Reviews:
I have injected a new lease of life into my creativity after getting this pedal. It is great for getting a full sound for your ideas whilst writing parts to songs. I do both acoustic songs and stuff with my band and it works for both. The drum projections are really good, however, the bass doesn't always come through how you want it. It's best on a simple setting, which you can change with the press of a button. It is incredibly user friendly, and you can get good results really quick. I imagine it can be used in a live setting, but it's definitely catered more for the likes of writing songs or practicing playing to a band. If you write, I would recommend adding this to your tool box. Worth the money, absolutely!
Nothing is perfect so a 5-star rating on most anything isn’t very useful without critical review when trying to make a purchase decision so I would give it 2.5 stars if I could. The Trio+ concept was a good idea but in my view poorly executed and way over priced. Like many have already said, it is not generally easy to get a good result from the Trio+ Even after a few weeks of getting to grips with its functions. It’s hit and miss mostly when using it and mostly miss. “Sometimes” you can get “fairly decent“ results after multiple attempts but often the result is unusable. Their SDRUM product while not a looper provides better drum/bass accompaniment with much less fuss, is much easier to use and less expensive. The SDRUM coupled with their JamMan looper is far more intuitive and provides usable good results most of the time. I own both products and I use the SDRUM almost always instead of the Trio+. The trio+ just doesn’t live up to its cost or hype. Sometimes it works ok but just ok. If you get the results you want then maybe it’s for you but in my view I couldn’t in good faith recommend it to a friend so I definitely would not rec to a stranger. My advice is to get an SDRUM and if you need it get Digitech’s stand alone Looper to sync with it. That combo isn’t perfect either but far more satisfying and predictable to use. I do not recommend the Trio+ to anyone.Dennie
Wanna jam? No other players around? This dingus provides a competent backing band to solo or compose over. This gizmo does it all. Loop a phrase, play over it, start the band, and start on your extended musical forays. As satisfying a pedal as I've ever encountered. I've coveted owning this since the product debuted many years ago.Lou P.

Great practice device! Very well built. Still exploring all the ways to use it, but the basic 'strum and get bass and drums' is easy. Including the looper rounds out the package to produce entire songs. Be careful or your entire day will be gone before you know it while you're jamming away!John
Now that requires a caveat, because obviously you need cables. But, out of the 4 cables shown here, none of them will work with the FS3X foot switch. You get what 's shown, and it doesn't hurt to have the odd cable around for this and that, but an out of the box system this isn't. The FSX3 foot switch requires a Stereo TRS 1/4" male to male cable, in order to work. All of the cables here are mono. This frustrated me no end when I couldn't get the foot switch to act as advertised. I didn't lambaste the seller, because I got everything as shown, and I blame my lack of due diligence and abundance of ignorance for the problems I encountered. This takes some getting used too, there's a bit of a learning curve and timing is key.. I've had a couple of things that sound fantastic, and far more that miss the boat entirely. I'm sure a lot of that is me. But ,all in all it's an interesting little beastie.wazu_wazu

Reviews:
There are a ton of reviews and demos for this product online so I won't go into all the features. The best use really is solo practice and maybe early demo recording when you're just working things out on your own. What's great about it is that there is no programming. You don't have to worry about setting the tempo, it just picks it up from your playing, so it's very convenient and spontaneous. I'm tech savvy and I've programmed beats, but when i practice, I don't want to mess with that stuff. I want to plug in and play. This unit It makes practice and solo jamming more fun and creative. There is a level of randomness in the algorithm, so it does add in fills and variations. I've found myself getting into a groove by virtue of 'having a drummer' rather than just riffing on my own. The built in effects/amp sims(?) sound decent enough and work well with headphones or into a 4 tracker. The amp/mixer outputs work great with an amp like the Blackstar HT5 that has an MP3/AUX in, so you can cleanly hear the drums and bass, but use real amp tone. You COULD use this for performance, but the sounds are a bit karaoke sounding. The interface may also limit its usefulness in a live situation unless you are creative or are doing some kind of solo live jam. I play with a band and we're working on an original set in the vein of Clutch or Helmet, and the Trio isn't helpful for that. It plays pretty straight, and doesn't get really heavy. But it generates a variety of good beats to jam with, practice your timing, and maybe inspire some riffs to take to rehearsal. Overall, it's a lot of fun for enhancing your practicing.Talman
I bought this pedal almost on a whim, as I was browsing MF site. I have higher expectations for this little pedal, once I pass over the inevitable learning curve — I have have been very pleased with it so far. The only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is because I will be needing the external pedal stomp (DigiTech FS3X 3-Button Footswitch). It seems it will be easier to change between song parts. And another thing, I am trying to figure out a better way to incorporate it with my Digitech RP1000. The pedal sounds great when I have clean sounds, but if I use an effect that has some distortion it will affect the sound of the trio as well. There might be a way around it, but so far I haven't found it. I'll do a follow up review if I figure it out. Some of the other reviewers said it best, give it a nice clean easy progression and it will give you a solid bass/drum line consistently. This thing is very particular if you embellish the original chords, if you do, the bass/drum line will get very busy and it might or might not sound right, or even feel as it is accelerating the tempo. If you give it solid bars to follow it will do just fine. For example, I tried some ballads started to move quite fast. I adjusted my strumming and it corrected the issue. Regardless your experience level, you have to give credit to Digitech for coming up with something that "learns" and performs so quickly. Try doing that with a new band member and ask him/her to adjust the genre & style and tempo to whatever your heart desires on the spot without writing down how they should follow you. Let alone get your bass player and your drummer doing that synchronized on the fly. So far I've had only a few hours available to play around with this. It does require a bit of a learning curve. I have not yet gotten a chance to go to the Digitech Site to download all pertinent info, so I am sure I will be improving the product capabilities as time goes by. I am happy with my purchase.BeeZee
The Digitech TRIO is exactly what it claims to be – a "band in a box" that learns chord progressions "on the fly" and supplies bass-and-drum backing based on your natural rhythm. This is a great tool for practicing riffs and even whole songs when no other musicians are available to play along with you. Once you get used to how this pedal responds to your playing, it's lots of fun to jam with. I wouldn't necessarily use this model (original TRIO) for live performance, because teaching your TRIO each song in front of an audience might bore them, if they don't understand what's going on. (For live work, the TRIO+ would be best, as it allows you to save settings to an SD card, and has an onboard looper.) For home practice, however, this is a great tool and lots of fun. I would recommend buying the Digitech FS3x footswitch to fully unlock the potential of this pedal. I did, and it was worth the extra money.silverface74

I have been playing off and on for 30 years and when I saw this on YouTube it blew me away. This is one amazing little effects box. There is a lot to it, and is quite sophisticated, and they only give you a 3×5 card of instructions in the box. This is a joke. Go to the website and download the 31 page PDF user manual. It has its limits. It can only handle one song or project at a time. There are 3 different parts to have the unit learn for variations like verses, chorus, and bridge. But it is a pain to keep re-learning them. Maybe that is why they came out with the Trio+ which can store 12 songs per replaceable SD card and inlcudes a looper. But that is another $100. For guitarists or songwriters looking to experiment with different styles to enjoy, it is perfect. Includes a headphone jack. Very rugged. Highly recommended.jpnagy_usa
Trio+ is easy to set up and begin using. I taught "the band in the box" three cords, and began listening to the genres and styles, playing with the tempo. I played along and it was good to work on my timing. I pressed the guitar fx button to toggle between clean, rhythm and lead. I like the rhythm and lead sounds. The bass and drums sound realistic and full, eventually you will want to monitor them through headphones or a separate full range system. I will download the instruction manual and the system has enough features that I will be busy for years. I can see my timing improving already.065alb

This is going to be a marmite product – if you only plays Chicago blues you are going to struggle to find a use. However if you enjoy playing many other styles, it adds to your tone pallet. Gut feeling is it will take practice to get more than swoop up/down Morello impersonations- it's like a new instrument at my feet. As pitch shifters go it has impeccable tracking and wealth of features. It covers several other Digitech products in one rather large red box – going to need a bigger pedal board. One feature is the warbleless chorus. All that richness without the whooshing. Another feature is the fixed pitch shifting which lets it be used as a virtual capo. I can think of many occasions when that would have been of use.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
I use this only sparingly, but it is so awesome to be able to transpose my guitar a half step up or a half step down in seconds to play songs in the key our singer requests while keeping proper fingering and not needing addtional, alternately tuned guitars. Does an awesome job tracking, but again, I only go a half step up or down, so the sound quality is still really good….sure beats the hassle of bringing several guitars and having to switch. We tune a half step down, and I use it for this purpose on few of the songs we perform at gigs. I have this first in line, right after my guitar, so it works extremely well for whammy and drop/raise tuning applications, but since it is not in an effects loop, the harmony option doesn't sound good. I run this into the front of my Soldano SLO100. I also love the whammy side on rare occasion, to throw in a wild noise ,,,or if I'm ever asked to play any Rage Against the Machine songs. Again, I use it very rarely/sparingly, but I highly recommend and I love having it on my board for when I do use it.Al
This pedal is terrific. Very easy to learn and intuitive. It has two sides: on the left, you have your whammy/harmony effects, with some nice chorus-y sounding detune effects thrown in for good measure. On the right, you have your detune effects where you can go up or down seven semitones, or a full octave higher or lower, with or without dry signal. This means you can instantly take your standard tuned guitar down to C, or B, or hell, even A if you're TRVLY CVLT. You can play an octave lower with dry signal and voila, you now have a bassline running underneath your guitar. I bought this pedal because I love whammy effects, and originally was going to buy the Whammy 5, but this is that pedal PLUS the detune effects. This is especially useful with Floyd Rose or other floating bridge guitars. We all know what a pain in the @$$ those things are to tune.kdbrown777

I've had mine now for the better part of a year, countless rehearsals and a growing list of gigs. It does everything all the previous reviews have already documented. But I'll add something not yet mentioned… mine was producing very noticeably weird two tone sounds when I had it plugged into the power supply box on my pedalboard, I've heard they draw a lot of power so I instead routed with a Trutone 1 Spot AC adapter to the AC power strip also affixed to my board (see photo) and that seems to have resolved the problem. Hope this helps anyone having that same issue. I like this pedal a lot… it is a very useful tool to have, from practicing and learning songs, to rehearsals and gigs too.
Preface, I use this with an acoustic violin fitted with a BTS pickup (dual piezos/string), OR with a Greek steel stringed laouto to immediately change from standard tuning to a 5th lower (Cretan, Southern Aegean tuning). Pros – This is a mentality saver. You can be a fantastic musician, able to transpose well, yet regardless of the instrument you are using, and still get a little tripped up when you need to switch course and play in some oddball key. Voila! Drop! I learned about this pedal from a class A1 violin player from Greece (composer, lyricist and recording artist who has recorded with just about every big name- this person is no joke, message me for his name if interested). This person can transpose to any weird key you throw at him, why use it? His response? "Because when I'm on stage and I need to switch quickly to an odd key, I can simply hit the button and not have to think about it". So I gave it a try, and have been using it for 2 years now… it's a life saver. I'm just a fiddler, but this saves me from stressing out and I can play free and it sounds GREAT. It tracks so well I can't tell if there is any latency at all. Cons- With my current setup, I find that I need to either play in front of a monitor or near a speaker or use IEM's, as when playing through the pedal with an acoustic instrument, obviously you are going to hear the natural AND the modified sounds and you ARE going to think it sounds like garbage, then attempt to junk it. DONT DO IT! Unless your pedal is defective, your sound from the speakers is clean. This pedal is meant to be used with mainly electric instruments. During sound check, as loud as you can be, you'll still hear the acoustic sound of your instrument, yet once you are playing with the full band (depending on what your band consists of), it will eventually drown out the sound, and you'll be able to focus on your modified tone, but this is not consistent. Just be aware. If you can, I suggest using some sort of IEM system, wired or wireless, or a monitor. My next step is getting an electric violin body to use this tool even more effectively, but moreso in order to truly utilize my pickup. In a nutshell: Do it!pazarinyc
Sound: Unbelievable how well this pedal track's notes and cords with no noticable latency, IMO it sounds better than tuning down. Features: It's a tank ! Sturdy , Solid , Heavy for it's size , no instructions needed , plug and play Ease of Use: This is simple , Standard tuned guitar , twist the knob to earth shaking low's. Quality: As mentioned , it's a tank , solid construction. Value: I hesitated on this purchase because of the price for a one trick pedal , Worth every penny ! Manufacturer Support: I have several DigiTech products , I still have the old RP-1 and it function's like new , I have no doubt this pedal will give me many year's of service. The Wow Factor: I prefer to play my guitars in standard tune , it's always been a hassle to get the right string tension when drop tuning , this pedal just ended that problem for me Overall: Just unboxed this pedal, been playing it for 2hrs , bar none the best pedal I've ever played ! Keeping the guitar in standard tune and dropping it to two whole steps , the notes and cords track perfectly ! No more floppy strings and no more switching guitars, the pedal is a must have for anyone who plays multiple drop tunings. This pedal is a tank solid heavy construction.Dennis

Overall: Finally got another Whammy V after missing my prior one in a "stupid-sell all-great new multi unit dumb idea". Not sure what to say about this pedal as it would seem of the many vids I have seen on it, I cast doubt if anyone really can understand how to use it without having one for a time. I constantly hear this "weeeeoooo" thing and really that might be of use now and then but what nails this pedal for me is the harmonizer mode section. 8va's and 4ths,5ths, utterly amazing. This is not so much a moving the pedal thing as everyone seems to want to do. Most of th etime mine is parked up or dwn for a specific harmony or maybe a sweep of low to high octave, play a version of Dazed and Confused using this and you may just never be the same. The lowered 5th harmonizer mode on this puppy is probably one of the best all time tones I have ever had the pleasure of playing. A harmonizer, with no set key or scale restriction, polyphonic tracking, true bypass, I'd pay more just for that. The DT model is cool but I am not really doing step tuning variants. Anyway, this pedal is sooooo much better than what you will hear being done on typical vids. Mastering this puppy will afford you a range of really cool tone possibilities nothing else can muster. Those who hate this pedal suffer from the terrible videos of it or the old models that glitch and burble from only being monophonic tracking. The buffer has been removed and this is improved poly tracking tech! Full bandwidth 1M ohm and out. Simply no comparison tech wise to the previous models.Whambam
I love how certain players use this pedal. Bucketed is the absolute master of the Digitech Whammy. I like Buckethead and got a whammy to try for myself. The only time I actually use it during performance as a ad-lib bit. The problem is that when its engaged it sucks the life out of your tone. Its like going from an all tube amp to using an iRig to play your guitar through your cell phones speakers. The effects are crazy awesome though. People that don't know gear that hear you play, bug out when they are trying to figure out how in the world you are getting those crazy sounds. The pedal needs recalibrate all the time. For no reason, even when you have the pedal on heel down, when you engage the unit the pitch will shift. The dive bomb effects are crazy for weird rumbling effects. All in all, typical of my experience with Digitech, they aren the best effects tonally. But if you want to go weeeee-ooohhhhh, weed-ohhhhhh a bunch for the fun of it, this is your pedalSpaceman Spiff
Bought this in a heartbeat to replace my Digitech Whammy IV, which is a fantastic pedal but lacks the sound quality and additional features of this latest version: the Whammy V. For the uninitiated: The Digitech Whammy is a versatile pitch-shifting, harmonizer, octave, drop-tune, and chorus pedal used extensively by at least one of your favorite pro guitarists: Johnny Greenwood, Tom Morello, Jack White, Matt Bellamy, Buckethead, and countless others. I use it not just to replicate parts of their songs–Johnny's +2-octave riff in "Just", the solo in "Like a Stone", the "bass" line in "Seven Nation Army"–but in plenty of my own songs, both live and in the studio. The construction is solid and designed for both touring and in-studio use–durable but not too heavy, big but not obnoxious. Next, the upgrades: This new Whammy comes with two huge improvements. The first is true-bypass switching. Previous models are well known for being tone-sucking beasts, and although there is still a noticeable change in your sound when this latest version is on, when it's off it's off. The other massive upgrade is polyphonic tracking while pitch-shifting, which means it can shift entire chords up or down without sounding glitchy or garbled (e.g., "My Iron Lung"). For people who like that glitchy Whammy IV sound and want the option to use it, there's now a Classic/Chords switch which lets you do just that. On the cosmetic side, Digitech renamed a few modes, reorganized the layout, and brought back the Whammy logo on the expression pedal. All of these upgrades are godsends for long-time users. Finally, the drawbacks: First, as always, there is no "intelligent" harmonizer setting, so you're still limited to choosing an interval–4th, 5th, 7th–and not a key–Bb, C#, E–for your harmonies. Also, this latest version keeps the MIDI jack but ditches the dry output, which is a bummer. Overall, the Whammy V is a phenomenal improvement over the IV and a unique pedal in its own right. 5/5Joe B.

Reviews:
Ok. There are a bunch of different looper pedals available these days with a wide price range. I wanted a simple ( budget priced) looper to lay down ideas on the fly and groove over my rhythm. So..i put a microphone into this and record my rhythm into my Peavey mixer and jam away. I did notice that running this into my simple tube mic preamp (behringer w/ lower gain 5751) made a huge difference on the final sound. For the price of these little pedals…you can't go wrong. It even has a power supply included! Seems to function just like other loop pedals I have owned. Get your timing right ..start-end. Playback. Layer. Buy it!jammin_joemusic
Operations are not intuitive. Very frustrating, high learning curve. Too many possible setting selections to be done in a certain sequence. Reminds me of my first digital electric wrist watch instruction sheet. " Press 1, hold 2 for 3 seconds, press 1 once more, press and hold 1 and 2 once for each display item, press twice to delete, once more to set default…" Try to remember that each time you want to set the time or alarm. However—Once I learned how to use it, I totally love it. It's like a miniature recording studio. It will only accept a 1Gb or less memory card. Anything larger will not work. It has an input for both instrument and microphone. Most others only have one. Knowing precisely when to end recording takes a lot of practice. If not done exactly right, the playback loop will not be complete. I always start recording with the bass line, no vocals and always use the metronome, mic off. Once you're satisfied with that, you can overdub to your hearts content. I would recommend writing down exact initial startup settings for the mic and instrument volume knobs. That way, you can control recorded levels for vocals and instruments. If you are recording a song with dominant guitar presence, raise it a little before you start recording. If you want a soft harmony vocalin the background, lower the mic volume before starting. You cannot change individual track levels once they are recorded or overdubbed.ron6253
I've owned a Jamman Solo for a few years now and haven't spent much time with it for various reasons. When I finally got to spend some time, it was not that easy for me to use. I watched some You Tube videos on how to use it, which got me going faster than trying to read the manual, and I was overdubbing with ease on the factory pre-set loops. For some reason, which I haven't had time to figure out, I cannot create my own loop from scratch. I follow the directions, but I cannot even get started. The drum machine is hard for me to set at the right tempo. I know I need to read and reread the manual a few times to get there, but haven't been able to make the time. Another problem for me is being colorblind. I have trouble seeing the color(s) of the light(s) to know which mode I'm in, etc. So, today I decided to buy and try the JamMan Express XT. I can return it in 30 days if I don't like it, so I have nothing to lose. Other than getting my timing down, which I figured out fairly quickly, this thing is so easy to use, it amazed me. I created a loop, then added some overdubs and had such a great time with it in such a short time, I think I already know that I'm going to keep it. I wish the JamMan solo was this easy. I want to create some loops for keeps which cannot be done with the JamMan Express. I cannot wait to surprise my bass player next week when I can create a loop on the fly, add some overdubs, and we can jam along with it. I don't think us using a drum machine will hurt my creation of loops with this thing, it is incredibly easy to use compared to my old JamMan solo. Unfortunately, the JamMan solo is an older model and it does not have the sync inputs, but that won't stop me from using both, once I figure it out. I recommend the JamMan Express XT to anybody just getting started with using a looper pedal. The learning curve, mostly the timing, should not be too bad and as the Digitech Rep says, you can grow with it. If I find the need, I wouldn't hesitate getting another one. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because you can't save loops like you can with the JamMan Solo.joeprs

Reviews:
The Mosaic pedal is easy to use, and produces a realistic 12 string effect. It comes with it's own power supply, and I recommend using it as it seems to use quite a lot of energy to produce the effect. When I first connected it in my chain, powered by the wimpy Snark power supply, it didn't really work. The light came on when I pressed the on/off button, but the effect wasn't happening. Then I used the power supply that came with it. Suddenly, out came the shimmering sound of an electric 12 string. In short, it might not sound like a Rickenbacker, but its close enough, and much less expensive. If you want the sound of a 12 string, but don't want to spend the money, this may be the perfect substitute.jonaha650
Overall: Ive been using my Roland Gr-55 (w/ GK-3) to add 12 string shimmer to my sound for years. This little box is amazing! Tracking is impeccable, and the controls are so simple I was up and running within seconds! The metal box is sturdily built, and COMES with a muscular 9v, 1.3amp power supply(?!?!) Switching is silent, and the effect tracks tonal changes between pickups well enough that once dialed in, I dont need to touch the tone knob. If I get insanely picky, I kinda wish there was a separate out for the 12string sound, but that would negatively affect the affordable price and kind of defeat the 1 pedal= 2 instrument simplicity. If you never ever wished you had a 12 string, but it antway! You'll see what you've been missingDennis
I have both a 6 string and 12 string Rickenbacker. I don't normally like to take my 12 string gigging because I've got enough other gear to haul around and the 12 string is only used on a few songs. Plus all the associated issues with tuning, string replacement, swapping guitars, etc. The Mosaic does a pretty credible job of making my six string sound like a 12 string. It does not produce a perfect reproduction, but I find it good enough that I'm using it regularly. Considering the technology needed to generate the 12 string sound from a six string instrument, I'm actually very impressed that it does a good a job as it does. And the fact that it is polyphonic is icing on the cake. I've used electronic harmonizers to try and duplicate a 12 string sound, but they always failed in two areas. You could not play chords and the high B and E strings sounded just awful because the harmonizer would try and play notes an octave above on those strings as well (usually rendering this approach useless).. I found that the Mosaic gives a pretty credible 12 string reproduction on the E, A, D, and G strings. Fortunately the upper B and E strings do not get the octave treatment. They remain with the original pitch, but they don't quite have the full tonal resonance of a true 12 string. It isn't bad, just not quite perfect. All in all, I feel its a good product, does a good enough job and I'm happy with the 12 string emulation. I think its a credible option to consider if you need a 12 string sound, but can't justify the cost and issues of owning a true 12 string.bgb92549
15. Digitech S Drum Strummable Drums Pedal For Guitarists
Product Details:
This is a very cool toy for your pedal board. it has actually made me think more about the construction of the songs i'm learning cuz it forces you to lay down the beat. super versatile beat sounds. works really well with a digi tech looper. you can connect them with a 1/4 in cable and they sync with each other. so your loop track starts on the 1 along with you drum track. main time settings are 3/4 and 4/4. i'm moving to a computer based backing track (great, another rabbit hole for me) so the pedal is moving on. i have the original box but not the power supply. i have a 300 m/a output on my power block that works. fyi, a 100 m/a supply will not work.
Specifications:

Reviews:
Really great drum machine if you want something that's fairly quick and easy to get up and running. The samples are good, it has plenty of right hand rhythmic variation and grooves available via a rotary knob, and the ability to select alternate sounds (hat/ride/floor tom), (snare/cross-stick/tambourine) is really handy. The auto-generated chorus is also quite useful, especially if you want to create your drum parts on the fly. There is a bit of a learning curve, particularly if you want to utilize more than just its basic features, but it's worth diving into the manual to learn all that the SDRUM is capable of. I also recommend utilizing the optional foot switch in order to access its additional capabilities.jacobkaran
Amazing quality of features in such a compact pedal. Simple functions are super easy. I love that it can store up to 36 songs, each with its own verse, chorus, and bridge. The learning feature is so intelligent that it's almost scary. Be sure to read the online user's manual to understand all of the features and uses.dominic71280
Amazing all the features this pedal has, first thing when you get one is download full manuel. The best place to learn about this pedal is youtube by the pedal guy, very informative videos, 4 he has out on this pedal! Can be complicated at first but not bad after i watched videos on it. Learned everything now and theirs not much it doesnt do, it doesnt seem to like more than 2 bars or so with metronome on ive noticed but a really good pedal to learn timing and have fun with!pazdra2008

Great pedal. I wasnt expecting it to be practically new. But much to my surprise it was!!! Awesome!!!48656161mv
You can get some nice reverb tones/effects out of this, however, it was not what I had expected. You can tweak your sound and some of the effects are quite unique in that they do not sound like any other pedal. That said, I have only used it so far with a bass since I don't have a guitar and I am sure you can get richer tones with a guitar, as the bass tends to muddy up some of the frequencies.desolationsong

Reviews:
I have tried the boss ME series which is similar, but the DigiTech had more variety of tone and I. My opinion easier to dial in and make changes to your tone. Using in in pedal board mode is the best. Bypassing the amp modeling. It has XLR inputs so I can plug in properly to the soundboard when playing live. This is the third time I have come back to this pedal after being curious about others. I'm never leaving again. 🙂hockeylife29
Excellent sounds, and typical easy to use Digitech layout. Manual could be clearer. In my opinion, it's not QUITE as good as my Boss GT-100, but damn near. DAMN near. Only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is, it's original list price was close to $300, and at that price it should have soft-touch switches instead of the older style "dimmer" switches, and an effects loop. It DOES have XLR outputs for going direct, and that is a very useful feature. I promise you it's a bargain at 150 bucks, so 100 bucks is a steal.thatsjeffy
I am the original owner of a DIGITECH RP5. It's got to be over 25 years old. It still works but needs some minor repair. When I saw the DIGITECH RP500 on sale at ProAudioStar for $99, I thought "What a deal!" This multi-FX board has quite a few upgrades since I first purchased my RP5, including Bal / Unbalanced stereo In & Outputs and a USB interface. Fully programmable, it includes many of the best stomp box presets available today – all wrapped up in one package. As a bonus, It also features a programmable Expression pedal for Volume, LFO and WAH control. Fairly easy to setup, I've already experimented with a couple of preset Mods and am quite satisfied with the tones I am able to produce. Five ***** stars for quality constuction, ease of use and sound reproduction. Now I only need to find a suitable soft case for traveling between gigs.bogusband

Great product. The range of options is mind boggling, but the unit is very easy to use. I have been having so much fun just checking out the various sounds, I've hardly actually used it for playing on. That will changes soon. It has all the features any guitarist will ever need, without having to lug around a rack of pedals.headrock413

With 100 pre-configured "factory" effects, and user-editable copies of each or them, you have a huge variety of sounds and uses. Even though I don't like some of the extreme distortion effects, some users may love them. For me, I just use the ones I like. I downloaded the full PDF manual from digitech's web site, and then made a copy of the page having the list of effects. I marked the ones I liked, and I keep it in my music folder with my chord sheets and lead sheets. I have about 25 favorites, and I can quickly switch between them with the pedal buttons.Jack Number 30
Versatile device. If you're new to the game this should take you through the intermediate level. Combine with a Looper, a function it does not have, and you're a Rock Star. An added useful function is, with headphones plugged in, you don't need a amplifier. It acts as, and can simulate, many classic amplifiers. Great if you're away from home and don't want to lug along your practice amp. Even has an "Acoustic Guitar Simulator". Suggest you check out the User's Manual on the Digitech website. Great device.Bruce S
This compared to a G1xon is absolutely miles AWAY. I have used the G1xon and the only thing that sucks on the it is the Pitch Shifting effect which why I bought this pedal in the first place. That is it. In comparison, The DEXP is simpler to edit because it has one parameter (ala-G1 or G1x) to alter while the G1xon has 3-7 more parameters. The G1xon has a decent looper, has a large screen and seems to not suck the tone but enhance it in a way I could not explain while DEXP has an unbearable tone suck to it (you will lose all your bottom end and some mid freq). Sound wise, the DEXP has some useable effects such as the Od, TS and DS, and the Jc, Rec sim but thats it. The Zoom can provide you with a myriad effects and parameters to play with. I just cannot believe that this product looks like a step down from Digitech. Again, I bought this just for the Whammy experience. Unless you are not keen to the Whammy effect then the G1xon can give you more than you bargained for.
