I owned one of these guitars for 2 years and was very please. I bought it new online and wrote an extensive review at that time.This is a brief followup. It held a tuning for an exceptional length of time. It had nice sound amplified but don't plan to play it acoustically 'cause it doesn't produce much sound….more like the Strat I once owned. My only negative comment is that it was not balanced….I had to use a strap even when sitting down. My encounter with Washburn products was very positive.rxroger
When I first received it, it was sure Pretty in the box. Once I got it out of the wrapper it was even prettier. I gave it a strum and of course it was a bit loose so I tuned 'er up. Still, yuck!! Hands down, Washburn gives the best bang for the buck in guitars. I hobby in repairing/building guitars and was very impressed with the quality of this guitar. You could pay a couple hundred dollars more and get something not as good. I have bought other Washburns and continue to be impressed with their products. One was a Washburn steel string Mahogany acoustic. I set it up with a new, bone nut and saddle. The $150 guitar now plays like a $1500 one. I gave it as a gift to my brother and still marvel when I pick it up. Anyway This C5CE clssical is another great product.aleface781
The guitar came promptly within a few days. I haven't found any flaws in this guitar. Action is nice and low with no fret buzz. Came with a nice long cord and truss rod tool. I registered the warranty which i have never had any problems with Wasburn customer service. The electronics amplify all strings evenly. The built in tuner works spot on. So I was looking to get the Ibanez GA35TCE or This Washburn classical guitar. Acoustically both guitars are nice except that the Ibanez was a bit flat from G-E nylon strings. It also had a buzz in the bridge that I did not like however the electrics of the Ibanez were flawless, clean and no hum or hiss. Now the Wshburn, the guitar is a beautiful guitar, nice finish and well made. Acoustically the tone is clearer and more balanced throughout all 6 strings compared to the Ibanez. The ibanez probaby could do with better quality strings to fix the flat sound issue. The Washburn has very good sustain and resonance such that at times other strings start resonating and dirtying the sound – especially when playing solo sections. This may be fixed with a new set of higher end strings which I will chnage after I use the ones that came with it or changing the bridge and nut to graphtech. Maybe I'll switch in the future. The electrics are ok. The electric pickup reporoduced the guitar sound pretty well except that there is a lot of Hiss with the BBand system. The pickup has treble, mid and bass EQ plus a presence knob where you can mold the tone as youplease. It also has a built in tuner that work well. So I sent back the Ibanez and kept the Washburn. The tonal character was much better. If the ibanez goes as a SDOTD sale dirt cheap I will pick it up just because of the cleaner pickup system.Afee

Ke kulatým narozeninám jsem si chtěl koupit elektroakustickou kytaru do 10.000 Kč. V pražské prodejně jsem strávil tři hodiny pobíháním od jedné kytary ke druhé a zkoušením, která hraje nejlíp. Stále dokola, tři hodiny… Vyzkoušel jsem všechny obecně známé značky, ale zvuk žádné mě neuspokojoval. Většinou byl "plechový". A ty co hrály opravdu dobře, byly v cenové kategorii 20.000 Kč a výš. Jenže já měl jen 10 tisíc… Ale jedna kytara do deseti tisíc tam hrála krásně, podle mých představ. Měla plný zvuk, pro folkovou doprovodnou kytaru nádherný – Washburn HD 10SCEB. Jenže byla černá… A já černou nechtěl. Připadala mi "pohřební". Ale krásně hrála. A tak jsem ji vždy odložil a zase se k ní pokorně vrátil, od světlých kolegyň jiných značek, protože ten zvuk byl opravdu slyšitelně lepší, plnější a zvonivější než u ostatních kytar v této cenové kategorii. A tak jsem si ji nakonec koupil. A dnes jsem šťastný, že ji mám. Zvukově skvělá. A dokonce i ten černý lak, který se mi nelíbil, mám dnes rád, protože i vzhledově je vyjímečná a nezapadne mezi standardními blonďatými kytarami okolo. Používám bronzové struny Elixir 12/56 (přechodová sada). Jsou hodně, hodně tvrdé, ale mají skvělý zvuk – zvonivé výšky, výrazné basy. Na akustické kytary Wasburn nedám dopustit, protože v naší kapele se sešly hned tři kytary Wasburn – HD7, můj HD10 a HD100 , takže mi věřte, že kytary Washburn jsou opravdu skvělé a jednoznačně předčí svým zvukem kteroukoli kytaru světových výrobců ve stejné cenové kategorii. A až budu slavit další kulaté narozeniny tak si koupím dvakrát dražší Washburn HD100 🙂Luděk

This guitar was affordable. I shaved off 2mm from the bridge to make it closer to the height I'm used to. It plays easy, it sounds good and it looks great. My Alvarez sounds better only because it is bigger. This is one solid guitar. I will have another one. I was pleasantly surprised to open the double boxed OE30ES-CH guitar. The Cherry translucent finish on the Maple body is simply stunning. The mahogany neck is a bit sensitive but has a great feel with smooth frets , a rosewood fingerboard , and nice binding detail all around the guitar. The nubone nut is synthetic but nice. The bridge was not setup or intonated correctly , but adjusted correctly to produce in tune notes open and octave (12 fret). The Bridge pickup tone pot but was loose, allowing pot rotation, but tightening fixed this potentially serious problem. The action ( bridge height ) and neck truss rod adjustments were correct within playing tolerances. No fret buzz was observed and the instrument played easily and clearly the entire length of the neck. The tone and volume pots provide amble volume and tonal variation s from bright treble to a fuzzy sustain full of bass and midrange frequencies , using the three way pickup switch in combination with various tone / volume setting. The sounds are awesome , the instrument has a professional feel / look and plays remarkably well out of the box. The tone and volume knobs look good with traditional clear top numbered Gibson style . The Headstock is black and is emblazoned with the Oscar Schmidt label. This Washburn guitar is s great deal. The two humbucking style pickups deliver clear powerful amplification that produces outstanding sustain and volume , plus great feedback at higher rock n roll volumes. This instrument is overall a very good entry level guitar, and much more actually. It came with a 10 foot cord and Allen key to adjust the truss rod. I am definitely in Love with it so far. It is only draw back is the overly sensitive neck ( bolt on / shims ? ) and the lack of a pickguard, but the overall consensus is the OE30CH is awesome. I got my Oscar Schmidt OE30CH today. All went well with the shipping, and the seller was prompt in getting it to me. This guitar is amazing for the price. It's a very nice guitar. I've been playing jazz for close to a couple of decades, now. I've worked with arch top guitars before. This guitar is comparable to those costing twice as much as it does. The fit and finish is good is pretty much without flaw. It's a lovely instrument. The only thing that I had to do, when it arrived, was put a couple of pieces of business card under the nut (string buzz at the first fret) and adjust the truss rod. Now it plays beautifully with really low action. If you buy one, more than likely you'll need to set it up, or get a luthier to set it up for you. Once that is done, you've got a nice instrument. One of the cool things about this instrument, too, is that the neck is held on with wood screws, like a Fender guitar (universally, incorrectly called a bolt on neck.) So, if any neck adjustments are needed (putting in shims, adjusting angle), this can be done, unlike glued necks. This is one of the best deals that I've seen.rteel0
I rated this product high because it was very good looking, excellent quality and sounded good. However, that being said I didn't keep the guitar and returned it. It didn't fit my playing style but this is a purely a subjective call on my part. Can't blame the guitar for my personal tastes. Delivery was super quick and I love that but when I got this guitar the pickguard was loose, fretboard felt very rough when doing bends, and the tuners refused to stay in tune (especially high E string), and the nut was not even glued in! Great guitar. Unbelievable sound for this price range. You can distinctly hear each string ring out when you strike a chord. Rich, sweet, balanced and full. Great play-ability after a truss rod adjustment. I still need to lower the action at the saddle and nut another mm, but the action is super fast and easy as it is right now. The frets are well crowned and smooth. They aren't sharp, but they do protrude at the ends a bit. Filing them back won't be a big deal. Otherwise, fit and finish was perfect. I am a semi-pro musician with a guitar collection. I bought this for my daughter, a lefty, to learn on. There aren't many short scale, lefty acoustics on the market. I was skeptical with the low price, but this is an excellent guitar. Well built and looks good. Sounds very good for the price and the fact that it's a plywood top. Nut and saddle are a composite bone material (most cheap guitars come with awful plastic appointments). I will have to do a set up to lower the action a bit, (b/c my daughter is a beginner with no callouses!) but overall very happy with this purchase.mandojam8k06
Good looking tradition wood, fit, and finish. High quality tuners. Nice tone. Good quality guitar and right size for a young player. Will last a lifetime with proper care. Good size for a travel guitar. Neck is wide enough for and adult. Can use and keep for an heirloom for the next generation. I have purchased four for my grandsons and set them up professionally. I have always preferred 12-string guitars to six strings and still have my original Martin 12 string. Eight years ago however, the neck split at the base, so I put her back in her case and in the closet. Even though I couldn't play her, I wouldn't part with her in hopes that someday I could have her repaired. The reality however, was that it would cost more to repair her than to buy a new one… so I begin searching for her replacement. I'm disabled now and on a fixed income and can no longer afford an expensive replacement… So after doing my research, I decided on the Oscar Schmidt. I consider the price a great deal., I love the fit and finish, black cherry color, tone and action. No adjustments were necessary and I was playing it within seconds of tuning it. Unboxed it looked nice. But after checking the guitar over and especially the neck I notice that after the 17th fret it slanted toward the sound hole. This is something that quality control should have caught. After checking with my straight edge and all the proper measurements (adjusting the truss rod and proper tuning), I decided to keep the guitar and not return it. This will be my last over the web order. Although the guitar plays well and sounds ok after the adjustments, it's not worth the chance of receiving another defective guitar…. This is advertised as a florintine in write-up and pictures. The one the shipped me was not a floritine but a rounded cut away. Not sure if this was a production change or what. In spite of quality issues, the sound is beautiful. It has a smaller body than I expected but it still projects nicely. I like the neck feel and the small body make it comfortable to play. If the quality was as good as my last Washburn I would give it a 10. I really like the guitar, but quality is way less than expected based on other Washburn product I have seen. Nice having the tuner built in. I like sliders for controls better than small knobs. Disappointed. Bought for my son. I would return it but he played it and says he wants to keep it. The pictures and writ-up say it is a Florintine cut away. It is not. Nice flame maple top. Resonable fret work. Varnish has some runs and imperfections. Sand marks in neck under the varnish, does not effect play or feel. Also some glue left at some joints and binding less than perfect. Not as well built as my 11 year old Washburn D10CEB was. Hard to beat the price but quality is not what I expected from Washburn.srk
Overall this guitar is fantastic! Perfect beginner sized guitar that I will enjoy for years to come! First and formost I would like to state that this guitar is exactly like shown in the picture above. As you can see in the above picture the body comes to a curved edge by the cutaway not a sharp one making it a venetian body style not a florenine like stated in the discription! Other then that, the onboard tuner is really cool with its LCD screen and tuning nobs (not sliders)! The light D'Addario strings sit close to the fret board making this a very easy to play guitar! All wood work is incredible and looks beautiful!! Only thing I see that could possibly be wrong is the white binding on the neck has some hairline cracks right under the fret bars but every guitar I have played has these! Outside of that, the quality of this guitar is awesome! There are no runs, left over glue, scratches or anything! The flame top looks amazing and is absolutely flawless! Very deep shine and the internals look pristine! Very, very good quality as you should expect from a Washburn guitar! Tough to beat the value of this guitar with the quality and beauty of this instrument!

I bought this guitar because I wanted a cheaper camp fire guitar and love it. I changed the strings to Elixir and filed the saddle down as well as tightened the neck adjustment and it plays as well as my electric guitar..i play it often. I am happy with it. sound quality matches my more expensive guitars..123ford5
