Always and excellent choice using these strings, we all know that! Very good price with the bulk offering….thank you very much! Unless you have 25 guitars they will last long enough. Be careful off the strings binding up a bit at first. Pull them very slowly and investigate if you feel resistance, don't pull harder becausse other strings will come out with the one your pulling. It's near impossible to get them back in and you have strings hanging out of the box for as long as the box lasts. As long as you are careful as described above you will not have any issues. This is definitely a great value, although I think the price of it has gone up since I bought one about 9 months ago.However there are some other things to consider; the box design is not the best way to keep the strings fresh and air tight. This has not been a problem for me or anything, but it is something to consider.Also, the wound strings are a PAIN to get out for the first 10 to 15 sets. They get caught on each other when you try and pull them out and I actually had to cut open the box and take the thing apart to get them out for the first 10-15 sets. (It folds back together just fine, but it's EXTREMELY inconvenient and kinda defeats the purpose of this product by having to do that)I'll continue playing D'Addario for sure, but I'm gonna be moving back to the 10-packs after I'm done with this box; it may not save quite as much money, however, it's a lot less of a hassle than this and the strings all stay vacuum sealed until you need them.SatchIsGod

My reason for purchase was to decrease some string noise from my guitar and not be as rough on the fingertips as other D'Addario strings. They are supposedly half-rounds, partially ground to a smoother finish but not slick like a flatwound string, but honestly, they only feel slightly different. They don't sound bad, and are fairly bright, maybe perhaps a just little darker than regular strings. I don't feel it's worth the price differential.

I bought these to see if they stood up to the abuse of the many many hours a week that I play guitar. They have proven to be a very good option and alternative to elixers. While I love elixers, all of these strings are coated as opposed to just the round wounds. As these are the strings that I most often destroy with my sweat I find these to be a great and cheaper option to the elixers. I've been using NYXLs for years, and they are the longest lasting strings I've ever used. Historically, I would change my strings after every other show because I would usually start breaking strings after 3 shows. With the NYXLs, I just keep playing them until they break because I can get often get 6 shows out of them! Sure, they may cost a tad more, but from my experience, they last twice as long.Tony
I'm trying these strings after years of using the standard D'Addario 11-49 set (EXL115). Only just fitted so it's really too early to review, however they do sound and feel great although not a lot different, which is fine, possibly very slightly stronger tension. The real test will be how well, over time, they stay in tune (which was my main reason for trying them), and whether they maintain their "new" sound for any longer than the standard set. Great that you can also buy singles, as I changed the 3rd plain for a wound NYNW020 which also sounds super.Colin
I do love nickel wound guitar strings that one of the best choices I made. It has some pros and cons, but the only negative thing it contains those strings are not long-living strings, soon they lose its colour and brightness of the sound. But not everything is so sad! They are soft and you don't cut your baby fingers if you're an amateur of playing on the guitar, they are very awesome of you like punk, or funk, or even jazz, they are good for any style of music. Those cool strings are very good for the strong semi-professional career and if you choose them you won't regret your decision.ALEX

I took a lot of years off and I had stock 10s on my G&Ls that was killing my hands so I played those for a while and endured my shortcomings as my hands were in training to regain the strength of my youth. Then made the switch to Ernie Ball Hybrid 0946s and that felt better but still felt like a battle when playing faster licks and solos. A friend suggested that I try the NYXL0942. Wow! I felt like I was in a time warp and back to my old self from years ago. These NYXLs have initially withstood my bending and time will tell to see if they are as tough as advertised. Also they feel like I am playing nylon strings so they are a lot more comfortable. Could be the lighter gauge but I think the string design also has something to do with that. The only thing I notice is that they do not ring out as loudly as my previous strings but it does not matter when you plug in. Really glad about these strings and will probably be putting these on all my guitars.MediumSexy
I love the sound of NYXL. They provide me with a pearl like sound that I can use for jazz as well as for heavier sounding music. The strings have qualities that last for a very long time. I usually change my strings every week. I left them for a month on my guitar just to see how they would sound. They sound fantastic… they would lose some freshness after about two weeks but they still hold a great deal of quality after two months playing. They also stay in tune after you pull your strings. Recently bought a Tele with an older set of D'Addario's on it. I'd never used them (been an Ernie Ball man since the 80's) and thought I'd give 3 identical sets (I use 9-46 EB's) a try on different guitars (Tele, Strat, LP). I have to admit that decades of EB use must taint my opinion, which is that the D'A's seem less lively sounding dynamically. They do feel more stable somehow when flat-picking… and I like that same sense of 'stability' when finger picking individual chord notes around the first 4 frets. Power chords have a better mid-range tonality perhaps. Glad I tried them, but it takes me months to come to any great conclusion…. will continue to be open minded (while I keep Ernie Ball's on my others).islandtomyself
These are on of the best sets of guitar strings you can buy these days. They are very bright sounding strings and also not squeaky sounding either because they are relatively smooth in comparison to others. I believe that they retain their new sound for longer as well. Only downside for me is that this multipack of strings are NOT individually wrapped in their own packaging so each string has to be separated from the other 5 in the pack when fitting them to your guitar. I was surprised to fine this heavy of a guage of strings. I didn't know they existed. The thing about heavy strings is that you have much more ability to play with dynamic resonance – something you can't really get with light guage strings. With these strings, you can play as softly as you wish but when you really want it to "come out" they don't disappoint. I also only play with the fleshy tip of my fingers which melds into the subtle nuances of chord and solo performance.garycgrieve
The package is for C standard, not Drop C as some people mistakenly think…well, I guess you could use them for Drop C if you like veeeery stiff strings. If you want strings for Drop C, I'd suggest a skinny top/heavy bottom set of strings with an 11 up top and a 54 or so on the bottom so the bottom E tuned to C doesn't get floppy and knocked out of tune easily. Anyway, I've been using these for a long time on my USA core line PRS Custom 24 in C standard. They seem fine for going down a half step to B standard and feel fine even up half a step to C# standard. That's as high as I'd tune these strings up, though. I couldn't recommend these strings more!Josh
I have these strings on my schecter c-1 SLS blackjack tuned all the way down to drop A#, and let me tell you, despite being labeled as optimized for drop C, I don't recommend them for that tuning. 11-52s, 12-54s and 11-56s are better for Drop C, but for Drop B and Drop A#, you will not find a better gauge than these on a 25.5 scale length guitar or a 26.5 baritone. The tension is absolutely perfect! It feels like a 10-52 set in E standard with the E string tuned to D! Like with all D'addarios, they are bright, long lasting, they feel smooth and they absolutely love locking tremolos. I can yank my floyd rose all I want and it still will not go out of tune. Since D'addarios are bright as I stated before, they also remain clear under high gain, which I use my marshall JVM on the red channel with a maxon OD as a boost and a peavey 5150. Between the tuning stability, the tension, the reliability, the playability and the string life, you cannot go wrong with these for baritone tunings!Daniel

I have used D'addario strings since 1984 and they are great, I use them on all my guitars. 9's on Stratocasters and 10's on Gretsch guitars. Reasons to use them: They last a long time, Are lower string tension than Fender ones Give a great sound Stay fresh longer I've tried many string brands and only Ernie Ball is an alternative to these. I've never had any issues except one string broke off whilst tuning up which was a manufacturing fault in the string but in 30 years plus that isn't a bad record. These strings come Unwound from the bead once installed on your guitar. I've never had any other type of string do this to me before. Here's the scenario: my first string starts to detune gradually as if my tuning machine is loose… a slight mystery at first, then it won't hold a note, and comes unwound from itself at the bridge. Three times this has happened to me 9n two separate guitars. I will never use these strings on a guitar again. Failure of the worst kind.Ben

So these might look like a typical set of 9s (or super lights, or extra lights everyone seems to call em something different ), but trust me, they re not. the standard for 9s is typically 9-11-16-24-32-42, and while the gauges on the bottom end are solid, the top is all kinds of messed up. why some other companies make them that way, i honestly couldn t tell you but never fear! stringjoy fixed all that for you. see, the issue on most sets is that the .011 has far too little tension to balance with the .009 and the .016 has far too much tension. so, with their balanced 9s they fixed all that by using a .012 and a .015 instead. the result is a set of strings that plays evenly across the entire fretboard and intonates better when set up properly. if you re typically a 9s player, these are definitely the way to go.

I have been using Stingjoy string on my 3 Ibanez electric guitars and a 5 string Fender Jazz bass bass for a couple years now. I really cannot comment on the bass strings- I just do not change them often enough. The electric guitars on the other hand I change quite frequently. I have found that the Strinjoy strings make more and a broader sound 'acoustically'- that is with the guitar unplugged, and as I use low to medium output PUPS that 'acoustic' sound translates when plugged in. Over the years I have managed to get a handle on Floyd Rose double locking systems which can offer really solid tuning stability once you do learn how to manage them. With the Stringjoy strings the tuning stability on my FR guitars went from very good to ridiculously solid. Once the a new set of strings are settled in, If I stick to whole tone bends or < and nothing environmental intervenes, I can play 6 plus hours a day and be not need to tune, or if I do it is just to sharpen the high E and perhaps B string occasionally. The tuning stability coupled with the great sound and extended time the strings sound good has made Stringjoy strings my electric guitar strings of choice.Shaun F
This FiveStar review is really more of a projected rating. At the time I ordered the super balanced set, I also ordered a set of Broadways. They are beautiful strings – amazing tone and vibracy. Plus they’ve lasted 3 months- a LONG for all the bending I do. This may be partly because I also decided to use the StringJoy string conditioner, a product Ive always stayed away from. Stringjoys formula is awesome and most importantly safe for the guitar wood and finish (I ran a test on a couple beaters). A colleague of mine turned me on to these, and in particular to this strange gauge of 9.5 – 44. I had struggled in the past with standard 9s on a guitar with high output pickups and a warble-happy whammy bar. I find these strings to handle really nicely, a perfect amount of slick and grip (finger contact) and they positively scream in my current configuration. I've put them on a guitar that I don't play live often, and I find that the strings don't deteriorate over time with the guitar being left in the case. This is very subjective and a question of personal chemistry. I mean, I've seen players go through a pack of the best "long-lasting" string on the market in one night, so it'll always come down to which material lends itself to your handling. Despite the price tag, I am not sorry that I've purchased those, and I just picked up a few more packs to tide me over the months of session work.Boyan P.
I have been using these strings for about a year now, when I had to drop down to 8 gauge strings due to carpal tunnel in my left hand. I wanted to go with a higher quality string since I would be using such a light gauge. The NYXL series does not disappoint. They are extremely flexible, stay in tune, last a really long time and they sound incredible. I had concerns that I would be sacrificing tone, but this has not been the case. This is the first time I tried these D'Addario NYXL strings. I got the nickel wound electric strings, regular light. I think these strings are one of the best I've used. I started playing guitar when I was very young so I've been playing for a lot of years. These nickel wound electric guitar strings are easy to play. The strings are nice on the fingers. Some strings make my finger tips get tuff, but tuff to the point that it affects the preasure I use on the strings. These nickel wound strings don't do that. I have had them on for some time now and none of them broke. I like the tone of the strings. It made tuning the guitar very easy after I strung it. There is something to say about having strings that are easy to string, tune, and have a great tone. If you are playing out some where and a string breaks you need to work kind of fast to get up and playing again. These strings do the trick.penny

This is a nice package set of guitar strings. You get ten sets in one box. that makes it so nice to not have to keep buying them so often. I really like how they packaged these guitar strings. the outer box is smaller than you would think for ten sets of guitar strings. But instead of having each set of guitar strings in another box individually, they have each set of guitar strings in its own bag, that is sealed. Made it easier to find a place to store the extra guitar strings for when I need them next. Was easier to stow an extra set in my guitar case since it was not in a stiff box, but in a sealed bag instead. I like how the guitar strings are color coded on the package and the string. It made restringing so much easier to do. Just had to look to f the color string end for the specific string I was doing. Makes it easier for novice guitar stringers. Not having to guess is nice. These D'Addario EXL110-3D strings are great! They are bit heavier than the 'slinkys' that my son usually uses, but he really likes these too. They go on easy, and seem strong. They sound amazing! My son has 1 of the 3 sets on his strat, I have one set on my vintage 80's Ibanez, and the third set is a spare in case we break any strings. They give a rich on the lows and bright on the highs tone. They feel good on the fingers, and have the right amount of give. The intonation is excellent and these, apparently D'Addario's best selling strings, will possibly last a long time. I read that the core of these strings is hexagonal in shape, which helps the way the wrap sounds, feels and behaves. These strings have a really nice sustain too, and seem to stay in tune better than other brands we've used. I think these would make a great gift, as they come in a set of 3, but also these are good to stock up on for yourself. We'll definitely be getting more!Kedst123
Bought a 10 pack in 1992. Still have a couple sets left. My main Warmoth partscaster wears the strings out in about 5 years. You read that correctly, i leave those strings on until the winding on the D string wears off. Not that they break. I gig regularly and I use stainless steel frets on my partscasters. These are for you if you tune lower than D or even C, their loud , their built to last , their cheap and yet at the same time the new string sound doesn't go away. D'Addario have been around this long for a reason. If you're new to 12-52 strings these are a great first set. Well first lets focus on the gauge as it is features, the thicker the string the longer it stays in tune and the louder and stronger the strings are. If you want to tune below D these are for you, you can get all the way down to open B or lower depending on your style. Not a huge jump from regular strings either so you won't have any problems adapting to them. Well the new string sound stays longer than most brands I've tried compared to my local guitar shops or fender super bullets which are hands down the worst brand. Plus they can really take the abuse of detuned black metal without any concern that they'll break, you can play these for an extended period of time until they rust and they'll still stay in tune. Only a few brands I keep coming back to as my store sells everything , these I can buy without any kind of hesistation because their cheap but yet have this awesome new string sound, that and like I said before their built to last.Jason Tallwood
I broke down and tuned to down a half step with these. I hear a massive difference with these, and for good reason. More mass, more power, more sustain. More Steel. These are more work to play on, no doubt. Harder to bend for sure. I imagine if you play on these for a week you'll have massive strength if you go back to a lighter gague. I dig em'. Looking for a pair of strings for youre heavy work with a bright nickel-wound sound? Youre search is over! These strings come with the standard Daddario quality so you know youre good. Daddario strins have never failed on me, I have to replace them because of the dirt after a couple weeks rather than because the strings break. This gauge is also appropriate for lower drop tunings. Absolutely great for Drop C tuning, but youll manage to get a good sound out of it even in drop B.
