1. Prs John Mayer Silver Sky Electric Guitar Tungsten
Product Details:
Selling my paul reed smith silver sky 2018 model. the guitar has been played and shows signs of wear. there are two chips of paint on the back and a few dents along the edge of the body. on the front there is a scratch and paint defect where they pick guard was tightened too much or something where it meets the body. i tried to photograph the marks to show. the volume knobs have most of the numbers missing (a known issue with these and light corrosion on the bridge saddles). there is also a little wear on the frets and could use a refinish (still plays great). no damage to the neck. volume pot has a little crackle to it once and a while. trying to be as transparent as possible. i just put a new set of strings and deep cleaned the guitar. comes with prs gig bag (one clip is broken to use as a backpack). please message me for more photos or video.

Reviews:
Some people say prs just “ripped off a strat and put an ugly headstock on it” Dude fender could NEVER achieve this quality. Strats are awesome, and obviously inspired this instrument, but I’ve played 60’s and 70’s strats, and modern American strats in the silver sky price range. Not a single one has EVER had the response, the feel, the tone, or the magic that this guitar has. I loved the rosewood prs and was about to purchase one until they announced the maple fretboard. Had to wait about 6 months on preorder and it was more than worth every penny and every bit of waiting. The pickups have such a beautiful vintage feel. And it is warm, instead of “ice picky” like some strats can get some times. The tone knobs on this guitar are more responsive than any guitar I’ve ever played, and give all 5 pickup voicings multiple tonal shapes. The bridge system is comfortable, very well made. The guitar is light, comfortable, and can handle such a beautiful variety of genres and tones. Fretboard is like BUTTERRRRR when you bend notes. It’s addicting. And I love the aesthetic of the hollow birds. If you’re thinking about getting one just do it.JG
Sound: Sound quality is excellent. Every position is useable and Musical to my and my wife’s ears. I can only relate to vintage strat tones from recordings. The cleans are excellent to my ear as is heavily distorted tones. Very good. Features: I had no real expectations as I researched this guitar thoroughly. Some of the reviews online don’t like the tuners and the knobs, they are quite high quality. Ease of Use: For me, it was as easy as plug and play! Quality: Exquisite craftsmanship. Finish is excellent. Neck is very nice. Guitar is light and resonant. Value: Yes, but this question is relative. Manufacturer Support: N/A I have owned 4 PRS guitars, never had an issue. The Wow Factor: If you know what you are buying, this is an instrument of the highest caliber. Anyone that has bought it will want to play it frequently. Overall: We had all read the reviews, watched the videos, and talking to people about this guitar. Paul Reed Smith has stated “I make guitars for the customer” numerous times. He made John Mayer what he asked for, promise fulfilled. John Mayer stated that this was not a shot at Fender and various other things that give insight on the guitar. Fair Play. The silver sky is a really good…..great……..excellent……..no, it is a phenomenal instrument. The neck takes time to adapt to but it is an excellent neck! I don’t find it too small or too large. It is designed to wrap your had around it. The radius measure is no issue either, the issues that exist may originate from poorly set up instruments in the past. It sounds as good as described. I use all the pick-ups combinations but I always have on a s-style guitar, but these are as good and “consistent “ across each pickup. I have spent too much time on this exposition about my Silver Sky. The best way for me to describe the guitar is I love to play it and when I am not playing it , I’m thinking about playing it. I have got to go and play now………..it’s calling me……….
First off, I've been a bit of a Fender fanboy for a long time. Like many people, I have often scoffed at the idea of paying ultra-lux money for a copy of a strat. But this past weekend I went to my local GC to play the Fiore and, MCCarty and some CU24s, some more Fenders and even a couple of Les Pauls. After two hours in the room, I came home with an Orion Green SS. I just simply could not stop playing it. So comfortable to hold and play, once my hand adjusted to the neck shape. But the tone immediately grabs you as being full and round, bright enough, and not nearly as overly-harsh as my Am Pro2 can be. Build quality and finish was excellent, and this thing was so fresh that buffing compound is still coming to the surface after playing. Fantastic guitar that probably won't make me sell off my Fenders, but definitely inspires and excites me to play. So happy I finally got one.Jason
2. Prs John Mayer Silver Sky – Dodgem Blue
Product Details:
The prs john mayer silver sky teams old and new with scrupulous precision and careful design. the use of alder for the body reflects the construction of '60s guitars which mayer hugely admires, whilst the lower horn scoop allows for exceptionally easy access to the higher frets. as well as having vintage and practical qualities, of course the sound is just as stunning. powerful 635jm single coil pickups deliver a superb, colourful tone with a high end that glistens whilst maple and rosewood bring brightness and balance in good measure. designed to provide incredible playability, the silky-smooth fretboard allows you to pitch bend and slide as if your fingers are floating on air, much like the dazzling, yet subtle, bird inlays that accent it. the reverse headstock then ensures even more access to the fretboard, particularly its underside – so you can have a playing experience like no other. once you have nailed your technique with the aid of such innovative features, sculpt your tone perfectly using the volume and tone controls. there are two of the latter to ensure the ultimate precision.

Reviews:
I had the opportunity to play a Silver Sky locally through a vintage Super Reverb and pretty much knew from the first note that I would be owning this guitar! All the switch positions provide a usable palette of sound. The tone controls then allow you to fine tune that sound and they work in a very controlled and balanced fashion. I just kept dialing around and found all the clean and slightly driven sounds I was looking for. And the neck is butter! Having seen JM's instagram video explaining the initial idea behind introducing this guitar, then the 3 year process of bringing it to life, I had to admit I was all in. I can't tell you how many Saturdays were spent driving to every music shop in town looking for the "one" perfect "S-style" guitar. Usually, playing dozens or more, maybe finding one, often finding none. What if the perfect guitar (by JM's specs) could be made 100 out of 100 times? That was the challenge put to PRS, and from what I've experienced so far, I think they've pulled it off! While I do believe in supporting my local music stores, the AMS payment plans available made a purchase of this sort much more palatable. Having purchased guitars through AMS previously, I was also confident the guitar I would receive would be spot on. I was not disappointed. The build quality is pure PRS and the setup was perfect. If you are looking for a Strat style single pickup guitar that will provide tone for days, look no further!Marty S.
This is a beautiful instrument. I was initially a bit hesitant about the 7.25” radius as it’s not something I’ve ever spent much time playing on, but after a half hour or so it felt comfortable. The neck carve is also girthy, as you’d expect from a vintage styled instrument, but it all feels very natural. Those pickups. Wow. Dynamic, great clarity, and very usable tones in all positions. The usual PRS quality generally applies, and the finish of the instrument is great. However, if I was nitpicking I really dislike the feeling of the tone and volume controls under my fingers. They look absolutely fine, but they feel lightweight, thin and almost slightly gritty in their roll, and that seems out of place with the feeling of the rest of the instrument. It also doesn’t come with a hard case, as you’ll be aware as the listing is clear about that, but I feel that’s a little cheap of PRS at this price point. The gigbag is good quality anyway, though. Overall, though, this is totally worth the money. It’s a very PRS-ey/JM-ey take on a strat, obviously, but it also has great character all of it’s own. I’m thoroughly enjoying it.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

Reviews:
Overall: This guitar was sold as blemished. The actual blemish on the guitar was on the back of the body. I very small pin hole like indent, maybe 2-4mm. Almost ingenious. What I mean by that, is that is saved me 200.00 dollars and when you notice it, it looks kind of cool. Hard to explain, maybe a relic touch or something. Besides that, I can’t help but loving this guitar, for its simplicity, good taste and the extra birds on the fret board and lightness. Maybe someday, I’ll replace the stock pickups with something more extravagant, but right now, I’m completely satisfied. Thank you zZounds.Rodrigo
Overall: This guitar is amazing. It plays well right out of the box. The neck is smooth and no sharp frets. The pickups sounds great. I play a mix of rock, metal, and Jazz and it can handle all of those no problem. I love that you can split the coils on the pickups. It really gives you a wide range of tones.John
Overall: This rating is for the instrument itself, not zZounds. Their customer service is amazing and unparalleled. I've been waiting for the release of the Holcomb SVN for some time now. The finish is great, it's beautiful, the fretboard and neck are beautiful, the pickups are great. The flat radius fretboard is insanely comfortable! Unfortunately, there are an equal amounts of negatives. The nut is garbage. It's plastic, very sharp, and has slag hanging off of it everywhere. I doubt very much that it's properly shaped or set. It has made tuning impossible. The tuning machines themselves are also extremely low quality and seem to have a gap in the gearing, which also makes tuning a very aggrevating process. The low A# string seems impossible to intonate correctly, the saddle is maxed out and it's still registering extremely sharp. This is all in the tuning and string gauge that Mark plays in so… quality control seems to be an issue with these first run Holcomb SVN's. All in all, an extremely beautiful guitar for a ridiculous price while PRS's competitors build far better instruments in the same budget. I would return this if alllowed.Dayne

Product Details:
Beautiful green finish on this unique guitar! the 24 08 switching is one of a kind on the se line. two mini toggle switches allow you to split the humbuckers independently. that, along with the 3 way switch gives you 8 possible tones for insane versatility. but being aprs, this isn't versatility just for the sake of it, this guitar sounds just as amazing as it looks. i bought this new, and have only played a handful of times. i will also include the stand that is pictured with the guitar as well as the gig bag. don't miss out on this great deal!

Reviews:
I've always wanted a PRS and now I have one it was worth the wait. The range of tones, the sensitivity of the controls, the playability are all top notch. Not to mention it looks stunning. Out of the box it was all nicely set up, low action and very very playable. I've switched from the stock 9s to 10s and it sounds perfect. I've never been one for coil taps…all the others I have stay firmly in humbucker territory but there's something about these which really work for me – putting one in coil tap and then switching to the middle position is a tone I've not had on any other guitar and one I shall be using a lot. Top work, PRS…top work…Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
This is the first prs I’ve ever owned and I have to say if this is the quality prs puts out for their SE line, I can only imagine how good the core models are! I mostly play heavier stuff (djent, deathcore, death metal, etc.) and with the right eq settings these pickups do just fine. But they really shine with lower gain and crunch scenarios. I love playing jazz or doing some chicken pickin with the multiple sounds you can get out of the wiring setup. Superrrr versatile, very well built for an Indo guitar. My only complaint is the glossy neck, since I mostly play leads. But that can be solved fairly easily. It’s an easy guitar to play and it plays like butter. Stays in good tune even with whammy abuse. No sharp fret ends, fret buzz, high action, bad intonation etc. played great out of the box with a tuning. Now the only thing I would “upgrade” on this guitar are the tuners to locking tuners. Other than that for it’s price point it’s amazing!Sixstringfury
If you are looking for a guitar that can be used on all occasions, if you are undecided and do not know which guitar to choose, if you do not know which way to go, whether a strat, super strat or a Les Paul. Well, here you have the indicated guitar. I did not know what to choose, I tried many guitars, at the guitar center in Lynnwood WA, they were patient with me when I arrived and tried several guitars repeatedly, they are very kind. But in the end I was looking for a guitar that would be useful for everything, I wanted quality, comfort, good sound and versatility. Well I found it, after a long search, I called the call center and Sarah Hance attended me, she is the best salesperson, she is not only a saleswoman, she is the best advisor, she takes the time to explain, she is a professional, she always has a solution at hand, there is simply no better advisor than her, this girl should be given an award for the enormous work she does, Guitar Center should have more people like Sarah; After Sarah helped me, she sent the guitar to my doorstep. the guitar came in good condition, without a single scratch, it shone a lot, I tried it and fell in love with it, it can touch the sky with sweet notes but it can also put pure evil in notes with this guitar, it can do whatever you want, its neck very comfortable, its excellent frets, none sharp, unique details. Do not miss the opportunity to take one of these and I assure you that you will not regret itRicardo

I bought this guitar and the very next night participated in an extended jam session. We played for hours and I never got tired and worn out from fighting with the guitar. It was extremely easy to play and the varied tones I got from very clean to overdriving the amp's preamp were spot on. Everyone listening were impressed with how good the guitar sounded. Combining this guitar with my PRS McCarty 594, I have all bases covered when it comes to being able to cover every musical style I need to cover.Steve L

Reviews:
I just received this guitar yesterday and I could not put it down. I sat down with it and 3 hours just flew by. I have been wanting buy this guitar since it first came out. I wanted a guitar for drop C tuning and this one fills that roll perfectly. No sharp fret edges, beautiful finish, and a nice setup right out of the box. I did have to raise the low E string just a tad to alleviate a little bit of sting buzz but now it sings perfectly. Satin neck feels great, intonation is right on, and the pick ups sound fantastic both for high gain and clean tones. I own a couple Strandbergs,a couple ESP LTD's, a couple Ibanez, and a fender strat so I have a bunch of other brands to compare it too and this is going to be one of my favorites. AMS took my order at 2pm with no shipping cost and I had the guitar the next day. Very happy with this guitar and the transaction. Thanks AMS!Chuck L
I have been waiting to buy this guitar for a while and finally pulled the trigger, and I am quite happy with it so far! The pro’s: The neck is a perfect size for my hands. I can fret chords normally, as well as using my thumb to wrap around for some crazy chord options. The pickups sound fantastic with a ton of gain, a little crunch, and sparkling clean with delays and reverbs, I think these are my favorite part for sure. The finish is awesome, the purple is definitely better in person than the photos show, it is a very muted purple, not overbearing at all. The con’s: No locking tuners. I know others have said it, but for $1,000 this guitar should come standard with locking tuners. This definitely causes some tuning stability issues, especially with lower gauge strings on it, even in Drop C. The nut, as others have mentioned could use some work or replacing. I am going to file it a little more myself before I decide to replace it completely. Overall I love the shape of the guitar, the playability, the way it sits on my body when sitting or standing. The neck is just so playable, I am definitely loving this guitar!Ryan
So I got this guitar as a minor blemish. I'd been waiting for a while for one, so I had to get it while I could. In typical PRS fashion, of course it's amazing. I just wasn't prepared for how much I was going to love it. Low action, easy playability and incredible sound, due to the fantastic pickups. The coil tap is also very useful. Rock solid tuning as well. A little bit different than your normal PRS SE line. I can definitely see myself playing it for years to come.Daniel

Flying in the silver sky john mayer is a walking contradiction. thanks to hits like “your body is a wonderland” and “daughters,” he is one of the biggest pop stars walking the earth today. he could probably spend the rest of his life filling arenas with people drawn to his catchy, cleverly written pop tunes. but, mayer decided to forge a different path, because he is also one of the biggest guitar nerds breathing! after all, he’s the same person who worked long hours at a gas station as a teenager so he could afford an srv signature strat. mayer’s appreciation for the blues runs deep, and so do his skills. but don’t take my word for it: ask eric clapton, b.b. king, and buddy guy, because he has collaborated with all of them. finally, to top it off, mayer started playing with bob weir in the dead & company! frankly, he may be the only musician with the range to play grateful dead tunes with 3/5ths of the grateful dead one night, jam with b.b. king the next, and play a recording session with rapper travis scott
