Reviews:
I purchased this pile pca2 solely on the recommendations and reviews of people who have already purchased this. well they did not let me down very small unit very powerful. the price was great and the sound is even better. very easy setup and comes with a great warranty. I use mine to push my surround sound speakers give him a little extra power it works great! I would definitely recommend this as a great buy!Michael
First off…this amp ROCKS!!!. I didn't expect the FM RADIO. It works perfectly for my small recording Studio. I play guitar and sing, so it is hooked up to a Yamaha 12 channel mixer and Polk bookshelf speakers…no problem at all. Of course I'm not playing loud like I did in the band with 3000 watts a side…but Hey it works very well.Keith

Product Details:
Can you imagine a 170 watt amplifier that you could mount right onto your pedalboard? that’s right: an amplifier right on your pedal board – plug your last pedal into the input of the powerstage 170 and the output right into a cabinet and you’re ready to play! a total gamechanger for those who get gain tones from pedals or amp modelers and want to fly or travel to the show with minimal baggage. this is a 170-watt power amp with a beautiful clean preamp section and 3-band global eq, making it the perfect complement to pedalboards and digital modeling devices. it is small enough to fit directly on a pedalboard or in any gig bag, lightweight enough for fly dates and attractive enough to look great at a church or coffeehouse gig, in a home office or in a dorm room. the powerstage 170 will give you reliable, musical power on every gig, eliminating the uncertainty that backline amps can bring. simply bring your guitar and your pedalboard and get your tone through whatever cab is provided. the 170’s intuitive 3-band analog eq allows for quickly fine-tuning your sound for any cabinet and any venue—no need to wrestle with the cumbersome and ineffective eqs on digital gear or modify your stompbox settings. everything you need is right there. you can even adjust the big master volume knob with your foot, boosting solos and controlling dynamics in real time.

Reviews:
I like tube amps. That’s a fact. I’m too old to change my mind. No one is ever going to make a solid state amp that I’m going to enjoy as much as a tube amp. That being said, I like this amp too. It’s not going to replace a black face fender or $3000 boutique build. But it is great to have around for an impromptu jam or small club show. I keep it on a pedal board with a few dirt boxes, some modulation pedals, and a e.q. I can get a pretty great tone from it with the right settings. Plus I’ve got a 1 year old that takes a lot of naps, and this thing gets real quiet. I plug it into a 1×15 can and noodle around at home or with friends and it does the trick, especially if you put a little reverb and low gain o.d. In front of it. Is it worth $400? To me yes. It’s a small solid state amp with superb cleans and does what it’s suppose to do well. But I’ve also got tube amps for a more harmonically rich tone. I wouldn’t buy it as my main amp, but for small gigs and ease of use it’s a total winnerNik
Honestly thought I was settling with this guy and assumed I’d be returning it for something with more power. Boy was I wrong. This little dude powers my orange PPC412 with zero issues and is super loud. I’m currently using the helix stomp as my live rig to the powerstage and right to the cab. I’ve got the volume set not even at 20% and it can be heard over another guitarist, bassist and drummer. 10/10 recommend this guy.David Scott.
So I got an idea to build a fly rig basically everything I need in a pedal bag. I ordered the on-stage pedal bag from MF which is perfect heavy construction and and quality bag with just a few pedals and the right distortion pedal the power stage plugged directly into a cabinet 412 or 212 actually sounds so much better than my other amps. Because I like the power stage I am actually going to get a backup and sell my other amps because I don't need them anymore. What a great idea just a pedal bag and the guitar that's all you need I highly recommend the powerstage 170 I did research on other brands and decided to try this with the built-in 3-band EQ you can do some quick tweaking on the Fly for whatever room you are playing in. Honestly I don't write reviews but this pedal is such a game-changer I had to post one. So pick one up you won't regret it and check out the affordable on stage pedalboard with bag.Stevo179
3. Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700 Guitar Power Amp
Product Details:
I've happily used this powerstage 700 for months, and i still have the original box, rackmount wings, screws, attachable feet, docs, and sticker. you'll also get a power cord, so it's ready to go. i've moved this around my basement cabs, usually sitting it on top of one of the cabs. i haven't put on the feet or rack wings. it has seen no spills, no falls, no shocks, no gigs. the only significant pocks and scratches on the surface are on the bottom. my favorite thing about this is that it has two channels. two inputs match up to two outputs, and you can go out either speaker cable or xlr. i love to run stereo rigs for dry/wet and this let me do that easily. i'm strongly considering moving away from analog cabs into the world of modeling cabs, and if that's a hit, i won't need this piece of gear.

Reviews:
I bought this on a hunch cause I use a line 6 pod hd500x. I recently bought a evh 5153 50 watt tube head as my one and only. I had to use the 4cable method to achieve a proper signal chain while utilizing the pre and power tubes. It sounded good and I thought I was content until I took this home. All I can say is WOW. I am running it on the left channel into a orange 212c cab @ 16 ohm so I am pushing roughly 175 watts. I will put this up against the evh without question. It has a pristine clean at the loudest of volumes. Combined with my line 6 pod it's unstoppable. I am returning the evh as a result today.B.Wills
I bought this to power both a Mesa 2×10 and a Mesa 1×15 Bass cabinet ran in parallel. I run into an Ampeg Scrambler DI Pre-Amp then into the Power Stage 700 and then into the cabs, and I have to say it is plenty powerful! It is also so clean sounding. The guitarist in my Hard Rock band just loves the clean power I get from this rig and I do too! The knobs are simple and responsive, it feels well built and it is very clean and sleek looking. I know these are mainly built for guitarists that use a digital amp modeler, but I am digging it for Bass with the Ampeg Pre-Amp in front of it.CJ
If you use the Headrush, Helix or any multi effects pedals this is your answer. Does what it claims. no more 4 cable hook ups. I run a Headrush pedal board to the powerstage 700 thru a marshal 4×12 cab. Run the board straight in the amp, set my rig (patch) and crank it up. This amp doesn't color your tone. It allows your amp emulator / IR to do it's job, and at a pretty good price.Charles

Reviews:
It makes just enough difference (with my speakers) to completely (and nicely) fill our small living room area. The amplified signal is true and seems to cover the entire audio range (for classical music) quite well. Nice bright red light tells me I forgot to turn it off; helpful. Came quickly. Priced well. That's all, folks.
Works perfectly with laptop and 2 boxes of Sony stereo system. It's very simple and has just one control – volume, just what I need. Sound quality and stereo effects are very good. Output power is more then necessary for in-house usage, so practical volume control is 0.25-0.5 of available range.
A few weeks back, I sat in my office, sad and forlorn. Oh, I sighed, If only someone made a small, simple stereo amplifier for small, simple needs. (I'm easily depressed…) Lo and behold, some magic genie heard my plea and a quick search on the B&H website revealed the perfect solution – The Pyle Pro PCA1 Stereo Power Amp. Why is it perfect? It's small (the size of a nice deli sandwich.) It's capable (Fifteen clean watts a side into 4 ohms.) It's affordable (Close to 50% off MSRP from B&H online.) It's simple (Stereo RCA male plugs for line in, one ganged volume control, and L & R push-type outputs for speaker cables.) I hooked the PCA1 into my trusty (and a bit rusty) Minimus 7's, brought a stereo mini out from my Mac (using a separate audio adapter) and Voila! Music to my ears (literally…)Even when I pushed the tunes to 75%, the amp added nothing but gain (any more juice, and the missus would have me continuing the aural excitement in the garage.) No question – The Pyle Pro PCA1 amp is a great value at a low price. Let's face it – There are times when you don't need to use a bazooka on a housefly. And the Pyle Pro PCA1 is the perfect flyswatter for your audio houseflies.Tom

Reviews:
If you're expecting an amazing Marshall sound, you might want to invest in some of the bigger amps Marshall has to offer. If you think you can get a concert level sound out of this little guy, you will not be the happiest person. However, that level of "high" expectation would not be very reasonable or even realistic for such a little amp. This is a very cute, small amp that will help you plug your guitar so you can practice quietly in any room in your house without annoying your wife. It will distort if you crank the volume all the way out, and if you're used to the full sound of a bigger Marshall (like I do) it might make you feel like you're hearing your guitar over an old telephone (just my opinion). However, if you calibrate your instrument volume & tone you can find a happy medium. With that said, for the price it is a very nice solution to practice and if the sound seems too weak for you, you have the choice of putting headphones. I personally use it just for practice on the fly, it serves it purpose, but then again I was not expecting the best sound output. So I am happy with the purchase.BeeZee
It's basically a toy amp. I can see it being used as a portable amp for non-serious performance. Personally, I like it for a quick jam and for (relatively) quiet practice in my apartment setting. Won't disturb my neighbors but it does get noticeable at the highest volume. That and the overdrive knob are the two main controls. By default it just does a clean sound but overdrive lets you toggle in some gain for that distortion. It has a good look that definitely models after its bigger brothers.Rick
I don't know what some of you guys expect from this thing, but be realistic: it's an inexpensive 5 inch tall, 1 watt amp. It's not designed for anything but sitting in a chair and entertaining yourself or a couple of people. Within that context, I enjoy this thing and sometimes get it off the shelf and play around with it for awhile. Also, when I owed somebody a 1 minute long riff for his podcast and my main amp was getting some regular tech service, I plugged my American Standard Strat into this thing, mic'd the amp, used the OD channel with the volume and tone both on 10, played the part, then added tons of bass, reverb, and chorus to it in post, and it sounded great and nobody ever knew that I recorded the part using a 5 inch tall amp. It is what it is as long as you don't expect the world.Steve

I am returning it. Bought it to drive a new pair of Klipsch RM600's for a mini system. Even at what I would guess to be about 5 to 10 watts it was so distorted as to be unlistenable. Also the speaker terminal popped a spring. I still need a mini amp so I'm going to try a Dayton..charles
I use this to power my keyboard setup in my home studio. Use the 2 inputs for a Korg DW8000 and Ensoniq KS-32 put through a pair of 6-1/2 inch studio monitors. Satisfied with the sound quality of the PTA2. Recently got a Behringer Poly D synth, so I run that thru a Fender Princeton Chorus Amp.Dom
First point – the amp B&H shows is the older model of the PTA2 and what you actually receive is the newer version of the PTA2 with a remote. Picture attached. This is probably as inexpensive as you want to go and maintain some quality. Where this shines is if you want to use better stereo speakers with your TV. The other best use of this is for an office stereo/tv unit. I used this amp, a Roku box, a 13 Exuby TV ($150) and 2 Sony SS-B1000 speakers ($49) and it's a compact, inexpensive unit with great sound. I've read that the older PTA2 unit is a better built amp and the one I had (the older PTA2 model) was great for 11 years but then lost the right channel. So I ordered this one thinking I was getting that older PTA2 model but the newer model PTA2 showed up. So we'll see how it works. BTW, the price was real good (better than Amazon). I haven't dealt with B&H alot but I've never had a problem with them or their merchandise.Philip
7. Hughes & Kettner Ampman Modern
Product Details:
Specifications:
Weight | 4.5 lb |
Reviews:

Reviews:
This amp has a wide range of settings to dial in whatever sound you need for various types of guitars and pickups. I was a little disappointed in the volume limitation when plugging in my acoustics with passive pickups- they just didn't have any punch even with the dial turned up, but that was corrected somewhat with an XLR>RCA converter jack to boost the signal. Also the pre-amp in the effects box I have does the same thing. It produced great tone and presence on an electric 12 string, classical, and irish bouzouki which all have active pickups. What really impressed me was how it handles vocal and instrument together. No feedback and plenty of headroom. I'm glad I settled on this model to meet my needs rather than some of the others out there of the same capabilities. The looper is another fun feature that allows you to lay some percussive rhythm down to play along to, or a chord progression to build upon. Another plus is its small footprint and light weight for portability. I plan to be using it in small rooms where it fills the space without being over bearing. It is a perfect tool for solo performances, but would probably hold its own in a small group as well.super-perfundo
I am very pleased with this amplifier. It is very small, (like a large lunchbox) and light. 8 AA batteries can power this or you can use the included ac/dc inverter. After playing with the mic input and plugging my Taylor; its obvious that this is the easiest to use and best sounding acoustic amp I own. Subtle nuances in voice and guitar are replicated so clearly, I forget which part is already recorded on the looper and what is the live part I am playing! No kiddin, its that good! Speakin of the looper, that is probably the best practice feature of any piece of gear I own. Nothing fancy, and 40 seconds tops, but it is falling off a log ez and really does give you enough time to lay down a basic track. My guitar has never sounded so crisp and clean, ambience/chorus on both channels are very high quality! Don't let the size fool you, this isn't a toy, but I guarantee if you get one, you will wanna play for hours! Few pieces of gear have ever been such a pleasant surprise!wdc27909

I was looking for an amp to power two passive Wharfedale PA/monitor speakers, and needed a good mix of input and output connector options, front level controls, peak indicators etc. This amp had all that, along with good build quality (love the toroidal trannie) and excellent sound. Couldn't be happier. Delivery was quick and painless too.Simon T.

I've had my EP2000 for a few years now and it works as good as it did when i firts bought it. last saturday night it was dropped onto a cement floor as we were loading our stuff up. I was so impressed to find not a thing was bent and it worked just as good as it always did. its probobly the most road rugged thing I own!Dave-8I0Gp
Overall, great and produces a lot of power! It has all the features that I need. The fan works very well to keep it cool (a little loud though). Great features! I love it having so many different options of inputs/outputs. It also has many presents on back to get it to fit your personal need. Also like having adjustment knobs in front for easy acess and quick adjusting if needed. Great quality. Very loud with Behringer B215X Passive Speakers, I would recomment together. Great price for what you get!
Got one a few months ago to match the first one I bought in 2013. Powers my subs good, especially when the 2 subs are side by side. I got the second one after discovering that input 2 can be used as a signal output to another amp when in mono-bridge mode, saving me the need for another long cable or a Y-splitter. The 2 issues I've learned to overlook are the noisy fan due to it being at full speed when on, and the air filter is infront but the fan blows air from back to front, making the filter useless. After warranty, will likely take filters out to allow less cleaning of filter.jonthewhiteo

Wasn't sure about this little guy – – but the one I received was in pristine shape, with power brick and carry handle. I power it with 6 rechargeable AA Lithium batteries – and it'll run x 6 hours easy without recharging. I play an acoustic guitar (i installed a Fishman rare earth pickup) in a small orchestra with a piano, trumpets, trombones, saxophones, etc, and only need to run at about 35% max volume to blend in well with the group. The effects are great and well modeled. I'm very happy with this Roland – Highly Recommended.oxydoc
I've taken up giving lessons in my home and, in other locations and, dragging around even a moderate size amp was not in my plans. I did some shopping and, came up with the Micro Cube as my answer, WOW what a feature filled little powerhouse! I debated going to just a plain small practice amp but, after I tried one it reminded me of trying to play through an old transistor radio. Very bland boring sound and, only a push button to get an overdrive sound that sounded pretty bad. This Roland unit sounds Fantastic at 3w and, with only a 5" speaker, I don't know how they do it but, it's Great!! The convenience of battery power is something that I really enjoy also. Take it anywhere! The FX sound Super, amp models are a nice touch and, even a tuner. The 1/8" input is a nice touch to jam with backing tracks or any type of sounds. Taking this to lessons is sooo much more handier than a 30lb. amp. There is only a tone control but, it is really all you need to get the sound you want. The memory function is a handy feature so save preset sounds for each amp model. The only thing I haven't tried is to plug a Mic in and, check it out but, I definately will and, I'm betting that the results will be positive there also. I'm soooo glad I spent the extra dinero and, went with this amp. I'm very satisfied and, definately recommend this anyone looking for small portable amp for practice or any other reason to have a light weight amp that sounds really good. I don't think that I would run a bass through it but, at low volume I wouldn't be surprised that it could handle it. I play a lot of different instruments, fiddle, mandolin, ulelele and, harmonica and, going to try them all in this amp.terrygh
In general this is a great little amp. It is loud, but its frequency range is narrow. I would expect something so small to be weak on bass, but I am surprised at how poor the high frequency is. I have to turn the tone all the way up to make it sound like a regular amp. I will try different speakers and the line out into a different amp to see if the poor high end is either the speaker or amp. The headphone output sounds much better, so I believe the issue is not in the internal electronics. In general I would recommend this amp. So much that I am buying another to give to my son in college as a dorm amp. He is interested in the headphone feature, which sounds very good. As a practice amp this little thing does a great job. The effects are better on some settings than others. but I think there are more effects on this amp than other brands. The portability is great. The battery life it pretty good for how loud it is. With the line input you can not only play along to songs, unaffected by the guitar effects, but it turns your phone into a loud jam box. There is a lot of loud "bang for the buck" in the little amp.Dowacky

Reviews:
Behringer makes great stuff, I have the older model of this one (the EP2500) and over the years it has been a reliable amp. The power output is pretty descent, it isn't intended for really big systems, but for a couple of pole mounted speakers its perfect. I used it for a while in stereo mode, but bridging the channels really brings out some bigger sound. Its HEAVY!!! I guess thats typical but compared to my Crown amp that weighs about 11lbs its a beast. The back to front fan is a little noisier than others I've used, so using in a quiet room can be a little annoying. Otherwise when the music is playing its hardly noticeable. Funny thing is after buying this amp I was surprised to see that a lot of other people are using this amp as well.
I got the Behringer EP4000 to run a pair of Peavey PV 118's. It seems to be a perfect match. The Behringer has plenty of power to run those subs at maximum potential. With some left over if you really want to hear them scream. Looking forward to seeing if it can take the load of another pair of 18's. The EP4000's other nice feature is the selector switches on the back of the unit. They give you multiple options like low frequency filters, and limiters built in, but most importantly a selectable parallel input pass through in order to easily hook up mutiple units. (A feature slightly more expensive amps don't have.) Awesome stuff for an amp at this price level. The EP4000 is a tank. It's heavy, rugged, and seems well built. Another nice after thought is that the binding posts have a nice cover plate to protect them when using the Speakon connections. The only thing I'd upgrade on the unit is the gain knobs to a tighter more quality feel. (Also helps with accidental adjustment.) So for the price, I'd highly recommend the Behringer EP4000.Drummer of VERDICT

Great lightweight amp with plenty of power. Lots of options with DSP ( perhaps more than I will ever use – mainly use crossover to run subs) Did test strength with a accidental drop – survived with a bit of a dint on front. Older model had handles that would have protected from a similar drop and made it easier to place into a 2u hardcasestuart e.
Been after an affordable amp to power some specific 80hm 18inch bass drivers most amps don't put out over 1000rms at 8 ohm but I found this and switching from my hollywood 4000 impact amp to this I noticed the bass clarity immediately at low volume it was distinctive I've yet to try out the dsp features and x over but it's already looking hopefull sounds great straight out the boxcivic_vegar-1

I have had quite a few power amps with my AxeFx II and III and this one is the best. I also have the Fryette PS2 and it is great but only mono and takes up 2 rack spaces. I also still have Atomic 50/50 amp which I love and will never sell. However, it weighs a ton and is also 2 rack spaces. I have also owned the Matrix GT1000 on two separate occasions but sold it both times. It just felt flat compared to my other amps. The pros and these are big pros: -Form factor – no one makes a flat tube amp in a 1U version -stereo! -unbelievable build quality – steel is the highest quality I have seen -it has that spank and feel I miss with FRFR -cooling vent design allow flexibility for mounting in a rack -good tech support – Fryette quickly sent me a part for my PS2 well out of warranty at no charge even after I offered to pay. Cons -fan noise – not terrible but definitely louder than my other amps. For live or rehearsal it does not matter. Next to my studio monitors not so much -weight at 20 pounds definitely heavier than my PS2 and Matrix but manageable. If this gets stolen it will be immediately replaced.Greg
Always loved VHT/Fryette amps, and now that I am running Synergy rack gear, this was a no brainer. I get a full 100 watt tube head, with two rack spaces. Tone is clear and immense. Would absolutely recommend this for any modeler or preamp, for the most honest color of your tone.Greg
If you use a Kemper profiler , Helix, Fractal Audio Axe FX or any other pedal preamps etc this is what you’ll want to use power you speakers .. It literally says goodbye to the usually fizzy modeling sounds and brings thick tube articulations back into play .. What a great design and an even better sound ..Get the best of both worlds using a modeler for a preamp and tubes for the power section !!You won’t be sorry !!

Bought this from SamAsh White Plains. This amp is so versatile, I haven't even begun to figure out much of it's capabilities. There are plenty of preset sounds which already sound great. Don't let the 2 – 4" speakers fool you into thinking it is quiet. It is pretty loud for a medium sized room. Can't wait to get a 2 x 12" cabinet to pair with this. Summary – thinking of getting another one! Thanks Sam Ash.Jim
This amp is the swiss army knife of amp heads. A loud 240 watts chock full of effects and a built in digital wireless that's rechargeable. As an added bonus there's a couple of built-in speakers ideal for home practice. The pre-set sounds are totally useable without modification. Amazing value.DrJ
Open box item was missing cable and instructions. Called immediately and they mailed me a cable. Tested And found a lot of preamps missing and quite a few of the artist song effects and odd delay effects the amp would just cutout like a bad cable in the middle of song. Was really worried but the metal rhythm with drums and loop didn't cut out at all for 6 hours straight play. Next day I researched factory reset which was very easy and it fixed the amp. Probably why customer returned it as open box. Genious, MF or GC should have definitely factory reset the amp and sent with cable though, when I called in they said open box items are thoroughly inspected and I definately regretted trying to save money in the condition it showed up in. Awesome amp though!Matthalamew the Guitar Ninja
