Look, just wanted to reply to some reviews that say this guitar sounds well…..thin. Duh, yes its not a jumbo acoustic or even a regular body acoustic. Its a thinline acoustic so it sounds just like what it is. Ive played several thinline guitars and they all sound…well…thin. That doesnt mean its cheaply made or a bad sounding guitar. It has its own sound. If you want a deep bass, then buy a jumbo or regular acoustic. I like the easy neck movement. The chords sound fine and this guitar doesnt require anymore tuning than any other in this price range. I tried ten guitars at guitar center including more expensive brands like fender, mitchell, yamaha and others and this was the only one under 400 dollars that stayed in tune from an E chord to a C chord. I bought it because Ive owned Ibanez before and never regretted it. To each his own but keep in mind a thinline guitar is not going to have a deep rich sound, but, I record my bass along with it so it sounds fine. After seeing some videos about this guitar and reading many reviews, I realised that it was a very good quality for the price!! This guitar is absolutely amazing, smooth, beautiful and the sound is truly beautiful, even better than I expected! I'm very satisfied! I live in Madeira Island and the product came relatively fast, for what I was very happy too!
I had been playing a very old and very nice acoustic at church for night service, and didn't want to subject it to the rigors of live playing on a regular basis. After some research, it came down to purchasing a Talman or a Stratacoustic. I went with the Talman due to the price, and Ibanez's reputation. When the guitar arrived, I was a little apprehensive as the neck felt awesome, but the setup was awful. The strings were heavy gauge, and were set way too high. After some work shaving down the bridge, changing to light strings, and adjusting the truss rod, this baby plays great! I love that the electronics are really easy to use, and it was made to plug in. The sound when you are practicing unplugged isn't as full or rich as you get with a full sized acoustic, but this guitar wasn't made for that – it was made to be plugged in. I was able to eliminate having to use pedals to get the proper volume and EQ, which makes the live rig way easier to set up and tear down. I play it through a Line 6 spider II 75 watt head running through a Marshall 4×12 cabinet. The spider's clean channel is great for acoustic as it does not color the tone, and the Marshall is plenty loud for a church sanctuary. Overall, I am quite happy with the Talman, even though I had to put in some extra work to get it the way I like my guitars. Bought without trying it out because I had seen a photo and decided I would like to try it but was out of stock for many months. Then it became available for $79 off and I jumped. – It came well packaged and in perfect condition. 'Played as well as it looked and it looks even better than the photos show it. The finish is as deep and glossy as any I have seen, and even the fretboard is bound. It seemed a tad bass shy at first but over the last few weeks has bloomed and now sounds beautifully balanced with tight well defined tones throughout the octaves and plenty of shimmer up high. 'Have not plugged in yet but it projects well without amplification and should be just fine for a small stage like a church or coffee house. I highly recommend this guitar to any enthusiast.Steven
I went to the GC in Palm Desert CA with a five-hundred dollar budget for a new acoustic/electric. There were three guitars that I had to play, but I was open to checking out others. I didn't see the Hummingbird in the room so I asked the clerk to check for me … he found one. Before he got back with the Epiphone, I had a chance to play the Guild and a Fender that were on my list, as well as a few that were not. The Fender was winning … until the clerk showed up with the Epiphone. The craftsmanship/fit and finish, the feel of the neck/action, the sound projection/tone … Everything about the guitar was perfect for me! I could not be happier!John
For the price it is exceptional value. Beautiful looking musical instrument. For me there are just two reservations. 1. There is no built tuner. 2. The pick up doesn’t work with my Xvive U2 wireless system. I have another electro acoustic, also with Fishman electronics, which does work with the Xvive U2 wireless system so I was sort of expecting this would to. Apart from that it is jewel of a guitar and punches well above its price tag.

Great for the price. It is a good idea to change the strings right away though. The guitar is playable from the get go however I did some adjustment on the rod to make it perfect. Its design allow for easy reach of the highest notes close to the body and the tuners and the electronics are good enough for a beginner to intermediate player. It comes with an entry level amp that outputs strong and high volume it is small but powerful enough for practicing indoors. All in all a great package for the money. This is a great guitar! I would honestly recommend it to relatively anyone. It has a great feel to it that would be exceptional for young players, but also has a good sound that's great for those more experienced. A bought the Epiphone PR-4E LE in vintage sunburst for a good price as the SDOTD. I have been playing for over 40 years semi professionally and I own a number of higher end acoustics but I wanted to purchase a "beater" that I could break out at a party and not have to worry about one of my intoxicated friends bumping or scratching it. This guitar seemed to fit the bill. The reason I gave it three stars is that although the fit and finish seemed very good, this is supposedly a student level/beginners guitar and the action that it arrived with would be difficult and frustrating for anyone to learn on. I do my own luthier work and I had to spend about two hours to cut the nut, take some relief off of the neck and shave the bridge down to get it to play well. I do not know if my experience with this acoustic is an exception but at this price point I doubt it. With that said it is a nice beginner guitar with a nice build quality, it sounds surprisingly full and rich and if yours arrive like mine I would strongly suggest taking it to your local trusted luthier and spend the extra cash to have it set up properly and have the action lowered. Now mine plays wonderfully and is fun to play. If I didn't have to do all the work to get it playing properly I would have easily given this guitar 4 stars but at this price point I kind of expected thatG-Man

. Now let me set the scene… I am a guitar lover (I can even play a little too) and a quality professional so My expectations are somewhat higher than most looking at this product. An absolutely beautiful instrument, this is my second SA360 and although they are no longer. Made in Japan, be assured they have not lost any of the build quality or attention to detail. The guitar was really well set up, is great to play, feels good in the hand and sounds the bee’s knee’s. If you are looking to start out in guitar playing get yourself an Ibanez Gio to start as a first upgrade from that, then the SA series is where you want to be at.Timbo
Overall: For 100 bucks less than a Japanese made RG550 I'll say the quality of this Indonesian assembled guitar is sub-par albeit correctable. All hardware was loose. Blase switch wast rubbing against finish. Tone and volume pots were pushed down into contact with body. Gold playing on bridge pick-up shows nickel plating already. Action was set so low that it was unplayable. Some frets are razor sharp at the edge of the fretboard. Neck and fretboard are dry as a bone, and need to be sanded and sealed. The grain was raised when I unboxed. Which basically tells me that there was very little if any polyurethane applied to the neck or fretboard. As with all Indonesian guitars ai take this as an opportunity to fix these little things on my own, but you are better off getting an RG550 Genesis. The quality is far superior. Also the paint is awful, and the plating on all gold plated surfaces are sure to deteriorate quickly. One note: Sounds has nothing to do with these inadequacies or defects. Ibanez should just seize operations in Indonesia, as should all other guitar manufactures. Indonesian guitars are ok enough to correct, but even at the 800 dollar mark you should get a 100% gigable axe. This is not at that level.
I've owned this guitar for a year. I own more than a few Ibanez, with about half of them being Prestige and the others being 80's/90's Fujigen Ibby's, 2010's Iron Labels and Premium. I love this RGA and it's remarkably well spec'ed for most anything a diverse player will want. What it isn't: it isn't a prestige and it doesn't feel like it. That's not a bad thing; the roasted maple neck is amazing, feels comfortable, but the fingerboard does feel a little different (given the wood type). The only real negative I find is that the finish (the actual finish) feels like it's very delicate. I can see this finish cracking easily with an everyday bump. I hang my guitars and pull them just to record, so not a n issue for me, but it definitely feels very delicate. The only other reasonable complaint is that for the pricepoint, it should include at least a gig bag. This is basically a 1,000 dollar guitar.

The neck is perfect, the action is great (Martin MA540 Authentic Acoustic Light strings 0.054-0.012). I haven’t a single complaint I can’t say whether the quality has gone up or down in the last few years. Mine is an earlier production model about 10 years old. They’re relatively common , You can find a nice used one locally in most cities for under $150. That way you can play and give it a thorough inspection before you buy it. I usually don't leave negative reviews. This guitar is beautiful, it sounds amazing. However, I just can't believe that guitar center would let this be shipped. The neck seems fine but every fret divider is razor sharp. It's so uncomfortable that I have quit playing it. Living in a small town it's very expensive to return stuff, so I guess it will just sit for now. To guitar centers credit, I have shopped there for many years and never been disappointed. But gee guys, why wouldn't you be checking this stuff? If I picked it off your wall I would never buy it unless you fixed it for me. Sorry but this sucksJohn
Tried out two of these at the local store looking for a first guitar for my son. Both sounded pretty good for the price point, but both had problems with the neck and really terrible frets. Terrible like not safe for children or unsuspecting adults – they both had sharp edges sticking out the whole length of the neck. Between that, some minor string buzz, a crazy high 9th fret on one, and iffy intonation on the other, it just didn't seem worth getting either of them. What's the point of getting a low priced guitar if you have to spend $100+ getting it worked over to make it playable? I suspect that the neck binding makes it difficult for the factory to really get the frets properly dressed and still pass cosmetic inspection. It may be I just had the bad luck to find the two worst examples of this model in the same store, but I suggest you move up notch in price range and you will be happier with what you get.triple.ratrider

Been playing guitar for just shy of 10 years, haven't really been an acoustic player but to my ears this guitar is well rounded. its got a good mid range punch, but it is very balanced. it does seem a little harsh in tone when compared to my buddys Yamaha dreadnaught's warm tone, it may be just because the strings haven't been broken in or the guitar itself hasn't been broken in. though they are completely different guitars. it did need a little truss rod set up out of the box to reduce some string rattle but after that its playing like a champ. the fretboard could be a little bit smoother but for the price of this guitar I cannot complain. the wide neck makes fretting chords and fingerpicking a breeze. overall this is a great guitar with great value.alaw
Even though advertised as including gig bag, instrument arrived without gig bag. Poor fit and finish on neck, back and sides of guitar. Advertised as "gloss finish," the customer service representative told me matter-of-factly that this guitar has a natural, matte finish. That would not bother me, except for the fact that the "matte" finish feels more like "unfinished"- it is very rough, with large bumps underneath that look like sawdust trapped in the finish. This is all over the sides, back, and the neck/fingerboard where the neck joins the body. These are not random rough patches; this seems almost like it was a feature. There are tearouts in the wood where the side pieces are joined together. The neck joint has a gap between the heel and the body. The finish at the neck joint appears to be cracked underneath the surface. I have another Alvarez Artist Series guitar (ABT60); the fit and finish on that instrument is perfect. I was trusting that another guitar of the same line would share that quality. Sadly, it does not. The customer service rep seemed unperturbed by this information, and asked me "so, what do you want to do about it?" Given the option of returning the guitar at my own expense, I was informed that if I wanted a refund, that would be honored, minus their original shipping cost. That would mean I would be out too much money. I could also exchange it for another product of similar price, or apply the credit towards a more expensive. For what a return would cost me, I may just keep it and try selling it locally on CL. I will not be buying any more instruments over the internet, it's too easy to get burned like this.Paul

Great sounding and playing guitar, I replaced the synthetic saddle for bone, original was to tapered on the high E new saddle took care of that. Buy the epiphone or roadrunner jumbo case, nothing else fits, make sure if the guitar comes straight from the factory you use a humidifier in your case for at least 6 months. Especially in colorado. Then if you leave it out without a humidifier that you dont have forcrd Heat or air conditioning vents close to the guitar. This guitar has great projection.Kenny
After purchasing this guitar from American Musical Supply, I was really nervous awaiting its arrival because this was actually my first time purchasing an instrument online. I’m used to going inside music shops and trying out different gear and playing guitars before I buy them so I know that what I’m taking home with me already feels comfortable and right in my hands. This guitar in particular, however, is not a style that is normally kept stocked in the stores for customers to test drive before they purchase. Similar models are available in stores near me but I think anyone who has ever wanted this particular model from Epiphone knows that they have heard and felt the beautiful sound that projects from this big guitar and I am here to tell you that my “leap of faith” online purchase was nothing more than a huge win in my book! This guitar looks, sounds and plays just as I expected it would with much more to offer once it’s actually in your hands! I’m personally a country/blues guy so this guitar definitely fits right up that alley in my opinion. It feels so solid in your hands and the tone is just plain awesome! The Jumbo body allows the sounds inside the guitar to reverberate through your body as it’s pressed against you before making its way through the sound hole where it flourishes into that awesome deep, thick sound. From the factory the guitar is set up beautifully and very playable right out of the box. Quality parts, quality wood and quality electronics as expected from Epiphone and very well executed in this model. Definitely worth every penny for the undecided guitarist but hey, don’t take just my word for it! Pick up this awesome guitar from Epiphone through these good folks here at American Musical and set yourself up with one of their payment plans if that interests you! I once owned a Gibson J15, that I bought from Guitar Center, and I loved it, but I always wanted a J200, I just could never afford one. Well, I ended up having to sell my J15 to pay rent one month, and I ended up having some extra money from it, and thought why not give the Epi a try? It's closer to the Guitar I always wanted anyways. I was blown away. It has all the high end stylings of a Gibson J200, maybe even more if you consider the built in tuner and cutaway features for about 3000$ less. Well, unfortunately I only owned it for about a week before my car broke down and I had to return my Epi to pay for the repairs. I've regretted it ever since. I would have rather donated blood 50 times than have returned that guitar. (Fortunately I just got my tax return and repurchased it, and it seems like it sounds even better than before). As I was saying, it stacks up against s Gibson guitar nicely, the shadow preamp isn't as nice as any LR Baggs system but it will certainly give you lots of usable sounds. I think this is the best guitar in the 500$ price range and I'm disappointed in Guitar Center for not carrying it in store. I'm a firm believer in the fact that having a guitar you like, you like the looks of, you like the feel of, will make you a better guitarist, and that's what this beautiful, fat boy jumbo acoustic has done for me. I actually like mine so much I decided to put some money into it for upgrades, and I haven't been disappointed. I stuck some Grover Keystone tuners on it in gold of course ( had them on my Epi Les Paul before and thought would look cool so I just swapped them), some Martin ebony bridge pins, and some D'Addario EXPs and this thing sounds unreal now. So, if you're reading this because you're unsure as to whether you should buy this guitar or not, yes, you should absolutely buy this guitar and never look back.Anonymous

I am an intermediate player. I was looking for a parlor guitar in part due to the guitar lessons on Active Melody, where the instructor, Brian, uses a similar model, which sounds fantastic. I bought a "scratch and dent" to save some money, but it is verydifficult to see the blemishes. MF described the cosmetic blems perfectly, but they were much more minor than I expected. My wife could not find them. The set up was perfect right out of the box. I put on new strings when it arrived, and have not put the guitar down since (about a week ago). I use it mainly for finger picking, and it sounds great. It is amazing to be able to purchase such a beautiful instrument for so little. I have several more-expensive guitars, including a 15-year old Martin D16GT and a newer Seagull S6, but I am drawn to this Alverez's warm sound and projection. It is also easier to play than the Martin. I had a bit of trouble finding a case that fits, but eventually bought the Luna LLFP. It much more sturdy and padded than the standard gig bag, and the guitar fits nicely. It is also much lighter than a hard shell, and about half the price. (But the case also arrived with a nasty chemical smell inside, but I guess this will fade.) In summary, I am very happy with the Alverez AP70, and I would highly happily recommend it to my friends. Bought this model to get back to playing after a bad accident stopped me playing at a time when I owned a seriously expensive guitar. Didn’t want to spend too much in case I couldn’t get back into playing but I can’t praise this guitar too highly. The tone is outstanding and it’s playability is second to none. The guitar is set up perfectly, no need to have it set up at your expense as with a lot of guitars out there. The build quality is superb and as it sits it the stand encourages you to get it off and play it. This model belies the price you pay because in my opinion it it a 400 to 500 pound guitar in all respects. It is delivered ‘mummified’ in bubble wrap to ensure safe passage and was delivered as promised. Can’t thank PMT enough for their advice. Great people to deal with. I wanted a small, inexpensive guitar that sounded good and played well. I pick up and play a guitar every night while I watch TV. The Takemine dreadnaught I was primarily using was carelessly broken and unremarkable. After reading about this AP70 and listening to Alvarez promotional and YouTube videos, I decided to buy this. It seemed like the thing to do, especially because of the low price and apparent sound quality; it seemed like the best value. It was on back order and wasn't supposed to ship until Feb 9, but I was pleasantly surprised when I received it on Feb 2. It was packed well and mostly in tune already. The construction quality is fantastic, and the sound was pretty good, but not as good as I expected. One of the other disappointments was that it wouldn't stay in tune and the intonation seemed off. After close inspection it seemed that there were not enough wraps of string around the tuners, the quality of the strings used were sub-par and more of a medium than a light gauge, making it difficult and frustrating to play. I immediately replaced the factory strings with Elixer bronze 80/20 nanoweb strings and that made all the difference in the sound, intonation, stability and playability. It's now an enjoyable instrument to play and a great value, in my opinion.The Deeski

I had initially ordered a PR150 at a screaming deal and was notified that it was on backorder (expected at the very low price). I then decided to step up and talked to Amber (CS) and she walked me through the whole process seamlessly and offered another screaming deal. The guitar arrived and upon inspection I saw that it was very attractive with no physical flaws. The next thing I noticed was that the strings had once been used to hold up the Golden Gate Bridge (expected and I have 3 different setsa to try). I tuned it and hit the strings—-WOW, despite the lousy strings this guitar had some very long sustain with a nice sound. I then checked the intonation—perfect up and down the fretboard. Having said all this YMMV. I will be playing it a bit and letting it acclimatize to this Central Ar. environ. I will then remove a very slight bow in the neck, dress the frets and install a lowered TUSQ saddle (I am not a guitar repairman, only a parts changer who likes to use his hands). The 5 stars is for the whole experience with customer service and the value/price point ratio of this guitar—once again YMMV. This is going to be a present to a luck graduate
I've never owned a full size acoustic but I've played on many, so I was looking at quite a few when I came to the Epiphone J-15. Obviously the price jumps right off the screen, so I figured why not pull the trigger, how bad could it be? Well surprise, it's not too bad at all! Upon unboxing the guitar I was immediately impressed with it's simple, yet elegant look. It's definitely a classic style you've seen a million times, but it looks much better in person than online. Mine came with no finish flaws or imperfections. Next it was to inspect the setup, and once tuned up I was pleasantly surprised to find the action was very close to the way I like it, and it has a comfortable, very playable neck. Now I'm not saying every one of these will come setup properly out of the box, but it's always nice when you get one that is. BUT all is not perfect, as to be expected at this entry level cost. Right about then is when I noticed that the fretboard is very raw and not too pleasant feeling to say the least. It's fine for chord strumming, but once you get into some more technical playing it can get a little "sticky" feeling moving up and down the fretboard. Fortunately that is an easy enough fix with a little sanding and finishing oil. Interestingly enough this acoustic guitar came packaged with a 1/4 inch TS cable from Epiphone, which is just plain odd considering it's in no way an electric instrument LOL! I'll take the freebie though, you can never have too many cables. All in all, if you're looking for a quality sounding dreadnought acoustic and don't want to pay too much, I think this Epiphone definitely hits the mark. Just be aware that you might need to put in a little work on the fretboard to bring it up to par.
Plays really well, and has a nice warm tone, and good volume and projection. Has binding around the edges and a Gibson style truss rod cover on the headstock. I don't like that stylized 'E' on the pickguard but I imagine the it will wear off over time. The neck feels really nice and plays well, has good action and smooth fret ends. The angled headstock keeps the guitar in tune well and looks nice too. The guitar sounds good plugged in, so if you're going to play gigs it works for that. I do wish that it had a built in EQ and volume, but it has none of that, just a peizo pickup and an output jack. I don't play plugged in very often so it's not a big factor for me. The output jack is built into the Strap pin, which I like, and there is a strap pin on the heel of the guitar neck. I definitely recommend this guitar, especially if you're on a budget, or want a guitar that you don't want to worry about getting beat up.SirJackalope

I’ve been playing a Taylor 310 for 25 years and was looking for something smaller and lighter to transport. Having read a lot of reviews and listened to the videos I thought I would try the GS Mini Koa and see what all the fuzz was about. This guitar sounds amazing! The Koa gives it a depth AND sparkle that you don’t expect from a small guitar. I keep asking myself does it lack depth compared to my dreadnought, technically it does but actually I don’t miss it because the sound is so full. The volume too is quite exceptional, I tend to strum a lot with a pick and don’t mind digging in hard….. this guitar just sings under those circumstances. It get’s louder and louder without noticeably going out of tune. At the other end there is such clarity and sustain that quiet finger picking also sounds great. You can easily hear a single note melody within a chord. Are there any downsides? Well if you have big hands then the reduced neck length may feel too cramped…. For me this is actually more comfortable than a full size neck but you wouldn’t want it any smaller. In summary I’m blown away, just amazing.David
Wow… what a stunner! Opening the case for the first time was quite an experience. This is a seriously beautiful guitar with beautiful craftsmanship. As a beginner with small hands (even for a lady) I have found acoustic guitars in the past to be very uncomfortable to play, the size of the body, the width of the neck, the high action, and after struggling with a Lorenzo Flame Series for the past year I decided enough was enough, electrics aren't almost impossible to play so why should I have to struggle with acoustic? I did some research and everything was pointing me towards the Taylor GS Mini-E series. Holding this guitar in my hands for the first time felt like a revelation. It felt like Taylor had made a guitar specifically for me – wearing a strap the body fits easily under my arm and my fingers just know exactly where they're meant to go. The sound of the guitar is rich and vibrant with a bright top tone – quite a feat in a parlour size guitar. After watching reviews it seems that this is due to the Koa body. The guitar also comes with soft, well-padded case that feels like it'll protect well from bumps and bruises whilst travelling. It has some nice shoulder straps so it feels like you're wearing a large (but light!) backpack. The best thing about this guitar though is that it's such a joy to hold and play that I can't put it down; my playing ability has increased so much in the past few weeks since buying it. As a beginner I absolutely recommend this guitar as an introduction to acoustic guitars. If you're a beginner and you've been playing an electric for while but want to get into playing acoustic, try out a Taylor GS Mini-e – it might be the one for you.Laura K.
Taylor is my dream acoustic guitar brand. And I always like the versatility and sound of a GS Mini in all versions: Mahogany, Spruce and also, Koa. Mine is Spruce 100% acoustic. It is worth to mention some details about how to extract the best sound of it: 1. The recommended string gauge is .13. Pay attention to all demos and YouTube video reviews. All of them use .13 string gauge. I recommend Elixir 16182 Phosphor Bronze Nanoweb HD Light Acoustic Strings 13-53. Despite to be not recommended to play on the sofa, it is so easy play on the couch with this guitar. Kinda made for it. 6. Comes with a well made not so soft bag, but still bag. Cons 1. Price, little bit steep 2. The back of the guitar is arched or little bit rounded. I’m sure this is by design to increase the resonance of the instrument but in some circumstances the guitar slips when playing it.

In You Tube in guitar forums, every review has something positive to say about this guitar well, they all saying the truth, this guitar is simply amazing. Not that loud guitar, with rich bass and very smooth treble, without the annoying sizzle of modern acoustic guitars, perfect for recordings. One thing that no one talks about this guitar is the fact of how reactive is to the pick thickness, thin picks sound drastically brighter than the heavy. Yamaha nailed it with this product I genuine believe in the future this guitar will be even more of a legend than it currently is. To get that sound and quality in American made guitars you will have to pay at least twice as much. One of my best buys for sure, I am thinking that I should buy the FS5.
I was looking for a guitar to focus on fingerstyle playing. I did my research and determined an OM/Concert style/shape was probably what I needed. I was prepared to spend several thousand dollars and initially considered several of the top tier brands. There are many available reviews of the Red Label guitars to include those with the Atmosfeel pickup system. I decided to go with this guitar and save money at the same time. Josh Sackett helped with the purchase through Sweetwater and always take care of me (I've purchased several guitars and other equipment with Josh). The guitar sounds amazing and the pickup system is incredible. The neck is the most important part for me barring the sound of the instrument. The neck shape makes playing very enjoyable, the fret work is perfect, the ebony fretboard is super smooth, and the guitar inspires me to play. I am currently focusing on fingerstyle but the guitar sounds equally good strumming chords. You could certainly spend more for other brands but I doubt it will sound any better or play any better. Couple that with the pickup system which allows you to dial in a truly rich acoustic tone (through a church PA system for me) makes selecting this guitar a wise choice. It comes with a high quality hard case as well.
This is the first upper tier Yamaha that I have owned and I'm very impressed. My first Yamaha was a FG200 bought in the Summer of 1973. This guitar looks similar to lower-end Yamaha guitars, but is actually a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BEAST! It is simple but beautiful, well-crafted, smooth-playing, and sounds really quite nice. The sound is deep and rich in the bass, strong and clear in the treble, and has a nice, strong mid-range. The satin finish is very thin and allows the guitar to "open up" it's tone rather quickly. It's an excellent instrument but not very expensive for a great workhorse and will work well for any kind of acoustic music. It is very close to a D-18 but HALF the price. A nice comfortable 7 string, with some great low end. it will djent if requested. i was intent on learning to play 7 string jazz, and just never found the time, so it's hardly been played. the back, sides, and neck are mahogany, with a spruce top. the neck is fast! it's got a big radius jatoba fretboard, so you can really move on it. it's not as thin as my ibanez, but still on the thinner side, and really comfortable. the whole thing is quite light too, much nicer than holding a big dreadnought when you strap it up.the fishman pickup sounds really good, and comes with a built-in tuner. the battery was low when it arrived, so i changed it, and it's easy to access. it's got a great black finish on it. you can tell from my amateur photos where you see the reflection of my camera.

So I originally wanted to buy a Taylor T5 because they feel so good and sound so awesome. This guitar sounds just as good as a Taylor T5 and about the third of the price. And its appearance is just absolutely beautiful. I was all set to upgrade the strings and set it up to my own preferences but once I started playing it it was just perfect. This is my first classic style guitar. Its heavy, really heavy, I thought it would be light to pick up. Its really well made. The pick up are great and very bright. Shipping strings are good. No case or cover, box was well done, awesome even. Has a nubone nut, had to lube quite a bit for tuning. I feel like its a bit over priced, but that might just be me. Again, its solid, like you can smack someone with it and it won't care. I love the head stock. I got this because my hands are falling into ruin from diabetes. I'm trying really hard to find a falt for it, its just a beefy hard core classic style guitar. Volume is pretty low. If your getting into nylon strings i'd recommend it. So after about 40 years of playing music and traveling everywhere I had never actually owned and played a hybrid acoustic guitar. I wanted a Taylor T5, so sweet. $2000 was more than I wanted to give to add to my collection of 30 guitars already. My I caught this gorgeous ESP Telluride acoustic electric guitar. Playing it acoustically was nice but running it through an amp I was extremely impressed with the overall sound quality specially wearing a suit of quality headphones such as you would use in a recording session. I had about a third of the price of the T5 the quality is exceptional, not as good as a T5 before the price it is well worth it. Last year I was in the market for a good guitar, tried lots of them, and finally settled on a Taylor 114e, which I love. But if this Mitchell had been in the showroom at that time I would have bought it hands down not because it sounds better than my Taylor but because it rivals it in tone for a third of the cost. This guitar just sounds great with or without an acoustic amp! It's mahogany finish is gorgeous to look at as well. It has a shorter scale than my Taylor but the Mitchell's neck fits my hand perfectly and plays fast. I also prefer the T333E's electronics over my Taylor's when recording through my mixer but when recording open mic the Taylor has the edge. It would have been nice for Mitchell to have put a strap button on the neck heel but no big deal. The tuners may turn out to be its weak spot but time will tell. All in all, I am very pleased with this guitar!rev44
I have a mx430 quilted ash burl model and, it is a superb guitar. I was looking for a second or a backup guitar and, Mitchell scores again. Was wanting the auditorium size and, really didn't care if it had a cutaway but, it had to have the good Fishman electronics. This particular model has all mahogany construction, never had a guitar that had this except a solid body electric. The sound is smoother and, not quite as bright as my other one, this I like very much. I had an open pore finish Les Paul and, the neck was open pore also, didn't like it the way it felt so, it went away. The neck on this Mitchell is satin finished and, very comfortable to play, no problems here. The open pore finish is really quite beautiful. Not to mention this model was on sale and, I scored an open box deal which made this even better! I highly recommend this instrument to anyone looking for a Great guitar at an affordable price. I have been a musician for over 50yrs and have had my hands on just about every brand of guitar out there and, Mitchell has shown me a quality instrument for a working musician's budget. I had to do a few minor adjustments when I received this but, not much and certainly anyone could do by themselves. I do this to every guitar I own, it's nothing more than just personalizing it to my tastes. Don't let the brand name push you away, I would take this guitar with me anywhere and, I will be using it on stage in a live performance!Terry
I was looking for an inexpensive acoustic electric as an alternative to my dreadnought. I tried a number of Breedloves, Epiphones, Ibanez and others. On a whim I gave this a try and was surprised by the sound, fit, finish and playability. The sound reminds me of a great old Guild I learned on. Very clear and chimney but not harsh. Great for fingerpicking. The neck is very comfortable for me with nice action out of the box and ample string spacing. Tusq nut and saddle a plus. Electronics better than expected. Also, very nice looking. I think it's a great value.John C

A lot of value, especially at the discounted sale price. Handsome design. But… Where is the quality control? Sharp fret ends, action set waayyy to low. major fret buzzing. several of the tuners were sticking. Rough edges on wooden bridge, strings are "rough" and lifeless. Pre-amp works well, but the tuner is inconsistent. Fretboard wood was really dry… did they store it dry storage? If you are willing to invest some time and effort like I did, filing the fret ends, raising the bridge, conditioning the wood, etc. it can serve as a first beginner guitar or a beater that I wanted. I'm no expert, but one can't expect a novice to take care of these issues. Getting a luthier to fix things properly, and you've doubled the price of the guitar. I've been spoiled. My other 4 guitars are medium to entry-level Yamahas, and none had these type of issues. BTW. the finish is not black, it is a charcoal grey and is distinctive. The neck is easy to play, but the sound and resonance is typical for a thin-bodied guitar. But, with a built-in tuner pre-amp, it's a decent value.Lawrence
Sounds good so far. First impressions: the "metallic black" is more metallic than black. It's really more of a shimmery dark grey than black; the pick guard which IS basically black contrasts more than product images suggest. Frets are a bit sharp at the ends, but otherwise, no major complaints.Jeff
The electronics didn't work well at all. I was able to sporadically interface with my Tonewood Amp, but it was hit-or-miss. I know it wasn't my TWA or cable that was the problem. I liked the sound of this guitar, and it was comfortable for my frame. The action was perfect for me out of the box…about as low as you can get without fret buzzing. However, all of the fret ends we're sticking out and would have needed filing. The fretboard and bridge wood seemed soft and rough. I suspect neither would wear well. There was a spot near the sound hole where it looked like glue had been smeared when the pick guard was placed on. That would not rub off. Gooey streaks elsewhere did clean off. There were some ripples in the finish around the sound hole. The color was more grey/gunmetal than black, and spray marks were visible in the paint. I got this guitar on sale at 40% off: $127.19, delivered. For that price I probably would have kept it had the electronics worked properly. I returned it.Regina

I had my eye on this since I got my first Epi, a Les Paul, a year ago. Just came today, apparently mine was mfg'd in Indonesia (some of the reviews mentioned made in China). The setup is great, nice low action but no buzzing on the fretboard anywhere. Stays nicely in tune (again it came earlier today but no issues so far!), and sounds great both unplugged and plugged into my Fender Acoustisonic amp. The fit and finish is quite remarkable for an instrument at this price point. The guitar is so much prettier in "person" than in the picture on the website or in the magazine. It's just….so nice and the wood is warm and rich looking, with nice tight grainy details as well. I am very happy with this purchase, only regret is having waited to do so! Been playing since 1973, so I guess that's 47 years if that helps 😉Rick
Overall: Excellent guitar for the money. You just can not beat the price on this guitar. The quality is of such standard you would expect to see on a guitar costing thousands. I bought this guitar based on previous reviews as well. And I can say I'm not disappointed. This guitar is being used mainly for recording purposes. It has a big bright sound that casts well across all octaves. The sustain on every note of this guitar including the high notes is truly exceptional for an acoustic guitar. The setup from the factory was great. No issues whatsoever. Another great purchase through zZounds. Extremely fast shipping as always and great customer service.

overall ths was a very sour experience rearding the guitar. i returned it and musicians friend is always absolutely wonderful with customer service and satisfaction. so im happy that i was able to return it features seem nice the guitar is beautiful and well put together maybe i got a defected model but the quality of the sound was very poor. it had a cheap guitar sound to it and the guitar had terrible buzz when playing, but i raised the action under the bridge saddle and it was better. also the guitar wouldnt stay in tune or even more when each string played open it was in tune and i would press down on a chord or press a string on a fret the tuning would be too sharp but play the string open and it was in perfect tune. i tried changing the strings but didnt help at all. very dissapointing but maybe that particular guitar was just flawed. this isnt the first time that ive played a guitar and sound quality was poor but normally its a cheap guitar this guitar sound not have sounded this way if my guitar wasnt flawed i would say the value would be great
Epiphone really built a solid performer, especially for a workhorse studio guitar. It is also performs very well unplugged or plugged in for those small to medium gigs. Should be a staple for any song writing guitar player. Unbelievable value for a guitar of this quality. This is my third one (gave first two over time as gifts to my son and a good guitar playing friend).koby1947
This is a wonderful guitar, especially at this price point! I got a really good deal from Musician's Friend. I expected a great guitar (I have several Epiphone acoustics and electrics, and am very happy with the quality of the Epiphone brand) and I was not disappointed. Great finish, great sound, especially through an amp. I especially love the on-board pickup/electronics- what a great sound! After changing strings to Earthwood .10s, the string height and action were just great- no adjustments needed. The workmanship was flawless, and the finish was beautiful. I already had a case that I had purchased for a PR4e, but a quality hardshell case is still available for a remarkably cheap price.. All in all, a quality guitar at a great price.huston

I originally thought that as a multitalented Musician and singer songwriter and R&B JAZZ music Recording Artist. That the only acoustic electric guitar that would work for me was the RICK TURNER peanut styled Guitar. But needless to say…I am very surprised at the well constructed Ibanez acoustic electric guitar. It really does the trick. Yes it needed a truss rod adjustment when I first took it out of the box and observed the neck and checked the frets and string height. But other than that ? After a few minor tweeks.. it plays very well. I would like to thank the people at sweetwater for helping me with the order. And because it does have a limited lifetime warranty ? You cannot beat it for the cost. Now maybe I can get Ibanez or sweetwater to hook me up with a very cool deal I need a hard shell case for it. Hummm ? $ is out of my range at the moment. Not sure ..lol but I love this guitar.. looking forward to using it on my up and coming 2023 album release. Yeah it's all good babie….
Overall: A bit skeptical of it playing/sounding good, especially in this price range. My hopes were not high, but just to be ok as a couch guitar. Surprisingly this little baby sings! Exceeded my expectations by far! It has some minor imperfections, but it just sounds and plays amazing for this price! No set up required. Just tuned her up and started playing. For the price, you should not complain!

This guitar has a warm bright tone easy action and is beautiful in design. This guitar is easily a favorite to me as it allows me to speak even when Im not sure what to say. Its design makes ecen an unseasoned guitarist sound like a pro. You definately will not regret purchasing this axe.tarquill61
I needed a low action 12 string acoustic guitar that wasn't the size of a battleship. Something I could practice on at home without annoying half the neighborhood. An 'acoustic' guitar that would give me stonkloads of volume plugged in but with absolutely zero feed back even when I'm standing right in front of the monitor. It also had to sound like an acoustic guitar at any volume level. Turns out that's exactly what I got. Easy…..now I need to get a case…turns out not so easy here in the UK. Why don't dealers buy in the correct case when they order the guitar? Or is this just an ESP thing? Anyway, when a guitar is this good it is not so easy to get annoyed.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
From the minute I unpacked this guitar, I cannot put it down. The neck feels just like my PRS SE 24 Custom. It is a bit wider to accommodate the 12 strings. The setup, from American Musical Supply was spot on. The Fishman electronics are great and match up to the Loudbox Artist Pro 120 w I have been playing it through. This guitar is designed to be plugged in. The thinness of the body, 2" makes it very comfortable to play, but, it doesn't have any appreciable sound projection capabilities. It is like strumming a 12 string solid body electric. Right after the new years. I will be picking up the TL-6 6 string and will retire my Ovation Elite TX from acoustic gigs. The workmanship and quality at this price cannot be beat. Buy it and enjoy it, you won't be sorry!
