Divine reverb for mere mortals. down from the heavens comes the holy grail, a compact digital reverb guitar pedal that is priced so low thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's reverb tank any longer. the holy grail will make you a believer with its emulation of classic spring reverb so faithful that even dick dale couldn't tell the difference. next, get lost in the lush spaciousness of the hall reverb and ask yourself, how did they fit notre dame into such a small package? finally, reach enlightenment with the haunting flerb.

Reviews:
I have an amp that doesn't have a reverb channel and was using a multieffects pedal that had a reverb function, but I decided it was time to have a seperate reverb pedal so I could run it alongside the multieffects – kind of to simulate a reverb channel on an amp. I did my research and picked this little guy. I was suprised first off at the weight – for being a die-cast chassis, it wasn't heavy at all. I found my favorite setting in the Hall reverb, simply because I liked the decay it produced, but all of the effects seemed to work very well. the response was accurate from effect to effect when you turn the amount knob. I found at about 9 o'clock you would get a minimal effect that usually is more heard at the tail end; and at 11-12 o'clock it blends with your dry signal so it's very prominent. once I got past 12 o'clock though, the more dynamic picking I'd do the more the effect would push through, so sometimes it would throw my drummer off a little bit since it was almost a slap-back decay. with the amount knob all the way dialed-in, the effect obviously overtakes all of your dry signal; and in the flerb setting you get some awesome sounding ambient sounds. All in all, I wish I could get a little bit more of a dry/wet amount ratio, but this pedal definitely has some cool sounds and can be used in a variety of settings. I think it's the best pedal to replace a reverb channel for an amp and gives you more versatility than that one sound your amp channel would give you.Clifton
Nice nice pedal, feels fairly tough, the difference between the spring and hall I thought was quite noticeable. It take me a while to get a setting I liked however I imagine it will depend on your amp and guitar plus we all like different tones. Overall I like it would be interesting to see the difference between this The nano and the normal sized. 👍👍👍STEPHEN F.
Picked one a few weeks ago because I switched to a tube head without reverb. Orange TH30 which is also awesome but felt the need to add some verb at times. I choose this pedal for 3 reasons, compact, simple operation and $. Good decision I believe. Had no problem daisy chaining to other pedals using my Snark 9V set up and love the spring setting. As others have said, the "Flirb" is virtually impossible to use for any practice purpose and Frank Zappa may be the one person who could have utilized it. Still a good pedal.Latty

Reviews:
I actually sold my original Holy Grail and ended up buying the Holy Grail Neo because of the plate reverb – it's just so lush! I had looked at so many other reverbs (not wanting to repeat myself) but as a gigging musician who loves to tweak their sound mid-set, there is nothing better in this price range. I have to say I also tried the Oceans 11 pedal and was not impressed by the physical quality of the pedal. Also, the text on the pedal was barely readable because it is so small – maybe the Oceans 11is more suited to a home studio or someone who is still looking for their sound…Garry
Pedal has a small foot print which is good for saving pedal board space. one knob for the amount of reverb and a 3 way toggle switch (Spring, Hall and plate). Reverb range is really good and all 3 sounds are really usable. I use spring and plate for blues / classic rock and the hall for deep ambient sounds, when combined with other effects. overall very happy with this pedal, spent ages researching before splashing out the cash for this, but genuinely for me i'm happy with the return for the price on this unit. it;s one of those pedals that offers you insparation when you play due to the wide tonal range it has. overall very happy with purchase.Derek A.
Let me confess right up front, I'm a reverb lover. Some love it, some don't. I especially like a good reverb pedal when I play outdoors to add some of that room sound that I'm missing. This pedal is so direct and to the point. Three reverbs to choose from, all quite usable I might add, and the Reverb knob which controls the wet/dry mix. I don't have the time or patience to experiment all day long to get the right sound. I work full-time and gig on weekends. I need something like this Holy Grail Neo that is simple but effective. An added bonus is that it kind of matches my EHX Neo Clone. Right now I'm in love with the plate reverb but that could change next week. You can't go wrong with this pedal.Larry

This a great pedal. I was using a digitech hardwire reverb before this. I like this one much better. The reverse setting is actually usable unlike the hardwire. Also this pedal has a blend knob which is great for 100% wet settings to dial in some post rock sounds. Plate setting is just as good or better than other pedals I have used. The blend & time knobs work very well & give a wide range of reverbs to dial in. Every setting on this pedal is usable. Its a keepertcaldn

Reviews:
Keeley makes two of the very best reverb and echo units. One is the Memphis Sun for the low fidelity tile room Sun Records '50s rockabilly sound. This is also excellent and high fidelity. I like the simplicity of Keeley pedals to get that classic reverb and slap back sound I love. I grew up adoring my father's Echoplex EP3 in the '70s. Keeley gives that full saturated sound in easy to use and understand pedals.Tim B.
This pedal is so much fun. Well named as the combo of effects makes any small practice amp sound like you're in a tremendous cavern. I'm just getting started with my pedal collection, so my expertise is minimal, but this pedals was really easy to get the hang of. The dials are hard to see and operate from standing so don't expect to be able to tweak without using your hands, stomp switches works great for that to turn the two effects on and off while playing.kmoon60
With the amount of Delay/Reverb pedals being released this pedal is breath taking! The 3 reverbs on-board are inspiring to say the least. Most reviews say this isnt a "just for a spring reverb" pedal however the spring setting on it is my favorite. Love the built in trem. The Shimmer is awesome but the shimmer setting has to be pretty high up for them to become noticeable. The Modulation setting is also very nice though I dont go to it frequently. The delay side is amazing as well. The modulation goes from subtle to extreme. This is a steal at 179.99 and its worth every penny!NRKB

Reviews:
When I recently bought a new amp, it had no reverb. Being that I have always used reverb on past amps I had to start looking for the right reverb pedal. With so many choices out there to choose from, I opted to find the most simple layout and operation, as well as overall good replication of a true reverb. This pedal fit the bill for me. Doesn't take up a lot of real estate on the pedal board as so many others do. And it only has 3 knobs vs many other pedals that seem to have too many. Operation is so simple and easy to tweak in your favorite sound. I love the PAD section for the ambient space sound. The plate and spring settings can be very convincing for a more true sounding reverb. Overall, I think for the money, you can't go wrong with this pedal. Built like a tank, as all MXR pedals are. Get an expression pedal to run with this and wow!mr_scotty
Its sad to say but I have owned this pedal 3 multiple times now. One thing that kept me wanting to buy this thing was the looks of the pedal and also the awesome MXR videos on Youtube. Its a very nice looking pedal and its also smaller than most of other reverb pedals out there which is a nice for any pedal board. The reverbs all sounds nice besides the spring reverb which just sounds digital to me. I dont know what it is with this pedal but I find that I get bored of it after a few days. The reverbs sound a bit bland and there is nothing too exciting about it. The most interesting effect would be the pad reverb but I find the effect to become annoying after time. Overall I find that this pedal would suit someone looking a subtle reverb with not much character.ausmusic
Overall: This is a great pedal. I wanted a better and more versetile reverb than the spring tank in my amp and this turned out to be a great solution. There's a range of different flavors of reverb, all of which sound authentic and overall great sound quality. The pedal is really easy to use and dial in a good sound. I also really like the tap feature on the tone knob that allows you to cycle through the different reverbs. Makes it really easy to switch sounds "on the fly." Overall very satisfied. It's a great option for a simple and great sounding reverb.Kevin

Reviews:
Absolutely incredible sounds from this pedal, build quality is brilliant and the different reverb types are endless, only fault that I can say about it was the lack of instructions in the instruction booklet that comes with it ! Pretty much useless as far as how to navigate the preset menu? Fortunately I did find some guidance on YouTube on how to find said presets! But after i found out it’s been an absolute joy to use, I was thinking if it was worth the quite high price tag ? But fear not, it’s worth every penny I can assure you, takes your music production to another level! Stunning 😍colin h.
This pedal is amazing, plain & simple. I was instantly energized in playing through my repertoire when plugging this thing in for the first time. The control knobs allow for creative combinations that make unique sounds I've never before seen in a reverb pedal. There are several creative presets that I instantly knew I could use. All in all, it's an amazing, majestic sounding pedal that is definitely gonna be on my pedal board for a long time coming.

Hum/fizz is too prominent – even with noise cancellation (through three different amps: Fender, Blackstar & Laney – valve or solid state). Overall volume is significantly reduced when engaging – not very useful for live performance/recording. Build does not appear to be very robust.Stuart M.
This pedal from German manufacturer KMA is a combined delay and reverb pedal. Having more controls than a battle star it takes a bit of getting used to. The build quality is excellent. It’s capable of producing some great sounds. I’m gradually beginning to love it. The included instruction card leaves quite a lot to be desired. Some diagrams showing what the controls do and some example set-ups would be helpful. Would I recommend it to other guitarists? I already have!Richard F.
This pedal sounds like dream! Easy to use, seems durable, perfect for shoegaze or ambient style of music.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
9. Matthews Effects Astronomer V2 Celestial Reverb Pedal
Product Details:
An absolutely beautiful reverb pedal. has hook-side velcro on the back. very mint condition, clean, treated well for the half of a year that i’ve had it. i’m just looking for a simpler reverb pedal and thus i am offloading this one. select between 3 different reverb types, from basic hall type to the most shoe-gazer type of reverb. it shimmers, it glistens! you’ll notice there’s 2 sets of knobs, 3 above and 3 below. via 2 dip switches on the side of the pedal, you can assign any of 3 different reverb types to each row of knobs and then call those reverbs up with the 2 switches. time to get lost in the world of reverb! i know lots of pedals have that sometimes but i just want to make sure you’re aware of it.

This pedal is everything and more in a reverb pedal . Sounds great and easy to use . Thank you AMS !
This pedal is wonderful. 4 people that play music with any kind of ambience it will be a real Delight to play. Though I started playing shoegaze and I've listened to shoegaze off and on my whole life for over 40 years since the best bands were putting out all their material back in the nineties, it will sound wonderful for that but it is just great for they call Post Rock or any kind of Spacey Ambien dreamy stuff. It's great because you can dial down the Shimmer and just use it as a straight-ahead Reverb and it sounds greatJared J
Excellent sound quality for truly "out of this world" reverb.Ben

Three effects in one pedal. Bought this looking for tremolo and reverb in one stomp box but was pleasantly surprised when I realized that it had the vibrato effect as well which I find to be more versatile than tremolo. Easy to dial-in a good sound quickly. My only niggle is I wish the LED would blink with the tremolo/vibrato since there is no tap tempo.ht_gtr
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the reverb on this pedal. They really dialled in that authentic spring sound and the character really enhances the guitar tone well without any shrillness or unwanted artefacts. I only intent to use the regular tremolo setting which sounds fantastic, but the other 2 settings are great to play with. And the addition of an output level knob is extremely handy to top up the signal if youre using a deep tremolo setting. Does exactly what it says on the tin, and does it very well in fact!just_like_tom_thumbs_blues
Sounds Great, very quiet, great to have reverb built into the pedalbenac

There are a lot of full-featured reverb pedals on the market today, most of them with some sort of shimmer/octave/pitch-shifting mode. A few things set this pedal apart from its counterparts. First off is just the amount of control you get over the processed signal. Being able to mix the signal heading into the reverb circuit, the reverb unit itself, and then the final blend, lets you get sounds that are just not possible on 4-knob units. Everything from subtle to watery to full-on church-organ psychedelia. Next, you get three memory banks to save your creations. You could use Red for no-frills reverb, blue for slight modulation, and red for the crazy stuff. Or just save different flavors of crazy stuff in all three, it's up to you. Lastly, you've also got the option of running it in stereo if you'd like (which really amplifies the effect), plugging in an expression pedal for realtime control of the reverb, and also plugging in a two-button controller to make the buttons more accessible if the Descent finds a home at the back of your pedalboard. How thoughtful!donfarfisa

I bought this reverb as I wanted a spring with a 'drip' and had a tap tremolo with it. Upon first playing it, it did this well. I liked how you could alter the different reverbs with the hidden settings on each knob, and the tremolo sound okay. A couple of downfalls stopped me keeping it however: 1. You cannot tell whether it is in true or buffered bypass. Yes, you can switch between the two, but there is no way of knowing which one you are in. 2. The tremolo as a tap function, which seems great, except that you cannot change the time of the tap to quarter notes, eight notes etc. This is a big drawback, as it would be near impossible to tap in faster tremolo rates.Andy M.
I've not had chance so far to properly explore all the functions of this (tap tempo, presets, Ctrl input), but man, the sounds I've been able to get are so convincing. It's so easy to dial in such a way that the effects don't get in the way of your core tone, even if running straight into the front of an amp! Coming from a hall of fame mini + mooer trellicopter previously, I can say this was definitely the upgrade I was looking for in quality, plus I get to save a bit more space on my board.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
13. Electro Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Pedal
Product Details:
Good/fair condition. has minor scratches. the reason i ve put good/fair condition is because i ve has some trouble with the mod in the past. the mod itself works and allows you to create a pad that you can play over (shoot me a message if you want more info on the mod ). the trouble i've had occasionally in the past has been when you're plugging in the mod it will kill the power to cathedral and it has taken me a few times to get it plugged in without killing the power. the mod itself doesn t require power, so i m not sure what the issue is. the cathedral works great itself. the only issue has been connecting the mod. also the 1/4 input on the cathedral for the mod is missing the black plastic ring/washer ( shown in photos ). pedal will include a small 10 inch stereo cable to connect the mod.

Reviews:
The sound from this pedal is superb: transparent crystal clear, no treble inflection or "scratches on tin plate" sound, just reverb faithful to the sound of the preceding effects devices in your chain. It seems to accept both instrument and line level impedence inputs without distortion. This pedal plus the Keeley compressor (four knob) are the two most essential effects I use for both my acoustic and electric guitars. This device is not cheap, but if you want really nice sound from your guitars, don't waste your money on cheaper pedals. This one is the real deal.Wally
Great competitive quality reverb box. It really does a good job with its available feature set. My only complaint is the non-buffered bypass. (no trails on effect disengage) No complaints about what the unit offers and what you can do with it for the money though. Especially because my unit just stays on anyway, in which case the signal is still getting driven to the amp in a quality way. I like the way the preset situation works too because I typically want one choice reverb sound most of the time (maybe slightly different depending on the song, but nothing that can't be done right before the song starts), and then one specific preset that's a quickly engageable 'more' sound. But when engaging or disengaging the preset, I didn't want that abrupt, disappearing previous trails thing happening. This pedal doesn't do that. It just ramps up or ramps down but stays active. Works well. Sounds natural. Unless you're turning the pedal fully off, you lose signal strength especially because it's probably last in your chain too, but hey. Can't have it all. Leave it on! Looks cool. Workable size. Pre-delay is immensely valuable. Blend control instead of level is awesome. Strreo is cool but would also benefit from a buffered bypass especially if you're running something strreo into it, but like I said, if you leave it on always.. no worries. Reasonable power consumption. Great unit. Best one for me right now. Tried a ton.Josh L.
I was an eventide user and still us the H9 daily, but I wanted a simple non-digital-sounding reverb to pair with H9 effects like chorus, wah, flange, etc. This unit is perfect. Can generate warm classical or jazz complementary reverb from small room to huge cavern, as well as metallic, rock, acid sounds. Controls are large to the touch, easily understood, lots of creative selection. I perform at least 3 times a week, usually more, on Nylon String (finger style) and pick on steel string. I use this with a Ramirez a/e, a 12-string, a les paul and several other similar guitars. I play in medium size venues with unpredictable acoustics, and this unit can be tuned to deliver appropriate reverb to all the places I've played, including outdoors. I play solo with rare performances with cello, violin, flute, doublebass. I play Bach, Beatles, Broadway; Baroque, Classical, Contemporary; ambient, rock and ethnic. You get the picture! NYC studio for 24 years, now in NC. Wish it ran on batteries also, but that is not an issue for me.James Barr, Guitar
14. Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Neo Reverb Pedal
Product Details:
Specifications:
Year | 2015 – 2022 |
15. Electro Harmonix Bad Stone Phase Shifter Pedal
Product Details:
The original electro harmonix bad stone is back! originally launched in 1977 this really cool six stage phase shifter could be heard on a plethora of different albums throughout the late 70's and early 80's before it was discontinued. now ehx are bringing this legend back with modern tweaks and build quality. the only change made to the circuit from the original pedal is that the minimum modulation rate is now a bit slower than before which suits some of the more modern guitar styles. just like the original pedal you have two modes of operation. you can either control it in auto mode with your standard rate and feedback controls which uses the lfo to constantly move the phase. the other mode disables the lfo and you instead control the frequency with the manual shift control. this second mode lets you get everything for a subtle parked wah effect to some really cool out of phase tones.

Reviews:
My board is pretty basic – ancient Cry Baby, Dynacomp, ehx Glove, Echoplex, Boss tremelo and, now, the Badstone. Tried several, but was most pleased with the Badstone. It has the widest rate range of all, the depth pot is very usable, and the manual mode is great for comb filter/cocked-wah effects. Clean you have that classic 70's Waylon phase, all the way to space ship madness with some gain and creativity. The only criticism is it would be very useful to have a more subtle range on the shallow end of the depth control. Rolled hard left it is still not very subtle. But it is lush, syrupy, and very good for the money.Fixit Guy
I wholly recommend the Bad Stone! Many phasers coat your sound, and you feel as though you're playing the pedal rather than the guitar, but with the bad stone your instrument's sound shines through, dynamics, pickup selection, and all. The speed all the way up yields an almost ring-mod effect. The manual switch can grant you some deliberately tinny rhythm guitar effects, not unlike out-of-phase pickups. The feedback knob dimed gives you a bizarre low oscillator effect. It's a lot of pedal in a small box!kevsonicist
I love this. Been using it now for almost a year. Goes from subtle to full phase in a instant. Get you one!MThomas

Reviews:
Always heard a lot about the Holy Grail and the Soul Food pedals, and wondered what the fuss was all about. Found out.I have a half dozen od pedals ( Ts-808, BD,DOD) and they all have there place on the board, but this one has a different growl than the others. Not as brittle as the BD, yet not as smooth as the TS. Not overpowering, just the "right " amount. Needed a reverb pedal too.The Defender amp I use has Dark Vader spring reverb, but not on a foot switch. There is a switch that let's you choose between spring, hall, and plate reverbs, as well as a reverse reverb. The first three sound very good. Can't really find a use for the reverse though. Maybe it sounds different to me mites in Austrrrralia , since everything is supposed to be backwards down under. If I was stranded on a desert island and could only take one pedal, this would be it. Remember, life is too short NOT to have good tone!Gerald

Upfront…..it's a Keeley …and that alone tells anyone who knows pedals that it will be well built , decent sound quality and affordable…..but they missed the boat on this one and I expect a version 2.0 soon enough….the reverb and the delay cannot be stacked , either way , they can only be played independently. This was a big mistake on the design engineers or Robert himself. The gain/overdrive side of this pedal is excellent!!! And unfortunately I am stacking this pedal with an Oceans 11 while using their spring or plate modes. I will be pretty peeved if and when version 2 is released and the stacking in series or parallel is now useable. Otherwise I give this a 3/5 where it could have been a 4.5/5 easily!!!!!…….sorry guys …had to be honest …but I won't buy version 2 unless you take BACK this original version and modify it correctly!!!Chaotic Embrace Inc
What an incredible pedal! This is the perfect grab and go for the working musician. A wonderful solid blues breaker style drive and choice of delay or reverb. Both the analog and digital delays are amazing. I can't recommend the pedal enough. It only took 5 minutes for this to become one of my all time favorite Keeley pedals (and I have over 20 different Keeleys).Nnate8

Reviews:
Disappointed, totally. I espected more for the cost. 50 dollars for a multi-preset pedal wich sounds the same all presets (as a bad funtioning spring reverb). I ve had many… Many- I insist – reverbs (hof 1, hof 2, arena, verbzilla, supernatural, rv6) and this one have been the worst. Maybe you should invest a little more money and get a nux or donner (those havent let me down). Havent mention the fact this pedal affect painfully the dry signal too much, even at low mix levels. Stay away, bad and expensive. Dont give credit to demos wich are posted around.tfperaltav
The product itself is incredible!!! Absolutely fantastic light show in one unit! The only problem I have is that the so called user manual was a spec sheet and had no instructions on how to actually operate the unit. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone but make sure you have the time to figure out what the display is saying and how to go through the menu list to make it perform the different functions it's capable of.chrisnew919
Great Digital sound effects highly recommendaprilem1
19. Line 6 Dl4 Mkii Delay Pedal
Product Details:
The new updated industry standard delay pedal has just gotten better!! 22 years ago line 6 unleashed the game changer, green delay pedal that quickly became the industry standard and was a mainstay on almost every pedal board. midi in/out, mic input and an extra exp pedal jack for more real time control over your effects. the dl4 mkii comes jam-packed with 15 new mkii delay models, 15 original delays (now rebranded as legacy delays, with “rhythmic delay” replaced by echo platter – a binson echorec model) and 15 “secret” reverb models, as well as an expanded internal memory that allows the looper to record 120 seconds in mono or 60 seconds in stereo at full speed (half-speed doubles the recording time). the new mkii delays are from line 6’s hx family, with models like ducked (tc electronic 2290 ducking delay), transistor (maestro ep-3 echoplex model with enhanced tape saturation), cosmos (roland re-201 space echo) and adriatic (modded boss dm-2 model with increased delay time). the secret reverbs are engaged by holding down the alt/legacy button and turning the rotary model selector knob to choose one to inject into any delay model and using the remaining knobs to adjust mix, decay time, parameters and even reverb-delay routing. these original reverbs are all culled from line 6’s popular hx effects and cover all the classic room, spring, hall and plate ‘verbs along with some spacious studio-quality ones. the 4-switch looper is still activated in the six o’clock position from the model selector knob regardless of which bank is selected. in this case it's easy being green!!
