches to start with. As with most multi-effects/modeling devices, many of these are near-duplicates and/or near-useless for most purposes – but you can freely modify to or completely replace them with custom patches that better suit your needs with a littel effort. Here's where a free, third-party patch librarian called zoomlib is nearly indispensible. It's available for Windows or Mac computers, and it allows you to backup patches, change their order, add multiple copies of the same patch and so forth. Just search for zoomlib and it'll show up in the top few results in any search engine (eBay frowns on external links in these reviews, or I'd just post it here). That last capability – putting multiple copies of the same patch in consecutive slots is the key to getting the most out of the G1on and its slightly-bigger brother the G1Xon (which features an expression pedal, but is otherwise the same device). Both pedals have zero in the way of real-time control over parameters like distortion, echo, modulation (chorus, flange, etc.). The way to deal with that is to set up consecutively-numbered patches that are identical to begin with. Then add a distortion, for instance, to the second iteration, so that, when you're actually using the device, you can, in effect, kick in distortion without otherwise altering your sound simply by stomping the UP footswitch, then kick it off at the end of your solo by stomping the DOWN switch. For a different basic patch, do the same kind of thing to add gain or effects to it – and so on. Editing patches is kind of a pain. You HAVE to do it via the pedal's menus, because there's no patch editing software available for these guys (zoomlib is strictly limited to backing up, re-ordering, and adding already-edited patches). You start with an amp/speaker model, then add effects or sound-shaping modules to the chain. (Note that some effects are CPU-intensive, which limits how many you can have in a single chain before the device hits a wall. It will, however, tell you when you try to exceed its processing power – and refuse to let you add that effect, etc. to the current patch's chain.) Each amp model and device has controls for things like gain, depth, tone, etc. Which controls are avaiable depends on the device that's being modeled (so, for instance, the OD-250 model has only tone and drive, whereas the Rat model has 3 other dials to play with). You can usually get away with up to 4 devices (including the amp/speaker model you start with) in a chain, but 5 is really pushing it. To use zoomlib (or to upgrade the BIOS), you'll need a USB 2.0 male to USB-mini female cable, which is not included. Nor is an external power supply (I recommend the Snark for that. It's inexpensive, very quiet, and has enough power to run three stompboxes on a daisy-chain cable.) 4 AA batteries ARE included, which is a nice extra. And the fact that these guys will run on batteries for 8 hours or so is really nice, because that means you don't have to drag along an AC adapter to lose or break. (These units will also run off of USB power from your laptop or desktop computer, so there's that, too.) Note that you have to plug a 1/" cable into the input to turn the unit on. The 1/4" output jack – which is confgurable for either line- or instrument-level output – doubles as a stereo headphone jack, as well (and it's auto-sensing, so you don't have to do any special configuration just to use it as a headphone amplifier). Make sure you adjust the system settings for alkaline or rechargeable Li-ON batteries, depending on which you use (the unit comes with 4 alkaline AA's). This is a great little stick-it-in-your-bag-and-go device for jams, although you could actually use it for performances, as long as you put some planning into setting up and sequencing your patches ahead of time. It is NOT as capable or as faithful at modeling as something like a Line 6 POD-HD, or a Digitech RP1000 – but it's just a fraction of the cost of those pedals, so you really can't complain about its limitations in comparison to those excellent, professional-quality, EXPENSIVE devices. I'm very happy with mine. Chances are, if you buy one knowing its limitations in advance, you will be just as happy with yours …thomst

I bought this pedal primarily as a looper and reverb for the end of my signal chain, and it fulfills those functions quite well. The reverbs sound really solid compared to the reverb on my Fender Deluxe, and the looper has most (not all) of the features I wanted: dedicated stop/start pedal, visual feedback for loop progress, and 30 second loop time, which is plenty. It does not, however, save loops, which would have been really nice.Another nice surprise is that the drum samples included are excellent. However, they interact oddly with the looper. Normally, the looper activates the moment you press the start pedal, but when you have a drum track going, you have to do wait for a count in before you start your loop. I don't really understand why it works this way.So that was the good. The bad is that half the presets are incredibly loud and add a horrific shrieking/feedback noise when you switch to them. I'm honestly afraid of scrolling through everything and it's prevented me from exploring a lot of the other features the pedal offers.The other is that the controls are a bit difficult to use and overly complicated.Anyway, a mixed bag. Good looper UI, with decent sound quality with great reverb effects and a bunch of usable drum tracks seem like an excellent value for $60, but i find the interface difficult to use and the preset "profiles" unusable and downright earsplitting at times.Daniel

This is my first guitar processor. I really wanted something that I could try out different things like the flanger and the reverb and the phaser etc without having to invest in a bunch of different pedals. This thing is awesome. It comes with a bushel of pre mades which you can alter or build your own. Only downside is there is no true bypass, you have to build an empty setting and name it bypass otherwise it is always on. It is older technology but oh what fun and so many things you can do and so many luscious tones. It's the tones man that will get you. The tones man. Get 1while you can. Drum beats are good for jamming along with and keepin time. Love the looper, really cool for dual parts ( I play a lot of iron maiden) and for noodling over your own backing track. Went for this one with the expression pedal, not using it much but that’s probably my style more than anything, it works. I’m using a standard mini usb to power, not tried recording yet, busy playing and having fun. Using headphones mostly, sounds great, put it through my 30 year old Marshall when I get the chance, sounds awesome. Bottom line, I’m just messing about in the spare room, having fun. Not a performer or gigging or anything. This has everything I need/want and the rest. Price is pretty good for what your getting. Should actually get a refund on this. Seemed like a good product but tried to connect with Guitar Lab to add effects. I got connected, added a couple of FX but lost some factory effects that were pretty good (Comp). Then, tried to connect again to get these back but can't connect anymore. Tried 2 computers as well, many times. Anyway, the box is stuck with FX it has now so, not good. Poor product if you can't get it to function properly.Zoom Man

I’ve been searching for multi effects/DI pedal to compliment my Weissenborn style acoustic guitar. My sound hole passive pickup does a great job except for a somewhat weak output. Enter The Zoom AC-3 to the rescue. Now I have output headroom to spare. Everything about it is top shelf. Extremely flexible effects (kudos to ZOOM for using knobs rather than menu driven). And, it’s build quality is terrific. Very solid unit. I’m very glad I decided to try the ZOOM AC-3. BTW, the AMS payment options are unbeatable!SC n NC

I needed a DI box that could also boost the signal to the PA for solos and the Zoom does that well; the stage tuner is helpful, though I still use headstock tuners from habit and have accidentally muted my guitar stepping on the tuner switch when I wanted the boost switch. Providing presets for guitar body style should be useful, but once an effect is chosen I'll likely stick with it and use the equalizer knobs instead. Rarely use reverb playing with other instruments through the PA. The anti-feedback function and lift button haven't been needed though that was a big problem with my old DI box. Not using batteries, but two AA ones probably wouldn't last long.Mike

Makes a 200 dollar guitar sound like a 1000 dollar guitar. Makes a 1000 dollar guitar sound like a 2000 dollar guitar and so forth. The tape delay and tremolo sound so lush and amazing. The other effects sound amazing too, but I love the tape delay. What is amazing about this pedal is that it gets your little nuances and fixes them by smoothing them over. Overall: I've had this pedal for a couple of years. I originally bought it for practice but I've been gradually replacing my pedalboard with it mostly because of three reasons:1. The compressor and limiter simulations are top notch. 2. The reverbs and delays are as good as any I've used before. 3. The Ampeg SVT simulation is something that I keep going to.As a bass player I only need very few effects and a good compressor. The rest of my sound comes mostly from the type of bass I use and my fingers.This pedal is perfect for all your effect needs. I'm surprised that more players don't use this pedal. Pro's Had this pedal for a few weeks now, very pleased as I can plug my passive solid body electric violin straight in and it seems to balance the impedence just fine, so I don't lose the lower frequencies. Battery life is surprisingly good, also there is an eco function that makes the screen less bright for longer life. First thing I did was test it with cheap pound shop batteries, which lasted for a good few hours, so I was impressed as none of my other pedals can handle that. There is a very useful editor which you can download and gives full access to all of the various fx. Was also surprised that Zoom seem to keep adding these individual plug-in type effects. There is one set of patches that you can load in from the editor, created by a Japanese EV player. They are interesting and can be useful. The fx appear to be in a chain, but some seem parallel to my mind, as there is a mix control with some that seems to be a by-pass of some kind. There are quite a lot of different fx and some are aimed at getting that piezo squeek under control, which is important for EV players as the bow hair noise can be a distraction. The EQ fx seem to be aok at filtering out the annoying frequencies. The looper is quite handy for setting up, the frequency response to my ears seemed ok without any noticeable compression. Not many battery loopers out there, so this is ok for a street jam if that is your thing. It's just basic record, overdub x however many you want, stop or delete. This pedal worked well through my amps and like most pedals works well in that situation for live gig work. For studio, I could record DI straight into my DAW, but to gain a really natural sound used additional IR reverb and IR convolution snapshots that I've made. I also have the Zoom A2.1u pedal which is built like a tank but is less easy to program. I wasn't sure about the plastic base of the A1. However, it has a got a solid metal base and feels really strong+ it's light and a handy size, not too big. Unlike some of the floor guitar pedals I've got that take up a whole gig bag. I can set up my favourite patches in any order that I like, the editor makes this very easy. I can overwrite the presets, or re-set back to makers original settings. Makers patch 29 is one of the best octavers I have come across in a pedal like this. Makes a regular EV sound just like a Cello. Cons: There might be IR on this pedal but you can't load in your own and there is no way to get access to edit the convolution fx. I was overly impressed with the Violin pre-sets, but that's true of most pedal presets, you need to put you own to together to suit different EV's you might own. Overall I like this pedal and can see myself using it a lot because it is light, I can edit on the fly, good battery life, good price, ongoing support via the editor. I bought this pedal from Scan computers in Bolton and their service was excellent and they offered the most competitive price, so all good imo.Peak

This is NOT an acoustic guitar pedal! It has useless settings for sax, harmonica, trumpet, WHY ? They're just a bunch of unusable effects for a guitar, maybe a half dozen are useful. The looper is useless, you have to use your hand to get to it, it ONLY records a 30sec loop, not 24 seconds not one measure , 30 sec. And it doesn't start with sound activation, so the delay from when you turn it on stays in the loop, as does the remainder of the 30 seconds !!! What good is that ? And the pedal is right next to a control footswitch, that you WILL keep hitting and changing the setting as you play. There is no rhyme or reason to the lack of organization in the effects order, there isn't any. Bottom line, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !Badartdog

The main reason I bought this is that i had a Zoom 405 acoustic effects years ago and loved it. This has the same quality effects. The preset guitar types is surprisingly good, the EC preset is very very good. The rhythm is ok, standard level and useful for sure. The looper however is very average, very limited in control and capacity. Overall a very good effects unit for acoustic guitar. Forget the looper!itc_productions
