Look Hyperx has undoubtedly put the best headsets for gamers with all budgets and made each pair really phenomenal but this new selling of the company has me questioning what's happened. I've owned both the cloud core and cloud 2 wireless headsets only to return both. The legendary comfort and build quality are there for endless gaming sessions but they both lack a high enough volume to actually hear what's going on around you in chaotic game environments. Look the sound is clean, thumping bass, highs/mids truly compliment one another and is probably the best I've heard for all around entertainment. I just don't get where the decibels are to really be able to turn these up and really hear all they have to offer. Call of duty is clear but footsteps and tactic sounds aren't easily picked up because they're quite. Look, a little more volume and these would be headset of the year for $100 and I would get rid of my Steele series Arctis 7p. I returned these for the cloud flight and boom, way better product. They need that little umph to get betterWilliam

The headsets are decent. I have had other headsets from Hyperx before these honestly get the job done. Dont expect to get blown out of your mind. Also i have been getting a weird static sound from these once in a while. I assume its the pair that i have. I may exchange for another or return them completely to get the set up versions.OSA20

Comes fully charged out of the box. Is very comfortable for long periods, amazing sound, good Mic, the auto turn off feature when no sound is played for extended periods really help the battery last well over the 23 hours listed on their specs. Pros: I bought these to act as both handsfree for calls and also for listening to podcasts and music on my phone. The sound quality is great for the budget price, the handsfree is also good. The cushions are comfortable which is nice. Cons: Honestly, any improvements will push up product price and I suspect this headphone set, might struggle to compete for sound quality in a higher price bracket, with other headsets.Generally the headphones are pretty durable for what they are but perhaps slightly stronger headband? A longer cable would also help, when any connected device is inside a bag/lower pocket.Otherwise, they standout as one of the best quality products in their price range.James

I'm a mid 30s male with an average sized head. I bought these for a cheap wired solution my desk set up. I couldn't be happier for $20. They sound good, fit comfortably and feel sturdy enough for being budget headphones. These are not noise canceling and they are not amazing compared to JBL or Bose. If you're after a decent budget headphone with a mic though, you could do infinitely worse than these for the money. I use them for music and video conferencing and have no issues with audio or others hearing me.coach_mcguirk

I bought these to replace my Skullcandy over-the-ear headphones, which are starting to fall apart but still sound great.

First, I should have realized that you get what you pay for. They were 40 dollar headphones on sale for 20. Okay. But as soon as I took them out of the box, they just felt really flimsy. Also, they are not over-the-ear. I tested them by plugging into my stereo system to play a 180 gram vinyl record. They sounded horrible! No treble, no fidelity, no depth at all…just muddy, cruddy bass. Blech! The sound reminded me of an old cassette tape that's been played 200 times. I listened for all of five seconds and put them back in the box. Luckily I have my receipt. I will be taking them back tomorrow.

Like I said, you get what you pay for. Still, I've had several pairs of 15 dollar JVC headphones, which are terrific. I've even had an older pair in the Sony MDR series that was good. These just suck. You will feel angry that you wasted 20 dollars. There is a reason these are discounted 50 percent.Paul Olsen

So far so good. I have only been using them for about a week now, but they seem to be meeting my needs. I used to have 3m worktunes, I went through 2 sets of them and had issues with the wire that connected each side of the headset breaking and they no longer worked. These appear ti be much more sturdy and well built. The connection cable between the two sides of the headset is much thicker and should not have the issues I had with 3m. I work 10 hour shifts and the battery has lasted through the entire shift. One odd thing is the headset automatically seems to shut off after about 4 hours of use all by itself. I just power it back on and off I go. Not sure what the reason is or why this feature is in there, other than to preserve battery life if you are not using them to play audio and forgot they were on and paired to a phone. For what I use them for, I am satisfied so far. As far as noise reduction, they do as they are designed and do cut out quite a bit of noise. I do find I have to take them off to hear someone talking to me at work, though I do work in a very noisy shop with presses and other stamping machinery that is very loud. Between my not so great hearing and all the background noise, I have a hard time hearing anyone talking with these on. As far as comfort, like any headset of this type, they do "Squeeze" a bit on your head. This does not bother me as I have worn this type of hearing protection before, and prefer it as it holds my safety glasses on my face better so they don't fall off when I bend over. Some folks don't like the squeeze feeling and prefer the earplug type protection. I have talked with a couple of employees how they like the ISOtunes in the plug style and they say they like them. ISOtunes has a few different options for this. I personally don't care for the in ear plugs as I have smaller ear canals and they tend to irritate more due to this, thus my over the ear preference. I have read reviews where the headband bothers people, especially with "Bald" heads. I do shave my hair (What is left of it) down pretty close, but I have a few weeks growth right now, so I can't say how they feel when they are directly on my skin. My opinion is if folks do have an issue with this, wear a ball cap or wrap a bandanna around the headband so it doesn't bother you. Again, so far so good for me. Overall quality, construction, battery life and sound all meet my expectations. They will prove their value over time as long as they don't have any failures that would render them useless. They are a bit more expensive than the 3m worktunes, but appear to have a much better quality of build and workmanship for about $25 more pending on where you purchase them.David

I really like the head set. blocks out engine and lawnmower sounds. I link up my I phone to listen to music and news. sound is very good. When I turn the headset on it automatically goes to bluetooth linking mode and connects to the phone without doing anything. GREAT!Bob

I had read that the band adjusters for these headphones were very stiff and didn't extend enough to fit some users heads comfortably but I had neither of these problems and found them very comfortable to wear, with very soft enclosing earpads (and I have big ears!) The sound quality listening to music via bluetooth is great and latency seems low. Many reviewers have commented that these phones emphasise the bass, possibly slightly too much, but comparison with my older wired headphones actually seemed to give a little less bass than them, so who knows. They work well and are nice looking, I would recommend the OneOdio A70 headphones.jellyfishaudio

Seems as well built as the other options I've seen. Better tonal range than Vox and better than having to buy 2 or three devices. First impressions were not that good but as I've used it a bit more I can see me getting more used to it. I probably expected to much and was basing my hopes on the FLY amps. I think the effects are too limited to be worthwhile and would prefer Blackstar to focus on better amp tone. Still, I'm happy with it and for the type of device this is I know of nothing that sounds better. If I lost it I would probably look at the latest options but as it stands this is still the one I would buy. I think all of this type of device are over priced when you consider what a small amp costs but for portable practice in a small space it can't be beaten. Amazing bit of kit for the price! Clean, over drive and distortion channels in a small box the amps to headphones perfectly! Can’t really comment on the effects as not really tried them out! But if you need a tiny portable amp that connects to your headphone for practice i would throughly recommend! Just noticed it even has aux in so I can listen to my Fender tutors without having to have 2 different sets of headphones on the go!!! Total novice managed to get it working in 3 minutes without reading the instructions!Mike

I recently a BOSS Katana Artist MkII amplifier (which I have reviewed elsewhere) and love it. However, it is somewhat of a pain to connect my phone and studio headphones to it to do a little nighttime jamming – both of those require cables, which makes setup and teardown enough pain that I don't want to do it. When I heard of the WAZA-AIR, I found it is almost exactly a Katana in convenient headphone shape. To be clear, I love this thing. It sounds good enough that I will play it and it is a snap to get started. I traded a Fender Mustang Micro for the WAZA-AIR, and the two are not even in the same ballpark. To be fair, the Mustang is about a third the price, so I'm not surprised, but if you are struggling to get a good sound from a Mustang – and if you have the cash – the WAZA-AIR is likely to do what you need. The software and firmware are…finicky at times. There are a few oddities that I can't explain that differ from the Katana software. For instance, it appears that I cannot use both a Booster and the Modulation at the same time. I don't get that. I can still connect a wireless MIDI controller to the WAZA-AIR, and that might open up more possibilities. It's also another investment, and I'm still trying to determine if being able to hit a pedal is worth it. Overall, I do recommend the WAZA-AIR. It sounds great, the convenience can't be beaten, and it is just very solid and feels right. There are a couple of strange parts that – so far – do not detract enough from the experience for me to try to change them. If you are reading this now, I recommend you give it a try. You'll probably be impressed.Robert

I am not sure, but I don't think anyone has ever invented this. It's just headphones that connect to your electric guitar wirelessly, right? In fact, I was just thinking of this, before I discovered these on Sam Ash – because i was sitting there, tangled in headphone wires, guitar cables, and I wondered – can't somebody do this wirelessly? So I did a search, and voi la! Here's the other thing – inside the phones, it sounds like outside the phones. In other words, these are not JUST wireless guitar headphones – they are wireless amplifier headphones. The one thing I don't like – and maybe someone knows the answer – but, the controls, through the app, are pretty limited. Or at least, it's not like a amp modeler, like Spark. But then, Spark is not like Amplitube – actually models hundreds of real amplifier setups – from the real world. If the WAZA could pair up with something like Amplitube, it would be over the top.kronikole

I purchased these in 2018 after some close calls on my bike, not hearing traffic around me. In short, I love them and still use them nearly everyday for bike riding (indoor training or outdoor), working in the garage while my kids are playing, listening to podcasts, … For louder activities (e.g. mowing the lawn, using the table saw), I use earplugs and pause if needed for a few seconds. Speaking of which, the big button on the side is perfect to pause/play/skip tracks when I have gloves on or need to pause quickly to listen to kids, talk to my wife, etc. At some point (maybe 6months?) one ear began to rattle. But I was able to return through the warranty, no trouble at all. AfterShokz Support was beyond helpful and kind. The 2nd pair has had no problems after nearly 2 years. Sound is not as good as over-the-ear or in-ear headphones, but (1) I don't need that all the time, and (2) I am worried about protecting my hearing for the long-term. If I had to note a drawback it would be the big bad around the back — wish it could tighten/resize a little. But I've gotten used to it over time and I only notice it now when I'm wearing something with a high collar. I highly recommend these for outdoor activities, listening to music/podcasts when you still need to be available to someone (e.g. kids, coworkers), and for saving your ears for years!Jason O.

The headphone is simply design for different purpose. For people who love punchy bass and strong strong, then this is not for you. But the best things about this headphone, it the capability to hear your music as perfectly as you hear your environment. I use every time I go for a bike ride I always bring this headphone with me because a noise-cancelation sound almost if not the same as the bone conduction headphone. It allows me to hear my environment while listening to my favorite songs. The media buttons are great when you are riding because it has all the great function you need to control your media. Some other headphone doesn't have enough button to control your media. Furthermore, this headphone is perfect for watching YouTube video because it sound great because you can hear all the detail in the video. The main downside i got is the volume i need to crank up in order to hear the content. Also, the charging port and cover are very soft and it feels like it could break easily. But the customer is very good, when i have a problem with this headphone they were able to help get back on track again. Overall, this product has great for people who love listening to music and watching video while you want to be part of environment as well.Jack A.

Short Story: Purpose-driven product. If you NEED/want to be able to hear your surroundings AS you listen to music or podcasts, etc. (for safety, cycling, etc.) then you might be interested in this product. That's it. Don't get them if you want sound QUALITY while listening. Long Story: I can see the benefits of being able to "be open" to your environment (we've all been on a bike or jogging/walking and been surprised by something like a car or dog coming up on us) but, full disclosure, I'm an audio nerd / music lover and if I'm listening to MUSIC I'm doing it for the quality/enjoyment. I would never listen to music to drown out my surroundings when biking, that's just not proper safety. And if I'm out on a trail/in the woods, I prefer to hear nature around me. My tests were around the house, listening to music, raking leaves in the yard, going for a walk in a local park with both music and podcasts. I did use them for some guided meditation audio where it's nice to listen and be able to hear house/environmental sounds around you which is part of meditation focus for distractions, when you don't want a speaker to disturb anyone around you and don't want to completely block out environment around you. SOUND QUALITY is "just not there for ME" with this product. It's an open-air speaker driver concept which simply points little speakers at your ear canals. If you're old enough to remember the "Walkman" foam covered headsets with the metal headband, this is it. It's a speaker that sits over your ear but not inside, so allows environmental sound in. The "Bone Conduction" is "hey nice try but…." – I found if you use both hands to PRESS DOWN into your ear/mandible bone area where they sit, you can get some additional quality and a bit more bass response but… short of strapping a velcro strap or electrical tape around your head to do so… it's NOT bone-conduction purely, FOR CLARITY – little speaker holes sending sound to your ear PLUS the silicone pads contacting your facial bones to provide sound boost. "it is what it is" – catch them on sale if you're at all interested. I equate them to the same thing as having a small bluetooth speaker around your neck so the sound stays with you as you move around and can hear people/things around you. **did not test any voice-call features; no phone calls etc. **did not keep long enough to test any kind of battery life but in my couple hours of using them it stayed at 100% PROS: ~product fits comfortably, I would use these for in the office listening to podcasts / internet radio etc. And quickly be able to remove them/put them back on. Super light silicone headband stays put and barely noticeable – did not experience the discomfort or headaches others noted. ~no interference / good range! Unlike my main bluetooth earbuds that drop in/out when my phone is simply in my pocket and walking/biking, these kept solid connection through several rooms of my house and down to the basement while phone was upstairs in the living room ~simple pairing. Thanks for making an easy-to-pair process! CONS: ~sound quality. "It is what it is." – you're not buying these for audio quality. They're not HORRIBLE, but be aware. For voice-focused material like podcasts or "talk radio" okay they'd be fine because that audio frequency range picks up well to the ear. But in noisy environments/heavy traffic, you're going to lose your audio here and there BECAUSE you're open to your environment. ~button controls. They're tiny. The "multifunction" button on the left side is easy to access for pause/play actions. But the right-side volume up/down/power button set are miniscule, AND… on the BOTTOM of the headband on that side of the ear. What does that mean ergonomically? Take your right hand and cup it and place it over your right ear. Would you want to press tiny buttons, barely raised above the surface, with your thumb? Sure you will eventually develop muscle memory for your needs but I would rather use the more tactile index finger versus thumb to press a tiny button. Full disclosure: one cannot expect a set of "headphones" to deliver quality sound when the design is "a bunch of toothpick size holes" shooting audio out in the direction of your ear, and if you actually check out where they sit, they sit in FRONT of your ear and 'the little speaker holes' are pointing at/contacting the little piece of flesh in front of your ear canal and not actually pointed AT your ear canal in a straight shot. Sure, you can place the speaker part of the headphones directly OVER your ear canal but you lose low end frequency and it just sounds "more mid rangey" and then…blocks some ambient around you as a result. Again, if you're in NEED of a product that A) allows you to hear environment around you and B) you still WANT to listen to audio, go for it! Grab them on sale and enjoy! If you're any kind of "audio snob" you're not going to like these. These are purely marketed to cyclists/athletes/people working out becauseJ-Fry

I bought one of these with the intention of purchasing more for my classroom. Once I figured out how to use it (not hard), I fell in love. The app they recommend isn't the best which made it seem harder to use initially, but there are soooo many other amazing apps that work with it (I prefer the tonebridge app since it models any song effects you can think of and is free and foolproof). Now the device is super easy to use and I love how I can toggle between sending the feed into an amp or exclusively into headphones. This will make my playing tests and recording the students a breeze, not to mention saving everyone's ears while the kids try to work out riffs or chord progressions.Dave

I dislike giving unfavorable reviews but these headphones were a significant disappointment. I echo much of the reviewers in stating these headphones are muddy-sounding and lack mid and up clarity (IMHO). The lower-mids and below is muddy without clarity (though dominate). I got these headphones on a SDOTD to have reasonable closed-back headphones to listen to music while my partner has Web conferences in the same room (she insists on using speakers). These headphones do isolate reasonable-well. However the performance has gotten to me more and more. Putting on my very old Kenwood headphones from the early 80's is a breath of fresh air after listening to these. Note I am used to listening to open and semi-open back headphones so you may want to take this into account. I gave these three-stars which I think is generous. They do isolate reasonably and to me comfortable to ware. However I feel the sound performance is disappointing.bassdeal

I know – picky picky! If the bass is too strong, just turn it down a little! It's really not that bad, but compared to my other headsets, it is a bit heavy in the mid to upper bass. I probably would have given it 4 1/2 stars if that were possible, but I like them enough that I didn't want to down-rate them. I bought these to replace an Audio-Technica ATH-M35 set that died, couldn't be repaired, and are no longer available. These are so similar that I wondered if they might have come from the same manufacturer. These are lightweight, comfortable when worn for long sessions, and overall have a clean, smooth sound, except for the slight rise in bass response. For a lightweight set they do fairly well at blocking ambient noise, and they cover the ears well. I would recommend against them for DJ or on-location mixing because of the lightweight construction, but for general listening or lighter-duty work, they work well.Bill

I use them mainly for listening to music via my laptop. They're comfortable and sound great imo. I have other Tascam recording gear, so I'm familiar with their brand quality. I got them on sale. What a great sounding mini amp. I've had to use headphone mini amps for the last 15 years due to time constraints and location of practice area. I didn't want to use the precious practice time I had just to set up full size amp for only an hour or so and then return everything back to storage area. It was so much simpler and convenient just to plug a mini amp into my guitar, put on head set and play. Down side was always the quality of the mini amps I was using. I was getting them for around half of what a vox cost.. I always wanted a vox but they were expensive. After joining mf rewards club and making several purchases I bought my vox for about half price by applying my points to the purchase. I should have never waited. This vox is 10 times better than the cheaper brands. As soon as I opened the packaging and held it in my hand I could feel the quality. When I first plugged it in and started playing I got really upset. Not at the mini amp but at myself for waiting so long. I highly recommend buying this mini amp. Trust me. It's really worth it and you'll be glad you did.Horn

Cannot praise this device highly enough. It sounds great, and is ridiculously versatile for such a small device, comprising not only Gain, Tone and Volume controls, together with three levels each of effects options Chorus, Delay and Reverb, but also Clean, Crunch and Lead. Two AAA batteries are required (included), and give hours of usage. Just plug it into your guitar, attach headphones (decent pair of over-ear type are best, but don't need to be expensive) and, if wishing to practice over a track by your favourite band, simply attach an appropriate device such as a tablet or 'phone. If you require to free your amPlug2 sound from the confines of headphones, Vox also offer a mini, 2 watt, amPlug2 amp/speaker to which you attach your amPlug2 and play out loud (but not loud enough to annoy the neighbours. The wonderful Vox 50 watt amp/cab stack Mini Superbeetle Audio blue tooth speaker also doubles as a guitar amp, complete with amPlug2 compatibility, but at full volume, this would definitely annoy the next door neighbours, and possibly those further afield. The amPlug has given me new found freedom to play and practice without needing to wait for opportunities where it can be done without audibly intruding on the personal space of others in the household. I have subsequently invested in the equally good Classic Rock amPlug2 (and which, on balance, I prefer), together with both the aforementioned Vox Mini amPlug2 cab/speaker and Superbeetle Audio blue tooth amp/speaker stack. Basically, the freedom afforded by the amPlug2 headphone amp has reinvigorated my love of guitar playing, and I try to squeeze in some practice time on a daily basis. I even felt enthused enough to unnecessarily treat myself to a new guitar. This amPlug2 is real value for money, but it has inadvertently cost me a small fortune.johnclark1954

Given the price, I was expecting a pair of headphones that would deliver basic sound with the benefit of circumaural (around the ear) noise isolation. The sound range is quite nice with decent bass. Furthermore, the construction, while "plastic-y" is somewhat solid, so long as not handled roughly. After a few hours of listening, I did not feel like the headphones were heavy nor were my ears sweaty / sore. My only issue is that the tilt adjustment is a bit loose. I find myself putting these on while holding the headband to make sure I can get them tilted the most to my ears. They will stay in place once on the ears. OVERALL,: For the price, it is easy to tell that these headphones are definitely a technological advancement from when similar headphones would have cost closer to $80 – $100 just 30 years ago.HarK

In the description it says these over the ear headphone cancel noise. They do not! I am totally disappointed. They work just like on the ear headphones. I can hear everything in the background, even a chair being pulled away from a desk. I guess you do get what you pay for. I don't want to pay more for returning these. they should not have advertised these as having noise cancelling technology.Janice .

I bought these Koss headphones a few months ago for about $20, so I've had some time to get to know them. I mainly use them around the house to listen to youtube videos and music. First things first, the sound quality is not great. For $20, I did not expect too much, but even so was disappointed. Everything from podcasts and youtube videos to music sounds muddy and unclear. It does a decent job of delivering bass response, most likely due to the larger drivers, so props there. They do a great job of cancelling out background noise, and are surprisingly light for being so large. I also noticed after a while that the audio on the earmuffs is reversed! Sounds that should play from the left, play from the right instead, and vice-versa. And the muffs on these are huge! They easily fit over my ears with room to spare, and are pretty comfortable with thick padding. The headband is also very pliable, which makes it comfortable even without any padding there. The adjustment on the muffs is quite annoying though, being spring-loaded. I'd get them where i wanted them, and as i spread them open to put them on, the muffs would automatically slide back to the default position. I suppose this is intended to help them stay on your head, but i personally did not like the feature. The headband tension is slightly strong, but i did not find it uncomfortable even after extended periods of listening. The cable on these is just ridiculously long at about 1 meter (3ft). I found that moving around it would catch on everything i walked by, so i ended up coiling the cable up a bit, but in doing so it created an awkward weight. Another thing is that, out of the box, the jack on these headphones looks to be good quality, but isn't. Spinning/moving the jack at all would occasionally cause the sound to cut out or create static, and i found it did not stay properly seated most of the time. I tested this on various devices to the same results, but this could be a manufacturing issue with my pair. So how have they held up? I would say, pretty well. The coating on the earmuffs is starting to flake away, which i think should have held out for a bit longer. But otherwise they have held up well. I have replaced the cable with another, shorter one, and no longer have the issue with sound cutting out. It did not, however, have any impact on sound quality so that appears to be due to the drivers themselves. The bottom line: They are cheap, but are also cheaply-made. There are much better options out there for the same price. I would not recommend, nor would i buy them again.Joshua

I bought these on the stupid deal of the day. They were very inexpensive, and I got what I paid for it. I have a much higher end pair of AKG headphones, and there's no comparison. These sound thin, and have a mid-range honk in them. Four basic listening to music, they would be okay. They don't measure up to my Sony 7506's at all. For the average listener just wanting a pair of headphones to listen to music, they're okay. However, if I were to use them in a studio application, they would be useless. I've been recording for more years than I can remember, and while my 7506 headphones have been my go-to, my upper intake AG's have a different sound, but they're very neutral. They have a great balance. I kind of thought this would be similar, but I should have known for the price I paid, which was less than 1/10 of my good ones, that they wouldn't measure up. Astonishing sound for the price. If you want low cost, quality materials, light, comfortable and a transparent sound go no further. The cable is thicker, longer and more durable than most in this price range. The cunning headband results in a set of headphones that will not squeeze your head until your eyes pop out so very comfortable for long listening sessions. I am surprised at the transparency of the sound, using my classic NAD and Sony amplifiers the sound stage is good, bass is thick and detailed, the highs are crisp but not sibilant. Mids are perhaps slightly muted but a little EQ sorts that out. These are closed back and leakage is minimal, but they don't suffer the boxy sound that often comes with low cost closed back headphones. Overall the sound is vibrant, detailed and agile. There is no mushiness, boomy bass or shrill highs. If you drive these with a decent source they will deliver a good approximation of what you put in. I bought these headphones about a year ago, so I can tell you a lot about it. First of all, I like this large size. There is no pressure on the ears. Secondly, it is a long and flexible wire, which is a big plus for me. And most importantly, the sound that is the BEST for the money. Perhaps the sound in these headphones is the most detailed and lightest of all that I have heard. As for the disadvantages, I want to say that it is impossible to replace the wire if you damaged it. When it comes time to buy new headphones, I will choose from AKG. Thanks a lot!Rodion

What a great sounding mini amp. I've had to use headphone mini amps for the last 15 years due to time constraints and location of practice area. I didn't want to use the precious practice time I had just to set up full size amp for only an hour or so and then return everything back to storage area. It was so much simpler and convenient just to plug a mini amp into my guitar, put on head set and play. Down side was always the quality of the mini amps I was using. I was getting them for around half of what a vox cost.. I always wanted a vox but they were expensive. After joining mf rewards club and making several purchases I bought my vox for about half price by applying my points to the purchase. I should have never waited. This vox is 10 times better than the cheaper brands. As soon as I opened the packaging and held it in my hand I could feel the quality. When I first plugged it in and started playing I got really upset. Not at the mini amp but at myself for waiting so long. I highly recommend buying this mini amp. Trust me. Cannot praise this device highly enough. It sounds great, and is ridiculously versatile for such a small device, comprising not only Gain, Tone and Volume controls, together with three levels each of effects options Chorus, Delay and Reverb, but also Clean, Crunch and Lead. Two AAA batteries are required (included), and give hours of usage. Just plug it into your guitar, attach headphones (decent pair of over-ear type are best, but don't need to be expensive) and, if wishing to practice over a track by your favourite band, simply attach an appropriate device such as a tablet or 'phone. I bought these as a "Stupid Deal of the Day" and was fooled into paying full price for a low-quality rebranded headphone. The outer design and construction suggests these have a real studio-quality pedigree, but alas that is a disguise – they absolutely do not. The drivers lack clarity and do not so much as attempt a flat response. I'm not sure who I would recommend these to, if anyone, but if you are curious do not spend more than one-quarter of the published retail price. Even better, spend nothing on these, and instead pay retail for one of the classics. The TH-300x's can then be simulated by putting a blanket over your head before listening.Andrew V

These headphones are definitely not for studio use, or for anyone who needs full-range audio. Overly bassy (not unlike Beats), muddy midrange, and thin high end. I've heard better earbuds for half the price. To be fair, they're robust and seem to be well-built, but I'll donate them to someone before I try to use them in the studio or on the air. There are MUCH better options out there in the price range. Thank goodness I got them as a "Good Deal of the Day" instead of paying anywhere near list – or even regular – price.Brian

I just bought a couple of these on sale price to add to my early-stage home studio. Overall, I'm pleased with these. I think they're great to throw on each of my band members to lay down tracks. Plenty of low end to keep the drummer and bassist happy, high freqs don't offend, and mids sound good. In fact, I'm not really sure what my issue is with these. However, when I'm mixing and think I have a good sound, I'll compare with a pair of Skull Candy Aviators and Apple Ear pods and find different issues with each. Not huge issues, but usually something to do with the mid to mid-high range. It SEEMS like these color their mid freqs. a tad. I know all headphones are different and it is good practice to often switch between different sets for reference, and it could totally be inexperience on my part as a mixer, but these are the issues I've come across after 20+ hours of use. It is not something that would discourage me from recommending these to fellow home studio dudes and dudettes. Probably not for audiophiles, but if you are one, you're probably not even shopping in this price range to begin with. The pros definitely outweigh the cons with these and at the price I got them, I couldn't be happier.J. Flores

Meh … but, shoot, what should one expect for such a low price? While these cans are fairly lightweight, they are fairly well built, overall. Comfortable, with little or no "microphonic" distractions (meaning one does not hear noise from the cable or headband or earphone receiver cups – as occurs so often on inexpensive headphones.) Cable is lightweight and does not feel as durable as the rest of the unit. Headband copies many other headphones, such as the venerable SONY 7506 and some Audio-Technica studio monitors – and is just OK (no complaint, but nothing special,either). Sound signature is dark, muffled, and lacking detail. Mid range and treble frequencies are subdued and dull. Bass is muddy and lacks punch, and disappointing overall. But, this is what one USUALLY expects and gets at this price point. In contrast, the similarly priced Takstar HD-2000 has a far cleaner, more open, and detailed audio profile, and Superlux HD-661 andHD-672 for an additional ten to fifteen buckaroos are WAY more open, clear, clean, punchy, and neutral – i.e., accurate – and represent a huge bargain among affordable headphones. Similarly the JVC HRA-R700 are a much more substantial product with far superior sound, close to the Superlux, (which I think are the current performance value leaders in this market segment. Therefore, while the Musician's Gear headphones are … um … just OK … they ARE, ultimately, worth what you pay for them. I guess. I will probably give these away to someone without any headphones. I rate them 3 stars because they are just average, ordinary cans for the price – as I think there are better alternatives for the same or just a little more of your hard earned brass. And this is just MY take – your mileage may vary.TT

GREAT HEADPHONES for GREAT PRICE! ~ Took a little bit of time to arrive, but well worth the wait. – IMPORTANT NOTE: I destroyed my headphones by trying to splice the wire in-order to shorten them, the cord is quite long…, but, when I cut the cord, it was Impossible to re-connect they barely have any insulation between the wires, I ended up buying another pair.
