Reviews:
At first, I thought it would not be a good fit, just average. However, my new axe now rests in a very well made and handsome guitar case. The fit is extraordinary, IMHO, and gives me peace of mind that my PRS is safe and secure! The PRS crew has hit the high note with this case. Thanks PRS folks! Well done!Pete
Overall: I have been playing Fender Strats for yearsome (Mexican and US). Decided to try something new. My friend suggested PRS, which are hand made in Maryland. The quality of this guitar is amazing. The neck is comfortable. Sounds great oyt of the box. I dont feel like I need to modify or change a sting. I was a little concerned about the locking tuners at first but I read the instructions that came with the guitar and changed them myself. It took about a minute per string (maybe two). Super easy! I wish I had the PRS locking tuners on my Fenders now. If I ever break a sting playing out I could fix it fast myself. I am playing on Ernie Ball RPS 10's and happy. Stays in tune well even with hard tremolo dives and pulls (like in The Toadies – Possum Kingdom). I have been playing for 30+ years and I am officially a diehard PRS fan now. The body and color are killer. Hard to get some straps around the locking nuts but the wide nut heads also minimize strap slipping so it's a con and a pro (just choose steps carefully). Thick leather straps will not work with the factory nuts.George

Very well made and sturdy case. Quite heavy though.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Well made which it had PRS name on it and it's a little heavy.Thomas
REAL SNUG! Like many guitarists purchasing, or, considering the purchase of a PRS Silver Sky – the idea of a $2300 guitar coming with only a gig bag seemed a bit nickel-and-dimey. This however, was a collab between PRS and John Mayer, and Mayer wanted a gig bag. I wanted a hard case. PRS has a reputation for outstanding work and solid quality control… and the construction quality of the case holds true to that. Hardware firmly in place, no missed or skipped stitching, and the interior fits the PRS Silver Sky like a glove – what you’d expect in a custom made case. This is a custom, or boutique quality case… and for the price— a pretty good deal (considering the case, and case alone).JKRichard

Reviews:
This is a nice case but….my new CE24 does not fit very well. The neck does not line up with the neck rest when the body is positioned in the case as it should. Also, some of the body sits down in the case and flush with the top of the case while the top half of the body rides high, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above the case. Just not the fit I would expect from PRS and not for $300. Frankly, the Fender tweed hard case has a much better fit and the build is at least as good if not better.Chuck
At first I thought the paisley case was a bit flamboyant. I purchased a CE24 and I refuse to carry it in a gig bag. The body fits perfectly. The neck padding could be a little better fitted to this model… but it's not like the guitar is unsecure… mine doesn't move at all in the case. I do wish there was a PRS logo somewhere on the case, but again I'm not complaining. Thanks AMS for carrying this awesome caseChase
very stylish fits my PRS well, very stable and secure my gutiar perfectly

Reviews:
I purchased this item to protect my Gibson Les Paul Custom Signature Series Guitar. As reviewed, the interior is extremely plush. The exterior looks quite dependable for all intent and purposes. Like others noted, the points of contention are the metal pieces attaching the handle preventing a 5 star rating. It is illogical to spend so much time on every detail "except" the parts supporting ALL the weight of the instrument. It appears that with a given amount of weight shift, the support brackets may snap off allowing the case to fall down in the direction of the headstock and potentially cause damage from impact. Since this case will very rarely see time outside of my home, I feel fairly certain the few times I need to transport my axe, I will be careful.1amun_re
i ordered this with intentions of getting the most for my money. I don't have big bucks to spend, but I wanted certain things and I got what I hoped for. I wanted enough length to accommodate the longer-than-typical headstock on my LP copy Bradley. The measurements were clearly lined out. The rest of the fit was perfect and plush. My only criticism is the metal bracket that secures the nice handle seems a little thin, but I expected there to be a little give-and-take somewhere, for this price. I'm pretty handy and will figure out a way to reinforce it. If not for this I'd give it 5 stars! FYI, Standard Shipping meant US Post Office, at least in my case. I'm glad I have a good-natured mail carrier.filmbuffed

The Gator case I bought didn't fit my guitar and they don't carry the one that does even though they advertised this one to fit my guitar. Now I have to repackage it and send it back at my expense over $20.00. A costly experience for me, hopefully someone else will learn from my mistake! Go somewhere else.ksjj2000

Reviews:
Like most, I looked at the cheaper alternatives when seeking to replace the flimsy gig bag for my new (2016) USA SG Standard. While there are cheaper options, they do not provide the neck support necessary for the SG – this case offers the correct support for the angle of the set neck in the form of a "ramp" where it meets the body. Many of the generic "one size fits all" cases do not. This case also cradles the instrument properly, and is not "too tight" and/or "too loose" along the curves of the body. Now, I'm no fan of overpriced Gibson-branded accessories, and would have opted for aftermarket if the fit was the same but sadly this is the only way I found to properly protect my SG. This is a quality TKL Canadian-made case with "Gibson Gear" silkscreened on it, and the cost, for me, justifies the peace of mind. Was well packed (double boxed) and shipped quickly – great job by MF.Bob
This is a sturdy case! Much nicer than what Gibson has used in the last several years. As I understand it this case is made in Costa Rica. Its much heavier and stout compared to the Canadian or Chinese cases. I bought it to fit my real 57' Single Cut Junior but it also fits my 59'Double Cut perfectly! Like a glove! I will buy another…….JTSOB
I bought this case for my 2016 50s Tribute LP. I know the gig bag could do a good job for protecting my guitar, but nothing beats a hard shell case. This case is pretty awesome for what it is. Looks like it was made from tough plywood, and the covering looks pretty tough as well. This case doesn't have a locking hinge. You have to buy a padlock for it. The interior has a plush gray lining that provides soft cushioning for your LP, and its safe on the finish as well. My LP fits snug inside the case, it does not shake around, which gives me peace of mind that it won't be shaking around when I'm carrying it about. Visual aesthetics are simple but elegant. The Gibson Gear logo blazing across the front looks cool, although I personally wish it could've been the Gibson USA logo. The leather tab for the accessory compartment has the Gibson logo embossed on it, nothing too special. It's a good case for a decent price. I wouldn't mind recommending it.AcousticMetroTech

I give this bag only 3 stars because unless Gator upgraded the bag or is making it in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase. I bought one of these for a Sterling by Music Man bass as I was under the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). As the photos indicate, this bag will work for a Fender P Bass, but the Fender FB620 is a better bag for that and other Fender bass guitars while presently costing 10 less than the Gator while offering better protection and features. The Gator GB-4G seems to be more of a universal fit bag accommodating a wider range of sizes. The thing it seemed to have going for it the most was its zipper which seemed heavy duty. I say "seemed" because I returned the bass and so the bag as well.Vice
I bought a used guitar for back porch jamming. Needed a gig bag that didn't cost more than the guitar ,but would keep it safe and clean. Stopped at Sam ash because I was certain they had a variety of gig bags. Not my first visit or purchase. The Gator gig bag I chose is the economy for dreadnought guitars by Gator. Great price for my budget and well made. This bag is perfect for my needs. Easy carry and my guitar is covered.Just enough padding in all the right places for my guitar. Also accessory zipper compartment.Lindy
I'm giving this bag only 3 stars on account of the price increase; for it used to cost about 4-5 less than the Fender FE620 but now costs about 10 more than? Unless it has improved features or is being made in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase as the FE620 gig bag provides better protection and features (for Strat size guitars anyway). I purchased one in May 2021 and only because as I was of the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). I should have sized things up beforehand since the Sterling by Music Man Cutlass I bought the bag for is essentially a slightly shorter, slightly sleeker version of a Strat (for which the FE620 was made). The best thing the Gator bag seemed to have going for it was the zipper which seemed rather heavy duty while mesh pockets on the front of a gig bag aren't particularly practical while being subject to tearing/ripping. As you can see by the photos, there's too much room in the bag for a Strat size guitar (though one might be able to insert the headstock into the bag's internal top pocket to prevent the guitar from sliding around too much in the bag). The Gator GB-4G ELEC Series Gig Bag is more of a universal fit bag better suited for guitars longer and/or wider than a Strat.Vice
10. Gator Gw-335-Brown Semi-Hollow Guitar Deluxe Wood Case

Specifications:
Weight | 25 lb |
Reviews:
If you have a 335-style semi-hollow body electric and want a strongly built, well protected, classy looking case to embrace your guitar when you're not playing, you can't go wrong with the Gator GW-335 Brown. In high style and all by itself, it faithfully recreates the mid-1950s rock-and-roll guitar-love scene, evoking memories of James Burton, Chuck Berry, and Slim Harpo. The outside is a good looking, textured-brown Tolex (vinyl covering) over a wooden structural frame, with white stitching around the top edge. The shackles and feet are gold-colored hardware, thick and very solid, which looks really sharp with the brown Tolex. The inside is lined with deep-pink plush fur, soft and sensual, which covers thick, flexible, padding to snuggle your beloved axe like nothing else and hold it firmly in place. To top it off, there is a double-thick satin shroud of the same passion-pink color that lays directly on top of the guitar when you shut the lid. Quite a cozy blanket for Herself. I love this case, and if you like regal splendor for your guitar, you will too. By the way, I keep my Ibanez AS7312 Transparent Cherry 12-string in a Gator GW-335 Brown and she fits like a glove. Look no further!downwindjaxon
I bought this for my 11 year-old sons 2017 Gibson SG Special. The guitar fits, but it is a little loose on the body. Nothing that is concerning though. The interior is Pink, again, that does not concern me. It should protect the instrument much better that the gig bag it came with. the case has that vintage look and feel. Great case for the money.scottatgc
I've got a few guitars now and usually had to order a decent hard shell case for each of them. My guitars are all kept in their cases when not in use, so I'm expecting something that's both functional and durable. I usually have to get my cases on-line because the selection at our local shops is pretty limited. With that in mine, there is always a certain amount of risk involved concerning purchasing something before I see it. And I can't say that I've always been happy with what arrived at the front door. My return experiences, however, have usually been pleasant enough, just the usual waste of time though. But when this one arrived I was literally floored. It was actually a lot more than I expected. The exterior screams vintage, a light brown, leather looking textured material. (apparently I can't spell vynyl, so..) And the interior is old school plush Gibson pink, complete with that velvet blanket attached and gold hardware. This is a dead ringer for the case that came with my LP Custon 30 years ago. The pink interior sort of clashes with my Heritage Cherry SG, but it's a good clash, colorful to say the least. The fit is perfect. There's no movement at all once the guitar is tucked in. Had I known the quality beforehand, I would have expected to pay twice the price, which incidentally is what the manufacturer is asking.Lostventure

Very nice bag, nice padding, I think I couldve gotten better for the $105. Its not as good as their first bag. But my Santanas fit perfectly and they do have the extra padding along the sides. thats a plus! Some of the parts are plastic that I do not like because its on the straps. I needed a hard case for my new PRS S2 Custom 24. I first ordered a Gator "wide body" because of the low price. Uh, no thanks. Very lightweight and I had to push the top down to get the guitar to fit in the case. Returned it. Well, since the PRS model case was a bit pricey and I could buy a heavy duty SKB for just a bit more cash, I went with the SKB. It is of superb quality and I would trust it to protect my PRS if I were lost at see in a lifeboat, run over by a Mack truck, attacked by a gorilla, or just about any other disaster. It is incredibly sturdy, water proof, four latches, including two TSA locks, and the guitar fits in it perfectly with a rather large storage area for your "other stuff". Drawback, however, is that it is significantly larger and heavier than the standard Strat-type case. It even has handles on three sides and wheels on one end! No kidding! If I were going to transport my guitar by plane or truck, or do some heavy road gigging, this would be the unit all the way. If not, I think I would opt for a more "standard type case". That pretty much leaves you with one choice – the PRS case that is made for the guitar. Not nearly as sturdy and expensive for what you get, but certainly more practical. Hope this helps. P.S. I gave it 5 stars because this case certainly fits its description and is of premium quality.Reeder

Paired this with a Hughes & Kettner TM-18 also purchased from AMS. The Celestion V-30 speaker is something I’ve used before and is an awesome speaker for a variety of tones. PRS just makes gear right. The cab is built solid. Cleans are absolutely pure and as you break up the signal the cab projects crisp. It maintains this integrity as you get to “11”. Very impressed but not surprised as it is PRS.Brad E
Considering the reasonable price, I decided to try this cab. I've been playing for about 40 years, but I don't have a lot of experience experimenting with different speakers and cabs. I had been told by many other guitarists not to bother with the new Celestion V-type because it is made in China, yet I just couldn't resist the price. I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised with this cab. I play mostly clean, and sometimes a little overdrive, but never distortion. The cab does sound evenly balanced across the frequency spectrum. For my taste and style, I prefer a bit more scoop in the low mids, and occasionally, the bottom end in this cab is a bit too soft for me, but that could be due to the depth of the cab and not the speakers themselves. I can't speak for how this cab would do with heavy metal or even classic rock, but there are certainly no frequencies that seem to jump out and make the cab sound notched. Also, I like the clarity of the mids. Luckily, I didn't get any mud from this cab, just a nice, smooth balance.sparrow

I purchased this case for a custom built solid wood guitar. Humidity where I live is usually about 25%. I also purchased the hygrometer that fits inside the case. The first week I owned the case I would put the hygometer in the case, wait a couple of hours, then check it. Then I would put the hygrometer on the end table in the music room. I would wait a couple of hours and then repeat the process. Outside the case, 25%. Inside the case, 43%. I have now had the case for about three weeks. I checked it inside the case about an hour ago. 47%. If your solid wood guitars live in a dry climate, call this site right now and order one of these. It could save your guitar's life. The only down side is the case is only available right now for Classical/Flamenco guitars and Dreadnought guitars. My 12 string fit nicely in the Dreadnought case (Larrivee L-03R-12E) and I will be buying one of these cases soon for that guitar as well.MarkW
I'm a professional classical guitar maker and my case distributor recently went out of business after many decades. So I'm searching for a decent classical guitar case and having a hard time finding one at a reasonable price range. This Protege case DOES fit a standard CLASSICAL guitar. That's the best thing about this case. It's an average quality case, nothing more and nothing less. For in home use it's fine. For light gigging locally it's fine. I WOUND NOT check this case on an airplane! It's simply too lightly built.Bob
The case feels sturdy, as does the handle. I am not worried about damaging my guitar while it is in this case. However, the fit is extremely snug on my 1979 Guild Dreadnought – I have to really push to get it inside the case all of the way. Also, the lock does not function (as in, it will not lock). The latches do not line up exactly, but the case will still close with a little force. It also came with a small (~6"x~2"x~4") foam block with velcro on one side, covered in the same material used inside of the case. This block has multiple stains and marks on it and I am unsure as to the use.I cannot speak for this case's humidity control as I have no means of thoroughly testing it.Good:SturdyBuilt-in HumidifierValue (bought during "Stupid Deal of the Day" for ~$50)Bad:Latches don't line up 100% properlyExtremely snug, almost uncomfortably soStrange blockNon-functioning lockTom-AUTG9

I think the price of guitar cases are totally inflated and to get one on sale is something one has to do to stretch the dollar. Okay, that being said, this case fits my China made Fender strat Squier to a tee. The eye catching tweed fits the Fender vibe. If you noticed my cons was durability i.e. the cases tweed look is attractive, but you wonder as road gigs pile up if the tweed doesnt start to tear and expose the raw components exterior of the case underneath? If they had lacquered the tweed exterior, the case itself would have a fighting chance to slip and slide into vans and carriage areas with little thought of rips and tears it would acquire in a short time. Again, I dont gig much these days, but if I was looking at a case long term that could withstand the road, this case would questionable unless you "handle with care" when you transport and load and unload your gear.James R
I didn't feel like spending over $200 and waiting until who knows when, for a Gibson Explorer case, so I picked one of these up. For the money, it's a good case. I carry my guitars with me to shows, so they are always in my vehicle, so this case does the job. I will say it feels a tad more sturdy than the Gator version of this case, and it's slightly smaller, which is a good thing given how large an Explorer case has to be. The only improvement I could wish for, is to make it tad smaller still. There's still several inches of room from the headstock to the edge of the case. Overall, for the money, I'm very happy with the case.Tony
I purchased this knowing that it wouldn't be a super durable road case but adequate for storage and playing out now and then. In those ways, it met my expectations. The case is made of very thin plywood, but not so flimsy that it can't function as a good light duty case. The hardware appears to be of decent quality and all of the latches lined up well. The lining was neatly applied and actually fairly soft and plush. It is a universal fit case, so I wasn't expecting it to be completely form fitting to my Telecaster. It will move around a bit in the case when you transport it. It could use better neck support, as well. But overall, not bad for the price. Where this product really came up short is with the application of the tweed covering. The tweed was applied over wood chips and small voids in the wood frame. No effort was made in sanding or prepping the wood prior to applying the cover material. This is only cosmetic, but looks really sloppy and substandard. Maybe I just got a rough one. I didn't expect perfection at this price, but I don't think this case ever should have left the factory like this.Pat

Reviews:
This came with a PRS S2 series Vela guitar – I've had PRS guitars in the past, but not for about 10 years now so this is my first ownership experience with both the S2 series and the PRS gig bag. The bag is very nice; nicer than the typical Fender gig bag that comes with the upper-level MIM models and the entry-level USA models (American Specials/American Performers). Very sturdy, nice-sized accessory pocket. Probably not as nice as Gibson's "soft case", which is closer to a hard case than a gig bag.John C
18. Gator Gw-Lp-Brown Deluxe Wood Guitar Case
Product Details:
The interior of the gator cases gw-lps traditional lp guitar case features a plush magenta lining and a fabric cover for ultimate style and protection of your les paul-style instrument. it also features 5-ply wood shell with a traditional brown exterior. the guitar case fits most body sizes similar to the lp-type guitar.
Specifications:
Weight | 18 lb |
Reviews:
This is a good case as long as these issues don't concern you: 1. My Gibson LP slides around inside the case. I find this surprising as this is a repro Lifton case. To secure the guitar inside the case, you have to pack it out with t-shirts or towels. Huh? 2. The latches feel flimsy. I'm not sure how much abuse these could withstand. I have an ESP case for a different guitar, and the latches on that are solid as are the latches on my OEM Gibson case. I think that Gator have sized this case to accommodate a bunch of different guitars, like Epiphone LPs and other single cutaway guitars. This makes sense for Gator but not for Gibson LP customers. The color is attractive. The pink interior is wild. The plywood feels solid. The tolex is well applied. In the end, I've kept the case as I only need it to transport my LP around in my car. I wouldn't be happy using this as a touring case. This really is a poseur's case. 🙂Chris
I bought this case as a replacement for the old chainsaw case that came with my 1981 Gibson Les Paul Standard. This case is slightly longer than the standard Gibson USA cases. There is roughly 1 1/2 – 2 inches of room in the case which is a bit annoying since I can feel the guitar move around (back-forth) when I carry it. Outside of that, the case is very well made and durable. Very similar in appearance to the brown Gibson USA cases. Nice interior, strong hardshell outer case. Aside from the fit for my guitar, it works for me (I remedied the problem by putting a small towel to make the guitar snug). I would recommend the case if you just need to keep your guitar protected inside of your house but if you're using it for gigging purposes or traveling, I would suggest you look at something a little tougher and more secure. Outside of that, you can't beat the price.

A great compact case, yet with ample room inside for your accessories. The case is well made with a really nice lush looking interior. Chose this case for my son to carry his Epiphone SG back and too to college, and they compliment each other a treat. Would highly recommend both case and company. Thanks PMT.Stephen P.
American Music Supply is the place to get all your music gear. I got my epiphone case and my epiphone sg p90 from them for a few installment payments. The gear is great the people are great. Customer service will go out of their way to make sure you get the gear you want and not have to settle for the next thing that you don't. So I say check out American Music Supply. Com and grab the gear you have been wanting all your life. They have the top of the line brands and the cheaper names for those penny pinchers. Get on board and check it out.
I purchased this case for my Epiphone Les Paul Modern and it does the job perfectly, my other cases were too tight and didn't leave any room for my padded leather strap which this one does. Nice size compartment for accessories and finished with the steely grey very well padded cushioning inside it looks great. With the logo on the front too it was the only choice to compliment and protect my new guitar. PMT also delivered it in great time too!Kristian H.

Reviews:
Overall: I got this case because I read a review that a Fender Telecaster would fit in it. What that review lacked is that it fits SNUG. I have to press the guitar into the case for it to fit. After some time I'm sure the case will "mold" to my tele but I just thought I should let you all know that before you buy it. I'm a pretty easy going musician but I know some people might be put off by that. The case has a soft interior and it appears to be very cheap but usable. If the insides of this case ever fall out, I'll just super glue it at a later date. Nice for what you pay for.The little storage cubby inside of the case is small. It fits my capo, a set of strings, picks and one lava cable. Sometimes you have to rearrange the things inside for the case to allow you to close it but again, I'm easy going. One of the latches on the outside seems to fit more loose than the others. Thankfully it's not a big deal when all of the latches are…erm.. latchedOverall it's a decent purchase. Keeps my tele out of a soft case.
Bought this case along with a Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster thinking it wouldn’t be as nice as the similar Fender case that is around $80 more but I did think it would at least be a solid, protective case. It is not. Exchanged emails with AMS to authorize an exchange for the SKB case and was made aware exchanges are not allowed on Easy payment options. Makes sense, I just wasn’t aware and I’m sure I’m not the first caught off guard. Opted to return for a refund and was told card on file would be charged around twelve bucks. To return a junky case that has carpet on the interior lifting up, and that also has “tolex” pulling apart on the outside. Lame. Just get the skb, or even better, order the deluxe molded fender case from someone who stocks it and hopefully stands behind the products they sell. Maybe just a byproduct of the Amazon era where decades old retailers are essentially operating like a punk distro…..Ty
Great Case for a Great Price! I bought this case for a Squire Strat. It showed up at my house in 2 days. The quality surpassed my expectations! Finally, I had heard about the great customer service at Sweetwater and their customer service is Masterclass. My sales engineer (Mitch)checked in every step of the way. I would expect that for the the purchase on a high end guitar but I bought a guitar case. Will I buy from Sweetwater again? You bet I will.
