I’ve been waiting for the comets to be released I am also a product of Kalamazoo and was looking for a semi hollow. The pictures don’t do these justice. The guitar is double bound and is a glossy metallic dark blue. It fades and looks flat in pictures for some reason. Plus you get coil splitting and locking tuners. It arrived with a suitably low action and was ready to go out of the box. Has a classic look but modern profile — looking forward to playing this for yearsThomas E.
This is, hands down, the best guitar you will find at this price point. This would be a great guitar at $3,000. These are made by Heritage, in Kalamazoo and they are spectacular. Carved mahogany top, nitro finish, stellar quality all around. When you consider there are guitars made under contract for once great American brands in Asia that cost as much as this American made guitar, made in the old Gibson factory, you would be insane not to give one of these a try. Pickups are amazing, from screaming rock and blues to mellow jazz, this guitar is a total sleeper punching way above its weight. Plus, it comes in a $200 padded gig bag, not a cardboard box. Cannot find a single flaw and cannot put it down. I wish I had 4 hands so I could give this four thumbs up. That good. Get one.Mike
Overall: Couldn’t be happier. Made by Heritage in the iconic old Gibson factory. Nitro. Set neck. All mahogany. Etc… It feels “old”.Best out of the box setup I’ve probably ever experienced. Straight neck. Zero buzz. Intonation was spot on. Excellent fretwork. The pickups are spectacular. Are they true gold foils? I can’t say. (I’ve read they’re Alnico III magnets, as opposed to the rubber ceramics that old gold foils utilized.)These pickups come across as a really great PAF style, so the gold foil is perhaps just an aesthetic. They react to the use of your volume/tone controls beautifully. From jazzy cleans to high gain, they excel at everything I’ve thrown at it.Combine everything with a nice Mono gig bag, and you have the best bang for the buck out there, in my opinion.

Superb quality, very impressed, everything feels right, great build quality, excellent pickups, very well made indeed, a genuine pro instrument … quality straight out of the box puts other manufacturer’s instruments of a comparable price point to shame .. no set up required, plays beautifully, sounds great, more twang than your average humbucker guitar.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
This guitar is an absolute dream. It's no frills, US made, with excellent attention to detail. The pickups sound warm and full. The frets are polished near flawlessly. Product Details:
Originally offered in 1959 through 1962, the silvertone 1423 was manufactured by the harmony factory in chicago. this version was known as the jupiter h49. pretty space age, eh? while silvertone didn t use this name, collectors often refer to 1423 as a jupiter. the highlight of this reissue is the unique blender control control setup. in addition to separate volume and tone controls for each pickup, the guitar features a blend knob that alters the balance between the two pickups when the selector is in the middle position creating an almost 'wah pedal' tone when dialed back and forth.upgraded pickups, hardware, and improved playability. the 1423 features duncan -design upgraded pickups that capture the tone of the originals. the original 1423 also had less-than-modern hardware… this reissue has a fully adjustable bridge for accurate intonation and a die-cast tailpiece. neck shapes and fret jobs were somewhat inconsistent on the original 1303. this one features a comfortable (…

(see pic) plays very well and sounds very good. frets have been leveled and polished. action is 1.75mm at bass and 1.5mm at treble side. relief is approx. .006 at 7th fret. intonation is good. there are some holes on the back of headstock where incorrect tuners were installed. weight is 8 lbs 2.5 oz. read and understand the following very carefully: this is not a gibson or a prs guitar. this is a guitar that was sold by sears roebuck and co. if you are looking for a gibson, fender prs or any other top brand guitar, you are on the wrong listing. if you are expecting that this guitar will sound or play like a top brand guitar, you are mistaken. this is a good playing, good sounding vintage mass produced guitar. it has had some setup work that makes it perform better than original, but
9. Prs Custom 24 Piezo 10-Top Eriza Verde 228
Product Details:
Specifications:
Reviews:
I have used this guitar with my band, live and in rehearsals… Plays fantastically once I set it up to my desired specs (Std D tuning, 10-52 strings, FU Tone brass block), but these PRS stock pickups have no grunt and snarl to them, so I plan to add an SD Black Winter set like in my EC Black Metal FR (dropped C). I have reverted back to using my Kramer Assault Plus which came loaded with the SD Alternative 8 set. Will likely use Custom 24 as primary D guitar again after replacing pickups. For this pickup issue alone, I'm giving it 3 stars, otherwise, it would be 5, as spending over 200 bucks more is a bit off putting after spending over $1100 for this plus a hard shell case for an import.Steve
From the moment you pull the case from the shipping box, to that incredible moment you set you’re eyes on this thing and pick it up. You experience a whole new level of quality craftsmanship, choice parts and select materials. Small innovative ideas that make you think, “now that's a better way to do that, why didn’t anyone else think of that?” The guitar was set up perfectly, fret work is incredible and is such a joy to play. Not to mention that it’s so beautiful. I’m sure whatever finish you select, it will look incredible. But it’s not just a pretty face. This instruments excels at what it’s suppose to do. Be a tool for your music. Nothing is perfect so here is what I found. And I’m being VERY picky The pickups are fantastic. Quality tones and I’m impressed with the clean tones and split combinations (truly great tones). I’m not as impressed with the drive tones. Purely personal opinion but I find they have too much “bite”. THAT’S ALL! Haha! Seriously! Buy it!Grumpy Guitar Player USA

Reviews:
This guitar for the price that it was during the stupid deal of the day was a great buy i would say its paid its self off, thats to say if you know how to actually play a guitar. That being said after maybe 5 gigs i noticed it needed set up again I only thing ive done was set it up and put new strings on it NYXL.s 10"s to be exact. No high frets no twisted next, overall nice next also, has that strat sound forsureEz
I've play in rock and country bands for MANY years, and own a couple G&L guitars as well as a les Paul, a couple strats, Yes Fender, and two custom guitars, I bought this one because I thought the paint job was cool… When I got this (for the price I paid) I wasn't expecting much…WOW was I mistaken. This guitar was flawless! Right out of the box. I've read some things about how folks didn't think the quality was good… I disagree, frets were smooth, neck pocket was tight, neck was set right, sound was classic! Came shipped in the G&L factory box, inside another protection box inside a shipping box. Paint job was better than I even imagined. I still say musicians friend did an awesome job gettIng these guitars in, and thankful that I work with that team for all of my music needs (which have been many). Btw the only thing I would change on that guitar is a black plastic piece on the whammy instead of the white one it comes with, small aesthetic thing but it's in the details…would match the pickups and pick guard. Hahahaha, I love this guitar !!! MWMike
I wanted a strat style guitar to practice with and saw this guitar. I have been a G&L fan since the 70's and always wanted one. Out of the box it plays great and has good tone. The alnicos have less output than standard magnetic pickups, but the tone is great. I will get the tele style on my next purchase.Kenny
