Great book and written in an exciting way, but I was disappointed to learn that I should have bought a book on tabs first. The scales that are there dont really tell me how to incorporate them into solos. But it if youre comfortable with advanced tabs, Ill need to buy the tab one first.stucham_13

Reviews:
I bought this book for my daughter for her birthday. She has been very pleased with it.Terisa
Its basic alright, the book does not mention the CD and there are no exercises on the CD. The cd just plays the root cord and then the a scale plays. The diagrams are ok. Each Page (and I mean each and every page) shows 5 scale charts displaying the scale positions in each of 5 places up the neck of the guitar. You will have to change charts to continue up the neck. I was expecting something with a little more particle teaching, like maybe simple songs that displayed the different scale/s and styles.DAVID
This book doesn't leave much to question concerning guitar scales.JOHNNY

15. 3 Shape Fretboard: Guitar Scales And Arpeggios As Variants Of 3 Shapes Of The Major Scale [Book]
Product Details:
3-shape fretboard is for intermediate to advanced guitarists interested in learning how to work out guitar scales and arpeggios for themselves. being able to create guitar scales and arpeggios yourself can give a better understanding, while knowing the logic behind them can make them more meaningful and therefore easier to learn. – the major scale it all starts with the major scale, the basis of music. all other scales and arpeggios can be defined in comparison to this scale. the book reflects this in practical terms by categorising the major scale into three different fundamental shapes, which once understood, can be used as templates to figure out other guitar scales and arpeggios. – the caged system this system can help to understand the larger caged guitar scale shapes in terms of their single octave components. for example, the five caged shapes for the major (or minor) pentatonic scales that each contain twelve notes, can be learned as only two shapes of five notes, which are joined end to end to give us the five full caged shapes. – what else? various 3-note per string scales can be understood as the same combination of single octave component types. see how basic major and minor chords are formed from within scales and look at triad and 7th chord based harmony. each scale and arpeggio type has a question, with the answer at the back of the book in guitar tablature. 3-shape fretboard contains 600 fretboard diagrams. intervals are grouped together in the context of the scales they are intended for, which can provide a foundation for learning intervals individually on the fretboard.

Reviews:
It's easy to use, and explained so that the dim such as I, can understand. Besides, there are more scales in this book than Steve Howe of YES can play. Well maybe. This is the 3rd book of this series I've purchased. My kids have confiscated the other two, and this one is for my brother. I was disappointed with the Incredible Chord Finder. I was hoping it would get into progressions and possibly the circle of fifths. However, the Incredible Scale Finder Book is the best by far for getting to the bottom line on the scales, and their differences, and why. Thanks Adolphmale_nurse_at_home
