Mono M80 Electric Guitar Case For Sale (2024 Update)

A brilliantly well made high quality guitar case that I specifically purchased for travelling. I often use the electric part of the case for carrying clothes whilst I travelling. Back straps are adequate, strong and comfortable to walk long distance between venues. All together I'm well pleasedTrevor B.

The zippers on these bags are junk. they need to use heavier top notch zippers. the zipper on the smaller compartment areas is too small for real usage. Not sure why they just dont use the larger zipper on EVERYTHING. The a 3 point velcro rings for the tick bag should be 4 point (it sags on the single point if the tick bag is packed). where they strap at the top with 2 points is good, but its a bit wonky on the single strap in the middle because what happens is if you are carrying the guitar by the handle the tick bag sags down at that point a little bit. The guitar bags are kinda spendy but if you've invested into it, then the company should go the extra mile.I just wonder how much these guys have really travelled gig after gig with these bags. They are better than most out there though but also a lot more money too. I just think they need to use better zippers and add better/stiffer sidewalls for the guitar cases. My rig is heavy and wonder how long the guitar bag shoulder straps will last too. They seem sturdy, and so far so good. I play a Les Paul and the case could have stiffer sides for a heavier guitar. If you play a Strat or Tele then you're probably OK. Also, the smaller compartments are pretty much usesless too. they try to compartmenalize everything and all they need to do is keep it simple becuase NOTHING fits into the tight little spaces inside the pockets, unless you carry a lot of pens? I like spaces large enough for a couple extra pre-amp tubes, and slides but most of the inside pocket spaces are way too small for anything except, sharpies, or cable tips? . Someone who designed it must have carried a lot of pens/sharpies around because nothing else fits into them. I'd rather see a single zipper or velco space where you can just stuff everything itno it. Overall its a decent bag and better than most gig bags but these arent inexpensive either. The larger compartment could open a bit wider too. Its pretty small compared to the picture.effective.edge

Hands down this has been the best gig bag i have ever purchased and likely the last until it has to be replaced. I had previous cheaper versions and they were just that, cheap. This MONO bag has been a huge upgrade and im so happy i made the decision to get it. The linning inside makes sure the finish is well protected and the neck strap and support block are such a great insurance knowing guitar is not going to swing around in the space. The storage is great holding all my cable (both 1/4 inch and Kemper pedal cable) In ears, picks,spare strings and even having both guitars loaded (An ESP telecaster and PRS 7 string) its not a bad weight evenly distributed when strapped on your back. Outer shell is extremely well made and looks like its going to stand up to the road well. Bottom has rubber treads to set it on the ground without worry. If your looking at it but are scared of the price dont be, after your first set you will be glad you got itDaniel

Overall: Upon delivery, packaging was noticeably well done. After romoving the case from the packaging i was immediately happy with my purchase. I bought the ash colored sleeve and it looks perfect. The bass that im storing inside is the new Shecter J4, also purched from zZounds and delivered in perfect condition as well. I digress, the sleeve is study and fits great. Plenty of room in the main pocket for new strings, a couple pedals, tuner, cables, pretty much whatever i would need to take along. Definitely work the price for such a great looking gig bag.T.j.

I've had this case for two years now, it will protect your bass well and it is made of high quality material which is not likely to get torn easily. This is as far as it goes for me on the upside. It is incredibly uncomfortable for anyone whose back isn't flat and the straps are two close to each other. I'm riding about half a mile on my bike with it a couple of times a week and I always finish the ride with neck pain. The pocket is diagonical for some reason and you can't fit your stuff nicely without having them all rumbled up a few steps later. Also, the flap…who thought of that? Avoid this case, there are alternatives with sufficient protection and much better back and neck support as well as decent storage space.Ronypony

Very well thought out gig bag. The ability to load upright is very nice. As is the little office pocket on the top of the headstock. The rubber "boot" is light and bouncy, and the extra thick padding is very protective. Shoulder straps are comfy too, and the big pockets hold a lot if needed. Mono should mention that these will hold a JUMBO. My Taylor LKSM 12 string just fits in it. Somehow a GC does not slop around much either!!! I now have three… Hope this helps someone.guitars44me

I give this bag only 3 stars because unless Gator upgraded the bag or is making it in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase. I bought one of these for a Sterling by Music Man bass as I was under the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). As the photos indicate, this bag will work for a Fender P Bass, but the Fender FB620 is a better bag for that and other Fender bass guitars while presently costing 10 less than the Gator while offering better protection and features. The Gator GB-4G seems to be more of a universal fit bag accommodating a wider range of sizes. The thing it seemed to have going for it the most was its zipper which seemed heavy duty. I say "seemed" because I returned the bass and so the bag as well.Vice

I bought a used guitar for back porch jamming. Needed a gig bag that didn't cost more than the guitar ,but would keep it safe and clean. Stopped at Sam ash because I was certain they had a variety of gig bags. Not my first visit or purchase.The Gator gig bag I chose is the economy for dreadnought guitars by Gator. Great price for my budget and well made. This bag is perfect for my needs. Easy carry and my guitar is covered.Just enough padding in all the right places for my guitar. I'm giving this bag only 3 stars on account of the price increase; for it used to cost about 4-5 less than the Fender FE620 but now costs about 10 more than? Unless it has improved features or is being made in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase as the FE620 gig bag provides better protection and features (for Strat size guitars anyway). I purchased one in May 2021 and only because as I was of the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). I should have sized things up beforehand since the Sterling by Music Man Cutlass I bought the bag for is essentially a slightly shorter, slightly sleeker version of a Strat (for which the FE620 was made). The best thing the Gator bag seemed to have going for it was the zipper which seemed rather heavy duty while mesh pockets on the front of a gig bag aren't particularly practical while being subject to tearing/ripping. As you can see by the photos, there's too much room in the bag for a Strat size guitar (though one might be able to insert the headstock into the bag's internal top pocket to prevent the guitar from sliding around too much in the bag). The Gator GB-4G ELEC Series Gig Bag is more of a universal fit bag better suited for guitars longer and/or wider than a Strat.Vice

Great case by Mono! I like the extra pocket on top for smaller items such as picks, capo, slide and business cards. The wheels are nice but I doubt I’ll be using them much. Is it worth the extra $100? Not sure on that but it will last me a longtime and is top notch quality. As always AMS delivered it in a couple days.Scott

Ok, things I love about this gig bag! It's looks great, super thin and sleek. It's pretty comfortable (I say "pretty" comfortable bc I'm comparing to my Fender FA gig bag which is SUPER comfortable). It has a lot of pockets to hold things, and has a pretty amazing magnetic "across-the-chest" strap that's super easy to use and really helps distribute the weight. It also seems like it provides rock solid protection for my EVH 5150 guitar (knock on wood). Things that I was slightly disappointed with. The pockets. Yes, there are a lot of pockets to hold things, including laptop sleeve compartment that can fit up to a 16" laptop. However, the pocket doesn't expand as much as I thought it would and anything that's the slightest bit thick really get compressed in there. Also the laptop sleeve is on the front of the bag and the thin layer on the outside doesn't seem that protective of the front pocket. It's thin enough that I'm not sure I'd trust a laptop there? My MacBook Pro cost 2x the guitar LOL The other small pockets are great for picks, strings, etc. but even my clip on tuner was a really tight squeeze in those tight pockets. Overall still recommend this gig bag bc of it's main function: Protects guitar great, looks awesome, comfortable, easy to use and transport. This is a solidly-built gigbag fr people who demand a lot of their equipment. If you just need something for home-to-rehearsal, save your money. I bought it for the vertical load-unload, as I remove my guitar many times a day, in crowded settings. I also need something very sturdy: even $200.00 bags only last a few years for me. The vertical idea works, but is only modestly easier than just doing the vertical thing with a regular gigbag. Drop-proof padding under the lower bout of the instrument is, however, outstanding. The longevity of both the shell and the lining remain to be seen. I was glad to find that there is more storage space than I'd expected. All in all it's well worth it, if you need the vertical load combined with excellent build quality.Scooter

TLDR: 10/10 would buy again, check dims of bag to make sure your powered guit-fiddle fits. Combat proven. Padded well. The review: This case is awesome. This is what happens when a high end airline proof hard case mates with a high end gig bag and has a baby. Lower end hard cases exit the chat when Momo Vertigo arrrive. The durability is crazy. That youtuber 60 cycle hum dropped a guitar inside from his pad's 2nd story roof and the thing made it ok. Check youtube for the action. The only case that would protect better is airline proof hard case. A regular hard case would offer protection but they don't have as much padding as this. If you had a fender in a fender hard case and dropped it from 2 stories, you'd have splinters of wood in guitar colors (and maybe some hardware that might work?). The airline ready hard cases would probably cover it. A nice touch is it has the chest strap like really good hiker day packs have. The upgrade would be if it had that body fitting harness that hiker day packs have, but the packpack straps really help regardless (and kudos to when this was standard feature for gig bags). This doesn't have extra pockets like other gigbags, Gator gig bag but the protection exceeds this like star bucks coffee beats out gas mini mart coffee. I have a gator and that is a good gig bag but it doesn't offer as much protection as the vertigo. Near the top, other gig bags would have a top pocket, but the momo instead has extra padding. They could add extra pockets, but it would increase the size. I like the size for the protection level it gives. For me it doesn't matter (I bring in a backpack). This does run expensive and I've read on the forums that some guitars might not fit (like 7 or eight string speed axes with non standard meaning tele or strat, with long scale neck ) or baritone electrics in this case, so measure and check against the internal dimensions . . . Momo does have bass version so those guitars might fit in the bass ones. There is hardly any negatives, well there's a post here where someone says its too heavy and thick, but this does get close to being heavy as a good hard case, so . . . well that's the point so it can protect your axe. I tend to think posts like that are kinda leaning to user error, like those infamous yelp posts where they give 1 star to a top rated sushi joint and then they say they didn't like the food, food was bad, under cooked etc . . . and they preface their post with they don't like seafood / allergic to seafood and ding the sushi place for lack of variety.HIro

I would call this more of a soft-shell case, rather than a traditional gig bag. I don't believe in the claims that this protects more than a hard-shell case, but it is much lighter, and noticeably better than most flimsy gig bags out there; and its waterproof as well! Of course, as with any product, it has its issues: one, the accessories compartment could be bigger, and I don't understand the slanted layout, it just seems to sacrifices space for aesthetics; two, this thing came with a lot of tags attached with plastic barbs, which are pierced through the case, so once you remove them there are holes in the outer layer, which kinda negates the whole waterproof aspect a little; also, one end of the barbs are inside the fabric, so you can't get to them; three, it is a bit expensive. Overall, it's not perfect, but it is much better than your typical $20-50 gig bag, and I do feel much more secure with my guitar in it than I did with previous gig bags. I would recommend only through a discounted price, as I did.hchoe741

Beautifully designed and very attractive. It is perfect for short-term transportation of a Fender guitar. Well padded, with pockets for carrying extras. Excellent value for such a reasonable price. I love my Fender Telecaster and American Stratocaster, and I trust this gig-bag to keep them safe in short-term usage: taking to gigs or carrying the guitar personally. Obviously, for journeys where the guitar might be in the hold of an aeroplane or a van/bus, a hard case would be preferable, but if you are transporting a guitar personally, then this great-looking bag does the job brilliantly. Perfect fit for Telecaster – just snug enough. Padding is adequate for general use – glad I chooses 10mm over 5. Pockets hold cable, extra strings and picks but full size sheet music and such must be folded. Comfortable handles, good zippers, and backpack straps are padded and comfortable. This case has a narrow profile which stores easily. Materials are of high quality and appear durable. Grabbing case by top can cause tuners to move causing need for re-tune.geri-82

At first glance it looks pretty minimal, but I wanted something lightweight for a guitar that would be carefully handled–by me. Although the padding is quite thin, it has a nice heft to it and provides better cushioning than some bags I've used that are much thicker. Also, it fits a Strat like a glove, and the padding is in all the right places, so there's no flopping around inside the bag, so the guitar is really very well protected. There's only an outside accessory pocket, but big enough for a strap and extra strings. If you need a lot of features or think the guitar will be handled roughly, then maybe this isn't for you. But for most players, it's a nice bag, very light in weight and provides very good protection if you use some common sense…Lefty

Purchased this case for my Fender Precision Bass. Mostly, will be kept in my studio, and occasionally on a few short gigs. Case seems sturdy, and I like the compartment size suitable for a strap, cable, etc. Also features a locking latch which is very handy. Pricewise, its a very nice case for my needs, without going into more expensive flight cases for touring. Very satisfied and should last for quite a while. Would buy this product again. Decent case for the money. Dimensions are a little off from whats advertised. Lower bout width is around 13-1/4 instead of 13-1/2 so my BC Rich Eagle fits a little snug. Overall, no more than I use it, itll work. Sure beats paying $300 for the actual BC Rich case. Also, if your headpiece sets at a steeper angle, it will put pressure on the headpiece. I had a cheaper dual gig bag that I had used for years to get to gigs. But as I got better, my basses got a little higher end and I wanted better protection for them. I had previously purchased a single Mono M80 on a whim and was using that for transport to practice when I usually only need the one bass. It's worked well and held up so I'm sure this dual model will too. I also got the "Tick" to pack-in my necessary cables and gear in one swoop. I can move it between my single M80 for practice and my dual for the gig eliminating the need to bring in my duffle bag of gear. That can stay put in the car with my spares until needed, freeing up a hand for the amp. Mono seems to be a good brand and I trust it to protect what's top end for my budget; my Stingray 5 and my American Deluxe Jazz V.Zeta05

Excellent Bag! Excellent quality!! This bag will last you a life time. My only concern is that it gets very very heavy when you put two basses into it. Right now it is holding two older MM Stingrays, and the bag weighs a ton! It's not a bag that I would constantly carry with me. Despite weight issues its a great bag!Ferd

I purchased this item to protect my Gibson Les Paul Custom Signature Series Guitar. As reviewed, the interior is extremely plush. The exterior looks quite dependable for all intent and purposes. Like others noted, the points of contention are the metal pieces attaching the handle preventing a 5 star rating. It is illogical to spend so much time on every detail "except" the parts supporting ALL the weight of the instrument. It appears that with a given amount of weight shift, the support brackets may snap off allowing the case to fall down in the direction of the headstock and potentially cause damage from impact. Since this case will very rarely see time outside of my home, I feel fairly certain the few times I need to transport my axe, I will be careful.1amun_re

Cheap shell covered with vinyl. Cheap handle. Cover is falling off where the case curves in. Stitching is a joke, not real. It should sell for about $40. At least it fits my guitar. Not even close in quality to a Road Runner for about the same price.nolens

i ordered this with intentions of getting the most for my money. I don't have big bucks to spend, but I wanted certain things and I got what I hoped for. I wanted enough length to accommodate the longer-than-typical headstock on my LP copy Bradley. The measurements were clearly lined out. The rest of the fit was perfect and plush. My only criticism is the metal bracket that secures the nice handle seems a little thin, but I expected there to be a little give-and-take somewhere, for this price. I'm pretty handy and will figure out a way to reinforce it. If not for this I'd give it 5 stars! FYI, Standard Shipping meant US Post Office, at least in my case. Very nice overall. It feels sturdy and should protect my guitar well. The only issue I had right out of the box was the stitching that connects one of the clips to the backpack strap was starting to unravel. Luckily, I have someone in myhouse hold who can sew and was able to mend it, otherwise I would have sent it back for a replacement. I just hope the rest of the materials stay securely in place.Stan the Man

Very light but great protection. Love the way the guitar loads into the case from the top. No need to lay down the case to get your guitar in and out of the case. The bottom rubber protection is solid and a great addition.Scott

This is my second Mono Gig Bag. I also have a M80 for acoustic. I looked at every bag in the hybrid case category. Mono's attention to details are second to none. Details such as a the hard grip/boot on the bottom. The rubber like trim to keep the bag from sliding. A large compartment that can carry a multi-fx like a Digitecch RP360XP. In fact, in the Vertigo, I carry this and a LR Baggs PARA DI, the 3 button switch for the Digitech, cables, and power supplies. And, it fits very easily; not jammed or stuffed. The Mono holds the guitar snuggly in place, but allows easy removal while the case is upright which is something I began doing with my M80 although not designed that way. I have as much or more confidence in this bag's protection as any OEM hard case. If you carry your guitar and gear frequently, this bag is well worth the money.Turp

My stock PT PRO bag started coming apart after a couple dozen gigs. I really, really contemplated just buying a whole new board but I've got two power supplies mounted to mine and it's still in great shape. SO to protect the $1000s of pedals on it, bought this with a coupon. This thing just feels better. Craftsmanship seems excellent, materials seem excellent. The handle is so much better designed that my ridiculous pedalboard seems lighter in this bag. Is it truly worth full price? Hard to say yes – it's expensive. With a good coupon? Yes. If you really want to keep your pedals safe and don't want a huge hard case, I think it does the job well but have only transported with it 4 times so far. The case is well made and provides good protection but the trade off is that the thickness of the foam makes it a very large casejemdrum

I have purchased a number of gig bags and cases trying to find something high quality that would protect my Uke and still be practical and convenient for transport. This case is by far the best I have come across. Fits my concert size Ukes perfectly, very protective, carries very nicely. Has just enough storage for a tuner, some extra strings, pencil and more. I would recommend this as a step up from most factory gig bags and a nice alternative to a standard hard case.B

I bought this case for my wife's Martin C1K concert ukulele. I think it is a good investment to protect your instrument. Very well padded. This case rivals good quality hard shell cases. It is light weight and constructed very well. It should last for a lifetime. The design is very functional with a nice main pocket for extras like strings, tuners and other things. I give this bag only 3 stars because unless Gator upgraded the bag or is making it in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase. I bought one of these for a Sterling by Music Man bass as I was under the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). As the photos indicate, this bag will work for a Fender P Bass, but the Fender FB620 is a better bag for that and other Fender bass guitars while presently costing 10 less than the Gator while offering better protection and features. The Gator GB-4G seems to be more of a universal fit bag accommodating a wider range of sizes. The thing it seemed to have going for it the most was its zipper which seemed heavy duty. I say "seemed" because I returned the bass and so the bag as well.Vice

I bought a used guitar for back porch jamming. Needed a gig bag that didn't cost more than the guitar ,but would keep it safe and clean. Stopped at Sam ash because I was certain they had a variety of gig bags. Not my first visit or purchase.The Gator gig bag I chose is the economy for dreadnought guitars by Gator. Great price for my budget and well made. This bag is perfect for my needs. Easy carry and my guitar is covered.Just enough padding in all the right places for my guitar. Also accessory zipper compartment.Lindy

Very nice overall. It feels sturdy and should protect my guitar well. The only issue I had right out of the box was the stitching that connects one of the clips to the backpack strap was starting to unravel. Luckily, I have someone in myhouse hold who can sew and was able to mend it, otherwise I would have sent it back for a replacement. I just hope the rest of the materials stay securely in place.Stan the Man

I'm giving this bag only 3 stars on account of the price increase; for it used to cost about 4-5 less than the Fender FE620 but now costs about 10 more than? Unless it has improved features or is being made in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase as the FE620 gig bag provides better protection and features (for Strat size guitars anyway). I purchased one in May 2021 and only because as I was of the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). I should have sized things up beforehand since the Sterling by Music Man Cutlass I bought the bag for is essentially a slightly shorter, slightly sleeker version of a Strat (for which the FE620 was made). The best thing the Gator bag seemed to have going for it was the zipper which seemed rather heavy duty while mesh pockets on the front of a gig bag aren't particularly practical while being subject to tearing/ripping. As you can see by the photos, there's too much room in the bag for a Strat size guitar (though one might be able to insert the headstock into the bag's internal top pocket to prevent the guitar from sliding around too much in the bag). The Gator GB-4G ELEC Series Gig Bag is more of a universal fit bag better suited for guitars longer and/or wider than a Strat.Vice

I made a small acoustic guitar pedalboard and I wanted to be able to carry all I need on my back. My mono guitar gig bag plus this tick is making traveling a piece of cake. My hands are free and that's what I wanted. Plenty of storage in the tick for my small pedal board and cables. If you are thinking about getting one… DO IT!!!Britt

The Mono Tick 2.0 is fantastic and fits almost every small bit of gear I have. A nit-picky thing I have found, after loading it up with my gear, is the pen sized pockets on the inner flap are too small for most things. I was able to fit my Maton Tuner in the biggest pocket which was great! and the miniature usb cable for it in one of the pen sized pockets. I really would have liked to have seen more of that size and less of the pen sized pockets to get the most storage space out of it.Andrew C.

I still give this a 5star rating. For the price it's excellent. It's very comfortable to carry. The latches are easy to use. It's durable, much better constructed than a case that sells for $30 less that I looked at. It fits my 35" string length MTD 5-string with length to spare. Drawbacks: Obviously no concealed compartment inside so everything is visible when you open it at a gig, so a pouch for those private items is useful. (The lid seals the two aux compartments so things don't fly around loose.) I have to rotate the top tuner flat or the tuner rests on the bottom of the case (something to remember and never forget although not really major). "TSA Approved" implies you'd be flying with this thing… not a custom fit case to careful inner packing would need to be considered, right?Steve

I was looking for a case for my Sterling Ray 34 bass. I saw a previous review on here stating that they bought one for their Ray 34, and that it fit perfectly. So I bought it based on that. It fits darn near perfectly. Nice long neck support. 2 rather large storage compartments. Plush (chocolate colored) interior. And the TSA latches are tight and secure. If your looking for a nice, reasonably affordable case to protect your investment. Don't hesitate to give these cases a shot.Bill

Well the measurements were accurate and there was some padding that helped with enough space for my large bass guitar. A B.C. Rich Mockingbird bass ('84) that has a strange and beautiful shape to it. But many cases don't fit it. Some custom cases are hundreds more than this one and I'm thankful that it fits well. A little tight on the lower horn but it fits! I like the two spaces for misc. stuff. The light is a great added feature but haven't really used it yet. But nice to have it for that situation where you will need it. Its sufficiently different on the outside from a similar model so there is no confusion between my 2 basses.leonardo_rhema
