I installed on Epiphone les paul. You have to enlarge the control holes to 3/8. Be careful on input jack my ground wire broke off. I soldered a new ground on and installed. The directions are good but a little confusing. All in all it took longer than expected to install but everything is good now.Robert k
I was intimidated by soldering. I wanted to try some different pickups, but I didn't want to do the soldering. I always wondered why there wasn't an easier way to swap pickups, like when you put the cable into the jack. Why can't pickups be that easy too? So when I saw this I thought it would be awesome. First of all, it's not that easy. If you have Gibson pickups with shielded cable where the ground consists of a sheath encompassing the wire, then you have to unbraid the wire and twist it up and somehow insert it into a tiny little hole. Those holes are tiny anyway, and it's not so easy to stick wires in there. Solid core wires are doable, but multistrand wires? It's not so easy. Second, the sound is not so good. The neck pickup sounded extremely muddy, and adjusting the potentiometer didn't change the sound. Turning the knob didn't seem to have any effect. So I learned how to solder. Surprise. It's not very difficult. Soldering isn't that big of a deal. It's actually easier than using this solderless harness. I very strongly recommend NOT getting this.Emiliano

Teles allow players to select the neck and bridge pickups together, but stratocasters dont. many players over the years have added switches to stratocasters to allow this combination, and the switch is usually a push/pull pot or a mini-toggle. heres a better idea. but since this control is a variable resistor, rather than merely switch a pickup on or off, it allows the player to blend a pickup into or out of the mix, like a volume control would do. in the full-clockwise position the blender control does absolutely nothing, and in fact makes itself disappear from the circuit so as not to load the circuit (think true bypass). in this position, the 5-way switch functions like a normal strat, with one volume and one tone control. turning the control counter-clockwise in positions 1 and 2 blends in the neck pickup, while turning it in positions 4 and 5 blends in the bridge pickup. the player can get lots of subtle tonal coloration with this control. short-bushing pots, for mounting on a pickguard.

This product was messed up when I got it one of the resistors with the vitamin t was busted on the wiring harness so I had to change that and it's still not working right so no I would not recommend this product at this point right now and another thing it does not look like it shows in the picture
Just installed this harness on my '79 Les Paul loaded with Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbuckers and the results are amazing. If you are looking for that 50's clear tone this will help you to get closer to that tone, (assuming that you already spent some money in some nice vintage pickups) I had a few questions about the wiring diagram, but the guys at mojotone answered back right away.Carlos
Overall: The harness is excellent quality and sounds amazing in my Les Paul. It would be nice if it came with instructions. I have done a lot of pickup installations and electrical repairs to my guitars and am comfortable soldering, but this was my first harness installation. The wiring diagram is confusing and somewhat difficult to read. The diagram shows a connection from the neck pickup tone pot to the output jack, but the product doesn't include a wire for the connection. (It turns out that it isn't necessary.) Also, you have to set the nut and lock washers on the potentiometer shafts to match the thickness of your top and whether or not there is a mounting plate in the guitar; otherwise they stick out too far. The installation would have been a lot easier if there were instructions in the box, or at least on the website. I reached out to MojoTone through there website with a question and they never responded. Also, trimming and tinning the wires from the switch at the factory would have been a nice touch and made installation easier.Frank

A very useful book for Tone Explorers. In black and white, as the bound book is printed, the schematics can be confusing. Fortunately, the book is also downloadable in color (I don't know what effect these schematics will have for the color blind). My only other complaint has to do with the schematics as well, but it is minor: By simplifying the schematics the authors have complicated the drawings for someone who is familiar with electronic schematics. Yet everything is presented in a manner that can be digested by nearly everyone (I simply redrew the schematics I was interested in).bigger202
