Ok. We all know Behringer's plastic pedals are not the most robust, however the sound and features are excellent. Bought this on a recommendation from JHS's youtube channel and it hasn't dissappointed. If it were to break I'd just rehouse the circuit in an metal enclosure.andmello_3

i wanted to compare this to my boss hm-2 pedal but i can't get to it at this time, so i'll have to do this by itself. this is a very nice distortion pedal. again the plastic casing is durable and inexpensive ,so you're getting a good pedal for the money.the level and distortion controls are sensitive- i consider a plus. i do wish there was more bass in the in the low frequency control. now you might be asking, "why don't i cut back on the high frequency control?". here's why : the high frequency control appears to be a combination high frequency/gain control! the more you turn it up, the more gain. combined with the sensitive dist/level controls this is a nice feature if you want that. i like it . i can always boost the bass on the amp/EQ/whatever. i like to use different dimensions of distortions and if you are like me ,i recommend this.thurstonnalley

I guess I'm more of a roady/studio guy than I am an artist, as I've always got more out of turning knobs then actually playing music lol. I bought this pedal for one reason and one sound only. The Swedish "chainsaw" guitar tone of the 90's that came out of Sunlight Studios that was popularized by bands like Entombed and Dismembered. I think it sounds incredibly good considering I bought it NEW for 25 bones plus shipping! The distortion is sometimes a bit over the top, but cleans up when you roll back the volume knobs on the guitar. I imagine you could really get some interesting tones going if you paired this pedal with a compressor and eq both before and after it in the signal chain (and with Behringer that's actually an affordable option), and of course, a tube amp, as most of the bands with that sound supposedly used Peavey 5150 tube heads. Very nasty distortion pedal, if you could travel back in time to the 90's you could probably sell this to a metal head for absolutely ridiculous amounts of money. If you are not buying this pedal for a certain "Swedish death metal" sound or just metal in general, I would not recommend this pedal, as there are probably much better pedals out there for what you need. Its made out of plastic which I personally don't mind, as I'm not a touring or gigging musician. If I stomped on it several times a night for half a year I dunno how that would work out. Not a big fan of the color, but then again, I didn't buy this pedal for aesthetic value. Upfront…..it's a Keeley …and that alone tells anyone who knows pedals that it will be well built , decent sound quality and affordable…..but they missed the boat on this one and I expect a version 2.0 soon enough….the reverb and the delay cannot be stacked , either way , they can only be played independently. This was a big mistake on the design engineers or Robert himself. The gain/overdrive side of this pedal is excellent!!! And unfortunately I am stacking this pedal with an Oceans 11 while using their spring or plate modes. I will be pretty peeved if and when version 2 is released and the stacking in series or parallel is now useable. Otherwise I give this a 3/5 where it could have been a 4.5/5 easily!!!!!…….sorry guys …had to be honest …but I won't buy version 2 unless you take BACK this original version and modify it correctly!!!Chaotic Embrace Inc

Both the analog and digital delays are amazing. I can't recommend the pedal enough. I'm a metal guy at heart, so when I finally put the Metal Zone away and started building a grownup pedal board, a Tube Screamer was high on my list. I was particularly interested in this unit because of the size, since my beginner board probably isn't going to be very big. I plugged this little guy into my regular setup and was immediately blown away. If you've played some metal you know the setup: straight into a high gain amp, drive at 0, level at 10, and tone dialed in to taste. It made my Orange Micro Dark Terror, digital Bias FX rig, and even my sad old Marshall solid state roar, but in a much more defined way that never felt flabby or uncontrollable. I would recommend pairing it with a decent noise gate to trim down the hum, but that's just what electric guitars do when you crank the gain, and not a flaw of this pedal in particular. Okay, sure, it can do metal. I've also run this unit through a bunch of other setups and contexts. Through my Orange I definitely got very usable blues and classic rock tones by pulling the gain and volume back on the amp, and setting everything on the pedal around half way. I can even see potentially using it with the drive all the way up as a lead boost or to slightly break up a clean tone. This little thing is a beast for sure, and is pretty much perfect for my uses. It's not a transform your amp kind of effect, it's meant to compliment what your existing equipment already does. It has some specific things it does well, and it *really* nails them. #sweepstakesDan

Stop what you're doing right now. RIGHT NOW, and get this pedal. This tiny little monster sounds incredible and I am kicking myself for not trying any kind of Tube Screamer for my 20+ years of playing guitar. This literally sounds like a tube amp in a box. You can dial in the perfect amount of boost or drive without really impacting your guitar's true tone. If you push it all the way, it's almost in distortion territory, yet it retains warmth and picking dynamics…on the other hand it compresses nicely – like a tube amp. How does it do that? It's magic. I got this mini version because I'm building a mini pedal board, so it fits perfectly. Don't let the size fool you though, because it sounds incredible. The only drawback is that it needs an external power supply. Oh, and as an added bonus, this is made in Japan, and it shows. The switches, knobs, and inputs feel very high-quality. In my opinion, this is incredible bargain.Jamers

I collect Tube Screamers, and decided to get this for the collection. Soundwise, it works as a TS808; great transparent overdrive for stand-alone use but excels at boosting gain on an overdriven amp. Not as harsh or "dark" as a TS9, and a decent price. Definitely a TS to consider if you're trying to save some money; you definitely won't be missing out on the sound of the TS808. Also great if you want to add a Tube Screamer to a board, but need to save space. The only negative I can say is the Level and Tone knobs are difficult to see for settings, but that's true with most mini pedals. It doesn't take a battery, but there again, neither do most mini pedals. Construction is more solid than the Mooer Green Mile, and the TSMini is made in Japan (thought for sure it was Chinese). The price is great on these, but I'd also consider checking out the East River Overdrive by EHX; my current favorite Tube Screamer clone. As far as the Ibanez Tube Screamer line-up, this is seemingly the best value.Dave

How odd. This review was flagged for writing Big Mu** using the two F's 🙂 For the money, this is a really hard pedal to beat. It goes from mild and laid-back to wild and intense. The controls feel great…like as in excellent quality. This is a reissue of the original Big Mu** PI. I tried a Big Mu** PI with Wicker and forget about it. It hissed so loud in Wicker mode that I couldn't even here myself think and it got even worse with the tone switch off. And even in the so-called Big Mu** PI mode, it didn't sound anywhere near as good as this Rams Head does. And, the Rams Head is quiet compared to the BM PI with Wicker. One more thing, The BM PI with Wicker does not say anywhere on it nor in the included paperwork where it's made, whereas the RH BM PI clearly says New York City on the face of it…Vincent

Overall: Floats like a stone and stings like a nest of angry hornets! This box has the buzzsaw sound down pat. The fuzz is a thick, smooth, and consistent. I like this kind of fuzz in particular because it’s less fuzzy and little more distortion-like. The Tone knob has a really wide sweep from boomy bass to mid-range Hades. It has plenty of gain on tap and even sounds pretty good with the guitar’s volume rolled back a skosh.I’ve never used the original Green Russian Muff and have only heard them compared through videos online, so I can’t speak as to how they’re different/alike. I got it because I didn’t want to haul my vintage Black Russian Muff around from gig to gig anymore because it’s getting valuable and since it was a pretty jenky design to begin with, it’s liable to break with heavy use. That being said, the reissue Green Russian Muff has a different sound than an original V8 Black Russian Muff. It doesn’t sound as good to me, but it’s not so different that I wouldn’t use the Green Russian live in lieu of the Black Russian for the aforementioned reasons. One huge plus for the Green Russian is its pedalboard friendly size. The Black Russian is the size of an 80s metal lunchbox and took up an awkward sized chunk of the pedalboard. Now there’s more room for other unnecessary boxes (gulp)! One noteworthy ding for this pedal is how difficult it is to see the script on the top of the pedal. The words are printed right underneath the knobs, so if it’s kinda dark (which it usually is) and the lights are all in front of you (which they usually are) the words are impossible to see. Overall it’s a nice fuzz especially for the price. It’s noisy, but once the music gets rolling you won’t even notice it.Brad

When I recently bought a new amp, it had no reverb. Being that I have always used reverb on past amps I had to start looking for the right reverb pedal. With so many choices out there to choose from, I opted to find the most simple layout and operation, as well as overall good replication of a true reverb. This pedal fit the bill for me. Doesn't take up a lot of real estate on the pedal board as so many others do. And it only has 3 knobs vs many other pedals that seem to have too many. Operation is so simple and easy to tweak in your favorite sound. I love the PAD section for the ambient space sound. The plate and spring settings can be very convincing for a more true sounding reverb. Overall, I think for the money, you can't go wrong with this pedal. Built like a tank, as all MXR pedals are. Get an expression pedal to run with this and wow!mr_scotty

Its sad to say but I have owned this pedal 3 multiple times now. One thing that kept me wanting to buy this thing was the looks of the pedal and also the awesome MXR videos on Youtube. Its a very nice looking pedal and its also smaller than most of other reverb pedals out there which is a nice for any pedal board. The reverbs all sounds nice besides the spring reverb which just sounds digital to me. I dont know what it is with this pedal but I find that I get bored of it after a few days. The reverbs sound a bit bland and there is nothing too exciting about it. The most interesting effect would be the pad reverb but I find the effect to become annoying after time. Overall I find that this pedal would suit someone looking a subtle reverb with not much character.ausmusic

Overall: This is a great pedal. I wanted a better and more versetile reverb than the spring tank in my amp and this turned out to be a great solution. There's a range of different flavors of reverb, all of which sound authentic and overall great sound quality. The pedal is really easy to use and dial in a good sound. I also really like the tap feature on the tone knob that allows you to cycle through the different reverbs. Makes it really easy to switch sounds "on the fly." Overall very satisfied. It's a great option for a simple and great sounding reverb.Kevin

When I first heard In The Court of the Crimson King in 1969, I never dreamed I'd get anywhere near that orchestra with unstable pitch sound without a Mellotron. It took half a century, but I can now mimic those sounds with a guitar. Note that you must play simply, cleanly and carefully. There are no strings to bend on an actual Mellotron; no frets to slide over, so if you play that way, it's gonna sound awful. If you've ever used a guitar synthesizer, you aleady know how this works. "Orchestra" and "Choir" are really nice sounding. The rest less so, but just those two are enough.ir4143

Needed a reverb pedal as my recent amp purchase, Marshall Origin 20H does not have onboard reverb. Decent sound from subtle to cavernous. AN expression function on the switch adds more versatility. As a professional recording engineer I've been familiar with TC Electronic for decades. I've used TC Electronic gear for a long time in the studio and have always found it to be the best of the best. However, as a hobbyist guitar player I was not as familiar with TC pedals as I was with pedals by other manufacturers (MXR, Dunlop, Boss, Ibanez, etc…). I've been looking for a good reverb pedal to run in my FX loop because the reverb built into the amp is pre FX Send and since I play with tons of gain I have a gate (TC Sentry – also amazing) in the FX loop and the gate was cutting off the reverb tails. I considered a variety of Reverb pedals but ultimately decided on the TC Hall of Fame 2 for several reasons. First, TC knows reverb, their System 6000 reverb is 13,000 without the remote, 15,000 with the remote. And they are using algorithms from the System 6000 in the Hall of Fame 2 – pretty cool. Additionally, with Tone Print capabilities you get unlimited preset options and the ability to design your own Tone Prints. This is an incredible powerful and amazing sounding pedal. I have 37 years of Music/guitar playing experience and I am blown away by this delay. Ive have many high dollar delays but this little green box by tone city is rock solid. Literally its heavy and well built. Its amazing how well this lil green box sounds. For its tiny size it packs in a lot of gr8 sound. Tone city hit it out of the park with this one. I spend more time negotiating the mechanics of this pedal than I do simply playing guitar. In the heel down position, the pedal turns off. This means that if you're paying more attention to your playing than the rocking motion of your foot, you'll get a very noticable bypass bump in your sound (the best way I can describe that sound). While there is a hidden control to alter the speed of the bypass, it's not enough to remove the function while playing. Also, the boost doesn't really work for me but that may have to do the name of the effect rather than what it actually does. Boost makes me think of an effect that makes you guitar shine while giving it some volume. Behringers boost just does volume. The sweep on the actual effect ( the reason I bought a wa wah in 1st place) was not all that wide. That said, while I plan to buy a cry baby at some point, this unit will by used on my current recordings as it's better than no wa wah at all.JACOB

Need a new Wah-Pedal to replace my old Crybaby that has been crapping out for years. I've always liked Behringer products for years since they provide workman like quality for a very decent price. This pedal is interesting in terms of the extras like the EQ scoop and the boost button. Although I'm still figuring out how to best use those features. Time will tell there. If I have any complaint is when using the pedal, you really have to finess getting the wah to work at it's utmost. It seems to only really kick in when the pedal moves in a very small range. But when I do find that small window, it sounds great. For the price, it's worth trying out. #sweepstakesthemadcaplaughs

There are a lot of full-featured reverb pedals on the market today, most of them with some sort of shimmer/octave/pitch-shifting mode. A few things set this pedal apart from its counterparts. First off is just the amount of control you get over the processed signal. Being able to mix the signal heading into the reverb circuit, the reverb unit itself, and then the final blend, lets you get sounds that are just not possible on 4-knob units. Everything from subtle to watery to full-on church-organ psychedelia. Next, you get three memory banks to save your creations. You could use Red for no-frills reverb, blue for slight modulation, and red for the crazy stuff. Or just save different flavors of crazy stuff in all three, it's up to you. Lastly, you've also got the option of running it in stereo if you'd like (which really amplifies the effect), plugging in an expression pedal for realtime control of the reverb, and also plugging in a two-button controller to make the buttons more accessible if the Descent finds a home at the back of your pedalboard. I track usually 4 rhythm tracks, two of the exact same then two more of the same but with accents or harmonies etc as my main rhythm and I like it to be tight and sound like one guitar performance, the variations and accents and harmonies blend and widen the sound, also I use hard panning and other panning to make the guitar sound huge. With the guitar sound very close performance wise and tone/distortion quality wise, I find that it just sounds like one massive performance and the listener perceived it as a Randy Rhoads kind of singular performance. I'm the only guitarist and I play complex chords, this also let's be play parts of the chord separately for more even intonation and harmonics definition. It goes towards the big sound, I kind of learned from Alex Lifeson, Rhoads, and Hatfield and Wolf of Accept this approach as they all do the main rhythms and it sounds tight and huge. Mimiq helps me get the 4 tracks with only two performances and it adds natural sounding random variations that do what the multitrack stacking of individual performances does, it doesn't just uniformly cancel out all the interesting variations, which can happen if you just copy the same track and reamp. It does what I wanted to do, with less than half the effort.Mindcage

Bought to run a slight delay to a second amp more so than the "double track" thing. But actually this effect seems pretty decent. Did i immediately notice you can get phase issues? Yes of course. Did i get some of that notorious left right jump thing? Yes. But it seems to relate to using the pedal at the limits of what its happy with. For the price this thing is a keeper…because otherwise im having to spend big dosh on either the 30ms or the Deco. Buy this but be prepared to accept some limitations and bug bears. Most problems that people report on this are due to insufficient power supply. It draws 175ma so many daisy chain and power blocks many not be enough. Voodoo Labs Pedal Power have designated outputs (5 and 6 on Pedal Power 2 Plus) to supply 250ma for larger pedals which works perfect. Giving it too little power will result in swooshy clock noise, clipping at low levels and overall poor sound. When given enough juice, its dead silent and has no noticeable tone suck (that I can hear through reference headphones straight into clean amp). Sharing because I wish I'd figured this out earlier myself!TBIRD

Sound: Being my first delay pedal I can't compare it to others however it doesn't suck any of my tone. It doesn't even sound digital, cold, or sterile to me. Doesn't color my amps tone either. Make sure you use this in the effects loop however it does sound okay through the front end up my gain channel. Features: From what I can tell this has all the features of the original RE201 but in a compact stompbox. Ease of Use: This is the first pedal I've bought that the manufacturer actually provided sample settings in the manual.On the underside of the pedal has a diagram of how the different modes include which tape head sound. I found my favorite delay sound in a few minutes and now I feel like David Gilmour with this thing on. Quality: It's a Boss pedal. I'll never have reliability issues. Feels nice and heavy too. Value: This pedal is just like it's analog predecessor and those units are very costly on the used market. My friends RE501 tape echo/chorus unit is worth a pretty penny but my pedal does something his unit can't do and that is my pedal actually works. Boss could charge up to twice the price and still sell these. Manufacturer Support: Being a Boss pedal I'm sure the manufacturer support is great too. The Wow Factor: It does have a cool name "space echo". Sounds like something a martian left behind on our planet. It even smiles and winks at you. In fact maybe it's a space robot from another galaxy! Overall: I finally broke down and decided to buy a delay pedal. At first I just wanted an MXR Carbon Copy but after selling my second amp and having extra money I decided without hesitation to buy the RE20. I'm not going to say this is the best delay pedal on the market but it does an excellent tape delay sound for what it's worth. I really like the layout and the ability to mix tape heads and reverb. It doesn't take long at all to find a good setting either. I can't wait to use this with two amps either. I'll probably pick up the MXR someday but I won't need to.Joshua

A balanced metal distortion with a tight crisp sound. Not overly harsh like a lot of pedals, but maybe not enough bite if you want an extreme sound. The boost modes and tone controls a low for a nice variety of sound options. It takes time to dial everything in but Im surprised by how much character this pedal has. I read a lot of reviews and watched videos looking for something that was metal but balanced and this is spot on. Note that it does not have an internal battery compartment, you will need a power supply.Old metalhead

First things first, this thing is tiny, and it is POWERFUL. I don't think I've ever had the gain past noon, because I've never needed to. My amp is by no means a super high gain monster (EL84 circuit, 1×12 combo), but this pedal makes it one. For the kind of stuff I like to play (80s thrash, early death metal), I think it does a really good job. Between the three switch positions and a really flexible tone knob, you can get a really wide range of usable tones with it. When I showed it to my brother (a much better player than me, with a lot better gear), he was astonished when I told him the price. I almost had to pry him away from the thing. If there are complaints to be had, I have to echo one of the previous reviews in saying that the hi-boost adds almost too much highs to be useful. But I guess if you switch to a neck pickup and roll off the tone, it can be okay. If this one breaks (hopefully not), I'll definitely replace it with more of the same.Eric
