Neck is very nice maple with rosewood fret. Smoother finish with no fret sprout whatsoever. The tuners work very well stayed in tune. String through back. Not a single flaw in the finish . I owned one of these guitars for 2 years and was very please. I bought it new online and wrote an extensive review at that time.This is a brief followup. It held a tuning for an exceptional length of time. It had nice sound amplified but don't plan to play it acoustically 'cause it doesn't produce much sound….more like the Strat I once owned. My only negative comment is that it was not balanced….I had to use a strap even when sitting down. My encounter with Washburn products was very positive.rxroger
When I first received it, it was sure Pretty in the box. Once I got it out of the wrapper it was even prettier. I gave it a strum and of course it was a bit loose so I tuned 'er up. Still, yuck!! But after adjusting the intonation she plays and sounds real nice. The strings are heavier than I like but that is no problem. Overall, it's a good deal.madavis76281

I owed a Wolfgang for years and when I bought it, a friend of mine said "Don't waste your money on that…get an N4 and get it over with". Being the EVH fan I was, I bought it. A few years ago I came across an N4 here and bought it. I should've listened to my bud years ago. What an instrument!! I can't begin to tell you how amazing it is. I've been playing for 23 years. I've owned USA Fender, higher end Yamaha's, the Wolfgang and have owned and played many other amazing brand name instruments and this is by far the best guitar I have ever laid hands on. Beats my old boss's '62 Tele and his friends '54 Les Paul. I don't use a Floyd much anymore, but man…it's such an amazing guitar. Versatile tones, ease of playability, comfortable and a simple layout. You can't ask for anything more. I play Rock, classic rock, alternative, metal, a little country and blues from time to time…I do it all on this guitar. Stop reading this, sell the fire wood you have right now (maybe keep one if you blow a string mid set…), and get an N4!Darryl
I have have been playing guitar since 1980, and I started teaching that same year. I have my degree in Music Education, teach Guitar, Bass, Percussion and Recording Arts at a college and gig regularly. I am always looking for values and not a label person, if a guitar plays good, then play it, and let me tell you,THIS GUITAR PLAYS FRICKIN AWESOME. If Washburn will continue to make them at this quality then this instrument is a superb value!! Like I noted the cheapest parts on the guitar is the Pot and switch, (big woop!) I think me and Nuno are going to become great friends. I will say that the Bill Lawerence pick-up is HOT and will take some time to get used to… Dimarzio Tone Zone have been my choice for a long time. I just recieved my order and to my suprise the guitar was more than I had hoped for. The first thing I noticed was the Floyd Rose Special instead of the cheaper copy, ( i was ready to upgrade if i didnt like it) the rhythm pick-up is Duncan USM instead of the Washburn let's put a pick-up in the hole. The finish is as smooth as silk and the neck has a great feel to it. It even came with Grover tuners. It is a 2010 model, comes with all the the wrenches(very important) and a nice gig bag. As a long time guitar player, teacher and repairman the first thing I did was take it apart..lol! After reading many reviews i was worried about a lot of thing but was glad it came with the upgrades i was prepared to do. I am going to replace the volume pot and pick-up switch as these are the cheapest parts on the guitar…but you wouldn't have to! As a teacher I am always searching for instrument that my students can afford and give them a bang for there buck. I have always preferred lower priced instruments, ( my main axe is a MF scratch and dent Ibanez 321 i got for $250 about 10 years ago) and I think this guitar is going to serve me well and i can recommend it. Like i have noted, I was expecting way less as hardware goes because i was doing extencive googling to find out its features and was just expecting all the cheap parts and was going to upgrade. When I called the MF staff was helpful and processed my order quickly..Thanks Folks

This guitar was affordable. I shaved off 2mm from the bridge to make it closer to the height I'm used to. It plays easy, it sounds good and it looks great. My Alvarez sounds better only because it is bigger. This is one solid guitar. I will have another one. Great guitar. Unbelievable sound for this price range. You can distinctly hear each string ring out when you strike a chord. Rich, sweet, balanced and full. Great play-ability after a truss rod adjustment. I still need to lower the action at the saddle and nut another mm, but the action is super fast and easy as it is right now. The frets are well crowned and smooth. They aren't sharp, but they do protrude at the ends a bit. Filing them back won't be a big deal. Otherwise, fit and finish was perfect. I've owned a lot of acoustic guitars in various price ranges and the more I play this, the more impressed I am. I wouldn't hesitate to gig anywhere with this. I'm delighted. It's a keeper.c-cat1
I am a semi-pro musician with a guitar collection. I bought this for my daughter, a lefty, to learn on. There aren't many short scale, lefty acoustics on the market. I was skeptical with the low price, but this is an excellent guitar. Well built and looks good. Sounds very good for the price and the fact that it's a plywood top. Nut and saddle are a composite bone material (most cheap guitars come with awful plastic appointments). I will have to do a set up to lower the action a bit, (b/c my daughter is a beginner with no callouses!) but overall very happy with this purchase.mandojam8k06

I bought it for the green color, but luckily it is actually a lighter teal green. This can be a great guitar with some adjustment work. I used it as a mod platform and converted it to HSH style. Full saga outlined in video on my youtube channel called 2bikemike. I named it Oscar. I am very happy I found this deal. PROS: Very beautiful. The tuners are decent and work well. Neck and body finish excellent. Vintage color on neck matches very nicely. Bridge and saddles work well. Came screwed tight so whammy didn't work, but it was adjustable to preference. Bridge pickup had good output measuring approx. 7.5k ohms. Whammy screwed in nicely. CONS: 11 frets needed levelling. Must have been in storage long time. Frets had light corrosion as all budget guitars have. That was corrected as part of recrowning and polishing work. Plastic nut was nice looking and worked ok (but cut to high for proper action hight at 1st fret) since I prefer bone I replaced it. Neck tag said "USA MADE" but every part is Chinese. That said though the build was very nice Middle and neck pickups very low output sounding weak compared to bridge, measuring approx. 5.6k ohms both. I rated ease of use as fair based on out of the box condition. After my work, it is excellent. If you are handy to perform some maintenence on your own guitars, then this is a good deal for you.2bikemike

I bought this guitar because I wanted a cheaper camp fire guitar and love it. I changed the strings to Elixir and filed the saddle down as well as tightened the neck adjustment and it plays as well as my electric guitar..i play it often.
