Some Of Leo's earliest and greatest work! I was introduced to Leo Kottke's 6 & 12 String Guitar album in 1970, and I was blown away. I had never heard anything like it. My record collection was ruined in a flood, and I remembered this one, found it on ebay, and bought it. Now it all comes back to me…the driving rhythm, the slide precision, the playfulness of some of the tunes. It was groundbreaking in it's day. Some people copy Leo Kottke's style, but all it takes is a listen to this to know the difference between the copies and the real deal! Great CD! BTW: My 15 year old son has now become another fan of Leo's! 🙂myladylynda

Yes, yes I know John Fahey, Davey Graham and John Renbourn to name but three pushed at the boundaries of fingerpicking guitar before Kottke but this is his first and best work. He does what it says on the sleeve. 6 & 12 string guitars played with boggling technique, lyricism and melodic invention. A good transfer to CD too compared to the vinyl original (I bought it on release in 1969). American primitive guitar with some pzazz and a bit of Bach for good measure. Essential listening.tfeccles53

the neck wasn't leveled the frets were sharp on the edges, the six string neck set up higher than the 12. the electronics were cheap and micro-phonic. either neck didn't seem to have a finish on them. even as a beginning guitar it wouldn't be good without a lot of work.harrisonguitars08
This guitar is very nice in appearance but the playability is a bit lacking. The tuning keys on the 12 string were stiff and binding. The volume knob for the 12 string had a wiring problem. when I would turn the volume up,(10) for the 12 string the 6 string volume would be down quite a bit. So when I switched to the 6 string I had to put the volume knob on 8 for the 12 string to get full volume for the 6. I keep all my volume knobs on 10 and adjust my overall volume from the amp. There's supposed to be separate volume knobs for this guitar but like I said there was some kinda wiring glitch. Other then this it was very nice and the sound was exceptional.merw.tom
