I love the rumble they give, at 250w rms means I can run the setup I like (under-500w system) and the price doesnt hurt either. I run a 0.5 sealed box, a Precision Power PPI i520.4 (260w x 2 bridged), and a Alpine CDE-143BT. Im looking towards Infinity 5.25 top-of-line components.Anonymous

I bought my son a used car and the previous owner left his amp (he took the sub). I just wanted a inexpensive sub to complete the system, and I couldnt be happier.First, its Alpine! There is no bigger name in car audio than Alpine. Obviously this is their entry level sub, but Alpine makes great stuff, and this sub is no expectation. Second, it was like $50! After using a discount code, I was able to get this sub and a sealed enclosure delivered to my door for less than $80.Third, its one cool looking sub. The big retro style dust cap with the BASS logo looks awesome!Last…. but not least, it sounds great. Adding this sub in a sealed enclosure installed in the trunk of a Civic Coupe, really fills in the low frequencies and completes the sound.For reference, my personal vehicle has JL Audio components speakers (front and rear), a 10 JL Audio 10W0v3 sub, and Zapco amps. It sounds incredible, and IMO this Alpine sub sounds just as good as my JL for 1/2 the price.Russell

These hit great. They sound great when I�m bumpin and they also sound great when jamming to rock. I have 2 in a down firing sealed box that fit under the backseat of my Silverado crew cab. Matched them with a Rockford Fosgate rx5001d at 2ohms. Love them.Anonymous

So much bass for a shallow mount sub that I feel I could compete and I only have one. It's in my 2016 f150 supercrew and it was so perfect for my setup so if you don't like deep strong bass then this isn't for youchunkyblueblue

This is great for cabinets with four or more speakers. With 32 ohms wiring four in parallel bring it to a eight ohm load. Just do not use a keyboard dropped below rated feq. of about 57hz. This speakers can handle high spl's.Waldens Audio - 31934

Perfect replacement speaker for my classic 1975 Ampeg SVT 8×10 cabinet. Same size, same weight and better baffle than original (none) as it's front loaded. Works sweet for my wall of sound.MarkB

Lets start with the good news: JBL your subs are usually pretty ugly but this one looks amazing. Since i got it for a steal at ~$190 amazon new, i thought i was getting an amazing deal since its jbl… but its pretty quiet. you dont hear anything until you turn the dial to 65% on the sub and +10db on my yamaha avr. I hear this a problem with sealed subs (has no port). I will never buy a sealed 10 inch again. The WORST part is at moderate volumes the cone/surround cant handle it. The cone starts making this annoying sound seemingly hitting something inside the cabinet repeatedly. i sent it out to be repaired through JBL and they put in a new cone, but sadly made no difference. This warranty process wasnt a huge hassle, thanks JBL. The surround does seem way too thin for a MSRP 600 sub, but it seems i got what i paid for at 190. disclaimer: it is my first jbl speaker my sys: pioneer vsx-1131, polk tsx550t, polk psw505 sys2: yamaha v581, polk monitor 60 II, klipsch 10in down i tried this sub on both receivers.danL

Great sounding except with certain frequencies the grill rattles in its peg holes, perhaps also the driver's a tad weak for optimal 500 watt output -features are nice, great sensitive crossover potentiometer and level pot, but the toggles for phase and connection types are teeny for such an 88-lb unit. The Harman guy whom i called didn't recommend or even give a hint that it would come with only a single RCA cable, not the minijack to stereo RCA -which is what i needed, but I sourced one pretty easily. The grill should snap in, the toggles should be beefier, but other than those flaws, sounds every bit as good as much more expensive units.Milkmoon

This is a sub with solid output and covers the bottom end most speakers cannot handle. Very heavy, well made cabinet and simple to understand controls that work as they should. There are no subs anywhere near this price made entirely of inch MDF, not to mention a cast frame driver with a magnet and super heavy duty motor. The rubber surrounds maintain their flexibility better than foam and last decades. The auto standby feature is great and works perfect. Kickdrums sound really good and you can feel it in your chest. I got a pair of these and put one in each corner. They blend easily with my tower speakers and provide all the bass I need with the gain level set at just under half. The sale price they are the best value anywhere and I may get a second pair if they go on sale again for my other system. These subs look and sound like they cost three times more than they do.MUSIC SUB GUY

Built a new Tweed Cabinet for my Epiphone Valve Junior, and changed out the 8" to a 10" Celestion. Much more range, obviously, but a little less power as the 5 watt amp is pushing more coil. I would have gotten an Alnico 10 with lower wattage, but the prices on those are out of the park for me. With the new Celestion, however, the amp handles pedals much better. As the new speaker breaks in, this will only improve.Mark O Matic

Received my new speaker, first allowed it to get warm temperature wise. Shipping in North Dakota can get items a little cold. Then installed, and even before this speaker has had time to be properly broken in. It instantly brought a new life to a fairly new amp. A Peavey VYPYR VIP-1. The Peavey original speaker was just an eight inch speaker. I can only believe that as the new speaker is slowly broken in. The quality will continue to be rich, and a full range of tones. I even ran some bass notes thru it. There was a great improvement here too. The over all quality of a small home amp, has been greatly improved.rh_493

Very happy with this choice for my First DIY amp, which is currently a 5W FootNote plate, a pine bee box, 3-ply poplar shelving front. This speaker sounds a lot better than I expected for the price. Comparing with the PEAVY VYPRR VIP1 modeling amp next to it, (also parts express) the clean tone is amazing.. like – the other amp is abandoned until I need fuzz again. I was startled by how detailed, musical, and dynamic it sounded direct from the guitar. Next time I get a chance to build a higher power amp, I'll check out some other celestions. I am really at a loss after having this sub for maybe 3 months and hardly any use, all of the sudden out of nowhere just sounds horrible like its blown or a short. Anyone else have any problems with the 8in sub? I usually have no quarrel with Rockville equipment as a whole, its affordable great sounding speakers and units. So glad I got the warranty with it.. It gives boom. If that is all you want and REALLY all you want, simply low frequency vibration to add to, say, a pair of bookshelf speakers, than this is for you. If you give even the slightest bit of attention to sound quality, this is not the sub for you. I bought this sub for two reasons – one, it was $115. Two, it had a frequency response down to 20hz, which is nuts for a 10" EXTREMELY budget subwoofer. While it does crank out 20hz frequencies, they are not as loud as say, its 40-60 hz frequencies. Also, this is the main reason I returned this sub: the distortion is through the roof. If you use a frequency slider and slide down the spectrum, it sounds great. Large, loud boom that more than shakes the room even on small volumes. You'd think, wow! I'd love to play some music with that amount of boom! Yeah, slight problem… It sounds pretty bad when you do. The bass is muddy, wobbly, and gives off that nasty distorted sound as soon as multiple frequencies are played through the speaker. I have read reviews that say it is because Rockville used the same port size as the Rock Shaker 8" on the 10" version, and that causes the distortion. I cannot attest to this as I have not bought the 8", but I would say it sounds plausible. I have decided to keep my quite old 50w Sony woofer, as while it does not nearly by any means compare to the amount of boom this woofer gives, or give the amount of sub-50hz boom as this one does, it produces tight, clean bass unlike this Rockville. I hope that this was a silly mistake and that the Rock Shaker 8" really does sound better, and maybe one day I will give Rockville another chance (they have quite good reviews on car audio… something they sell more than two products in…). For now, please audiophiles like me and anyone who doesn't want distortion in their woofer, beware of this sub and maybe try the 8", I do wonder if it really is tighter and cleaner than this 10". I hope so. I was really excited to finally move on from my Sony, which has a nasty home-theater EQ which boosts the heck out of 60hz and lets everything else above or below it hush up, but this is quite the disappointment. Although, I will say that the SUB-OUT on the back of the Rockville does output a ***FLAT EQ*** that made my Sony sound much better, so if you're looking for a $115 subwoofer EQ neutralizer to make your low end bass sound better, well, this will do the trick, lol. However, that flat EQ did unveil some distortion as frequencies passed the 28hz response limit of the Sony… use this (in the most silly situation possible, as an EQ) only on subs that dip down to 20hz as well… but most of them have flat EQs anyway, possibly disregard this last paragraph, oh well it's there. Goodbye, hopefully Rockville fixes that port and until then no one buys this sub unless they desire distortion… please go buy the 8".Carlos

Like every other 'cheap' subwoofer I have ever heard it comes to no surprise that it 'hums'. To correct that the volume has to be turned down to compensate. The 'auto off' works every now and then. On the plus side, it doesn't sound bad at all. I use it in my bedroom on the little set up I have in there. Overall, you get what you pay for. Build specs: .6 cuft w/passive radiator tuned to 30hz at 450w rms. Xover @ 80hz No bass boost. Details: This build is for a Miata. Which is tricky to make decent low bass in. Being the trunk not fully coupled to the cabin. And there's not much space. Polk dbs on a Rockford amp in the doors handle the punchy bass around 80hz really well. But generating good output below that, is where this sub came in. The design is targeting SQ over SPL. Modeling small sealed boxes, peaked to high with the woofer. Ported was really the way to go. However, port length became an issue. Which is how I ended up with the PR. The PR in use here is the Earthquake SLAPS 8 tunable PR. With an additional 160 grams of mass added. And a half pound of poly in the box. Design: carpeted, "bass tube" inspired design. With white trim around the baffles to match the vehicle. Baffles wider at the bottom for additional stability. Bottom mounted terminal for a clean look, with a groove for the wire to sit in. Results: Overall output is more than reasonable. Plenty of bass to be had. Kick drums punch hard, and hit high in the chest. Synth bass is well controlled and can get down below the seat, as if it's coming from the floor. Output at tuning is acceptable, followed by a very sharp drop off. But there is a strong cabin gain in the upper 40's. Despite not using the amps bass boost. The sub handles the amp well. With very little breakup up, only when pushed. For the price, with the end result I've experienced in this particular build. The tropo is tough to beat.N.P.

Meso 6.5s purchased for a pickup truck build. Currently have 4 installed in a 1.5cu enclosure tuned to 30hz. Used the recommend port volume. Subs play clean and low down to 30hz at 130db. Currently running a taramps md3k. The subs take the abuse I throw at them and stay in control even on a budget quality amplifier. If these subs hold up and take the punishment of daily use I will be buying more for my suv. As well as 2 more for the pick up. Great products at a great price. Thanks ct sounds.Bassmekanik

if this is your price range and sound quality is a must don't hesitate. I've never had a skar but I was torn between this or the svr and I think this I made the right choice. Definitely likes to be inverted but response is much more profound in a very narrow hz range. They take clipped power at 800 plus watts for up to 5 minutes and I just smell the coil getting hot moderately. This was done accidentally of course my stock alt couldn't support rp1500.1 power thirst. It's definitely stout can't wait to build a custom enclosure but 1.5 cubes seems too small when it sounded louder and cleaner down low inverted in a 2 cube prefab at 36 hz tune. But idk definitely best I've owned will see how long it lastsP.w.

Ds18 Genx subwoofers, the 10 inch dual voice coil pair, are pleasantly far better than the photos reveal. They are heavy duty, and they are compact as can be while still delivering a knockout. The mounting depth is great, and the push terminals are of good quality. You can tell when you unbox them, they are far better than the proce point suggests I wish I had gotten two Genx 15.4 d subs to go with them, after seeing the capacities of these tens. And the red is identical to the Elite Z-+5.4 d sub I gotchlu-4034

This is the same as the JBL club 10shallow mount. I wanted the infinity name on it. You cant go wrong with this sub. It sounds amazing in a .51ci box. If you tight on space just get it. You know you want it.Hump

I have 2 of these in a 1.0 cu ft box in the back of my truck. For the money I am more than satisfied. I have 300w rms going to each one and they just keep suprising me everytime I turn it up. I pared these with the Infinity Kappa Perfect 600s…the detail and clarity is just amazing. Definitely worth a look if you have a space restricted install and want good bang for the buck.CW

I have this installed in a custom sealed 0.5 cubic foot box behind the seat of my F150. I'm using an Alpine mono sub amp to power it. It really fills in the lows that my infinity door speaks can't hit.JamesV

I had boss phantom 12's in my 03 chevy extended cab under the back seat. Well I got a 06 f150 crew cab and instead,of severely modifying the back seat I got 2 chaos 10s and built my own,box and they fit under the back seat with out any modification to the seat. They hit almost as hard or as hard as the 12 phantom. I'm running them on the boss armor 1600 amp at 2 ohms.Arthur M.

I paid 435 dollars for a very bad product, after 3 days one of them stopped working, I returned the product and a few days later one of them burned. I do not recommend them at all.Perfect

Disappointing feature first: online and on the box, it says, steel basket. Well…it's a first for me, but it is actually made of plastic. Yikes. Not a deal breaker, just a bit disappointing. Now the good news: This is an amazing little driver! Not a shallow one at 4.7" depth, but makes up for it in that it performs well in a 1/2 cubic foot box. Paired with a Lanzar 1000 watt amp (125w a side into the dual 4ohm voice coils on this woofer), this little guy really pumps hard! As a speaker builder most of my 54 years, this is all I needed inside extended cab pickup. Still not "burned in", but delivering way more pounding than I needed, as I'm simply in it for fidelity, not shattering windows. Made a small box, mounted on transmission hump in front cab of pickup. What an awesome way to bring full fidelity into an auto. At this price, you just cannot go wrong. Awesome bang for your buck.Jeff

This woofer does surprisingly well considering the price. First thing first – I used to sell (very high end) stereo equipment. I still collect some. This was for an economical build for a friend. Let's be clear – this is no JL or Alpine killer. This is Pyle. Pyle makes inexpensive audio equipment. That said – dollar for dollar performance – they are hard to beat! If you are looking to do any sort of a budget install you will be pleasantly surprised at the output of one of these under rated woofers. I would not hesitate to install these in a system for anyone who enjoys music but is not a brand snob.iamtopbid

I recently got this little sub and got it hooked up in bedroom. This is running off a 2.1 little Bluetooth board getting no more then 100w. Made a box at 1.4 ft3 with no fill and have it slot ported at 10.5 w x 1.5 h x 18 L. Its only been played for about 3 to 4 hours worth but I'll tell you I'm very happy with its performance. At the 100w or less it plays quite well and the bass response is laughably happy. I'm used to paying 200 plus for most sub ive purchased in my life and paying little over 20 bucks for this little guy is awesome. I couldnt imagine it handling more then 150w without coming apart but its happy at 100w.nate

I tried the kicker sub with a built in amp before this one because I assumed it was almost double in price and the brand that it would be better. It wasn’t; was more difficult to set up had to buy a rca adapter and you had to change the setting for every song bc what sounded good for one didn’t on the next. It only lasted a week because I unplugged the remote while it was on which I seen was in tiny writing not to do in the directions after it was shot. So I got this one and I’m amazed at how good it sounds. 1,000 times better. I planned for it to be temporary til I could afford to get a better system but I’m just fine with this. I bought a second one to add to it but it was too much for me just fine with one. It was much easier to set up and no adapters needed. I’ve had it for a little over two months so far and no signs of crapn’ out. Never overheated or protect mode either. Get it it’s worth the 100 for sure.OverIT

Don’t waste your money on this thing. It will go out!!! Had it for about 8 months installed and first of all, over heats so it shuts off every 5 minutes or so. Second, the speaker coil blew so now it sounds terrible. Unfortunately I didn’t keep the receipt and Dual says they don’t make that model so I can’t even buy a replacement for it. Please don’t waste your money. Spend a few bucks more to get something better.Rich

When you take into account the price this is a terrific product. If you’re looking to just add some thump to your songs and not the bank I recommend. I don’t care enough about good bass to spend a lot so this dual product was perfect. Thanks to the company for making a budget item that actually works. And. It saves you the time building a box for it as well. If you rate this sun low then you’re expectations are too high for what you are paying. I’m sure dual could make you a competition level one if they wanted to but for people like me who just want a little more thump than stereo speakers this perfect. I did not have high hopes for this speaker when I purchased it. I am happy to say that this speaker has definitely exceeded my expectations. The box says that the battery has 6 hours of run time. Over the past 3 days I feel like I have used it for more than 6 hours, and at a fairly high volume. It is showing no signs of the battery being anywhere close to dead so far. The lights are a neat added feature that I also enjoy. The sound quality is also pretty decent. There's enough options for changing and tweaking the sound quality to the type of music that you're listening to that it would be nearly impossible to complain about the sound quality. It doesn't bump incredibly hard. But for the price it still gives off plenty of volume and kick. My only critique would be in the microphone. The microphone does not seem to be very good quality. Other than that I am a 100% satisfied customer thus far. Great product for the moneyskylposp

This is such a great sound machine. I highly recommend to my friends all the time. It's so versatile, allowing blue tooth input from your phone or laptop. It also allows you to connect a USB-A to USB-A from your laptop to the sound machine if you don't have a Bluetooth capable laptop. I love this machine and the mics are very good but as with many things you can upgrade them with better. My bottom line is that all my karaoke friends love it and want one. The warranty is great and customer service has been wonderful. I read reviews too and they convinced me to buy. I'm so glad I did and bought one for my girlfriend for Xmas.ROBERT

I really liked this speaker in the beginning. The sound was good (not great) and the price was reasonable. But less than a year later it showed an error message for the battery and then stopped working completely. So I bought new battery and installed it which requires taking the face off, removing the bottom speaker, removing the old battery and soldering in the new one. It worked fine again for about a month or so when the same error message came up and it quit again. So I’ll be buying a new one but definitely not this brand.Billy

These are a great bang for the buck sub and they sound and hit pretty clean. For the price you really can’t go wrong. Have 2 of these in the trunk of my bmw, if anyone knows bmw they know the trunks are pretty well sealed from the cab. They would probably be louder in an suv or some type of hatch back but I’m not complaining. I use to be a big bass head but with age I tend to focus my money towards higher end equipment. That being said I’m running all alpine amps, hertz audio Mille pro 3 ways, a pioneer nex head unit, and a pair of these in a pre fab box and I think the whole setup sounds great.King F.

So far on day 1, this subwoofer performs amazingly well. Only complaint I have is the rubber vanity ring that covers/guides installation screws. Holes didnt lineup the best to mount the woofer. Other than that it sounds great and has a lot of thump to it for a shallow mount 10. Im giving it every bit of its 500w rms power handling and its taking it so far. Ive blown my Sundown Audio SD-3 10D2 for the second time. So decided to buy this SKAR shallow mount to temporarily replace it while my Sundown is getting fixed.thebigsqueeze324

Amazing performance 10W3v3-4 ! Paired w/ RD 900/5 in a slot ported double 10 box 1.1cu.ft per driver? . I’m hearing no feeling bass extensions to the lowest octave BUT with clarity and weight.I’ve owned JL Audio gear before never disappoints. The W3v3 are not cheap but you get what you pay for. Years ago my SUV ran triple 12W3 dual 2ohms on a O.G. 1000 slash 1. It’s was incredible!! Except for the disturbing the peace tickets from LAPD. I could set off every car alarm in mall parking lot. Lol. Now I’m an old guy I can appreciate a S.Q. Sub I enjoy these windows up .its better than a recording studio. Installed 2 of these last night in my girls FRS paired with JL Slash 500, a 3F cap & JL Bass knob. It was a surprise, I said let's take a ride.. With the bass knob all the way down she was heels over head 🙂 . So I handed her the bass knob(still seeking location, also a must have) and we were both eyes closed, head bobbing with a nice back massage. The set up is very impressive for 2 10's they pound very hard and they are not tuned to the max. Can't speak for every1 but in a go kart sized car like this these are plenty. We set this sub woofer up as a sealed box, though instructions are provided for size and design for both ported and sealed. It is hooked to a older 300 watt RMS Rockford Punch amp. Sound quality is very good. The cone and surround are excellent quality. I've got another P2 that is several years old and continues to provide great sound without evidence of the surround failing. The older unit (not purchased from this seller) did eventually require the flexible lead from the amp hook on the speaker going to the internal windings to be repaired via solder after years of severe use. I would say it's not a design fault, just something that I'd consider maintenance. With regard to sound quality, this unit seems very responsive to various frequencies and filter settings from the amp.colldo3
