Reviews:
I wanted a simple, easy to use octave pedal to add some new colours to my sounds, this is perfect for that ! The sound is a really nice quality, it tracks smoothly and works well with my other pedals so I can simply fill out the sound, create nice lush harmonies or push things into some weird and wonderful places that are quite unique.Neil
Does exactly what it claims to. The upper fifth and octave sounds a bit synth-like when played clean, but when fed through an overdrive definately delivers the desired effect of a crazy, beefy sound. However, if playing clean and accompanying a distorted guitar, the octave up helps to solidify harmony lines without the synth sound being too noticeable at all. When using the octave down (with boost) you can make sounds like a tractor being sick (in a good way), which is always fun!Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

The sound quality is horrible. Sounds like the octaves are coming out of a tin can. Pretty decent paper weight though.buckreed
I've decided to order octaver pedal, so I was looking for Mooer one which known to be great solution. While searching for it I'd found this seller posted this pedal for very good price, so I've ordered it here. As for pedal it is really great for bass simulation and for specific shifting effects too. Please note that the padal comes without AC adapter, so it is necessery to obtain oneopeth.science
A cost effective alternative to the sub and up. Happy with what it doesChris L.
3. Tc Electronic Nether Octaver Effects Pedal
Product Details:
Nether octaver gets you the recognizable glitchy synth sound reminiscent of an old arcade game hall. use it subtly to fatten up your sound or use extreme settings for all out synth tones. vintage style sub-octaver all-analog circuitry true bypass with either one octave below or two octaves below at once mixed it in with your original signal, nether octaver beefs up even the thinnest sounding rig with obscene amounts of obese octaves. the pedal allows you to adjust the volume of each octave individually to fine tune your sound in detail.a dry knob lets you either eliminate your dry signal completely for straight synth tones or boost it a bit to use the effect as your solo sound. nether is not your pretty little polyphonic octaver with perfect tracking. it's a lowdown and dirty bottom-feeder, spitting and wobbling with all the glorious glitchy tracking that you know and love from the old days. the classic all-analog design gives you all the warm and glitchy synth sounds that you remember from the eighties arcade.

Reviews:
Regardless of the cheap cost, the ped is brilliant old school analogue octave sound. Only does octave lower not higher which I what I wanted. For 30quid its amazing. Also built like a tank. Only think to mention, if you make your own pedal board, this range of TC electronic pedals are longer and wider than your stand say boss pedal so make sure you measure 3 times and position once. 🙂Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

Reviews:
Bought this product because the real one was a bit above budget 😉. And I must say, it beats the real one by far. The sound is amazing, both on guitar and bass. A nice addition to the family that I will be using a lot. The build is sturdy, and it gives your guitar a warm synthie sound. I can recommend this pedal to anyone who wants that little bit extra.
Besonders jetzt wo so manches Energieunternehmen durchdreht.
5. Boss Oc-3 Dual Super Octave Guitar Effects Pedal
Product Details:
Excellent boss oc3 super octave and fuzz pedal. the reviews don't lie. just top notch sounds, easy to use, and the quality you'd expect from the biggest player in the pedal game. i had velcro on the back. the back label peeled a bit when i took it off. you can't see a serial number if that matters to you. there might be one under the back panel inside? the pedal is 100% legit. i'm sure i can get a digital receipt from east nashville music supply if necessary. i barely used it and it's in fantastic shape.

Reviews:
Chances are you need this for bass tones in the poly mode.. sounds great on some things, and not so much on others. The bass frequency sounds a bit artificial. You'll find that it also degrades the output volume of your signal as well, so a boost or eq pedal is a nice addition with it, it seems. I did use this in a Bose house surround system and it sounded absolutely stunning. A nice addition on the right song.William
Great pedal with the polyphonic mode and ability to limit the range of effect enabled only low note on the guitar to be taken to the lower octave. Great to have your own bass player under your thumb on the low strings. Highly recommended for solo players wanting to expand their tones into the lower octaves with good tracking of the original signal. Have no opinion of the other two modes on the pedal as I don't use them, the one I do use is great.Vin F.
The Boss OC-3 Super Octave is a fantastic guitar pedal for creating unique/different/interesting lead tones. I personally like mine set Level 04:00, Oct Level 1 03:00, Oct Level 2 (dimed) full on, and mode set to Drive. This works with my Gibson Les Paul Standard to achieve that Led Zepplin/Jimmy Page "Fool in the Rain" solo tone. If you are looking for a different sound this is a good choice. The OC-3 is capable of so much more too. Boss pedals really are the best. I have been playing guitar for over 34 years and have been through tons of gear. Boss pedals sound great, are reliable, and are easy to replace especially if you travel as every music store carries them. Please remember this is just my opinion as sound is very subjective.
6. Jhs 3 Series Octave Reverb Pedal
Product Details:
The jhs pedals 3 series is a collection of pedals designed to give you affordability and simplicity without compromising quality. each 3 series pedal is made by jhs in kansas city, mo, using high-quality parts, quality control, and attention to every detail. in the early 1980s, brian eno invented an effect called “shimmer,” which was popularized in u2’s the unforgettable fire (1984). the effect mixed ambient reverb and octave effects in the reverb’s decay. the 3 series octave reverb is jhs' take on this classic effect that has been used for decades to allow the guitar to create pads and textures that fill out ambient space. toggle up layers in upper octave sounds, while toggle down layers in lower octave sounds.

As Julius Cesar said when crossing the Rubicon: "The die has been cast". I am an avid pedal enthusiast, as my 42 pedal pedalboard will attest; and I have had a few flangers before, but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING compares to Josh's flanger. I could add to this review but it will not do anything for you: JUST BUY IT! YOU NEED IT! THERE'S NO OTHER FLANGER LIKE IT! YOU'LL REGRET NOT HAVING THIS CLASSIC IN YOUR COLLECTION A FEW YEARS FROM NOW. Trust me, I'm a Doctor.
I can get this pedal to do three things: a very subtle reverb that adds a touch of space, a room-like reverb, and a super long-tailed ambient reverb that's so expansive it almost sounds like it's mixed with delay. There are other reverb pedals for a bit more money that have more options built into them-spring, plate, hall, room, shimmer, modulated reverb, and so on. With this pedal I find it difficult to switch between the different sounds since it's a lot of knob fiddling. It does sound absolutely killer, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but I don't recommend it if you want to easily switch between different types of reverb. For me it will be more of a "set and forget" pedal for long ambient reverbs.Andrew
I was recently using one pedal board for all my guitars, and the chorus I had was mainly designed for use with acoustic guitar. Now I'm rearranging things to have one board just for my electric guitars and all I needed was a basic chorus pedal of quality build and tone. I knew from reviews the JHS 3 series was perfect for me. I've been playing for 57 years and have owned pedals in the $100 to $500 range to provide my chorus effects. No matter if I had mulitple options in some stomp boxes I usually settled on a good subtle setting, so I knew there was no need for me to get anything fancier than the JHS. It sounds are good as the little blue Boss Chorus I bought way back in 1980.Jon

Output Impedance | 100 Ω |
Reviews:
Overall: I have become an even bigger fan of Slash since his work with Myles Kennedy. I feel like he is one of the most melodic rock leads out there at the moment (just my opinion).I was really surprised by how much I actually like this pedal. It is really easy to get some awesome sounding riffs with this pedal, the tone is beautiful on this with the octaves. The build quality is superb as expected from MXR. I have bought a few new MXR pedals in the last few months and I have yet to find any complaint about them. Looking forward to a long relationship with this pedal!Matthew
I got this pedal because I’m a slash fan, this pedal is great at getting close to the lead tones for solos on paradise city. It is also just a great octa fuzz to cover all needs. I’ve been trying different placements on my board both before and after the wah. It’s a fun pedal to experiment with.Liam
I heard the demos online and liked the tones. I tried it at the store, played around for about 5 minutes, liked it and bought it. At home, i plugged it in and fell in love. I have a POG pedal which I love. I run one of my distortion/od/fuzz pedals into it and love the sounds. I thought the slash fuzz would be similar, but it has a totally unique sound. By playing with the fuzz, tone, octave up and octave down knobs, you can really get some cool, fun tones. I write original music, so was instantly inspired to write some cool riffs. Leads sound great too. It's got some interesting characteristics. For example, when you turn down the volume on your guitar, it doesn't seem to trigger the octaves as much. But, when you turn it up and bang on it, it gets fat. I love that about it. It's like it has personality and is moody. The pog + od has a metallic, chimy sound at lower volumes. This one doesn't. You can strum a chord lightly and it will sound somewhat clean. Then you hit it hard and it summons octave goodness. I also experimented with turning the "Sub octave into fuzz" off and hitting one of my dist/od/fuzz pedals. Even more tone options. The "Up" button is cool cause you turn on/off the upper octave. This is killer for some sonic variation within a song or to switch to a solo. I'll definitely be adding this sound to my stuff.
8. Boss Oc-5 Octave Pedal
Product Details:
Get the best of classic and modern octave tones with the boss oc-5 super octave pedal for electric guitars and basses. this pedal combines a spot-on recreation of the legendary oc-2 with modern enhancements for scultping your octavized tone. vintage mode will give you the sound of the original pedal, albeit with better tracking for instantaneous octavized sounds. poly mode allows you to track chords perfectly, complete with its range knob on the -2 octave. new to the oc framework is an octave-up control, to give you sounds reminiscent of a 12-string guitar, or to enable you to play fat triple-octave lines. this pedal offers a bass/guitar switch, so you can better tune the voicing for your particular instrument. if you wish to route the isolated octavized tone to its own destination, you can, thanks to a dedicated direct output. otherwise, the pedal gives you the classic 1/4" instrument i/o path for traditional pedalboard implementations.

Reviews:
This pedal manages to deliver in every application. Vintage mode is my favorite, and the tracking is excellent (but also delightfully glitchy as was the OC-2). Poly mode with the adjustable lower octave is very useful as well. Unlike other octave pedals this thing sounds incredibly fat, with a nice mid-heavy octave sound that really cuts through a mix. And as usual, boss pedals are built like a tank.Todd
Still doing some tweaking since I've only had it a week. The tracking it pretty amazing and the option to dial in how many strings you want to have affected in the Poly mode is a great addition to it's multiple options. So far I've gotten some some very desireable sounds and expect to get many more out of this built like a tank great Boss pedal. If you want a great octave pedal, this is it IMO. The shopping experience with Sam Ash was first rate as well!Pat B
I`m using this effect on bass just to have another trick in the bag, to me it sounds better on the D & G strings. It doesn`t come with a power supply and it is very picky about it. I`m using it with rechargeable 9 V batteries in order to avoid another cable on the floor and it will last me for about 10 hours. With batteries pay attention to the LED, the moment you see it dim replace the battery or it will stop sounding in no time.If that happen performing, you can remove the output cable and plug it into the "direct out" jack until you can replace the battery. And yes, it will drain out the battery if you have the cable connected to the pedal even if the pedal is "off" that`s why I replace the battery before a performance or practice with the band.Or you can use a power supply and avoid all this.Made in Malaysia. It is solid and well made.Alex

10. Mxr M103 Blue Box Octave Fuzz Distortion Pedal
Product Details:
The mxr blue box takes your guitar signal, fuzzes it up, then duplicates it 2 octaves down. you control the output and the mix between the dry signal and the effect. using it 100% wet is quite an experience, but more recognizable sounds appear as you dial in more dry signal. the blue box is known for having a chaotic personality that can make each session a totally unique experience!
Specifications:
Power Source | Battery |
Voltage | 9 Volt |
Sensitivity Level | -56 dB |
Color | Blue |
Output Impedance | 20 kOhm |
Reviews:
Overall: First off, THIS ISN'T A PEDAL FOR EVERYBODY. The Blue Box is an ancient design – from around 1974. It's glitchy and works best on the A, D & G strings in the upper registers (above the 10th fret or so). And it isn't polyphonic – single notes only. Now, having said that, the sound it produces is truly unique to this pedal. Thick and wooly! I had the Boss OC-3 Super Octave and HATED IT. (It's best function is as a paperweight.) The biggest complaint I have with this pedal is that it isn't very loud, the volume drop when you engage the pedal is quite hard to miss. I solved that problem by running the pedal into an MXR Classic Overdrive. If you want to blow up a small guitar amp, this may be your ticket. I find it's best to palm mute the strings. Any extraneous noises interfere with the signal processing. I would indeed recommend this to a friend but with warnings. It may not work too well in a live setting but it's a great studio toy. Jimmy Page's solo in 'Fool In The Rain' is probably the best known use of this pedal but Wings guitarist Jimmy McCullough put one to good use on 'Wino Junko' from the 'At the Speed of Sound' album.Mark
If you're interested in a fuzz pedal with a lot of range, you should look somewhere else. If you want a pedal that makes fat sounding low-end buzzing noises, than this is the pedal for you. With the blend knob at 0 it has a very bland gentle fuzz that isn't very interesting on it's own. I can definitely say, if you're interested in this for a normal fuzz pedal, don't get it. The blend knob at half will get you a mixture of the normal fuzz with a mixture of the pedal's signature -1 octave buzz. I find having both octaves audible to be a bit distracting because the low end is very unwieldy and usually just sounds like mush underneath the conventional normal fuzz. With the blend knob at full you get the pedal in all it's glory, an 8-bit Nintendo deep bass buzz. Anything you play lower than the 12th fret on this setting will sound like static. Above 12, you can get some fantastic deep sounds that will really raise eyebrows among people who never thought a guitar could achieve those type of sounds. On it's own the volume and fuzz is pretty low, and I would recommend putting it though either an overdrive pedal or a distortion pedal to really make it pop. Don't get me wrong, it's a great pedal to have in your arsenal. It's essentially a bass pedal (something almost akin to the bass-line of Nirvana's "Breed"). It's limitations however make it a one song pedal (hence Jimmy Page's usage of it for one song and then throwing it aside). 70 isn't a whole lot to ask for a great song though. I don't regret buying it, but I'm not exactly overjoyed with it either. I usually bust it out to friends and they get a chuckle when I play the Super Mario Bros. "Underworld" theme. If you're tight on money, you're much better off looking at other fuzz pedals that for 10 extra will get you 10 times as many sounds. If you've got the scratch, I would recommend seeking out the DOD "Buzz Box". It was a custom pedal that DOD made for Buzz from The Melvins that basically takes the Blue Box and mixes it with a nasty distortion. They don't make it anymore and it's expensive, but it's a forgotten classic that blows this pedal away.

What can I say?! This is my 5th purchase from JUNORECORDS , bought it on Tuesday got it Wednesday. Now for the product. It's like all Behringer Pedals , Light and plastic but by no means does that effect whats inside. Ultra Octaver has a fantastic sound , pitch perfect with the option of having the original signal on or off and anywhere in between..You can also change between which tonal area you'd like to effect with Hi , Mid and Low settings switch. Oct 1 increases the amount of signal of the altered sound one octave below and Oct 2 below that. This all gives you a bass accompaniment at you feet!! All in all a really good pedal at a really good pricecolinfingers1
I wanted a bass guitar, but this is way cheaper. If youve already got a looper pedal, just stomp on this bad boy with your neck pickup, roll down the tone and youve got a fat bass sound for a fraction of the price. If youre looking for anything more than that, fair warning this pedal warbles a little depending on the guitar frequency. Overall tho, its a great little pedal and theres pretty much nothing that comes close for the price.domparaan
12. Tc Electronic Sub 'n' Up Mini
Product Details:
The sub’n’up mini octaver from tc electronic is a pedal designed for electric guitar and electric bass. it utilizes an octave-engine which can achieve both monophonic and polyphonic tracking, giving you the ability to create shimmery tones reminiscent of a hammond organ, or a squelching bass line—all from the same instrument at the tap of a toe. two octave registers are provided via three knobs, so you can blend signal that is one octave up and one octave down on the pedal itself. you’ll also note the dry knob, which lets you dial in unprocessed signal to taste. like many tc electronic pedals, the sub’n’up is toneprint enabled, giving you presets custom-tweaked by artists that can be beamed straight to the pedal from a tablet, phone, or device sporting the toneprint app. it is also worth noting that you can create your own custom toneprints within the app itself. sonic signatures of the original sub'n'up can be loaded in this mini counterpart via toneprint too; basically–when compared to the original–you lose some hardware features (a knob and a switch), gain some room on your pedalboard, and sacrifice nothing in the way of tone. a bypass switch, which can be adjusted between true and buffered settings via an internal dip switch, allows you to turn the effect off and on. a power supply is included with the pedal. specifications controls dry knob up knob sub knob bypass/engage switch i/o 1 x 1/4" instrument input, unbalanced, phone type 1 x 1/4" instrument output, unbalanced, phone type bypass true bypass, buffered bypass optional impedance input: 1 mohm output impedance 100 ohms power input standard 9 vdc, center negative current draw > 300 ma power supply included usb port mini-usb port for uploading/editing custom toneprints, as well as software updates dimensions (h x w x d) 3.7 x 1.9 x 1.9" / 93 x 48 x 48 mm package weight 0.55 lb box dimensions (lxwxh) 4.0 x 2.6 x 2.3"

Reviews:
I love this pedal. The option to have one octave up and two down allong with the sry signal is great and creates a full sound. The tone is great, both the poly and classic modes, but the toneprint option is the real winner. Creating sounds and importing pre-created ones is a great way to dial in exactly what you want to sound like.
This pedal takes your playing to new lows! You can play with the settings and achieve amazing effects, the knobs are offering; 1 octave lower, 2 octaves lower, 1 octave higher, and so you blend it at your own taste. But the best part is probably the TonePrint, it is an App that you get for free in your computer then you have access to a wide variety of settings, effects and you can save them to your pedal, this is an amazing feature from TC electronic. Im using together the Sub n Up with the Hall of Fame 2, amazing results. You can use them both not only with bass but they work amazing with keyboard as well. Same day or next day dispatching, tracking code, unbeatable shipping price, safely packed, it took less than 10 business days to reach Kazan, Russia. Thank you.
I've been looking for something to make my guitar sound like a bass for years. There have been several octave shifters, but mostly monophonic and producing ghastly warbling sounds. This subnup pedal produces a good sounding bass using just the sub1 control, and adding the toneprint smooth bass patch turns it into a really nice punchy bass that reflects the tone of the string you are playing so you can get anything from a bright twang to a deep boom just using your fingers and there is no noticeable delay in the conversion, you play a note and it sounds immediately – older pedals used to have up to a half second gap between playing and hearing the note. This pedal does heaps more than that, several YouTube videos show it off, but I didn't see any that showed it being used to replace a bass when you just need it for a few songs and don't want to bring two guitars with you. I haven't had a chance to play with the tone editor yet, but that promises even more variation. Great pedal at a good price.Robin D.

14. Pigtronix Octava Micro Octave Pedal
Product Details:
The pigtronix octava micro is an expanded version of the octave up found in the original pigtronix disnortion pedal. this all-analog frequency doubler has an on-board low pass filter control that allows you to achieve singing octave up tones, anywhere on the neck, without adjusting your guitar’s tone control. stable intervals such as octaves, 4ths and power chords result in gnarly, tweezed out grind, while other intervals create ring- modulator textures in all registers. drive, blend and fuzz controls have been added to the original 2-knob design for added signal power and overall flexibility. a variable drive circuit on the front end allows the musician to tailor the harmonic response of the of the octave circuitry to suit any set of pickups. the octave up is wired in series before a fuzz circuit that can be activated by a push button switch, allowing this micro pedal to produce the devastating, full-wave rectified distortion found in the original, large-format unit. the entire drive, octave, fuzz effect can then be mixed with the original clean signal using the blend control to taste octave up feature allows you to achieve classic 70's tones! massive fuzz tones in a tiny chassis! variable low pass filter for pin-pointing tone volume knob for serious amp driving power!

Reviews:
I admit that I'm fairly new to fuzz & octave fx. I've had a hard time finding and Octavia that works with a variety of guitars and pickup combos. I plugged this in, set everything at "noon" and played. It immediately responded with a useable tone. With minimal tweaking, I found a tone that worked on both my clean channel and on my dirty channel. It responds nicely to singles & p90's, and I only have to touch the volume on my LP to get a good tone. The bridge pickup offers a nice filtered, clipping fuzz tone, and when you use a neck pickup inside the 12th fret, it absolutely sings. I'm selling my Hoof Reaper.Poontwang77
This is by far the best octave up pedal I have ever used. I can get awesome octave sounds anywhere with any pickup selection and make it as clean or dirty as I want. The size is perfect and you can get the cool ring modulator sounds by using more than one note and it sounds good in a musical way.Daryl
15. Boss / Oc-5 Octave Pedal New Standard
Product Details:
Old meets new in the most versatile octave pedal yet. the boss oc-5 is the new flagship octave pedal and sets a new benchmark. building upon everything good about the previous models, the oc-5 incorporates innovative upgrades to deliver the new industry-standard in octave effects. these include a new dedicated octave-up control, guitar/bass selector switch, and variable range control to choose which notes get harmonised. the biggest upgrade, however, is the elimination of latency, so you don't need to worry about any delay between you playing the note and the octave sounding. boss have upped the game with the oc-5, and created the most definitive octave harmoniser yet.

Reviews:
I am an analog octave up (AOU) fiend. So when the this pedal came out, I had to try it. I tested it against a Green Ringer clone. Unfortunately, the Tentacle has an inherently harsh quality. You really have to adjust your rig's EQ to remove its ice pick sound. Other AOU pedals have a softer quality to them. While this pedal, with a fuzz, is bearable, I judge an AOU as a stand alone effect. Decent Green Ringer clones give more warmth, musicality, and overall practical use at about half the price.Sidewalk Sally
I matched it with my favorite fuzz and I was in business!!! It's very good at letting my amps tone to shine through.Eric
