Mono Vertigo Electric Guitar Case For Sale (2024 Update)

This is a solidly-built gigbag fr people who demand a lot of their equipment. If you just need something for home-to-rehearsal, save your money. I bought it for the vertical load-unload, as I remove my guitar many times a day, in crowded settings. I also need something very sturdy: even $200.00 bags only last a few years for me. The vertical idea works, but is only modestly easier than just doing the vertical thing with a regular gigbag. Drop-proof padding under the lower bout of the instrument is, however, outstanding. The longevity of both the shell and the lining remain to be seen. I was glad to find that there is more storage space than I'd expected. All in all it's well worth it, if you need the vertical load combined with excellent build quality.Scooter

TLDR: 10/10 would buy again, check dims of bag to make sure your powered guit-fiddle fits. Combat proven. Padded well. The review: This case is awesome. This is what happens when a high end airline proof hard case mates with a high end gig bag and has a baby. Lower end hard cases exit the chat when Momo Vertigo arrrive. The durability is crazy. That youtuber 60 cycle hum dropped a guitar inside from his pad's 2nd story roof and the thing made it ok. Check youtube for the action. The only case that would protect better is airline proof hard case. A regular hard case would offer protection but they don't have as much padding as this. If you had a fender in a fender hard case and dropped it from 2 stories, you'd have splinters of wood in guitar colors (and maybe some hardware that might work?). The airline ready hard cases would probably cover it. A nice touch is it has the chest strap like really good hiker day packs have. The upgrade would be if it had that body fitting harness that hiker day packs have, but the packpack straps really help regardless (and kudos to when this was standard feature for gig bags). This doesn't have extra pockets like other gigbags, Gator gig bag but the protection exceeds this like star bucks coffee beats out gas mini mart coffee. I have a gator and that is a good gig bag but it doesn't offer as much protection as the vertigo. Near the top, other gig bags would have a top pocket, but the momo instead has extra padding. They could add extra pockets, but it would increase the size. I like the size for the protection level it gives. For me it doesn't matter (I bring in a backpack). This does run expensive and I've read on the forums that some guitars might not fit (like 7 or eight string speed axes with non standard meaning tele or strat, with long scale neck ) or baritone electrics in this case, so measure and check against the internal dimensions . . . Momo does have bass version so those guitars might fit in the bass ones. There is hardly any negatives, well there's a post here where someone says its too heavy and thick, but this does get close to being heavy as a good hard case, so . . . well that's the point so it can protect your axe. I tend to think posts like that are kinda leaning to user error, like those infamous yelp posts where they give 1 star to a top rated sushi joint and then they say they didn't like the food, food was bad, under cooked etc . . . and they preface their post with they don't like seafood / allergic to seafood and ding the sushi place for lack of variety.HIro

I would call this more of a soft-shell case, rather than a traditional gig bag. I don't believe in the claims that this protects more than a hard-shell case, but it is much lighter, and noticeably better than most flimsy gig bags out there; and its waterproof as well! Of course, as with any product, it has its issues: one, the accessories compartment could be bigger, and I don't understand the slanted layout, it just seems to sacrifices space for aesthetics; two, this thing came with a lot of tags attached with plastic barbs, which are pierced through the case, so once you remove them there are holes in the outer layer, which kinda negates the whole waterproof aspect a little; also, one end of the barbs are inside the fabric, so you can't get to them; three, it is a bit expensive. Overall, it's not perfect, but it is much better than your typical $20-50 gig bag, and I do feel much more secure with my guitar in it than I did with previous gig bags. I would recommend only through a discounted price, as I did.hchoe741

The Vertigo is about as good as it gets for gigbags. The top load design really give way to protecting the body of the bass. This case provides more protection than any other gigbag Ive used. I make sure I zip it up when not in use, so stuff doesnt get down in to the bottom of the case. With a traditional fully unzippable case, you can open it up and see the whole area, easily cleaning it. With the Vertigo, you have to take a little extra effort to make sure it stays clean. I love how you can just slip the bass in and the neck holder does a great job of keeping it secure. Ill be offering this case as an upgrade on the basses I build. It doesnt have as many pockets as the other hi-end gigbags such as the ProTec Contego, so you have to buy the extra snap on case to carry stuff like effect pedals or a direct box.gregory1041

This is the best bag to date that I own. Scored it at $190 and free shipping! Safe and secure, I added a tsa bag lock which fit great through the zippers. Very spacious front pocket that is great for holding various cables, books or even my wireless. There is a small netted pocket inside of the larger one, but the design is flawed for holding smaller items. It is a weird boomerang shape that allows items to slide down the side. If youre looking for a great, safe, well built bag for holding a strap, cable, tuner and possibly a small collapsible bass stand then this one will get the job done! I also picked up the tick for easier access for business cards, a soft cloth, some tools and my primary cable. Now its a portable office!ocdman2012

Superb bass gigbag. Offers excellent protection, while being light and portable. Very well made, quality design and material. Particularly like the "boot", top loading design and hard wearing "sharkskin" exterior. Quite pricey but worth it to protect a prized instrument. Would prefer internal lining to be tauter and tougher, maybe stitched and quilted. Would buy again and particularly recommend to gigging players using cars or public transport.Mr G. S.

A brilliantly well made high quality guitar case that I specifically purchased for travelling. I often use the electric part of the case for carrying clothes whilst I travelling. The zippers on these bags are junk. they need to use heavier top notch zippers. the zipper on the smaller compartment areas is too small for real usage. Not sure why they just dont use the larger zipper on EVERYTHING. The a 3 point velcro rings for the tick bag should be 4 point (it sags on the single point if the tick bag is packed). where they strap at the top with 2 points is good, but its a bit wonky on the single strap in the middle because what happens is if you are carrying the guitar by the handle the tick bag sags down at that point a little bit. The guitar bags are kinda spendy but if you've invested into it, then the company should go the extra mile.I just wonder how much these guys have really travelled gig after gig with these bags. They are better than most out there though but also a lot more money too. I just think they need to use better zippers and add better/stiffer sidewalls for the guitar cases. My rig is heavy and wonder how long the guitar bag shoulder straps will last too. They seem sturdy, and so far so good. I play a Les Paul and the case could have stiffer sides for a heavier guitar. If you play a Strat or Tele then you're probably OK. Hands down this has been the best gig bag i have ever purchased and likely the last until it has to be replaced. I had previous cheaper versions and they were just that, cheap. This MONO bag has been a huge upgrade and im so happy i made the decision to get it. The linning inside makes sure the finish is well protected and the neck strap and support block are such a great insurance knowing guitar is not going to swing around in the space. The storage is great holding all my cable (both 1/4 inch and Kemper pedal cable) In ears, picks,spare strings and even having both guitars loaded (An ESP telecaster and PRS 7 string) its not a bad weight evenly distributed when strapped on your back. Outer shell is extremely well made and looks like its going to stand up to the road well. Bottom has rubber treads to set it on the ground without worry. If your looking at it but are scared of the price dont be, after your first set you will be glad you got itDaniel

Overall: I bought this for my Pro Series Soloist SL2Q MAH. It fits perfectly, snug so no worries of it bouncing around in there. It doesn't have a cover to the accessory pockets, however like I said the case is snug so when closed nothing falls out not even my loose picks. The latches on this case are probably my favorite feature as well as the TSA locks. Found out yesterday when I checked it for my flight was that TSA has a master key to this type of case, so you don't have to dig your keys out to open it for them, however on the flip side, not sure if I like that they have a key to open the case. However it arrived in great shape, nothing missing, they locked it back up which i was happy with. Seems to be very well built and didn't have any damage or scratches when I got it after my flight.Ryan

le I don't have a lot of experience with other brands' cases, this Jackson case is perfect for what I was looking for – something that will protect my guitar from its environment. I bought my first Jackson from Musicians Friend almost exactly 20 years ago, so my needs have changed a bit from when I was in high school and lugging my guitar around in the back of cars. It's now more about keeping the guitar safe when stowed away: protected from my wife just tossing it wherever she thinks it should be stored, protected from it then falling because it was hastily placed against something, protected from stuff falling on it because of other items placed hastily above or near it, and protected from my 2 and 5 year old who are all too interested in playing with the noise maker inside (which of course I'm more than happy to let them experiment when I'm supervising, but that's not as fun as sneaking it out when dad isn't home). This case protects from all of that, while also being more compact than the Jackson hard shell cases from the 90's. That's not even taking into account the much improved hardware, handle, and TSA lock (many of the older cases have locks, hinges, etc busted off). This case is also tighter on the tremolo, and it has two storage compartments as opposed to one.. Functional attributes aside, it's more aesthetic, IMO. Great gig bag for electrics, but I feel the acoustic one has too much give in the front/back of the bag…I’m worried that with a little bit of pressure, it could be easy to damage the face of the guitar. But it is perfect for commuting to gigs on the tube, and it can hold my iPad, iPad holder, cables, and all sorts of accessories in the large pocket! This is my second Vertigo the other being an electric. Gig bag is big but slightly smaller then the plastic Martin 640 case. The pockets are useful. There's a D ring at the top and I use that to hang it on the wall of my closet. The only downside to this top load bag you have to be very careful in and out not to scratch the guitar on the zipper it is avoidable but you need to go slow using your hands to hold the zipper away. It's not crush proof so you just hope somebody doesn't throw something on top of it when it gets stowed.Joe

Very sturdy but very easy to handle as well as. My chunky Gibson Songbird deluxe looks compact when it is contained in this bag. Beautifully designed and very attractive. It is perfect for short-term transportation of a Fender guitar. Well padded, with pockets for carrying extras. Excellent value for such a reasonable price. I love my Fender Telecaster and American Stratocaster, and I trust this gig-bag to keep them safe in short-term usage: taking to gigs or carrying the guitar personally. Obviously, for journeys where the guitar might be in the hold of an aeroplane or a van/bus, a hard case would be preferable, but if you are transporting a guitar personally, then this great-looking bag does the job brilliantly. Perfect fit for Telecaster – just snug enough. Padding is adequate for general use – glad I chooses 10mm over 5. Pockets hold cable, extra strings and picks but full size sheet music and such must be folded. Comfortable handles, good zippers, and backpack straps are padded and comfortable. This case has a narrow profile which stores easily. Materials are of high quality and appear durable. Grabbing case by top can cause tuners to move causing need for re-tune.geri-82

At first glance it looks pretty minimal, but I wanted something lightweight for a guitar that would be carefully handled–by me. Although the padding is quite thin, it has a nice heft to it and provides better cushioning than some bags I've used that are much thicker. Also, it fits a Strat like a glove, and the padding is in all the right places, so there's no flopping around inside the bag, so the guitar is really very well protected. There's only an outside accessory pocket, but big enough for a strap and extra strings. If you need a lot of features or think the guitar will be handled roughly, then maybe this isn't for you. But for most players, it's a nice bag, very light in weight and provides very good protection if you use some common sense…Lefty

Purchased this case for my Fender Precision Bass. Mostly, will be kept in my studio, and occasionally on a few short gigs. Case seems sturdy, and I like the compartment size suitable for a strap, cable, etc. Also features a locking latch which is very handy. Pricewise, its a very nice case for my needs, without going into more expensive flight cases for touring. Very satisfied and should last for quite a while. Would buy this product again. Decent case for the money. Dimensions are a little off from whats advertised. Lower bout width is around 13-1/4 instead of 13-1/2 so my BC Rich Eagle fits a little snug. Overall, no more than I use it, itll work. Sure beats paying $300 for the actual BC Rich case. Also, if your headpiece sets at a steeper angle, it will put pressure on the headpiece. I purchased this item to protect my Gibson Les Paul Custom Signature Series Guitar. As reviewed, the interior is extremely plush. The exterior looks quite dependable for all intent and purposes. Like others noted, the points of contention are the metal pieces attaching the handle preventing a 5 star rating. It is illogical to spend so much time on every detail "except" the parts supporting ALL the weight of the instrument. It appears that with a given amount of weight shift, the support brackets may snap off allowing the case to fall down in the direction of the headstock and potentially cause damage from impact. Since this case will very rarely see time outside of my home, I feel fairly certain the few times I need to transport my axe, I will be careful.1amun_re

i ordered this with intentions of getting the most for my money. I don't have big bucks to spend, but I wanted certain things and I got what I hoped for. I wanted enough length to accommodate the longer-than-typical headstock on my LP copy Bradley. The measurements were clearly lined out. The rest of the fit was perfect and plush. My only criticism is the metal bracket that secures the nice handle seems a little thin, but I expected there to be a little give-and-take somewhere, for this price. I'm pretty handy and will figure out a way to reinforce it. If not for this I'd give it 5 stars! FYI, Standard Shipping meant US Post Office, at least in my case. Ok, things I love about this gig bag! It's looks great, super thin and sleek. It's pretty comfortable (I say "pretty" comfortable bc I'm comparing to my Fender FA gig bag which is SUPER comfortable). It has a lot of pockets to hold things, and has a pretty amazing magnetic "across-the-chest" strap that's super easy to use and really helps distribute the weight. It also seems like it provides rock solid protection for my EVH 5150 guitar (knock on wood). Things that I was slightly disappointed with. The pockets. Yes, there are a lot of pockets to hold things, including laptop sleeve compartment that can fit up to a 16" laptop. However, the pocket doesn't expand as much as I thought it would and anything that's the slightest bit thick really get compressed in there. Also the laptop sleeve is on the front of the bag and the thin layer on the outside doesn't seem that protective of the front pocket. It's thin enough that I'm not sure I'd trust a laptop there? My MacBook Pro cost 2x the guitar LOL The other small pockets are great for picks, strings, etc. but even my clip on tuner was a really tight squeeze in those tight pockets. Overall still recommend this gig bag bc of it's main function: Protects guitar great, looks awesome, comfortable, easy to use and transport. This is my second Mono Gig Bag. I also have a M80 for acoustic. I looked at every bag in the hybrid case category. Mono's attention to details are second to none. Details such as a the hard grip/boot on the bottom. The rubber like trim to keep the bag from sliding. A large compartment that can carry a multi-fx like a Digitecch RP360XP. In fact, in the Vertigo, I carry this and a LR Baggs PARA DI, the 3 button switch for the Digitech, cables, and power supplies. And, it fits very easily; not jammed or stuffed. The Mono holds the guitar snuggly in place, but allows easy removal while the case is upright which is something I began doing with my M80 although not designed that way. I have as much or more confidence in this bag's protection as any OEM hard case. If you carry your guitar and gear frequently, this bag is well worth the money.Turp

It’s all about choices.Two for one. Fitz either my Es-335 and or es-330 with my les Paul along with cords stand Strap for a little more weight as the solid case for one guitar. Bulky but has lots of control. This is due to the case design wanting to naturally stand straight up.Nice for public bustle. Noticed on YouTube that there was a problem with the strings poking through the case. Problem solved very well redesigned. If it’s time for you to Evolve your transportation I highly recommend this.Jes

I own mono cases, and this is the only time I have been disappointed. The acoustic side of the case is amazing as expected, but the electric side is non functional. The electric side was so tight that I was genuinely concerned that my les Paul headstock would break from how tight the case was. The headstock of my guitar could be seen bulging from the case and was offered virtually no protection in case of a drop. You can easily tell that the electric sleeve was nothing more than an afterthought to the acoustic side. I always feel safe with my electric in any single mono case, but will never trust them in this dual case.Kev

I was excited when I saw that MONO was selling this. My needs are unique in that I walk, take a subway or bus to my music classes or jam sessions. So being able to carry an acoustic / electric would be a miracle. MF has a special so I bought. There are two storage compartments, one large and one small like most MONO cases and are a standard carryover. The acoustic compartment is nice and fit my acoustics nicely as I tried them. The electric was a huge disappointment. It is such a tight space that you have to use force to get your electric in. To make it even worse the electric side's zipper doesn't go all the way to the bottom so that last part is shoved in vs "placed" in. This is so tight that it fails tilt back headstocks like Gibsons, Epiphones and Hamers. You are buying an expensive case to protect a fragile instrument and this doesn't work for a class of guitars. I would describe this as an acoustic MONO case with an cheap MONO "guitar sleeve" fixed to the back. The electric size is nowhere near as protected as the acoustic side. The size walls are cushioned but unconstructed and not rigid. The material does not seem as sturdy as my MONO double bass case that I bought several years ago as well.MrPrytania

Overall: Upon delivery, packaging was noticeably well done. After romoving the case from the packaging i was immediately happy with my purchase. I bought the ash colored sleeve and it looks perfect. The bass that im storing inside is the new Shecter J4, also purched from zZounds and delivered in perfect condition as well. I digress, the sleeve is study and fits great. Plenty of room in the main pocket for new strings, a couple pedals, tuner, cables, pretty much whatever i would need to take along. Definitely work the price for such a great looking gig bag.T.j.

I've had this case for two years now, it will protect your bass well and it is made of high quality material which is not likely to get torn easily. This is as far as it goes for me on the upside. It is incredibly uncomfortable for anyone whose back isn't flat and the straps are two close to each other. I'm riding about half a mile on my bike with it a couple of times a week and I always finish the ride with neck pain. The pocket is diagonical for some reason and you can't fit your stuff nicely without having them all rumbled up a few steps later. Also, the flap…who thought of that? Avoid this case, there are alternatives with sufficient protection and much better back and neck support as well as decent storage space.Ronypony

Very well thought out gig bag. The ability to load upright is very nice. As is the little office pocket on the top of the headstock. The rubber "boot" is light and bouncy, and the extra thick padding is very protective. Shoulder straps are comfy too, and the big pockets hold a lot if needed. Mono should mention that these will hold a JUMBO. My Taylor LKSM 12 string just fits in it. Somehow a GC does not slop around much either!!! I now have three… Hope this helps someone.guitars44me

I give this bag only 3 stars because unless Gator upgraded the bag or is making it in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase. I bought one of these for a Sterling by Music Man bass as I was under the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). As the photos indicate, this bag will work for a Fender P Bass, but the Fender FB620 is a better bag for that and other Fender bass guitars while presently costing 10 less than the Gator while offering better protection and features. The Gator GB-4G seems to be more of a universal fit bag accommodating a wider range of sizes. The thing it seemed to have going for it the most was its zipper which seemed heavy duty. I say "seemed" because I returned the bass and so the bag as well.Vice

I bought a used guitar for back porch jamming. Needed a gig bag that didn't cost more than the guitar ,but would keep it safe and clean. Stopped at Sam ash because I was certain they had a variety of gig bags. Not my first visit or purchase.The Gator gig bag I chose is the economy for dreadnought guitars by Gator. Great price for my budget and well made. This bag is perfect for my needs. Easy carry and my guitar is covered.Just enough padding in all the right places for my guitar. I'm giving this bag only 3 stars on account of the price increase; for it used to cost about 4-5 less than the Fender FE620 but now costs about 10 more than? Unless it has improved features or is being made in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase as the FE620 gig bag provides better protection and features (for Strat size guitars anyway). I purchased one in May 2021 and only because as I was of the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). I should have sized things up beforehand since the Sterling by Music Man Cutlass I bought the bag for is essentially a slightly shorter, slightly sleeker version of a Strat (for which the FE620 was made). The best thing the Gator bag seemed to have going for it was the zipper which seemed rather heavy duty while mesh pockets on the front of a gig bag aren't particularly practical while being subject to tearing/ripping. As you can see by the photos, there's too much room in the bag for a Strat size guitar (though one might be able to insert the headstock into the bag's internal top pocket to prevent the guitar from sliding around too much in the bag). I give this bag only 3 stars because unless Gator upgraded the bag or is making it in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase. I bought one of these for a Sterling by Music Man bass as I was under the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). As the photos indicate, this bag will work for a Fender P Bass, but the Fender FB620 is a better bag for that and other Fender bass guitars while presently costing 10 less than the Gator while offering better protection and features. The Gator GB-4G seems to be more of a universal fit bag accommodating a wider range of sizes. The thing it seemed to have going for it the most was its zipper which seemed heavy duty. I say "seemed" because I returned the bass and so the bag as well.Vice

I bought a used guitar for back porch jamming. Needed a gig bag that didn't cost more than the guitar ,but would keep it safe and clean. Stopped at Sam ash because I was certain they had a variety of gig bags. Not my first visit or purchase.The Gator gig bag I chose is the economy for dreadnought guitars by Gator. Great price for my budget and well made. This bag is perfect for my needs. Easy carry and my guitar is covered.Just enough padding in all the right places for my guitar. Also accessory zipper compartment.Lindy

I'm giving this bag only 3 stars on account of the price increase; for it used to cost about 4-5 less than the Fender FE620 but now costs about 10 more than? Unless it has improved features or is being made in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase as the FE620 gig bag provides better protection and features (for Strat size guitars anyway). I purchased one in May 2021 and only because as I was of the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). I should have sized things up beforehand since the Sterling by Music Man Cutlass I bought the bag for is essentially a slightly shorter, slightly sleeker version of a Strat (for which the FE620 was made). The best thing the Gator bag seemed to have going for it was the zipper which seemed rather heavy duty while mesh pockets on the front of a gig bag aren't particularly practical while being subject to tearing/ripping. As you can see by the photos, there's too much room in the bag for a Strat size guitar (though one might be able to insert the headstock into the bag's internal top pocket to prevent the guitar from sliding around too much in the bag). Ok yes the build quality is decent and it's good looking. Don't just accept other reviews at face value that this is some kind of panacea of quality. It's fine. Probably wouldn't hold up to heavy regular use but for medium to light use it should be fine. The carrying handle on particular looks like it would wear out quickly. I don't gig a lot anymore so the price/quality seemed good. My biggest complaint and the reason I'm returning it is the sizing is kind of absurd. It's way too big. I bought mainly to use with a Strat and there are big gaps all the way around. Cases of any type only work well when the fit is snug. If there is slop, bad things happen. I've traveled with many types of instruments over the last 20 years and the ones that have never been damaged were the ones that were well fitted in their cases. Picture attached with Strat.DR

This model checks of most of the basic features today's players expect from a high-end gig bag, and does so at an amazing price! The fabric, stitching and padding are top notch. The accessory pocket is classy – I like the removeable pouch that is perfect for a trem arm and setup tools. This gig bag is very ergonomic and is easy to carry. Obviously designed to fit a strat like a glove it may not fit other guitars as well. I did managed to get my Fernandes Retrorocket in it, even with the angled reverse headstock, but it was a bit too muck work. My Warmoth body Strat fits perfectly. Strat/Tele owners should jump all over this insane value. I couldn't be happier.Tim H.

This is a nice, high quality bag but its not really made for a minion bass. Its made for a Minion Rhodes guitar. My Jackson JS1X minion bass fits but barely. Theres a lot of pressure on the headstock because of how tight it is – which reduces its protection.aaronheinly

Very well made gig bag. Holds the guitar cables and tuner etc in 2 decent sized zip pockets on the front. Very thick sturdy material. Jackson Soloist Pro fits like a glove. There is an extra layer of a thick rubber grip on the base of the bag which prevents water/beer soaking the bag and helps keep the bag stable.jonathan5774

It's a new bag with tags, though listed as "used." It's a very tight fit for the Jackson Kelly. You need to put the headstock in first and then work the back up over the body. It's well made and I'm glad it's got fabric corners holding it in and not just the zipper. It's a good substitute for a hard case when you compare the cost of any hard case for these weird-body guitars.frankb360
