Best Mics For Recording Electric Guitar (2024 Update)

This microphone is one of the best suited for handling guitar amps and other louder close mic applications, especially where a low profile is advantageous, such as on stage or in a cramped studio setting. The mike can be hung/slung over a speaker cabinet or mounted on small footprint stand and placed directly in front of speaker cone/grill. The flat design allows for setup in extremely tight spaces. The frequency response of 40-18k works well on most amplified instruments. It is designed optimally to handle high sound pressure levels (loud) without pads. Response is fairly flat and even across the entire range. It is also super-cardroid pattern meaning crosstalk can be kept to a minimum, important when mic'ing multiple cabs. I found these to be superior to the standard sm-57 type mics for guitar cabinet pickup, more bottom end, crisper high end and very low profile. They are also fairly durable. Works great as a guitar-amp mic. You can hang it over the top of the amp, or use something like the K&M 25950 (or 25900) stands. I'm not enamored with Sennheiser's mic clips, but they function; I'd be concerned about repeatedly attaching/removing mics from those clips. That could be unwarranted, but time will tell. I personally use mine with a boom arm, the a81ws, focusrite. No issues with it and i had it for about 3 months, I'm not the gentlest on it either so I feel comfortable using it on a day to day basis. Overall: Seeing the pictures online made me think one thing. But then seeing in my hand made me think another. This is a rather small microphone in comparison to what I've used in the past. Transitioning from a monsterous Sterling Audio ST-79 to the TLM-102 made a HUGE difference. The depth of the vocal is outstanding. The frequency range is great and the Higher SPL makes it able to withstand some of the loudmouth vocalist rappers it will be used on. I myself have a deeper raspier voice and this mic works wonders on the clarity of it. In the mix there is much more control on dialing in to get the sound you want. This little Big Dog is now my Go to mic for Vocals out of my collection which includes: a. (1) ST-79 -Sterling Audio – Condenser b. (1) ST-55 – Sterling Audio – Condenser c. (1) MXL 990 and (1) 991 – MXL – Condensers d. (2) Fathead I – Cascade – Ribbon e. (1) TLM-102 – Neumann – Condenser (these are just my Vocal specific mics) All in all I love the mic and the mixing flexablity, its smaller size, and its versatility in use. Sure there is not a bass roll-off, or pad switch so it may not be best for SOME RANDOM VERY SPECIFIC NEED. But for the typical use of a microphone this thing has become my best friend.Chris

I play acoustic fingerstyle guitar and I was looking at some mics options to do some recordings… this mic is absolutely brilliant ! It captures amazingly the sounds of an acoustic guitar, very detailed and all nuances can be heard. Very rich and natural sound and exactly what I was looking for acoustic guitar recordings. Overall: I just bought Neumann TLM 102 for a few sessions on my vocals and nylon & acoustic guitar. I do noticed, TLM 102 does have a little more presence and somewhat compressed on the bass. If you want to tame the bass, then you'll be happy with TLM 102 (note: There’s no cut low/high filter switch). If you're asking a flat sound, it's not here. Presence is strong? "yes." A lot more than mine Oktava MK 319. Treble? a little less than mine. If you want a little more treble for your vocals, you might want TLM 103. But remember, 103 is two times for you to pay. Do you want something "warm'ish" in your vocals? It's all right. It's not the best for a warm warm sound. BUT it is good though. You may have to turn up the mid a little more when you mixed. On my vocals and nylon & acoustic, I had to decrease -10 db on the bass. After my recording and testing, I decided to return mine TLM 102. For me, It's just not worth it –especially it’s 8x than my MK319. I really expected a lot more, but I know there are a lot of people that they love it. They say, they would pay 10 times. For the rest of my sessions, I went back to my MK 319. RECOMMENDATION?? Well, if you have a budget….sure. It would be nice recording a few acoustic rhythms. But, I know there are few more mics that are a lot cheaper than TLM 102 with the same quality sound.Xylor

I have the AKG 414 xls. use it in my home studio ,and bring it to other studios. we have done many shoot outs against everything you could imagine either vintage or recent, even those costing ten time more, and the 414 constantly is the last choice.ruhtra

I prefer this over the XLII, Modern Sounding and great detail. Pair with a good mic pre and you will not be disappointed. But this is not a vintage voiced mic. I use on everything with 1290 Neve, 610, and stock ensamble pres.david001002

Nah, that's probably a bit of false bravado– also not alot of Irish traditions in my family, and to say that my admiration for this mic will extend to my dying day, that I will breathe my last breath holding onto it and capturing some musical performance– a nice picture, but how realistic, really? I guess I just metaphorically, in a Clint Eastwood kinda way, want to impress on you that, if we were all cowboys, this mic would be the six-shooter that everyone longed to have– lawman, outlaw, everyone in between. There's a reason it's a standard of the industry and you've heard its coolly accurate wondrous alive-sounding exceptional capture on a gabazillion records. It gets and gives you what's really there. The self noise is so low, 6 decibels, that there is no self noise. Everything comes through crisply and clearly. I will confess to you– I've cobbled together a subsistence farming kind of audio life, recording singers and ensembles, and I've always made do with gear that checked in much lower on the food chain than this. So when the house tech at a classical quartet concert had a pair of these and set them up just basically at the front edge of the stage, and offered to feed them into my tape deck, I swooned. Back in the studio mixing that performance, the 414's were smooth and airy and cast a lovely perspective on the players. Okay, that's it, I am getting myself a pair! What did I hear when I set up a pair of these for the first time in front of a guitar player? Within the ringing density of the guitar sound, a whole rainbow of colors, a detailed picture down to the granular level. The dual capsule will give you any and every polar pattern, from omni to hypercardioid, with halfway settings in between each setting! Also, four versions of low-cut roll-off, and also three levels of volume pads. A finely crafted German-engineered shockmount, and double sided (the best kind!) pop filter to affix to a mic stand. And a windsock. There are going with me everywhere from now on. Although– this overblown elaborate packaging with all this cut-out foam– no, give me all-put-together-and-ready-to-go in the smallest space, please. I bought to of these to run as a stereo pair for guitar amplifiers in a live environment. They are terrific! They handle whatever two 100 watt amps can throw at them and do not color the sound in any sort of negative manner. They definitely let the amps tone shine right through. I went from two classic Sm57s to these and I just notice more clarity and detail than I did with the 57s. Mic placement is a breeze. I spent all of 5 minutes with a pre-recorded loop figuring out the most natural sound and its very easy to find the large sweetspot with these mics. Again, the 57 does not have a huge sweet spot.Blakemore

These mics came highly recommended by another sound engineer I know and, having owned the lesser e609 mics, I decided to take the plunge when I found these at a fantastic price. Pros: Excellent sound quality. Have used it in front of a few different types of bands guitar amps and found it did a fine job whether they played the blues or rock. The filter suggestions in the manual worked and I look forward to trying it with a heavier band to see how it does. Cons: None so far, but if the quality of the 609's that I own, one for over 20 years, is any indication, then this mic will provide years of quality sound reproduction. I have a Demeter Silent Speaker Iso Box that I have been using a 57 and a 58 in with semi-satisfying results. I built a second box to put the Demeter in to even further cut down on the sound levels in my studio. I have taken the door off of the Demeter to let it breath and it takes away all the boxiness of the sound. The only thing missing was this mic! It sounds so much better I can't even believe it! It's so much more balanced and it has smoothed out the mids that have a tendency to build up in a small space like this. Blending the 58 in brings back a little of the "mid scoop" present in the 906. The super cardioid polar pattern of this mic is perfect for this application. From clean to crunch to distortion, my iso rig now sounds like a mic'd up cab in a dead room. All of my stomp boxes and guitars are now in play as they sound like real guitars and not mid range and nasally toys. I am blown away! Buy this mic and follow this recipe if you want an iso box to sound like an isolation room. I'm sure it sounds great in a room as well but the iso box is a more critical situation that only this mic works in. Buy it!radguitars

This R-121 is incredibly versatile for a ribbon microphone – I never fear putting it in front of guitar cabs, raucous horn players, even drums. Great mic. works magic on guitars. however you do need a good mic and pre and a decent compressor to place in front of mic! The web says this mic is noisy. I haven't found this to be the case as I run it into my Xenyx 302 mixer. It isn't the lightweight, ultra-portable podcast mic (like my Tonor BM-800) – but then it doesn't weigh like an elephant either! The pickup pattern is nice too. It's not as full as my sm58 but for half the price, it's worth getting a few more. I use it for live streaming and karaoke. All 3 works great. You might need to get the pop shield to prevent the extra pops from some singers though. My friends are loving my set up with these and they're asking to get them set up with these mics as well. I bought three for my rehearsal studio for Vocals. My opinion is for the price they can't be beat. Yes a 58 sounds a bit better with a little more mid range punch and a little smoother quality sound. But the deal I got for three brand new ones was excellent and can't beat the value. One of the gigs my band plays regularly the soundman absolutely loves my Mike's. I personally use a 58 and our lead singer uses a sure wireless mic but the other three guys are on my 48's and the sound man compliments them every time!!Dev the drummer

I read the reviews and recommendations on the legendary Sure SM58, but didn't really need to buy another mic. I have an AKG, an MXL and a Samson at home, and I work with the Sennheiser 421, EV RE-20 and Heil mics at work. But I saw the B & H price on this, and decided to give it a whirl. WOW.. seriously? Less than $35 for a mic of this quality? Unbelievably good deal! This little Sure SM48 sounds so good, crisp, clean.. blows the Heil and the EV RE-20 out of the water, even sounds better than the Sennheiser! I do a slight EQ contour to shift the bass energy a little lower, with a -1.5db dip @ 378Hz, and a 2db bump around 90 Hz, a little bump at 900 for presence.. and this sounds perfect every time! I don't have to wrestle with that bass tip-up that you always get with the condensers like the AKG and the MXL. For pure voice stuff, this one is a gem. I'll grab it first now before messing with the other mics.. this is a more direct line to getting a great result without the intermediate adjustment stops the other mics need. The RE-20 is retired now. I won't even use it with the SM48 to choose from. I use this for VO work, mostly with commercial spots at a major market radio station. Totally recommend this mic. Strange is my description for this little microphone because I don't know of another like it! It is a small diaphragm mike, despite being side-address. Actually, a very small electric element, not that there's anything wrong with that. Some of the most accurate (and expensive) mikes out there have the same setup. I bought a pair of these C3s as spot mikes in live recording (choirs and such) and the multi-pattern feature is a definite plus for this. I know of no other microphone — at least at this price range — with the same feature set. It's also handy as a studio mike on acoustic instruments. The figure-8 setting is excellent in that role, surprisingly flat response with good side rejection.Quibbles: a tad noisy, but that's to be expected with the very small diaphragm. It's a trade-off. The fitting are mostly plastic and could degrade over time. No problems so far though, I would point out. There is a foam wind screen inside the mesh head-basket that will also degrade eventually and it's not so easy getting it out. I opened up the mike and removed it right away (there goes the warranty!) which improved the sound a bit too.Steve B-fDH9F

Looking for a really low cost, low end studio mike, this is it, but with limitations. You can't beat the features. Comes with 10db attenuation switch, hi pass switch, plus multi pattern for around $100. Got mine new for $65. The bad: frequency response is around 70-17000 so you don't have the highs. You can hear the difference compared to low end audio technica At2020. This mike would be good for broadcasting, announcing, & other non vocal applications or mid range instrument recording such as guitar, snare drums.radio10

I needed a microphone for a conference that would plug into my laptop, but did not want one solely for that purpose, so a USB mic was not my preference. Musician's Friend steered me to this Behringer mic. The price was right–especially for a condenser mic–and with the appropriate (Behringer) interface, it was plug-and-play into the laptop. But once I started using it, I found that it was much more versatile than that. It has great sound reproduction, and I really like that it has three fields: omni-, cardiod, and figure eight. I was able to pick up speakers from over fifteen feet away, and the quality was much better than boundary mics I have used. I've been looking at these for years. I have a lot of mics, you may say I'm a collector of sorts. Many mics I have were purchased not working and I was able to fix most of them. I have known about the RE20 and it's rich heritage and sound. I broke down and bought it and have not regretted it. It sounds great recording kick drum, bass guitar, and many voices. It gives a very nice smooth "chesty" quality to a male voice, particularly baritones. There is virtually no proximity effect like many of my other mics. I should've bought one a long time ago.ampfxr

It took me a few tries to find my personal sweet spot, but it's a great plug-and-play mic.The RE-20 is a very transparent mic, I use it with a Cloudlifter and it gives me condenser sensitivity with great protection from errants pops and ambient noise.Seems very well made, if not particularly nice-looking. I'd be worried if the internal foam popscreen got wet+moldy…I have an acoustically poor recording space, this mic allows me to record pretty much anything, while keeping ambient noise out of my track. The Re20 is an industry standard for broadcast mics. It’s price is a bit high, but if you are looking for the best you have to pay for the best. It was a close decision between the SM7b and this mic, but matching the sound of the other mics at my radio station was a must and the SM7b was just a little too “warm” a mic for me. It didn’t hurt any that the Re 20 was on sale other. If you are looking for a great quality mic for home studios or broadcast this is definitely the mic for you.Doug

It has a reputation, because it is that good. Takes any vocal and places it at a higher level. Clarity, warmth, presence, yep. If you could only buy 1 piece of gear and youre doing vocals, forget everything else and get this microphone. Run through any interface with a daw, and youll see the difference. An ultimate aspirational mic for me. I have compared this with a vintage u87. For vocals, the vintage U 87 has a slightly more noticeable presence. By presence, I mean that you feel like the microphone is a noctilux-level macro lens focusing in on the singer's articulation and bringing them up close to your ear. All that, but it doesn't sound like it's trying. The new U 87 Ai is almost the same as the old U 87, but a bit more neutral. Less emphasis of sounds like ch (as in, chess), and the specs say less noise. That's my two cents, at least! The U 87 Ai is an amazing sounding mic and lives up to its name. I'd agree with so many reviewers who say that it's just plain good on anything.Peter

I own a lot of microphones for an individual (not a studio), from SM57-58 types, up to the AKG 414 XLII and a bunch in between. As I prepared to move to a greater focus on writing and recording, I decided it was time to purchase a couple of microphones that were the type I have used in a professional recording studio. The first of those that came to mind was the Neumann U87. It was one of two mics (the other being the AKG 414, mentioned above) that I have seen in literally every professional studio I have ever walked into. To say it is a recording industry standard is quite the understatement. Let's talk cost: yes, it costs more than many others. In the world of professional microphones, it's actually on the cheaper end of the spectrum when compared with tube microphones, and it costs many times less than vintage originals. But is it expensive? NO, IT IS NOT. Expensive is a relative term, and refers to the amount of money an item costs… relative to what it is. When what it is happens to be one of the most meticulously built, most heavily copied, and highest performing microphones out there (that is in the estimation of the top-tier professionals in the business, not Joe Equipment-reviewer on your local forum) , the cost is reasonable, and as mentioned, low in comparison to others in its peer group. And how does it sound? Clear and honest. If you sound bad or ameteurish, you will get a very clear rendition of a bad and ametuerish sound. Don't blame the mic. If you put great sound into it, you get incredibly great sound out, and you can hear every nuance. In testing at home, it was sometimes shocking how much more revealing the U87 was. I can only compare it to my experience with any other top of the line equipment. It just keeps surprising you with "oh yeah" moments. Ultimately, nothing is for everyone. And if you don't have the ears to hear the difference, don't waste your money. But if you're up to it, I promise you this mic is up to it as well.Rick In TX

Im thrilled with k2 so far. It picks up an amazing amount of room noise for my less than Ideal home studio, even in a cardiod pattern but that was expected. I use the API Unison channel strip with an Apollo Twin and an Octo Satellite rig. I simply engage the extremely effective gate in the API plugin and good bye fan, neighbors pounding, cat meowing etc. I also only used the k2 on an extremely quiet, intimate male voice and the k2 has provided a silky yet detailed result, this is also after maxing out the gain on the API for some lovely crunch. The signal then gets smoothed out and lightly saturated again with some even harmonic tube action from the Summit Audio – TLA UAD plug. Overall, Im very please with the contrast and depth created with that setup and it of course starts with the k2.eraxe-42

Sound: The sound is harmonic and beautifully colored with enough tube to be authentic and enough smoothness to be versatile. I am a tube roller but found the stock tube to deliver excellent results. The K2 has a beautiful color any artists would be proud to wield. Features: The variable pickup pattern on the power supply is gold. Now, I can sit in my control room and try different patterns without much fuss. The case, shock mount, and cables are high quality Ease of Use: Honestly, this is incredibly easy to use. The hardest part is making it sound bad. Quality: The fit and finish is professional and feels hefty in the hand. The case, shock mount, and cables are high quality Value: Well worth the price of entry. I won;t say if it is worth more that expensive mics. That is a strange way to look at gear. This is a great mic, well valued, works on a bunch of things really well and offers a nice vibe and color at any price. I've been shifting away from electronic music and working on more indie/shoegazey material as of late, and I've been fighting my vocal takes tooth and nail. I've been using a Neumann tlm-103 and have also tried an AT-4040 and the results have been less than spectacular. The 103 has been coming off as too up-front and lacks dynamics, and the at-4040 has been giving me a lot of midrange discoloration. The major x-factor in my process is the room I record in, where I have some padding put up to flatten things, but could be much better insulated. Basically, I'm saying that results could vary for you. I got the K2 home today and did back-to-back-to-back recordings with the 3 mics for comparison. I got the usual results with the 103 and 4040, but I must say that the K2 has completely decimated the other mics in all of my testing so far. Where the 103 is very in-your-face and the 4040's been real heavy in the middle, the K2 has a steady and balanced character. In cardoid mode you can hear the higher range boost, but it's been complimentary on both my vocals and acoustic guitar work I've recorded tonight. The end result has been a bright and vibrant product where all of the frequencies come through nice. I also like the fact that everything I've recorded tonight has been sitting well in my mixes with little work done. Normally with the 103 I'd have to pull out some bass and spike the high end a bit, but this hasn't been the case at all with the K2. In Omni mode very little changes, you can hear the brightness fall off like the frequency response chart indicates, but it's not drastic or detrimental. Omni mode really exposed my room for its bad acoustics during some scratch vocal takes, but an acoustic guitar take recorded in Omni felt like I had reverb on it with a small room setting, and none-the-less came out really clean. Rode has been getting really high marks lately for putting out mics that exceed their price tag in terms of quality. And I must say, I've worked with many different mics aside from the ones I own and the K2 stands toe to toe with the best ones I've worked with. A review I'd read of this mic had the author guessing it'd be selling for $2000, and I'd agree with that assessment. For its price, you're paying substantially less than what the mic could reasonably sell for, and IMO it's a must-have, especially if you're limited on funds and need something that will perform strong and be versatile.Paul J

This microphone looks nice and also sounds nice. However, I have purchased this microphone for the second time now and for the second time it has stopped working without reason. It is not due to any pc port, audio driver, or cable problem. All of these things are working just fine after checking. Supposedly this microphone has an issue with it's firmware that causes this problem for me and many other people. I think this microphone is way too expensive for it to just give out unannounced like that. While it may look and sound nice, I can't see myself recommending this microphone to others due to how faulty it is. I'd spend my money elsewhere.Kayla

I have been using a Samson Meteor Microphone up until this purchase, so, yes this is quite the upgrade – even though in the right hands even the Samson Meteor can sound great. However, I am not a microphone expert; I am of above average microphone knowledge but not by much. Right off the bat I notice that the setup's ability to transfer from the included stationary stand to my boom swing-arm AND have the ability to change adapters which is incredibly convenient. Keep in mind, this is all without having to remove the shock mount that the quadcast comes with either. The microphone works well in any orientation whether in vertical or inversed position, to even sideways or offset. The microphone is painless to setup and easy to use, having a gain knob underneath, a touch-tap mute button on top, and a mode selector on the back. The ability to choose from four pre-programmed scenario-based settings (podcast vs. interview vs. chat etc..) without needing a complex software is great and it is all at your finger tips with the mode selector. Speaking of software, the accompanying downloadable application for your desktop allows you to customize your sound settings and, of course, the RGB colors, patterns, ambience, and reactiveness. I am always partial to my blues and greens and, boy, did I get them. The sound of the microphone is great even when using my typical chat services, Discord, Zoom, and Teams. I unfortunately do not have experience with recording with intent like as voice overs, but my friend does like to capture instances of us playing various videogames together. Even without a "boosted server" the quality is crystal clear with a wide range. The addition of a built-in pop filter allows for some better hands-off control, giving the user the optional freedom of no external pop filter mounts or covers should they choose to do so. Although, it is always recommended to consider getting one depending on your vocal habits. The material used in the construction is very reassuring and has a nice matte black. The stand itself is very solid and you would have to put in a little effort to knock this thing over. I don't see myself getting a new microphone anytime soon, and I hope that I never have to!Ryan Z

I got this mic to replace a cheaper one i got from amazon for streaming on twitch. The audio quality is stellar, and i would even argue that its on par with the higher end stuff from rhode and sure, except its much cheaper AND its made by what is essentially a gaming company. With just a noise gate and a noise supression filter through OBS it already sounds like a professional grade mic. The physical aspects of it leave a few things to be desired as it is quite large. There is a more important problem though, the USB C port is on the back which creates the need for a steep bend in the cable right at the connector. So far i havent had any problems and the cable it comes with is pretty sturdy so its not a deal breaker, but i feel like it could have definitely been designed better. Overall the lighting, sound quality and construction make this a very solid choice.spencingt0n

Really I can not explain or compare this mic with any high end audio analyzer that tell us how good or bad it is. In my case I just use it direct into Audacity on my laptop using a Zoom H4s as phantom power and audio interface true my USB connection. Easy, ok yes it is, just plug and play in this configuration. Nice sound, yes very good and real for my taste. I like to set the input mic levels a little low and get around a meter or less with my instruments and amplify the recording level to -4.5 dB to have an standard volume level and no distortion or clipping. This mic help me record even strong sound instruments like the violin without any problem this way. If you want to talk it just record your voice with a very nice natural sound. For the price this mic is a real nice purchase.mriutort

This is Warm audio's reproduction of the classic AKG 414. I have one WA-14 and two AKG 414's and there is barely any difference between them all. The best part is that Warm Audio's version is 1/4 of the price of the AKG's. I tend to use these on guitar amps and cabinets and have used them in acoustic guitar settings depending on the sound I'm looking for. Some engineers prefer them as a vocal mic or as drum overheads. They do work very well in situations when you are miking a room too. This works very well in live performance as well (something you wouldn't risk with a classic AKG 414) All in all this is a very versatile microphone and well worth the price offered. I should note that Warm Audio's design is based on the classic 1970's version and not the newer "updated" versions of the AKG 414 which don't have the same appeal in my opinion.James

This mic is great! The polar pattern switch makes it pretty versatile. I've used it vocals and electric guitar, so far. I was worried it wouldn't hold up to recording metal (dynamics are usually the go-to). But I am happily proven wrong! I haven't tried it as a drum room mic, but I assume it'll knock it out of the park like it did with the vocals, and guitars. I'm so happy with this, I'm going to order a second to use as overheads.Tim

Got one of these mics for drum recording and figured I'd double up on them as an overhead pair. They sound perfect for the job. Had an issue with the capsule on the first WA mic I got and their warranty support was quick and effective.Max

It’s only the practical issue of size! There is no real indication of size for this mic and I understand why. Yet it’s HUGE, I can’t have it centered in front of me even. It’s the same size as a very large orange, so 10 cm across and on its 20 cm high stand it is a very large black bobb! It also has a very bright red light when it has power and this annoying light at night has no function at all. As ounce it’s plugged in, it’s always on. So why advertise the fact with such a large bright light? Needless to say, it does have two very important redeeming features; very good sound quality and because of this alone it’s then very cheap. My son actually sounds exactly as if his in the same room with no distortions. Yet 3 stars is still a very good achievement in my opinion. Recommend this as it can be placed to one side. Yet due to the two problems and the fact that it has no switch 3 star rating.MajorBrighton01

Really good mic. I really love it. it's a very big upgrade over my 20 dollar wireless headphones. and I continue to use my Corsair HS35with it, just like my old wireless headphones. the plug and play with absolutely nothing avoiding its path are very amazing. Zero Complaints One thing though is if you do have background noise you should consider going with another microphone like the Razer Seiren Mini, Or a HyperX. Really love this microphone though. the sound quality of the voice is outstanding. I got it on sale for 50$. But if you are looking for a really good mic and good price (wait for it to go on sale) id say pull the trigger if you don't have background noise and want an awesome mic! Meh and letdown would be the words to describe this. First of all they need to remove the $20 Ubisoft part of the item description. The codes these contain are all from 2020/2021 and well expired. But we don't buy microphones for whatever dollar off codes they contain – this was meant to be used in place of a full-on gaming headset – hoping the mic quality would be better than a my laptops mic array, without looking like a knob on conference calls while working from home with a cumbersome gaming headset on. Mission accomplished? Nope. Well. You at least look normal speaking – the downside here is this mic picks up EVERYTHING. Like. Everything. Typing? Kids? Someone in the house on the other side of the same floor flushing a toilet? Yep, check everything. To the point co-workers asked how I even got any work done. I can't have that while working. And being a Blue product, I expected some customization in voice and some sort of background canceling – but the software is limited to showing you your iCE mic and controlling only the gain. And even then unless I was on top of the thing, it wasn't picking up my voice very well – but had no problem with everything else leaking through in my house. Disappointing. Back to the store this went. I could only see low end streamers using this in a sound proof room. Otherwise I'd highly recommend skipping.NikS

I thought I was supposed to get a bundle deal with the rcm02 condenser microphone with the shock mount and isolation shield to only get the isolation shield from the UPS worker. Why would you have pictures of a bundle deal and only give out one piece it seems unfair as a business owner and a customer's point of view. This is the 1st time I've ever had any problem from yall from ordering through yall for 4 years now I even bought my 1st interface from AudioSavings. I feel let down. Compared to the other two mics, the sound pickup is excellent! No more deep droning coming from the input line when connected. Plus it looks pretty sweet! The stand itself is flimsy though…I had a spare weighted stand and with that it holds up excellently!shampro1984
