I have used two gallons and probably will avoid using it. Positive was working time was longer. Negatives were the failure of the glued joints on several different projects. The day after I glued some restaurant tables up the walnut joints came apart while making passes through my large Woodmaster drum sander. Same gluing procedure for Titebond II that was fine. ?Charles
My friends and I are doing several large outdoor woodworking projects so needed good waterproof glue, and a lot of it. Out of my normal hardware stores, Rockler was the only place that had Titebond III in the gallon container. Buying by the gallon saves over half compared to buying the smaller containers. We tested the waterproofness of Titebond III in side by side comparisons with Titebond I by poring a little in some open containers then adding water to see how if they would mix, and then by gluing up some wood scrapes and letting them soak in water. In both cases the Titebond III held up to the water flawlessly. After a month Titebond III is holding the outdoor projects together with no sign of weakness or problems. The only issue was when the dog somehow got some glue on his rear end fur and we had to explain it to my wife. The glue held up well to the hot water, soap and scrubbing in the dog bath. We did not try paint thinner or any other chemicals. The dog did not care but the wife did so I had to endure some good natured ribbing until it wore off after a month or so.Steve

I was happy with Titebond I & II. Both are great products. My daughter wanted me to make some butcher block counter tops for her kitchen and bathroom. The wood pieces are 3/4" X 1 3/4" nice thick counter tops. I figured I better use the Titebond III. It is for exterior and is water proof. I was very happy with the spread ability and the amount of open time I had. I used the Rockler roller glue bottle and it went smooth and fast. I wiped all the surfaces with acetone before I glued. It was a lot of exotic wood. Black palm, Zebra, Purple heart, walnut, Maple, Oak and Cherry. The tops are beautiful. She loves them. LCLC
Obviously there are much cheeper items on the market but this is a "specific". I purchased this to repair my expensive end grain chopping board onto which I had put a leaking hot water heater, I didn't know it was going to leak I hasten to add !! Anyway I needed this type of glue to repair the cracks that had appeared as it is graded as "food safe" Board dried, cracks cleaned out and glue carefully inserted into the cracks, clamps tightened and left for 48 hours (my choice). It does not dry clear, and excessive glue has to be removed with a damp rag before setting. As a woodturner I have used Titebond medium, thin and thick CA glue for a number of years to fill cracks that show up in bowl blanks as the wood is turned away. It's not a perfect solution but it's as good as anything else I have tried and a lot quicker. I have also used the thin version to put a hard finish on bottle stoppers, pizza cutters and ice cream scoops. Titebond II Premium cream wood glue 8oz. bottle was easy to work with and gave me all the work time I needed with my project. I had a pine panel door to the family room that had dried out and the panels shifted and it was hard to shut the door. I spread the panels a bit and the joints on the top of the door and used Titebond II and then clamped them for 24 hours. The glue was amazing and the door now shuts and locks like a new door. TB-2 is stronger than TB-1, which smells and looks like Elmer's. But there are times when you may want to avoid it because of its short setup time. TB-3, which is marketed as "ultimate" has a longer setup time, but TB-3 has failed me many times. When assembling multiple pieces, TB also has a Hide Glue which has the longest setup time and drying time of a couple of days. If assembling multiple pieces that all have to fit into each other and when you need the ability to reposition those pieces, TB-2 is not the glue you will want to use. As for TB-3, I had 12 spokes fitting in a "Tinker Toy"-like wheel hub (for a colonial spinning wheel) and after several weeks, I could still wiggle 11 of those spokes out of the hub (only one broke), because the TB-3 glue didn't hold them in very well.Eli
Having watched many YouTube videos where this wood glue has been used, I decided to pay the extra and order 16 to.oz to try it, and frankly I don’t see myself ever using anything else! Why did I always use Bog Standard PVA and never try this stuff. Probably the fact that as a plumber and heating engineer, I didn't need it. Anyway now I have time to work with wood for pleasure I thought I might like a stronger wood glue and I definitely needed more strength. Wow this stuff is seriously sticky on sticks. I accidentally left a tiny bead along side a frame, no more than 2mm and only short patches, I laid the next chunk of 50 x 50 next to the frame and went to lunch. When I returned I had to use a chisel to lift the 50 x 50 off the board and when I looked I found that tiny strip of now dried glue: PVA never did that. The entire project was glued with Titebond and everything is solid, it is amazing.Pedantick

This Gorilla – Gorilla Wood Glue, 36 oz is my favorite wood glue. It goes on and spreads easily. There is enough time to carefully place the pieces being glued and put clamps in place. As the glue begins to dry drips and extra glue can be removed with a putty knife or just rubbed off with hands. This glue can also be washed off with water before it is completely dry. Our annual Church Christmas toy project is an assembly line concept to complete forty units to be shared with deserving community children. The (440) detail pieces, (eleven per toy), were completed during the first four months of the covid19 pandemic. The first stage of the assembly process is done in one of two assembly fixtures for the purpose. It takes approximately ninety seconds to complete the assembly using the Titebond Speed Set Wood Glue and two 24" clamps. (Normally we would use a pin gun to hold the details in place, while the glue is setting up. When assembling the prototype we found that shooting a pin through a 3/4" piece into a 1/8" wide target resulted in a number of misses and required rework in the pinned area.) We asided the clamped assembly for the recommended 15 minutes of clamping time but found that 10 minutes was sufficient. This proved to be perfect for our purpose and the glue worked as advertised.Thomas

Bought this as I have seen positive online reviews and I really rate it. Far better and easier to use than PVA, particularly in the cold. Less mess and risk of spoiling work than with polyurethane glue, and it dries just as quick. The joints I have used it on so far are strong, clean and fast drying. I have used two gallons and probably will avoid using it. Positive was working time was longer. Negatives were the failure of the glued joints on several different projects. The day after I glued some restaurant tables up the walnut joints came apart while making passes through my large Woodmaster drum sander. Same gluing procedure for Titebond II that was fine. ?Charles
My friends and I are doing several large outdoor woodworking projects so needed good waterproof glue, and a lot of it. Out of my normal hardware stores, Rockler was the only place that had Titebond III in the gallon container. Buying by the gallon saves over half compared to buying the smaller containers. We tested the waterproofness of Titebond III in side by side comparisons with Titebond I by poring a little in some open containers then adding water to see how if they would mix, and then by gluing up some wood scrapes and letting them soak in water. In both cases the Titebond III held up to the water flawlessly. After a month Titebond III is holding the outdoor projects together with no sign of weakness or problems. The only issue was when the dog somehow got some glue on his rear end fur and we had to explain it to my wife. The glue held up well to the hot water, soap and scrubbing in the dog bath. We did not try paint thinner or any other chemicals. The dog did not care but the wife did so I had to endure some good natured ribbing until it wore off after a month or so.Steve

The Titebond Translucent wood glue worked perfect for me. It did not leave any stains on the light colored wood even though it would squeeze out when clamped. The other darker wood glues do the same thing but even though I'd wipe the "Squeeze Out" off sometimes there is enough to leave a dark or noticeable stain or mark. It's not for use on wood to be used outdoors but I am not doing that type of woodwork.Charles
My Grandfather's 1900 Violin had been neglected and improperly stored for about 50 years. The fingerboard had deep groves from excessive playing and the whole bottom of the violin had come apart, and even wooden parts from inside came off. I ordered the Tightbond Hide Glue #5012 because restoration articles suggested it as a glue that should be used for musical instruments and at a later time, if necessary, you could heat the parts glued and safely remove them without cracking or damaging the wood, such as a fretboard, bridge or nut. I was amazed how easily I could work with the glue. A little goes a long way on a Violin. I glued and clamped the entire bottom and associated parts. 24 hours later, I removed the clamps and it looked like new. Then I removed the fretboard and replaced it with a new one, clamping it again for 24 hours with success. I had gotten some glue on my hands and some had gotten on the edge of the Violin while I was working on it, but as soon as I installed the clamps, I was able to wipe off the excess glue with a dampened rag and it also came off my hands easily with soap and water. This is the best glue that I have ever used. I am extremely happy with the results. Not being a professional at restoring musical instruments, I was surprised how easily it was able to make the repairs.ozkey70ybi

While it's a really good glue for bonding wood, it is NOT water proof, as I found out to my horror when used to join kitchen worktops near a sink. When damp or wet, it goes a milky colour and will easily wipe away. Useless in high moisture areas. The phrase "water resistant" is very misleading, and should really be removed by the manufacturer.CrypticS
