These little Ibanezzes have an insanely loud headphone amplifier which can be very useful for recording guitars direct. The distortion channel is worthless, but the clean channel is very sweet. I use a pair of these with my pedalboard wired in stereo to track guitars all night on headphones.submarine_green

The price and service were great. The Amp itself looks great, but it didnt work, though I did fix it. I figured one of the wires came loose during shipping. The guitar that came with it was a used Peavy Rockmaster and it looked like the previous owner played lumber jack with it and tried to chop down a tree. Im not worried about the cosmetics though, the guitar works and sounds great through the amp. I wish I could post pictures of the before and after. I filled in the damage and repainted the body a solid black as well as had a guy at the mall air brush my daughters name on it.ghostcat67

The TSA15H is very underpriced for what it can do. The clean tone is beautiful when adding a little reverb (Digi each pedal, amp does not have reverb). Plenty of settings available with EQ controls. Tubescreamer controls are sufficient to dial in any crunch or lead sounds needed. The rear panel has 5 diffent outlets to connect any cabinet, either 4,8, or16 ohms. And it is a beautiful setup when sitting on top of an ivory cabinet, either. TSA cab or aftermarket cab. One word about the tubescreamer circuit…to my ears, a Tubescreamer pedal sounds quite a bit different than the built-in one. Maybe more overdrive, maybe more ability to change the tone, not better or worse,just different. But I love this amp the chance to plug into multiple cabs with different speakers, a Vox speaker for clean and a Marshall for turning up all the way to 10, I can get almost any sound I would ever need. This amp sounds great. For $500 new I dont think it can be beat. 4 star rating is due to not having a true effects loop between pre and power amp. It has the loop between the boost and pre amp. It gets the job done but adding a true effects loop would serve this amp well without adding much to the cost. A spring reverb tank wouldnt hurt either but that can be remedied with an external reverb. Everything else is great from the look to the tone.wingman273

Nice easy portable amp for the money. Mine has ruby tubes and sounds pretty damn good, Nice clean tones with classic tube screamer OD. Only reason not giving this amp 5 stars is build quality is iffy, I can not see this amp gigging night after night. I dont believe the build quality would stand up to the road very long. Should be fine for home, studio, jams & occasional small clubs stages. The 1st thing I had to do was fix the foot switch,out of the box I had to clean & relubricate both micro switches which are really cheaply made plastic micro switches inside. I would recommend any quality generic 1/4 TRS 2 button foot switch over the Ibanez one. Other than that great little amp for the money.reesranch

Played guitar for over 20 years and haven't had a little practice amp in years due to the fact I play shows with half stack. This amp is decent quality, not enough volume to do hardly any type of playing with, no effects (which I understand that it's not a Line 6), overdrive is weak as well, and tone is very bland. I would go with a Line 6, Marshall or Fender amp for a practice amp, beginner or experience player.The Hendrix

I have had this amp for 12 years, and it has been used more than any amp in my collection. It has been my primary practice amp the whole time, and I've even been able to get some decent miked tones in the studio. It has had beer, water, soda, and other liquids spilled on it throughout the years and it still keeps on ticking. Just keep the jacks clean and you shouldn't have any issues. The distortion sucks, but it's better than nothing if you don't have a seperate pedal or processor (I still use an old Digitech GNX 2 modeler). It's not a bass amp, and you can't expect it to perform in a full-band scenario. It's a practice amp, and it definitely does its job well.guitar2mw

I have 3 of these amps so far and love them. You can't expect a big tube sound because it's not that but rather a smaller very useful sound. I customize them slightly with an 8" speaker that fits in them and do a few other little things. For very little money you can have a killer little tweed looking amp. Works great for rockabilly and roots music with an archtop for me and takes any pedals well. Can't beat these little work horses.Travis

Cool little amp. Been spending some time playing with it. Love the tweed look. Wish they hadn't put the Rogue plaque on the front of the grill, and had kept true to the Champ 600 look by putting it on the top of the amp over the speaker. The clean channel is good, wish it had some built in reverb. The distortion channel is good too. I ran my "Bluesdriver" pedal into it and it sounded even better. I will likely change out the stock speaker for the Eminence 6.5 speaker to try and coax a little more sound out of this great little amp.KWB MUSIC

I've been playing guitar since a kid. My Dad used to own a guitar store where he was an amp technician. I'll always remember sneaking into his room when he wasn't home and playing his salmon pink Strat and Twin reverb amp. There was always a magic in them and they really inspired me. Fast forward 30 years and I've grown up just like him. Been playing professionally for a long time through some pretty nice gear but something in me always wanted to revisit that amp, it just had the perfect sounds I played lots of amps before choosing a Marshall 50w plexi as my amp of choice for gigging and it was good, no doubt a about that, played it for almost 15 years straight until one day buying that Twin I'd always so wished I also had. Found I played it far more than the plexi so actually ended up selling the Marshall and just sticking with the 65' reissue! It does everything the Marshall did and more I think. Playing them side by side before making the final decision to sell set my mind at ease because I couldnl get the same sounds from the Twin. Even did a little A/B recording with overdrive and no one could pick which one was which I play mainly classic rock and this amp is everything I'll ever need. Small wattage Amos always sound and feel small to me so was never interested in them, of it's too loud turn it down, the volume is far better than the plexi because that one sat on a hair trigger, really difficult to get a bedroom volume out of. The Twin is quote easy and pot smooth to use. Plexi goes from 0-almost full volume at half way to 1 on the dial. Love itJez

I received the amp yesterday and have only played it (both the vibrato and normal channel) for about half an hour in my living room, but I was so impressed that I wanted to go ahead and write a review, which I almost never do. I've been playing electric guitar almost 50 years and have owned many different amps, almost all Marshall or Fender, including a late 60s or early 70s 100 watt Marshall (no master volume), a mid 70s silver face Twin Reverb and Dual Showman, a 1987X 50 watt Marshall reissue, a '59 Bassman reissue (before the LTD version), a '65 Super Reverb reissue, a Twinolux, and a standard '65 Deluxe Reverb reissue. The only other amp I have currently is a wine red '65 Deluxe Reverb reissue (DRRI) with a P12Q Jensen speaker. The '65 DRRI has been one of my favorites. I like the 6V6 sound and I think it's hard to get a bad sound out of that amp. I really like the clarity of the 64 Custom Deluxe Reverb compared to my '65 DRRI. It is noticeably brighter than my '65 DRRI, but part of that may be because the '64 has a C12Q speaker while my current '65 DRRI has a P12Q speaker. Since reverb and vibrato work on both channels of this '64 Custom Deluxe Reverb, the vibrato channel is like having the bright switch on (it reminds me of the way my super reverb sounded with the bright switch on) and the normal channel is like having the bright switch off. I like the way both the reverb and vibrato work and sound on this '64 more than the '65 DRRI. The same guitar (a Strat with '69 custom shop pickups) has noticeably longer sustain when I play it through this '64 compared to my '65 DRRI. Some people have mentioned a possible problem with noise (hiss or hum) from this amp, due to the way the channels are connected together, but I hear virtually no noise at all from this amp, not when it is sitting still (with both normal and vibrato channels turned up to 3), and not when I turn any of the knobs. I wish I had bought this amp in the first place instead of the '65 DRRI.Kenneth

I was really surprised at how good this amp sounds. Years ago I tried Line 6 and was not at all happy with the tone; but this is another story. It does take me awhile to dial in a specific classic rock tone, but when I do, it sounds better than any other amp that I've tried. I have tried the Marshall Code, Blackstar id Core, Vox Valvetronix, Boss Katana; as well as some all tube amps. The only other amp that is a close 2nd is the Fender Mustang GTX; also a great amp. The Spider V is fairly easy to operate. It offers lots of choices for amp models and cabinets. I like that it has variations of a mic'd cabinet. The parametric eq is a plus. I haven't played around too much with the effects yet, so I can't comment on that. The only negative thing I could say is that when you're editing a preset and want to hear how it sounds before you save it, you only have a short time before it goes back to the Home Screen. This really is a small price to pay for the quality of the amp and all the versatility it has. I like the App too. Musicians Friend got me a great on this as well; and their agent is following up making sure that I'm satisfied. The funny thing is that I came across this by accident. I placed an order for a Peavey amp that was on back order. I called Peavey multiple times, but they never returned my call. I also emailed them, but they didn't respond to that either. Been playing about a year, so my review is from the perspective of a complete newbie. The things I like- Lots of presets, mobile app functions, computer interface, and loads of user created effects available. Nice and loud, but no real basis of comparison to say if clarity is better or worse than other comparable amps. Don't likes- The micro-usb interface. I had to get an adapter and it's just not as good a connection as nearly anything else would be. IMHO, micro-usb is far too flimsy. Connecting to PC is far more problematic than just using the spider mobile app. It's probably a little more complicated than it should be for a beginner, but it's feature rich for the money.Nic T

I had a Line 6 120w amp for years that I regrettably sold a while ago and was looking for another amp. I looked at all the amp reviews I could find and decided that the new Katana was the way to go. I got the Katana home and absolutely loved it but the second day I had it it started a really loud buzzing that I couldn't stop. It probably was an easy fix but the fact is the amp was way too powerful for my purposes and their software wasn't compatible with the new Catalina OS. I returned and started looking again. I saw the 60w Spider V and the price was excellent so I made an on the spot decision to buy another Line 6 and I'm really glad I did. The tones this amp can get are incredible. There are so many amp models and cabs that you can dial in pretty much any tone you want from a crispy snapback country clean to the most vicious heavy metal and everything in between. You can use the presets as they are or you can use them as a baseline and tweak to your own liking or you can start from scratch and build your own rig from the ground up. The controls are intuitive and easy to use but there are some features where you'd have to be a professional to really know how to use or even care to use. The software and the mobile app are so easy to use and give you all the options at your fingertips. The amp comes with a lot of presets that I find are completely useless but there are a lot that are excellent as I already talked about. There are only four empty slots for your own custom presets and I wish there were more but if you use the mobile app you can have your own tone library on there. I bought the FBV3 foot controller so that gives me a lot of flexibility to have various effects. One of the limitations is the lack of good effects though. There's enough that if you work at it you can get a decent sound but there could be some better ones. Overall I would recommend the amp. Don't listen to the naysayers or the amp snobs, it's a quality amp and extremely versatile.Just Plain Joe

If you like Fender modelling amp sounds, you'll find this perfect for headphone practice. The selection of Amps is a bit more limited than in a Fender Modelling amp, and the Effects depths similarly limited, but hey, the thing is the size of a matchbox and it allows you to jam along with your online selections, via Bluetooth. Your headphones must be cable, not Bluetooth, however, to avoid latency. But as the headphone cable goes over your shoulder straight into the Mustang Micro, you are not hampered by any connecting cable to your playback device. Until you try this, you may not appreciate how liberating and convenient this is. Its pivoting jack also allows it to go into a Strat recessed socket, many others don't.Geoff

Overall: I'm very pleased with the Micro overall. Read my review below. It really is great. If I were to suggest any changes to the Mustang Micro, it would be this: 1. Include some earbuds with the amp…I mean, why not? You can buy decent earbuds for ten bucks these days…probably cost Fender fifty cents and would mean ready to go out of the box. 2. In the new model, set it up to have a bluetooth output for using wireless headphones. While not a huge deal, I'd really rather not have that wire running from the headset to the guitar. I always end up fumbling with it when taking the guitar off or putting it on. 3. Go ahead and print the basic amp settings on the Micro. The reference card works. But, just having the amp models printed on the amp itself would be handy. There is enough blank space on the Micro to accommodate this.These are just my ideas for improvements. The amp is already a great sounding and super handy device.Ericbstl

I picked this up on a friend's recommendation as a better than average headset amplifier. My Likes: In terms of sound quality it is quite good. It is compact and I do like the USB charging feature a lot. The amp models are better than I expected and sound different with each guitar I use, just like a good amp should. The effects were a nice bonus, simple and effective. I haven't tested bluetooth connectivity yet, but I presume that it will do its job. My concerns, Use while Seated – nearly impossible,as with most headset amplifiers, especially with a side mounted jack . With my Fender Stratocaster, it is more easily used because of the top mount, but with any side mount, it gets caught on my knee and can get pulled out when seated. EQ feature. It does not seem to impact the sound very much in clean or driven settings. I would have preferred paying an extra $20 for a small set of wheels for hi/mid/low Overall it is a B+ for Fender, which could be a quick A with some more mounting options and a small 3 band EQKAS

I have never offered a product review for any product but I had to make an exception for this one. I am 69 years old, have been playing music for over 50 years, and I have just begun learning the harmonica. This amp is perfect for me for a number of reasons. First of all, it's portable. I can take it anywhere – from my living room – to that picnic table at the park – to my guitar player's front porch. I've had it for a while and I'm still on the batteries that came with it. (You can get an optional power supply for it if you want.) Second – it sounds great and has plenty of volume for personal practice and for use in small settings. With the GAIN and VOLUME controls, you can easily get the response you want. The EQ control only makes a subtle difference in frequency response but nothing dramatic. The DELAY function, however, is very effective and fun to use. Next – a variety of additional input and output jacks make it very flexible. I can plug in my MP3 player and play along with a backing track, for example. It also has a headphone jack, an extension speaker jack, and a DC power jack. Finally – and most importantly – It's fun to use and, because of that, I find myself practicing longer and enjoying it more. I'm new at holding a mic and at first it felt awkward. Now, because the FLY 3W is so much fun to use, holding the mic has become second nature. OK – now you're waiting for the downside. Well, other than the EQ control comments I made earlier, I don't have any. At first, I thought it could benefit from a handle but, upon closer inspection, I discovered the recessed finger grip on the top of the case. (Very clever Blackstar.) This is a well designed portable practice amp. (It even looks aesthetically pleasing.)Bill

First things first; this combo pack DOES include the power supply but batteries are NOT included in the combo pack. Despite the great reviews, don't expect this to sound like a full-size amp; the small speaker mean this amp lacks low end. The pair does sound OK playing in stereo music through the aux input; good detail and sound quality except for the missing bass. As a practice amp, especially through headphones, this thing rocks; with the ISF control you can make it sound like a Fender or a Marshall Amp. Cleans are good but the high gain channel can sound a bit messy if you crank it to 11. The amplifier is more than loud enough for home practice even without doubling the power to 6 watts by adding the second speaker. I don't own a full-size electric amp but I've found out that running the cab-simulated headphone output into my acoustic amp's aux input gives an excellent equivalent so I probably won't bother with a 'real' electric guitar amp; this setup sounds sooo good.Dave W

I was very pleasantly surprised and the range of EQ and the control of compression the Fly 3Bass gives me, not only a great practice amp but mic it up through a PA and it sounds amazing. Great running on batteries (last about 12 hours) or mains. I did a back garden set with couple of friends on acoustic guitars me on electric bass via Fly 3 and it sounded really good so i am very pleased with my purchase. Only thing i had to do was back off tone and bass enhancer on my active bass as it slightly overpowered the amp but i get that on my stage rig as well so expected that.Barry J.

Overall: Recieved this amp on saturday. Took it out of the box, looked great. plug in to 4*12 marshall cabinet and turned on to standby. Plugged in my Westbury custom to test. From the very beginning to was cracking, snapping then full blown static. I played all of two minutes before it started picking up radio signals and static was loud. No guitar signal was heard. Im not sure if its inherent in these amps but I am returning and not wanting another egnater productsVito

My Tweaker 15 half stack is my primary gigging amp. I don't like a ton of stage volume, and in any case this little rig is a lot louder than you'd expect from 15 watts. Using an angled-back stand for the cab, I can point it at my ear level and hear myself just fine w/o having to have guitar in the monitors. Hang an e906 in front of the speaker, and good to go. This rig's best feature is the broad range of useful tones. The various toggles and knobs actually DO something. Since I switch up between twp very different guitars (ES-335 to G&L SC2) in our current live sets, making a couple-three quick changes gets each guitar into its sweet spot and at the right volume easily. Foot-switchability would be even better, but it's quick enough. The gain control is particularly well done. There's some real range, not the "all or nothing" thing that a lot of amps' gain controls give. The Vintage/Modern voicing toggle offers distinct differences, as well. This rig takes pedals nicely. I use both individual stompboxes (recording) and an M13 (live…don't hate!), and both sound good. The one thing I dinged it a little on was that the lower ranges on the Master Volume aren't as useful as I hoped they would be when using the Gain. There's a big, non-linear jump in volume in the first quarter of the dial's movement. Not only does this jump bypass the volume I really wanted (for apartment playing), but the tone on the low side of that volume jump isn't nearly as good as the tone AFTER the jump. Not a problem on stage or even recording, but for those who have to be concerned about volume at times, it's not an ideal practice amp. Bottom line: a lot of great tones at a price that makes touring with it less nerve-wracking.David K

This amp provides a much better value than similarly designed amps by the top manufacturers. I was looking for small wattage amp to get natural tube break-up (previously playing 100 watt fender twin) at small room club-approved volume. I was down to this amp vs. Mesa Express 25 watt. Although the small Mesa's like the Express and TA models have more channels, I just really felt that the 2 channels of the Egnater were more versatile and responsive. I truly feel this amp does the best job of getting a Fender-ish clean and a Marshall-y overdrive in 1 amp. The overdrive channel is what really sold me. The dynamics make it really fun to play. It can get very saturated without sounding metal, and it compresses naturally. I've used on a couple recordings and can't believe the sound is coming from one 12" speaker and a 30 watt head. Sounds way bigger. This channel can also be used as more of a dirty clean channel. That is my one major qualm with this amp though… I like that the new 2 channel tweaker has a gain knob on both channels. I wish I could get a Stones-ish breakup sound using the clean channel on this amp without turning up to 10. So i'm forced to use a pedal and that's just not the same. Oh well, can't have everthing. I still wouldn't get the 2 channel tweaker because this overdrive channel is better to my ears – way more dynamic and responsive. The clean channel is stll great and I can turn it up to like 6 on gigs and get warm sounds. It can still get me the Fender cleans that I need – or close to them while still having a solid overdrive sound at the same time. That's the big win here. I agree with most that the wattage knobs are pratically useless – but to me, having both set of tubes is so cool. Clean channel can truly sound either Fender or Vox on 6V6 vs. EL84. I love being able to get Stratty Fender sounds with 6V6 and then flip to EL84 and get my Tom Petty sounds going. The distortion is slightly creamier with 6V6 but I like the feel changes depending on what guitar I'm playing. In general, it's nice to have 6V6 for strats and EL84's for Les Pauls all in 1 amp. I've had no issues with this amp (knock on wood) and have played steadily for over a year. Overall, this amp has 2 great channels instead of 4 decent channels. That's how I feel about it. Again, I wish they would have thrown a gain knob on the cleans for a slight break-up at low volume, but that is my only qualm. Excellent value! Fender has a winner! Having a blast digging into this amp. All of the classic Fender and British amps and stomp boxes galore. I really enjoy the built in looper for quick practice and exploring ideas. Only negative comment I have (really isn't that bad), you can't store your loop(s) on the amp, at least not that I am aware of. When the amp gets turned off, your loop with its over dubs are gone. So the amp has remained on for several weeks now! 🙂Russ

Great! Sounds mono cos it is. Not as immersive as some stereo amps (but those too are practice amps). The cloud connection and wifi updates plus being able to download presents straight from your phone into the amp is so seamless. The bluetooth and app control works so well, you can even screen cast your phone to the tv and see your chain right there. Super loud, powerful rumble. Heck I even stuck my digital piano into this sucker and played the downloaded Top Gun Theme on Piano – you'd be surprised how much like a guitar a digital piano can sound through this! Have not even yet used this as an audio interface to record straight into a DAW – well worth the purchase, It's a pleasure to go back to each time – oh and the pedal, that will keep you playing for hours, so good to play a chord progression and then solo over it, you'll get lost in time doing that! I have owned several amps in the last 40yrs. Always looking for "that tone" and never quite found it. Peavey's a Marshall and a Carvin. The last being a 100W head. And with all of them and a line 6 floor pod, was never happy. I am so happy with this head on my 4×12 marshall cab that all I have used the floor pod for is the tuner. I'm sure at some point I will probably use the pod for some effects, but for what I mostly play its not really needed. Of course there are many things that can effect this so ill just give a short list of the main guitars I use and the pickups. Gibson Les Paul with Slash Seymour Duncan's, wired 50's and a Gibson 137 all stock. I no longer play out so the 100w Carvin was just not good in my basement. Couldn't push it to the point of natural breakup in a confined space. This amp goes from almost crystal clean to a beautiful natural saturation. And the dirty channel picks up where the clean leaves off and goes to the verge of metal. Throw a overdrive pedal in the mix and there isn't much you couldn't play on the fly.Brad B

I have had it for a week and love it. It goes from super clean to full on metal overdrive. Price was good—delivered quick. Seems well built enough. The only thing I would change is to give the clean / classic channel some crunch so i could go from a light crunch to a heavy lead sound when switching channels because the clean channel is clean even when fully cranked. The DSL100 has a crunch option on the clean channel so it would be nice to have it here as well. But you can use the ultra gain channel and use the guitar volume to clean it up etc. I assume the clean channel would take pedals well from other reviews I have seen. Overall it rocks and gets really loud. Gig-able I think. Highly recommended.Tuckerman

I bought 2 of these heads to drive Marshall MX12 cabinets. I was previously using 2 Marshall DSL40CR combo amps. I thought I could save space by having the small heads instead. I was wrong. FYI, the DSL40CR amps sound great (mine are upgraded with Creamback speakers). First off, the amps both had horrific white noise when you turned up the reverb. 2) one amp made some weird static noise when you moved your hand around the face plate, touching the face plate actually changed the tone. I have never in my almost 30 years of using guitar amps had this. 3) The amps sounded thin and tinny. To the point they were unusable. I returned them for a refund and when both amps arrived at Musicians Friend, they stated that they only received one amp (although both amps arrived the same day). A day later the 2ne amp was marked as received. I received one amps refund on Saturday, and now I guess I have to wait till Monday for the second refund. What a joke. BTY, I also ordered a brand new EHX pedal when I bought the amps and they sent me a used one instead! Musicians Friend is such a joke now a days it's sad.MLM

I picked this up to use predominantly as a low wattage gigging head. I've since found myself using it for almost everything. PRS doesn't load a bunch of features into this amp. It is simply a guitar amp which is why it's as good as it is. This is a two channel footswitchable (included) amp. It has no effects or reverb. The clean channel is one of the best and most usable clean channels I have played on. It has its on eq and a treble boost. It would probably make a great pedal platform but I prefer to use it simply as a clean. The dirty channel can deliver anything you ask it to from classic 70's to modern metal. It has more gain available than anyone probably needs. If you know how to use the volume knob on your guitar you will find this amp to be very responsive. I keep the gain at about 10 o'clock and dual in what I need with the volume knob on my guitar. Both channels play extremely well with pedals. I've had the best results using the effects loop for time based and modulation type effects. Frequency and drive work great through the front end. I waited to review this until I got some rehearsals and gigs under its wings. This thing is built like a tank and travels quite well. For rehearsals I run it through a 4/12 with equipped with Celestion 70/80s. It's more than loud enough to get over a live drummer. It sounds louder than a 50 watt head I was using for rehearsals. Live I run it through a 2/12 and mic the cabinet with a 57. It sounds great and is very consistent. It's convenient size, durability, and overall sound have resulted in it becoming the first head I reach for in almost every situation now. This is a really great practical amp for any performing guitarist.Michael

Not a bedroom playing amp. Crazy loud! Huge gain! Sounds like a beast. More like 50 watts. At low levels it's sounds poor. But turned up it can't be played in a bedroom. Had the cops called twice on me and I live in a house with decent amount of space between the homes. Best metal amp out.Todd

To put it through its paces I used a tiny micro terror and a Mesa Boogie 2×12 cabinet. Using a Richie Kotzen tele and an EMG-loaded Les Paul Custom, I tried many different styles.I started off with the eq at noon and at half-power. The first thing was that this amp throws a lot of low-end. But it is not unusable in any way. It is just full. The only way to really experience this is by playing is I guess.The boost also worked amazingly. I do wish that is is footswitch-controlled because it throws a lot more gain.Then there is the lead channel. After experiencing the clean volume, I started with volume off and gradually brought it in. The highest I could get it without causing pain was 9:00. This amp is loud as hell! The lead sounded every bit as good as my Mesa Tremoverb and Road King , so I wasn’t missing anything in the gain department. Reverb would have been great, but I have pedals I guess.At the end of the day, this is the happiest I’ve ever been with an amplifier. I look forward to years of incredible sounds in a small package. I bought this amp because my gig amp died a cyber twin 2-12s 100 watts that was about 16 years old. I have had many Fender amps they were great. I do country and 50s and 60s rock and roll. I figured 100 watts would put it out there and it does. At performing volume, the distortion is a pure heavy metal on the clean channel. Mine is not much good for high volume for my type of music. I have an old champion 110 75 watt that I will be using It has worked for me when the others were down. Not sure what to do.stev_majo

Great starter/practice amp. It gives a great tone for a great price. Gives some really great crunchy distorted tones for metal and rock. Also gives a great clean tone. Has plenty of built-in effects too. It gets pretty loud when you need it to, and has a 3.5mm headphone jack for convenience and quiet practicing. I love this amp! It is a great amp. Very good sound and options for the price. It is not heavy which is a big deal to someone who has had back surgery. I gave it a 5 in spite of one big complaint. When you turn it off you hear a loud "POP!" Wow, is that loud is what I thought the first time I heard it. I read about it online and there is a simple fix. Find an old set of ear phones or ear buds that you would use on a cassette player or a Sony Walkman. (Yes, these are ancient electronic relics from the past for you younger people. You might ask your parents if they have a cassette player and borrow the ear plugs.) Just plug that earphone jack into the "PHONES" input BEFORE you turn it off. THEN you only hear a little blip when you turn it off. THEN just pull the jack out of the "PHONES" input before you start it next time.chasmigu

I use it with my Yamaha parlor 14-fret and Ibanez OO slotted-headstock 12-fret acoustic-electric guitars. With both, the sounds are rich and full. I don't need to fill a large room, just my living room. Even so, the volume knob doesn't even need to go past 9 o'clock for me to get powerful and distortion-free sounds.Boon

This was a surprise. I was sure this would sound decent but I was pleasantly surprised at the control & versatility. With a Stratacoustic, very clean & crisp, nice body. I tried all the normal dang Shure's everyone uses but this was great with a Blue Encore 100. Decided to try my daughters Roland Aerophone, very good tone overall. This would work for a little gig or practice of course, but for recording it would work well & of course you can mic this in a larger club/venue. Overall a fun, quality & versatile little amp. I was a little hesitant on buying this amp because of the size, but I decided to take a shot at it. I was very surprised at the power this thing puts out. I've been looking for a great, clean amp that would really accent my guitar's natural sound. I first tried the Blues Junior which was nice but didn't have quite enough warmth and power behind it, I needed something more. I did my research and landed on this beautiful Princeton. It has everything that I was looking for. I am an experienced player but also prefer not to have a super complicated setup with switches and pedals and knobs; this Princeton keeps the focus solely on the tone and sound. Yes, there is a reverb knob which can add a little more, but I usually keep that off. What's great about getting an amp like this is you really get CLEAN, crisp open/clean channels and can really hear your axe sing. Because of that, it also allows your pedals to shine without being bogged down with too much of this or that, or in my opinion not having enough power behind the amplification. This is a fantastic amp after owning it for 5 months. I constantly wonder about getting rid of other amps and just playing this one all the time. It's a "just right" amp. It's extremely easy to get along with. It sounds good in any room, is less sensitive to placement in the room than other amps I've owned, it's easy to dial in with different guitars. The Reverb & Tremolo always seem just right and easy to adjust. It seemingly gets along with just about any pedal/effect you run into it, but you don't need any FX or pedals with this amp either if you don't want them. If I had to think of a negative it's the vintage style food switch that comes with it. You can't mount it on a pedal board because the back is just press fit and the cable doesn't detach. I usually just wrap up the cable and put the foot switch in the amp for transport. It's no surprise these have been popular for decades.Ben

I went back and forth between the Princeton Custom 68 and the 65 Reissue, and settled on the 65 as I will make better use of the clean headroom and 'pure' clean Fender tone (compared to the darker, snarlier sound of the 68). The amp is fairly light (compared to other Fender amps) and a compact size for transporting to gigs, it has plenty of headroom for small to medium-sized shows but is quiet enough for home recording. The tone is beautiful, clear and sparkling, with a very characterful spring reverb and a subtle but warm vibrato. It's a simple amp with 1 channel, no mid EQ control, no standby switch – but it has everything I ever actually need to use on an amp. It starts to break up around 6 on the dial, which is pretty loud in a small room, so if you're looking for a crunchy amp then this isn't for you.Robin M.

Not only does this 5 watt lil' monster have enough power to rattle the windows, it also has class! At only 9 lbs. the Bugera T5 Infinium has enough "UMFF" to push your favorite 4X12" cabinet into the stratosphere! It's better having this reverb built into this lil' madman than not having any at all. Just like 9/10 of the other amp heads in its class. The 1 channel, "all tube" head has warm cleans. Push in the PHAT switch and crank the volume and gain and you get saturated distortion that will blow you away! All of that in a 9 lb metal cage like package for only $200! What it's not: Not a $1k boutique tube amp. Not a mid-size club amp (unless you have great monitors and a good sound guy). What it is: A well designed, very affordable little monster that will give enough stage volume at 5W for rehearsals in a full rock band or small club, and will also allow you to drive the output stage at that 1W or 1/2W setting for recording at home. The amp sounds best at 5W and driven into either a 4ohm cabinet or two 8ohm cabs. If you use it to drive an 8ohm cab, you are getting only 70% of its potential. I only use el84 based amps. i love their dark, throaty sound, and while this amp doesn't have the punch or snap I get from my 15W custom built el 84 amps, it sounds great for rehearsal or recording. I am a little bit worried about long-term build quality. The input jack is plastic. I have a hard time seeing that surviving a year of rehearsals without breaking. This is a great supplemental amp for rehearsals and recording. Very smartly designed. Good feature set. And if you like the el84 style sound, it delivers it above expectations at this price range. In these days of small solid state, practice amps, this little amp gives you tube tone and more at a very affordable price. A 12ax7 preamp tube and an EL84 power tube provide the tone along with built in reverb, 2 band EQ, gain and a "phat" overdrive switch for added crunch. The three stage attenuator is a nice touch. The stock Bugera tubes are OK but I switched them out with Tung-Sols which provided a rich creamy overdrive more to my liking. Great sound when plugged into my Orange 8" or 12" cab plus headphone jack for late night playing. Great amp for the price!Isom

I bought this on a hunch cause I use a line 6 pod hd500x. I recently bought a evh 5153 50 watt tube head as my one and only. I had to use the 4cable method to achieve a proper signal chain while utilizing the pre and power tubes. It sounded good and I thought I was content until I took this home. All I can say is WOW. I am running it on the left channel into a orange 212c cab @ 16 ohm so I am pushing roughly 175 watts. I will put this up against the evh without question. It has a pristine clean at the loudest of volumes. Combined with my line 6 pod it's unstoppable. I am returning the evh as a result today.B.Wills

I bought this to power both a Mesa 2×10 and a Mesa 1×15 Bass cabinet ran in parallel. I run into an Ampeg Scrambler DI Pre-Amp then into the Power Stage 700 and then into the cabs, and I have to say it is plenty powerful! It is also so clean sounding. The guitarist in my Hard Rock band just loves the clean power I get from this rig and I do too! The knobs are simple and responsive, it feels well built and it is very clean and sleek looking. I know these are mainly built for guitarists that use a digital amp modeler, but I am digging it for Bass with the Ampeg Pre-Amp in front of it.CJ

I run a Headrush pedal board to the powerstage 700 thru a marshal 4×12 cab. Run the board straight in the amp, set my rig (patch) and crank it up. This amp doesn't color your tone. Sound: The guitar came with Quantum pickups. I have Quantum pickups on another guitar, and they sound alright on my Jem Jr. However, they sound spectacular on this guitar. This may have something to do with the ash body on this guitar, vs. the Mahogany body on the Jem Jr.It is amazing that Ibanez can offer ash on a guitar in this price range, when Fender has stopped using ash on more expensive guitars. Features: The most useful feature on this guitar is the Edge Zero trem. As a matter of course, as I’ve done with my other trem equipped Ibanez guitars, I replaced the springs. The springs that come on these guitars are awful and won’t let the trem return to pitch. I replaced them with Floyd Rose extra strength, silent springs. Now the trem returns to pitch as good as my Floyd’s and original Edge trems.There is no string retainer on this guitar. If you put a few extra winds of strings around the post, it will increase the break angle from the back of the nut, where the strings exit. If you get the break angle right, you can lock down the nut without having to retune. Ease of Use: The guitar is quite playable out of the box, with the exception of the trem springs. There were a couple of high frets, but they weren’t high enough to cause buzzing with a normal action. I always do a level and crown as part of the set up anyway. Quality: The fit and finish on this guitar is excellent. I love the grey and black top on this. Definitely a looker. Also, the description of the guitar on the website, when I ordered it, said that the fretboard was Jatoba. Well, as it turned out, my guitar came with a rosewood board, which according to Ibanez’s website is what the guitar comes with for 2021.Also, the jack placement on the top, is really nice. The end to the cord doesn’t stick out. Just be careful plugging in. Value: This guitar is worth every penny I paid. I am quite pleased that the guitar is less than 600 dollars. Great bang for the buck. And zZounds makes it a no brainer with their payment plans. Manufacturer Support: I haven’t had to call Ibanez personally, but I have gone through the dealer before, and they have got fast service from Ibanez for me. The Wow Factor: This guitar not only looks good, but plays great as well. If you aren’t able to do work on a guitar yourself, spend the money for a pro set up. It’s so worth it. Overall: Well, I wasn’t sure what to expect, as I took a chance and bought one that was listed as minor blemish on zZounds site.It took awhile to get to me, but that isn’t zZounds fault. The FedEx hub in my state doesn’t have enough truck drivers, and delays at the Troutdale hub are just a reality at this time.It arrived well packed and it turns out that the minor defect was just a small crack at the neck pocket. This would have probably happened anyway, and it is really small.I did have to call customer service, due to a saddle adjustment screw rounding out when I set the intonation. Sounds got me a new set of these screws through Ibanez, and it only took a few days. So good on zZounds and good on Ibanez.Scott
