Bass Guitar Sound Effect For Sale (2024 Update)

I get a variety of good, useable tones out of this one box. In fact, this has replaced the distortion patches I was using on my trusty DOD Bass 30 entirely. To say that I am happy with any stock stompbox is a big deal, because I have only a few left in my collection that I haven't modified the circuitry in to better suit me. This is one of the few originals, and that says volumes. I step on mine regularly, and haven't had any issues with it. I'm not a bass player, but I play one on my records. I've been playing lead guitar for 20 years, and I know good sounds. I say this to inform you that my credentials are in good order. You can get any sort of growl you want, thick or thin- and as much or little of the clean as you need to retain the punch at the same time. The only thing I would change is the color of the box… Since that has absolutely nothing to do with the sound it makes, I'm fine with it. Seriously, I was skeptical too when I saw the price. Don't let it, and the silly color fool you- Let your ears be the judge. Being a man with ears, fingers, and experience beyond my years, I highly recommend it to everyone.Shredprodigy

I got this a while back to add a some gain to play a bit of metal with a bit of overdrive on top as well as fattening the sound of the bass. Unfortunately this will never give you a "smooth" gain sound like having a guitar amp's gain around 2. Having gain down all the way shuts off all sound to the amp, and having it around 2/10 puts on a harsh brittle overdrive no matter the EQ. Sounds a little better with flatwound strings. This pedal goes all out or nothing. If a "Hysteria" sound is what you're going for, this will do it but not a true amp low/med-gain sound.Fear

This is a great multi effects pedal/DI. Its all I need. Dont let its small size fool you. Its got some weight to it, so I assume its probably well built. All metal. Each effects sections knobs light up a different color. Tuner is accurate. I didnt give a full 5 stars because I wouldve liked a rate knob in the chorus section & maybe some more options in the compressor section. Overall, I recommend this pedal. Pleasantly surprised with the build & sound quality. I doubt Ill use the Dirty Q (envelope filter) much but its there if I need it. Pretty much the best headphone amp for bass. The world of multi effects is moving so fast right now that if you just want a cheap multi effects unit, you’re better off paying the tiny amount extra for a valeton gp100 or similar. But for just practicing with headphones this is amazing, it’s small, light and portable. It runs off AA batteries, 9v or any USB charger/battery pack and outs to headphones or amp. Plug in headphones, a track from your laptop or whatever and jam. Forget all the terrible headphone amps like the amplugs or the overpriced ones like the fender micro and just use one of these instead. For practicing wherever whenever with a solid bunch of effects 5*. Overall review 4* just because purely as a multi effects pedal it is a bit outdated and underfeatured, but the portability means it still has a great place for practicing.jon m.

I enjoy B1X4 alot. I bought it to have the capabilities to access different sounds on my bass rig. But most importantly is the expression pedal. I use a wah pedal alot in my playing. It has a good stock clean wah sound and a good distortion wah sound. I dig that so much for the value. The best part of this unit is the ease of adjusting the levels and settings of each patch. This board gets 4 stars from me. It's great for studio work and practice but for stage work it's plastic, small and delicate body could get damaged easily. I'm a big guy with large feet and sometimes I would hit both pedals which brings up the tuner. I have since added a bass crybaby wah pedal, a pre-amp,fuzz,octave, compression pedal unit and a chorus pedal to my arsenal and still use the B1X4 together on my pedal board all together. It serves as a tuner and I use a few patches on it. It serves me so very well. The Zoom B1X Four is a great board with many, many uses and advantages for any bass player at all levels.1978circa3-9

To have all of these plus the great sounds in this package is the true definition of bang for the buck. I was interested in finding a processor that would give me great bass tone first and foremost. I'm not into a lot of the effects on bass. Maybe one or two here and there on a few songs. I just wanted a unit that would help me get that great big fat tone that you hear on recordings. I have to say that this thing did deliver. You have many amp tones to start with, several great compressors, exciters, sonic maximizers, a Sansamp driver, speaker emulations. These are modeled after high dollar reputable name brand units. This is the least expensive thing I could find out there that would give me all of this. I highly recommend this unless you have thousands of dollars and a bunch of time to experiment to find something better. pure bassista, dont look at me if ur a composer, jammer, plays keyboard as well and like nice effects, consider my opinion i mostly use this pedal to amp keyboards i bought it for the effects and the odd effects works nicely on the keys i use, theres little of them, but its still fun for 200$? this little fun? no. but its my bad thinking i would use more for bass than key so if ur a pure bassist, u might not want to consider y advice if ur a composer with a key, u will probably like the other effect u can plug in in the keyboard PLUS with the looper and the controlable tempo (bpm) u can create urself a nice track to compose or jam ofc u wuld be jamming without being plugged to the b3, because itll be plugged in the keysriv5560_obrexai3a

This is the only pedal i own, and I'm really pleased with it. I really like the compression/EQ patches,and some of the other effects. This pedal was advertised as USED.. but it looks and Sounds brand NEW! I'm not a techno guy.,so this unit works for me because it's pretty easy to use. As with all multi effects pedals, some of the effects are very good, some are fair. Mostly there pretty decent for the price and small platform design. My only issue with it, that I was surprised hadnt already been addressed, is that it only has the ability to create one chain of multiple effect patches. For example, if you need a 3 effect patch for the verse, but maybe only a 1 effect patch for the chorus, and maybe an empty patch (that would be an effect bypass) for the solo, you would create a patch chain and just scroll through the individual patches to get what you need. But then youre done, youve used up the only patch chain. I probably have at least 8 songs a gig that requires this ability, but it only allows for 1 patch chain. Over all its a decent pedal, but this upgrade would make it much more usable.bb2335

Overall: I bought this as a simple and cheap solution to build a pedal board. I was looking to purchase a chorus, delay, reverb and was looking at over $300 to get them. I then had the issue of how I was going to step on 3 pedals every time a solo came up. I thought about something like a line6 pod or a boss multi effect pedal but those are massive and honestly, have much more than I need. I have no use for amp sims or distortions as I'm running this into the loop. I happened to come across this pedal on zZounds and figured for the price I would take a chance on it. I am so glad that I did. I'm running into the loop of a mesa boogie triple rectifier and am having no issues, even with the parallel loop. The pedal has input and output level controls as well as volume controls for each individual effect. It is very tweakable and has a massive range of available tones. The pedal is very easy to use, if you've ever used any form of digital modeling processor you'll be right at home. The 3 knobs also operate as buttons and then there are 4 buttons around the foot switch. Once you hit each button a couple of times you'll see how it all works and it's a breeze to get things set up. You can save many banks of settings and then either use 1 at a time as a typical on/off stompbox or you can set your presets in the order of your choice and then cycle through them with the foot switch. So, for example the way I run it I can either have a solo setting that adds reverb, delay, eq, and a little volume bump and turn the pedal on and off or I can have just an eq running, then use the button to flip between that and the solo channel if I choose to leave the pedal on all the time. It's very usable and convenient. Finally, I'll just mention a couple of tips. First off, read the manual. It's pretty short but very informative. If you're using multiple effects in a chain make sure you have a line selector as the first in the chain. I learned this one because if for example you have 3 effects on 1 patch and 1 of them is highlighted when you hit the button it will only turn off that effect and leave the other 2 on. If you add a line selector and make sure that it is displayed on the screen when you hit the button it kills the entire chain, so make sure you do that. Again, overall I'm very happy that I bought this. It does have a slight effect on the tone when engaged but for me it's acceptable. The effects sound absolutely fantastic and have tons of tweakability. You can really dial in your presenters and get exactly what you need. The eq effects are very effective and really shape your tone and when in the loop have a huge effect on your tone. There are a couple of HD effects in it as well which sound absolutely amazing. Give this thing a try you may just find what you've been looking for.P

From bedroom practice to stage show- the GT-1 will deliver the sounds you want. It's simple enough to find sounds for practicing musicians but also easy to get where you need on stage with a minimum of fuss. Like all these processors most of the factory patches are just extreme examples not meant to be used for real. More like demonstrators of specific effects cranked to 11. But you can modify these very easily to find something you can actually use. You can also plug into a laptop and download other people's patches which are much better than factory. Dialing in your own sound is easy. Three knobs offer a 'easy button' way to shape sounds and change effects while you can dig much deeper if you are more advanced with the buttons below that. You can even alter the chain of effects and where they fall like setting up a traditional pedal board. I got great blues tones, solid OD crunch, and high gain metal notes just by fooling around with preset patches. It's a hobby unto itself just finding great sounds with this unit. It has a tuner but no drum loops, which is my only real complaint. The display is small on stage, but it's bright and easy to see when it's dark. Most of the features of more expensive units, small size and sleek design, and lots of amp and cab models alongwith all the effects you'll ever really need. I bought this because I already use the GT-1B for bass and like that unit a lot too.thesollylama

Are you an amateur/hobbyist bass player? Do you rarely, if ever, play in front of an audience? Do you get bored with the tones from your bass rig? Would you prefer to not disturb your neighbors when you play? Then consider getting one of these! There is so much fun packed in to this little box it would take way too much time to explain. You could start by running through the 99 presets using headphones, and maybe try playing along with a tune that fits with a modeled genre. You won't like them all for sure, but you're bound to like some of them. Then check out all the other features – and there are a lot of them. Just remember, GC has an excellent return policy. So if you don't like the GT-1B, simply return it!Patrick

I needed a new compact stage preamp to feed the PA in my big church and have control over what I sound in my in-ears before it gets to the PA. The unit offers a lot for the money and is a ton of fun. The really cool: ——————– – it's super compact. It fits in the larger pocket of a gig bag – Using rechargeable batteries, lasting several hours – 100 sounds of which I use only a few live, but am having tons of fun at home with many of them – with Tone Central it is easy to program. I put my top 10 sounds at position 1-10. You can modify and rename any of the sounds very easily with a computer. The not so cool: ——————— – My biggest disappointment is that the AUX-In feeds into the signal out. I wished it was programmable to just stay in the headphones like an Eden amp or the old Pandora boxes. That way I could use the PA feed into the unit and use my in-ears to perfectly blend the PA sound and my bass sound. – Patch modification on the unit is not fun at all. Need a computer and then it's a breeze. – No blutetooth App to modify patches on the fly. I suppose the kept the costs down. No big deal. Would be nice though. – Stomping through the patches is sequential. Many people here said they don't like that. To me it's not a big deal as I program all my favorite patches in the first 10 positions. So the scrolling is quick. – Had to buy a power adapter. Boss' is very expensive. Luckily found a good one for $15. Again, cost cutting on their end.Humble servant

I've got both the GT-1 and the GT-1B units and they are so different. I don't know why, but I find the bass unit much easier to use. The effects shapes that you want are so much easier to dial in. Maybe it's something to do with the distortion types that each unit tries to emulate – you get loads on the GT-1 and only a few on the GT-1B. And the amp emulations too – you get maybe 1/2 – 2/3 on the bass unit. What I would say is that it is well worth spending some time doing a deep-dive of the sounds you can get out of this unit. There's not much help here, you will have to grind to get the sound you want, but it probably will be there somewhere. The Boss Tone sounds lab will only get you so far and there really aren't any shortcuts that I've found to the sort of tone I want for any specific patch. It's worth spending the time noodling around with the unit and at least you can set up a load of blank presets by whatever category you want (I set up amp emulators in 10-set batches). Would I buy it again? Yep, absolutely. If you asked me that about the GT-1, I might not be so sure.Cat F.

The BOSS GT-1B is a really great piece of kit. Was obsessing with synth pedals but couldn't decide which one and then would require an expression pedal etc. The Boss SY-1 doesn't offer presets. I'm pleased with the GT-1B – many many possibilities for designing patches, built in expression pedal & 99 presets. Loads of PROS – Great value. The potential options for combining effects is vast. The build is great, knobs & buttons work easily. I dont use it as a standalone but combine with some analogue pedals, which is a good set up. Still saves plenty of space on pedalboard. CONS – you have to put some graft to get familiar with the software and best usage. There are instructions for the basic operation, using the buttons/dials on the unit but to get the full hang of the software for assigning parameters within patches, BOSS do not supply much info. There are some useful vids online though and chat on talkbass etc – Octave fx doesn't always track brilliantly. Is OK and perfectly usable, but not long sustain. – The Synth fx can be a bit OTT & erratic, if up too high. But great synth type sounds achieved with combining envelope, fuzz, octave, wave etc I haven't used any other effects processor so can't directly compare, but the unit has more than surpassed my main reasons for buying it. I got this pedal to add a distortion unit with midi functionality to my board and this doesn’t disappoint. Drive + Parametric EQ and with tons of different distortion types. Yes please. It can be routed numerous ways (my favorite being Mono effect plus dry through) and having this, or any source audio pedal to the board elevates your sound!!Matt R

This thing is very transparent without effects which makes it nice to just keep in the chain and make use of the tuner and pedal. And when effects are needed there are a lot of very good sounding ones to choose from and tweak. I dialed in a very good rendition of fretless sound for Pink Floyd "Hey You"…and an unexpected surprise was a setting to actually play the talk box solo from "Rocky Mountain Way" on my bass with no need for a physical talk box!. Very cool. A little bit of learning curve, but if you take the time to go through the manual it does a good job accelerating you to patch creating wizardry. My favorite feature is the ability not only set individual levels of each effect in each patch, but also the ability to tweak the levels of all these and re-save the patch on stage very quickly when you hear certain other band members decide to crank their amps up without notice!mwdguitar

Overall: I've had this pedal for a couple of years. I originally bought it for practice but I've been gradually replacing my pedalboard with it mostly because of three reasons:1. The compressor and limiter simulations are top notch. 2. The reverbs and delays are as good as any I've used before. 3. The Ampeg SVT simulation is something that I keep going to.As a bass player I only need very few effects and a good compressor. The rest of my sound comes mostly from the type of bass I use and my fingers.This pedal is perfect for all your effect needs. I'm surprised that more players don't use this pedal. I just tested all 100 presets {00-99} and I found many usable sounds from this pedal. I will probably just make slight changes to some of the presets before I record. This pedal is built pretty well… sturdy. The Wah sounds are fun to play, some are wild and out of control. I found at least 1 usable sound in all genres!! This box is compact, portable and powerful. There are many preset effects, of which all are tweak-able. You also have a place to copy effects to and save as a hot list of effects. This pedal Is quite a bit bigger that it looks sound wise anyway. Lots of tones. Takes 4 AA's can't really say I liked that much. The battery case is fixed to the bottom panel. So a person needs to be careful when changing them. There is 2 real flimsy wires that come back off and attach to the PCB side of the box. It wouldn't take much force at all to rip them off. The wait of the 4 AA's would do it just fine. I don't use the batteries and keep is screwed shut and use a power cord. Nothing to really worry about doing that. The rest of unit itself is tough though the sids are plastic. It gets it far share of use and still works grate not to mention its one of my favorites right now. I just grab it and go. I don't have to lug the rest of the pedals. If you stay ready you don't got to get ready.codemandeluxe

I just got it, I'm learning the bass, chose this for my first pedal so far the good stuff they say is on point. That being said I was disappointed with the battery set up. It takes a screwdriver, there is 4 screws the batteries are mounted under the bottom plate with small short thin wires going to the main unit

This actually had me in tears when I first used it. Funk 1, #69, gain all the way up, you are welcome. Hilarious. This pedal does exactly what it claims to do. Crossover feature keeps your low end clean and defined while the top end shimmers with the chorus effect. The ability to blend the effect is excellent. Build quality on this pedal is great, tone control is super. Paired up with a big muff bass pi and you've got a great sound. The crossover switch is a great addition but not one I use as I'm running a clean amp and a dirty one, so the more effects the better on the latter! Worth noting, there's no battery. This probably won't be a problem as if you are considering it you probably have a power bank or some other wired power already. Whenever I turn on this pedal, distortion or not it sounds like someone just woke up a beehive, The actual clean sound is pretty good but when you really dig into the pups it starts to make that pop sound louder which is a big issue for me at least, (shouldn't be due to volume increase) when the distortion is on, there's even more buzz AND it's a very bad distortion. The distortion also doesn't have a wide range of sounds and is only really usable at minimum gain and the blend knob almost all the way back, just get an OD , and an EQ pedal, trust me.Undisclosed

I typically run a clean bass signal with no effects (except for a compressor pedal). I purchased this pedal because of the DI, Equalizer control, Distortion (as needed) and 9v operation. (1) The DI sounds pretty good and records clean. (2) The Equalizer control is a little too sensitive for my taste, but it does shape the sound as expected. I feel that a +/- 12db 4-band Equalizer would have been better with frequency bands of 80Hz, 360Hz, 800Hz and 5kHz. (3) The Distortion is pretty good and fits the bill when needed. Like most distortion pedals, it is slightly thin when "on". But this pedal can balance a clean (low) and distorted tone for a good balance. (4) The pedal operates on the same 9v supply/polarity that virtually all other pedals operate on (center negative). I find this convenient when operating all pedals on my Big Joe Lithium Power Supply. In summary I'm happy with my purchase and it resides in my set-up all of the time.SLoveland

I was recommended this bass preamp almost 20 years ago. I've been through a TON of boutique equipment since then, trying to find 'my sound' and figured..what the heck, let me give this pedal a try. It makes EVERYTHING sound better! If you play on other peoples rigs from time to time, bring this!!! You'll be so much happier you did! You can find 'your sound' on almost any rig with this little guy. I'm a gear snob, I like 'my sound', which is clear, clean, and with a little bit of tube breakup while grinding in on my jazz. My sound is a cross between Flea and Marcus Miller. My boutique equipment gives me this on its own. When I'm forced to play a Behringer single 15" cab with no tweeter and no usable EQ because its the backline, the Sans Amp will be definitely utilized that night! Do yourself a favor and grab one of these pedals! Even if you keep it in you bag as a backup DI. It's like having a preamp and/or a DI at your disposal in case you needed to go straight to the house.DT

Bought this to see about going straight to p.a. And monitor. Initial impressions very good. Even with tone controls flat it seems to improve the sound compared to going straight into the desk. More depth and detail? Not sure if they’re the right words but they’ll have to do! It now sits at the end of the line on my tiny pedal board. Here's why I love this thing. First, I prefer passive basses. Second, when gigging I need fast access to three basic tone signatures — a mid-boosted one for a balanced mix with the band, a bottom-heavy grindy one for heavy lifting, and a scooped one for funk and solos. Program those in, and good to go, with the option to tweak them a bit for conditions without permanently altering the setting. Third, after years of lugging heavy, bulky head units I now feed the Sansamp into a 1000W ultralite power amp and have all the headroom I need, without the pain. Fourth, whenever I meet a new sound man at gigs the first thing I hear is "Sweet, a Sansamp DI." Fifth, hand-built like a tank in NYC. I'm sure I can list more, but you get the idea. I've been using it for three years now and won't ever go back to onboard preamps, either on the bass or on the head unit.Casey Ess

As a bass player in a covers band, different tones and effects at needed for different artists. Really great fun researching a players sound and putting the effects into a patch. I found it easiest to hook up to a laptop using the free software, lining up all the effects, labelling it and adjusting some parameters. Then playing and rehearsing to adjust the sounds by ear. I got some great chorus sound for Guns n Roses, a decent Motrhead sound, and even some tricky Muse effects. I purchased the Zoom B3n from MusiciansFriend when they showed up back in stock recently. I hoping that the 2.0 firmware upgrade from 2 months ago would be applied to current shipments of the product, but I received the B3n with 1.0 firmware. It was easy to install the device driver (although time patience is key), and the firmware upgrade went smoothly. The unit's basic sound performance seemed like an improvement from the base firmware, and more effects were included with the new firmware. I was also pleasantly surprised that the patch manager software was a breeze to download and use (Win7). In order to have everything available from Zoom to date, you have to use the patch manager to install the patches that have been made available over the past year or so. Patches are .zptc files, so custom patches can be shared and dragged and dropped into the software, and then onto your B3n. You can also use the patch manager software to backup or restore your complete unit, and the editing is a breeze. Swapping patch locations to organize for convenience can also be done more sanely in the software. I now have over 100 effects from Zoom, and 96 patches, all from Zoom, compared to the almost 70 effects and 75 patches initially received. I don't see myself needing to custom design that many patches, so having 150 available patch slots with up to 7 effects chained is great for me. I think Zoom did a great job considering the price point, but there is a learning curve, and you will spend several hours getting it together, so caveat emptor for sure! The snags are (1) the USB connector was a Micro-B, so luckily my son had a cable from his Samsung phone. Most equipment I have uses USB Mini-B. (2) The output impedance is 10K, so an output buffer may be necessary when inputting into lower impedances to avoid 'sound' changes from the B3n. (3) The 6 available pedal effects won't be accessible on the B3n unless you plug in and configure the Zoom Exp pedal. (4) HW/SW Learning Curve!StringBender

To use a fine old term 'bang for the buck' this is definitely it. If one understands how these work this one delivers the goods. I am easily able to get the full envelope range using a stock Strat. It would improve the performance, however, if the envelope sensing favored the bottom strings a little more which would even out the overall response. Otherwise dynamite! Maestrohealymaestrohealy

I was expecting to have a cool funky sound for my bass rig… But no way, I haven't found any saturation with this pedal at all. Just pass on this pedal and save your time and money. I will be returning the pedal.1978circa3-9

This pedal is cool but kind of strange. The overall effect is very mild through clean instruments but is very noticable with distortion. It boosts your signal a bit which will cut your volume if you switch it off in the middle of a song. The white knob does reshape your mid range tone which can either add an extra layer to shape your eq or diminish your eq altogether. This knob always reshapes your tone in this manner regardless of what the other knobs are at. One major benefit to this is that it seems to polish your tone a bit. The difference was extremely obvious when I tested this through my full bore pedal. This is worth having but it's more of a secondary effect pedal. If you need something to go with your distortion/reverb pedal combo and don't want something generic, this is a good choice.gei_57

Sounds great and is really small, so handy for folks with busier pedal boards. Also overdrive and fuzz in one unit. Nice features too with the ability to blend in clean tone over the overdrive – so you dont loose too much clarity and bottom end. Perfect for bassists like me!Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
