Reviews:
The photos do not do this finish justice! The finish is way more 3D and the metalflake finish is awesome! Great playability and incredible Lukather tones! Over the moon – Thanks Sweetwater! Cliff was my sales rep. [x1784] He was also great! Kept me in the loop about the guitar arriving from Ernie Ball and when I could expect it. Great deal on an AMAZING Guitar
Sound: Amazing. No cap. This guitar sings. Features: Roasted flame maple neck looks and feels dreamy. Ease of Use: You would he hard pressed to make a bad sound on this guitar. Quality: EBMM leads the industry in quality, fit, and finish. This is no exception. Value: I’ve never played a better guitar at any price point. The Wow Factor: I would rate this 11 out of 10. Overall: May be the best guitar in production. The new pickups are absolutely beautiful, and good for everything but the most extreme styles. I’ve never played a guitar that sounded so nice. I can put it on the neck pickup clean and fire up the boost, and it sounds like a jazz box. The bridge is the only bridge pickup I’ve ever really liked. It clear and dynamic, but no harshness. The guitar is super comfortable to boot. I was really worried I might not like the v neck, but somehow it fits like a glove. Probably the best feeling neck I’ve ever felt. To top everything off…. It was set up perfectly, and in tune in the box.Jonathan
I've had this guitar a few months now and it is a really good guitar. It is manufactured with quality in mind. There were no blemishes or quality issues when it arrived. It does come with Ernie Ball strings, which I have never been a fan of. I changed the strings right away. It is pretty lightweight (especially when compared to a Les Paul) and really does come across as a LP/Strat hybrid. There is a five or six position switch for the different pickup configurations, but I really only care for two fo them. I guess that would be dependent on what style of music you are playing. One knock that I have is that when using the tremolo, it does tend to go out of tune a bit. I don't use tremolo much, so I can live with that. The neck plays really fast and it is a great looker. Ernie Ball doesn't have a custom shop, but their guitars can compete with any brand out there. You won't be disappointed.Terry S

Reviews:
cheap build quality. 1000.00 guitar for 2200.00 wish I would have passed on this one. This guitar is cheap. rushed cnc guitar with no soul. cheapest materials. bad quality control. cheap hardware bad low budget plating. Don't waste your money. pickups bland and generic sounding plastic. chips on paint in pickup cavity. Called music man. they gave me some lame excuse about their robot paint machine. was told don't worry about it. wood won't rot from moisture. Blah blah blah.
I had been feeling the need to acquire a stratocaster styled guitar for some time now. However I dont find the offerings from Fender to be to my liking (mainly the priciness), so when I stumbled upon this SBMM Cutlass I was pleasantly surprised. I was initially pulled in by the roasted Maple neck and locking tuners coming standard, though its remaining features are also quite adequate. Wasn't sure how I would feel about the vintage 2 point trem system but it seems to work just as well as any other, if not just a little stiffer at first. Only issue I saw on the finish was a very slight hairline crack by the heel of the neck area. Which is never a welcome sight but for me it's not something worth returning the product for, as it's barely noticeable and I believe superficial enough to not be a real problem structurally. The only other problem I've encountered was that upon my first string change one of the knurled knobs on the locking tuners came undone during the string change, not sure why I was backing it out so far but it just threaded right off the shaft it attaches to. I could see slight traces of what looks to be cyanoacrylate or something similar but it didnt hold anyway. So I've just glued it back on with no issues yet. I did order a set of more robust locking tuners to swap out on my next string change. I think that covers my main points for the guitar. I've been quite pleased with how it feels and plays, and especially how it sounds. I think for this price point you would have a hard time finding a better deal with similar features. So as long as this guitar suits your current interests I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try. It has shown me some of what the strat hype is based on even though I don't tend to prefer strats, so definitely consider this if you're shopping for something strat-like!Bill A

Reviews:
I am a drummer. My son needed strings. He took a few lessons years ago, and recently decided to try again. Guitar needed strings. I put on a full set and tuned it up. Seem to be functional. Fairly flexible. I didn't want really heavy strings. I know they would wreak havoc on un-callused fingertips!Scott W.
First time using these. I really like them. I immediately noticed how much smoother they feel compared to the previous brand I started out using. They feel so much better on your fingers and they dont feel ridged on the thicker strings. String bends are much better. I think I am going to switch to Ernie Ball from here on out. These seem like a much better quality and better value.hillbillyonlineshopper

I am the admitted novice with more money than sense. However, I have had the good fortune of playing a lot of nice guitars. I love the feel of this neck! The shape is perfect, I would say on the smaller and flatter side which makes it very easy to play. But the feel of the neck is just amazing. The Piezo pickups are very cool, but I picture myself using just the magnets most often, but there are some cool sounds to be had. Sounds great, and the build quality of MM is top notch. My only complaint was a fair amount of fret buzz out of the box, which was fixed with a slight adjustment of the truss rod…very minor complaint, but for a guitar in this price range just a thought. Beautiful guitar, anyone would be happy with this. Sounds great through my Hughes and Kettner amp/cab!Desert Fox
Decided to save up for 1 “great” guitar. Narrowed it down to this and a high end LP. Have zero regrets about choosing the JP15. Playability is off the charts and I haven’t even began to pull all the different tones out of the humbuckers, let alone blending the piezo in. I can’t recommend this highly enough, get one if you can!

Reviews:
This guitar came ready to play right out of the box. If it weren't for the 3 day trip from Indianapolis to Ohio, It would of probably been in tune out of the box. The instrument was packaged well. While un-wrapping the case from the 2 boxes it was packaged in I had no doubts that the instrument would be okay. The guitar itself is a beautiful piece of art and beautifully set up. Clean and Neat. The guitar plays like butter and is easy to play. I am a music student going to school for music performance in jazz studies and this guitar matches all the requirements I had for a guitar. I have other instruments besides this one, but I wanted a work horse guitar that I would not be afraid to carry on my back everyday. NO FRET BUZZ on any strings! I have been to the Galloup school of guitar repair and building for the journey man program and I felt no need to try and tweek this guitar in any way, other than the pick up height on the neck pick up. That pick up was set oddly low. I would like to commend the person and peoples at music man for a nicely done job on getting their instruments ready to go out of the shop and Musicians Friend for the great customer service and fa-nominal job on packaging and shipping. Thumbs up!Joey Slu
My guitar arrived ready to play. I almost didn’t even have to tune it. workmanship was superb no fret sprout, rough edges, string buzz etc. The pickups are great as is and you can dial up any sound you want easily. Neck is smooth as silk no issues. The guitar exceeded all of my expectations. it’s hard to put down once you begin to play it. Hard shell case is great very solid and beautiful inside with lots of room for stuff! I own over 138 guitars this is one of the absolute best of my high end models. Once you begin to play it you will find it hard to put downmwpv11
Quality and attention to detail is the name of the game with Music Man. Acoustically the guitar is resonant and had a clear tone. Plugged in the low output pickups let the tone shine. It has body you’d expect from humbuckers but with a clarity that was very surprising. Fret work is flawless and the natural feeling neck is fast and smooth. Plus the flame on the neck and fretboard is incredible. It has more flame and depth than many big brand body tops I’ve seen. I’d say the neck is on the smaller side of medium but super comfortable. Overall the guitar is simply outstanding.Mark

Fantastic guitar…everything I’d hoped for.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
11. Ernie Ball Super Slinky Electric Guitar String Set, Crimson
Product Details:
Reviews:
(Guitar there were placed on is a Tom Murphy Painted and Aged Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Standard w/ Brazilian Fretboard) Back in the day, Ernie Ball strings weren't packaged well; they weren't even sealed. If you haven't tried them since their packaging was reinvented, they're definitely worth a look now. Tried D'Addario pure nickel strings, found the wound three to be too low output. I swear the core wire looked like it belonged in acoustic strings. Maybe I got a factory defect, who knows. Gibson strings sound great initially but the 'G' starts to sound dead after a week and the wound strings sound dead and filthy in three weeks. These on the other hand sound marvelous. They sound great out of the package, stay balanced, and sound good for longer than I thought possible.MidnightRiderInTX
I have recently come back to playing the guitar, Sax is my primary instrument but I have had my Gibson RD Standard since 1978. I have since increased my heard of guitars to 10 electric guitars and 3 bass guitars. I have come to favor the Ernie Ball lights and super lights on almost all my guitars. I play the 9's on all of my Stratocaster copies and the super lights on the 3/4 size guitars. I love the feel as far as tone, intonation, flexibility ease of bends and how the strings hold up as a whole. I would definitely recommend to a friend or buy this produce again.Antonio
I have been using the Power Slinkys (11s) for a few years now. I had switched from another brand because the Slinkys made my Strat sound more Straty. After watching a few videos on YouTube about string gauge, I thought I would buy the Regular Slinkys (10s) and see what difference that would make. When I got online to buy I saw that Guitar Center had a sale on 12 packs and since there is a pandemic, I thought it prudent to hoard strings. My logic was that while I may run out of TP, I would never run out of strings for my guitars. Long story short, you cannot go wrong with the tone of 10s. I do like them better than the 11s. They are much clearer in the low end and you get more definition. I have to do less EQing when recording and they just seem to pop better in a mix. The only downside is that they are taking me time to get used to, I play very heavy handed and these are much easier to bend. But I can already see that I have less hand fatigue.Richard
12. Ernie Ball Electric Guitar Strings, Extra Slinky
Product Details:
Ernie ball extra slinky electric strings are widely revered for their world-class tone. these strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and most exacting specifications to ensure consistency, optimum performance, and long life. extra slinky wound strings are made from nickel plated steel wire wrapped around a hex shaped steel core wire. the plain strings are made of specially tempered tin plated high carbon steel; producing a well balanced tone for your guitar.
Reviews:
BB King famously convinced Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top to switch to lighter strings and Billy never looked back. Tone can be shaped so much by the amp so the primary function of strings is feel and playability. Lighter strings like these mean you can play harder for longer. I also find I'm playing more accurately because my movements needs to be more delicate.Jack C.
You have to try these strings for yourself. No matter what anyone reviews or says, this is a matter of preference. So I say spend the money and try them. I will relate my personal review now. First off Ernie Ball strings are very good strings. I would say that about Curt Magnum, DR, GHS pure Nickels and Fender pure Nickels also. I play pure Nickel strings which are mellow strings btw. I normally use .10s and .11s. This was an experiment for me because I went down a rathole one night on the internet reading about what strings "the stars" use. I read what people said and honestly it is entertainment in itself!!! If you use 10s or heavier, you will have to adjust your neck, action and intonation. These no getting around that. The tension is very different. If you re-adjust your tone settings on your pedals and amplifiers, you'll get a usable tone with these strings. You'll have to play with your pickups also since they respond differently. Don't use these strings if you have a heavy picking hand like SRV. If you have a light hand or can switch it up and play softly, try them. DON'T go out and play a gig if you haven't spent some time with them, especially if you are dropping down from 10s or 11s. If you use 9s, you'll probably be ok. I am all for playing without tiring and playing without hurting my tendons. Maybe I will stick with these OR NOT. I have them on a PRS Custom 22 SE. I use 2mm V-picks. You had better use light picks with these strings. I switched to a Fender medium. So I use 11s when tuned down a half step. 10s up to pitch. If you have tendonitis from playing guitar 3 or 4 hours a day for 50 something years, these will be a refreshing change and you may not have any pain whatsoever. These are certainly the strings to use on a guitar that has a neck issue where the truss rod won't handle 11s or 10s. Nowadays, necks don't seem to be made to handle the medium or heavy gauge strings that I grew up with. Whatever I say doesn't matter. When it comes to strings, you will have to try them yourself and decide if they work for you or not. I purchased four sets to try on numerous guitars. I may get up enough nerve to use them at a gig. These may be strings to put on student guitars so they don't get discouraged.Rick
Ernie Ball has always been a high quality guitar string. Used by beginners, every day pickers, and professional musicians. They provide great sound and a great feel when played on a cheap guitar, or high dollar instrument. Im no professional guitarist , but I do know The Ernie Ball Slinky series string should be your number one choice when looking for a great all around string. There on all my guitars. And let me tell you, they really make my Strat talk like SRV s # 1uskev-xeu3yty9
13. Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Guitar Yucatan Blue Flame Top
Product Details:
In mint condition. purchased new in 2021 from an authorized dealer. played at home probably around 20 times. never left the house. beautiful looking guitar. the blue flame is awesome on this particular one and the maple neck also looks great! this was basically eddie van halen s (evh) guitar when he was with ernie ball. very comfortable to play and nice specs. pickups sound good to my ears.new this will cost over $3k. selling because i just don t use it that much and looking for something with a compound fret radius.any questions let me know!
Reviews:
I've wanted a Music Man "Axis" since way back in the day when EVH came out with his signature model EBMM. This, to me, is still the "signature" EVH guitar. IMHO It certainly doesn't lack anything in looks, quality, craftmanship, or tone. After having it for few days and trying it out with multiple amps, pedals, etc.- it's really HARD (impossible) to get a bad sound out of this guitar. The DiMarzio pickups give you the classic rock/classic metal distortion you'd expect but they also clean up nicely too. And the fact that it's so beautiful just to look at, besides being a joy to play, really is icing on the cake. The neck, to me, feels like an old "broken in" Fender Stratocaster neck (kind of like a roundish "C" neck). I have large hands but it's still very comfortable in my fretting hand. The "flame top" is slightly less expensive but equally appealing to the quilt top. IMHO It came to me set up perfectly with a low/medium action with no fret buzz anywhere to be found. The roasted maple neck also looks/feels killer. Thanks to Dustin Keesbury for always being available and helpful.

I played 3 shows, and 2 practices then Pop goes the B…. 3rd practice, POP goes the A. This is all within 1 month from purchase, and pretty much how regular Slinky's hold up for me. Weather perhaps?… (I traveled from CALIFORNIA to CANADA and played 2 shows…) Faulty pack of these durable non breakables? Geared for those with that feather like angel whisper strumming technique??? I dunno, but do know when I first put on a new set any brand strings… and I mean ANY set I can bend, and dive, strum madly, and create chaotic thunder like all them fancy Axe Slingers Ernie Ball shows wrecking havoc on 'em for a good 10 minutes… What I was looking for was tone, and added longevity, and willing to pay the x-tra normal pack X 2 price…. but, I'm left a bit unimpressed here. Has EB's quality just gone down?… I mean even my regular slinky's seem nothing short of weak… my band's other guitarist is swearing by D'Addarios…. Think I may have to give 'em a whirl… Sorry EB. Oh, and as noted on a prior post the return policy is mailing back ALL strings (Good and bad one's), and EB will then send another pack to you… Why not just be able to go into an authorized ED dealer, and get a new pack??? So, you buy one pack , the another to replace it, then wait on the return… a bit pricey transaction.Barryfly69
I purchased these new Paradigm strings just to try them out as I'd heard so much hype about them . My first impressions are they feel and sound great , the easiest way I can describe them is like an up graded set of regular Slinkeys , I tried cobalt strings and didn't like them at all tbh , I've had them on my Gibson SG for over a week now and been playing for several hours every day and they sound really bright n fresh . One thing i've noticed is the tuning stability of the Paradigm strings much Better , my sg has always had a problem of never staying in tune !!! These new strings seem really stable and I hardly stretched them at all when I put them on my guitar . Will they last 90 days and still sound great though ??? Well i suppose only time will tell , at the moment I'm very happy with these new Paradigm strings . A +++++Leighton B.
My first set lasted 3 1/2 gigs before I broke the D string. This is much better than the average string for my heavy right hand. I play 10's on my Taylor T5. I can't play more than 2 gigs on a regular set period. I will up date and see how my second set goes. Here a run down of my first impression. 1- great feel. Bend nicely for soloing 2- they stay in tune well. Better than average 3- they have an extra wrap, very fine, on top of the regular wrap at the ball end. If you get a lot of strings breaking down at the bridge these strings may help. 4- dissapointed in only 31/2 gigs What strings are better – NYXL or these? Right now the jury is still out. Both are much better than regular strings for sure.bigstrick1

I seen people was giving these strings bad reviews because after 2 weeks of playing everyday, they said strings go bad. I have NEVER had any issues with these strings, i for one say replace your strings every 2 weeks anyway ESPECIALLY if you play everyday. But owning multiple guitars sometimes it never goes that way, i have now had these on my jackson, and i put them on 5 months ago, play everyday and there still going strong, hardly any rust, definitely tell their wore out but over all BEST STRINGS on the market, great tone, great durability, never breaks, and great feel.Durbify
These are punchy and dynamic strings, with a certain warmth and colour to them. Like pure nickel strings, only the wound strings have the cobalt alloy wrap. If you like pure nickels, to get away from that grainy/dark/grey of normal iron/steel strings, but wish for something a little darker and with more outright balls than pure nickels, you will absolutely love these!4992andy
Best strings I've came across so far, I always had a bit of an issue when getting into my jam and a string snaps due to too much "passion" when playing. With these bad boys, I'm able to be as passionate as I like and they survived several jams now. Tipping my hat to creator of these titans.Romans J.

Reviews:
This guitar is nearly perfect in every way! The decibel booster and coil split functions are super easy to use when all you have to do is push instead of pull. The craftsmanship is impeccable! I'm a big Floyd Rose fan and was a little skeptical about the Music Man tremolo, but paired with the Schaller locking tuners, this thing holds as good a tuning as my original Floyd's do. I'm able to dive bomb, flutter and scream with this thing! I'm a huge fan of Jason Richardson and am very impressed with this signature/custom guitar. I'm not a fan of artist's signature instruments, but this guitar is definitely built for musicians who want to encompass a wide range of sounds without sacrificing playability. I only say it is nearly prefect because I wish it came with all of the tools to fine tune the instrument(had to tighten the swing of the tremolo arm) and did not come with the specifications of how or what is needed to make these adjustments. Other than that, I'm extremely happy with this purchase! Well worth the money!AdamDanimal
This is my first 7 string in 20 years and my first guitar over $1200 and it is absolutely amazing! Worth every penny. It looks better in person than in the pictures. The onboard boost is amazing! Very versatile as well, you can get anything from single coil sounds to full on high gain humbuckers, from jazz/blues to freaking metal! I’m not even a big metal player, I mainly wanted the 7th string for more range and to inspire some more creativity. I should have gotten a 7 a long time ago. The strings don’t go out of tune even when you dive bomb all the way down. I’ve only tuned it maybe 3 times in the last month and I’ve played it almost everyday. I have a strat and a Schecter PT Apocalypse and this is the best of both worlds. Highly recommend this guitar to anyone!Brandon P.

Reviews:
Received it with no foam or springs under the neck pickup, so the pickup pretty much rattled. Easy fix, but for over $3k? Bottom E string piezo didn't work. Real hard to set up with low (1mm on 12th fret) action, without buzz. Constantly goes out of tune, especially when using the trem. It sustained real well, and is beautiful, but it drove me crazy the first night I had it. Before you go on thinking I didn't set it up correctly, I worked for Leo Fender in the 80's, and have worked on guitars my whole life.Ernie K
Purchased this guitar in Polar Noir; I love how the everything is blacked out with just a little blong from the black chrome hardware. That said, its looks are flawless and the craftmanship is superb upon the closest inspection. The neck is very thin but extremely comfortable; well rounded edges and complements from the well-rounded stainless steel frets make playing an absolute joy. The guitar is not neck heavy; feels extremely rigid and does not sink regardless of the playing position. The curvature of the body favors the picking hand very well and will not hinder any style of picking. The electronics and hardware are perfect; no wobbly pickups or knobs, solid push-push function with smooth rotation, and pickup switching is effortless. You will immediately notice and appreciate the angles in which the piezo and magnetic switches are aligned. Only flaw; action came in high (~4mm off 12th fret), but was addressed with a proper truss rod adjustment, bridge action adjustment, and high e adjustment. Good thing I setup my own instruments, or I'd be no less than flustered right now.
The Music Man Majesty is gorgeous. It is also hands down the most comfortable and most fun guitar I have ever played! They are worth every bit of praise they get. And I will absolutely be buying the 7 string version. (And the rumored 8 string should it come to reality???) American Musical supply is also a huge help in this purchase. The payment plans are a massive plus, and their customer service was tremendously easy going and friendly.Dustin

Product Details:
Now in new gauges for 2020, ernie ball nickel wound electric slinkys are the worlds best selling guitar strings. used by legendary guitar players such as eric clapton, jeff beck, jimmy page and countless others, these strings are responsible for some of the most recognisable riffs in popular music. mammoth slinky also available.
Reviews:
These replaced the set of 10's that came on my 25.5 inch scale Hanson Firenze; Jazzmaster style offset with classic-wind Firebird-like blade pickups and a Bigsby. No setup changes were required when I dropped back to this lighter 9.5 set. I can't tell the difference in tone but my 64-year-old fingers aren't feeling nearly as much stress when I play. I liked the sound of the 10's compared to the 9's I was accustomed to but my fingers never quite adapted. These in-betweeners feel great and sound good too.Dave
I'm very surprised these strings aren't far more popular. I think it's because most guitarists don't think about in-between gauges. You get the easy playability of 9 gauge and the tuning stability of 10 gauge. They're not so stiff that ye lil finger tip gets all sore doing them bends and not so light that when ya get all into the groove and apply a tad too much pressure them notes start to sound a touch sharp. As for tone, these sound great! Not too bright. Not too dark. Just right. I play a lot in drop D using a Floyd and these are the perfect string. Not too stiff, not too light. Perfect for noodling around the fretboard. I mean, these are 5 bucks a set. Buy a set and check em' out. I'm sure as hell glad I did. As far as stuff getting on your hand as one reviewer stated, well uh, I think that's a dirty bridge and fretboard. Definitely not the strings. How would that even be possible??DanGoodShot
I am beyond gigging at 77 due to arthritis and Tennosynovitis, but these strings allow me to enjoy jams without sacrificing tone. Some necks also become "just right" when they are too limber for nines. If you're a "Tens" minimum guy, give them a try and give your fingers a break. Ernie Ball does it right !

Reviews:
I have used Ernie Ball Slinkys since I started playing guitar (time that can be measured in decades, that's all I say). I have been through other top brands, and just don't like them. I have gotten to know EB strings to the point where I can nearly predict when they'll break. That's good in my book. The lively tone and intonation stays for a LONG time. And they're good enough to scrape clean and, in the word of Billy Idol, Start Again. Well, that beats boiling them (RIP EVH). What's even better is all these new, attractive hybrid sets, allowing you to easily find your groove without having to get two packs for your ideal set! EB just keeps getting better.Guy lll
