Everything that is available regarding Gibson amps is contained within this book/CD combination. **DO NOT ORDER THIS BOOK WITHOUT THE CD** The schematics are ONLY on the CD. With that said, There is a lot of needed info that is still missing. The CD does have a good collection of "Schematics", but there are numerous issues/errors within these schematics, especially when you get into the 1960s and later models. A lot of incorrect component values, components that are not on the actual boards, etc. So, these schematics are more of a guide, than an actual reference. But the biggest complaint that I have, is the complete lack of ANY board Layouts or wiring diagrams. And since the "actual" board layouts, again especially in the 60s and later, are horrendous. Actual wiring looks like a plate of spaghetti. Apparently Gibson changed models so frequently, and changed designs of the models frequently, that the schematics are just a snapshot in time during this evolution. Then when you couple that with terrible board layout and probably very low paid assembly worker who could only follow the "paint by numbers" eyelets on the boards for wiring hookups. And also apparently these workers were left to their own devices when deciding how to get from point A to point B. Resulting in a rats nest of wiring. So, with this mess, an accurate schematic AND wiring diagram is crucial for any repair tech. But I guess Gibson was not interested in the maintenance of the amps, only to sell as many as possible as quickly as possible. So, with all that said, I still reluctantly recommend this book, simply because it is the best collection of Gibson amp info, all in one place, that is available. BTW, the other info in the book offers a brief overview of Gibson history. Kind of a strange company that really had very little to do with it's namesake. The name Gibson came from it's founder Orville Gibson who made mandolins, then sold his company after only 4 years of operation back around the turn of the last century (1900) to Chicago Music Instruments. So, nothing that we think of as Gibson, has anything to do with what Orville started. There is more detailed info on the company on Y-tube than you will find in this book.dram56
