Reviews:
This one stands the test of time. What it does , it does the best in its class. Tom Petty incorporated his personal ideas into this particular design. The first thousand models were signature guitars and are now worth a lot of money. Rickenbacker however did not stop producing this guitar after the signature run because they knew a great thing was worth keeping. Tom Petty was not happy with that decision but it worked out wonderful for the rest of us . One suggestion to everyone is to buy a Janglebox pedal and play it through that in order to achieve the best potential so it delivers the purest classic shimmering chime 🎶😎🎶Billbass1
I'd been looking for a Rickenbacker for a while and kind of got this one on a whim based on availability. It's genuinely my favourite guitar. I play in a noise/metal band, and the versatility and tonality makes this a power house and goes way beyond the stereotypical Rickenbacker sound. It's definitely a smaller guitar, which takes some getting used to, but that makes it easier to use without breaking your shoulders. The smaller body also gives a very distinct characteristic in its sustatin, which means it takes pedals and distortion exceedingly well.
This guitar is not only gorgeous to look at, it sounds and plays like no other. I've been coveting this particular model & finish (360 Fireglo) for years, as they are hard to find — and worth the wait & money – no question. If you are new to Rickenbacker, they have a very unique feel that is both responsive and… WARNING, it makes it extremely hard to put down. The pick ups have a unique sound, superb range and versatility. You can add any effect to that and they just deliver out-of-this world tones. The little fifth "blend" knob is a great tool to balance your pick up sound. The more I play with this, the more stuff I discover. You can do rhythm or lead on ANY style, with 2 full octaves fretboard and easy reach to the highest frets, you can see why so many savvy guitarist have at least one of these beauties in their collection. BTW, this guitar comes with 2 cable jacks. The Rick "O" Sound (the hole for the cable on the bottom) will only work with a stereo cable when connected to two different inputs (amps/mixer). If you connect a regular cable to the Rick"O"Sound your neck pick up will not sound, it is not broken, it is because each pick up goes to a separate speaker with that mode (and it sounds like a fantastic beast). If you use the top guitar hole "standard" you will be good to go, because it still sounds amazing. Just don't connect cables to both holes simultaneously. The guitar came perfectly set up from the factory, the intonation, action and any calibration was spot on. Once I tuned it, it was close to impossible to put down. This is definitely an investment that passes down the generations as "inheritance." If you are interested in one of these beautiful guitars, please don't cheat yourself getting a "counterfeit" instrument. Even if you have to save for a while longer, it will be worth every cent and waiting minute. The pictures do not make them any justice. I am saving already for my next Rick (I'll do the 330 jetglo next).BeeZee
2. Rickenbacker 330 Left-Handed Jetglo
Product Details:
Rickenbacker 330 jetglo electric guitar left hand the rickenbacker 330 is part of the popular 300 series from rickenbacker. launched back in 1958 it has become rickenbackers top selling model. unlike the stereo 360 model the rickenbacker 330 has a mono output, crescent moon double cutaway, unbound body and the 'r' shaped trapeze tailpiece. rickenbacker still keep to low production levels from their santa ana california factory so demand is all ways high for these superb instruments. includes hard case. careful acoustic research has resulted in the full, rich and warm sound of this popular model. two single coil pickups on a full size body are accented by a traditionally shaped sound hole. the 24 fret rosewood fingerboard is punctuated by dot inlay fret markers, with full double cutaways permitting access to all the frets. standard output is monaural through a single jack plate.

Reviews:
Overall stoked with my fireglo Rickenbacker 330 purchase. With any guitar I buy, I'm most concerned about sound and feel, which are absolutely exceptional on this 330. It is legitimately the most comfortable guitar I've ever played and the sound is exactly what I was looking for from a Rick. It set up perfectly and I didn't even have to touch the truss rods, regardless of a pretty drastic climate change (traveling from IL to FL) and swapping the factory roundwound strings (which felt like 9's) to TI flatwound 11's. To me, that indicates a very stable neck. Aesthetics are not a top priority for me, but some minor quality control issues which may bother other buyers: small spots of clear-coat imperfections on fretboard edges and around the neck joint, as well as a somewhat sloppy black outline of the f-hole. Though not noticeable without close inspection, these are the reasons for the 4/5 star rating, as I know others may find them irritating on a new, $2000 guitar. At the end of the day though, I bought this 330 to play it, so I know I'll eventually be adding a few unintentional dings and scuffs of my own. Not to mention, the wood grain and fireglo burst are totally stunning. Aside from minor cosmetic/QC issues, everything else was perfect with my 330. 100% a keeper.Ingo H.
This is not to bash C & M Music, whom I purchased this guitar from. They have been nothing but professional. However, it is Rickenbacker who should be ashamed of themselves for their quality control regarding their fret work on their finished guitars. The neck on this guitar is practically unplayable due to the frets sticking out of the sides of the neck. If you do any sliding along the neck to play bar chords, or are thumbing a chord, you seriously run the risk of slicing yourself. This is unacceptable for a company that prides itself on "American" quality. I have bought brand new guitars made in Korea and China that have had better QC than this, and for a company that is so adamantly American, this is a disgrace! I own many Rickenbackers, from their vintage reissue guitars, modern basses, and 6 and 12 strings, and have never once had a neck this so shoddily prepared direct from the company. Let's hope this once great company will get their act together soon.thetasigma
The Rickenbacker 330 fireglow is one of my guitars I alway get back to. Got some other high end Gretsch and Gibson guitars but you can't find a better built semihollow body guitar at this price. It sustains like my Gibson customshop es345 but has more clarity when played acoustic. Once plugged in its almost like a good 335 meets a telecaster. So you get all the warm tones and the singlecoil snap in one guitar. Just be sure you like a lacquered fretboard with vintage frets. The bendings can be hard on such a guitar. For people who like the feel of an all maple vintage strat of tele it's good. I'm more used to medium jumbos on my guitars so I refretted the guitar myself and took of the lacquer. Now it plays smoother on the bendings than any of my other guitars!

Reviews:
Great bass as you'd expect from Rickenbacker. Love the matt black look tooThomas A.
I chose this over the Jetglo for several reasons. I like the matte finish and lack of binding. The body edges are a bit more contoured and more comfortable. The Rick-o-Sound option, while cool, wasn't something I would use often, if at all. The neck is a chonk. If you prefer slimmer necks, make certain you play one of these before you buy. I dig it. From the love it or hate it camp, it's true that there's no obvious place to rest your picking hand thumb, but after I ditched the pickup cover, I found a way to settle in. I had to play it to find the spots. There are after market rest options for this if you so choose. The buying experience was excellent. Joe Schafer was on the phone as soon as he could be after I ordered it. I can set up my instruments, but the option to have it done by Sweetwater wasn't something I had considered. I'm glad I went with it. After questions about my playing style and preferences, the bass showed up ready to be played by me, and I was surprised. I didn't have to tweak a thing on the set up. Moreover, the luthier ( thanks Jake S.!) provided a note card with tech specs, so repeating the set up is possible. This is an option beyond the 55 point inspection, and I would recommend it for a high end purchase.

Reviews:
This bass is really comfortable after you get used to it because it is very different than any other bass on the market. But the fact is, the quality of these instruments does NOT match their price. They are built by hand, but so are fenders, and my pro jazz is FLAWLESS and absolutely solid. My Ric came directly from the factory with finish issues. The chrome neck pickup cover was heavily scratched, but the factory did replace it after making me jump through some hoops. When I took the pickguard off to get to the pickup, I noticed that it left a very deep impression in the clear coat (my other basses do not have this issue) which tells me two things: it was put on before the clear cured, and it was put on way too tight & the paint around the pickguard mounting hole screws is already bubbling and chipping away, as is the paint around the pickup routing, which is absolutely 100% going to lead to bigger issues. The overall finish of the final buff is ok. not great, just ok. (I am actually in the custom paint industry). These issues were brought to the attention of their "customer service dept" (for lack of better term) and I was basically told to pound sand. In the video of the factory tour, their CEO says he will put the finish of their instruments up against any one in the industry. BAD IDEA bro. You will get spanked. So to "nutshell" it: great looking bass, fun to play, great sound, BUT low quality build and ZERO customer support. They do NOT care about you, unless you are Lemmy (RIP) and are not shy about letting you know it. That was my experience, but maybe yours will be different. But based on what I have read so far, highly unlikely. Do yourself a favor…buy a used one. Then you wont have to deal w the factory. There really is no upside to buying new because their warranty is short, and doesn't really cover much, because ultimately, THEY decide what they will cover in spite of what the warranty saysnOne
I have exclusively played a Fender Precision for many years and it's still my Go To Bass. I recently purchased a Gibson ThunderBird and was happy overall especially playing technical songs but it still didn't beat the Precision's Tone and Punch. As soon as I plugged the Ric up and hit the first few notes I knew this was something special. Awesome look with the Jet Glo Black, Great Tone and Play-ability, easier to hit the notes, and a lot of fun in general. Spend the extra few hundred and don't get the 4003S. I now own the Trilogy of Great Basses. I say the same good things as others who went from a Fender Precision to the Rickenbacker 4003. You won't go wrong with this Bass.Poveglia99
I have been a bass player for over 50 years. During that time, I have owned a variety of basses including different Fenders, Gibsons and a Pedulla. My primary "go to" bass has been a Leo Fender (pre Ernie Ball) Music Man "Sting Ray" bass. I also own an American Fender Precision Deluxe and added the Ric two years ago. All three basses are great. What I like about the Ric is that it is a bit lighter and thinner than the other two basses (especially when compared to the Fender P bass). It has a different yet comfortable playing neck and is capable of getting that classic Ric sound and sustain. I've also always loved the look of this bass which is very distinctive. I enjoy playing this instrument quite a bit and find myself using it more and more. I purchased mine in the Mapleglo. It was a hard decision for me between the Fireglo and the Mapleglo, so it's possible that I might see myself getting a second one down the road. I haven't noticed any shortcomings in workmanship which seems to be one of the negative things I see surfacing in some of the review. These basses have always been a little pricey, and there are other very nice basses out there for less money. However, these basses have always had an intangible "kewl-ness" factor. I've been very happy with mine and love the sound and feel of the instrument. If I have any complaints, I would say the pick-ups can be noisy and the toggle switch sometimes can produce a static noise switching back and forth between pick ups.Artie

I use to own 330/12 I sold it foolishly, but Im glad I did. I love this one so much more, for starters its more authentic in look and feel, its modelled after the famous George Harrison Rick 12 string Its a stunning guitar in real life. I highly rate this guitar, 10/10 Not to mention the beautiful case it comes in Regards Andrew Armstrong (Australia)andrewma1959
Waited a life time to own this guitar. make sure you have it setuo to the way you play.Steve T.
Lefty Rics are few and far between, even more so for the twelves (no new ones have been produced for a number of years now). This one turned out to be very well cared for and in near mint condition for a twenty five year old guitar, and plays and sounds like the dream guitar I always believed it would be. Fellow lefties, keep the faith, keep an open mind and one day yours will turn up too.longnecklefty
