1. Orange Amp Detonator Buffered Aby Switcher Pedal
Product Details:
The orange amp detonator buffered aby switcher is an active pedal with two outputs, one of which has an isolating transformer. the transformer is totally transparent and both outputs are buffered for a low noise, linear circuit. orange have made the amp detonator the most silent aby switcher on the market, meaning no thumps and whumps when switching amps. a polarity switch lets you correct phase issues to maintain your tone. also, an led light and 9v battery compartment make this the ideal choice for players who gig without a pedalboard.
Specifications:

Indicator Type | LED |
LED Size | 10 mm |
Number of Switches | 2 |
Output Type | Isolated |
Reviews:
I bought the Orange Amp Detonator to crank two small 20w amps for more grunt. What's better is that I can blend two tonally disparate amps to create another sound altogether. The thing I feared most (like I do with all pedals) is the phenomenon of "tone suck" where the engaged pedal flattens a normally vibrant sound. Nothing like that with this baby. It is easy to use with different coloured lights to keep you reminded of what mode you are in ie both amps, amp a only, amp b only etc. Plus it is Orange so it looks damn cool too. Love it. Recommend it.brettl6456

Specifications:

Reviews:
I think it's fantastic that for 50 bucks you can get a signal splitter. I saw techniques online for creating beefier tones by splitting your signal to real amps and digital effects as well. It would be annoying to route a computer signal into an amp, and then back into the computer, so this defeats that method.

Very well built and quality ABY. However, I fell for the the audiophile hype thst s non buffered ABY doesnt change youre tone. Thats true, but it also cuts the volume on the second output. I retuned it for a switchbone v2 and coulnt be happier. I debated the twin city, but went for the switchbone for the additional boost functions and am glad I did. Radial makes a great sturdy durable product, so if you truely need a powerless situation, this will work. Otw, go with the powered buffered pedalsCbouty
I was looking for an ABY switch pedal in order for me to play Rocksmith through my Spark amp so that I would be able to hear my guitar without turning the song down in the game. I was considering another brand but then came across the Big Shot and decided on it mainly due to the price being about $50 less than the other brand. The Big Shot also features a ground lift switch that the other brand didn't have, this features reduces the amount of feed back received when having both A&B amps on. Hooked the pedal to my Spark, PS4 and guitar and everything worked just as hoped it would. I've had this for about 3 weeks now and glad I chose the Big Shot by Radial.Andrew
After utilizing simple A/B boxes for my amp and effects chain switching. I had far too much noise and I needed a better solution. The Radial Bigshot is perfect. It fixed my amp polarity issues and I can't hear a change in the signal. Plus, with the LED's it's super easy to see my signal path on a dark stage. Completely happy, no brainer buy again solution.
5. Mooer Micro Aby Mkii Channel Switch
Product Details:
The mooer micro aby allows you to either switch between two source inputs or two destination outputs by stomping on the footswitch. so you could use it to plug two guitars into the same amp but only have the signal from one at a time, or you could use it to switch between two amps while using one guitar! the compact form factor makes it super easy to add this to any pedalboard but please note its too small for fit a battery in so it needs to be supplied with standard 9v dc power to operate the led. it will work without power but the led wont light. new for mk2 for the mk2 version of this pedal mooer have introduced a new a&b mode which means that you are running in to both at the same time. this is great for if you want to run in to two amplifiers at all times and dont need to switch between them.

6. Radial Twin City Active Aby Switcher
Product Details:
Aby switcher, active class-a w/ drag control, phase rev & isolated out. the twin-citytm is an active, high-performance class-a guitar amp selector that lets you seamlessly transition between two amps without the switching noise, hum or tone loss generally encountered when using passive switchers. the signal path begins with the same buffer as employed in the award winning radial jd7 injectortm. this is augmented with dragtm control load correction to replicate the tone and feel as if connecting your guitar directly to a tube amplifier. one simply depresses the ab toggle switch to select outputs or combines them using the both footswitch. large led indicators make it easy to know where you are at all times, no matter how dark the stage. output-b is equipped with an isolation transformer to eliminate hum and buzz caused by ground loops and features a 180° polarity reverse to ensure your two amps are in phase. simply engage the ground-lift to further reduce noise problems. the twin-city employs electronic impulse switching (eis) for quiet, pop-free switching even when using high gain amps. the space-saving design assures the twin-city will fit perfectly on all pedalboards while the 9v operation makes it easy to integrate with any power brick.
Specifications:

Reviews:
This ABY amp switcher does the job I wanted it to do, and it does it better than I expected it would. The phase switch is exactly what I needed to get a Fender Tweed Blues Jr and a Vox AC15 to be in phase with each other. That was a pretty good instant gratification in one flick. The switching between amps (and switching to both amps) occurs instantly and without any trace of sound. The ground lift was needed to get my Blues Jr to stop humming whenever the Vox and Fender were both attached to stereo delay pedal outputs… or the Twin City with the lift switch unlifted. Didn't seem to matter which output the Fender was attached to, it was the one to hum… either using stereo pedal outputs or the Twin City outputs. But the Twin City's switch fixed that problem. The drag feature is useful. It actually does what it says it does. I have mine about 60% up. Using a stereo delay after the Twin City brings back the hum as expected since that un-isolates the isolation.ElectricUrinal
The Radial Twin cities Tonebone is an awesome switcher which does not zap tone and works super silent. It is active and it's buffered so it cleans up everything in your chain be it long guitar cords or noisy pedals. I hear a lot of people saying they like passive switchers because they don't need power. Well I can tell you from experience that passive switchers suck…they suck tone and they are noisy. This pedal works like a dream and has all the essentials needed in a top notch switcher for a decent price. 180 switch so your amps are always in phase. Lift switch that eliminates noise and a drag boost that restores any tone or action loss from the pedal and cords. Nice LED lights.Really it has almost all of the features of the much more expensive Radial Switchbone pedal! This thing kills any cheaper passive pedal. I love this thing! I'm now running a JCM 900 and an X-100b together and it sounds amazing! Don't waste your money on an cheaper passive switcher. Pay the extra dough and get this pro level switcher. You won't be sorry!BigMacFullerton
I researched many cheaper models of ABY switches, but the features of this device just seemed to outweigh any cons over price. With a groundlift switch and phase/polarity settings (including Drag control), it handles any combination of amps you throw at it and immediately dials out the noise. The signal and tone of my guitar is as clean running through two amps at once as it is from just one. Product is built like a tank and can withstand lots of abuse. Only con I see is that it does not have a battery option, but I won't deduct anything from it for that as this box works like a champ. Having a blast running my tube amps in tandem, I never knew what I was missing! Can't really make a comparison to other boxes since this is my first purchase, but this is a solid value for all that you get with it. I highly recommend it.built_for_speed

Bought this AB/Y pedal to allow me to use both my guitar amps…..Fender 68 Custom Princeton Reverb and Blues Jr. NOS (Tweed). I waffled back and forth between Morley, the Fender, and a more expensive one with lift, ground, etc. switches. I figured for the price (it was on sale after Thanksgiving) it would be noisy, hum, etc. but it's dead quiet and works EXACTLY as advertised. Years ago, I'd use my two Black face Fender Deluxe Reverbs by going out of the #2 input on the 1st amp and then go to the second Deluxe Reverb input #1, but you always had both amps on and the second one had to be set at a higher volume due to the #2 output being attenuated. This AB/Y pedal allows switching from one amp to the other, or having both on. Haven't tried using it with one amp and two guitars (the other option for the pedal's use). Get one if you've got two amps and want to use both!!64 Tele

Got it for practicing with two different bass guitars running off one amp. Discovered that when we have an active guitar plugged into A and a passive guitar plugged into B, A's volume knob controlled B's output. As long as A was turned up, B could control its volume with its volume knob, but when A's volume knob was turned down, B's volume went down with it. Literally, A turning itself down could totally mute B. This really isn't a problem as long as you know that. If you want total, independent control, you might want to look for a buffered ABY solution. We also tried it running a Fender Strat guitar into the Y, and the AB outputs were run into a dual input tube preamp that had a Fender input and a Marshall input. Running the AB outputs of the switch into each of the amp's inputs allowed us to very quickly compare the difference between the two inputs and it was very noticeable. One input was very clean and the other had a little distortion added. We got the fattest, richest sound running both inputs simultaneously.schwagerjt
Pedal works perfectly however the base is warped so won't sit on a flat surface. Mine goes on a carpet so not an issue. Might not work on a pedal board. There are no problems with the sound and very flexible ins and outs. The addition of gain on each input is invaluable as I'm mixing magnetic and piezo pickups.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

I bought this because I wanted to switch between a Friedman Dirty Shirley and another Friedman Head I don't have yet (saving up) but i do have an Orange amp to get things going and to try the new switcher. Connecting was simple, programming it was a breeze, it looks great and I loved the led lights, big and bright. Everything is now working plus the tuner out, the problem is there is a hum depending on where I'm standing, even in the best position there is a hum. I now tried completely isolating the power supply from my tuner, no change. I don't have any other pedals. The next problem is there is a popping sound when switching amps, I tried all the hum reducing features but they were already in the best position, without the ground loop or phase thing the hum is about five times louder, so those hum reducers work but there is still humming going on. The popping made me a little scared so I turned down the gain and volume very very low to not hurt my brand new 4×12 Friedman bottom. All the cables are brand new Mogami gold cables, but I just touched one of the cable ends on the switcher side and it crackled, I started to move it more and the cracking sound was loud. I disconnected the switcher to test all the cables straight into the amp and total silence, not to mention I can dime the Dirty Shirley with barely a hiss, It's the most silent amp I've ever heard. That being said after hooking everything back up it was one of the output jacks again that was crackling loudly. So between the popping, humming and hissing, and crackling on one of the outputs made me return this. There is no way I'm using a switcher that can not only damage my speakers with the popping (I can only imagine what would have happened if my amp was loud) but hums like crazy depending on where you're standing. I got this after reading many good reviews and it looks like they make quality stuff, I'm sure I just got a defective one, I did however lose confidence with the Lehle Dual SGos.Moe

I use this box to allow me to connect both a bass guitar and an upright bass to a single amplifier input. Most A/B boxes let you either switch between two inputs to one output or one input to two outputs. Where that's a problem for me is knowing whether it's in the A or B position. The LEDs here solve that problem. The dual switches allow disconnecting both inputs instead of one input always connected to the output, useful for instruments without volume knobs like my upright bass. The switches are pop-free and the battery is only needed for the LEDs. If the battery dies on a gig, the box still works. The only complaint I have is the price seems high for what's actually inside the enclosure.enossified
