Reviews:
Waited months for this to arrive and it was definitely worth the wait. I also have an Op Amp Big Muff and another budget fuzz pedal. I definitely prefer the sound of the Behringer. Setting the switch in between Fuzz 1 and Fuzz 2 gives you both settings in parallel and it sounds AMAZING. I have a few Behringer pedals. Some are good, some are not so good. This is definitely one of the good ones.
This pedal may be cheap, but it is one of the most flexible pedals ive seen. Fuzz 1 and Fuzz 2 are an octave style fuzz, Fuzz 1 being very dark and warm, whereas Fuzz 2 is shrill and cold, great for Electric Wizard style riffing. It doesnt have noise in ANY of the modes, even with the gain maxed, and it sounds completely identical to the Boss FZ-2 Hyperfuzz. Though i believe the best thing about this pedal is the boost mode. I personally use it with the bass dimed to 11, and it sounds amazing into the front of my valve amp, pushing the tubes exactly the way i want it. The ONLY downside is the fact that it is made out of plastic, which is why i didnt value the quality at 5 stars. For the price, this pedal is a must have. Just don't go stomping on it like your other metal-made pedals, and it will last you a long time.Samuel M.
Cons: The casing is plastic,so I'm not sure how gig-survivable it would be over time. Whoever came up with the procedure for changing the battery would make the Marquis de Sade weep with jealousy. Pros: It does a -perfect- facsimile of the crushing DOOM TONE Electric Wizard have on the 'Dopethrone' album; put a 7-string through this and watch your garden die. It does a bunch of other seriously fun fuzz sounds and is actually quite versatile, given the 3 modes it has, the range of the tone knobs and the sheer amount of fuzz available. While the casing feels cheap, the knobs are nice and solid. It's ridiculously cheap given how good the actual sound it produces is. Why are you still reading this…? BUY ONE!varghellhammer
2. Mxr – M84 Bass Fuzz Deluxe

Mxr bass fuzz deluxe m84 the bass fuzz deluxe delivers huge fuzz tones without sacrificing original signal's punch & clarity thanks to separate dry & wet level controls. with separate dry and wet level controls, the bass fuzz deluxe sounds like you're running two different amps. blend to taste, from subtle hairiness to full on raging fuzz, with fuzz and tone controls affecting only the wet signal. the bass fuzz deluxe features true hardwire bypass.

Reviews:
I was looking for a fuzz that would not get buried in the mix and retain some low-end. I used one of of the great coupons offered by Musiciansfriend and got a great deal on it. The Bass Fuzz Deluxe is exactly what I was looking for. Whether I use it with my flatwound strung vintage P-Bass or my Yamaha TRB1005 it sounds fuzzy, heavy yet not messy or overloaded with low-mids. This effect is more versatile than you may think due to the fuzz/clean blend. Good thing it is a true bypass as it would have been a deal-breaker for me. I never buy an effect without a true bypass as it will suck up your tone even when it is off. I mostly play Alt Rock, Funk and Reggae and find some applications for this effect in all those styles. I actually like its sound better than the demos I saw on Youtube. In addition the pedal is small and looks cool. It's a keeper!Frenchy-Lefty
3. Electro-Harmonix Flatiron Fuzz Distortion
Product Details:
The electro-harmonix flatiron is a fuzz distortion pedal intended for electric guitarists. the pedal sports a classic op-amp design to give you both warm, rounded distortion and high-octane fuzz. set the pedal to mild values to preserve a moderately clean tone with low-level saturation, or crank the drive dial to secure a hefty, classic 1970s fuzz. use the drive knob to dictate the amount of input gain in the circuit. the filter knob introduces a low-pass filter for curtailing the highs, which can sometimes be over-emphasized by fuzz distortion. as you turn this knob clockwise, the center-frequency increases, letting you introduce more high-end into the circuit. the volume knob controls the output level of the pedal. the flatiron employs true bypass circuitry on the bypass/engage footswitch, so that your tone remains pristine when the pedal is disengaged. a 1/4" instrument input and 1/4" instrument output are provided for your guitar. use the supplied 9v battery to power the pedal on stage, or use a separately available ehx9.6vdc-200ma power supply.

4. Bbe Windowpane Silicon Fuzz Pedal
Product Details:
Imagine a killer fuzz tone that captures jimi at his best, with that creamy fuzz driving his marshall into incredible sustain. windowpane cuts through all of the nonsense and hype with experienced engineering for tone so authentic you'll swear jimi's setup has landed on your pedal board. windowpane's two sequentially-wired silicon transistors are properly biased at the factory and the tone is dialed in with a carefully selected treble roll-off on the second transistor, recalling the slightly mellowed top end of early germanium transistor fuzz pedals. but unlike those old classics, windowpane fuzz pedals are remarkably consistent from one to the next, thanks to reliable, predictable silicon transistors and low-tolerance 1% metal-film resistors. add in high-voltage poly caps on a rugged circuit board and windowpane delivers the mind-altering fuzz tone you're after, gig after gig. and when you don't want to melt faces, a properly engineered true hardwire bypass means signal passes entirely around the circuit, from input jack to output jack without a hint of loading.

Reviews:
Fuzz pedals are so touchy – they generally depend so much on the guitar you're using, your pedal order, your amp, and the volume you're playing at. My point is, it's easy to try a fuzz pedal and dismiss it quickly without giving it a proper chance. I really like the Window Pane. It's a pretty standard Fuzzface type pedal – to my ear these things all sound pretty similar and the differences can be pretty subtle – but then I'm not much of a cork-sniffer with regards to effects. I've also got an older FF reissue from the 90s and a Fulltone '70. Of all of these the Fulltone is the best simply because it has controllable mids. But after that the Window Pane works better for me than the old Fuzzface. Generally I don't like it with the gain below about 1:00, but it sounds pretty great when you get it dialed in right. Fuzz pedals tend to be pretty simple circuits – so you can go ahead and pay A LOT MORE for a fuzz, or try this one that is very reasonably priced. I think it sounds great, and BBE tends to make good stuff. I use mostly single coil guitars into various amps, both tube and SS. Works well with pretty much everything.Guitar in NE
My ancient Electro-Harmonix fuzz box "walked away" a while back, so I decided to replace it with this unit because it was on Stupid Deal of the Day at a good price. The box itself is cast metal and is very durable. It would take a big hammer to break it! The battery compartment is poorly designed, so it is a huge hassle to install the battery. The sound is quality is good, but the unit doesn't produce any meaningful fuzz until it reaches the three o'clock position. After that, it overloads and sounds unpleasant. The volume control works well, so it's easy to balance the fuzz volume and the clean signal. As for the quality of the fuzz tone itself, it's pretty good. I don't think it sounds quite as good as some of the "old school" fuzz boxes like the Big M or the Fuzz Face (think "Hendrix"), but it is very good for the money… especially if you catch it on Stupid Deal like I did. If you need a decent fuzz and you can't spend a lot of money, the Windowpane will serve you well.Cameramon

This is what I want to buy and this is a cool fuzz pedal. I guess I found the right one and I know the right one comes along in every shape and form. This would really go good with the guitars I have and want to have. It gives you that feeling from back in the 1960's when fuzz, wah-wah, vibrato, etc. started to revolutionize the guitar scene. Jimi Hendrix used plenty of pedals in his day when he performed on stage or in the studio even on television. This is a groovy pedal I would like to have to go with a new Wah-Wah Pedal that i might buy one of these days once I start making some cash then I will be all set to go with just about everything there is under the sun.Cool Cat
I just received this pedal, and after spending a few hours with it I can say that it sounds amazing. I was surprised by how versatile it is. This pedal will be replacing my Boss MT-2 as my go to all around rock pedal, but I will still be using my MT-2 for metal. The only complaint that I have with this pedal is that it like to be in the front of the signal chain. Putting other pedal s in front of it greatly affects the sound, and subtracts from the pedals treble frequency. A tuner and a Boss CS-3 compressor / sustainer is all I put in front of it, even then, I found myself removing them from the front. With that said, the overall guitar tone still benefits from the sustainer. I am coming out of the Fuzzface with an MXR Carbon Copy Delay, and a EHX Cathedral reverb pedal. I am going into a 65 Fender twin reverb, and so far my tone sounds great.William

Reviews:
Overall: I really wanted to like this pedal because of its fuzz effect, which is very good. The distortion was O.K. but not the best, although it is workable. The biggest problem with this pedal is the fact that the clean mix does not work 100%. It is too slight and does not give you much room for keeping your bass fundamental tone. Your sound loses its bottom end. Not good!! I believe this is a huge mistake in the part of the person who designed this pedal because it is marketed to bassists. If a bassist cannot get a strong low end s/he will take that pedal and get rid of it; rightfully so! Which is what I did.
Cracking overdrive for bass. Doesn’t loose bottom end. Versatile. Surprisingly compactReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Sounds great and is really small, so handy for folks with busier pedal boards. Also overdrive and fuzz in one unit. Nice features too with the ability to blend in clean tone over the overdrive – so you dont loose too much clarity and bottom end. Perfect for bassists like me!Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
8. Mxr M225 Sub Machine Fuzz Pedal
Product Details:
The mxr sub machine fuzz kicks open the door to epic and unbridled sonic exploration. this mean little box combines the shaggy vintage tones of the la machine fuzz with a growling sub octave circuit, giving you a one way ticket to the sonic frontiers of heavy. the sub machine fuzz features the la machine fuzz s circuitry and all of its functions from its volume, tone, and fuzz controls to its electrifying octave up mode. but it s also got an old school sub octave circuit with its own level control, so you can dial in just the right mix of fuzz and sub octave signals. to further broaden the sub machine fuzz s thunderous tonal palette, the mxr team added a series switch so you can run the sub octave signal straight into the fuzz for some seriously subterranean saturation or alongside the fuzz for a split channel effect.
Specifications:
Color | Multicolor |
Number of Knobs | 4 |
Reviews:
The Sub Machine Octave Fuzz has a tight, modern sound to my ears, while also being able to spew aural filth akin to Stooges guitar. The powerful bass may be too clean for some ears – I find the overall vibe a little sterile – but there's a lot of fun here, with huge potential for exploration and use. Seems to be very well made – weighs quite a bit.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
This pedal is great. If you think you want it, you want it. And I would recommend it. This can be used as a nice OD, Dist or Fuzz before you dial in the Octave at all. With the Fuzz and Tone down you can almost use it as plain Octave (with just a bit of crunch). But obviously, the idea is you dial in your desired amounts of Fuzz and Octave and create something special. The Tone knob is very variable, which makes for a great range of tones and intensities. The option of the up octave adds another range of sweet tones, especially for those leads. Finally, my favorite spice in the Sub Machine recipe, the parallel/sequence switch is a great touch that allows you to dial in a sweet, dual-effect tone and then gamble on how it sounds in sequence, where a whos-who of odd crunchy, glitchy and some downright sweet sounds live. All around a sweet pedal if you want Octave Fuzz and a pedal that can give you very cool sounds.Lucas
9. Jhs Muffuletta Distortion / Fuzz Pedal
Product Details:
The muffuletta replicates five classic big muff circuits as well as an original jhs version for a total of six muff models, all analog, and each can be selected via the mode control. jhs 2015 is more powerful, less compressed with a more haunting mid range, also the best for bass guitar. 73 rams head 1973-1977 v2 has a scooped mid range, less gain and is overall darker. the triangle 1969-1970 v1 has more low-end response and is more articulate. the pi 1977-1978 v3 (not the 2000 redesigned nyc version) is more aggressive sound. the russian 1999-2009 v8 has less clarity and less low end. the civil war 1991-1993 v7 has more mid range, brighter overall tone and less gain. never before has there been a single pedal that gives you all these different eras of its tone.
Specifications:
Voltage | 9V |
Dimensions | 2.2" x 4.8" x 1.6" |
Number of Knobs | 4 |
Current | Less than 100 mA |
Number of Classic Tones | 5 |
Reviews:
This pedal where do I start! After going thru tons of Fuzz pedals and Muffs I finally found the be all end all. From Way Huge to EHX to the JHS mini foot and more. Just remember there is some volume drops between fuzz types. Not an issue when you stick to one for a song. I prefer the JHS setting myself. I had wanted one since it came out and when I finally got it I kicked myself for not getting one sooner. Works great one bass and guitar! And if you put a tube screamer in front watch out! Buy one today you will not regret it!Vic
I could decide which fuzz to get. I was considering the big muff opamp and other various fuzzes. Then I came across this one that offers a bunch of different fuzz circuits in one unit. It was pretty much a no brainer since it also happens to be a JHS. I really trust that brand because Josh just seems like he really knows what he's doing. I could be wrong but based on this pedal I'm probably right. It's all I was looking for in a fuzz pedal and will probably not be shopping for anymore fuzz pedal. It's a really a great value for all the different tones you can get. All usable sounds.
Overall: I've owned three different EHX Fuzz pedals as well as several other brands of fuzz, but if I want all those fuzz options on my pedalboard it would need to be 10ft long. This is the perfect solution, it has several great fuzz tones and I can say they sound almost identical.Of course it's JHS so you know it's good and you will be taken care of if something goes wrong.

Voltage | 9 Volts |
Style | RUSTY FUZZ |
Reviews:
It is my fourth, or fifth, pedal with TC Electronics and I love all of them. I also had an audio card which was wonderful. This fuzz is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a sound with a lot of mids and yet still offering a wide range of possibilities. The price is very low but the quality is very high, sound and fabrication. Strong, small, knobs with this slight resistance that I love. I will definitely look into more TC electronics pedals.
I got an MXR 108, and I thought the rusty fuzz was destined for the junk drawer. Utterly convinced I had found a superior fuzz with a smaller footprint, I gave it one more shot… and discovered that I need TWO fuzzes on my board. Bottom line, think of this as a "specialty" fuzz. It's for when you want something that goes from dark & muffled to thick & rusty. I love that it doesn't clean up very well. I love how saturated it can sound. Throw in some chorus and you're in a different decade or galaxy. It does what a classic fuzz doesn't do. It does a great lo-fi messy fuzz. Great price and build!GuitarMan84
11. Fulltone 70-Bc Fuzz Pedal
Product Details:
Just in! pre-owned fulltone '70 fuzz pedal in great shape, with the original box. the fulltone '70 hearkens back to day when fuzz was fuzz. if you want polite, this isn't for you! using a pair of intentionally mismatched silicon transistors, this fuzz pedal snarls and spits (the mismatch is all about harmonic content). setting the fuzz at "10" opens the doors to tones that will rip the flesh – not for the faint-hearted! housed in a deep blue 16-gauge steel box, this monster offers more aggressive fuzz than the '69 and includes a mid control for extra clarity. the '70 provides some mean fuzz!

Outputs | 1 x 1/4" |
Power Source | 9V DC power supply (sold separately) |
Batteries | 1 x 9V |
Reviews:
This is a decent fuzz pedal that is better than some of the other offerings. I have a bunch of fuzz pedals and this one is good but not great. It will get you reasonably close on a lot of tones. It does not quite have nearly the tone and certainly not the feel of a couple of my other boutique fuzzes that simply are much better. That said, for a mass produced pedal it is one of the better ones among it's comptetitors. I have a fulltone OCD and I really like it a lot. I did not care for the mini dejavibe or this pedal. They were not horrible just nothing special. Fulltone does build a quality product that will last and some people really like them. To me it depends on what else you have played to compare it to.crazy Al

Amazing Fuzz pedal with so many option for shaping tone on guitar or bassdaniel_hanford2012
I have only used one other fuzz pedal before (the fuzz face mini), so I have no other frame of reference to compare this pedal to. The swollen pickle has a huge variety of settings compared to the FF. I was looking for a fuzz pedal to get some Fu Manchu or Nebula like tones. This will do that. The swollen pickle does not like to be used in conjunction with some of my other distortion pedals though. Works great with modulation and delay pedals. It's built like a tank, it sure looks road worthy. I got it for a small board though, and it takes up a fair amount of real estate. For the tones, I guess it's a compromise I'll make. I'm happy enough with the SP that I'm sure I will eventually get some other Way Huge pedals.MCL
14. Walrus Audio Kangra Filter Fuzz Pedal
Product Details:
This is an awesome 2 in 1 pedal. the envelope filter is great on its own and the fuzz is super versatile. everything works exactly as it should. comes with the box. i bought this pedal new from walrus as a blemished pedal. the only marks are underneath and on the side. the kangra filter fuzz is a true bypass, two-in-one pedal that provides a thick and spatty octave fuzz, and a psychedelic filter thats great for sweeps, frequency boost or even envelope filter sounds.
Reviews:
Great tone. Plenty of control and the artwork is amazing as usual. I’ve yet to play a Walrus pedal that I haven’t lovedMatt

Reviews:
I have a Voodoo Lab Proctavia on one of my boards and wanted a second octave fuzz for my main board, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. The MXR Octavio is FANTASTIC. I was shocked at how good it is, actually. The octave tracking is great and the fuzz is smooth. I highly recommend this pedal. Plus, no center positive power weirdness like most octave fuzzes and it's in a small (normal) enclosure!
Great sounding pedal, very different than other fuzzes but a lot of fun. Arrived in perfect condition.rodn-macm
